if you're wiring a vehicle you don't want it on when you're wiring like how do you well I mean I'm sure there's another thing in the glove box is there not I don't know I didn't look that far [Music] what's up life right Nation hey what's going on guys as you can tell it is snowing it is freezing cold outside and that's because we are coming to you live from the Arctic Circle we're not really live we're at the Arctic Circle though [Music] we're still at home however we are going to the Arctic Circle we haven't really officially announced this yet uh so consider this the announcement Nitto invited us to go on an over Landing Expedition for us it'll be from Utah Arctic Expedition well yeah an over Landing Arctic Circle Expedition we'll be driving from Utah all the way up to the Arctic Circle yeah northern northern Canada and it's supposed to be I just checked the weather up there and it's negative 30 degrees during the day and negative like 40 at night and that's without the wind chill yeah so as you can see and I will go over this a little bit later I've spent the last couple weeks preparing by buying us clothing that is equipped for that type of weather because although as you can see at home it does get cold and we do get a lot of snow not that kind of snow first me and Chris need to actually get in the shop and get the Raptor ready that's right because that's what we're taking we can't just take the Raptor yeah we're taking the Bronco Raptor so here's the thing the downside is is we leave in like 24 hours and there's a lot of work that needs to be done well these two go head to the shop and get the Bronco Raptor prepared I'm gonna go inside and I'm gonna get our bags prepared and if you think that they have the harder job let me tell you that is not the case peanut is not very equipped we're getting it I'm sorry baby the dogs are not coming with us to the Arctic Circle they're gonna stay at home with Chris and he's going to puppy sit so that I don't get two frozen popsicle dogs Jelly's actually like triple coach jelly has a triple coat uh peanut however does not she's not prepared for this old baby he's so good you can get warm [Music] there we go this is the most cool little utilitarian thing to have around here we normally have a truck on the other side of the house and we'll like have it all we'll need to load it up or unload it whatever we'll load this up drive it to the truck unload it it's I don't know it's just super fun I like it it's a great farm truck so I don't know if Utah just knew we were going up to the Arctic and want to prepare us prepare us it's cold it's three degrees outside uh with the wind chill it's 20 but there's 20 30 mile an hour winds check this out it is like a winter wonderland yeah so we got about well most of it's actually gone down some oh you can see around the fire pit oh that's about how much snow we got oh looks a good five inches seven inches of snow somewhere in there we got that yesterday and it is three degrees outside right now oh okay I'm too cold I'm just in a freaking body that's what pants and shoes okay we gotta get back to work we gotta get all this stuff done we're gonna be taking the Bronco Raptor to the Arctic Circle but they sent us a list of a few things that we need to have and it's it's nothing crazy but they wanted at least some handheld radios but if you've been in new vehicles with like I don't know if it's the can bus system or what but if you've been in new vehicles with a handheld and I just have like these cheap beaufeng one constantly just and it's annoying it's annoying to listen to and then you turn it down and you can't hear when somebody needs to get a hold of you in the Convoy so we got with rugged and we decided to do a 50 watt hard Mount I think this is going to solve that issue because it comes with an external antenna plus it's 50 Watts I think the radios are like two or three um in the bow fangs I think you can get in there and change it to five which is like technically illegal or something so we went with rugged because they have the pre-crow branch so we did get two of these guys so those have the pre-programming in them so everybody can have the same channels and then but what we did do was go with the 50 watt M1 race radio and then what's cool about this is it actually comes with a bracket to mount the antenna on your a-pillar which we'll show you in a minute and then also a bracket for the Bronco to mount in the side now that was one of the things they were like you just have to have a VHF radio but if we're gonna do it I want to do it all out because I plan on taking this thing to Baja all the way down to the bottom of the peninsula in like June we definitely want some good radios so we're gonna be doing some fun stuff with the Bronco this year also they wanted a rear yellow amber light because we couldn't encounter some super crazy snow drift snow storms white out like we do at home like we did right now so they're like hey we really want you guys to have a Amber rear light Baja Designs we had this actually because I was going to turn the pro R into kind of a desert race vehicle I want to do some desert races and we ordered a whole ton of lights that you need to have for racing this is one of them and I'm like well we haven't put it on yet so let's just throw this on the Bronco for now we can order another one later if you look underneath the Baha design light our ARB twin compressor so I've been using the little handheld guy those orange ones that people are selling I haven't had too good of luck with them I don't know if I've just gotten a bad one and then the second one is already making noise or if other people are having good or bad luck I don't know but I do