it's query and Company I'm going to be keeping you company for the next few hours you are not going to believe the company this company you're going to bankrupt your mama's company at least I have the radio to keep me company on 935 and 1075 The [Music] [Music] Fan so the good news is I walked in the studio today and it doesn't look like you guys burnt it down we got to have a little more faith in us than that I feel like I mean that's congr like we uh I mean I'm being serious like hell yeah let's go right Eddie and I kept things afloat for a year without you I think we could do it a day without you that is an excellent point did you have fun yesterday without me I assume yes just wasn't the same yeah right Eddie I would assume for Eddie Garrison yesterday was probably fun to not have me here but not as fun as the fact that when Eddie least expected it when he was probably I think falling asleep because he answered uh the phone on FaceTime shirtless and in bed it was a little bit uncomfortable uh this happened on Saturday night at about 7:15 Pacific so it was 10:15 here uh I called Eddie he either was I couldn't tell if he was asleep or he just had one of those Sour Patch watermelon gummies that he got in Washington uh but Eddie what time was that when I facetimed you uh hold on let me look here I got the records got the receipts um Saturday yeah I don't know well that was useful okay did you were 10:30 right 10:30 okay and you were I I would assume that the signif significant other was if awake was within vicinity correct correct and was there an inquiry as to why I was FaceTiming you at 10:30 on a Saturday evening yes by her yeah and then once you explained it to her did well she heard the entire conversation so what's that she heard the entire conversation so and did she say to herself that's pretty cool or did she say that was the weirdest thing ever she didn't say anything oh so she was now what about yourself did you find it to be cool or did you find I did awesome facetimed Eddie because Eddie is now fully engrossed in Fast Times Ridgemont High since enjoying the movie Jimmy you have or have not seen it seen the movie okay so while I was out in Long Beach for the indie car race and there is plenty to talk about that took place while I was gone obviously including the Pacers which you guys talked plenty about yesterday and now we advance that by getting ready for game number two um and then you know that was going on along with continued transfer portal news which we will update today so there's a lot going on but I had some downtime in LA and thought you know what I'm going to I actually went and did some sing I went to a cemetery I know that will surprise both of you no I didn't at all yeah well yesterday in fact on your day off right that's right so then I called Eddie on FaceTime because I was at the enino Little League which is a nice little league complex and enino is a nice area of Los Angeles but that is the famous Dugout better known in Fast Times as the point and I thought you know what with this kind of greatness right here before me and Eddie's new enthusiasm for Fast Times I need to let Eddie see the point and so I called Eddie and Eddie with the observant nature of Eddie Garrison said and I quote looks like they covered up the graffiti I'm like well yeah the movie was filmed 41 years ago they've had time to come out and repaint the place but it was fun Long Beach was great uh I'll recapture some of the side field trips that I did over the course of the show today but good afternoon to you on a Tuesday my name is Jake query Eddie Garrison Jimmy Cook here as well it is quaran company a 935 and 1075 The Fan thank you to James Boyd yesterday for filling in um in a pre-arranged day off for me because and this doesn't usually happen typically when I come back from the West Coast I've always kind of enjoyed landing and coming straight in and doing sleep deprivation Mondays but uh for whatever reason yesterday my my flight was such that I went from the convenient route of Los Angeles to Atlanta and then a three-hour layover in Atlanta before coming into Indie and I thought you know what I'm probably going to be a little out of it so it was good yesterday just to to rest and relax but there is plenty of news to talk about today you guys covered yesterday I'm sure the news of Jim ERS Steven holder having the story about ur's latest medical procedure then Mike Chapel last night having um a story about a conversation he had with Jim ERS who ERS disputed reports that he had an overdose in December saying that rather he had a lower leg issue um I I will simply say there is a 911 call that everyone has heard that would be contrary to that dispute but nonetheless um the overriding story in all of it is that Jim mer will not be actively at least in person involved with the NFL draft Steven holder had that story yesterday you guys talked about it but stepen joins us at one o'clock today then JP Shadrick from jaguars.com we talked to JP during the combat did we do we did yeah he sat down with us took some time with us to update us on how things were going in the South so we're going to kind of get up to speed this week on what the rivals of the Colts are doing as well within their division um to see if the Colts can you know the the AFC South I mean I think we can safely say that Tennessee is the one that probably is uh in the right lane with their blinker on we got an update from them yesterday in regards to where they're at the big two big signings that they had most notable Calvin Ridley and then the acquisition for lerus Sneed but all it counts from Tennessee is they're going to give will Levis the keys they have a lot of weapons around him if he fails it's going to be his fault nobody else's and that's interesting too because you know they they didn't give H how long do you realistically think Jimmy it takes for a to get a real gauge on a quarterback unless they you know unless they go out and they are a complete disaster but I mean what do you think it truly takes eight games 12 maybe like if you don't there's different to be clear there's different rungs to this ladder of quarterback observation I guess when I say six or eight games what I'm saying is if you don't see promise in the eight then warning sign start to flag that that's true but if you are truly giving assessment as to whether or not a guy is your franchise quarterback if you or or if you think that a guy is your franchise quarterback that I would think that you need at least a the compilation of a full season to get an understanding as to his weakness like his strengths and weaknesses right sure and for Tennessee what's interesting about the will Levis situation is you know I'm not saying that he was drafted thinking that eventually the keys were going to be handed over to but there was a lot of Promise about Malik Willis at times going into when when when he was drafted and like oh this is great he'll learn behind tanah H and then they'll and he's only had he's played 11 games in his career he's played in 11 games and I would argue that he's thrown 66 pass I would argue you've seen enough like I I don't need to see more of Malik Willis I'm good like I've I mean clearly they have but I don't know that he we talked about again I'm apologize for this I'm yesterday when we talked and got the update from Tennessee they the picture that was painted to us was it just did didn't work his skills didn't translate he had a very good college career but does sometimes that's the case what I'm saying is the only point I'm trying to make is this they saw enough to your point in Malik Willis to after 66 throws and a total of 11 appearances in two years to say this is not the guy that we want to hand the keys to so for will Levis the precedent is such that to your point if it's on him he's not going to have a lot of time to be able to to to get it going because right they're going to give him I mean they're going to give him the year don't get me wrong but they also can't really afford to because at your earlier Point what's happened in the rest of the South if Richardson pans out and Stroud's already there and Lawrence is there you're dead last like it's over you it's over for you until you find that quarterback and the AFC in general is just stacked it's insane Jake like it's it's incredible to look at the and this started a year ago but to look momes burrow Allen Jackson Rogers Lawrence stad potentially Richardson joins that list it's insane and you look at the NFC I mean it's just it's night and day like sure love took a step forward last year and you're always going to you know have different conversations about Brock pie like he's clearly a good quarterback but in terms of elite guys on the NBC poster to start season could be the entire collection of AFC qu you're right that that's a fair point you are exactly correct uh Steph going to join us by the way 1:00 as I mentioned JP excuse me at 2 o'clock today and then at 2:30 Jeremiah Johnson Pacers and Bucks game two uh it's a big one and look you guys talked a lot about game one you know there's no need to necessarily go over all of that but there are some things that we will discuss over the course of today including I have a concern about the Pacers that I'm I'm hesitant to go towards because I don't want to be that guy but I have a concern not a huge concern but I have a concern and that is and we'll get more into this but did the Pacers overpay and I don't think this is the answer but did the Pacers overpay on an anomaly and not the rule well this isn't the first time you've brought this up you remember we had this conversation during the in February and I think look I think tyres halberton did they overpay no because they needed to to lock him in I get it but there are two kinds of like Superstar franchise players one is the kind that is so good that it doesn't matter what is around them the other is the kind that is a major critical piece of what you want to do but you need pieces around truth be told as great as he was Reggie Miller Reggie Miller was a great player the greatest player in the NBA history of the Pacers at least an accomplishment may not have been the most naturally skilled set in terms of Versatility but no no doubt the greatest Pacer as an NBA player no doubt about it the what you just outlined the first the first player is LeBron James the second player is Chris Bosch Bosch the great player but he'll get lost because he needed he's a superstar but he needed help around him right like that's those are the two categories of Superstar if I think recent history so so or one is Steph Curry the other is Klay Thompson like that's the like Reggie Miller was a great player right yep but Reggie Miller was a great player who was a very good player but then was made great because you had pieces that you had to build around him yeah Derek mcke Dale Davis and Rick smithz to to a great extent although you know he inherited smithz obviously but or no I take that back smithz was after was drafted the year later but but Reggie Miller as great as he was needed those players and needed a system that was built towards Reggie Miller Tyrese halberton to your point that's an excellent way to put it halberton is a player that I think that we thought was one that was like the LeBron player that no matter who was around him was a Transcendent talent and he's an excellent player and you would rather have him than not and and there's a hundred things about him to love but you also wonder if what we have not seen until Midway through this year was what Tyrese halberton as an NBA player was like without buddy heeld for example buddy heeld was a complimentary piece that perfectly worked with the way halberton was able to move the ball around and what that did to open up and facilitate for halberton and he doesn't have that now and so you have to then make adjustments towards Halton there's nothing wrong with that but what I'm saying is I think maybe the thought was there that halberton was the kind of guy that adjusts everyone else because of his skill set when in reality there are adjustments that need to be made for the sake of halberton and SE yakum is a great player but so far what you've seen is that more often than not in a in the course of a game it's either a Halbert game or a SE yakum game and there aren't a lot of times where you get both that that may come don't give wrong and he'd rather have those two guys than not have them don't misunderstand what I'm saying but does halberton is he's still trying to learn how to play without a constantly moving perimeter player that is drawing defenses away and opening lanes for halir and has he not yet learned to adjust to the defensive pressure that comes with having his Robin or in this case if he's Robin to the Batman of being seaka that's like a low block slow down the offense movement type player I also said it yesterday Jake to that same end I need him in game two to not fully abandon his passing ability because it's part of what makes him special but like I need him to be selfish or larger more selfish than he's been SE yakum will get his and inherently within the offense Pascal seak was the only functioning piece from game one where you point to it and look like yeah that's a play playoff player it's the guy that's been there before I threw miles in there as well because he had a solid game he really didn't look lost in terms of totality body of work but it's a it's slim pickings for guys that looked comfortable SE yakum fit that mold he'll be fine at some point a conversation needs to be had especially if it happens again tonight which I don't think it will but when I say if it happens again I'm referring to if he only has nine shots if it looks like he's being passive if it looks like he's you know maybe not in a good Rhythm and wants to spread it elsewhere that's fine but at some point I would rather in the same way I've called for the rotations to go down with the ship I would rather the star player go down swinging than it be he took nine shots and we're questioning whether or not he has that ability of the next Echelon of Superstar Eddie do we we don't have um we should come up with some sort of a a Sounder that alerts and and warns everybody that I'm about to go way back in time like 1.21 gigawatts do we have Doc Brown just saying that we need 1.21 gigawatt to get in the DeLorean and go 88 M hour I would also accept just a great Scott like that'd be fine if that's all it is baby hits 88 miles an hour you're going to see some serious and then we'd have to beep that but I'm going to go on the way back here and speaking of 88 miles an hour I'll go back to 1988 now do we need roads here where we're going where we're going we don't need roads but we got to talk about your kids um so by the way do you smell incense in here are you guys burning incense I ever since Eddie got back from Seattle have you notic these weird things I I weird quirks keep popping up it does smell like incense in here um I'm going to go on the way back here and go back to Rick Smiths Rick smithz was a guy and I vividly recall I made a cameo on channel 13 news during the final game of the 1987 88 NBA season when they were interviewing people about who they want what they wanted the Pacers to do because the Pacers going into the game the last game of the year were in play for the number one overall pick along with the LA Clippers and I can't remember who they were playing but I was at the game at Market square and I don't know if it was Don hin or whoever it was was interviewing fans and so Along Comes you know freshman Jake querry and he says who what do you want do you want the Pacers to win tonight and I said well I do but more importantly I want them to get the number one overall pick because I want them to get Danny Manning and they ended up with a number two pick and took Rick Smiths and I thought for sure they should take M mookie block and Dave sber and I led the at the Pacers STP party which yes we were there we stood up and started the chant of Walsh must go and chanted Walsh must go for like 15 now clearly I was wrong right clearly that one did not pan out for me um but with all of that said Rick smithz was a very very very good and underappreciated NBA player and was a center that whose game probably translates today as much as any center of his era but one thing about Rick smithz that held true Pro for the totality of his career was you could tell in a game by five possessions in you could tell if Rick smithz was going to have a 29-point night or a nine-point night if he missed like his first shot or two and then what what are we doing over there Eddie is everything going okay over there did Eddie just vomit what what what what's going on I was just shaking up my drink Jimmy Jimmy noticed the same thing I did did you not I mean I'm sitting I thought I thought you pressed all on a blender like's going what are you drinking over there uh a matcha tea excuse me matcha tea from Starbucks so no chai tea not today no now what's in the matcha tea it looks like a shamrock shake it's literally just matcha it's a matcha tea okay cream in there oat milk matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves that originate in ch you Edd's all into the green stuff now since he got back from Seattle noticed that yeah so at any rate Rick smithz during the course of a game in the first couple of possessions you could tell from his aggression level and if he hit let's say two of