Prayers For Forgiveness Of Sins, Renewal, and Repentance

a prayer of repentance and forgiveness of sin mark 16 verse 16 he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned this statement was made by jesus during his earthly ministry shortly before he ascended to heaven jesus mandated his disciples to go into the world and preach the gospel to the lost souls he then affirmed that whosoever believe in him shall be saved and not face condemnation we are naturally born into a world that is overwhelmed by sin giving us a sinful nature therefore it becomes necessary for us to accept the light of god into our lives and ask for forgiveness of our sins we don't have to go through our day today with guilt following us we don't have to go through our day to day with a feeling the spirit of condemnation is following us and we don't have to go through our day-to-day with unforgiven sin because the bible says in first john 1 verse 9 if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness so let us pray lord i come before you in the mighty and powerful name of jesus [Music] to thank you lord for what you did for me on the cross your word says in john 3 verse 16. for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life [Music] thank you for the love you have for me thank you for giving your only begotten son so that i may have life father you did not have to give your only son for me but you did because of your love for me and for that i am ever thankful and ever grateful that my savior my king left his throne above in the heavens to come down to this world to carry my sins and to be nailed to the cross thank you father for the salvation that is made available to all lord i humbly come before you i know i'm a sinner i know i'm not worthy of your love or pardon but your grace has found me i humbly come before your throne of mercy that i may receive pardon for my sins lord i ask you in the name of jesus that you may have mercy on my soul and forgive my sins in jesus name your word asserts in hebrews 4 verse 16 let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need according to this promise of hope and assurance i come boldly before your throne father and ask that you may grant mercy i confess all the sins and the transgressions that i have committed unto you and i ask forgiveness father i ask that you may forgive me for every lie i have told forgive me lord for every impure thought or action i have committed have mercy upon me o lord forgive me for any time i have fallen short of the standard of your holy word in jesus name i know my righteousness is like that of a filthy rag wash me clean by your blood in jesus name purge my sins and sanctify my life in jesus name i need your sanctification sanctify my life in jesus name just like the psalmist prayed in psalm 51 verse 10 create in me a clean heart o god and renew a right spirit within me likewise i am praying unto you asking you lord that you may renew the right spirit within me in jesus name create in me a clean heart cast me not away from your presence o lord restore to me the joy of salvation in jesus name your word says in 2 corinthians 5 21 for he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of god in him let this come into fruition in my life that i may be made in the righteousness of god in jesus name my own righteousness can't save me it is like a filthy rag let your righteousness become mine in jesus name you are the only one who can sustain or keep me standing till the end i'm crying unto you my god keep me from all sins in jesus name deliver me from the power and bondage of sin in jesus name i believe in your word which states in john 8 36 so if the son sets you free you will be free indeed [Music] i gain and maintain my total freedom through what jesus did for me on the cross i believe that i am now a new being in christ jesus old things have passed away everything concerning my life has become new in jesus name i am tired of rising and falling lord help me to stand firmly for you i don't want to keep hurting your heart lord deliver me from all my besetting sins i receive the grace to walk triumphantly over sin like you did while you were physically on earth lord i want to testify like apostle paul that i am more than a conqueror over sin help me lord to set my affection on things that are eternal rather than on mundane things it says in your holy word in first samuel 2 verse 9 he will keep the feet of his saints and the wicked shall be silent in darkness for by strength shall no man prevail [Music] many times lord i have made resolutions not to sin again but i have come to a dead end my strength will ever fail me i keep sinning even when i know it's the wrong thing to do i know what is right but i lack the strength to do it lord it is you alone that can keep a man from falling not falling is not by might nor by power but by your spirit forgive me for the times i have sinned and grieved the holy spirit i am so sorry lord i am sorry that i have tried to get my own way and follow my own interests without you forgive me holy spirit i yield myself before you first john 1 verse 9 if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness i know you are faithful lord thank you for cleansing my sin and making me a new being entirely thank you for taking away my unrighteousness and making me the righteousness of god thank you lord for blotting out my transgressions and giving me a new record thank you lord for