(chill music) Today's review is the Power AirFryer Oven. The total price was $159.99
20% coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond. Took $32 off so I paid $138.55
for the Power AirFryer Oven. It's gonna take me a bit
to get this one tested out thoroughly.
Probably gonna be a two-parter. So, I probably do one part
as a first look. Second part, I'll do some
more fine-tuning, some additional tests, mainly based on reader comments. So when I get home, crack this open,
and get started. I'm enjoying this beautiful
late October day here in Las Vegas, and I just
wrapped up the filming for my Power AirFryer Oven review. It's gonna be a long video.
And, I know some people don't mind long videos,
but I still give you a menu in the description so you can
skip around if you don't want to watch everything. But, now it's time to get started
with my first look review of the Power AirFryer Oven. Check it out. All right. On top, we've got
looks like some recipe guides and instructions. Look at this big boy. So, now I got properly
unboxed here are the entire contents. It's like quite a bit of stuff. Do my best to get through
as much as I can, so we're gonna get started. Right now, I'm headed
to the grocery store. I already decided my first two recipes
are going to be fried chicken and the Italian croutons which is in the recipe guide.
I figure I'll start there, and then I'll see what
I feel like making next. I also want to try
the rotisserie, so I'll probably pick up some sausage and do that, because that's
shown in the commercial. So, it's gonna be a long process.
It might take me a couple of days to get through all this. I'll do my best to squeeze in
as much as I can on this first part review
of the AirFryer Oven. Most air fryers I've seen
have a basket where you put the contents in there,
you slide it in, and it heats that way. The Power AirFryer Oven
is a little bit different, and then it has racks
and a rotisserie. So, the way the food is in contact
with the actual appliance is a little bit different. It actually functions more like an oven than the other air fryers that I've seen. First up is the Italian croutons recipe. Calls for a loaf of Italian bread
cut into half-inch cubes. Salt, pepper, oregano, and bread
cut to squares. Oops. Uh oh. Maybe I'll just eat that one. Now, I spread the cubes
on the airflow racks. Okay. I got two racks full
of these cubes. Now, let's stick it in there, start it up. You're gonna line up with these slots here for your racks,
and up there is where all the heat comes from. Okay, we've got two of them in there. Now, it says temperature to 350. Timer for eight minutes. And, here we go. It seems pretty easy so far.
I'll come back in eight minutes, and then we'll see how it looks. It's like it's got about two minutes left. You could actually turn a light
on there if you want. It's kind of nice. There is a sound to it. It's not too loud. But, you can hear that. It says 'Off' and sounds like it's still going.
There it goes. Oh, they're crisp. Oh, these feel like croutons to me. I think the first test was a success. Let's pull the second one out. And, down here is the drip pan
where crumbs and oils will drip down there.
You can just clean that up. But, yeah. These, these look good. First test looking good. Next up, some fried chicken. (munching sound) Crunchy, tasty, good actually.
Better than average. The Power AirFryer Oven
is off to a good start. Another one. All right. I've got my chicken
soaking on the buttermilk, and next up is my fried chicken recipe. Instead of doing the mix from scratch,
I'm just gonna use this Seasoned Flour that Chris
Cooking channel recommended to me in the previous review.
It's a little bit faster for me. All right. So, I've got
a couple racks sitting out here. I'm gonna soak it in the mix,
put it on the racks, and stick it in there. (techno music) All right. We got my three trays
of chicken. Hopefully they're not too thick.
I was wondering if that might be, the thickness might be a problem. All right. First rack on the bottom. Oh. The last rack. Okay. It all fit. Woohoo! I can wash that off. I'm surprised it all fit,
and that's awesome. All right. Now, it says to press the chicken button. That looks like chicken to me. And, then the power button. 40 minutes? This is after 10 minutes to rotate the racks. Okay. It's been 10 minutes.
I'm going to rotate the racks. See it turns off when you open it up. Ouch! That was hot. See what happen as we closes it. Starts up again. Now, it doesn't say
to rotate it another time but I'm assuming you rotate it
every 10 minutes. Maybe not. So, while the fried chicken
is still going, I was going to plan on a few things
on here. You have the, the front panel here.
You have french fries, steaks, fish, shrimp, chicken which I'm doing right now, baking, rotisserie, and dehydrator. You can adjust the temperature
over here and adjust the time right there.
It's actually very simple to use. There's also a light right there. One thing I was thinking about
also is say you've got something in the oven already
or it's a hot day, you don't want to run your oven, this would be a good second option
to be cooking food while the oven is taken.
So, I think that's pretty good. Also, they do give you a pretty
good selection of manuals here. They have a recipe guide here. They have a separate one
for dehydrating. And, they've got a third one
for rotisserie, so they're really pretty complete as far as that goes.