his first three shots you were like here we go this is a Rick Smith's game and if he missed his first shot or two he would get kind of tentative and then they would they would you know go elsewhere and he just wasn't as big an offensive Factor that's an extreme but there is part of me that wonders if that's not at least as of right now I'm not saying in totality and people people can feel free to tell me that I'm way off base and that I'm being you know just Mr Hyperbole and worst case scenario you're way off Bas in being Mr hyperb and worst case scenario thank you did you are you shaking the matcha again over there no okay um but it does feel like at this point I'm not saying that this is who he's going to be forever but that Tyrese halberton right now for the last few weeks has been a guy that you kind of feel like in the first few minutes of the game you have an overall feel as to which game he is going to be is this going to be a halberton 25 and 12 assist night or is this going to be a halberton shots not going he's going to be a little tentative and facilitate elsewhere night and I think they need him to be the first they need him to be aggressive they need him to be I'm the guy that got a Max contract and now let me show you why that that's where they need him to be and if they're going to make noise in this series Jimmy that's what they need him to be correct you cannot have another performance like you did in game one and look I'm going off what the Pacers have said the last month month and a half he's healthy he's cleared he's good he's fine but at this stage I am willing to at this stage where the Pacers team is at chalk that up to a bad performance in your first playoff game Granite I was clinging to the idea that because of how well he played in the inseason tournament that that's somewhat comparable or close in terms of atmosphere maybe not in terms of tenacity but definitely atmosphere to what you'd experience in the playoffs that maybe he wasn't going to have this hiccup his this lull you've had it you've had the bad game out of the way now it needs to change in terms of especially shot attempts like I don't I don't care if he if he winds up getting 20 on 15 shots 16 shots 17 shots at least you've seen now him realizing that it needs to be takeover mode for him it can't be passive I know you don't want to press you don't want to force too much but as long as everything else is still happening within the offense yakum getting his things flowing nicely he just needs to be more aggressive and I think you're going to see that tonight I really do I I expect a look I realize I'm just throwing numbers here I expect the level of a of a 27 and 15 type of performance at minimum from Tyrese halber tonight you get that you probably win the game right in a Pacers win yes now again here here's the optimism in me you ready this all was set up where you and I know and I know you guys talked about it yesterday it is very easy the thing about playoffs to me that I've told you before that that I always enjoyed about covering playoff series was the fact that a playoff ser series like there's a different storyline game in and game out and it's really a chess match of teams making adjustments two things came into the play for the Pacers that that thrilled me just thrilled me and I thought this is this is the news that we're looking for I have two reasons not one but two two reasons why Pacer fans should still feel good about where they are you ever been driving on the interstate and you're driving along and you're behind a semi and then there's a semi in the left lane and you know that you need to get over in front of the semi on the left but it's kind of next to you and then you can just see developing the the opening where you're going to drive forward and then make your move and change lanes and get in the left lane and get around the one in front of you yes and you can see it before it happens right you just it's you're rolling right I can tell you exactly not one but two scenarios for the Pacers that people are going to hear and go that's what I wanted to hear they're ready to change lanes and I'll tell you what they are in just about 10 minutes but I did want to get to this all Also earlier today I had to go to mberry Indiana Jimmy you ever been to mberry Indiana I have not it is in Clinton County near Frankfurt okay just off of 65 um just between Frankfurt Indiana and I65 so I had to go to mberry this morning and I pulled into the downtown of mberry which literally is you know one stop sign and a couple of buildings and as I'm pulling up I see a a truck driving with a dog a very a good boy a very happy looking frolicking dog running alongside the truck and my first thought was wait a minute that I'm not I didn't just witness a dog being dumped did I I mean I know that that's terrible to say but that was my first reaction right and then a second car pulled up and the dog began raining alongside that car which had a dog in it and I thought oh well then I panicked for nothing this belongs to this second car so the second car pulls up and parks along on the street and this dog is on its hind legs trying to play with the dog that's in the backseat of the car whatever and I thought well they this dog clearly knows this other dog the driver of the car gets out and I said so is this your dog running around and she said no I've never seen him but he's been running around apparently all morning loose and there was a guy walking and I asked him and he said yeah I don't know whose dog that is but he he's been running around nobody knows who do who it belongs to and it did seem like it belonged to somebody the Mulberry Police Department's right there and Andy Griffith was working thank goodness so I got the dog I literally opened the door to my car and the dog hopped right in and this guy was he was awesome he I could tell right away I'm like now this fella is a great road trip companion um he was just an happy go-lucky loving just an awesome dog looked like and he does I don't think he's a pitbull more of a boxer mix but kind of that size of a dog and just was licking all over me and could not have been I mean literally asked if I want to go for beers as a matter of fact he was that friendly right so but I had to go and and tape something and so I didn't have time so I went to the police department Andy Griffith came out said oh yeah you know I'll call and see if he's chipped and we'll find out who he belongs to they posted something on social media and everything else um Frankfurt Humane Society the Clinton County Humane Society based in Frankfurt came chipped him he was not chipped uh they put something up on Lost Pet alert and so far nobody's claimed him if you know anybody whose dog may be in Clinton County in Frankfurt that got loose and they're looking for him he is at the Frankfurt Humane Society if you are thinking about adopting a new pet I can assure you I don't know how old this guy was he I'm guessing he was like two or three because he was very playful and energetic um he has not been fixed I can tell you that but he was very cool very cute well people care about that stuff um and I'm aware and he is there at the Humane Society and would make an awesome pet if anybody is interested I have sent it out on my X Twitter account jQuery J A ke q r y and I'm now on a mission to make sure that this fell either gets home or gets a good home so what you're saying is if somebody doesn't step up then Barney's going to end up with the dog and to clarify I'm talking about Barney from The Andy Griffith Show not the purple dinosaur um that is correct no I don't know who will end up with it they did tell me that that's a pretty good Humane Society and that they try to keep dogs as long as they can you know which is good um the reason I mentioned the part Eddie actually about him my concern was I'm like I hope this isn't a dog that was just used for breeding and then they just said okay your your time is up uh you know go run the wild I have no idea but he was very cool and he's on my account and if you're interested uh please give it a look because I'd like to find him a good home or get him home to where uh he belongs okay we come back I will tell you not one but two items of awesome optimism news on this optimism Tuesday I know it was disappointing what happened for the Pacers over the weekend but I'm going to give you two reasons why you're going to go home you're going to sit down at the dinner table or you're going to go to the water cooler at work and you're going to say let me give you two reasons why things are looking good for the Pacers and all your friends are going to say that is genius did you come up with that yourself and I'm going to tell you yes you can even say that you did I'll tell you what they are next business it's all e e e e e e ever since I showed Eddie the point and Eddie's very astutely observed he's like wait a minute where's the Cinch I liked our executive producers uh Todd Meers theory that uh currently the unnamed dog is running to the circle to try to find jQuery he's he's broken out and he's running here listen man if I'm telling you if I could facilitate I I absolutely would have kept he was awesome I know you would he was an awesome dog um what have I said about playoff series when when the road team wins game one the playoffs finally start the playoffs start when the road team wins the first game right my favorite cliche but which by the way hasn't happened happen yet correct Eddie we're still on that street going nowh Games been won therefore the playoffs have not started I don't have the numbers in front of me on this my apologies for that but it feels like often times when a road team wins game one they're gonna get gentleman swept everybody gets excited and then correct yeah that wakes up the other team and then it's over okay and I listen I know you would have wanted to win game one and I think the Pacers have a really good chance against Milwaukee are you saying they're about to go on a gentleman sweep is that what you're insinuating here I'm saying if they would have gotten up one nothing I could see Milwaukee saying like Okay he hates Road teams I'm just saying based on precedent I get it correct totally unfounded Road teams winning game one often times is like a wakeup call but here here's the bigger thing where I think the Pacers are playing this perfectly let me throw you a couple of things here got your glove ready Jimmy if you say it was the Doug mcdermit minutes I'm leaving I flunked algebra seven times okay seven times and it wasn't until I had a tutor and I was spending like multi- hours a week at the Glendale library that I finally was able to barely pass it okay but I know this much I know that 27% is not a great number right excuse me uh 32.7% sorry now I don't know where we're going with 32.7% okay okay 16 and 33 that's the winning percentage of Doc Rivers as a coach when his team is up and has three games in a series and needs to win I'm glad you did this because half joking but also half serious one of my family members patri fan shout out to my nephew Tony he was uh you know upset with how things went and I told him well hey technically you got Doc Rivers white where you want him because he has a series lead I guess in that case you're outlining he's six and 10 in game sevens but he's 16 and 33 in in games where his team H has one win left and he's lost more here we go 23.1% of the 3 to1 collapses in NBA history had Doc Rivers as the coach beautiful that stat was all over the place last year was great he's conceded more 3 to1 leads than any coach in the history of basketball it's amazing you think that so the Pacers are two wins away from Magic Zone baby two two Milwaukee wins away I'm saying yeah you want to get down 3-1 to these people if the Pacers are down 3-1 and people in Milwaukee are all heading to the best place for a PBR and I can't blame them if they are but if they are hold the phone order a second PBR cuz you might need it for your Sorrows because here come the Pacers they have them right where they want them right yes right where they want them let Doc Rivers go up 3-1 let's go 32% the the the the Bucks are one win away from eliminating the Pacers from the playoffs and let me tell you there is no coach in the history of basketball that has a harder time with that final game than Doc Rivers let's go it ain't over till over baby and when you're when you're playing against Doc Rivers in the postseason bring it on it's seven games you're down three nothing don't worry about it 16 and 33 let's go if I'm Rick Carlile I'm posting that all over the place right instead of we believe I'm going Ted lasso with it and I'm like barbecue sauce 16 and 33 let's go it's our time it's good news for indana he's lost an NBA record 32 closeout games he's lost an NBA record as Jake outlined seven series when leading 3-2 lost 10 game sevens and he's lost 12 series when holding a series lead at any point in time all of those are NBA records it's remarkable NBA champion Doc Rivers have thrown a little bit of respect on the name but that was 15 years 16 years ago with arguably the start of the big three era I mean I think the guy's a good coach but don't but I'm just telling you it's not over till it's do you not smell the incense I'm wondering if it's fabric softener I I did laundry and maybe it's my fabric softener it smells good maybe a little bit Eddie you got nauseous from my cologne once which is why you're drinking your Macho te to make you feel better is it is the do you notice the I do not fabric softener here I do not you know he mentioned this at the start of the show but if you were to be honest we were to give you true serum would you say the best part of yesterday was your every move was not attacked or or brought up I don't think James on talked about your tea or your food he wasn't breaking out a blender yesterday was he he did not he did not break out a blender if you don't mind me saying so Jimmy when Eddie decided to stir up his Macho te you actually jumped out of your seat as if you looked like you'd been tased I was confused right so I speak for both of us and now you're throwing me under the bus as the one over here that's like the all asking him how he felt when you were gone I was was trying to get more truth serum out of him that's all did you enjoy that yesterday you were able to whip and blend your orange julius Macho tea over there and nobody noticed I didn't have one yesterday so there's that because because he wasn't fighting the nausea of smelling my cologne right that's right I mean let's be real but is that number one or is that both the first thing for the Pacers is the fact that if you get up one- nothing it's always a Telltale sign of disaster and the second is that if they get down three if Milwaukee gets in a position for a closeout game 16 and 33 I would throw out a third okay if they shoot 21% from Beyond The Arc they're not winning this series that would also be an anomaly thing that I would throw to the side like there there are elements and look we are at the point now where I'm okay being a little bit more glass half full since game two has arrived Miles Turner said it best post game they played better in that second half on pretty much every level outside of the rotations which we we got into it at nauseum yesterday if they play with the same Focus tenacity the way they were controlling things defensively and overall Pace to open the game that they did in the second half game one's a different ball game there are areas where it is reasonable to say especially more than 24 hours now removed hey it's a seven game series they had a clunker time to adjust and adapt but if you shoot like that and you let Dame go for near 40 in the first half yeah you're going home now I mean Damen Lillard is a lightning and a bottle guy incredible right he's a lightning and a bottle guy he always has been y um I I'm sure that you got and I I realized you know I I was gone yesterday you should yeah well but I mean I I get people listening are like hey we've moved on from game one but the one if there was an upshot and I'm I'm not trying to be Johnny water carrier here right I mean I was pretty critical of Tyrese halberton earlier for example but if there is one upshot it would be this and that is that you once you studied the storm of that barrage you know from their out their rotations were really questionable and they put themselves in position to be in position I mean they they the second half of that game now you could make the argument that Milwaukee probably you know backed off a little bit because they were up nearly 30 at one point but I thought the rotations were questionable and to your point Jimmy I I don't know typically the rotations tighten in the playoffs and I don't know that in a tightened rotation that you really have a lot of purpose for Doug mcder who I like as a guy don't get me wrong and as a player but I just don't know what he's going to bring that's going to be a Difference Maker for them no especially like again I don't want to hammer at home because there's some point that has moved on but it also needs to be aware this can't happen tonight if you're down early and you make a run to close the gap especially if it's late in this game or going into the start of the fourth I know it's out of character for this team because they love the bench but you got to throw the big dogs out there you're big three if we're if we're calling it that