contestants thank you very much all of you very warm welcome to the show we'd love to have you here that just leaves one more person for me to introduce he's here to get right up in our contestants business like a big old trivia wedgie it's my pointless friend it's richard oh yeah hello everybody hello there hello done very well excellent yeah excellent uh now welcome back to we've got one new pair mark and linda welcome lovely to have you here uh and a couple of people on their third show the first two podiums are on their their final chance vicki and nicola round one on a round two be lovely to see you uh head to head off further beyond and margin and mass who were that uh head to headway last time which went on for about two questions a week and a half yeah went on for a long time didn't it um but uh last chance for those two podiums very good oh and also we've managed not to give the jackpot away i mean it's a change recently yeah and we've given away so much i know yeah we've had a day without giving it away yeah a rarity what a rare start with a two for a change i know seven m's got through to the final they were lovely and they did brilliantly but i'm afraid they didn't find a pointless answer so we're adding another 1 000 pounds to that jackpot and it starts today at 2 250 pounds right if everyone's ready that's very pointless [Music] [Applause] now remember the pair of the highest score at the end of each round gets eliminated so just keep your scores lovely and low and everything will be lovely best of luck to everybody our first category this afternoon is famous people can you all decide in your pairs who's going to go first who's going to go second and whoever's going first please step up to the podium okay and the question concerns famous fords richard yes seven people on each board whose surname ends ford so uh seven on the first board seven on the second board two boards of forwards fourteen forwards to find at home nice thank you very much indeed got through that it did beautifully done okay so we're looking for these fords and here's our first board of seven board fords comedian who is runner-up in the 2020 series of the masked singer performing as hedgehog jm hollywood star whose roles included blanche hudson in this 1962 film whatever happened to baby jane j c british athlete who won gold in the men's long jump at the 2012 olympics gr creator of the wombles who was awarded the mbe for services to children's literature in 1998 eb some mothers do adam starr who was one of the original west end cast of the musical the and the mechanics m-r there we are nicola welcome back this is your third attempt at that pointless jackpot round um tell us more about yourself nicholas um i'm from newcastle and i like to in my spare time to go away with friends on weekends and doing random things usually very nice and the north east so many lovely things to explore there yeah um where do you like to go i mean we go to the lake district quite a lot i have gone for it i climbed mount snowdon once wow um yeah i heard it i really was awesome is that the only time the one and only time you've climbed a beautiful scene beautiful amazing experience to get to the top but cried at the bottom and saw never to do it again so fair enough uh nicole what are you going to go for on our board which of our fords i think i'm going to go for hollywood star who's yours included blanche hudson and john crawford joan crawford says nicola let's see how many of our 100 said joan crawford joan crawford absolutely right bad either twenty what a great start to the show well done twenty for jones well done there was the 2017 tv uh drama feud covered her uh her sort of feud with betty davis in uh it was extraordinary yeah and whether all of it was true i don't know but uh i suspect a lot of it was thank you very much indeed richard now then mazz welcome back to pointless again it's your third attempt um tell us more about yourself maz uh yeah i'm uh i'm in academia but um recently i was very ill one day and whilst i was in bed i had nothing else to do so i picked up chess and thus become my hobby basically david that's why i watched playing on a computer uh yeah online basically with random people how amazing and you play quite a lot now yeah maybe once or twice a day i bet maz is good at chess i bet he's good no really bad actually if you're if you're a computing chemist yeah that feels like the perfect uh skills for a chess player how long ago did you start uh maybe about six months ago actually i would have listened to early days yeah i know you're going to be great now maz what are you going to go for um i'm trying to think who i know probably go for the top one it's a complete guess james manford james manford okay james manford says maz let's see how many by 100 said that is it right no bad luck man sorry that scores you 100 points sorry maz i'll give the correct answer at the end of the past thanks very much indeed now tom welcome back great to have you with us again study in glasgow i am from manchester yes tell us more about yourself yeah so uh studying in glasgow but at the same time i've got a job as well in a bakery oh really yeah part-time job in a bakery sausage rolls you might know oh i know sausage rolls yeah i know they're making curry very well i know the bakery i know the bakery my nan used to work in a bakery it's just amazing did she bring stuff back to on solstice was it all the stuff that people hadn't bought or did she