[Music] everybody welcome to the knitting club in medina my to get too far away like closeness okay hi so welcome to the knitting place podcast I believe it is podcast we finally hit it it's a 20/20 so much for our our we were going to record right before Vogue or right after though we did well we did right before vote you can do right after but it was no right and you know no we were just too exhausted to visit you that's a crazy show folk is always a tough show because we're bending there so it's a lot of work I mean it was a month ago well you know what it is your your right ear like January 1st it's like full speed ahead you'll probably really we're just doing vogue real and I mean we're in the shop of course but yeah it's hard to juggle both right it really is and then I was sick which you all know no that's always a tough January and then coming off a vogue we're still unpacking stuff on the shop I said today they tell you do we have any more brown vegan terrible right oh my god my hair guys I can't any put my ears my hair back behind my ears why Dana because Lee knows the country Dinah was just telling me she had a hairdressers appointment this morning I tried to make one oh I thought you had I'm so vain no she didn't have one she was going to get a hair done right I gave up yoga to go get my hair done so I won't need to Dyna surprised how could you did work any of them I returned at home and into my yoga talisman but that's okay and I'm texting Lee no can I come in this morning no Lena no Lena where's Lee no he's in Europe god bless him I know right mm-hm but what you should do did you make an appointment for next week no because he's in Europe I have to call the shop actually I'm going over a week he's only gone for a week I heard I'm really do for some color need to tame down this color after the Sun and feel like I've been oxidized Wow like a carrot with major break okay and not focus on the hair mags can't help but focus on it wait a minute you something next anyway so that was that was bogan then we came back and it's just been busy thank God yeah with one thing or another and should we talk about both yeah let's do folk was exciting it was I think it was probably it seemed to me one of the biggest bulbs in terms of the terms of attention oh yes vendors there were a lot of vendors there a lot of people crazy busy I don't I did not get to really leave the booth I left briefly I think we left more than I did I mean I love for the restaurant right but they were having visits yeah they went to I had to pick up my special purchase that I ordered from Catania see now I didn't know about I had that that was a my to-do list and then I wanted to go visit Stephanie the silent fibers but I missed her she was lunching at the time that I went and that's really it I didn't get to shop unfortunately well you did get something from will now and Jordan fun oh yeah because she's she was right I used my megaphone only the Jews across st. Agatha can you set me up no I did the golden era shawl that's right I was really I'm very excited about that she had some colors that was lovely yeah have not cast on you I covered I told you get it was a pale pink mm-hmm I believe it it had a shimmer okay and then I did is that the plumber of the brown I think I did the plum okay and there was a medium shade yeah it's not pretty three three dollars golden hour I need to I got the six pack oh yes yeah it was very cute she had a laugh she little bar sent up with my physics of stemless wine glass yeah what does it come with a glass it what came with yeah I did you not pack you guys so I had the six panga which in case it was the glass in the six-pack that's it separate separate no I'd you don't that it's very cute yeah so that was very sweet so Thank You tabatha well I walked around my daughter came in on Sunday why he came in yep towards the end of the show and went downstairs to the fifth floor and at that point it was just I was the fifth floor I'll be honest with you I I didn't see much because you know I walk down there and I looked at the aisles and again that's what I mean there seem to be so many aisles downstairs did they squish some of the things like yeah there were two in there I looked at Audrey and I said I wore dress I can't do this I said there's too many rows we walked quickly through I I didn't even see there were two yarn shops from Long Island that were vending downstairs I did I must have walked past them but I didn't see them nobody Corbin yarn shop and then in a garden I didn't see them I did stop at Stephanie's booth okay she was busy with customer at the time so I didn't speak with her I can't even tell you what I saw downstairs like so I had gone down to cut wrinkles and I literally she was right in the corner so I went in and went out yeah I didn't even have to go in to get to get ticket wrinkled she was only the front and right at the front by the door so convenient for me anyway they even had like magpie there was I was outside the actual benders and they had a whole long wall down they really nice so they seem to have really more vendors more Indies were there more and do more indie dyers were there you know it would be nice if vendors had an extra hour before the show like you know if we sew banners can shop amongst managers