which I've been the only one to label it that way but it's their three best players SE yakum Turner halberton they need to be the three that leading the charge and if you go down swinging you go down swinging but from a rotational standpoint and Jake you can tell me if you disagree with this or not we were talking about it you don't have to fully kill off your bench but you're shortening this thing from 11 the other day to probably 9 you're starting five seaka n Smith Turner nard halberton and then your bench toppen Smith McConnell and Shephard assuming that was just a one-off of hey rookie Jitters and he won't be a liability and mcder and Jackson at least for this series I'm sorry you're you're left on the bench I mean I know you like Isaiah Jackson as much as anybody but the only reason Jackson will be in there is if Smith is in foul trouble and you're trying to get Turner Fair that's fair well Jackson might actually I boy I don't know what you do if Giannis is playing for example you know I mean then it's a different conversation it is but and I would expect that he's going to be back in game three don't you I I don't think he plays tonight right have we I don't we don't have a yeah so so that's yeah that's pretty much as good as being out um you know what he needs is more of that Macho te if he has that Macho T Edie I'll bet he'd be you know what I mean we right up there with the the green motif of Milwaukee you if you're and if you're going to insult me get it correct it's matcha tea there you go unless you're drinking it in which case it becomes matcha um we talked about this yesterday though if you're Milwaukee and we talked to a gentleman who covers the buck yesterday and he basically painted it as Giannis is the type of player where unless you're tying him to the medical table he is going to be out there the second you give him a green light but at that same point Jake if they're up 20 and I don't think they will but if they handily dispatch the Pacers out of this thing and it's a 20 series lead going back to gamebridge why Rush him back you're up 20 yeah you're right about that get him get him a basically a round of rest if it's really a soft tissue injury that's at risk of being reinjured well you've got Doc Rivers as your coach that's why speaking of soft tissue that might not matter he has a better players arguably like better collection of talent and still blown seriously speaking of soft tissue now Eddie what part of me saying Mach was insulting you well you're trying to insult me for drinking matcha tea right what was the last thing that you were having the trai tea right yes the TR tea uh I I mean this one you're a little more Macho I think that's cool I don't think insult at all I appreciate that I think it's a little odd that you brought in an Orange Julius whipping machine and fired that blender up during the middle of the show but other than that I don't see any problem with you drinking the the CH what what all is in your Macho tea uh it's just matcha and oat milk and then they just whip it together yep okay all I know is on Ice yeah if and I don't do this very often and Eddie probably won't do it now in spite so maybe Todd Meer will email him to force him to do it if uh Macho macho man is not the rejoiner when we come back something's wrong with the show that's all I'm saying Jimmy I was just thinking the same thing but you have to go with the the the Brilliance of subtlety here I don't have that in my Arsenal believe it or not I don't know if i' Arsenal's your soccer club is it not no it's not okay it's the big one come on they're all big they're all big in the Premier League Manchester City who's your team Eddie you've never confessed to us now you know when I was talking to somebody what's that in what soccer I was but but just so you know I had a conversation over the weekend at Long Beach about hockey and I was giving the story about how my buddies and I decided to adopt a team and I was asking Joel Sebastian Elliot does zindar radio with me I said you want to guess what team we picked and he said well it wouldn't be uh the crocken Kraken because you don't strike me as an overly Trend follower guy and that's the trendy team and I said well clearly it must be because that's Eddie's team is the Kracken crocken so apparently according to Joel you are a trend follower I didn't know that do you have a soccer club no okay then that would mean that you're not in fact a trend follower because that would have been been trendy if you'd gotten in on the soccer thing do you watch soccer at all yeah Eddie's my spirit animal on that there you go if I want to go to sleep I'll watch soccer yes look at Eddie Garrison throwing it out there man that's Eddie Garrison by the way who is the CEO of the company you can send your angry emails that soccer fans Eddie I'm telling you they'll throw you down a flight of stairs right I know I just and then they'll chant songs while they do it yeah okay uh Stephen hler gonna join us 15 minutes from now it is a Tuesday quer and Company 935 1075 The Fan jmv from moer find Jewelers for e e e e e e e e e e e how about this I'd like to know if anybody knows the answer to this I found this fascinating this is of course the Village People right The Banger of the highest order it is a good song it is this in the Navy and YMCA there three biggest hits my roommate was decent too but the Village People the lead singer who was really I mean I hate to say it this way he was the one kind of legitimate musician of the group the rest of them were all kind of assembled for the you know the the caricature of the Village People but the lead singer of The Village People Who was the Sailor essentially is Victor Willis now would you like to guess you're not looking up Victor Willis right now are you I see a Village People page but I don't see Victor Willis directly so now go ahead Victor Willis the lead singer of The Village People during the time that the Village People were a thing was married to a famous woman I'd like to know if anybody knows who it was that he was married to I wonder if Steven holder would know who he was married to I'm going to lead on now here's the thing there's we're going to find out if Stephen's listening to the show because he could Google this and look it up first but I found it fascinating like one day I just was sitting around and my Natural Curiosity kicked in during a bout of insomnia after I texted Eddie at 1:40 in the morning and asked him about a potential show guest and I thought I wonder what the guy that started out the the Village People like how did they how were they assembled and so I'm reading about the lead singer and I'm like holy cow really I didn't realize I mean he was a pretty accomplished guy still he's still with us don't get me wrong and he was involved in a pretty large theatrical production of the late 70s where he met his soon Tobe wife and then she became a decade later not even at a half a decade later she became an absolute massive star within the American pop culture and she herself they ended up getting divorced and she married another celebrity that was a very highly publicized engagement and massive story when she got married and I had no idea that she was originally married to the lead singer of The Village People her husband was a sports caster right that is correct the one that the the highly publicized engagement Eddie clearly Googled it right a little bit yeah I didn't think that you would know that off the top of your head but the the Village People I remember um I asked this question the other day Jimmy I think you and I were discussing this you know the question that I've asked before of if you were on the Las Vegas Strip and you like got blindfolded and you had to just randomly point in any direction and the first person that you point to you have to pick a movie and if they've seen the movie that you picked you win $10 million you can't see the person you only know that they're americ you have no idea how old they are Etc if you had to do the same thing with a song I think you and I discuss this offir I'm convinced of this maybe I I think I did mention it on the air because somebody texted me and refuted me and I'm like I'm telling you the song that right now the highest percentage of living Americans would recognize is probably YMCA right yeah I'm not going to fight that because it's played in every single Sports I mean every little you play YMCA in Indianapolis Indians game and instantly every little kid is jumping up and doing the Y the M the C and the a right yeah now Macho look at Eddie over here see Eddie you know it right yes sir I feel like if I was to put well you're rightz it every time I try to fight this conversation you throw at me well what if the person's like 75 and it's like okay because like if you if you went up to somebody depends how much the song you have to know like uh if you're looking for the uh [Music] oh yeah you're right like someone will be able to repeat that to you like oh yeah I know what that is I know yeah you're right but in terms of like just the whole song name of the song artist yeah probably YMC who is that artist that particular one is uh Ryan I see to your point I'm forgetting the name already but it's a it's culturally significant soccer no totally well you heard that yeah and Gary Glitter Rock and Roll History of Rock and Roll Part Two I mean that's that's way up there but YMCA because it charted for a very long time during you know somebody somebody said to me they're like nobody 90 would know YMCA and I'm like yeah except for that they were 45 when it was the number one song in the country for like eight weeks uh we're gonna ask if Steven holder we're gonna put the quiz to Steven holder as to whether or not he knows the answer to it was kcraft 400 by the way by Zombie Nation was the name of the song so yeah it's not let not getting no one's getting that out of their pocket that's a big one also for college football games you know in another to be honest with you jump around may eventually work its way into the argument for the same reason but for now I still say it's YMCA somebody else says Don't Stop believe in it's up there it's certainly up there the 5-year-old kids know it though like they will eventually know doubt but do they know it right now it's the same it's the it's the Wizard of Oz companion conversation right correct it's that's exactly right yeah uh Steven holder joins us next NFL draft week the draft begins in how soon Eddie uh let's go with uh hours days they've already got 2 people lined up outside waiting for their spot draft coming up on Thursday we'll talk about that and more in Jim ERS news with stepen holder next the off SE is e e e e e the NFL draft is upon us it takes place on Thursday as of now the Colts tentatively scheduled to draft 15th overall we will talk to Steven holder about the prospects of them selecting in that situation as well as his latest on Jim ERS as Steven joins us now as he is kind enough to do each and every week you can read his work of course at espn.com Stephen I am going to lead off with a non-football related trivia question for you and put you on the spot Fair okay my favorite my favorite kind of question that's right go ahead um and obviously you were not listening to the program before you came on because I said I wonder if Stephen knows this and you would have Googled it by now and know the answer but um we just played the Village People you're familiar with the Village People YMCA the song for which they're most known their lead singer was was the Sailor okay uh Victor Willis I believe his name and Victor Willis one time I I just got curious and I thought I wonder what the background is on this fell like how long did it take him to leave the Navy to join the group how and how did exactly did he meet the construction worker and and then I learned that Victor Willis himself was already a very accomplished uh Entertainer and singer actor other such areas and when on the set of the whiz which was something he was a part of he met his soon Tobe wife who he would later divorce and his wife would go on to a bigger more prominent marriage and career do you know the name of the woman that Victor Willis the lead singer Village People was married to during the time of Macho Man and the YMCA I don't but I feel like I should it feels like it might be somebody obvious and I'm not thinking about it and I know this is going to surprise people but my understanding is both the uh construction worker and the cop were very jealous of his relationship um okay so I don't know I I really don't know who who it is but I'm dying to know now during the time of all of that hoopla around the Village People he was married to a woman who he would divorce that would later get engaged to Ahmad Rashad and she was known as Felicia Rashad who of course played oh hell yeah played CLA huxel on the COS show CLA freaking htable yes now how about yeah see right so how about this then Stephen the other night I'm during a bout of insomnia I'm flipping the channels and my choices are between Barney Miller or an episode of The Cosby Show and I go with The Cosby Show and it was from 1988 so like a couple of year probably like season four of The Cosby Show and then I get curious and I looked it up and at the time of the the taping of the episode that I was watching Bill Cosby was 48 and Felicia Rashad was 39 years old and I've never felt more old in my life that's crazy isn't it I mean when I was watching The Cosby Show it always kind of felt like oh they're they're easily like you know 55 years cor correct right like they've got this nice Brownstone in Brooklyn and everything else I mean today a 39-year-old living in that Brownstone in Brooklyn has 19 roommates I mean come on right well or you live in the basement apartment correct that is exactly correct which my brother which my brother's first apartment in New York when he moved there right out of college was a basement apartment in the Bronx okay so and and I know people in in Indiana probably have no idea what the hell that even means but it had a window so it was actually okay but it was literally a basement apartment that so had a window that was like eye Lev and you could see the street uh it it was it was like below street level it's you you got that step those three or four steps down and you got the steps up to the front door you know what I mean um you know one of those Brownstone type setups so yeah if you envision Sesame Street you got the walk up but then there's a you know that that stoop on Sesame Street same setup but then you've got three or four steps down so like everybody I know who went to New York that was like your first apartment totally well I when I lived in New York the apartment that I had you opened the main like foer and there there was my studio and then another Studio to the left with a shared bathroom and shower in the middle all right that's now that is the true New York experience right there buddy totally I will say get aside from all of that despite all that which is which is effectively awful right no one wants to live like that I actually am jealous of my brother that he got that experience in life at like 22 years old Stephen in the city with not a care in the world I and I I never got that opportunity and like I was so jealous when I would go visit I interned at MTV networks in New York City at the age of 21 years old and lived by myself in Greenwich Village New York City and there is no subear period like under a one-year period there was no period of my life that was more influential on me no question I loved every single minute of it it's the best it is it's the best I love every single minute of it it's not for everybody you know some people hate New York my wife hates New York she do want to go I got family there but I love it um it is I think exactly right it it is a place that can really shape you and form you and you know look I I love it and I get it I I get the New York experience so anyway I don't know how we got on that topic but but I now you know something about me um Stephen you had a chance to talk to Jim R I know that you know your article Colts owner Jim mer won't be in draft room amid recovery uh has gotten a lot of obviously conversation but let's carry that on here on the airwaves uh you talked to ERS how did he sound first off and if you could was that the first time that you have spoken with him since his name has been in so many rumors dating back to the end of the season uh Yes actually it is the first time I've spoken to him I outside of a a voice message that I had gotten uh some weeks back but we had not had any actual conversation so the the first time frankly in the calendar year 2024 that I have spoken to him now he has certainly been in contact with people much more important than me but you know in terms of where I it yes this was the first time um in terms of how he sounded you know I mean he he sounded like himself I would say that you know he he was I I thought it was very telling just when when we talked about you know kind of his his expectations for the season for example he he's already you know making big proclamations right that you know Anthony Richardson has only scratched the surface and we've never seen what this guy can do and and there's this is we've only scratched the surface purpose of the Anthony Richardson era he said you know so he's already giving Anthony Richardson an era after four games which is fine right I love