put some nice things together and everything was good everything everything bakery is good um but you're in charge of the sausage rolls particularly of course yeah if you're feeling really hungry are you allowed just to take a sausage roll um you might get me into trouble if i say well there we go right okay tom yeah what are you gonna go for don't know many to be honest but i think i'm gonna go the top one as well and say jason manford jason manford okay let's see how many of our 100 people said jason manford it is indeed jason manford well the high score's 100 you passed that immediately 20 is the low score and there you are on 25. not bad tom yeah sorry matt jason memford then another proud mancunian he started his career well he was essentially collecting classes in the comedy club and one of the comics didn't turn up one night so jason went up on stage it just busked it and busted it yeah that's amazing yeah amazing excellent well now uh linda welcome to pointless how lovely to have you here tell us all about yourself um my name is linda i'm a learn and support assistant at a secondary school in east london um in my spare time i love the theater musicals oh i'd go every day if i could how often do you go oh oh twice a month probably that's pretty good i know i am a real addict to the music do you go to the same musical again or do you try and take in lots of new ones i have done one of my favorites is blood brothers i've probably seen it six or seven times yeah yeah my sister i think also saw that six or seven times um that was great now linda what about this board it's uh it's all yours do you want to talk us through it and fill in the box confident on a couple of them i think the athlete is greg rutherford the wombles i think it's beresford i'm not sure the first name and the some mothers do have them michael crawford i don't know who the explorer is and i think the guitarist for genesis was mike rutherford but i i think i'm gonna go for mike rutherford mike rutherford mike in the mechanics let's see how many of our 100 said mike rutherford mike rutherford absolutely right uh well a hundreds are high scored 20s are low there you are in 24 not bad at all very well played linda yeah the best score of the ones uh the ones you knew there um greg rutherford no relation would have scored 38 uh you're absolutely right it is a bearish versus elizabeth elizabeth beresford uh was the answer there's a terrific answer 11 points if you've gone for that michael crawford he would have scored you 51 do you know this explorer ed stafford is the answer would have scored two points best answer on the board well done if you said that at home thank you very much well that brings us to the halfway point of the first round time to look at the scores i can tell you 20 is the best score of the past nichola very well done indeed uh then we travel up to 24 linda and mark then up to 25 tom and emma and then up to 100 i'm afraid for mass and margins so yeah margin see what you can do on the next board maybe we can uh we can atone for that good luck with that we're gonna come back down the line now will the second players please step up to the podium let's put seven more clues to famous forwards up on the board and here they come we've got singer who had uk hit singles in the 1980s entitled one day of flyaway and almaz rc new zealand-born scientist sometimes described as the father of nuclear physics who won the nobel prize for chemistry in 1908 er actor and director who starred with paul newman in butch cassidy in the sundance kid and the sting are our silent film actor she was one of the co-founders of united artists with charlie chaplin and douglas fairbanks mp manchester united footballer who led a high profile campaign for free school meals in 2020 mr scottish engineer whose works include the menai suspension bridge and the caledonian canal tt and american supermodel mother of the fashion model kaya gerber c c there we are mark welcome great to have you with us thank you uh tell us all about yourself mark uh i'm from yorkshire originally but live in london with linda uh i'm a journalist author and press officer very good are you freelance or you're a freelancer yeah yeah have you always been freelance yeah for quite a few years yeah see that's quite fun what's your specific area of uh opinion pieces you should get quite a lot of comments excellent now mark you are on 24 if you can score 75 or less there's a place for you in round two yeah this is uh quite a hard one so i'm going to go for a manchester united footballer who led the high profile campaign for free school meals which was marcus rashford marcus rashford says mark here is your red line let's see we can get you below this with marcus rashford it's right and you're through very well done indeed down to 44. the high scoring one that one takes your total up to 68. uh yeah marcus rashford uh had a bizarre sort of climb to the top he was a just accidentally got on the pitch in a europa league game when there were lots of injuries and all sorts of things and he's literally never looked back from that moment almost had a meteoric rise and seems to be a force for good in everything he does yeah thank you uh now emma yes ema welcome back tell us more about yourself here from derry yes i am from jerry i'm a medical student studying in glasgow but i actually went to the same school in derry that the tv show deregers is set in do you know any of the people in it i think there are