welcome to our question answer night if if you haven't been here before this is kind of a fun night we have two microphones and whoever the first two are Oh No okay oh no these are bad questions uh is there anybody else no not really let's let's hear them and here let me get ready and write them down because I already heard part of Kent I'm ready number one is what are the circumstances that are necessary for church discipline in everything that we've seen recently it's always been family issues and as I understand Scripture its public Sam that should be dealt with and so I'm wondering if you can maybe illuminate because there are things like gossip it would also be very public sin is what we never deal with those and then the second comes from the last question answer that we had and I remember in church in South Carolina dr. Stewart Custer always referred to the creation of woman as God's crowning moment in creation and yet in our society and I'm talking about the church society we seem to have gotten this sense that any of the problems and families and relationships somehow go back to the woman I can tell you that any problems that I've had in my family and in my relationship with Jan been my issues mostly and not hers and I feel like perhaps we've been misdirected and how can the women that we expect to fulfill God's plan for them follow men who don't leave oh can we just go to school together I was knowing this would be a challenging question because Ken's quite a thinker okay Joel I'm ready let's let's get something a little easier here this is actually for my wife I usually do the dirty work for her so I after this morning's sermon about Anna being a prophetess what would be the difference between Anna being a prophetess and modern-day woman preacher and I think that they normally like a modern-day woman minister sometimes they go back to the story about Anna and say well here's here's a proof for it but it seems to fly in the face of what Paul teaches so no no it is it is in fact all of these questions are simple to someone but that to me but I'll go in reverse order remember God's God would never authorize something in one context that he would not authorize in another so there is a gift of prophecy that's given to the church and it appears in first Corinthians when you read in chapter 12 when you read in Romans when you read the gift lists there was a gift of prophecy most of us think of prophecy as come on I'm not supposed to talk to it there we go there's two kinds of prophecy there's a prophecy that is like in first Peter where it says holy men of God and you can read that in 1st Peter 1 let me just go with this and kind of tie it down to some verses 1st Peter 1 and verse 11 searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ was in them indicated beforehand the sufferings of Christ and in verse 10 so that's 1st Peter 1 10 and 11 and here prophecy is God's Spirit prompting people to write down what we would call the Bible this is what we would say in theology is revelatory in other words this is what Paul calls the foundation of the apostles and prophets so there was this form of prophecy and we have twelve minor prophets we have three major prophets we have other non-writing prophet speaking prophets and all of them got revelation from God all of them and all of them were men there were women prophets you know Deborah hold Miriam and I mentioned this morning you know Ana would would be an Old Testament prophet mentioned in the New Testament none of these had anything to do with writing scripture they all spoke truth that was known on God's behalf what's interesting is Deborah did not address the nation of Israel she sat under a tree if you read about it and judges 6 through 8 and people that want to know what God had said she explained it to them but she allowed Barack or Barrack he might call him to be out in front even the same thing Holda people went to her and asked her questions she never ever presumed to come up in front and and to discuss you know the leadership of the nation Miriam by the way might be an example someone got a little out of hand because after she led in in Exodus 12 onward the the dancing and tambourine women's Brigade singing she went on to question Moses leadership and got leprosy if you remember the story so Deborah was a positive one that never out stepped her bounce so was hold up Miriam was half and half Ana the same for the fourth one never is seen she didn't go in the temple and start teaching everybody saying God tells you to do this wherever she was she repeated what God said so what I'm saying is there's two kinds of prophets now when we get to the New Testament when you look at the gift of prophecy that's in the gift lists like I can't write that low but you know what I'm talking about when when it talks about some are given the gift of prophecy there is a great and even Wayne Grudem who is written the systematic theology who would be classified as charismatic even he explains the gift lists far differently than the what we would call the fringe charismatic s' the people that are the Toronto blessing the Brownsville people the ones that bark and roll and all that crazy stuff they do that's the fringe but the mainline Assemblies of God you know the AG and just conservative charismatic s' they would say that prophets the gift of prophecy is not giving biblical telling the future it's for example this is one way that that Wayne Grudem would to find this prophecy to get back to what Linda's asking by way of Joel which was very biblical it says if you have a question you have your husband asked if that was just very first Corinthians 14 II God never has called any woman there are 40 authors of the Bible all of them are men not because God is opposed to women they are the crown and we're going to get to that with Ken's question they are vital but God in His order does not want in fact let me just show you something here in 1st Corinthians 11 because in fact turn there with me because I want to show you that everything