Anthony Richardson so um that's typical Jim ERS um I think the other thing I would point out is I asked him look I know how much you love the draft just as a being present I guess during the draft um he loves the strategy he loves the you know the the anxious moments he loves to uh be able to welcome the the draft picks on the telephone right after the picks are made for example so all of that is just really something he really is really looks forward to and I asked him how much he'd missed that and and it it is something that he will definitely miss but he's going to be dialed in virtually uh by Zoom or some other platform and he will be dialed in the whole time with the to the draft and we'll even have the chance to even talk to the prospects on the phone he said so you know he said it will it will be pretty much business as usual and and that's something that he did stress is that things are moving along like normal you know his physical absence not withstanding so uh the thing that I the last thing I would say on that note is in in recent years Jim ERS has not been as present at Colts headquarters anyway he has not been there certainly on a a daily basis not at all he has been all over the place right he likes to hang out in California for weeks at a time in the off season you know so this is not that different but certainly uh we are we are a place now where at least you know he is able to uh to have exchanges and communicate and so forth whereas before uh he was not he was not able to to play a role such as that based on my understanding earlier this year when he was not in uh the best of health so anyway that's the update Steph holder of espn.com is our guest Stephen I know I'm ask you to look into a crystal ball here but in terms of you know his vocal strength and in talking with him and how he sounds do you a do you fion he do you envision him being capable of this and B is this something you think again looking into a crystal ball the Colts would do that is to say that maybe it's a a teleconference or something that is either digital or over the phone or he would still be able to speak on what the Colts did post-draft uh so I actually don't think it's completely off the table um he made he made like a very quick passing reference to it but it wasn't like hey that's gonna happen it was like hey who knows maybe I'll maybe I'll be able to talk to you guys I have no idea if it's going to happen and you know he says a lot of things in passing that don't necessarily transpire so but no it's it's I'm actually not having to use a crystal ball because he he did kind of make reference to it but I would not characterize it as a promise as as much as like we'll see you know so so we you know if that does happen I think that would be very welcome and and I know I'd say this I know that's that's a that's an opportunity that he very much looks forward to uh there are times after the where you know we think everything's the dust is settled and it's all said and done and nope the day is not over Jim Mercy hasn't been in the room yet and sure enough he'll show up so I don't think he's missed an opportunity you know in my time covering the Colts which is a decade now so it is something that's very important to him and if there's a way to do it um and he can convince you know convince the powers that be to to to facilitate it then I think it could happen we'll see Stephen I want to ask for a clarification because I was a little confused by this and I know that that since your interview I believe ver has done another as well I think chap did talk to him but he I want to make sure that I'm not blending two different timelines together okay right and maybe this isn't even important I don't know I feel like it is and I'll explain why in your article it appears as though that ersay wanted to clarify that the medical episodes he was having in December and the reason that he was gone for so long was because of an issue with his leg that led to a surgery or that he had to get taken care of and that since then he's had another surgery a back surgery but am I correct in saying or did I misunderstand it that he was essentially saying yes I'm guilty of some things in the past but don't draw the conclusion that that's what I was involved with in December because that's erroneous is that is am I paraphrasing that correctly it it's it's a a little bit that's a little bit right I think what what what is actually what he's actually doing is not really specifying anything that's the problem you know he's not he's not saying at least to me I guess in Reading uh the conversation with Mike Chapel like he's I I guess he was more direct in talking about the actual um potential overdose with me I said to him I said look you know people have asked a lot of questions um of me of others just in generally and I said you know they're they're asking because they're concerned about you Jen and I said you know I would love for you to to address the questions that are out there you know you're trying to be delicate right sure and and that and his response to that question was well you know look I have some stuff in my past so you know know people will will draw a lot of conclusions based on that but that's not what it is but it's not a really direct answer to it it certainly doesn't say well what did happen in then it doesn't well the only reason I bring it up is because and I understand and I and I respect and appreciate before you go on wait before you I wanna to one other thing because it is confusing you are correct here's what's confusing the the timeline in terms of the the back SL leg surgery um I feel like I'm talking about Jonathan Taylor's injuries again here but anyway in terms of what's going on with him now in his latest surgery that is uh that is more recent to my understanding that is that is my understanding of that like that happened more recently um even subsequent to the respiratory illness I believe but but he was not clear on on the timeline on how all of that happened or when all of it happened and I think part of the reason he wasn't clear is because there are some questions that maybe he doesn't want to answer I think you know and I I I can respect that right right but I mean we've heard the 911 call and we heard what was being described as the distress he was in and it was not leg related you know so no for sure um that's why I I that's why I'm saying this this surgical this surgery situation that he's had my understanding of that is that it's more recent and everything point points to that right but but he's being vague probably intentionally so and I guess I expected that but it is a little bit difficult to to articulate you know what he's trying to say because he's being big I guess is there any chance Steph holder moving towards the draft now okay and I appreciate the clarification in discussion there um I listen I I threw this out last week and I want you to tell talk me off of this subject matter and unless you think that it's worth keeping open okay but I do believe this Stephen I would have said 0% chance you and I talk a lot about this you know you get stuff where people start sending you stuff that their neighbors mailman's you know next door neighbors prom dates Brotherhood right and more often than not you go okay that's cool and then you start hearing it more where you're like you know what I wonder if there is something to this I went from 0% chance of this on my response to now simply saying that I think it's a 5 to 10% chance okay maybe 20 if Jim mer has any involvement at all in the draft and he's the owner and if he is still around and he even if he's not in the war room he is a Sentimental guy and the Horseshoe matters to him and the Heritage and the Legacy and the history of it and storylines matter to him and it just so happens that all of those would coincide with a guy who is an absolute Difference Maker potentially for the Colts in the position that they most need it do you think there is the remote possibility that ERS says to Chris Ballard if there's a way for you to swing this year's pick and a package of picks from later years to move up to take Marvin Harrison Jr I want you to do it how outlandish is that I don't think if it if it happens right which which I think is a minuscule possibility okay if it happened I I don't think it would play out that way here's what I think I think the idea would have to be Chris Ballard's and then Jim mer would put him over the top like in other words so go back to uh 2020 now this is a much much different scenario okay completely on a different planet but it speaks to what you're talk to what I'm talking about so they're looking at Jonathan Taylor they had already picked Michael Pitman Jr and then a few picks later here's Jonathan Taylor's sitting there and he's falling a little bit and they have the opportunity to trade up and get him and they have been eyeballing him for for months right and you can hear in in the video that was released by the team you hear Jim Merc say to Chris Ballard Chris I mean you've been talking about him for months what are you doing go get him and because they were debating it and it wasn't so much him telling him what to do it was him saying dude just do it you said you love him just go do it right so I I think Chris in particular is is not one to really like to give up future picks that's not his thing we know that you know Mr I like them picks right he wants more not fewer picks so he sometimes has to be talked into those situations because his inclination is to go the other way his inclination is not to trade up it's to trade back so but again I don't I don't know that Jim mer would be that direct he it's not been his nature in the past uh the Jeff Saturday situation notwithstanding right I don't know temporary insanity I don't know what happened there but that being said that is not his way it is not his history generally doesn't function that way um but I think if there is sort of a you know a tie in the Senate you know so to speak J mer is the guy who's the vice president who can sit there and make the tiebreaking vote you know so I don't know if anybody paid attention to CICS but I think that's how that works Colts beat rider for espn.com stepen holder nice enough to take some time with us Stephen are we at a point in the process for the Colts where for example if they're keeping the pick at 15 if Brock Bowers is there if Tyrion Arnold is there if Brian Thomas Jr who by all accounts is going to be there is there do we have any firm footing on yeah that's a that's a can't miss guy for them that that that matches up with their needs their wants there's not a a ton of debate there do we have any Clarity on two three maybe four guys that fit that mold if they keep the pick well I think just based on just just based on what we know of of their profile of of player now that's different than saying hey I specifically heard they like this guy right that's that's not what we're saying and and they've been they usually do a very good job of of keeping a lid on that Fort KNX for sure last year was was a little easier because it was like okay which quarterback right so um but anyhow this is different because they don't there's not that one position but I I think you can you can kind of profile what kind of player they like like for example Quan Mitchell uh at cornerback the Toledo quarterback I mean he's a guy who people point to as a a good fit for the Colts because you know he he gives them uh kind of the uh he's long and gives them kind of the the the build that they like and Chris B is very adamant about that like I I think he said once that like he won't draft a corner under 510 like he just will not do it or maybe under 5'11 I think I can't recall speaking of those Corners speaking of those Corners Steve even do you read into any of what he said about I mean I get it it's lying season what's he going to say oh our Corners are terrible like that we need to we need to get them out of town and find new guys that's not what he's going to say but like does does that do anything other than he's being a voice of the team talking up his guys so I've wondered about that and I actually think it I think what he says there does matter a little bit and here's why and and so to be specific what we're talking about is he said on Friday during his press conference that he actually has he he thinks very highly of that secondary he doesn't think that in year or two for some of those guys that the performance will be the same they also you know in his defense they also had just a a ridiculous slew of injuries that you imagine will not repeat itself but that being said uh the performance wasn't great look they were they had a they had a historic number of sacks last season and they still I think we 20th in opposing quarterback qbr well that has to reflect on the secondary somewhat right I mean like come on so so I think you know look he's but here's why I I do pay it some heed because he's done this before you know and he made he made an example of that or he offered an example on Friday by talking about our criticisms of the offensive line uh coming out of the 20 22 season right you know there's Matt Ryan and and and Company getting beat up repeatedly because the offensive line was just you know just getting overpowered and and coming out of that season he said no we're gonna give these guys a second second chance and a new lease on life and to their credit they stepped up and had a really good season last year now the I made this argument with j&v last night and I'll make it here again the difference is that group had had past success that offensive line that unit was very highly drafted most of those guys you know that is a little different scenario than you have in the secondary where in some cases you have undrafted prospects or if they are drafted like in the case of you know Juju Bren you don't have any history I mean he played last year but like he didn't play all that great he had some good some bad this is not Anthony Richardson who yes very limited time in the lineup but when he played it was fantastic right so so I think they's taking a little more of a leap here and I know that's a very long answer but but I think he has said this enough times now that that there is certainly a sense that like okay he might actually believe this and he has a history of doing this before so I don't think we can discount it the question is is he right Stephen in terms of like you talk about like corner right and and I mean obviously we know that that's an area of need but I keep going back to this if Bowers is available for those that are unfamiliar we're talking about the tight end from Georgia who appears to be the best yard after catch tight end in the draft and that's you look at teams that have had deep success you know you got to have a guy like that it would seem in terms of Bowers if he is on the board when they're on the clock at 15 is there any way they don't take him I think there is an argument for not taking him I'm just Devil's Advocate right okay just Devil's Advocate and the argument is that tight ends generally are not considered a premium position now yes I know the argument there is okay Chris Chris Ballard took a guard at number six overall but Quinton Nelson is easily the best guard in football and is a generational player so all I'm saying is if you if you want you know if you ask me a question like what's the argument for not doing it well that would be the argument now and and then just generally you know tight ends are they're almost kind of an accessory you know what I mean generally speaking now here's the other side of that coin and I think this is critical if the Colts make their evaluation and they see Brock Bowers as as a guy who can be Transcendent well then make the pick that's fine and here's why not only is the evaluation but also because if Saints sten's on board and he says look I can do some things with this guy that I can't do with anybody else well I'm in I'm in do it you know so that's where I think this could be a little bit of a unique situation uh Shan Sten I think deserves the the the benefit of the doubt you know if you give him a high-end weapon he can do a lot with it again generally I'm kind of agnostic on tight ends that early in the draft you know I there's only a handful that that go that high they just generally do not get picked that early but again if we're talking about a unique situation he's clearly unique player then I'm okay with it and I I guess we'll see whether they are too okay so I'm looking right here the Colts have one pick in each of seven rounds correct they have seven overall picks as of right now correct right correct okay this has to be some sort of a prop BET right so don't let that guy for uh was it the Raptors Deonte Porter don't let him know about this okay um if you had to prop bet it Stephen with seven picks which side of the ball are the majority of picks okay good question now I want to say if my bosses are listening we have a company policy I am not allowed to bet on the NFL so I want to be clear we're just talking here correct understood sorry sorry about the kid actually serious but kidding no one cares I'm just kidding so anyway um good question I would say or do they take a special teams specialist like in seven and then balance it where it's three three and one n i I mean look they're not going to look at it that way in terms of like do we need more offensive get they're not