like on Saturday more can come up to the six but it was fun we saw a lot of customers we see every year mm-hmm return amazing lots of new faces right it is so nice and you had the frame from page the framer which was definite shot that was a picture I will definitely pick one or two I'll try to insert some pictures here from vogue that was definitely a hit in the booth pages very sweet and let me borrow the frame you need and it was just fun so many people took pictures I hope that all of you who did take shares if you have not tagged page the frame or please do hash tag page the frame where they'll put it at the bottom the screen she would love to see the pictures it was so gracious of her to mail it to me and I am really very grateful that was a fun little yeah thing that we birth we had the ladies from East Foster eco can't say Lisa and Melissa enough for Sam behind mask greetin meet up on Saturday that was nice always lovely having them around we got to spend some time with them off they were here for the week we came to Long Island there was a dinner with him that was a lot of fun fun it's freezing that week yeah so we get so cold right we got to have drinks with Miriam at the bar all we did that was so much fun Miriam from Chelsea Chelsea said one of the Chelsea pearls right that was a lot of fun yeah and it's funny because she was out having a drinkin she she was she was sitting at the bar what have you no I'm saying she didn't hit the separate Instagram post we should meet up with them you should well when we live in this hat exactly so we're sending an invitation who'd be a pod Christina and Miriam we want to drink with you Heather we're not house at night with Kristy glass well that's why I'm do I Christina City that was a lot of fun and while we were it an act that was midnight right we can yeah we met we had the pleasure to be sitting next to mr. hugs that was fun and mr. hugs has been he's been on Christie glasses channel several times he was one of her manche interviews again last year I think it was last year and he has he does a ton with cables he does terrific design work he developed these large needles like size one hundreds yeah huge make sure of that I think show that you should answer so that was fun that was fun we also got to sit with other people at the table which was really lovely one of Christie's friends from Rhinebeck oh yes she was lovely yeah and then who else did we meet we saw familiar faces there of course so that was fun what else did we do what do we do Friday night Friday go incredibly that's our beer at the bar oh that wasn't right after we set up we went yeah we went Lynch oh man yep local Long Island crew and then we saw that's what we saw Miriam and she joined us for a while but Dinah and I some people stay in the city we since we're on Long Island and it's easy we go back and forth so we can be tactically well we're probably 20 miles from Manhattan if that much so and of course the times that we're going back and forth is really usually no traffic because it's early in the morning and late in the evening right it's definitely buzzkill although we didn't hit traffic Saturday morning there was a tractor-trailer overturned on the expressway that oh yeah and we almost we get we were so ahead of schedule because we had things we needed to do and of course that just killed we arrived on time yeah we were there trying to get there early right and what else do we do Saturday night we did the Knitting the night then at night and then Sunday last day of the show which was actually quite busy yes sunday was so busy as Sunday we've ever had at Vogue it really was it was nice it was a good flow on Sunday it was behind Sundays to be the best days Friday seems to be a frenzy it's like the open end is crazy well one but they first opened the doors to Vogue though it seems like it is a full of dogs out yeah and then Saturday is just the aisles were so packed people were saying that they couldn't even walk her yeah I would not have the patience for that mm-hmm I mean we have a different perspective being on inside the booth but even being in the booth constant flow of people and you know it's great energy everyone is so excited the double booth I thought you know I was nervous about the double booth but we seem to carry it well yeah I think it worked well there's always every year we do it and we there's always listen there's always some way you can I always have angst well you know it's very hard because you know I mean what was the whole thing that week right I was like bring it with you it's like no I have too much bring it with you know I have too much but in any event it always ends up working out and it is fun it's a lot of work but it's fun and then Sunday night we packed up which is the process you know in and of itself right your daughter I was there she had to take an uber back we didn't have enough room you have any room in the car with all my stuff not realizing how many trips we've actually made in and bringing additional stuff because you always have those customers all who will have special requests and I guess one of the advantages of coming back home is we get to revisit the shop and bring things that we may not necessarily consider bringing to the show but we have the opportunity