Also in Oakland tonight , a man led police on a chase that ended inside a supermarket and officers say it all began after the suspect fired a gun at cars on city streets. Mike Dozens of police officers swarmed a supermarket in the Fruitvale neighborhood as they hunted for an armed suspect that caused quite a scare among the people inside the store. The Food Max in the Fruitvale station Strip mall in Oakland was the scene of an evacuation as police search for a suspect. Officers described him as armed and dangerous. Just scared period. You know, when people have guns and stuff like that, you never know what happened when people run inside stores. It doesn't you never know what happened at all supermarket employees Tell me the story was filled with customers around 5 30 PM when police told them to evacuate screaming, Everybody out everybody out! I come out to make, you know just to check. I was like, what's going on? He was like I need everybody to evacuate. Evacuate. Evacuate. He told everybody to come out run this way. Police say it started when the suspect shot at vehicles on the 1200 block of 90th Avenue, leaving bullet holes and shattering Windows. Bullet also struck a home. Fortunately no one was injured. Police say the gunfire activated a shot spotter and nearby police unit responded and spotted a white Infiniti sedan. Tried but failed to get the driver to stop . After that, the driver rammed the sedan into a second police vehicle. Police used a chopper to track the suspect who drove to the food Max and ran inside of workers said Police asked her for information. They came to ask me if I've seen anybody Mexican guy was short after workers and shoppers evacuated. Police used a robot and a drone inside the store to search for the suspect. Almost two hours later, they located and arrested him. I just see a lot of people scared. There's a lot of kids crying. I see a lot of It's pretty crazy out here. Fear turned into relief that no one was injured, including the officer whose vehicle was struck by the suspect. Please tell me the gun.