the salvation of my soul as i receive your light into my life i shall not know sin anymore in jesus name i shall not look back to the things of this sinful world in jesus name i shall stand to the end for god i declare my dominion over sin in jesus name amen a prayer for forgiveness of sins and repentance the bible says in first john 5 4 that whosoever is born of god sinneth not but he that is begotten of god keepeth himself and that the wicked one toucheth him not factually from that assertion we can deduce the frailty and weakness of a man when it comes to living a life of absolute holiness everyone born of a woman is a sinner sin is an inherent trait in fact someone rightly said we are not sinners because we are sinning we are sinning because we are sinners forgiveness therefore becomes god's effective system of bringing man back to himself at every time [Music] if forgiveness is plucked out of our walk with god then every man will be bound for hell lamentations 3 verse 22 to 23 it is of the lord's mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not they are new every morning great is thy faithfulness however what guarantees that a man will be the recipient of divine forgiveness is genuine repentance anyone who is too big to repent from his or her sins will be too small to obtain forgiveness and mercy from the loving god the bible also established in psalm 51 verse 17 that the sacrifices of god are a broken spirit a broken and a contrite heart o god thou wilt not despise herein is god's forgiveness being showcased in a repentant heart there is something god cannot despise it is a broken and a contrite heart a heart that is full of godly sorrow yes the bible says that the cry of a sinner is like the barking of a dog in the ears of god nevertheless there is this cry of a sinner that god cannot pretend not to hear it is the mercy cry mercy is the character of god and it is impossible for god to deny himself now let us cry unto god for forgiveness lord god of heaven i humble myself before your presence and i ask that you cloth me with your righteousness for we all are as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy wrecks lord if you are to mark iniquity there is none that can stand before you i do not come to you dear father in my righteousness but in the righteousness of your holy son jesus christ whom you have made as a ransom for sin i present myself humbly before you please make me a recipient of your mercy father your word says in ezekiel 33 11 that you don't have any pleasures in the death of a sinner but that he turns from his sins and lives i hereby confess my unrighteousness and misleads before you for unto you and to you alone have i sinned and done wickedly i have broken your orders and transgressed your laws please forgive me lord like the publican in luke 18 verse 13 to 14 who could not lift up his eyes to you for the greatness of his sins so have i come my good works cannot justify me but your precious blood can lord jesus wash me and i will be clean pardon me and i shall be forgiven i come before you in the name of jesus christ and confess every sin and transgression i have committed before you o lord have mercy on me father everything that i have done knowingly and unknowingly that does not meet the standards of your word i ask that you may have mercy upon me lord god almighty forgive me father lord your word says that you will in no wise cast away anyone that comes to you do not cast me away from your presence and do not withdraw your holy spirit from me remember the sacrifice of your son am able to do what your word says in galatians 5 16 to walk by the spirit so that i will not gratify the desires of the flesh lord i desire to live a life in the spirit to live a life whereby i am tender to your spirit let not my heart be hard like pharaoh's heart and exodus but let my heart be tender towards you i love you lord god almighty with all my heart with everything that this in but i cannot live a life according to your standards without you holy spirit work in me father in jesus name to do and act righteously is not in any mortal man only you lord can impart the strength for righteous living i therefore cling to you and plead for the forgiveness of my past sins i also ask for strength and grace to sin no more [Music] your word says in jeremiah 31 verse 34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor and every man has brother saying know the lord for they shall all know me from the least of them unto the greatest of them saith the lord for i will forgive their iniquity and i will remember their sin no more these are your word lord god almighty i humbly ask for the fulfillment of the scripture in my life as you have also promised in isaiah 1 18 that you will wash me and make me clean as white as snow i ask that you blot out my sins and never remember them help me to know you more and impute your fear in me in jesus name have mercy upon me o god according to thy lovingkindness according unto the multitude of thy thunder mercies blot out my transgressions wash me throughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin for i acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me against thee the only have i sinned and done this evil in thy sight that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest and be clear when thou judgest behold i was shapen in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me behold thou desires truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part thou shalt make me though no wisdom purge me with hyssop and i shall be clean wash me and i shall be whiter than snow make me to hear joy and gladness that the bones which thou has broken may rejoice hide thy face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities create in me a clean heart o god and renew alright spirit within me cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy holy spirit from me restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit amen [Music] a prayer to ask for a forgiving heart mark 11 25-26 and whenever you stand praying if you have anything against anyone forgive him that your father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses but if you do not forgive neither will your father in heaven forgive your trespasses forgiveness is first of all a divine attribute it is a character that seems tough for a natural man or woman to imbibe however it is a must for every believer to forgive anyone that have offended them otherwise they will not receive divine mercy as much as god is displeased when we choose to offend people he is also displeased when we fail to forgive our offenders one of the implications of not forgiving those who offend you is that you will not receive forgiveness for your own sins and you will not receive answers to your prayers psalms 130 3-4 reads thus if you lord should mark iniquities o lord who could stand but there is forgiveness with you that you may be feared if god is to take our offenses against him into account there is none of us that can stand before him the truth is that the offense we have committed against god is greater compared to whatever anyone has done against us so god is just if having forgiven us our sins he demands that we forgive our offenders however it will be difficult for us to develop the heart of forgiveness until god helps us to love others as he has loved us the moment god helps you to begin to forgive others you will begin to reflect his true nature forgiveness does not just affect the person being forgiven it heals the forgiver also you become better when you learn to forgive people let us pray dear heavenly father in jesus name i thank you for the indescribable and unconditional love you have for me thank you lord for not giving up on me lord jesus i thank you for giving up your life in order to redeem me back to god thank you for dying for me while i was yet a sinner lord you loved me when i was unlovable and you forgive all my iniquities and unrighteousness i thank you father for the blood of jesus that atoned for my numerous and innumerable sins i bless you lord for your word in hebrews 8 12 which says for i will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their inequities will i remember no more merciful father i thank you for forgiving all my trespasses thank you for blotting out my transgressions and thank you for not keeping record of my iniquities i glorify you lord because you did not judge me according to the multitude of my sins lord i know that i do not deserve your grace but you gave it through love therefore i cry out and pray that you forgive me for all that i still do which are against your will i pray that you should give me the grace to live a blemish free life in jesus name lord you demand that we forgive all that have offended us so that god will also forgive our own sins i confess that i cannot attain forgiveness on my own except that you help me forgiveness is beyond my reach lord give me a heart like yours a heart that does not register people's wrongs dear father it is easier for me to retain people's offenses and to seek to revenge than to forgive them help me to see the great mercy you showed me at calvary and help me to show such to all those who hurt me lord i don't want to be like the unforgiving servant in matthew 18 who received such a great pardon but will not reciprocate such to a fellow servant as himself lord i acknowledge that i owe you more than anyone owes me i sin against you more than anyone had or will ever sin against me give me a forgiving heart that easily let go of offenses give me the ability to forgive in advance so that when people offend me it will be easy to overlook their offenses and forgive immediately let me learn to understand each person according to their character so that i won't react to every action unnecessarily my god we live in a world filled with so many people i meet them daily on the street at my place of work in the neighborhood and even in the church i ask for the spirit to relate with them in love and not keep records of their offenses in jesus name father i repent of the sin of not holding people's offenses against them and i humbly ask for your mercy please do not allow your wrath to come upon me as it is said concerning the unforgiving servant in matthew 18 34-35 which says and his lord was wroth and delivered him to the tormentors till he should pay all that was due unto him so likewise shall my heavenly father do also unto you if ye from your hearts forgive not even his brother their trespasses father today i resolve to let go of every offense people have committed against me i release all that have sinned against me or hurt me in any way that i have locked up in the prison yard of my heart lord i receive the heart to bear whatever offense anyone would commit against me henceforth because your word says in matthew 18 7 that offenses are inevitable