to go go go back and get right so we did have quite a bit of style and yeah we did take an extra uber that was funny and then we went out for pizza yeah I was about to end the weekend right yeah we still need to do a celebratory dinner we do you can do that it's always fun we can have you can have your dirty martini yeah and I can have some stone like blushes you know anyway that was our vogue yes unfortunately I mean just that you've heard it all yes seen it all Isaac and again this is Myrmidon that a different side from the vending site so we really unfortunately did not see a lot of things of course oh yeah you don't you're taking the Stephen West do so Stephen yeah cos do that was nice I kind of grabbed him as he was Pat was walking well you know what it was he was going up on stage with what's the other gentleman's name the other guy's name they were throwing out the yarn the man who's a designer it's on the tip of my tongue Josh Bennett thank you Josh Bennett we and our booth dynasty yarns all right bye that's right Daisy on tops I think it was risky I think I was over interview he was yellowest at the same time he was being interviewed up on stage and then they did the yarn to us and that was crazy right with the yarn to us oh my god Chris right there right then everyone comes like and they even come into the booth did you catch the other people I I think I caught a skein or he did I quit I gave a new game sounds fun anyway alright so next let's move on vogue recap done yeah back what's been going on what's been going on well where should we start you want to start with Epis yeah I've got my count gorgeous color eh we saw Isabel Kramer at the show yes oh my god that was just amazing yeah haula from my act was so gracious she brought over Isabelle crying she introduced me to Isabel Kramer it was really very gracious of her I was admiring the shawl and there was a gorgeous sample that was knit in the MIAC yarn so I think it's the medium yes the base and I unfortunately I really wanted to get over there to see it but I didn't get a chance to and Paulo was gracious enough to introduce me Isabelle because I was so excited about Holland and I had to cast on as soon as I had a free moment right after Vogon here and although just is that so this is that cowboys and angels got your little lace incense and it's got the lattice dish table wobbles yeah we start now Dinah tell them story how it got the name cowboys and angels yes she was traveling actually she picked up the yarn and she was the Nashville and I believe I don't I think the colorway that she had cast on with she's like no it was my live is a yes I think she had used her original color was pollen from Hedgehog what was that right yes and she was in Nashville and she was I think trying to buy cowboy boots I hope I'm saying the story right to match the color of the yoga colorway of the yarn of the shawl and it was just I guess she was just taken by being in Tennessee and being in Nashville she called the cowboys and angels so it was very it's cute yeah it was nice meeting her it was lovely and I love her designs you know her just fine tonight we we're definitely Isabel Kramer fancy absolutely there was so many of them gasp so her shawl actually we came back from the shop and I put some straw kits together we have a few people knitting them they're already done with that so this colorway of course sold out right away and it's a DK Rachel Tek late it took we're skeins I don't know if you saw my insta story or any of my posts I literally I don't know if I I might have been a little loose and I know that strange Birmingham but it called for a size 7 needle it called for four skeins and for some reason I only had a yard or two left of yarn well you need a mantastic Madeline Tosh DK there might have less yardage a little bit less yardage than the Hedgehog I don't know the exact yardage but it certainly was enough what's that color again this is glaze back on its on reorder in fact I don't know if it'll be here by the time this podcast airs but if not surely often it'll be the following week so if you do have a special request for it you're always welcome to call the shop and pre-order you know what I like about it is that you know nowadays of course I'm wearing a shawl that's got you know color change but it's nice that it's one color but her I mean Madeline Tosh I don't know if you can see it but they're shading yeah but it's still a just one yeah you're not doing any there's no color or London hour there's no melting which makes a design in the show I think stand out even more you really appreciate the baubles and the lattice stage the Garter the ribbed edge yeah I love this shawl it was really fun to make and you can go back on my Instagram and check out one of my videos because I did a one row bobble you did that I like this when they're backwards and you don't have to turn your work look at that no I mean who doesn't want to not turn them work but you know what interestingly I did get a DM an insta message for those of you direct message on Instagram requesting that I do video posting how to make the bobble with turning with turn isn't that interesting yeah so they want to miss oh that was funny I was doing the lace class the other night and Marianne was doing a bobble and