they're not but but I think if we if we had to have the conversation I feel like it's it's probably tilted a little more to defense um just because I think you're you're your high-end let me see they they have some high-end Talent on offense um they have some on defense too I mean you know Forest Buckner like is a ridiculous player obviously um but I think on on offense you have they also have a lot of investment on offense like you have uh you have the fourth overall pick which is an investment you have you know the offensive line major investment there right you're your top Receiver Michael Pitman $23 million a year right I mean you have uh Jonathan Taylor I mean you have a lot of high-end Talent over there and I think you have some good talent on defense uh in a couple cases you have some high-end Talent there as well but I think you could use more of it so we'll see I mean that's just a very hypothetical thing but but that's the way I would sort of uh forecast it as we sit here right now so you think over under seven and a half total picks made you think he's traded back at an assets or you think he's uh he's St put what do you think I think at some point you probably get a trade back and it may it may not be in the first round I that's the other thing you know keep in mind I mean you could do it in the third round and pick up a couple of fifth rounders or something you know and and that's there's value in that I mean and especially for the Colts I know it's not sexy but keep in mind if you're a fan think long term I mean the Colts they really do a good job on the back half of the draft I gotta give them a lot of credit they do do a good job of finding talent in the middle rounds and even the late rounds and and honestly that's often the difference between a team that drafts well and a team that doesn't because the bottom third of your roster is going to be those guys and those are the guys that gotta play when your starters get hurt if those guys suck your team's gonna suck and also as you extend guys and start frontloading salaries you got to have minimum wage guys that are able to play for you 100% so look it's it's like any business you know it all has to fit together there's a plan there a formula um look if the bottom third of your roster is is a disaster you're going to have problems you got to have depth and the depth comes from those middle and late rounds okay Stephen last thing and I'm going to do this in football language because this is the way that you know I find this amusing so I'm G to give you my pick right we they asked us at the station to each predict who the Colts are going to take and I'm going to give you the guy that I said and then I want you to grade my guess and here's how we're going to grade it we're not going to go a through F that's lame right you're going to gauge the validity of my guess on the Colts draft pick by telling me the solidarity of the guess of an NF equating it to an NFL quarterback so in other words if I give you the guess that is a perfect perfect guess then you'd say oh that's a Patrick Mahomes level guess if I give you one that is a disaster you would go no that guess is like Zack Wilson like there's just no CH it has no chance right if I give you one that you're like it's passable you'd be like okay that's kurk cousins okay my my prediction assuming that the Colts stay at 15 my prediction Brian Thomas Jr wide receiver LSU that would equate to what quarterback in terms of how strong a prediction that is uh I would [Music] say how about Trevor Lawrence okay which is like could be good but you got to catch him on the right day you know Fair could be great right you could go upset you know go get an upset in the playoffs or it could be you know God what happened to this guy so I don't know well somewhere somewhere in that you know hey let me remind you Trevor Lawrence did make a throw in Lucas oy stadium that led one Steven holder to say holy cow look at that throw right oh no question there's no question he he's done that multiple times that is definitely accurate so see yeah perfect pick perfect pick Brian Thomas Jun LSU okay I don't know where we got the perfect but okay well you believe you me if that's who they end up picking then drive by Friday because you're going to see me when I'm standing on top of Monument Circle shouting it from the mountain tops I'll be on top of the monument with Miss Liberty yelling it out for everybody and your hard hat that's that's that's right it will not be on the North side because they haven't had the steps finished yet um all right Stephen we appreciate the time as always all right guys talk soon Steven holder of espn.com speaking of and it listen it's plus 225 by the way for the Colts to take a wide receiver with their first pick that was a dab one to that kind of thing what are the odds it's only for first player drafted the St what are the odds that by what's the one-year anniversary of me joining you guys on this program was that in was it in August AUST it was August yeah Jimmy said that Eddie like he's had it circled on his calendar for a while right the the day of of dread for would you like to know the exact date what was it August what do you know wait hold let him count his tallies that he hased to the desk August 21st okay so August 21st when we are having our one-year anniversary of doing this program of the company the foundation of the company yep and Steven holder was our first guest was he really yes okay what are the odds on August 21st that this work outside on Monument Circle on the front North steps is complete they haven't done anything I drove past it to today and I'm like what is going on there's it's fenced off there's like SL it's like they went to Lowe's and they got slabs of marble or granite or whatever and there's always like one guy working and and one guy like sitting next to a whe wheelbarrow like playing Tetris and I'm like what are we doing that's certainly me the tetris guy plus 250 Tetris is great plus 250 maybe plus 250 well I'm cuz the option is is it done or not done so it can't be plus 5,000 we're into San de Fuentes odds here right I mean come on there's no it's an a proposition it right like it's so you got to figure out the odds over there we don't want the J cook sports book to get its ass handed to it in the first non sports proper tell right now it is a there is zero chance that that is done because it's literally one guy works 15 minutes and then goes and I don't know what they do but there it's lit it looks the exact same as it did last August so the query sports book is saying plus 10,000 is what we're going at I'm going what was Santiago de la fuentes what was he he was like plus 250,000 or something they took it off the board at some point yeah it's ridiculous right there's I'm I'm GNA make this prediction zero chance it's done by August zero chance that chain link vence comes down I hope I'm wrong I hope I'm wrong but when I become mayor the first thing we're do is going to finish that right because we want everybody to be able to stand on the steps and witness the parade of the scooters coming down Meridian before they all go in White River and then next don't even get me started on the pick handlebar things or whatever those are called the little the people screaming that think that they're actually riding a bike handlebar yeah yeah yeah yeah well guess what Canal there it goes the laundry room for as long as e e e e e e e e e St holder for his time by the way uh this is a good question somebody just asked me via text you can always text the program 317 523 39288 317523 9288 text anytime um and 20% of the time I reply no I'm just kidding I usually try to reply to everybody uh Jake downtown Indie Inc said in December that the north half of Monument Circle renovation will be done by the All-Star Game good news it appears as though we're getting the allstar game in 2028 uh also this question which is my favorite question uh Hey Jake what are the odds you actually put put a campaign together be uh for mayor what do you think I what I get like 2% would I get 2% of the votes if I run for mayor 2% is what I'm shooting at just for ego 2% of the vote would I get 2% you got to have 7% to stay on the ballot for an independent party don't you something like that I think so so can I get 2% of the mayoral vote I'd have to quit the job because you I'm the wrong person to ask I have no way to mod ify that like I would say yes but I don't know what I'm like what how many how many people is that what are we saying there that's a good question because I don't know if it means 2% of registered or 2% of actual people that turn out but here here's my do you want to know my biggest campaign platform yes okay here's my biggest campaign platform I've mentioned this before but it's been a few years so I'll do it quickly huh potholes potholes are my grandfather on basically the last thing that he ever said to me Jak I can't believe that I've lived in a lifetime where I've seen the common place of the airplane the man walking on the moon and the the start of the internet but they still haven't found an asphalt that doesn't pothole I mean potholes are kind of a natural tendency for weather extremes unfortun it's just a it's just a reality right admittedly though there are some areas of the city where like the I know the weather extremes are just worse there or listen 52nd Street also known as Dresden is a popular area but here here is my when I become mayor here's what we're we're doing okay two things two things that we're doing and I know that there's like imminent domain there's all kinds of rules that that probably violate like me just coming in and doing this but it doesn't matter when I become mayor this is what we're doing first thing we're going to do all of these empty grocery stores and other such places that have been lying empty now for like 10 years if it's over a certain amount of square feet and it's been a certain amount of time since anybody has actually been in them then we are taking them over by imminent domain we're locking them and then we are hiring a combination of the unemployed along with people who were incarcerated and we are building institutionalized siiz bunk beds clearing out the insides of these said places putting bunk beds in them getting people to donate board games and VCRs and old televisions putting them in there building men's and women's like like they have at the State Fair showers in the corner of each respective place and then once everything's good to go where you have 200 bunk beds in there board games and televisions you lock them up and you have an emergency emergency displacement shelter for natural disasters that happen anywhere in the state of Indiana tornado happens in Henryville Indiana you have 80 people displaced no problem we have a place where we're going to bust them into Indianapolis they can live there for three weeks whatever it might be or neighboring states if need be and you collect some taxes from those States and in addition to that can also be used for temporary housing for the less fortunate if necessary that's the first thing we're doing the second thing so Jake where are you going to get the money well thank you for asking we're going to go we're gonna get the money Jake thank you Eddie I appreciate that we're going to go to Union Station and we're going to say to Union Station enough's enough we've had a bunch of stuff that we tried to do here since it was the place place that was awesome and everybody loved going there until it turned into 19 fudge factories and 18 magic shops and now we're just going to end the madness and we're going to quit messing around and we are going to put the largest sports book in the in the midwest in Union Station we're going to open it up all hands on deck come down we're going to we're going to utilize that and we are going to have legalized gambling in Indianapolis at Union Station and the money that is appropriated for that is going to be spent in two areas and only two well you got Jimmy's vote the first area is we are going to use it to finally quit messing around and we're going to develop a light rail system like they have in St Louis that starts with lines that go in the four different directions and connect all areas of the city so that if you live in fisers you do a parking ride you can take the light rail system all the way down Union station's going to be the Hub of it then you get the Western Line to go to the airport then you get the Southern Line to go down towards un then you get the Northwest line that goes up towards zionville okay you connect the whole city that way you pay for it based on the money that we're going to make from people from Illinois and Ohio coming over and betting on Ohio State in Illinois and taking all their money and then the anything beyond that once that's taken care of the rest of the Surplus goes absolutely straight into the schools at Indianapolis Public Schools and the different public Township schools throughout Maran County uh and that's it so we are going to have great schools we're going to have transportation where people can get safely to and from games and to our sports book and everything else downtown and we're also going to have uh no more scooters and no more pedal bar because we don't need them because we have the light rails system and and then if something happens terrible in one of the surrounding areas of Indiana or neighboring states where people need temporary 3 we to one month housing until a town gets back on its feet we have that because we have put people to work to build all of these things in these buildings that are eyesores otherwise there you go query 2028 now what about a law that prohibits people from doing construction on two major highways at the same time well again here's the thing the yes the construction issues have been and again that that come let's like Milwaukee people like Milwaukee every summer all they're doing is construction I'm like it's because you can't do it in January right um but we're going to have the tax dollars from my Sportsbook to be able to facilitate a faster operation in terms of Road repairs and things like that we're going to have we're going to be able to pay more manpower and then and I and listen Open disclaimer I I am not necessarily I I not at all a partaker but I'm not opposed to it uh we can explore the possibility of strong arming the state of Indiana into legalization of marijuana for tax purposes but that's a whole different talk show down the road that gets way too political my thing's not political it's just common sense right yeah I would agree with that there was not a ton of uh there's not no real political aspects involed you you know what my campaign slogan is going to be boom just hit me right now and I'm copyrighting it I'm trademarking it so nobody nobody think about it you ready okay my campaign slogan query 2028 I don't even know if that's a mayoral year but it is now it's going to start with a little image of Union Station you ready for this give it to me and it's going to say lots of dollars start with cents that's good is good admittedly it's good I mean come on that's my campaign slogan right there query 2028 lots of dollars start with cents who's on board 2% I get 2% I'm more than milk I get 2% from that right thought it was going to be something like no queries just answers but that that works too that's all so good right query's the Man For answers dollars start with cents I print the t-shirts man print the banners hang them around 465 just not during construction season go to 1075 the.com and reg e e e e e e e e e e will play this at the rally afterwards but we're just celebrating the fact cool and the gang is in the Hall of Fame now right yes uh we're going to go out of Jacksonville by the way talk JP Shadrick our friend who covers the Jags about what Jacksonville might be doing in the draft as we take a look what the Colts are going to be up against um we have tickets to give away which we will do in just a second for the sansio Grand Prix which is Saturday May 11th this of course on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to get things kicked off in the festivities for the Indianapolis 500 Barber is between now and then that's this weekend but over the course of last weekend I was of course in Long Beach calling the race and Dale joins us on the show to talk about that hi Dale Hey Jake Jimmy how you guys doing we are hanging good uh I just wanted to give a you a shout out Jake and uh thank you for the Sol you gave me on the Sunday I got a group of guys that we text during the race and uh Jimmy at the start of the race what we thought was the start of the race is like it was showing on TV like they went two laps or three laps and my pH my phone's blowing up and uh they weren't saying what was going on on television so I said hey man I'll text jakee he's not going to respond he's working but I'll give it a shot and sure enough he did text me back explained everything that was going on and then text me again and gave me a followup and it was really cool I got all my guys off my back and we enjoy the we enjoyed the rest of the race Dale that's what I do I try to get guys buddies off their back right that's what that's what I try to do well I never would if it was n500 or something I never would have done it but I figured on the Long Beach I didn't know where you were at calling the race but I thought maybe between laps you'd have a chance to at least answer