help me lord to prepare against offenses that are not yet committed against me like stephen help me lord to be able to forgive to the point of death for he prayed for his persecutors in acts 7 60 which says and he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice lord lay not this sin to their charge and when he had said this he fell asleep lord you must have helped stephen to such a point that he can pray for the forgiveness of those who murdered him if you did it in stephen's life you can do the same in my life give me a forgiving heart o lord lord you told peter the number of times required to forgive those who offend us matthew 18 21-22 then peter came up and said to him lord how often shall my brothers sin against me and forgive him as many as seven times jesus said to him i do not say to you seven times but seventy times seven jesus instructs that i should forgive my brethren as many times as possible heavenly father fill my heart with love towards my fellow so that i can forgive easily when i am offended as many times as possible let kindness be my nature and let peace consume my thoughts in jesus name luke 6 37 judge not and you will not be judged condemn not and you will not be condemned forgive and you will be forgiven in the name of jesus i decree and declare that i will no longer condemn speak evil gossip about people around me i will always learn to forgive so that god can forgive my sins your words say in philippians 3 13 i can do all things in him who strengthens me therefore i confess this scripture and i decree that it begins to manifest in my life i know that there are some sins that may be difficult for me to forgive but through your strength lord i pray that i forgive every sin lord henceforth i don't want to offer any service in your house that will not be acceptable to you help me to be humble enough to seek to reconcile with those that have offended me lord i receive a heart that seeks peace and the spirit of reconciliation i thank you lord for answering my prayers in jesus name amen [Music] forever to be quick to repent jeremiah 31 verse 19 surely after my turning i repented and after i was instructed i struck myself on the thigh i was ashamed yes even humiliated because i bore the reproach of my youth the bible says for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god sin contradicts god's will for us the eyes of god cannot behold sin and that is why jesus came to save us a believer is not saved so that he she can continue to wallow in sin this is our new life in christ the bible says he that is born of god does not sin this is to say the new creation lives in righteousness and all works of unrighteousness are done away with in the opening verse prophet jeremiah said he strayed which means he was formally aware of the right path but he strayed he went in the way of his will or desires but when he realized that it wasn't god's will for him he repented as a believer who knows god's will you must consciously walk according to the word of god because sin does not have dominion over you you no longer walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit the holy spirit and god's inspired word are your guides so that you don't fall into sin sin is dangerous to a believer but if a believer falls into sin it is important that he she realizes it and quickly repents from it it takes a heart that knows god and his will that men should live without sin but in holiness before quick repentance can take place when jesus was on earth a major message he preached was repentance matthew chapter 4 verse 17 says from that time when jesus began to preach repent for the kingdom of heaven has come near it is therefore essential that a believer repents when he she falls into sin repentance should be genuine and every believer should avoid sin by consciously walking in the spirit acts chapter 3 verse 19 says repent then and turn to god so that your sins may be wiped out the times of refreshing may come from the lord if you are a believer and you have not been experiencing god in your walk of faith like you should you need to check your life and examine your ways we must first get rid of our filthiness by repenting before we can come near to god let us pray dear heavenly father i thank you lord for your mercy and love by your mercy i have not perished and by your love you have not allowed satan to take over my life thank you father for saving grace thank you for not allowing me to perish in my sins father thank you for the blood of jesus which cleanses me which protects me and preserves me thank you jesus for shedding your precious blood for the remission of my sins thank you for taking my place on the cross thank you so much for paying a debt that you did not owe thank you for your everlasting kindness and unequaled forbearance that has kept me from experiencing the wrath that comes upon the children of disobedience thank you for your word it has come to me today romans chapter 6 verse 25 says for the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life through jesus christ our lord lord you have not paid me the wages of my sins your mercy overlooks them when you behold the blood of your only begotten son father i ask for forgiveness for every act of sin that i have committed i plead for your mercy and pray that your love will cover the multitude of sins i pray that you will cleanse my heart and keep my feet from falling into sin my heart is quick to repent