it was a three stitch bobble she's just fun yeah I don't know how they she made that there's so many different ways that she's my lightest right of course but then grace was doing another square in the lace book and she had to make seven out of one oh wow and the challenge to that is it a knit one yarn over and knit front back knit faux like knit front front back now hers was a knit yarn over this is a Marian yes that's it mom Marianne your own but but the the challenge that Grace had was that all you do is you increase from one to seven and move on down the road when you come back on the next row that's when you do the purl seven together can learn this that's what I've been together well it's four which is why one of the gals that ended up fun well one of the ladies in the class who is a tight knitter who she omitted that square because she just couldn't get the set that whatever yeah and she says in the book what you need to do this get like GT needles I know but I would take a spare like a size one or two double pointed needle and literally feed it through right so they get room well she and so she lifts them off you actually have the space to it like if you get it besides you have a space to pull them through that yeah well so that's crazy isn't that crazy so it says and you need to be you know when you do an increase unit in the front you can don't have to pull it up a little bit I said Chris grab seven in there but anyway talking about bobbles that was very amazing because I'm looking at it and saying this she's not for anything that he forged together or knit three together well I had that on the what I like it that I did he did it's also because I'm tight yeah it is he didn't it for together right and that was I was even at four hundred five I don't remember now but that was a challenge I can't imagine seven what I would do on that was I would do the row so minute grace is doing it she's yeah you know me jano minute but cuz Jane is a very tight knitter but but she but what I did on the Jared flood the piece he has the one yarn it's almost like feather and fan you have the one row that has the yarn over knit two togethers whatever and I knew where that stitch was gonna occur well when I would come back on the purl side so when I was doing it on the right side I made it extremely smart yeah cuz it was there you had the foresight because otherwise it just gets very far TV is like way too tedious anyway some technical yeah so that's an F oh did you bring your F file I don't have anything yes you do what man I can't couldn't find it dang oh no I made Lucy I'll show you on my phone I made Lucy no my phone is here somewhere I made Lucy a crown a crown I sorted somewhere on Instagram and needed crown and she's always wearing headbands and hats so I thought let me make her crown so I did it I had some of the pudding yarn leftover from a vest that I had crocheted her so I did that I'll show you to my photos actually I have a picture of it in my photos and I'll show it to you don't you like it she wouldn't put it on the day I made it Emily said you know right it really depends on the mood that they're in right she's entitled to laughter where exactly but he usually does wear it she will I'm sure she will I said can you is Nick lair you got that ding yeah that's funny isn't it adorable it's a little bit looks like a blanket edging right a blanket edging so if I can get it spring if I could get a picture it's free it's an amazing thing it's called circle a will you send it to me so yeah yeah bye Danny sunshine what a nice name do you guys aren't shiny and so anyway we'll get a picture of Lucy with it at some point so I did that that's really the only thing I finished I have to say I have not finished anything else all right well I finished only I actually I did finish a couple more thing you did well I did do a test net I did a test net for Tracy Miller from the grocery girls I made the Prairie mittens which I'm absolutely in love with they're so nice and cozy when are on did you use for this time I use Madeline Tosh DK paired that's so cloud I don't know if you could see the halo there's that mineral that you put with that I used mineral for the cell cloud and I used smokestack so nice for the Tosh DK nice and if you are interested we have kids online you think they're called Prairie minute anything but you can come in or just really select and it calls for a DK weight yarn paired with a mohair so I just did a couple I but for some did you use magic I use magic booth Tracy recommended magic glue but she also said you can use your favorite method I found that that was very useful the magic loop she did a beautiful gusset increase here and you have this section and pattern and then you have the palm done in garter stitch so keeping the two stitches separate it was kind of nice having it on Magic Loop because you had it half and half as opposed to fumbling between it yeah many different needles and you also have this nice turn in cute adorable so you go and go inch it is how feminine is this little edge Wow how cute is that I have to make another pair well you know the nice thing about this a mitten like this is there is a lot of learning first of all you could use magic loop you actually learn the technique because in the beginning