I well here's the thing appreciate that um I am on a scissor lift in the middle of Shoreline Drive literally so they go past me right like if I fell out of it I would land right in the middle of the pathway going into turn one as they blend out and then that's they come right back at me going into turn six but um you are always welcome to text me during the 500 as well the only problem there is a lot of times it's delayed because there's so much cell traffic that it's hard to get a signal right and so yeah but you know as I tell people all the time Dale and I appreciate not only that you watched the race but that you reached out and hopefully listened to a little of it as well what happened was at the beginning of the race they had a problem with timing and scoring and so they couldn't get the timing and scoring running and so the first two laps of the race they ran it under caution until timing and scoring could give them the okay that they were ready to score the race and they went ahead and and counted those two laps and that's what s up on what's that did it just sneak up on the race just snuck up on him um but the it's not neurosurgery right I mean like what I'm doing up there is not hard to do it's a ton of fun to do and I'm up there with my phone and and there's downtime during the course of it and so he texted me and I said yeah here's what's going on sent it back and it was fun and I'll try to do the same if there are any questions that happened during the course of the 500 uh Eddie how do you want to give the tickets away speaking of the 500 so we're two days away from the Colts selecting whomever with the 15 pick so let's go color two okay two days away so caller number two 239 1070 you will be at the race that is two away on the indie car schedule because they have Barber upcoming this weekend you can hear it right here on this station and then on May 11th the sanso Grand Prix on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway a full day of fun and activity for that including the race itself caller number two you are on your way and we are on our way to the home of Maxwell House Coffee Jacksonville next 935 and 1075 e e e e e e e doesn't seem like long ago I guess it really wasn't that our next guest joined us at the Indiana Convention Center as part of the NFL scouting combine he of course covering the Jaguars down in Jacksonville for jaguars.com Jr Shadrick joins us on the program and or JP excuse me and JP who I can't read my own writing uh I want to begin with this Jags selecting and let's just assume tentative right because we know that teams can move around a little bit maybe move up move down um but selecting 17th and then again at 48 I kind of get the feeling that Jacksonville is in the same position as Indianapolis and that is that they're going to be tempted by offensive Firepower to build around their franchise quarterback but I don't know the more esoteric needs of Jacksonville where do things seem to be trending for them after the combine at 17 yeah first of all good afternoon good to be back with you and you know they did a lot of work in free agency and you know they got a a veteran defensive tackle in Eric Armstead to come in they got a veteran Center in Mitch moris um they pluged some holes on the offensive line they resigned the left guard they extended the Right Guard and Brandon Sheriff um they got a couple of Veteran defensive backs one that can play safety another that's a corner um but they don't necessarily have that other side starting Corner U CB1 if you will so for me I think that's probably the priority going into the draft is they need somebody who can go out there I think and play on the outside and in a new defense they play a lot of press man at least that's the idea of this new defense what does that really feel like um so for me yeah offensive Firepower is great they feel like they have some of that as well already they got Gabe Davison to fill that spot of Ridley and they got the other veteran players that they have at wide receiver and at tight end but for me at least right now a guy who can start right away a corner is probably the priority next on my list personally would be an offensive tackle because they're going into the final year of the left tackle cam Robinson the final year of the Swing tackle Walker what does the future hold there if you have a guy you feel like can start either right or left tackle you've got Anton Harrison on the other side so um do they move up fans want them to move up and get a wide receiver that's the flashy play but for the long-term stability I think it's either a corner or an offensive lineman in my opinion JP Shadrick is our guest jaguars.com JP when I look at their receiving core I I think it's solid Z Jones Christian Kirk you mentioned the acquisition of Gabe Davis from my seat from afar neither of those neither of those three are wide receiver ones I think they're a highlevel collection of wide receiver twos and you know Z Jones at his best day is a very very good wide receiver with Doug Peterson's offense with the mindset of that war room cuz I'm with you defense is clearly a need in solidifying their cornerback room is probably priority number one but do they feel like they need a wide receiver one in a perfect world for what Trevor Lawrence is and what Doug Peterson wants out of this group or is it no Lawrence is good he will Elevate these wide receivers to the point that a collection of twos is is perfectly fine yeah I think and I think they've been pretty consistent with the idea that they don't necessarily need a wide receiver one like that big now if he's there and he's on your team that's great obviously don't turn that down if he's available but they can go out with so-called wide receiver twos a group of them if they know where they're going and they're good enough to get there consistently and they're smart enough to play in this offense and change and run different routes and know everybody's role that's part of this uh situation too they need uh High football IQ wide receivers and skilled players that are able to adjust on the Fly um that aren't uh overblown with all the information and can can adjust just and that's what their ideal offensive weapon I think is so that's why at least in my gut it would take a lot for them to really move up to get a receiver because they feel like they can go play right now with the guys they have and they got the tight end Evan ingr who really acts as a fourth receiver and they've got weapons that they can go play with so you know why give up all that Equity to go up and get a guy when you don't necessarily need that um would you love to have it sure it's great but he's got to be the right guy it's not just you know speed and ability yes those are very important but it's you know how does he fit in this offense how can he how can he adjust with the quarterback um is he smart enough to to be able to adjust on the Fly and have that IQ to go with it that's a big piece of what they're trying to get done here our guest is JP Shadrick we're talking about the Jacksonville Jaguars uh JP you know every year there's a team in the NFL that's like the trendy this is the next step forward franchise it's been the Chargers for like 15 straight years but you know last year the Jaguars joined in that conversation for certain and I know they were injured and there were a lot of things that went against them that probably shifts now to Houston and the Texans now become the team that everybody kind of keeps an eye on maybe Detroit is that Advantage Jacksonville I know that Health was an issue but is this team in terms of its psyche one that is better off kind of without that Spotlight on them as opposed to one that everybody was paying to did did that pressure get to them a year ago yeah I don't know if it was necessarily the pressure right I mean they got to eight and three and they were in first place by a couple games at that point yeah the injury started to mount up um you know but there were some things behind the scenes early in that season they were winning some games but the defense wasn't necessarily great obviously they made changes on the coaching staff on that side of the ball after the year and you know I don't I know if it was necessarily the pressure I think there was a lot of things internally and then all of a sudden the injuries piled on top of that and once that ball started rolling downhill Houston got hot Jaguars weren't and it was all she wrote and really all it took was just one win they just couldn't figure it out um you know in the last week of that season and and couldn't get it done um so the pressure okay uh they didn't have any pressure to years ago because they were so far out of four games back and just went on some crazy run that you'll never be able to replicate again with all these comeback wins in the regular season to even get to the playoffs um so I mean they proven what they are I mean they're a nine- win team and they've done it two different ways the last two years they did it coming back two years ago and they did it collapsing last year so can the ball bounce it away a little bit more and get to 11 wins probably could it go the other way and go down to seven wins yeah I mean that's kind of where they are right now so can they fill enough holes and stay healthy enough to get to that 11 win spot um that's the big question and I don't know necessarily if it's you know Spotlight or lack thereof spot light's gonna be there that's just what they are I mean they've already resigned big money contracts to to um Josh Allen of course outside linebacker a quarterback deal at some point could be coming I think they're still talking so hey you start paying that kind of money to a quarterback and a defensive end and all these big Dame players the spotlight is going to be on you whether you're in first place or last place so uh get ready because the expectations will come with that from down in Jacksonville JP Shadrick is our guest JP there's a world in a scenario where both the Jaguars and the Colts are coveting cornerback with their first round pick both of them have seen mock to them the likes of tyan Arnold or quinan Mitchell depending on where you look at things an ESPN mock I saw the other day had Nate Wiggins to Jacksonville out of Clemson at 17 there's just two spots separating these divisional Rivals when you're looking at their war room and as they're measuring things up could there be a need for them there's other teams that need Corner sure but could there be a need for them to be like you know what the Colts also need to solidify their cornerback room and we don't want to be playing against that guy for the next five years we need to move up to get ahead of them yeah I mean it really kind of depends on how far right I mean I I don't see them moving into the top 10 for it that's going to cost you a whole lot and let's say 14 with the Saints just for the sake of argument in this hypothetical scenario that's three spots right I mean that's in that in in that scenario okay maybe if you have a guy that you really his head and shoulders above the other two or three guys that we've talked about okay maybe you make that move and go get it and just get it done with um now I mean you got to make sure that guy's right though I mean if you're going to start giving up equity um even though it's only three spots up uh you better make darn sure he's the perfect fit for you and you know that that's a possibility I think for both sides right because you know the Jaguars are going to need it Colts might have to do that if they want to jump up and feel like there's one guy that's really standing out for the Jaguars and vice versa so uh but Tren buul Is Not Afraid now the GM of the Jaguars will pull the trigger on a trade and mid draft multiple times um but these are a little different when you're moving up in the first round those become very costly very quick he's more apt to do something like that you know on day two and move up in the second round like trade a couple of third fourth round picks to move up earlier in the second round to do that we've seen that multiple times in his tenure here but the first round trade up uh they've traded back into the first round at the bottom half which is not as expensive they've done that a couple times in fact um so but this High I mean it's going to have to be something that they feel like is a game changer well I guess we'll find out Thursday because we really haven't seen that type of trade from Trent bling yet JP it's really interesting is it not the AFC South because for years you know Tennessee's obviously been solid and they're probably the one that that now has the most catching up to do to me and I realize you're covering the Jaguars for jaguars.com and so you're not focusing on Houston and Indianapolis but we all have to be aware of what the others are doing just to be able to adequately cover it right and does feel like from my standpoint Indianapolis Jacksonville and Houston are kind of on even footing in terms of trying to be the one to separate themselves but am I being biased with from an Indianapolis lens there and in fact are the Colts a tick behind Houston and Jacksonville you you see it or handicap at how you know I think uh the unknown in in India is the quarterback situation is Richardson going to be back and healthy and ready and the guy that they feel like he can be I I think he is I think he can be but we haven't seen that you know he's been out so what what's really the future hold for that that's the big question mark and I think that's probably why from the outside looking in they might be a step behind right now in reality you know three weeks in he's playing well and they're winning games it doesn't matter just look at the standings at that point um but you got in Houston obviously Stroud going into year two all the weapons they kind of are building around him and of course here in Jacksonville uh with an offense that's solidified now with a quarterback with wide receivers with a defense and some players on that um it it does feel like Houston Jacksonville then Indy kind of a half step behind and then Tennessee who knows what's going to happen there with all the changes they've had so that's at least my view uh going in but again like if if if Houston or excuse me if Indianapolis comes out of the gates early that changes the whole dynamic three weeks in you know come come October we're we're talking about Indie uh rolling this thing early like all you got to do is go out and play well and if the quarterback is there and doing that then that changes the whole dynamic what are you expecting JP Shadrick joins us what are you expecting in terms of day two selections wiggle room areas that will still need to be addressed if they are at that point more comfortable with taking a swing at a luxury pick like a wide receiver because we've talked about how deep that is or or maybe addressing another area of key need what does day two shape up like in Jacksonville yeah Jaguars have I think the 48th pick so it's a little deeper down in that second round so they've got a couple of fourth round picks they can play with they need to package something and maybe move up a few spots to get something you know like I said if it's you know if they go Corner first I still think you got to get think about the future at the outside of the offensive line Anton Harrison can play left tackle but he is the right tackle last year what does the future hold there can he swing back over to left if you draft a right tackle a true right tackle and then maybe you figure out you know do you still want to play with Cam Robinson or move him or you know Walker little is going into his last year so there's big questions there uh wide receiver I think probably certainly could be in play for the Jaguars there in the second round because you know like we said you don't need a true number one guy to trade up and go get but it's a deep wide receiver class and it feels like these wide receiver classes are going to be like this for the years to come just the way college football is played now so you're going to have skilled wide receivers and guys that can go play for you um but it's just a matter of that IQ part again so that for me it's you know probably offensive line wide receiver if it's not Corner in the first round and then then go from there after that it's a crap shoot I mean it is best available and I think they've done enough in free agency to fill enough holes to be able to go play so you're look at at depth at that point and you know what kind of numbers do you have for the future JP my following question I'm asking from a how it affects the Colts standpoint and I'll explain what I mean by that with your answer and that is how much does Jacksonville use Trevor Lawrence's legs and his ability to get outside the pocket because in college he did that a lot but do they take advantage of that at all they did some last year um you know now some of that too is just the way he runs he's not necessarily A A thick Runner if you will like he's he's not going to run to contact he's not they don't sneak a lot you know I mean he'll do that jump over the line kind of sneak but they don't do design draws with him right it didn't feel like that now they'll do some of that read option stuff they did some of that last year um they they didn't shove it down your throat all the time but a couple three times a game they'd mix it in and he would keep it