actually ties together in the Bible if you want to know if something is right just do the test if if it's if it's in harmony with the scriptures because one author wrote all of the Bible and he doesn't contradict himself so in 1st Corinthians 11 starting in verse 3 the Lord says something very interesting he says the head of every man is Christ that's the authority over him and the head of woman is man now you know it's so interesting the whole egalitarian feministic movement that reinterprets the Bible they even have their own editions of the Bible the NIV you know has a feminized version that's why it's just so hard nowadays when people say the Bible says you go what Bible you're talking about are you talking about the Bible got inspired or all these catered versions the the gender you know neutral Bible that doesn't have God his father and all that stuff that's not the Bible that's a I mean that's close to the Javas witness new world edition that the doctors out things but the Bible says in 1st Corinthians 11 Paul is not speaking culturally he is speaking very clearly in a revelatory way and he says that I want you know the head of every man is Christ the head of luminous man and the head of Christ is God so there is what we call hierarchy with God this is God the Father this is God the Son this is man and this is woman and you know if you want to just keep adding to it you know children and children are to learn to honor and respect their mother and to honor and respect their father and they are supposed to through their parents that's what we were doing with the dedication learned to honor and respect Christ and thus all things will be when Christ delivers them under God you shall be all in all this 1st Corinthians 15 says and so this is the hierarchy now look look what we've come to in our society and and before I get to Ken I'll just say that this has nothing to do with his question but this is where our culture is going we have so much wanted this whole equal rights thing that many families have gone to the woman leading and the man actually he's not even there to tell you the truth the children are there because children are so important and the man is here with the passive male syndrome I call it PMS he has the passive male syndrome the children have the confused child syndrome and the woman has the displaced role syndrome because no matter what teaching you have this is this is what God says and God said this is what is operative in the home and in the church this this 1st Corinthians 11 and other places is what God has ordained now he doesn't say that it's the role in business or government it doesn't the the scriptures don't you know they give nice principles about how to be a good businessman businesswoman or whatever but it never says that women can't lead in any role or it can't be crackerjack proverbs 31 very profitable businessmen in fact most women are incredible money managers what they can do on taking care of a home as far as all the the needed purchases and everything else there but within the home God's order is supposed to be followed this is not God's order this produces children you talk about confusion if this is what God says and if this is what's operating in their home you know what pretty soon they think it doesn't matter what God says and that's the confusion we've gotten to so what does that have to do with the Joel's question well what the Lord says is if you keep going you can read the the rest of 1st Corinthians 11 because it just keeps talking about the order of the church but when you get down to 1st Corinthians 14 it get I mean if we get to the spiritual gifts tonight what what the Lord is saying is he wants within the church for a for it to be that the men teach and lead that's basically what Paul says in in 1st Corinthians starting at 11 in 12 in 14 and in 1st Timothy 2 that we saw last week our last time that I did this in the home he wants Ephesians 5 the men to be the christ-like leaders that doesn't mean the ruler it doesn't mean the king it means a christ-like servant leader but never never are we to forget this so what happens when and we have I'm gonna get a lot of exercise tonight what happens when we have a woman preacher modern-day women preacher well God would never gift a woman to do something he's already said is wrong he's already said that the woman is to be under the headship of the man who is under the headship of Christ who is under God the Father what happens is because the family has slowly degenerated the church is following it no matter how many special experts you bring in to say that there are seven ways of interpreting the Bible according to Jewish thought the Bible does not say this never in any part of the Bible every prophetess every every New Testament church was was to be organized this way except when they were in disobedience so what has happened nowadays the majority of what we would say American the hundred million Christians in America have a disobedient form of their family structure and a growing percentage of the churches of the three hundred and thirty thousand churches in America are having with an elders and women pastors and especially sadly in this whole realm of modern-day women preachers in the charismatic movement and and I mean even a case in point here in town one of the largest churches in our town has a man who can't preach very well and a wife who can and everybody knows that and they are a team but the Bible says that they're disobedient and that she should not be teaching together church and we've already covered that in the different ones so to answer the question Joel and Linda the prophetess has no comparison to the modern-day women preachers because the modern-day women preachers are disobedient to the pattern not only that the New Testament lays down but to the pattern that the Old Testament laid down there were no revelatory women prophets in the Old Testament there was one got a little out of hand and got smooter with leprosy prophetess but there was no revelatory