anyways enough about that I know people are chomping at the bit for some Daigo versus Punk over here yeah we're not going to hold that off any longer Here Comes exactly fly Punk against Beast Daigo taking the shell off disrobing both of them are probably like well these two just shut up so we can play yeah exactly the 100,000 people watching enough about UCLA a thousand years ago let's talk about fly Punk versus Beast Dao again they've both looked very strong today and they have both made it into winers finals a lot of these pools so far have had results that maybe in the end were okay but like on the way you didn't know it was going to happen in this pool it feels predetermined and here it is winner's finals Punk versus Dao it's definitely Beast versus God right here so what is a beast to a god what is a God to a beast we're going to find out here great reaction gets the spin knuckle through the fireball so showing checking yeah hard to get past those reactions yep and again you mentioned it before we went on break Punk's reactions are just second to To None basically except maybe Phenom because I always say Phenom has the best reaction may but they're both very strong and this is that kind of Battle of styles I was hoping to see so far this is punk with the offense moving forward with punishing pressure and it's Daigo slow playing yeah but here we go towards the corner and you look at this Punk showing a little respect back there not going up for the mey Crouch heavy punch oh and now D with the check yes pressure will up not for long really Dao's first up close mid midscreen chance like that punk shut it down right away interesting Punk showing the wake up DP back to this slower Style again Dao seemingly comfortable and like I said I mean I I remember watching a match from Punk and he never hit a button That was supposed to be a whiff OS right there yeah Dao just got a little too close right there well that is how you beat that technique mhm yep oh what a whip punish wow gosh I it just baffles me how good he is with that whiff punish remember he changed how Street Fighter 5 was played in the end we were all playing Punk Fighter 5 like they balanced the game around Punk's ability to whip punish and single hit confirmed you know and if he finds one of those right now it's going to be the game digo knows it a big part of I think why he's playing the slower Styles he doesn't want to contend with Punk's reactions yeah well here he go is he going to go for the level three not yet for kill yeah all right and now he only really needs a level one or a level two he tried to go for it but Daigo with the simple combo over here going to take it with the level three predicted the throw attempt got the jump dive kick and again if you're someone with the reactions and the leads of punk Cammy dive kick is the scariest tool in the game I can't just seems like nobody today has been able to not just shut down Punk but like stop him like be a roadblock even oh okay Dao trying to install himself on the pavement not for long oh no will pressure up close no wow that was so sick the H boxes the hurt boxes on that D kick to the two hit combo on that one for me that was sick oh man all right so Daigo taking round number one here trying to tie this up one to one oh and now Daigo winning the neutral here get to the corner position more forward movement for him he is intense about moving forward for the first time really in this set yeah and again that's might maybe one of the adjustments he's been he he's made cuz he's like okay the the little patient style isn't working as well I have to be a little more aggressive yeah that may have been the idea Punk with the double shimmy right there the classic double shimmy but D not falling for it Tigo really good at using that standing heavy kick but Punk right now not that far behind and life still o caught him just when he jumped it's a two hit game for both Daigo now it's a one hit game for Daigo and there's no reason for him to save meter at all no regular Dash Punk try it out he gets the whip finish and he's going to be at one hit away as well yep tried to go for a shimy but Daigo with the Crouch meting kick not early enough to catch the walk boock but there's the whip finish Daigo should be able to take this round and actually should be able to do it without spending a single bar that's Punk at Match Point starting out with three on both sides the danger of that quarter screen between them yeah D just disengages no thank you oh no anti-air even there we go that count punish counter gets the free juggle afterwards and he now he is going to go into the level three he wants some of that gauge back and that's going to put Punk at just about burnout here but also with the style that he's played having a life lead is super important there it is got the burnout the kick baited him out it's a huge chance for Punk oh again it's a huge chance for Punk he misses he was burned out maybe that changes the calculation on that yeah that's right he was in uh a little bit more block stun oh that's going to be a combo right there for Daigo and he's going to be able to get to the corner for the DP juggle but it's not over yet no punk is two hits away and Dao knows that again I think that's part of why he's backing up here comes Punk trying to force the issue and he's at critical art range is punk Daigo just needs to get one small hit to tie this up one to one oh there we go wow