know that I've had the ARB twin compressor in the stepchild since 2018 and I filled up 40s I don't know how many times I've had it in there forever so we're just going with the tried and true we're gonna stick it in the Bronco because is when you get into that kind of weather you want to be able to air down and air up quick and I'm not going to get out pop the hood go hook up the cables for the air pump under the hood run on I'm not going to do that I'm just not going to do it and we literally leave tomorrow because I wanted Chris to run air hoses To Each corner so I could just plug them in and plug to the tire instead of getting out and doing all four hoses because it's got It's supposed to be negative 40 freaking degrees so it's not like oh Kevin you're just being a little no negative 40. that's a little different guys come on get cold in 10 seconds yeah it's freaking freezy then one extra thing I wanted to do was add these Apex rapid deflators because again I'm not trying to be out here with a little manual screw-on valve trying to air down these tires when we need to air them down we might need to air them down and air them back up quite often so the only thing I want to tell you about these is that make sure you know whether you need the extended version or the regular version and the difference is that much right there this is the extended version it's right where it needs to be the short version would have been way yeah there you go they're way too short they would have been way down inside there you wouldn't be able to really get to them and like really really short so the extended version seems to be for like OEM type Wheels the regular version is for like aftermarket wheels so like my kmcs or anything else I use yeah it's been the short version so you see it's not crazy longer but if you have a wheel that doesn't need this you don't want this sticking out that's kind of what we're doing to get ready for the Arctic so we dismounting all the tires well not dismounting but so we can put the valves in them so I can rapid deflate ARB twin compressor gotta show you that so the twin compressor already has a mount in the Bronco okay you're like Kevin what do you mean it already has a mount well first off we're gonna be taking this whole Factor 55 recovery bag because who knows what's going to happen but let's pull that out real quick if you see Kevin here has this really cool drawer Kevin's never had storage in any of his vehicles and there's just everywhere inside there's just loose stuff everywhere now to be fair American Adventure lab here they hooked us up with this new drawer system now this is the first of its kind they're like no American Adventure lab does that yes they do and they've done it for a lot of vehicles their biggest thing is the Jeep but what they haven't done is this cool idea which is this is the first of its kind is check this out Wham and then you can open this and you can still get to your stuff under here you can get to hear Jack if you still need it see this is all stuff that's going to go in the drawer now tire patch kit and all this kind of stuff but the whole goal was to make sure that you didn't lose any storage because before on the jeep stuff you'd have to remove everything and then this just got bolted down and that was it well no longer is that the case and then back to the compressor I told AAL like hey I need a way to mount the ARB compressor so he actually made us two brackets he didn't know where I wanted to put it so this one over here is a two piece bracket there's a bracket here there's a bracket that I have to attach to get the pumps to go here but I didn't want to lose my cubby hole also Bronco with their actually pretty decent wisdom the aux switches in this vehicle they pre-wired to the back of the vehicle on the passenger quarter panel so I'm assuming if we pull this panel here the aux switch the aux switch power wire will already be there so this wakes way more sense to go ahead and um just attach the twin pumps right to that guy right there one last thing I forgot to mention about this new AAL system is that all these little holes here are actually actually threaded for these guys here so if you want to secure anything back here on top you can move these hooks anywhere you want he has these for sale as well these bungees that are adjustable they're super sick they kind of just attach like that and you can pull them longer I can't stand stuff in the back rolling around but now that we have this you can literally put these anywhere you want and start tying stuff down so that's super sick as well he thought of a lot of stuff on here it's uh it's pretty cool Chris over here what are you doing buddy I see you made some there's an amount for the chase light yeah there's no provision in the back for it and I don't have really a roof rack yet so we're just gonna he's just gonna whip this up real quick duplicate this on the back of the third brake light and just make a a lid and then Mount the light right above the third brake light yeah so we just pulled the whole third brake light is a little piece of aluminum that Chris just kind of vibrometered whipped up real quick this would be for the chase light we got that we got that we got all the cool radio stuff I want to bring extra fuel so I got two three gallon packs of Roto packs and then I have a spare tire mount what used to be on the stepchild where it straps around the spare tire and then we can mount those we're gonna bring a sleeping bag just in case I know y'all saw my little Saga with not being able to jump a vehicle when it was dead uh and then you all told me in the comment that you have to hold down the little zappy button on there and it