I'm pretty happy with the materials included. My first test, the croutons, did well. Fried chicken is in, the chicken is in the oven. I was getting the rotisserie
prepared for my next dish, and I saw all these skewers here, but I was looking for that.
I was like, where is it, where is it? Aha. Got to be careful.
Don't throw that away until you check the back. So, I was rotating these
and watch what happens. See, I put the bottom two up there, I went to put this one below
but these drumsticks are too tall, and I can't get it
in the slot, so I'm gonna have to put it back
on the top. The other thing I noticed
is when I put my hand down to put the bottom tray,
that's hot. I actually almost burnt my hands, so you have
to be careful. And, hopefully that's not too hard
to clean up. Hopefully. Okay. It's been 40 minutes. I'm gonna take all three racks out. Let's see how they look. Oh no! Oh no! Okay. There's a big difference
between this top rack and this one. The problem is it,
when I reach to get this rack, I'll burn my hands in the glass
'cause it's hot. Sorry chicken. I'll get you in a minute. Okay. So, here's what we got.
This one was moved to the top rack after 10 minutes. And, these two don't look as done. You'll see some of this mix
hasn't completely soaked in. I think I need to spray that. Okay. These, these are, these are done. These don't look crispy enough. I mean that's technically done. I'm gonna put these in
but a little bit longer, see if they can crisp up,
and these I guess we're done. I'm gonna spray this also
with some olive oil to get that mixed so that's
it's not in that powdery form. I'm winging it here guys.
This wasn't any instructions. But, looks like the top rack
definitely cooks faster than the other two. Oh, that's gonna be fun. I'm just gonna, I'm gonna put
like five minutes. We'll see. These are supposedly done.
I don't like that mix being like that, but what are you supposed to do, right? Infamouse taste test. (munching sound) Oh hot! I had to throw the chicken
on the window stone because it burned my hand. (munching sound) I say I take them on good. Well, you know it's
not as crispy as these. It shows that they're done. They're just not as crispy as those,
and I'm gonna have to clean that up. That looks fun. Well, I mean it says done. It's not- The two lower ones
aren't as crispy as that top one which came out really nice. I could put them in there
to try to crisp them up, but then they're gonna get overdone. I guess I might need to rotate
them more often than that next time. And, now this does not look fun. All right. Now, for the fun part.
I gotta clean these off. I'm gonna soak this in some soapy water. Does that look fun to you?
It doesn't look fun to me. So, I'm gonna let it soak
for a little while. Maybe it'll be easy to clean this off. Some warm water. All right. And, then the other thing
that we should worry about besides the counter which is not
part of the product, I got to clean that out. This is not my favorite part
of this product. It's funny I don't see Eric Theiss
clean his on informercial, do I? But, I guess that's all right.
Chicken came out pretty good. I like the first, the top level stuff better. But, all of it came cooked
to the proper temperature. Okay. I guess it's ready for the next one which I think next- What is that? There's a screw in there, and I can't get to it. Do you see that? That's a screw. I think. Okay. It's been soaking for a while.
Hopefully it softened up a bit. (brushing noise) Oh, here we go. This is, this is
the ticket right here. (brushing noise) Not the easiest thing to clean
in the world. Well, at least for this particular food. This might be a pretty extreme example. All right. So, you guys get the idea. I'm gonna turn the camera off
and finish. This is gonna take a little bit. All right. I don't need to go
to the gym today, because cleaning this
and those racks kind of wore me out. But anyways, we're moving
onto the rotisserie. This is how it is assembled. I'm not gonna do 15 sausages like
the recipe calls for, because I don't think 15 sausages are gonna get eaten here,
but I will do four. They say to stick a second skewer
through there to stabilize it which is what I'm trying to do right now. It's a little difficult to get
that lined up properly, but I did it. Kind of. I'm doing it. Okay. I think I got it. Okay, here we go. And, this side goes on the right. Just like that. Okay. Nothing's touching it.
It doesn't look like. I don't think. Maybe it is. Okay. I had to reposition
the sausages because one was touching the bottom, but now nothing is touching so I'm going to put on rotisserie. Let's see what happens. Press the rotisserie button. 20 minutes. Rotisserie. And, we're off. To light on, there we go. Oh, that's not good. Oh no. Oh no! Oh no! What happened? Just a false start here. This fell off. This is a clip you're supposed
to kind of squeeze together. All right. Let's try this again. Do it. Go, go, go, go! Make sure nothing hits. Yay! I think it looks pretty good.
Let's try it out. That's right. It's time for the
obligatory taste test. How does that look? (munching sound) The outside has
a nice Christmas- crispiness. And, the inside is well done
so that came out really nice. What do you guys think, huh? 20 minutes. Didn't have to stir it.