and run for a key first down you know and slide down after about eight yards that was kind of the idea but the problem with Trevor has been ball protection holding on to the football and fumbling and when he's in open field running like fumbling just dropping the football like not even getting hit so that's been really the concern with him when he gets out and runs sometimes he can be a little careless with the football and he's got to be cleaner and yeah he does have the ability to run and do that I don't think especially obviously if they pay him all this money at some point which they might um you know you don't want him running around and taking hits and so he's got to do a better job of down protecting the ball because they do use that sometimes the the running game for the quarterback the reason I ask it is because I I do think that teams draft sometimes based on having to to play against what they know is you know like within the division like I really do think that the Colts for example when they had pton Manning you know they made a concerted effort to go out and get really good Edge rushers because they knew teams were going to have to pass against them playing from behind more often than not right absolutely and so if you are Indianapolis you're looking at okay we have a Le you know in CJ stra within the division where we're going to have to have some flexibility on a defensive line uh to be able to get after mobile quarterback and and yet you wonder with Lawrence do they do they kind of attack the same way with Trevor Lawrence because if you're Jacksonville you can pretty much look at it and say we have to have a defensive line that can go against mobile quarterbacks because you're seeing St you're seeing strad you're seeing Richardson who theoretically is going to be the same and I guess maybe Levis remains to be seen but I was curious what the Colts May strategize in terms of what they're going to see within the division if you get what I'm saying yeah I'm with you and it's not certainly the mobility of Richardson that's not what Trevor's ever gonna be I mean but he does have something he's not Dan Marino right he's not standing back there like a statue he's he's able to to kind of move around move the pocket if needed and yes the read option game is in play now their number one priority is the passive football they're not going to uh sit back there and and fool you and and try to do that all the time they're going to be more pass and run and you know but when they have to strategically they will mix it in and that's that's pretty much the Trevor Lawrence game JP we've talked about this from the Colts perspective and I think we talked about it with you a little bit during our last conversation at the convention center during the combine so much of a general manager's job today yes it is f focusing internally building within building to your blueprint your game plan not worrying about what's happening outside your walls but we saw last year to some extent the other teams in the division the Texans the Colts and the Titans realizing that a from their internal timelines it was time to go get a quarterback because look in division the best quarterback is currently Trevor Lawrence this is an arms race look around the AFC this is what needs to happen and so reactionary moves albeit beneficial to internal goals wind up happening from the Jaguar standpoint how much of let's say they take Tyrion Arnold out of Alabama just in a hypothetical because I think a lot of people have him high up on one of the best corners in this draft how much of that is both cu the Colts could say the same thing is both a clear need that needs to be addressed while also realizing both in division and we'll keep it there for the sake of our Market in division oh it's it's Stefan Diggs now that's paired up there with CJ Stout how much of that is reactionary while also achieving internal goals I think that's the perfect scenario right I mean it's somebody you need anyway and I mean just look at the Firepower they have in Houston now you mentioned Diggs but the other guys they have there tank Dell and all these players that can run I mean these guys can fly so you got to go get guys that can defend some of that now part of it the other argument is okay is it more pass rush uh does that help the corners the corners will tell you otherwise depending on who the corner is the corner helps the pass rush out I mean that's just the perspective but um they feel like they have some pass rush here now obviously with Josh Allen resigned and Tron Walker to help out some of those corners but you still need top topend guys and I mean this organization in the past now this is the distant pass has not had great results from first round cornerbacks here they've only done it three times uh Fernando Bryant was back in 99 that's I was still in high school it's a long time ago um and then of course Jaylen Ramsey was um you know the the pick he was the one to pick it didn't work out here because of some things off the field and he wanted out and got out of here and then CJ Henderson was just the wrong pick and he didn't even make it and got traded about a year or two in so they've got to have a guy that hits and if you start having to restock those first round corners that you had here then you're just doubling down and that not just at that position they've had issues in the first round but getting those guys to The second contract has just been a struggle around here over the years um but especially the corner position they've tried to Back Field that a couple of times and have been unsuccessful so um if you're going to slow down those guys in the division twice a year you got to have top tier guys to match their top tier guys there's no doubt you know I was just thinking about this JP and I don't know if you can do this um so we might have to to do this quietly which is not a good idea to discuss on radio but but Jim mer Jim Mer's got this contest right if you can predict the CT schedule exactly then he's going to give you a million bucks okay now if you get any sort of Intel ahead of the release on when the Jaguars Colts games are going to be and I can chalk those in and then I win the million then I'll owe you roughly 12% because that's 12% of the schedule so and then I've just got to do this with a couple of other people and we're good to go now are you can I chalk you in for this it it sounds like I need more than 12 because the risk there's a lot of risk on my like 25 now wait a minute but then I'm gonna run out of money because if I got to ask the the Houston folk to do the same right that's a you problem that's not a problem but here's the thing no but but here's the thing I I just and again this is the way my brain works you and the and the folks in Houston you got no state income tax so I don't owe you as much because you're going to skate a little bit more than me right because I'm going to have to pay a little bit on this so so we're reporting this I don't know we reporting this that's true well here's the thing it's gonna be it's going to be well documented if we win right if I win right so now all of a sudden I'm gonna have to report it so that's this conversation never happen believe you me and if you see and and believe me if you see our ratings you're right right I can assure you in all seriousness now we won't know I mean they gosh you schedu what early May usually the last few years that so we really don't have an ankling at all until right there the day of so uh your guess is as good as mine right now I will say though they've done a pretty good job the last few years of putting key divisional games in the last three weeks of the Season at least a couple of them you know two of the last three or three of the last four sometimes are divisional games late in December early January and that's what it's all about come uh come the last quarter of the season so you could probably at least ink one of those in there I would guess Colts are going to open against the Jags at home and then they're gonna play the Jags in Jacksonville in week 16 I mean it's not farfetched you know just going with it I'm going with it and here's the thing I've already written you out you just said that you're not helping out with this project so when I win the million buddy I'll come down there and hang out and listen to Leonard Skinner but you ain't getting a cut I gave you a good idea of when they could be just based you how about this I'll buy your drinks at locals how's that good deal all right sounds good always a pleasure JP we appreciate it thanks guys have a great day JP Shadrick again jaguars.com down in Jacksonville one of the Jacksonville would be a cool place to live good weather lots of beaches you gotta if you like coffee the whole city smells like it you listen to some Leonard skard get to shout do all randomly that's right it's cool I like Jacksonville Jacksonville is cool and it's it's kind like it's you know it's more Georgia than Florida to some extent some will fight you over that but it's cool world's largest cocktail party there right Florida and Georgia game yeah yep they got a lot going on is the the Gator Bowl still played there it is right didn't Indiana go to the Gator Bowl in the co year they loved each other and went down to the Gator Bowl is that right I believe so I think you're right yeah Eddie what's going on with it is there Eucalyptus in your Macha te all of a sudden you're no you seem zoned out over there no I'm here those what are those watermelon Sour Patch watermelon things you seem awfully granny you notice this about Eddie since he came back from Seattle it's weird right just a new Vibe for Eddie gar Eddie went to Seattle and somehow became a different guy he came back and he's just like he's like one aspirin from aoma over here right I'm just saying are you going to enter the gym meray contest are we eligible I don't know for eligible my mother-in-law asked me about this last night and I was like first off the ability to be able to do that like to which he replied they're playing the Bears first game I was like okay all right we're started there we go I mean it is like it does feel like you know here's another one there's a promotion that indie car has going uh with Laguna sea and it's very cool right and that is if you if you were able to accurately predict the podium finish of the Indianapolis 500 then you get I think it's like tickets and then a two-seater ride at the at Laguna sea when we're out there which is very cool but then I thought about it I'm like man the the statistical odds of correctly predicting when place in show at the Indie 500 you get very and I'm this isn't a negative this is just an observation and I like it because you're standing up for the common man you get very upset when the prize does not match the difficulty of what's being asked for example the golf shot at Hinkle uh earlier uh this year or earlier in the basketball season that was like five grand to get in that tiny hole or whatever it was and it's almost impossible right it's never done you do not like when the prize does not match the difficulty of the task and I like by the way when people got like super mad at me when I said like you know a private school does this because like a week later remember it was like University of correct like nebras Carney or something and somebody hit it and got like 15 grand I'm like wait a minute little private school can't you and people are like dude that's a sponsor thing you're an idiot I'm like I know that I mean come on I'm not a total I'm a but not a total now but it's layered the do you know the stat like what honestly are the statistical chances that you would get all 17 correct I mean almost impossible like like it's it's easier in theory then the one time that question comes up every year is the bracket challenge right people say what's the um what's the terminology for like the the statistical like the number of probabil per thank you permutations same thing probability but how many how many permeations are there for 17 combination I mean it's infinite it almost right you uh to to bring out my full Indiana you failed algebra five times my Math's no good so uh we're going to have to ask somebody else about that don't even get me started on Vin diagrams I mean come on all I know from Vin diagrams is somewhere there's some restaurant where somebody both operates the cash register weights tables Cooks cleans the floor and seats people I'm like good lord it's a lot going on there in the construction business and tired of dealing with the indifference e e e e e e e e Eddie you have run the math the odds of nailing the 17 game schedule for the Colts that Jim mer is going to pay at a million dollars for there are how many combinations so you have 18 technically because you have to factor in the bi-week and a of this so you have 18 weeks not 17 okay it is I'm hoping I'm getting this correct 6 quintilian 42 quadrillion 373 trillion 705 billion 728 sorry I got it all wrong I got to redo it hold on in my mind I had it right I skipped over you have thousand million I believe is the answer Jake and that's only going to pay a million bucks if you nail that again going back to you fighting for the Common Man the size of the task does not mazee the price it's 6 quadrillion 42 trillion 373 billion 75 million 728 th000 it's not bad just imagine if you get one if you get within one you should get get something right uh Pacers have better odds in game two let's hope that's correct joining us now to talk about it from Bal Sports television of course you see him doing Sidelines pre and postgame as well with Eddie Gil Jeremiah Johnson joins us on the show uh JJ I will begin with this question and that is from your standpoint in preparation for this game do we have any more information regarding Giannis and his availability for Milwaukee I don't want to get off topic but was could Brillion a number that was referenced because I would have no idea how many zeros that is uh it's quad it's five zeros right is that right brilliant here's the thing Jeremiah and I'm gonna my dad was a math teacher and I don't I don't recall that number ever being mentioned or uh seen with my own eyes Well here here's what's weird Eddie went out to Seattle Eddie Garrison right he went out to Seattle he saw BOS and then Eddie came back from Seattle and he was eating these gummy bears and Sour Patch Kids for like 3 days and he's been smiling but not making any sense at all ever since so I I'm not really certain what's going on there right so well he found my phone number and he text me this morning so at least he's accomplishing the task of the job listen it took him 45 minutes to send that text it's it's very odd all right well to your original question uh Giannis and DMO not quite as long of a name or as quadrillion or a number uh doubtful was what what the uh injury report designated on sun but doc River said he really had not done anything in practice with the team He's listed as doubtful for this game uh just listening to them talk about him it did not sound as though there was any expectation from Milwaukee side of things uh that they were planning on him for game two I suppose you have to be ready for anything but um I'm going to believe the doubtful designation and say it's unlikely he'll play tonight JJ do you think they have identified what went wrong I know there was a multitude of factors that cost them game W but do you feel like now roughly 48 Hours removed that they have properly identified root cause well it's more like what you said at the beginning there were a multitude of factors and it's not just one thing defensively their coverages uh they have a system and they're they're planning to attack the Bucks in a certain way and they didn't do that in the first half now they made some changes and adjustments in the second half but it's not like what they did in the second half was necessarily exactly what they wanted to do to start the game they had to adjust because of what Damen ler did however what they weren't doing how they were not really communicating led to some of the situations where he either had some good looks or there were some times uh bucks were driving to the basket and you didn't have much resistance or help and that's the defense you saw maybe in the first part of the Season not once they they changed things and then offensively you know so many times when you ask or you ask a question about offense it goes back to defense more with the Pacers than some teams because they don't they don't want to get in a half court execution game they're good at that or they're they're okay with that I should say because they can pass the ball around the perimeter and and try to get the open looks but they want to start with some some pace and getting out and going and getting across half court and you know less than four seconds and then beating the other team down the court when you don't get those stops you're taking that out of the net and then you're getting that pressure from Milwaukee extended even Beyond half court they're getting the ball out of Tyrese halberton they didn't adjust well to that they've seen that kind of Defense throughout the season go back to December when how when every game teams were trying to take the ball out of tyres halton's hand so this should not be something that is new maybe a little surprising that the Bucks went there from the opening tip in game one but I think they'll be ready to make