a couple from derry on yes there's a few from dare i don't know any of them personally i know friends of friends and things like that yeah um but yeah i went to the school my sister goes to school my mom went to the school amazing yeah lovely now ema you're on 25. if you can score 74 or less you're through uh i think i know a few of them one would be a bit more of a rescue one and then one i definitely know um so i think i'll go for the one that i definitely know just to be safe which is the american supermodel which is sunday crawford cindy crawford says ema okay here is your red line let's see if we can get you below this cindy crawford he's right and you're through good answer 26 takes your headlock to 51. uh well paid email i love dairy girls do you mmm what a show now cindy crawford so you know when you were on who do you think you are and you were descended from william yeah uh she was on the american who do you think you are she was descended from the holy roman emperor charlemagne oh that'll do isn't it yeah 41 times great-granddaughter wow solomon charlemagne yeah good stuff yeah thank you very much indeed for that richard now margin welcome back great to have you with us uh remind us all about yourself hi uh i'm a management consultant and um one of my um rare hobbies is pole fitness which i've picked up quite recently so yeah which is something you have you have to put a poll up somewhere where it presumably it's it's got to be pretty solid uh no it can be free hanging at the end okay yeah yeah you can take it with you anywhere how do you make sure it doesn't fall over when you're uh it has a it has a mouse oh she's got a proper i see of course margin now listen this is your third and final attempt uh at pointless and you're on a hundred you are our high scorers at the moment if you could score 19 or less you're at least keeping one possibility open i'm not too sure of the top one and the second one from the bottom uh or the middle one so i think i'm gonna go for one that's that i know for sure um ernest rutherford okay ernest rutherford for the new zealand-born scientist let's see how many of our 100 people said ernest rutherford no red line for you as you're the high scorers is right it's not a bad answer margin down it goes to 19. that's exactly what we needed we've kept the story open it's a possibility yeah tiny little bit of pressure now on podium one yeah well played yes so even though he was the uh the father of nuclear physics rather fordium um which we often use in pointless in the chemistry rounds people think it was named after ernest rutherford it wasn't it's actually named after mike rutherford from michael the mechanics ah of course yes yes scientists love that yeah yeah yeah love a bit of genesis and their mechanics yeah there's phil collins iam as well and peter gabriellium okay brilliant yeah yeah amazing thank you very much indeed richard uh now then vicky yeah welcome back um tell us more about yourself well as nicholas said she kind snowed in and hated it and a few years ago i did the great northbound and hated that oh that's nice we do things where he how far were you through the great north run before you decided you hated it i think when i got to a big um billboard that had a miley cyrus quote on and i cried that was what i knew i'm crying at the cyrus i mustn't do this again and you never have it's very important to discover these things though uh good for you vicky now listen what we need from you essentially is a correct answer i suppose 98 or less keeps you in the game you want to talk us through this board uh i'd like to i don't know the top one i don't know the second from the bottom and i think the silent film actor is mary pickford but just to be sure i'll go for the actor and director who starred as paul newman as robert redford robert redford it says vicki let's see how many of our 100 people said robert redford here's your red line lovely and high and robert redford unsurprisingly gets you below that red line and through to round 2 47 is what it scores 67 your total uh well played better safe than sorry but you're quite right about mary pickford and she was the best answer on the board as well she would have scored 12 points um the top one the singer randy crawford andy crawford sort of scored you 25 we talked about this gentleman a lot because we both did him at um a level thomas telford yeah he would have scored you uh 22 points so mary picked for best answer on the board well done if you said that there we are thank you very much indeed richard that brings us to the end of our first round it means we have to send a pair home i'm sorry margin and mass this is the final farewell thank you so much for coming to play i'm sorry we're not sending you back with a trophy each but there we are it's been great having you thank you margin and maz right for the remaining three pairs now time for round two [Music] [Applause] [Music] there we are down to three pairs very well done everybody um our category for round two this afternoon is u.s geography can you all decide in your pairs who's going to go first who's going to go second and whoever's going first please step up to the podium okay let's find out what the question is here it comes we gave 100 people 100 seconds to name as many u.s states or u.s state capitals that begin with a consonant as they could yep certainly any other 50 u.s states or any of their capitals that begin with a constant and pleases is obviously sort of