writing scripture moved by the Holy Spirit to write Scripture now what is modern day gift of prophecy charismatic s' remember I told you wayne grudem's charismatic and we're studying his systematic theology do you know what he calls for example a subset of the gift of prophecy is the word of knowledge you know he calls that he calls it a spontaneous bringing to memory a previously learned scripture we've all experienced that so we're all in that form charismatic if that's charismatic how many times have you been talking to someone on the phone walking with some seeing someone in the supermarket and they they are struggling with something and you remember her she learned in Oana about 300 years ago and you just share it with them and you go that was the Lord see the Holy Spirit is at work but when the Holy Spirit is at work he always follows his own rules the Holy Spirit will never break his own rules what he's written down the scripture because that causes confusion okay women family marriage versus men's responsibilities ken is they have what we talked about a couple weeks ago about laying too hard on the men are mean on the women and not enough on the men is that kind of what you're talking about a little bit okay so so I want to talk about that what are the circumstances for church discipline Matthew 18 gives us the pattern that church discipline starts when someone goes to their brother or sister in Christ they've been offended and the person won't repent so they take someone else to them they go and repent and then you ask the church to go with them the circumstances for church discipline according to Christ's words in Matthew 18 you're right could just about be anything that people didn't I mean it could be gossip slothfulness and everything else what's interesting is how we see it applied in the New Testament let me just show you a few examples of what they disciplined for in the New Testament look at first Corinthians 5 and you've all seen this before in 1st Corinthians 5 Paul says that that these are things by church discipline I mean put them out of the church what do you what we would call to use a Catholic turn ex communicate and if you want to know where that comes from we don't really use that in Protestantism evangelicalism but the the core of fellowship is communion and that's where and no one asks this tonight but I love to mention things along the way I can't imagine ever missing a celebration of communion at a church that I am identified with for any reason other than deathly ill and yet most people think hey if I pick up a communion now and then I'm doing great communion is one if not the most special services of the church and the early church the early church equated communion with your actually being a Christian they did not allow anybody in the 1st century Church to come to communion that they weren't dead sure it was a believer because all believers could not resist communing with Christ at communion we've gone a long way from that nowadays and nowadays in fact I remember I've pastored Baptist churches that had communion quarterly and people asked if that was too frequent it's a how did the early church next to how they operate they went from house to house daily breaking bread it's very very very likely they're talking about celebrating their the the remembrance of Christ's death bear and resurrection in the communion table and so when the Catholic Church excommunicated people they wouldn't let them come to communion which is like saying you know you're you're headed toward destruction and so that's where the excommunication comes from well look at what first Corinthians 5:11 says I've written you not to keep company with anyone named a brother or sexually immoral or covetous or idolatry or a reviler or a drunkard or extortioner so there's the first list of what you ex communicate or discipline what you see the purpose of church discipline it says earlier is is in the first eight verses is starting you can look at verse 7 of 1st Corinthians 5 purge out the old leaven that you may be a new lump since you're truly unleavened and what he's talking about is that sin is like leaven and if discipline is to purge or to cleanse or to keep the leaven of sin out of the church from growing this reminds me of when I was a student at Dallas seminary I was a student there for ten years John MacArthur came and spoke in Chapel he was the most popular speaker in Dallas in for a period of time and he came to speaking as I forget the president back then but the one that was after Wolverton both Campbell or whatever I think his name was driving into the airport and I think Wofford was in the back seat they drove by a Walmart sized alcohol sales place in Dallas and John said what a Travis do you think how many homes are being destroyed by that place and how many marriage how many men in women's lives buy alcohol and from the backseat came yeah and a man in our church owns it and John said I hope he gets saved and from the back seat came he teaches our Sunday School class and John said a man in your church owns the liquor buying they go yeah and he's a Christian they said what we thought he was until he ran off with an eighteen-year-old girl and left his wife see there there is a 11 of sin and if that sort of behavior went on dealt with in the church and he was allowed to continue teaching Sunday school etc etc etc and nothing to to say you are no longer welcome at the member communion is we're supposed to 1st Corinthians 11 says judge ourselves lest we be judged we're supposed to stand in judgment say God is there any unconfessed unforce a consent in my life before I take part in communion I'm not going to take part in an unworthy manner and in 1st Corinthians turn over the 1st Corinthians 11 you all know this but I need to learn to repeat the questions done right first Corinthians 11 says verse 27 therefore whoever eats and drinks of this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner is guilty of the body and blood of Christ let him an examine