Premiere Pro VS Davinci Resolve - EDITING SHOWDOWN

[Music] today we have two editors representing two different softwares and they will be editing the exact same scene [Music] hey I'm Alex Howard and I'm going to be using Premiere Pro in this editing Showdown I'm Carson Adblock and I will be using DaVinci Resolve in this editing Showdown and all of this will be done in one hour me and Alex have been using DaVinci for the last little while I've been using DaVinci all year Alex has just switched over in the last few months now I do have the advantage in that I am sticking with da Vinci and I'm not having to go back to Premiere so I'm very very excited about that it gives me a huge legs up in that I'm not having to sit there and try and refigure certain things out and deal with the struggles of Premiere as well so I am like that leg up is a huge help so uh I'm pretty soaked for the challenge so I mean I am a little worried because I switched over to Da Vinci like a month ago and so I'm worried I might like forget how to do some things in Premiere um but I use premiere for longer before my switch to Da Vinci before Karsten did so I might have that Advantage like I'm more used to it let's not waste any more time and let the challenge begin [Music] hey I can't get the audio to secret it's so dumb I can't get the audio to synchronize the when we recorded the audio back six months ago it was way too quiet I had brought it up 30 decimals and it was still only hitting negative 20. so that was a huge hit in that my audio quality is not going to be there [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] so uh I'm cruising just picked out a song uh got the cut together so my rub cut isn't even done yet I haven't been able to really fully watch every like I looked at a little snippet of each clip but I'm basically just throwing things together and hoping that it works um and I'm really trying to get the audio to sound good like I've like mixed the audio from the boom when they Boom the different people I like cut back and forth even if the shot is not cutting back and forth and so that's been an issue kind of blending those into everything these editors are at two completely different places [Music] all right I uh just finished exporting it is there is about 15 minutes left okay so I just have to find some music um finding good music is so difficult but I'm stealing some music from Carson Studios assets so that's gonna work great [Music] thank you and that's the challenge well I finished the scene uh four minutes to spare basically I exported really fast Carston basically finished like 10 minutes before me I'm very very happy with how the scene turned out it hits that end moment after he just yelled shut up and then the piano plays Works beautifully like it is very very nice I actually haven't watched it through yet so I don't know exactly but I think I'm pretty happy with how with the clips I chose and how I've edited them together now it's time for voting go to the incident film's Instagram page or in the comments below let us know which scene you pick to come out on top yeah but we could have worked it out well they are now what we fight once and then you go out with some other people I never kissed him well okay in high school now it doesn't matter we weren't gonna work out anyways no can we no yes no shut up [Music] [Music] [Music] you know we were already having problems yeah but we could have worked them out they were too extreme they are now what we fight once and then you go out with some other people I never kissed him what are we in high school what does it matter we weren't gonna work out anyways I can't good so we're on the same page then no but no yes we are shut up