and receptive to corrections lord i ask for the grace not to go astray but stay on this path of righteousness proverbs chapter 28 13 declares that he that covereth his sins shall not prosper but who so confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy i pray father god that you may give me the spirit of repentance and that i may not cover my sins because nothing is hidden from you because i desire to prosper lord and your word also says in first john chapter 1 verse 8 if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us far be it from me lord that i may deceive myself i confess my sins to you o lord please have mercy upon me for you are faithful and just to forgive my sins and to cleanse from all unrighteousness the psalmist said in his words of repentance against thee the only have i sinned and done this evil in thy sight help me lord always repent when i have sinned and fallen short of your glory i confess that you are a perfect god holy and righteous lord your word says in 2 corinthians chapter 7 verse 10 godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret but worldly sorrow brings death lord i yearn for a sober heart that pricks when sin is near i pray that every root of sin is uprooted from my life father i receive grace to live by the holy spirit within me my spirit is rooted in righteousness i am born of god and i do not commit sin sin is not my nature therefore i refuse to fall into old sins or enticing ones i consciously walk by the spirit in jesus name have mercy upon me o god according to thy lovingkindness i pray that you blot out my transgressions and wash me thoroughly from my iniquity cleanse me lord from my sins and help me to acknowledge my transgressions i know lord i am no longer a slave of sin because what you did on the cross for me i receive your grace o lord to always overcome temptation to commit sin your word says that i am more than an overcomer holy spirit take over my heart and lead me in the path of righteousness in jesus name lord i pray for every unbeliever out there that is stranded and lost in the sin i pray that you will have mercy on them they will come to realize your love and salvation their heart will be quick to repent and accept eternal life i pray that you will break every stony heart and men will receive the gospel of truth romans chapter 2 verse 5 says but because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of the lord's wrath when his righteous judgment will be revealed lord i ask by your mercy that men will be rescued from this coming wrath let their hearts be receptive to your word lord as your servants and disciples preach your word let there be salvation that every bondage of sin be broken and captive shall be freed let righteousness and holiness prevail in this polluted world cause men to see the light of salvation and abandon their worldly lifestyle quicken every heart to repent and serve you the only true god i pray psalms 51 verse 10 to 12 over me which states created me of clean heart o god and renew a right spirit within me cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy holy spirit from me restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit in jesus name father i thank you for being a forgiving god i ask that you may give me the strength to forgive myself and for me not to have spirit of guilt i believe you have forgiven me i received the fact that you have forgiven me father i ask for that you may fill me with your holy spirit for i know i can resist the temptations of the flesh through your spirit father you are the source of holiness you are a holy god and your word has instructed me to be holy because you are a holy god i desire to live a holy life a life that is pleasing in your eyes a life that exalts you for you alone deserve to be exalted and worshiped and adored thank you everlasting father for answered prayers in jesus name i have prayed amen [Music] god's mercies are the hallmark of blessings without his mercies there will be no forgiveness of sins for god's presence to operate in our lives we must repent confess all our sins and be compassionate to others to repent implies changing our sinful ways and surrendering our lives entirely to jesus christ therefore repentance is vital for it opens to us the gates of salvation when we repent from our sins we receive mercy from god according to proverbs chapter 28 verse 13 that says he who covers his sins will not prosper but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy people might wonder why nothing ever seems to go their way they never seem to get ahead in life or breakthrough one potential cause could be because they have unconfessed sin in their life god's mercy gives us a second chance operating under these mercies makes us attain our purpose and provides us with a channel to win souls for god romans chapter 9 verse 15 to 16 says for he says to moses i will have mercy and i will have compassion on whomever i will have compassion so then it is not of him who wills nor of him who runs but of god who shows mercy ephesians chapter 2 verse 4 to 7 says but god being rich in mercy because of the great love with which he loves us even when we were dead in our trespasses made us alive together with christ by grace you have been saved and raised us with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in christ jesus so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in christ jesus if you can pray this prayer every