mm-hm it's a fold-over cuff and so in the beginning you're doing about six rounds in Magic Loop before actually doing anything yes and then you're learning the technique of the picot edge but the hem you are learning if you haven't done it before the gosset very nice instructions increasing going on and out right love the pattern stitch and the shaping and it's just lovely I had so much fun making them I did it didn't take I made them quickly yeah it was it was fun I was afraid that I might have I was just thinking of that Diana I really didn't I think maybe because it was on a larger needle yeah I feel so small and I find it a little bit roomy I'm wondering if I were to make it again if I would use a smaller needle but mittens aren't meant to be tight no they're not meant to be no and I noticed that when I wore them they really kept my hands warm and they do because they're not so snug on my hand well what that's what remember Miriam said when we did and we did alive one day and you were mentioning these mittens Miriam from Chelsea pearls was saying they for outdoor recess yes she's right and I do outdoor recess also make a pair and I have memory made those mittens out of mich a--from yes I always change my mind you can't find out no I have mine I use them because the mittens keep your hands when you're outside for an extended period of time warmer than a regular glove does with the thing just something with the wool and mohair yeah it's much much 1/3 of the reason you finished them probably more timely that's because you can use them now yes and I did now me on the other hand I still have my holy socks yes I finished them I wouldn't fall I am done with one I just have to do the toe and then I have to kiss the other one on I want to make another pair I don't know if I should make another pair we should do a pair of socks and we should do we should do like a different heel like they do the fish the fish with the cold fish kiss fish lips whatever it's called heel and the one that you I think you put the yarn honest like you mark it with a piece of waste joint yep tobacco that's the afterthought heel no I'm so confused there's so many ways to do it but in any event she was very gracious she gifted me another pattern I liked her other pattern which one she had another mitten care I would like to do her Galliano socks yes that's what I would like to do those socks look nice they look very nice so anyway those are my tests Nick and I do have another F oh yes well I didn't make this one this one Barbara was very sweet she made this for the show it's the might rahat and Jake loved it and he wanted one so I made one for is her son oh yes Jake is my son if you're watching for the first actually there's a nice lecture I've been wearing the Hat on Instagram I'll have to enter a few days ago yeah that's a great picture he's so cute he look great with them heading to Barcelona there's a show that human tech show oh no nice and he sent me a picture I think it was from the airport it was him wearing his hat and a scarlet and it sure that knows a different one oh that he surprised me at home but the one he personally sent a picture of him wearing the hat and the scarf and he's like I'm wearing all mine it's from mom he's like you're traveling with me wherever sorry god it's very cute you know it's funny you talk about knitting you know who needs another scarf Oh Tyler really what happened to the time I was trying to say this because my family you don't know you might not know this data they always make fun of me when I say his name why because I have of course a New York accent okay I said it the way I would normally say it it sounds like a Hilah hi MA and so the kids know my kids how'd she call him Tyler Tyler Chris they are we dropped the I dropped the are so I'm trying to say Tyler the Rowland I'd be trying to roll my R so I don't get made fun of but anyway I made him what was that stitch diner that I made him it was like flat yeah what was that and I changed colors every gyros and we called it the Tyler called it's a Tyler Scott but he wears he really wears his scarfs but Lana and he'll even wear them around the house he'll walk around the house he puts his hat on he has I had around the house so anyway but Jake make the one that I made for Jake and I yeah I don't know what should you make but anyway so I don't know well you know the problem that I have when I made that scarf for him it was more than a year ago now he's six foot four so when you make a scarf for a tall guy I mean how long did it take me it in at that scarf and that was a slow moving stitch because two rows made one v was it a brioche it was a webinar it was like this lipstick there was a purl Soho that pattern I think that one but it's folded over remember it has that stitch yeah but I can't see what's the rest of it look like it has the ribbing at the bottom this is the picture he sent me he's wearing his hat and scarf he's at the airport yeah well that's nice she says initiated so you know so now this is Tyler's Tyler's that was his second scarf and so now I'm gonna have to and I better start making it now because you know I'm gonna move for Christmas well oh for next winter even just for next winter you know I haven't be the Christmas but you want to the imaginary kid