those adjustments in game two was Tyrese halberton too passive in game one well farbe for me to say but it did seem like you wanted a little more aggressiveness and he I think he acknowledges much I don't that he said that you know I should have shot more but he he simply said he needed to be better but I think there's kind of an understanding that your your best player needs to be just more impactful I I think they were too um they were a little too passive offensively when he got the ball out of his hands there wasn't enough of an effort to get it back to him if they're going to double him and someone else gets the ball then that's going to create an opportunity where you can continue to move it around and maybe get it back to him they're not going to keep the two players on him while he stands so at some point you've got to have some second action where he gets it back and you're looking to get him more shots and and Pascal cakam shouldered a heavy load and he did a really good job but he needs more help and that's exactly what tyres halberton told me yesterday is you know Pascal played great hit some tough mid-range twos but we need to do more to help him out and I just I just could tell in in the brief comments that he shared on Sunday then after practice yesterday uh what happened in game one does not sit well with him he he's not someone who's going to react to everything that's said about him but I think he's aware and he didn't need to to read or hear anything from you know reporters or fans or anyone else to know he needed to make a bigger imprint on game one and I think he'll have a determined look from the opening tip tonight Jeremiah Johnson is our guest talking about the Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks game two in the Eastern Conference playoffs listen JJ I don't it's not you know I'm not trying to put you in a position of like let's sit here and just have like a complain Fest about Indiana I mean I think we know that game one was disappointing but there were a couple of players that that you would have liked to have seen get jump started more that we've seen good minutes from McConnell comes to mind toppen comes to mind but D you've been around this team all year when they've had games like that they've had to bounce back from does it become schematic changes from Rick Carlile or what is the s or is it more so just hey you know what wipe the edge of sketch clean let's go back to the drawing board what just kind of has been their way of addressing these sorts of Bounce backs yeah I mean a lot of the words that you hear from the assistant coaches when I talk with them at halftime of games you talk about Force physicality uh you can tell when when when the guys are defending and they're really just sort of getting in the space of the the guy they're defending but showing their hands because the key is you got to be physical without fouling they didn't just apply enough pressure on the defensive end and then that led them to trying to do a little bit too much offensively the bench is a question mark that I wasn't sure either way entering the season the series because uh it's just it's not usually as big a factor in the postseason but much like Pace when they say the game slows down I wonder sometimes does it have to be a big difference now um the second unit just did not have that spark and that impact that you wanted to see that you saw all season I think that maybe in shorter stints um I think you'll see TJ McConnell and Obi topping play better but um you're still in a playoff series you're going to rely on your stars and Pascal cakam did everything you would have asked him to do even Miles Turner probably wishes some of those early shots he had that he could have them back because everyone was missing long and a lot of the misses up and down the roster from guys that are shooting High 30% from three even to 40% they just weren't close so they really you know up and down with the exception of Pascal shakum no one was in any kind of Rhythm and I still say it gets back to uh playing with a little more Edge on the defensive end and then everything else can take care of itself so I mean look for early on in that first quarter look for guys to just literally try to find out the the flavor of chewing gum of Damen lard to borrow a line from Jean Hackman I mean you just want to be all over him you can't foul and you got to be careful because he's he's a vet and he's tricky and if you have your hands anywhere on him he's going to try to get that shot up but refs will let you be more physical you have to take advantage of that Jeremiah Johnson is our guest covers the Pacers for Bal Sports JJ Ben Shepard and again blame can be thrown around altogether no one really shot the ball well outside of SE yakum Ben Shepard looked like a rookie in game one that said he's made great strides in the second half of the season to the point I'm not drastically worried about him but from your standpoint how do you reassure the rookie keep that confidence going because he's he's going to be a big part of this series in the minutes that he gets I at least like that there was no hesitation from his shots and he it wasn't like he was uh you know hitting everything he shot in the regular season so for at least the way he got his shots and and the the Rhythm that he had I didn't notice a big difference there were other guys I I did feel like hesitated just a little bit and and weren't as quick to shoot it again you know a question about Obby toppen or TJ McConnell or Ben Shepard you want those guys to all do a little bit more but this is a game that's that's about the guys that are you know going to play 35 36 40 minutes the guys that are you know getting the bigger paychecks so uh for as much as you want from Ben Shepard you just need him to come in if he hits a shot or he makes a defensive play or he Dives on the floor for a loose ball um that can help get you fired up it it's it still needs to be you know Aaron neith heading those shots and getting the stops and getting out of running and maybe getting a little bit more from Andrew nard so um I it was good for Ben Shepard to get that game of playoff experience under his belt but again the good thing was I felt like he didn't hesitate at all his game in the playoffs wasn't that much difference to me than maybe I saw in the last month of the regular season you know what always drove me nuts Jeremiah and hooers is Buddy's given that task to find out what flavor gum the guy choose right yeah and then and then his answer is dentine well that's not a flavor that's just a brand right I think might have been isn't cinnamon like the original Den team even though it's not technically original it's the one that most people know about I think that's probably right I I just like I thought that was like kind of taking the easy way out there right I mean like you don't like I mean you can just assume the guy's chewing Dentin but but you could be playing you know Halton defense and be able to not and still not know the flavor right I mean you got to get you got to get up in the grill I mean you got to be Andrew NIMH hard to get that right yeah I mean you want to say like you know bubble water right exactly always drove me nuts it was like a it was like a writing flaw in the movie it really bothered me um have you done anything fun in Milwaukee did you go to the did you go to best place and get a PBR no no I I saw the the fwn statue I figured you'd ask about Milwaukee it didn't it wasn't that far off the beaten path but I walked along the river a little bit um you know met uh some of my colleagues and watched a little the Knicks uh Sixers game last night had a little spot otted cow which is only in Wisconsin correct yes that is correct yep y jingling you know you used to only used to you only could get jingling certain places now you can get it everywhere um Spotted Cow you can only get in Wisconsin had one of those yep you know when uh last time we were in Milwaukee we went to um Lakefront Brewing Company which is like a micro brew place and that's the that's where they filmed the opening scene of lever and Shirley where lever and Shirley put their gloves on the bottles and they take off and then it later shows them waiting for the gloves to come back around so we do the tour and they say like oh this is where the lever and Shirley scene was and they pick Shannon and I to go up there and and be the the lever and Shirley to do the glove thing and and reenact the whole thing and we do it and it's fun and I'm I'm of course thrilled that we're the two that picked and then we get back to the hotel and Shannon says that was really fun but I got to be honest why did they have us do that glove thing and I'm like wait a minute the whole point the Le bur and Shirley thing are you kidding me and then she's like oh that's right you know but it was that's that's your project um next time you're in Milwaukee CU you don't have time T night but you got to go back do the glove thing and then you'll know why you're doing it I'm just saying well the hope is that the Pacers are back for game five they just at least need to win one to force that and and no time like the present but I will say that I'm planning on being back in brw city or Cream City two of the nicknames we've heard used since our our time here this this weekend uh we're planning to be back next weekend no I and I think you you know look let's let's face it I I'm almost sure that you will JJ but and can we assume and this is simply an assumption I I will say that to protect both of us here but I assume as I'm sure you do as well that if you are back in Milwaukee that at that point you probably are calling and talking about a game that Giannis is on right yeah that's that's a good question uh I wonder how much the Bucks status in the series would play into that so so let's say it was 3-1 and and would would they continue to try to hold him out I really that's something I don't know I think you'll know a lot by what happens on Thursday for the bucks because again with him not really practicing legitimately like practicing not just going to practice and getting up shots that that made a you have a pretty good idea games one and two we out of the question uh you'll have a travel day you'll have probably a day off for both teams on Wednesday and then Thursday is a practice day and so I'll be interested to hear and see does Giannis practice on Thursday and if he doesn't to me it makes makes it um more unlikely that he plays in those games at gamebridge Fieldhouse but uh with Cavs you don't want to risk it you don't want to uh injure something else and he is worth much more than to this franchise than just this series so we'll have to wait and see some of that could just depend on uh how things go in the next few games I'm telling you if you're the Pacers you just want Doc Rivers to be up 3-1 and then it's like let's go let's go numbers are on our side Jeremiah enjoy Milwaukee and appreciate the conversation and hopefully it'll be 1-1 when we come back here but we shall see that's why they play the games all right always enjoy the time thanks guys appreciate it Jeremiah Johnson from B Sports talking about the Pacers and you know he said Cavs and I'm thinking oh wait a minute Cleveland also I'm like that's right it says calf right yep yep verbage and anunciation is a key there uh we'll get Jimmy's plays of the day and hand it off to John we'll do it all next let Bill Estus put you behind the wheel of the power e e e e e e e e e e e plays of the day this is me all right I'm not a athlete this is my Bo this is how I will today's plays of the day all NBA playoff selections first we'll take the Minnesota Timberwolves to win on the money line over the Phoenix Suns as the Timberwolves lead Phoenix 10 in that best of seven later tonight we'll take the Dallas Mavericks to be the first road team to get a victory that'll be over the Clippers that is at plus 100 juice take the Mavericks outright over the clippers but technically they won't be the first cuz the Pacers will be I'll get take the Indiana Pacers one of the money line over the Milwaukee Bucks last one for you we're throwing the stat combos to the side like we do regular combos on a vacation with one Jake query we're taking straight points at plus money give me over 192 total points for pacer star Tyrese halberton Eddie your selections I will say there's a different book Jimmy that you can get 18 and a half so O Okay that plus money no but your 18 and a half is better all right statistically than 19 and a half but uh in the Pacers game I will be taking Tyrese over 10 and a half assists I think he'll have a big assist number n he had 20 opportunities by the way for the assist uh in game number one I will also be hammering Anthony Edwards over 25 and a half points I think that is Dr dramatically too low against a phoenix team that doesn't have anyone that can guard him I love that those are your plays of the day John anything you want to play I don't uhuh I just want to see the Pacers win tonight I don't want to come in here tomorrow if the Pacers play like crap again and lose seriously I mean are we all at a point now to where can you just win and back up some of these expectations that you built when it really matters you know the the reality is that this time and I I get it this time a year ago you know it was like Hey if they're going to get in and get into a playoff series like you just want the experience of that right but now I mean they are clearly especially when you make them once you make the move with seak the timeline changes totally right yeah and it's it's go time and I think the timeline with the fans everybody's tired of it I mean you get right there close to the proverbial carrot and then you know you fumble it or drop it or you know lose decisively I would not have ripped them as profoundly as I did yesterday had they not from top to bottom besid seak looked like dog crap right they did and that's how they looked on Sunday and and took them too long to steady the ship for sure well and then even they got in the second half and I didn't think that was anything great I thought even when they didn't have the fast break or the Up Tempo Pace taken away they looked discombobulated in trying to do something that is the reason why they had such a high level of success tired of I don't know that I'll ever be able to forgive them for being down 12 going into the fourth and instead of halberton and seak and Turner it's Doug mcbuckets I can't I can't do it I get it now yeah all of that to me on Sunday that disappointment was somewhat erased from the fact that I was still riding the high of cruising along the 405 and Hollywood nights and listening to the J&B Tak that's awesome right there went to the point it was great was uh was Stacy's butt print still on that bench right there you imagine Ron Johnson a Pacific Stereo date the cheapest date of all time he just said hey you know what we're not going to go out to eat no movie or nothing I'm just going to take you to the point point it is right yeah yeah my good Lord and you know it was here's the other thing she she comments how much she likes his jacket and then later he goes it's been really warm out she goes yeah yeah I wonder how long it'll last I'm like then why is he wearing the jacket right rod had the jacket Ratner lost his jacket I what's going on here rat rat and Deone didn't have a jacket obviously was the problem see rat screwed it all up I mean had it right in front of him parents weren't home anything she's all robed up and rat rat rat looked like the Pacers like running out of the first half into the the halftime locker room all scared and stuff he was still worried about the fact the stereo got stolen at such a fancy restaurant forgot his wallet and everything too so no that is awesome though did you listen to uh Somebody's Baby close to that too by Jackson Brown well I listened to it because you played it on the Takeover right after that is like followed by going to be a good day and it was great now where is that located Ino so that's that's the Ino Little League which is I mean just another neighborhood of Los not the little league where Bad News Bears was it that's a good question I need to look that up because that that's one of them I wanted to hit actually I always thought that that was the uh in like the north whatever the North Area is there when you start to get toward Chatsworth where they ront Mall also which is now right which is now Sherman Oak's Mall yeah it was cool it was very cool uh John you got a big show lined up right well we got you guys did uh what shadrock we've got drao on today I want to talk about the draft upcoming and uh then obviously Alex golden we'll talk about tonight and what things have to be different I can't imagine that halberton goes back to back like that I just I can't imagine that I I hope that we have an inspired team that we watch tonight because if we don't I want I want Friday to be spectacular from start to finish and boy you're going to go limp it into that if you're down zero to on this best of seven you're right about that all right John's up next we'll be back with you noon tomorrow thanks for listening if you're talking about it disappointed the Pacers regarding their performance head scratching disappointed missed opportunity probably is as disappointed not being able to guard anybody and what does that do for Milwaukee we're talking about it these games become a