himself and let him eat the bread for he who eats and drinks verse 29 and unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself for this reason many are weak and sick so basically can church discipline was was initiated in the New Testament order of the church to prevent people that were persisting in sins from the Lord making them weak and sick and killing them and what what sins would those be well back to 1st Corinthians 5 the first list is right here if someone says they're a brother a believer so this is and I'm in verse 11 someone who says they're a Christian they cannot be sexually immoral and stay in the church okay so every single person in the church that is involved in any form of fornication should not be treated like a brother they should be disciplined they should purge out the old leaven do you know how many people live together and are I mean what are we doing with them they're part of the family they're living together that is 11 and that lets down God's standard so sexual immorality is so contagious it can't be it's it's like mersa and versa in the medical world it's it's one of those deadly deadly infections that's a killer and you don't allow sexual immorality covetous what is covetous it's the idolatry of money ones last time you heard of someone getting distant out of a church for that that's actually extolled and a lot of churches in the area I mean if you are godly you'll be rich and you should have something that you want like a car or a dream house you know what our dream houses are to be as Christians the one God's building for us nothing wrong having a beautiful home I live in a beautiful home like lived in many beautiful homes they're not my dream houses that that is so much part of the idolatry of covetousness because just like Bellaire did you read the news there's a new mansion going up in Bel Air California at 65,000 square feet and so the neighbors have to add on to their houses because you can't have anybody outdo you and see that's the the covetousness the idolatry the so when that takes hold in someone's life or an idolaters which the Scriptures tie with covetousness or a reviler someone who persist in that that reviling that that that speaking that is so remember when Christ was reviled he didn't while back that evil speaking there are some people that persist I mean they are constantly slanderers you know it's slander the the the Greek word for slander diabolus is actually the word for the devil he is the slanderer and whenever a believer surrenders their tongue to the devil and they just become this revealer of the things of God and and everything else you Ness oppose keep company with them or a drunkard drunkenness is a sin that leaves two leads to medical problems it's not a disease it can become one we used to have people with that disease living in our home my parents brought home all the people from the rescue mission I grew up with them living with us they had diseases of the liver and a lot of the stomach and everything else alcoholism is a sin drunkenness that leads to diseases it's not a disease that that is not a sin which our culture is trying to do is just like homosexuality you know is is a predisposition genetically and you can't discriminate and you know how could God not love them he does he hates the sin and it's always a sin as drunkenness is an extortioner not even to eat with such a person and so that's the first list and I didn't mean to go off on it so long look at Romans 16 here's another one Romans 16 has another list and it says verse 17 so the first list of church discipline can is in 1st Corinthians 5 so we should discipline people that that are what we just went through so that's the first one I mean that's the ones I mean you could say from you could say from Matthew 18 almost anything can be disciplined and I've been at churches where they do that in fact churches they have heavy-duty counseling programs if people don't respond to the counseling they discipline them and I really think that's tragic because discipline is not a crowbar or a hammer it's a last resort to rescue it's not like you tighten the screws on people hoping to get the right response by threatening them with discipline it's when they when they become immersive verse of infection in the church because they're sexually active and they are flaunting it and everybody knows it or they're they're so horribly idolatrous ly covetous or they are so deadly with their tongue and on down the list so that's Atlas now look at Romans 16 and verse 17 now I urge you brethren note those who cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned and avoid them oh now there is another one in in Romans 16 it adds to this people that are dividers they are always there oh look what it's doing they they're causing divisions and offenses they seem to always be able to stir things up and get the church just totally without what Paul says in Ephesians 4 endeavoring to keep actually to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace and there's some people that cause divisions they just they they are they like to do that and they like to to always make everything usually it's to enhance something that they want but Paul said in verse 17 Christians verse 17 note those people who are causing divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you've learned and avoid them for those are such as who do not serve verse 18 our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly by smooth flattering words and okay now here's another one look at at 1st Thessalonians here's another listing of what you discipline people for 1st Corinthians I mean 1st Thessalonians let's see if I can find this one watch those first let's see no its second here we go its second Thessalonians three Bonnie called me tonight and she said are you scared about the Q&A I said no I said I already know I don't know the answers but if I look around long enough I'll find them so it's in second Thessalonians okay so in second Thessalonians three this is what it it's another