a two-track round really there's an easy way of doing it a harder way of doing i will point out if you want to take a risk there are 32 pointless answers here splendid so a real chance to add some money to the jackpot if you know your your u.s uh geography there we are thank you very much indeed so nicola i'm gonna go with massachusetts massachusetts says nicola let's see how many of our 100 people said massachusetts massachusetts is right oh and down it goes to seven not bad great start for round yeah the official state marine mammal of massachusetts is the right whale oh yes you're on the wrong one yeah quite right thank you uh now tom yes i'm gonna go for a state capital i'm gonna go for pierre pierre says tom let's see how many of our 100 people said pierre pierre is right and that is a pointless answer tom very very well done indeed that adds 250 pounds to the day's jackpot taking the total up to 2500 pounds which scores you nothing very well done indeed very well done it's the capital of a particular state that uh i can't mention uh pointless answer one of those 32 pointless answers knocked off the board yeah they actually pronounced it because you know what americans are like with french words yeah pierre nice good now mark u.s state capitals or u.s states i'm going to go for u.s state um so i'll say rhode island rhode island says mark let's see how many of our 100 people said rhode island it's right that goes down to five not bad at all mark five for rhode island yeah the official state fruit of rhode island is the uh the rhode island greening apple greening apple they just just uh bang the message home they call it the rhode island greening apple yes exactly good listen if you're going to have a steak fruit you have one named after the city you know we should we should have a show through fruit yeah that's a good idea the sussex greening apple maybe the sussex green gauge nice the sussex plum yeah which is my house also my darts nickname thank you very much indeed uh okay well before we head back down the line i think this would be a perfect opportunity to look at those scores nothing tom nothing you hear that the best score of the past tom and emma looking great then five is where we find mark and linda seven is where we find nicola and vicky you're ahead but not terribly ahead vicky best of luck with that we're gonna come back down the line now will the second players please step up to the podium linda there we are u.s states or state capitals beginning with a consonant what are you thinking um i think i'll go for kentucky kentucky says linda uh you do get a red line and it looks like this there it is let's see if we can get you below that with kentucky kentucky's right down it goes to eight not bad takes your total up to 13. now their official state fruit is is much less glamorous the blackberry i'd say less glamorous but you know yeah it's just it's the sort of thing that you could have in sussex you could oh yeah and you do yeah right as yeah oh they're everywhere since kentucky fried chicken re-named themselves kfc yeah kentucky had to rename itself k they're absolutely furious curious the inhabitants but you know they got colonel sanders gave him money yeah so it's called k and they've each been given access to the secret recipe which is amazing of herbs and spices now kfc on twitter um their follower list is six people called herb and the spice girls nice it's good isn't it nice yeah it is good the only thing funnier than that was when the uh the account for cats the movie only followed one thing and it was um laser pointers [Laughter] thank you very much indeed now ema yes ema look at that you're on nothing which means if you can score 12 or less you're through yeah um i think i'm also going to go for a state capital and i'm going to say bismarck bismarck tezima well done you that sounds like a brilliant answer let's find out how brilliant it is here is your red line can we get you below that with bismarck well bismarck is great let's see i think we can get you below that red line can we get you right to the bottom yes we can very well done indeed another pointless answer which adds another 250 pounds to today's jackpot taking the total up to 2750 pounds scoring you nothing needing your total at nothing very strong very well done podium two nicely done yeah it's a state capital of a state right next to the uh state that pierre is the uh capital of nice it's named after otto von bismarck because they were trying to get german investment into the state and it's the railways in the state so he called it fair enough yeah why not i imagine it worked gotta call it something yeah yeah thank you very much indeed vicky you are on seven you have to score five or less right i'll go with um salt lake city salt lake city okay is that a shot in the dark or okay let's find out salt lake city here is your red line is that a capital state capital is it right it is right gets you through and it's a pointless answer very well done indeed vicky that adds another 250 pounds to today's jackpot taking the total up to three thousand it scores you nothing leaves your total at seven and gets you into the head to head so very very well done indeed oh that's beautifully done i'd said at the start there's not some pointless answers i mean three that's all that's all you can ask for very very well played yes the state capital of utah uh utah's um state vegetable the green bean oh it's the spanish sweet onion nah unlucky