Pokemon's Disturbing Analog Horror (ft. Midnight Krick)

analog horror we've covered Splatoon The Legend of Zelda Mario and Kirby on the channel already as much as these games are worth revisiting something stands out from the crowd and that's [Music] Pokémon Pokémon fans have always had a taste for horror ever since the first game and that's for a good reason things can be mysterious and even scary it's been toned down as time's gone on but these themes are still present naturally these Horrors and Mysteries have been shaped by fans into countless creepy pasts and now analog horror strangely enough even an official Pokémon YouTube channel has joined in on this and that's what we'll be looking at we have two videos from the official Pokémon Go YouTube channel out of all things confidential report Ultra Beast sightings and final report Ultra beasts these are found footage styled videos that capture the otherworldly horror of ultra beasts after that I'll be highlighting some bonus videos I came across that are worth checking out as well I'll also be joined by midnight cck also known as Crick and with that being said let's get started with Pokémon's disturbing analog [Music] horror Ultra beasts are what i' considered to be Pokémon's most interesting inclusions first introduced in Pokémon sun and moon more introduced in Ultra sun and Ultra Moon and then brought back as raid battles in Pokémon sword and shield they're Pokémon that come from a place called Ultra space and can be found in alola's Ultra wormholes these aren't just your regular Pokémon they're extra-dimensional beasts and they definitely look like it standing out from everything you can find in alola and the world of Pokémon Pokémon Diamond pearl and platinum introduced one of the first extradimensional Pokémon archus in the Pokedex archus is known as the alpha Pokémon and according to the book the original story located in canala library of Co Bears the title of the original one such a title was given to archus due to the fact that it was thought to have created the very Universe of Pokémon itself it is speculated that the physical form archus presents itself with is merely a tiny fraction of its full being as a God archus is whole is unknowable one thing known of archus is its close relation to the Pokemon of myth the trio consisting of Pia Doga and gutina are representations of space time and antimatter respectively it's easy enough to grasp the nature of these Pokémon despite how otherworldly they may appear that however cannot be stated for the ultra beasts according to director shagaru omori the ultra beasts are intended to express the concept of invasive species it's not hard to tell that there were definitely other Inspirations though Ultra beasts are akin to aliens for the world of Pokémon and nothing quite expresses their terrifying alien nature better than the confidential report Ultra Beast sightings video the ultra Beast appear out of nowhere intentionally or not this video perfectly captures how extradimensional beings would act if they were seen interacting with us with our societies our world that fear of the unknown is here too with every sighting incident we have a report but most of the information is redacted something akin to what you typically see in an analog horror video or something SCP related it widens the mystery the information we do get however is fairly easy to understand you have the ultra BEAST's typical code name the date and placement the incident occurred and the date at the bottom 827 what could that be as we see more videos the report text stays the same for the most part except for when ferosa is caught on a CCTV camera and when a swarm of naligo appear the vcts out on how to pronounce that Pokémon's name but anyway reports being changed to records for phosa video can be explained by the footage being a recording taken from a CCTV camera's records the report States nothing other than Ultra Beast attack a grim reminder of the invasive nature extradimensional beings can show just take a look at something like buz wall what does your average person do in a situation like this it's thought that the poses it makes is some sort of communication but even then it still looks like it goes in for an attack what about the video with zerat tree it clings to a building while zapping it before reaching out to the person recording so what happened to the people who were attacked while recording we don't know after all the footage Cuts before we see what happens to them the human mind has a wonderful yet torturous ability to try and piece things together with the information it's been given or lack of so when we don't have the full picture on something the Mind goes wild with conclusions someone's going to die impalement absorption blunt force trauma dismemberment electrocution the seizing of muscles and limbs these are what come to mind when we see the cut in the buzzwell and zurry footage and whoever were recording these would be helpless to it all at last we reach final file Ultra beasts here we are presented with a footage shown prior Nigo famosa buzwell and zurry but it doesn't end there no this is the full report cosmog celesa Cartana goodlord salio lunala poiple and its Evolution nagan stakataka llon and finally necrozma all make an appearance it's worth noting that cosmog lunal so Galo and necrozma aren't necessarily Ultra beasts although they certainly are strongly related to them they'll come up later though for now let's have sunflower take a closer look at the invasive nature of the ultra beasts they look to be causing even more Havoc than in the previous video due to the destruction they're causing and the crowds they're attracting and again we have people being put in danger I've said it before and I'll say it again helplessness what can anyone do in this situation other than watch or run as their inevitable death draws near imagine the fear of seeing kartana or stakataka swiftly approaching you they'd cut you up or squish you like you were nothing what do you think happened to the people in this building it looks like part of an office or apartment building so there had to have been people in there right death has always played a role in Pokémon environments stories themes and even Pokémon have been inspired by death since the beginning of the series