Port Aransas "Beach Camping"

i want to show y'all who i brought down here i brought my just like i like it [Music] so good you got what about five six [Music] life adventures we left dallas at around 12 midnight heading down highway 35 south on the six and a half hour journey to make it to port aransas early enough to get one of the free first come first serve camping spots right on the beach [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right everybody so we finally got our tent set up my intention was to show you all the setup process but we had some issues trying to set it up the wind was blowing and i didn't know that it rained here last night i guess and the sand was kind of soft so the tent stakes wouldn't stay down but we got it up we rigged it up hopefully it will last for the rest of the day but i want to show y'all who i brought down here i brought my nieces and nephews they're going to tell you their name with a smile my name is kishore you going to talk loud my name is keyshawn my name is faith my name is erica all right are y'all ready to have some fun yeah are y'all gonna jump in the in the ocean or do you need me to throw you in there i've already gone how about a job okay all right it is about 9 50 a.m and when we got here we had enough room to set up but now people are starting to come it's a beautiful day to be at the beach wanted to show you all my tense setup now i'm new to camping i've never bought a tent before i don't even think i've ever slept in a tent before um i picked up this tent from walmart uh if you look at the left section it's the room section the right section is like the you know for the for the with the net so you can kind of keep the bugs out or whatever but this left section had actually came with two of those tents so at night time when it's time for us to go to sleep we'll take this section down and we'll put the second tent like this one up there so essentially we'll have two rooms now i will say a friend of mine christian who uh knows a lot more about camping than i do told me to be careful um that i get a tent that's good quality now i don't really think this is the highest quality tent it will probably do for now but i'm looking at other people's tents and they seem to be more sturdy um with the wind so i'm gonna do a better job of tent research but for now we're gonna make this happen um in the room tent i did uh blow up an air master mattress i guess you can see that i have a second air mattress that i'm gonna blow up when i put the the second room tent up we blew it up with a 12 volts mattress inflator it worked pretty good i was kind of afraid when i first got it because i didn't know if the 12 volt would uh have enough air and power to push it but it aired up the whole air mattress in probably about probably about two or three minutes so here is the other room that i'm in right now as you can see it's supposed to be able to keep bugs out you can zip this part right here the problem is it's very wind you can even see the waves are being blown and so this tent is not the best tent for a winning day however we're gonna make best use of it now i'm about to go out here and get my feet wet i wish i didn't have to leave if i didn't have the kids i might stay another day of season i got to get them back but man it's so relaxing today all right so i also wanted to show you all that i like having everything powered up so i have this portable power station i believe it's a 60 watt power station i got it off of amazon this is my second time coming two quarter ranges and it works excellently also it is charging a power station now this is not a jackery this is a power station by avid power and it works awesome as well as you can see it has a usbc it has 12 volt uh hookups it has ac output not for anything that's real strong of course it's i believe it's about 280 watts it also has a car charger when i get through shooting this video i'ma charge you my gopro also it will be powering later on tonight i'm going to show you i have a movie plan where i'm going to be hooking up my laptop to a to a monitor that i brought i tested it out it did draw a lot a certain amount of power but it looks like it will last the duration of a movie uh hour and a half or so so we're gonna test that out on tonight all right everybody well it's lunchtime and i've just spent about 20 25 minutes trying to fire up this grill it is so windy out here um i kind of had to move the grill around and it looks like it's uh just having a hard time but we're going we're going to make it happen let me show you what my grill is looking like i don't know if you can see in there but the wind is going to have to put the top on it just to keep it going we're going to make it happen so what i am making today i am making some skewers i have uh red peppers behind this these mushrooms i have some red onions i have some orange peppers also to give it some sweetness i got some pineapples i'm gonna put on there as well as some marinated sirloin so we're gonna go ahead and get them on i got my skewers right here come on win work with me all right so here we go we basically now these are not cut the way i want to the ones that being cut normally i would get get them a little bit thicker to make more of a cube form but this is what i got so i'm gonna get about two of these i'm going to put them on the end of the skewer and i'm just going to alternate now i'm a meat eater so i'm going to do meat vegetable meat vegetable meat fruit so i can get a lot of meat on there all right so for that one i'm going to put it on the grill now this part of the grill right here is just where i'm sitting the skewers and then i'm gonna put it on the fire once i get all the skewers lined up all right so as you can see we finally with the help of my niece faith we finally got all the skewers hooked up it's looking delicious now we're going to take it over here to the grill and i'm going to set it on there and we're going to get these babies cooked oh man you got the hook up here yeah you got what about five six seven about almost 15 poles yeah last night was pretty good they were biting good but they were biting good last night but not today all right what's your dog's name all right all right y'all it is a beautiful day here in port aransas if you have not had the opportunity to get down to port aransas go ahead and come down here we're one of the first few people to be here today and as you can see when i turn the camera around it's not too crowded but it's a lot of people here just