Just turn it on and walk away. I definitely think that was a success. I really want to try the rotating
mesh basket, and I also really want to try
some frozen french fries, so I figure I'll do them together.
So, that's next. I should point out for the rotisserie
and the basket, you have this tool which allows you
to put it in there more easily and not burn your hands
when you take it out. Now, the owner's manula
does have a nice chart here for a bunch of common foods,
and they have thick frozen french fries. It says 1 1/4-3 cups. 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees. I'm gonna use
the rotating basket so I don't have to flip them. I just got a small quantity
in there, so let's try it out. French fries. Didn't even have to do anything.
Automatically come on its own. And, now I'm going to hit
the rotisserie button as well. And, there they go. How's that? No need to flip. How cool is that? Very cool. It'll even be more cool
when they come out right, right? Let's see how they go. And, the fries are done. Let's take a look. Got my trusty tool. Okay. I'm gonna have to open
that up and give them a try. All right. I'm not sure
if they're completely done yet. I didn't set any time or temperature
'cause it's automatic. I mean it's hot, but needs more time. I think they need five more minutes. The french fry button and I'm gonna go time down to five. Boom. Okay. These ended up being 20 minutes. Let's see how it tastes. (munching sound) What do you know,
tastes like frozen oven french fries. They didn't really brown, but they are done. And, the texture is nice so- The nice thing about this
is you can just put them in there, hit the button, and walk away
and they're done. You don't have to worry
about flipping them, you don't have to worry
about turning the oven off. So, I do like the fact that
it has that feature. I like the basket
because then you don't have to worry about flipping. Otherwise, if you use the trays,
you would have to flip. The one thing I did not have
success with was sun-dried tomatoes. I follow the instructions
that said to cut plum tomatoes in half, put them skin side down
for 10 hours. After 10 hours, they were not done.
So, I don't know if I had too large of tomatoes or what went wrong. As of right now, I'm still going
at 16 hours. They're still not done yet. It'll probably something
I have to play around with it for my second video,
but here's how that went. So, I just turn these over
because it's been 12 hours. The instructions say 10, and they're, and they're still not done. So, I'm gonna put them like this,
even though it doesn't say to do that, because this side is pretty dry.
This side is still pretty moist, so I'm gonna put it back
in there for a few more hours and see if I can get these
into sun-dried tomato shape. The instruction just said
to cut them in half, stick them in there.
It doesn't say to get them or anything. Maybe these are too big.
Again, didn't say how large to make them. So, this is going to be kind
of a trial and error thing I think. I know that was a lot so let's recap. The croutons I think came out great. They only took eight minutes in there. If you figure how long
it would take the driver to the store, get croutons and come back,
you could cut them up and make them at home
in that amount of time. I've eaten them since I made them.
I really like them, so I'm gonna continue to make croutons in the Power AirFryer Oven. Next up, I did fried chicken.
I think that the top rack cooked a little bit faster and better than the lower racks did. When I went to rotate it,
the top rack legs were a little bit too thick,
so they didn't really come out as good as I hope. I think it came out pretty well, but that's something I'm pretty sure that with additional tries,
I can actually do a better job on. I have a feeling that with practice
of the fried chicken, it will actually be better
in future attempts. The sausage and peppers came out
without a hitch. They went exactly as planned
so I have no complaints about that. Frozen french fries took 20 minutes.
I like the fact that I can just kind of set it
and forget it. Don't worry about flipping.
Don't worry about the oven going off. So, the French fries I thought
in the rotisserie bas- mesh basket came out pretty well. And again, the sun-dried tomatoes, they took significantly longer
than I expected, but I do like the fact that
there is a dehydrator function in the Power AirFryer Oven. My initial impression
of the Power AirFryer Oven is positive. You get lots of recipes,
it can be used as an oven, a rotisserie
or a dehydrator which other air fryers can't do
all those things. A lot of food can actually
be cooked with a single touch, because the presets
are pretty accurate already. The only real complaint I have
is that when you pull the bottom rack out,
you have a tendency to hit your hand on the oven door
when it's open which is hot, so you might want to lay
an oven mitt down below there or you could always use Hot Hands. This is just a first look review,
so I'll be back in a couple weeks and I'll try
more recipes, and I'll have a better idea
how to use it. I will have worked some of the recipes and have a better idea how they work. So, look for a part two
in the coming weeks. I did try to follow
the instructions as closely as possible, but there will be some trial and error
even though there are a lot of instructions how to do
certain recipes on here. Some may not go exactly as planned. So, let me know of the things
that maybe I could have done better for this review. Let me know if some of the things
you'd like for me to see in the next video. And, any questions you have,
I'll try to answer in my part two which I'll do
again in a couple weeks. Until next time. This is James White