so something like this which is similar to tentac cr's Rampage in the 19th episode of the Pokémon anime had to have injured or killed people right even though it's not shown the thought still lingers the assumption is still made despite all of this chaos it does seem like Sol gallo and lunala are somewhat protecting the people who were unlucky enough to be in an ultra Beast vicinity but cosmog and his trainer don't really do much other than startle the person recording them all of this brings the intelligence of the beasts into question something like say guzzlord tries to primitively eat anything it can get its hands on thanks to its Limitless appetite but what about Poole and naganadel Poole shoots poison from its stinger at a CCTV camera so what does that tell us that these Ultra beasts recognize what a camera is and what it does that the camera looked like a creature and it was attacked or was it just completely random what of basilon I wouldn't blame you if you didn't recognize them here this fight work like explosion you're seeing isn't some sort of beautiful and friendly display the ultra beasts are making lilon does this to surprise the victim afterwards it robs them of their Vitality so what you're seeing here is an attack on the people in these buildings it's clear that the hostility of each Ultra Beast varies since Celestia seems pretty docile despite looking to be smoking up Sydney Australia and as stated already the Pokémon Sol Galo and lunala seem to be protecting the people who've come across Ultra beasts but what can we make of the text in this video as per usual each video gives us a description of the ultra beasts when and where the sightings took place until it doesn't Ultra Beast not the end is unveiled before showing us pole naganadel stakataka and basilon Ultra beasts that were introduced in Ultra sun and Ultra Moon hence why it's not the end what's interesting is that when and where they scene is redacted but I guess that explains the call to action at the end you want to know more about what's going on jump onto Pokémon go and find out right at the end is also where we see necrozma which hasn't properly made its way to the game yet for some reason what's also interesting is that some Ultra beasts are only available in certain regions just like how the report shows them appearing in certain parts of the world so where does that leave us we saw the date 827 in the first Ultra Beast video and that was the date of the bonus Pokémon go Fest finale of 2022 and of course Ultra Beast were there making these videos a marketing campaign was it effective it seems like it was you can find the videos individually on the Pokémon Go YouTube channel if you want to see a bit more of what happens and find out a little bit more as well the compilation videos are there too and everything mentioned is in a confidential Ultra Beast sightings playlist which will be linked in the description under all of that however we have two found footage analog horror esque videos that demonstrate the unpredictability of creatures beyond our understanding and power these videos give us a look into the horrors of Pokémon or perhaps something worse remember Ultra beasts are just as alien to the Pokémon world as they are alien to us surely the people of the Pokémon world must differ from us on some biological level I can't imagine Humanity surviving in such a dangerous world without having evolved to adapt but this isn't their world this is our world we didn't develop as a species while in the presence of Pokémon we wouldn't have the means to protect ourselves if the world of Pokémon struggles against the ultra beasts what the hell do we do about them while the games May tend to forgo the darker aspects you can frequently find Pokedex entries that paint a clearer picture Pokémon are dangerous creatures even dosel Pokémon are more capable of causing destruction than any weapon we could have made ourselves in the world of Pokémon you're surrounded by death ghost Pokémon forms from Death are an unsettlingly common sight even in a world where humans Thrive off of coexistence with these creatures they continue to remain helpless and small nothing says that more than the extradimensional ultra beasts we've seen here too each Beast comes from an ultra Dimension and they vary so much in detail each place is a world full of powerful beings that might hop in and out of their own dimension in a world full of dangerous creatures a solar system galaxy universe full of unknown yet an endless amount of threats that could crash land into the planet or Clash From Another Dimension it's a bleak reminder that everything we've built up everything we want to achieve can be taken away from us in a heartbeat we're so small in this melting part of possibilities and Pokémon Go's Ultra Beast reveal videos are our reminders veiled underneath the all for ages Pokémon brand but now you've made it to the bonus section of the video Pokémon has a lot of smaller fan-made analog horror videos made by creators that have dabbled in the scene we have the Big Mike Channel and his pokem Mania series that builds upon common themes found in old Pokémon Creepy pasts some scenes in a few videos drag on for a bit too long but for the most part it's a solid viewing experience it doesn't push any boundaries but what you expect is there and there's a story here about Pokemon Maniacs hence the name pokemania I like the spin on the term pokemania was used to describe the craze and popularity around Pokémon when it was introduced to the West in 1998 so when you take that and add a horror twist to it I think it works following this we have a video by Lord Luigi 45545 called misfortune.gb GB is short for Game Boy and he's taken the misfortune.gb creepy pastor and created his own story with the source adding analog horror visuals and storytelling elements to it I really enjoyed the Twist on the story and I think you'll like it too things from Woods 98. mov Pokémon analog Horror by Evolution trainer Isaiah differs from the other videos I've highlighted instead going down the found footage Road similar to the Pokémon go Ultra Beast videos which is neat there's some handdrawn stuff in there too and some music for the [Laughter] soul speaking of music music for the [Applause] soul oh [ __ ] uh they're calling me I uh