oh man that could have gone differently if Punk had punished that expdp differently but who knows one to one classic classic move right there is when you whiff a button and you realize the opponent's too late to whiff punish you you just press it again that's what Punk tried but Daigo did press the button and anyway oh speaking of pressing the button anyway here he goes he gets the start he gets the first Corner carry Dao denies the approach here's the corner pressure oh throw Tech and again he's just not overly insistent forward movement into the corner yes but then at a range where he can set up this cage oh caught him trying to walk backwards and the side switch and baits that out keeping it easier yeah I understand that for the easy combo there oh no try to walk up too far for the throw Dao was walking back he missed the die kick Dao taking advantage oh wow again out of there but he's almost burned out there is the burnout he's going to go into the level it's not enough and he is without resources at all he's in trouble if he gets knocked down but one hit could do it for him that's the risk he's one to take and he is at Match Point himself I was just about to say he's willing to even trade with that fireball in that situation there so even if it was a little bit later that would have been just fine for him so Punk Match Point slowing it way down that third screen in between the danger they both know to be the one to get started first would be great but man easier said than done to be in that range and not be at risk from the opponent so they had been dancing around each other's crouching medium kick range which is why Daigo throwing out that standing medium kick was so important to establish a different range for Punk to have to try to navigate uhoh no he is really trying to get something out there he doesn't need too strictly could be different punishes nevertheless yeah that that Miss on that neutral jump has CAU has actually got to his head but he's still at the position where he might be able to take this with just one more hit he's but Dago's in the yellow Health if he finds two hits maybe even one hit under the right circumstances here's the there's one there's one so because of the standing light punch a lot of scaling so he's going to need one more hit down shut up here we go dieo what do you got you pressure in he was worried about DP nothing came dude that was a plus jab because it was Drive rush and punk still hit the button afterwards yeah he expected Dao to be scared he was right Daigo finds the round in this match that we've looked forward to throughout the pool it's happening Punk digigo one round left final game final round oh look at them ping each other yeah that's good combo right there gets you further towards the corner get some good damage off of that walked into the corner he's in trouble shimy again underneath the crepe stand Punk pressuring caught him counter poking right there with the with the chain Jabs oh no it wasn't counter hit so the crouching medum Kick's not going to combo oh that's a great lady Dao patient again scary not doing too much if Punk find one hit it's over over right I mean that if it's a confirmed hit yeah but that sand jab wasn't a counter hit so it didn't combo into the crouching medium punch Oh I thought yeah the risk was there Daigo how can he make it happen you see him scheming up he wants to be in and out of these ranges he was willing to take the grab that's for sure daigo's patience has been immaculate yeah baiting out and now great lady again here we go punch what's he going to do corner carry right now has a level two is he going to go for a drive impact at any point in time would he take the risk against punk punk no the error comes out that was supposed to be a level three and it came out asolan it should be over there's the big Whi and punk up in the sky and lands on top of Dao's head to move himself into top 16 winners side wow what a set it seemed at first like Punk was the one who was totally in control and then in that second game much stronger for Dao his game plan shifted a little bit little bit more offense looked a lot stronger ready to go and man what other way could it have ended than in last game last round between these two tit I don't want to call anyone out but I was watching ringe sitting on the couch over there his eyes were so wide like he was just like oh my god dude that was such a good match oh and you again if you're just a fan of fighting games like all of us are you see that and it's just it's so great yeah two of the best awesome to see them do it now of course digo can still get out in loser side yep but yeah some very interesting decisions man that anti-air that he had with the heavy and then juggled it afterward versus Cammy dive kick in the corner still sick I'm still thinking about that one yeah and I'm oh yeah that was the that was the counter hit one cuz I think Punk also blocked a light uh dragon lash and didn't try to hit a button afterwards so wasn't willing to go and try to go for that train remember were there were these couple there's one that worked out but he did have a couple of errors in trying pun that was such a nice timing that felt very super turbo that standing medium kick against the fireball oh he tried to jump but he couldn't quite get out and into the air right there's the Reed up in the sky expecting the DI and again that means that it's Punk moving on in Winter's side