would work which was right it does work that way but we've been having good luck with uh lithium stuff so we had anti-gravity we got with them because our video I guess is doing pretty well and I asked them if they had an actual starter kit and they do so the Bronco does not have an anti-gravity in it yet eventually I'm sure we will throw one in there and this would have been really cool to test already because we're gonna be a negative 30 negative 40 degrees to see how well it did down there but it's just gonna have a stock battery but I am bringing an anti-gravity jump pack just in case because that kind of weather really strange things happen when it's that cold so we don't want to be left there but that's that's pretty much it there's not oh I keep going through I know I keep going through little stuff and I'm this is all little things you have to think about so I got an air filter vehicle is brand new like Kevin why would you get an air filter I watched one of their other videos and it was so windy and so cold and all the snow dust blew into the intake got in and completely clogged the air filter oh god oh this is gonna be good oh my God [Laughter] oh oh man that is awesome look at this that is awesome wow so the engine wouldn't really run they had zero power so you bring a backup air filter you can swap it out put your frozen air filter on the feet of your floorboard with the heater on it so that way you can swap back and forth any vehicle but especially in a turbo vehicle it's sucking the air in where well I guess in a naturally aspirated vehicle it's still on that side of throttle body still sucking the air in but with the turbo there's little turbos there's a lot more volume of air being sucked through anyway it's all a little stuff like this I know I'm rambling but there's so many like little things that you want to try to think of ahead of time what's the other thing we need to bring oh a cooler you want to tell them why we need a cooler when it's negative 40 out because the cooler is thermal which means if you put something cold in it it stays cold if you put something warm in it it stays warm but if it's really cold you put something cold in it and it keeps it from freezing yeah here's like you you all need to take a cooler I'm like no we don't he's like no you need to take a cooler because like all your stuff's gonna freeze if you don't have a barrier I'm like oh yeah I guess we're taking a cooler all right so I'm going to start with these the radio actually I'm going to start getting all that done but this bracket here for the antenna looks like we found where it goes I thought it went in the rear first but it looks like it replaces this right here this bracket just fits right there and the antenna probably sits in a little pocket there inside so that's pretty trick that ruggy came up with that so that's where your antenna be right here it won't even be in the driver's line of sight it'll be like out here on the a-pillar so that's pretty cool we gotta figure out where that bracket goes I'm assuming that goes by the grab handle on the passenger side I also want to read through the instructions on that because there's a lot of things that can go wrong with electronics and it tells you like don't plug it in without the antenna attached because you can short stuff out so read the instructions Chris you're gonna have to read the constructions for the radio because it is very specific about I don't I don't want to damage the radio we're going to use these constructions this time because this is an important piece of communication this trip and I'm gonna pull these out and go charge those so we have handhelds as well the chase light is going to just get hooked to the wire that's already part of the aux switches because the chase light doesn't really draw anything but the ARB is going to need its own harness because it'll need like a four gauge ran to the back from the battery and then we'll just use one of the aux switches as uh switch Yeah that thing as an on off switch so it'll be hooked to the AUX but you can't run the twin ARB just off of the little wire that goes to the back that's just a switch power so but the chase light we can and we have to go to the store for that I don't know I don't think Crystal showed you that yet almost done almost done we gotta go to the store but that looks pretty sick safety safety first second third third while we were doing this we got an email in from ARB because we were looking to get these twin compressors and it's been from back order we actually stole these from American Adventure lab when he did the whole rear section I was like yo we need pumps too and he's like oh I just got some in you can go ahead and uh take one and just replace it so right now they have a promotion going to March 31st so if you buy one ARB air Locker you get 50 off of a single pump or 25 off of a dual pump now if you buy two lockers you get a free single pump or fifty percent off of the Dual Pump It Ends March 31st so if you're looking for lockers obviously now is the time to buy it because you get a free pump if you buy two or 50 off if you buy one all right so now if you think the boys have the harder job let me tell you because now although the boys have waited to the last like 24 hours the last possible minute to get the Bronco Raptor prepped for this three four-ish week Journey that we're about to embark on my job started like a month plus ago because it was designated to be my job to buy everything Supply wise specifically clothing wise that we would need not to get hypothermia and dye in negative 40 degree weather and if you're looking outside and you're like guys you live somewhere where it snows all the time like