they've also got a state historic vegetable state historically the green bean oh sugar beet gar that's annoying ah um now all the pointless answers were state capitals i did the lowest scoring states uh louisiana minnesota and west virginia would have scored you four and you got three for virginia and maryland but let's take a look at some of these state capitals shall we baton rouge that's louisiana boise idaho des moines iowa jefferson city lincoln nebraska little rock arkansas you could have had nashville tennessee providence that's the state capital of rhode island uh springfield illinois um you could have had uh carson city charleston cheyenne columbia columbus concord dover frankfurt harrisburg uh hartford helena jackson lansing um montgomery montpelier you could said richmond st paul salem santa fe or topeka all of those are pointless answers very well done if you said any of those very good thank you very much indeed they're looking for quite a lot of german investments in some of those state games they really aren't there's a lot going on um that was very good okay well we are at the end of our second round which means we say goodbye to another pair linda and mark i'm afraid you are that bad but now we'll see you next time we'll look forward to that very much indeed meanwhile thank you so much for playing linda and mark but for the remaining two pairs it is now time for the head to head [Music] [Applause] [Music] congratulations emma and tom vicki and nicola you are now one step closer to the final and a chance to play for that jackpot which currently stands at 3 000 pounds well we've done quite a lot to boost that jackpot so far this game we could now do a little bit more uh by seeing if we can find a couple of pointless answers here goes we gave 100 people 100 seconds to name as many charles dickens characters as they could richard yep six names on the board there's always two of them will be pointless answers but two of them will be red herrings can you spot the difference so it's nicholas nicolby or triclos tricklebee nice that's great okay let's see if we can dig out the pointless answers here uh six potential charles dickens characters and here they come we've got daniel quilp elizabeth barrow grace jeddler clara peggotty prince turvydrop and rachel verrinder there we are nothing do you know i would never go with alex or the top one maybe but other than that it's a guess okay so emma and tom over to you i think we'll go for prince turvy drop drop prince turvy drop yeah let's see how many of our 100 people said that is prince turvey drop a pointless dickens character he's a real dickens character that's for sure and it goes down to pointers very well done indeed emma and tom that is one pointless answer found now vicky and nicholas can we see if we can find the other point in this answer i'm drawing a clara um it is a guess but we'll go with clara pekka clara peggotty clara peggety let's see how many of our 100 people said clara peggotty well it's right the question is though is this one gonna go all the way down down to one i'm afraid cara rachel varender is uh in great talent so she's from the moonstone by wilkie collins uh daniel quilp would have scored points from the old curiosity shop so these other two grace jedler and elizabeth barrow one of those is a a pointless answer one of them is incorrect i think uh i think elizabeth barrow is the pointless answer is the pointless answer i think okay i mean it rings a bell uh one of those uh people is a uh a character from a dickens novella yeah the other one is dickens mum i mean in the mum stakes you'd have thought elizabeth barrow sounds like a more that's a that's a more dickens mum name i think grace jeddler it's a bit racy what do you think at home do you agree disagree let's take a look is elizabeth barrow the false answer you think is i think i mean listen i've changed my mind now i i'm literally i've you've persuaded me you've turned me let's have a look is it barrow dickens is mum absolutely absolutely right well done and grace jettler was a character so grace jedler and prince turvy dropped were the pointless answers there i hadn't heard of prince toby job i would have thought heard about that sounds like a red herring to me yeah no i've heard of prince toby i haven't heard of grace jettler there we go what are you having there we are thank you very much indeed well what about that we managed to find a pointless answer which means we can add 250 pounds to the day's jackpot taking the total up to 3 250 pounds that's amazing but we'll be playing for it let's find out in the head to head [Music] well as ever the first petrol in two questions will be playing for that jackpot you're now allowed to confer before you give your answers best of luck to both pairs here's our first question and it's all about acts that were runners-up for the uk at eurovision richard yeah we've been runners up 15 times at eurovision in the uk we're going to show you five pictures now acts that came second can you tell us who they are please we'll show you the year they came second as well thank you very much indeed can you identify these eurovision acts and we've got a 1964 b 1968 c 1992 d 1998 and e 1993. there we are uk eurovision acts that were runners up ema and tom you're our low scoring couple so you get to go first um i think go for c if you you're sorry yeah we're not sure about most of them i think we know b and c possibly d maybe go with c think we'll go see i