having a good time you have a lot of people that are camping out for the day and then you have people like us that are going to be staying overnight it's just an awesome day when i get a chance i'm gonna take a stroll down there so we can look at different people's setups and how they set their camps up but let me get over here and check these skewers because i think they're about to all right i think these skewers are ready let's go check them out let's check them out oh it's about to be on and popping so good so good all right y'all so the skewers taste awesome that's the good news i mean that meat is awesome but the bad news is it is windy and i can taste a little sand in them but we're going to try to work around that but uh they taste delicious all right it's been a really good day here at port aransas i'm going to check in with my nieces and nephew um they've been chilling they probably wore themselves out i went to the tent i took myself a nap and it was kind of hot at first but i figured out the ten had like four or five different vents and uh felt like i was sitting right in front of an ac but let me check out what they're doing what's up y'all what's y'all doing just chilling now yeah is all your energy going what's good i'm hungry see young people always hungry again anyway i'm cooking some hamburgers tonight so hopefully that'll keep them satisfied for about 30 minutes all right so now what i'm about to do i'm about to as i promised you earlier i'm about to take a stroll maybe for about a mile or so up um this little beach way so you can check out a lot of different uh camp sites and how people set their campsites up um also when i came here before um they had some showers but when i came it was march so everything was not opened up from the pandemic so now the showers are open they won't open when i came before that's a good thing because the last time i had to wash up and of course washing up is not the same as taking the shower now the showers are outdoor showers um but still it's better than having to wash up so let's check this out [Music] [Music] [Music] it [Music] [Music] all right as you know earlier today i cooked uh some skewers right after that i started some ribs but she'll be close to being done yeah they don't do the chocolate but i went and bought this an expert grill propane grill and lisa's nephew get hungry so i went ahead and start again all right so we had an awesome day today we got to experience a little bit of what porto ramses has to offer is still people out here as the sun is going down and the weather is cool people out here just relaxing you can hear kids playing birds chirping you can hear the waves and you can feel this cool wind we're all showered up we went down to the outdoor shower got showered up cleaned up and now i'm about to get them y'all bam all right i'm about to show them how to play uno hopefully you know young people be like sheep and everything hopefully people won't cheat faith is nowhere to be found she's probably over there looking up on google looking up some kind of way to win uno but it feels good after waiting on faith in this let's awesome um [Music] let's go [Music] girls out of church it is a beautiful saturday morning and i'm up here cooking all the rest of the food that we got i just took some bacon i'm getting these hot dogs done about to fire up the grill i'm gonna be cooking uh the rest of the corn the rest of that sirloin um whatever else we got in there chicken we'll see how it looks when i get done all right looks like we're ready to go [Music] a little burnt just like i like it oh that's a lot of burnt [Music] time to get these veggies on the grill baby all right grilled chicken with a glaze of barbecue done man it's looking good and i tasted it's tasting good let's go well our time at porto aransas beach has been well spent we definitely accomplished our main goal which was to relax and do absolutely nothing so now let me wake up my nieces and nephew of course their sleep so we can break down camp pack up and head out but before we go let me get one more quick stroll down the beach [Music] is port aransas it's been real now it's time to get on the road and head back to dallas [Music] oh i almost forgot there's one more important stop we need to make buggies all right if you are a traveler and you are passing through texas if you have not had a chance you have to stop at bucky's gas station now everybody that's already been to buckets you all know what i'm talking about if you have not you got to stop at bucky's i'm gonna take a stop this is exit 191 coming from san antonio about 45 miles from austin we're going to stop at bucky's so we're going to gas up and go inside this buckey's located in new braun fields texas holds the world record for largest gas station at around 68 000 square feet it has 1 000 parking spots 120 gas pumps 84 toilets and 80 soda dispensers bucky's owner arch beaver applin likes to stock his stores with odd items like beaver nuggets as well as varieties of fudge jerky popcorn trail mix dried fruit barbecue candy and pretty much any other snack you can think of ooh i had to get up out of there everything was looking so good no good and well i didn't need to spend no more money on food but i got some good stuff all right so just got out of buckies of course i got strawberry lemonade chopped brisket sandwich they have chopped pork that's sausage sandwich they had all kind of sandwiches and then i just thought i'd try cheese puffs but they're not regular cheese puffs there white cheddar habanero i asked them did they want to get something they didn't so that means they're gonna be trying to eat some of my food all right so let's see this brisket this chopped brisket sandwich oh man let's see y'all can tell y'all could tell by the reaction of my face hmm this is so good it'll make you slap your mama but i like my mama sango slapper but it's good all right so i thought we were about to leave i thought we were about to leave my screen looks foggy but they tasted my sandwich so now they want to go back in and get their own sandwich even though i asked them before we left if they wanted something that's how they do let me see how long it takes them to get that sandwich young people they like to do everything slow we're waiting on the teenager [Music] all right everybody got their all bookies okay chef what you got hold up to the camera so i can see all right so i got the chopped brisket sandwich like my uncle brian a true bucky's what's on it it's um i think it said it