day let us pray o precious lord i am so grateful for your endless mercy and love upon my life thank you for counting me worthy of your compassion you have displayed kindness to me despite all my offenses misgivings and wrongdoings oh dear lord your word says in psalms 51 17 a broken repentant and contrite heart you will not despise this is what you require of me lord therefore i come before you in the name of jesus christ with a contrite heart asking you lord for your forgiveness i bring forward to you lord all of my wrongdoings everything that i have done that does not uphold the standard of your holy word i ask for your mercy and your grace cleanse me with the precious blood of jesus christ forgive me lord i repent your word says in psalms 139 verse 23 and 24 search me o god and know my heart try me and know my anxieties and see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way of everlasting father in the name of jesus cleanse and forgive me from all sin fill me with your wisdom and your word so that i may live a life that is pleasing to you and be strengthened to stay strong and unmovable in my faith thank you father that i as i honestly repent you extend your pardon and mercy forgive me for any time in which i have not put you in first position in my life have mercy upon me lord for any time i have prioritized other things that are not of you lord lord forgiving me for harboring unforgiveness in my heart because i know that if i do not forgive others you will not forgive me therefore as i am praying in this time i forgive absolutely everyone who has wronged me or who has ever wronged me so that i may gain forgiveness from you lord i refuse to let unforgiveness be a hindrance for me receiving forgiveness from you lord forgive me father for any time i have allowed fear or doubt to reside in my mind i know lord that without faith it is impossible to please you therefore i know doubting and fear does not please you lord forgive me of this in the name of jesus as i am here i ask that as i continue to listen to your word my faith may grow because your word says faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of god you are an amazing father who calls and gives sweet rest to all people who call on you when they are sorrowful comfortless oppressed and weary thank you precious jesus that you carry the lost sheep back into the flock in your hands you are always ready to listen to my cry of confession and graciously forgive me for all my sins and guilt o jesus you came to seek and save the lost and buried things my trust is in you restore to me every waste place in my heart please show me the implication of my failures dear god second corinthians chapter 5 verse 21 says for god made christ who never sinned to be the offering for my sins so that i could be made the righteousness of god in christ jesus thank you that you have granted me some certain rights i receive them now in the name of jesus and i am grateful for them as a new creation in jesus christ i acknowledge the gift of righteousness that i have received by grace through faith and all other gifts abundant life health salvation peace prosperity and joy i lay aside now every sin and wait that so easily besets me and slows my growth and i now look at jesus who is the author and finisher of my faith first john chapter 1 verse 9 says if i confess my sins you are faithful and forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness i confess all my sins i receive your forgiveness now in the name of jesus i may not feel as if you have forgiven me or may not feel righteous before your presence but your word says it and so i believe it your holy word is final in my life now lord as i have accepted your forgiveness i ask that you may give me the strength to forgive myself and to not let the spirit of guilt overshadow me or to torment me i now put on the breastplate of righteousness and take up the shield of faith with which i will be able to quench every fiery dance of the evil thank you lord that i can now reign in life as a priest and king through jesus christ i am grateful because of christ i have overcome the power of death and sin i am not ruled by the power of evil but ruled by you lord therefore i am more than a conqueror through jesus who loves me i purposely walk consciously of my righteousness in christ for sin no longer dominates me thank you for forgiving me thank you for the gift of righteousness through christ jesus because of this gift i am a new creature i have been translated to from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of your dear son thank you that through christ and his anointing i am strengthened and i can do all things amen and amen [Music] a prayer of penitence acts 2 verses 37 to 38 now when they heard this they were cut to the heart and said to peter and the rest of the apostles men and brethren what shall we do then peter said to them repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the holy spirit repentance is a necessary prerequisite for salvation no one would ever be saved if he has not repented and no one will ever repent until he is pricked in his heart by the conviction of his or her sins in acts 2 verse 39 the bible shows us the necessity of repentance in bringing salvation to any man there are a lot of promises that god has for his people but only when we repent from our sins can we be qualified to access the reality of those promises however repentance is not