hats scarves the ones we have to use to kids for him oh yeah they're not that long right he needs to be long he wraps it in his tool no it's just a nice yarn is simply natural mm-hmm that's a great one yeah I don't want to be on a sighs nothing well we'll have to come up with one but in any event so that's stay tuned for the new Tyler Tyler Tyler all righty well I haven't finished but I haven't finished object that I'm wearing that ident that I didn't knit but we spoke about it we did yep we did but Barbara once again thank you Barbara that's a that's a good picture of it slow curve slow curve low current okey and again we used Madeline Tosh light yes and we change you remember the colors for shades I do not I know this is Dubrovnik I don't know that I'm nice night and chilly one is another it's something or somebody another woman's treasure yeah another woman's treasure that's right any women if I thought hard enough I could probably but yeah I'm missing one but it's a nice shore it's lovely and we did make a modification in the sense that instead of buying the second scheme for one of the color third color the fried the Dubrovnik to brother is the dark code we kind of joined it in a little early because you can't have yep the third color is the one that you'll use the most of right which is you never know though if we didn't tell you yeah so if that's in your queue you can easily do it with four skeins and still have plenty of left over right alrighty what's next what are you Rick I do have we have a couple of web spaces I only got one my width is um I know I didn't mention it the last time because I started it after vote and it was inspired by Lisa correct of these days she was she was wearing hers made several I think yes I think she him and that's really the depressing part she made one since I saw her are you kidding me she finished she finished it she was wearing it and I'm so she pressed because hi this is called the pattern quilt half mitered and I'll tell you who it's by and it's done in sections it's this is the first section this this section in here the triangle yes this part in there then you pick up and you work this you don't pick up but anyway you work it and now I'm currently working on an identical one on the other side and then there's something up here somewhere and it has if you want you can put a tassel at the end by the divine back edges I have no idea well you know I think I knit them what I pretty and I used do you want to I think the lights better on your side done Madeleine Taj DK it's a beautiful color it's called grace notes which is a very pretty color it's coming out a little washed out but it's a pretty color so the beautiful speckle going through it yeah different colors kind of hard to capture but it is very pretty and I did do between my first and second skein I did a Russian join oh oh so tell I did I did write a myth somewhere I did a Russian join so I don't have an end now this end is here before there is one end somewhere over here somewhere right there right yeah right there hold it because I had to I had the yarn cut from the other side and I joined it okay on this side so that's there for that wooden but this is a fun pattern and will tell you who it's by is that a using it or do you have to know what you're doing or keep track of well it's all God or stitched so it's easy but you they do do a short row thing on either side so once you commit it to memory it's it's kind of short row that's what you are asking well it's it she she goes across let me try to remember now I'm on the other side now so I've got the other one in my in my memory she goes across then she comes back and then she does a little bit this way and then goes back again no but is she doing just a regular no reaction yeah no wrap and turn okay no Ropin - the reason I'm asking I mean how many different ways just when I thought I alway know all oh yes you were telling me that so I'm doing a Japanese short row yeah on my whip yes and what is the Japanese short row so it's similar to a German short it's similar to a German short row in the sense that you're creating oh no it's really not similar so what do you do you're doing a yarn over stitch need for a certain point your your knitting to your short row yeah you turn your work you create a very tight yarn over after you turn your work and depending on whether you were going into the sized or you sit down the purl side you slip the stitch either with your on in front or the yarn in back just let it live okay so so what do you do what do you do with the yarn over when you come back to it so depending on the direction that you're going you're either you're either knitting it the yarn over together with the following stitch with an SSK or a knit two together you an SSK the yarn over together with the next stitch so closing that gap and that doesn't make a whole no and what do you do what's the other way you do if it's not an SSK what do you do knit two together and how do you get them together just right so Lee I think what happens is if you were on a knit two together I don't know if it's the knit two together the yarn over stitches first and then you knit it together with the next step oh no it's a directional because either way right the yarn over I think it's first or second