think it's michael ball c michael ball c michael ball now then vicky and nicola can you talk us through the rest of that board b is cliff richard b is sonia d i think something city limits i can't remember a i want to say it might be matt monroe but i don't know whether we should just go with anyone yeah we'll go with sonia so you're going to say e sonia so we have got c michael ball and e sonia emma and tom said michael ball for c let's see how many of our 100 got that michael ball yeah michael ball is right that's a high score 46 for michael ball meanwhile vicki and nicola have gone for sonia for e let's see how many of our 100 people said sonia sonia is right and pipsid look at that down goes sonia to 39 very well done indeed vicky and nicola after one question you're up one nil yeah two nice answers there one step at a time was michael ball's um song and better the devil you know sonia which was an island got beaten by neith cavanaugh uh in that into second place um a you are quite right is matt munroe very well done beaten by italy back in 1964 he would have scored you 20. we all know cliff came second with congratulations came third with uh power to all our friends as well um 81 for cliff still scoring very highly uh and d just lost to dhana international uh imani very well done if you've got that so nice low score at one point if you said imani thank you very much indeed richard now here comes your second question emma and tom you have to win this to stay in the game vicki and nicola you get to answer it first so best of luck our second question is all about mornings richard yeah simply five clues to facts about mornings in some way or another how nice um okay well let's reveal the five clues here they come the morning herald is a major australian newspaper based in this city poet who read her poem on the pulse of mourning at bill clinton's 1993 inauguration ceremony actor who received his first oscar nomination for his role in good morning vietnam author of the 1946 jeeves and worcester novel joy in the morning and the band who had a 1995 uk number one album with what's the story morning glory there we are now vicki and nicola will go first do you know where you've been yeah we've gotten right second button but also yeah go with that one yeah okay we'll go with that one yeah and we'll go for the author of the 1946 jeeves and worcester novel as pg woodhouse pg woodhouse say vicky and nicola now emma and tom do you want to talk us through that board we know we think we know too the band is oasis and the actor is we thank robin williams i mean we could guess the australian newspaper what would you say if you were guessing it brisbane melbourne yeah just go for it yeah um we'll say melbourne okay the melbourne morning herald okay so we've got pg woodhouse and melbourne vicky and nicholas say apg woodhouse for the chiefs and worcester author joy in the morning is indeed by pg woodhouse and that takes us down to 21. that's a good score meanwhile ina and tom are going for the melbourne morning herald is it melbourne let's find out no not melbourne i'm afraid which means well done vicky and nickler after only two questions you're straight through to the final two nil very nicely done um yeah not melbourne i'm afraid if you i mean you suggested brisbane if you said brisbane you still would have been knocked out uh not brisbane sydney sydney is the answer and actually still had been knocked out he would never said sydney because it scored 29 points so what i'm saying is it was impossible to get through with that question um but well done if you said it at home now the band uh you're absolutely right of course was oasis would have scored you too many points for the scored you 47. uh the actor absolutely robin williams would have scored 51 points lost out to michael douglas in that year for uh for wall street but eventually one best supporting actor for uh goodwill hunting hi robin williams now this is the best answer on the board they quite often have posted these things as an extraordinary one at um joe biden's um ceremony yeah um amanda gorman read that extraordinary poem at joe biden's uh ceremony um but this one was maya angelou maya angelou absolutely the best dancer on the board as well would have scored you four points thank you very much indeed well that means the pair leaving us at the end of the head-to-head round emer and tom you played a blinder today great to have you through to the head-to-head thank you so much emma and tom but for vicki and nicola it is now time for the point that's fine [Applause] huge congratulations vicki and nicola you've fought off all the competition and you have won our coveted pointless trophy [Music] you now have a chance to win our pointless jackpot and at the end of today's show the jackpot is standing at three thousand two hundred and fifty pounds well look your timing is immaculate your third show here you are just beautifully done head to head two nil and you are the underdogs in the head-to-head as well so you know it was that it was slightly against you what will just complete the set now will be if you can win this jack but what do you want to see come up something i can answer i'll take that buffy the vampire slayer well listen you never know four things will appear on the board let's see we've got rare breeds of poultry oh our old friend returns we love that i'll be so sad when one day that gets that gets one day it comes home to roost yeah um 2020 grand slam tennis