PREDATORS vs. DIAMONDBACKS | MLW Wiffle Ball 2023

[Music] the Diamondbacks returned to The Meadows today as they look to start off hot in their potential three-peat winning seasons but it will be no easy task as two-time MVP Ryan crash and the preds stand in their way hello everybody and welcome back to The Meadows I'm Kyle Schultz alongside TC3 we've got an elite matchup today with a lot of talent and a lot of big names in mlw and one of those big names is of course Jimmy Miller the last year's World Series MVP and just one of the best all-around players in mlw Channel wise he can do it on offense he can do it on defense he can do it on the mound he's just the total package a true five tool guy and he's joined by his partners in crime Michael Shima and Jonah he those two both played big roles in those last two title winning seasons and to round off their roster they have both Casey Bennett and Trey flood here today and looking at the Pacific Predators they have everybody except for their rookie Jake Longman uh as well as on the other side of the D-backs they don't have pishka so both rookies in this series are not in action it'll give some other guys some opportunities which is good to see but when you're looking at the preds they of course have Ryan cratch the two-time MVP like I said Alec Warrior Brendan Russell Stephen mcglade and Rudy Ramirez he was actually the gliac player of the year uh he's a really good baseball player so he's hoping 2023 is kind of his breakout year in Wiffle ball that is yeah Rudy undoubtedly is one of the best athletes in mlw that's from non-biased standpoints we'll see how it translates today he has struggled in the past but I think he has the potential to get it done and I do want to go into more of the pitching matchup right now it's a really good one Ryan crash versus Jimmy North for the projected starters in game one both guys that are always in Cy Young contention and conversation every single year so last year crash had that 129 era North not too far behind him at 220 but two guys that feature a lot of different pitches and guys that really learned from the year before and experiment and expand their Arsenal so these guys will bring it at the metal stay for sure for sure and fans last week we were excited to announce the Detroit series that's coming up in just a few weeks additionally we will be in Philly on June 24th the mileage will be taking on the prez in a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park on the fan field Wiffle ball field before the Phillies play that day for more information on that event in the description below only 100 tickets one without further Ado it's time now for player interviews our crash in your speech when you won that MVP award you mentioned that you want uh another world series title and 2023 could be that year What's it gonna take to start off in this season um I mean it takes a lot of different things uh we've been doing as much as we can to prepare for this series over the past couple months and uh you know it's just going to keep building as the year goes on so hopefully by the end of it you know we're a complete team and we're everything we need to be to make that run all right North it's no secret you guys are back-to-back Champs so I want to know what you told your guys to motivate them um and and not make sure they're coming in here when they're high horse thinking that you're going to win the series just because you are the D-backs yeah you know I told my guys on the way here we have nothing else to prove you know play loose we're a good team we know that it's important though that we get off to a strong start this year because I can't lie getting off that slow start last year was very stressful for the rest of the year so the preds are a good team it's gonna be a tough task today but we're hoping to come up with a series win so we can stay on top early this year love it preds defects here we go Prime Time matchup right here Dbacks [Music] three two counts lead off game one and Pitch from Jimmy and it hit him Ball Four that was a slider with some late bite but crashes every right to that batter's box fall for [Music] ball four on four and it's first and second for Brennan Russell he's had a knack for the big moment especially early in the year he's got two guys on here against North in the first inning Russell again in the first Lane he owns this slate it seems like every year he's going yard and once more early on in the season boom Russ gets it done three of friends just like that let's go Russell yeah oh yeah shot the right field running Russell again in the first place oh he's painting the corner there swing in a Miss got him on strikes two down for water inside good eyes from Alec oh what a pitch from Jimmy Norm lands the drop ball absolute 12-6 movement take another look right here however Russ strikes first with that three run bomb and that is our score 3-0 as we head to the bottom of the first missed up ball four quickly to Jimmy great pitch from Ryan crash on the corner strike three bear ball to the right side over the base the flip no and North goes to third oh that's a mistake in the field if you look at the replay right here Warda waited on it thought it was gonna go foul and then at jolts back fair right over the base and that's costly it's first and third now for the D-backs swing a Miss nice pitch from Ryan cratch that is a big out two outs now four Jimmy North and it hit him Ball Four they did have a base open and now we're loaded for number nine Jonah Heath in a huge spot Fair ball to the left side crash one hand foot throw it out of Play Not only will one run score but two as that is an overthrow error and they get two back oh that's costly 3-2 game in the first great job from Jonah to put that ball in play he was down 0-2 in the count earlier in that a b [Music] swinging a miss nice pitch from Ryan crash gets out of it they maintain the lead 3-2 game going to the second swinging Amaze nice pitch from Jimmy North outside ball four shows it and sits him down oh that was sick he's really finding that slider here [Music] nice pitch from Jimmy North the drop ball there sits down Russell clean frame three to two headed to the bottom of the second true dude he's got an extra step swinging a Miss Shima chasing in the turf [Music] but a pitch from Ryan crash a little slide drop there [Music] oh what a knuckleball from Ryan I cannot wait to see the replays on that that thing was dancing all the way to the tin and another clean frame swing a Miss Perfect speed at 72. hard hit to the left side of Shima got him at first that is what Shima does and Heath very clean at first as he always is that is Diamondback defense free folks she was a black hole out there stop fall four hard hit up the middle knocks it down but nobody's there safe at first first and second Russ beats it out North almost with an insane acrobatic play to recover but Brennan Russell with another hit first and second for Rudy [Music] 3-2 Remains the score and the prez looked uh closed out here in game one Ryan cratch back to the mountain to right side and it is an out fly out water secures it one pitch one out two pitches two outs in the third what's it called when you get three threes Immaculate inning uh so what is this just a three pitch Innings guys this could be a three pitch inning lab it in The Savage yeah you had to be taken all the way if you're just all right there goes the three-pitching now norp we'll try to extend this game give his team Life part it up the middle he will do just that it's a single it's his first ever mlw win 3-1 final score great performance from trains just the one flaw in that Alex wore a home run but that will lead us into a game three rubber match between the preds and the D-backs interesting development here and I love it Trey flood getting the game three start shows a lot of confidence in the Young Gun [Music] one way in the first [Music] blood strike three looking on