one and it says verse ten well let's start in verse six but we command you brethren in the name of the Lord that you withdraw from every fellow believer every brother who walks disorderly now there's another one the disorderly people boy that should put fright ever seen some people's garages and basements no disorderly I'm not according to tradition which you received from us for you yourselves know how you ought to follow us for we were not disorderly among you so he's not talking about throwing your clothes on the floor nor did we eat anyone's bread free of charts but we worked with labor and toil night and day that we might not be a burden to any of you not because we don't have authority but we make ourselves an example of how you should follow us for even we were with you we commanded this if anyone will not work neither shall we eat now that's Western Michigan isn't it work ethic but it's actually biblical it says for we hear that there are some verse eleven who walk among you in a disorderly manner not working at all but are busybodies now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread so there was this disorderliness that was tantamount to what what Ken mentioned laziness slothfulness that seems to have been disciplined in the church that the people that wouldn't were that that always were wanting someone else to support them that weren't a biblically supportable remember the widows were to be supported and and those that were you know ill and and within the whole Levitical law you were supposed to leave for the poor the corners of your field and they were always poor but in the New Testament in spite of the poverty you're still supposed to work and you know what's so interesting about that you talk about getting on hallowed ground that's touching our whole entitlement society that we live in so I'm not going to touch it because ken didn't even ask me about that tonight but what do we discipline for the answer I would say is this and I'll just show you two more look at James v they're actually five places this is talked about James v has the next one and it says let's see there's anyone you here we go it's verse nineteen of five is anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error in his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins those that wander from doctrine to we're supposed to be disciplined out wander from the truth I mean they start they start believing heresy and if they will persist in that they're supposed to be put out but if you are able to turn them back and Jude talks about that of some have compassion hating even their garment spotted by the flesh and pull them out of the flames Jude talks about that and then the last one is 1st Peter 5 I'm in first John 5 first John 5 has the last one here's some where verse 16 so 2nd Thessalonians 3 James 5 and first John 5 these are things you discipline for now it's not real clear here but this is what it says if anyone sees his brother sinning a sin the verse 16 of first John five sinning a sin which does not lead to death he will ask and he will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death there is sin leading to death I don't say that you should pray about that all unrighteousness is sin and there is sin not leading to death oh now we get to the Roman Catholic that's where they get mortal and venial any of you old Catholics remember that there there there seem to be two types of sin I'm not talking about unpardonable unpardonable I'm talking about within pardonable sins there seems to be sins that lead to death and sins that don't so back to Ken's original question it appears in the Bible Matthew 18 is a broad statement you can discipline for almost anything and so the church defines that by how they practice that and in forms of gossip that would go to reviving discipline was enacted in slothfulness that led to a discrediting of Christ because they were unwilling to work in a disorderly manner and they were going around and busybody that was and then that whole other list of of bad things covetousness idolatry sexual activity the revilers the wanders from truth of dividers and a little bit to disorderly that I already talked about those things if a brother did them you're supposed to say you're not acting like a brother and so we want you to turn from the error of your way so that first Corinthians 11 you can partake in communion but you cannot partake in communion if you're doing those things in fact once we know that you are unrepentant of those things we are going to use you from the gathering of the church until you repent that's the purpose of church discipline yes you know maybe some slothful people need to be disciplined some gluttonous people need to be disciplined but the New Testament pattern seems to be when there is a sin that would lead to death in other words if the person does not repent of them they will follow the 1st Corinthians 11 pathway down which is first they become weak did you all see that 1st Corinthians 11 I shouldn't assume that you just are tracking with me 1st Corinthians 11 he says in verse 34 this reason what reason unconfessed sin many are weak and some are sick and some are dead for a born-again Christian there are some sins God says that lead to death and they start with weakness that there's no reason for it it's not it's not that you know there 89 years old and their heart is slowing down and they're just sleepy all the time it's just an unnatural weakness a sickness that won't go away and what we would call an untimely death that's what was being experienced in Corinth because they were staying in the church while doing in fact I even have written I have this written in my Bible these are the sins of Corinth they were worldly divisive opinionated cliquish carnal fleshly envious strife ridden argumentative puffed up self glory smug immoral compromising with sin defrauding each other for negating depriving in marriage offending weaker Christians lusting after evil things idolatrous fellowshipping with demons insubordinate