a process that only the sinners need to undergo although we have given our lives to christ there are still traces of imperfection in us because we are living in the flesh sometimes we may stumble into sin at such we need to repent and be restored to god each time the holy spirit convicts us of any sin we must not hesitate to humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness maintaining a humble and contrite heart is the first step towards obtaining forgiveness of sins believers are not expected to sin willfully if we do we will incur god's wrath but when we sin out of ignorance we then need to take a spiritual bath by praying the prayer of repentance let us pray thank you lord for your mercy and grace upon my life father thank you for the blood of jesus which cleanses me which protects me and preserves me thank you jesus for shedding your precious blood for the remission of my sins thank you for taking my place on the cross thank you so much for paying a debt that you did not owe roman 6 verse 23 says for the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life through jesus christ our lord lord you have not paid me the wages of my sins your mercy overlooked them when you behold the blood of your only begotten son proverbs 28 13 declares that he that covereth his sins shall not prosper but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy i pray father god that you may give me the spirit of repentance and that i may not cover my sins because nothing is hidden from you because i desire to prosper lord and your word also says in first john 1 verse 8 if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us far be it from me lord that i may deceive myself i confess my sins to you o lord please have mercy upon me for you are faithful and just to forgive my sins and to cleanse from all unrighteousness the psalmist said in his words of repentance against thee the only have i sinned and done this evil in thy sight help me lord to always repent when i have sinned and fallen short of your glory i confess that you are a perfect god holy and righteous have mercy upon me o god according to thy loving kindness i pray that you blot out my transgressions and wash me thoroughly from my iniquity cleanse me lord from my sins and help me to acknowledge my transgressions i know lord i am no longer a slave of sin because what you did on the cross for me i receive your grace o lord to always overcome temptation to commit sin your word says that i am more than an overcomer holy spirit take over my heart and lead me in the path of righteousness in jesus name psalms 32 verse 2 says that blessed is the man unto whom the lord imputeth not iniquity and in whose spirit there is no guile father do not impute my sins against me for out of my ignorance and weaknesses have i committed them strengthen me against temptation and help me to walk triumphantly over sin o lord i pray psalms 51 verses 10 to 12 over me which states create in me a clean heart o god and renew a right spirit within me cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy holy spirit from me restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit in jesus name father i thank you for being a forgiving god i ask that you may give me the strength to forgive myself and for me not to have spirit of guilt i believe you have forgiven me i receive the fact that you have forgiven me father i ask that you may fill me with your holy spirit for i know i can resist the temptations of the flesh through your spirit father you are the source of all holiness you are a holy god and your word has instructed me to be holy because you are a holy god i desire to live a holy life a life that is pleasing in your eyes a life that exalts you for you alone deserve to be exalted and worshiped and adored thank you for giving me your word and your holy spirit i yield to your holy spirit that i may obey the laws that are set in your word i surrender to your spirit father and ask that he operates in all aspects of my life that i may not fail you lord god almighty i surrender to the holy spirit so that i am able to do what your word says in galatians 5 16 to walk by the spirit so that i will not gratify the desires of the flesh lord i desire to live a life in the spirit to live a life whereby i am tender to your spirit let not my heart be hard like the pharaoh's heart and exodus but let my heart be tender towards you i love you lord god almighty with all my heart with everything that is in me but i cannot live a life according to your standards without you holy spirit work in me father in jesus name to do and act righteously is not in an immortal man only you lord can impart the strength for righteous living i therefore cling to you and plead for the forgiveness of my past sins i also ask for strength and grace to sin no more your word says in jeremiah 31 34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor and every man his brother saying know the lord for they shall all know me from the least of them unto the greatest of them saith the lord for i will forgive their iniquity and i will remember their sin no more these are your words lord god almighty i humbly ask for the fulfillment of this scripture in my life as you have also promised in isaiah 1 verse 18 that you will wash me and make me clean as white as snow thank you gracious redeemer for your great mercy towards me i declare an everlasting love for you in jesus name i pray amen [Music]
