in this video i'm going to be showing you how to use the print then cut feature in cricut design space if you're new here welcome to little craft nest my name is nisha i don't know about you but my kids often ask me to go onto google images and print out a character for them and then they want me to cut it out as well so print then cut is great for that it's also great for making stickers or cards or even printing on printable heat transfer vinyl so you can make some unique t-shirts there's so many different uses you will be using this for so let's head over to the computer and get started so here in cricut design space the first thing we want to do is find an image that we want to print out so let's go over to images and let's do a qriket cutie and let's find a multi-colored image here we have a number of really cute cuties let's go and pick this one here with the heart and press add to canvas now i'm just going to stretch him a little bigger and you'll notice there is a number of cut layers for this but we don't want everything cut out we want this to print out as one whole image so right now the image is grouped together and we're going to go up to the top where it says operation right now it's set to basic cut and we're going to change this by going right down to the bottom and under print then cut and press standard now if we were to go and print him right now he would print out in all separate pieces so if i were to press make it you would see that each piece of our cutie would print out separately all on different pages but we want them to print out as one image so we're going to cancel this and what you want to do is select all the layers and we're going to go to the bottom right and press attach so now if we were to print this out let's go to make it he would print out as one image but let's cancel this and try something else let's say you wanted an image from google images let's get rid of our cutie and go over to safari i'm going to type in bunny clip art and we're going to select images and we're just going to choose one of these cute little bunnies to work with so this cartoon one here is cute so i'm going to click on that and press save image as and i'm going to call it bunny one because i already have another bunny saved and i'm going to save that to the desktop and press save now i can go back into design space and we're going to press upload image press upload again and then we're going to get that image we just saved from our desktop and drag it over here and i'm going to select complex continue and then we just want to remove this white background so we have our magic wand selected on the left and all we have to do is click that background and now our background has changed all to little checkers and that simply means that our background has been erased so we're going to go down to the bottom right and press apply and continue and now you can see we have two options here so the cut image is over here and then we have our print then cut image over here and so that's the one we want to select and then you can save your bunny over here you can call it a name you can call it bunny and you can put some tag names in there if you want as well and then just press upload now i'm going to select my bunny just click on it and then press add to canvas now he's really tiny so i'm going to stretch them out and under operation at the top you can see that this is a print then cut image now if you were to change that to a basic cut you would just get the outline of your bunny so let's change this back to print and cut by just going back now one thing to note is the largest size you can print an image is 9.25 inches by 6.75 inches so we want to make sure our image is not any bigger than that right now we're at 4x4 so we can make it a little bigger now we can go over to the top and press make it now you can print your image on paper card stock or even printable vinyl but just make sure it's a material that your printer can handle let's press continue at the bottom right and then what we want to do is send this image to the printer so we're going to press send to printer now it's up to you if you want to turn the bleed on or off what the bleed does is just make the color blurry at the edges but that piece is usually cut off so it's usually a preference if you want to turn the bleed on or off for this project i'm just going to turn it off now one thing you always want to remember to do is use your system dialog so we are going to turn that on that's going to allow us to change our printer settings and then we can go ahead and press print and you'll notice this circle keeps spinning and you're probably wondering where's my system dialog box it's actually going to be hidden behind your design space here so we're going to slide our designs face down we can get rid of safari there and here is our print dialog box so you may need to move a few things around to find it now if you look down at the bottom here it says quality and it's set to normal we want to change that to best so we get the best print quality then also make sure you are printing in color and not in black and white and when you're ready you can go ahead and press print [Music] now i just printed our image on regular printer paper so we're going to set our material to paper and then we're going to load our paper onto our mat and get it cut out and because i'm using paper i'm using my light grip blue matte today so we're going line our paper up and put it on our mat now we're going to put our mat in our machine just as we normally would so we're going to put it under our tabs and press our arrow key and then we're going to press our flashing light and now my cricut maker is just scanning for the black registration marks here so it knows exactly where to cut around our little bunny [Music] so here is our little bunny all cut out and since we use paper we want to peel our mat off our paper and not just rip our paper off otherwise it will [Music] so we're going to flip it over and gently peel off our paper and there's our little bunny all cut out if you still have some questions about how to use the print then cut feature please leave them down below in the comments and i will try to get back to you i'd also love to see you join me over on my other social media platforms on facebook tick