every single winter how do you not have cold weather clothing we do but there's a very big difference between 15 20 degrees and a little bit of snow and negative 40 degrees white out blizzards and literally dying because of the cold weather so generally these are the coldest weather things that we have are Carhartt bips I have a set Kevin has a set and they have come in infinite handy to all of the King of the Hammers that we've ever gone to where it gets to you know below freezing pretty frequently and we're outside the entire time but for this we needed something a little more heavy duty starting with these so these are baffin's polar proven boots for comparison there's Kevin's the last thing that I want to happen on this trip is to have cold feet all day long which is also why I have bought all of these socks not to mention all these ones that we already own okay so let me just preface this by saying that in the last month I've spent hours of research online about Arctic explorers and what Arctic explores where when they go Arctic exploring I've done this to try to make sure that we're as comfortable as possible because I would much rather have too many layers and too much warmth than not enough on this journey we are generally so drastically unprepared for any trip that we ever go on and I really don't want to be for this one at least where being warm is concerned so yeah this is essentially what I've discovered if you're prone to getting wet feet in the cold like Kevin is and you want to keep your feet dry and warm you need these These are polypropylene sock liners we've never used these before but from all of the research that I have done you put these on underneath your Merino wool socks and it's supposed to keep your feet dry and if your feet are dry they stay warmer longer we've never tried this tactic in the cold weather we'll see how it goes now for our base Slayers we're also bringing our willero shirts and pants Believe It or Not these are actually what we wear underneath our racing suits as in during King of the Hammers these are SFI and FIA rated and they are incredibly good at wicking moisture away from the body and keeping you warm when it's cold and cool when it's warm so we're bringing these we both have pants and shirts for that and then I bought us some Icebreaker merino wool base layers and mid layers as well and then for our outer layers you kind of saw us wearing those already but these are Kevin's just so you guys know both of the bibs that I bought for myself and for Kevin uh they're actually ice fishing bibs because I wanted something waterproof and super insulated and these also have removable insulation on the inside along with the jacket as well same goes for the bibs that I bought for myself the jacket on mine doesn't have removable insulation but honestly as I am absolutely the type of person who would rather be sweltering hot than cold how about I just show you real quick everything that I have to pack for this trip that we are leaving on in like 12 hours now then of course the most important part of the trip we simply cannot forget I'm just kidding they're not coming with us so this started happening in the last like two hours yay for living in the mountains okay so my friend Chris over here uh he's pretty much gotten done with everything I actually put these fog lights back on because they're not gonna be rock crawling so normally I have this removed it only took me about a half a day to get that back on it doesn't take very long to pull it off but anyway we got the fog lights on so we can have light at night right Chris has wired everything up and the funny part was he was like all right my calculations are correct your rear Amber will be on switch one because where's that sheet do you have that sheet he's like the rear Amber wheel on switch one and your air compressor will be on switch six so we have this guy on switch one and the air compressor oh do you have that mounted already that'll be on switch six so if you show them it says Ops one is yellow right Ox one yellow so I wired it up to Yellow it was like go ahead and hit one enough nothing happens I'm upset so I started flicking things and you hit aux three and the light comes out I'm like what that's not right it's supposed to be violet and green and I did not do violet and green I'm pretty sure even if you you were colorblind yeah yellow and violent and green would not look the same no because one doesn't have a stripe and the other one right so he was all mad granted we I was like look just pull up the Bronco because a Bronco Raptor doesn't have as much information out there as yes this is for a 21 Bronco right which is what I said I said bring up the 21 bring up a Bronco because the Bronco Raptor doesn't have much out there now we could have looked in the owner's manual but we didn't yeah that doesn't make sense to me either so the owner's manual is in the radio right but if you're wiring a vehicle you don't want it on when you're wiring like how do you well I mean I'm sure there's another menu in the glove box is there not I don't know I didn't look that far so I started searching and I was like oh let's make sure the fog lights work so the fog light button you just push the center right here Boop and fog lights come on wait why does it think come on anyway so only the items were coming on we couldn't figure out how to turn all four fog lights on only the Otters were turning on because we actually want to tint one of these yellow we couldn't figure it out so that I look on the Raptor forums and all I could find was the F-150 Raptor turns out the aux one that Chris wired that yellow wire to that's not the same on the Raptor the Raptor actually turns