gluttonous drunken selfish toward the poor and desecrating the lord's table that was what was like the only church they had any problem with spiritual gifts by the way did you notice that they're the ones that Paul has to correct tongues speaking because they even ruined that they even counterfeited that in their their ways but those people that were acting that way doing those sins he said discipline them for the person that struggles with anxiety the person that shares prayer requests but actually it's gossip you don't hold them from the church and throw them out for that but you start deciphering them and asking them to consider their ways and and repent of their sin but the ones that would lead to death if not disciplined they shouldn't come to communion they should be disciplined they should be called to repent of their ways and if now see this is the final thing about it if someone is disciplined let's say a practicing homosexual that will not repent of it doesn't mean they're tempted it means they are practicing and engaged in something God clearly says if you do that if that is your lifestyle you will not go to heaven I didn't say that and you know the moral majority didn't say that and Pat Robertson didn't say that God said that God from cover to cover has always been opposed to many sins and homosexuality is one of them but if a person never repents of that and they were in church and they're disciplined out for that and they refuse to repent of that and they never go through weakness sickness and death there is a high probability they were not a Christian because God says in Hebrews 12 look at what it says it says if you're a true child of God I'm gonna spank you he doesn't say parents are gonna spank you don't you know spank your adult children for their sins you'll only correct children in a special way as they're growing up to tea boundaries but look what God says in in Hebrews chapter 12 verse 5 you've forgotten the exhortation my son don't despise chastening of the Lord don't be discouraged when you're rebuked for whom the Lord loves verse 6 he chastens he scourge as every son he receives verse 7 of Hebrews 12 if you endure chastening this is this is chastening right here weakness sickness ultimate death that's part of the chastening path got his if you endure chastening God deals with you as sons for what son is there whom the father does not chase him now look at verse 8 if you are without chastening if you can own the liquor barn if you can leave your wife of 40 years and live with an 18 year old and you're never chastened look what it says of which all have become partakers then you are illegitimate good thing we don't have the old King James in here has a swear word in there starts with a b and an a and an S and a t and an ard that's what it says you are an illegitimate child and not sons Wow and you can read the rest so basically what God says is that even if the church doesn't discipline he does if they're a believer if they're not a believer he lived some the worst thing God can do to anybody is just let him go because we'd self-destruct I mean why does why do so many of those glamorous entertainers die young why because with endless money and endless ability to do whatever we want we destroy ourselves God designed humans to need limits to need structure to need rules to need the stuff around us and when you throw it all away you self-destruct so but I'll have to come back because this middle question is really good can and I want to spend a whole time on it because what I think and Ken and I had a great talk in the aisle I think that when men hear that they're supposed to lead their family and their wife as Christ leads the church they go oh great because they don't know what that means it's far heavier than all of what women are supposed to be and so I think we need to devote a whole time to that in fact maybe next Sunday night if it's not a storm we'll just pick up with Ken's right there and then we'll also go and I'll read you the ones I didn't get to our people body and soul or body and soul and spirit what's the difference between soul and spirit that's a great question and here's another one is suicide ever morally justified King Saul committed suicide Jewish women take their own lives in history not to be raped Judas Iscariot killed himself Masada people all 900 of them killed their lives rather me concurred and you know soldiers fall in grenades is suicide morally justified so that's a good one too but you've been sitting so long I'm afraid some of you are going to pass out so let's all stand and and and what I would say is this this this would be my studied opinion but I would love to have follow-ups especially on the church discipline and the modern-day prophetess thing just to hear Joel or Ken if you have any more questions about that but let's bow for a word of Prayer for were late your father in heaven I thank you for your work in our midst I thank you for how many of us prayed and sought to bring people to the concerts and we saw you marvelously work in people's hearts the reports seem to be coming in every day of how amazed we are at the different people that came under the hearing of your word and were touched and moved and convicted and we pray that we wouldn't stop praying for them this is just the beginning the seeds have been planted but we pray that the devil wouldn't Peck can take away that seed but that we might pray and ask you to water it and bring the increase of salvation and then father I pray for these hard issues the whole role of of women in the church the whole role of sin in the body the leaven that it is that we would just reverently seek to uphold what your word clearly says and the rest just wait upon you and ask you to guide us thank you for letting us gather we pray for your wisdom in our week ahead that we might see what you bring into our lives as opportunities for us to respond correctly and glorify you and the precious name of Jesus we pray and all God's people said amen god bless you as you go