film clubs jamaica what are we thinking well we're going to wait and see the next set of questions and we'll decide yes it would have to be film clubs okay film clubs uh very best of luck we're looking for anybody according to imdb credited with appearing in any of the following three films please so anyone uh who appeared in the cotton club anyone who appeared in the first white club or anyone who appeared in fight club so three good movies there looking for anyone credited with uh appearing in any of those three very best of luck thank you very much indeed now as always you've got up to a minute to come up with three answers all you need to win that jackpot is for just one of those answers to be pointless are you ready yeah we are let's put 60 seconds up on the clock there they are your time starts now where you love the clothes i mean you've got the obvious ones but i'm thinking of the men um i want to say harvey can't tell but i'm not convinced i don't think i've seen it we would would be bette midler um goldie horn mm-hmm did they have oh what's a woman with a glasses called what about fight club fight folks edward norton helena um first i've those five problems i just i don't pay attention to their names [Laughter] yeah because we're called diane you can't have any children and anyone who you know i did but i can't remember who played them okay i'm sorry to say that is your minute up what uh what can you give me not allowed um we'll go with diane keaton for which one uh first wife's club diane keaton um we'll go with a harvey keitel for the first wives club harvey keitel and we'll go with sarah jessica parker for the first wise club sarah jessica parker okay of those three which is your best shot at a pointless answer do you think harvey keitel harvey keitel okay we'll put him last least likely to be pointless sarah jessica parker okay we'll put sarah jessica parker first and then diane keaton goes in the middle lovely yeah okay let's put those answers up on the board in that order and here they are we've got sarah jessica parker diane keaton and harvey keitel well if one of these turns out to be pointless and wins you that jackpot what would you like to do with it three thousand two hundred and fifty pounds that's a nice jackpot yes yeah vicky holidays holiday basically nicola um it's my sister's 40th birthday soon and hopefully going to cyprus so i'll have to use it for that i think lovely okay well it's very very best of luck wouldn't it be great if one of these answers won that jackpot for you you've been fantastic across three shows and this last show it just feels right i think it just feels right let's find out sarah jessica parker is your first answer this was a bit of a shot in the dark i think wasn't it for the first wives club let us find out if it's right uh well let's find out if it's right shall we first sarah jessica parker first wives club it is right sarah jessica parker was indeed in the first wives club well this is exciting if this goes down to zero you will leave here with 3 250 pounds down we go still going down at sarah jessica parker you've done it that is fantastic congratulations sarah jessica parker is a pointless answer you are taking i knew there was something about today you are taking home today's jackpot of 3250 pounds very very well done very very well paid it must have been somewhere there uh in the back of your head that's a terrific answer if we'd had to carry on if she had not been uh correct uh diane keaton would have scored you eight points harvey keitel was an incorrect answer so sarah jessica parker all your eggs were in that basket and uh it held so very very well played um let's take a look at the point of scientific show for the different films some big names in uh in all of these the cotton club you could have had jennifer gray uh lawrence fishman or larry fishburne as he used to be credited um back then nicholas cage is in that movie tom waits he does acts in a few things neither singer tom waits who's pointless in that um everybody point is there apart from richard gere diane lane and gregory heinz everyone else was a pointless answer so very well done if you said somebody else from that film um lots of big names in the first wives club the feminist author gloria steinem plays herself in that film jk simmons who won an oscar for whiplash she's in it dame maggie smith pointing science to the brilliant stockard channing wizzo from greece and so much else um elizabeth berkley is in it martial gay harden rob reiner timothy oliphant all of those are pointless answers scorers goldie horn bette midler diane keaton and ivana trump everybody else was a pointless answer there so well then if you said something else and fight club now uh david andrews holt mcconnelly richmond arquette and zach grenier the scorer's there uh brad pitt obviously a big score of 65 points for brad pitt edward norton helena bonham carter scored points he would have scored you six meatloaf and jared leto as well all of those scored points everyone else in that film was a pointless answer very well done if you've got any of those at home and congratulations what a show thank you very much indeed richardson thanks once again to our winning players vicky and nichola who take away today's jackpot of 3250 pounds join us next time when we'll be putting more obscure knowledge to the test on pointless meanwhile it's goodbye from richard goodbye dan it's goodbye from me goodbye [Music] so [Music] you