on can you hit it for the aux One turns on the inner fog lights so uh if you're wiring if you're wiring up a Bronco or a raptor it's more under the Raptor section of the Bronco section so the little bit the little push button where Chris was like all right that was the funniest thing he was so sure of himself he's like hit number one and then hit the aux oh boom there you go but you know what didn't happen as your yellow didn't turn on because somehow the yellow goes to switch three yeah but it all does work now you know if you have a Bronco raptor ox1 is your inner fog lights ox3 use your yellow anyway it doesn't matter it was just funny I thought I'd show you guys I've got the three gallon Roto packs on here so we don't run out of fuel oh Jesus so we're safe here if it we have some kind of whiteout condition we have our fuel and we have everything uh not packed up yet but we will have a sleeping bag and we have all of our warm clothes our extra air filter and that's it we just have to pack up in the morning and head are you glad you're not going on this trip or are you kind of sad you're not going semi it makes the Motions yeah that's kind of what I'm curious about because it's like a cool cool trip uh trip of a lifetime but at the same time like negative 40 doesn't sound right like negative words does not sound especially when you're not driving your own vehicle I bet you would like it if you're like I could take my own vehicle yeah Steve's gone I'd probably be all in there do you think thieves would actually survive the headlines but I don't know if they're charged it's so cold it is freezing I made it oh hey there sexy are you going to charge these These are brand new I haven't even used these so USB charger which is super sick so you plug this in and it's got I don't know what this is like a mil-spec connector with a little o-ring you have different whites like brightness and then also red which is really good for when you're in an area with bugs but anyway this is what we use this light bar Pro that's been as you just saw in underneath the stepchild in the bag they literally shipped to me I don't even know how freaking long ago look how wore out this postage is March 22nd 2021 what do we you got rooty tooty fresh and fruity over here so anyway I haven't even charged this yet I was just talking to you guys about this look at this it's crazy this has been sitting here for over two years hold it down goes off and then boom red can't see anymore we may or may not have had a drink or two confirm or deny Chris anyway I'll leave in the morning and I'm glad I found these so I can charge them because it's a USB we've officially finished mostly them I finished packing everything getting it all together and then they put it in the Bronco I'm not gonna lie I'm actually pretty impressed for how terribly these two usually stack like the dishwasher you're not as bad at it I'm pretty surprised how well they did with the Broncos like I don't even understand so Kevin all showed you the Roto packs and the light but ta-da it kind of all fits and then normally everything that's loose in the Jeep yeah look at that so we got the jump starter there we got impact all the recovery gear air up gear although we even got Mountain House meals set up so they got the burner and stuff and then we have a backpack full of Mountain House meals so if we do get stranded just in case we just need water but we'd probably have snow so then you'd have to melt snow and whatever we wouldn't die essentially if if we got lost I mean well we wouldn't die as quickly I've got a lot of I've got a lot I'll last longer than you Kevin would die less quickly than I was I don't know if we ever showed it but the Broncos leaking water in oh yeah so Chris glued this up and then he put us Rubber seal right here oh yeah so this hits this yeah we're having issues like just from Factory like when it rained this was getting soaking wet and flooded so yeah we've resealed it we that's where we figured out it was coming through was the top edge of the rear windshield right back in here anyway that's good and then as far as the back seat goes [Music] but there's organization here so everything on this side this side mine my boots my jackets my bibs and then everything on this side is Kevin's Kevin's jackets bibs and Boots my laptop bag because can't go anywhere without that and then this is full of beanies gloves Etc easy access around each of the and then headlights around each of the headrests so you can grab those any rugging like this is magnetic instead of having a little clip yeah you have handhelds in each door can you get out you grab your handheld got our handhelds tissues because cold weather runny noses go hand in hand and then we've also got the fog lights yeah so Chris put some yellow film over we tinted them yellow yeah so we can have some better visibility in snowy conditions yeah I don't know I guess that's it I guess that's it this is be for any trip we have ever gone on I mean which makes sense like the Arctic Circle kind of a big deal yeah kind of a big deal you don't want to screw up there yeah I mean dying there would kind of suck amongst other places that we could die I guess so anyways guys as always thank you so much for watching please don't forget to like subscribe and share remember you can find all your light bright Nation merch and decals at lightbrightstudios.com as always we love you and we hope to see you next time bye guys except except for Chris [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go come here you're gonna be with your stupid little face come here give me with your stupid little piece thank you come on Peanut come here [Music] come on come on all right