I don't remember the order so to it so it is either SS Kate or knit two together depending well that's interesting but that's reshaping that doesn't seem difficult that almost seems nicer than difficult but you do have to wrap they tell you to wrap the yarn tightly around the needle it's almost like the double stitch yes where you when you do a double stitch you want to pull tight so you get the two strands but that yarn over has to be tight I think otherwise you get a little bit of a hole okay so why is that used on this it is oh okay so I am knitting rug that's gentle is something you do again you're doing the aren't you doing the crystianna's on it on the Chrissy glass plenty Hill cashmere no on I love this sweater thank you too and netting Bob which is coming up backwards but it's from junco oh c'mon Okamoto nineteen and I'm using Clinton Hill cashmere I will not enter the month I mean I'm in the knit along but I'm not going to enter the contest always a really pious experience I think you're supposed to pull know that I think the contest is that you need to use this uh use it and there's five skeins of Clinton Hill bespoke cash mm-hmm so let me just see here now Dyna kind of inversed the colors she did yes instead of to the cream with the black patterning she did the black with the white which I love I'm so excited you almost done so I was hoping as a spook I was hoping to have the stitches bound off on the body I was gonna wear it without didn't make it and then his long sleeves yes I'm looking at the sample day well you're almost done though so yeah it's just interesting you know just when you think you know all the short rows right there's enough you know there's always always always something to learn which is fun I absolutely love that right now I was doing a tubular cast on the other day with the customer and yeah there's so many different ways of doing a tubular cast on well it's funny because Joan does her method and I know that Shelly Anderson on the might rahat we've been using the tubular cast on where you actually take waste yarn and then that's the that isn't slip you double your stitches experience slip this one that we did did not use waste join it had the you you know there's like under overall demand arm right that's like the Italian way to correct so so John is like I can do that cast on of course you know she could do it without waste yarn you know I just remember funny part is with the hat that that the customer was doing I just needed a month ago and the Roku hat the Roku had my all guitars and thank you and I don't remember what I did a month ago I know it Oh idea but you did it yeah we didn't know today yeah okay like splinter it's a paper cut well I hope it's not splinters no I think it's a paper cuts painful hang bills very painful well another wit that I have again we have to we have to have a conversation about how many projects we have you know this is another thing anyway I started this for Lucy there is nothing else in my bag well here yeah I do know what I want to cast on no I'm not knitting omitting only on this right now I finished my Prairie mittens you're being but I can't think it morality monogamous to one project at a time trying to rate well I think that's I'm holding stress analyst on ahead for me personally that that is I feel it goes faster that way because you get something done right you see progress if you're doing a little on this and a little on that then this I started when olive was we were expecting olive last year I wanted to give something to Lucy well now all of this like almost four months old and Lucy still doesn't have it forget it this is a crocheted blanket I can't even tell you what stitch it is because I saw it somewhere I don't even know where I got it from it's not it's something like the tool it's something like it it's got a single crochet between each of these and I think I do a single a half double in and maybe a double I'm not sure but anyway the yarn that I'm using it does look like a single Hector I think that's what it is because I have more work on it now and I have to go back and rip some applicants that are going stitch I'm using a yarn that we carry here in the shop that's very popular for little kids you have a new site that's better over there it's coldest letter B and kids like whether the child is a year old or even a teenager they just love this yarn yeah yeah so I thought that I would make it for Lucy and it's a very light I mean it's a dense stitch that I'm doing but the blanket is still light definitely so we'll see how long this takes hopefully show me but you see my podcast very honest my dilemma is you say there are two theories and I right now I'm stuck in limbo because I can't decide what to do we had coffee recently a few weeks ago mm-hm and I pulled out my Stephen West what's that called building block the building blocks right now that was a project that you would say I'm probably how did you start that in the mystery little I did how how far along am I am i two-thirds done or a half I'm not more than halfway done did you do the bear I did the usual yeah you finished the hard section right I finished the hard section that's true you right I did I'm more than halfway done yes I do thirds right and so now I bet it's hard to talk that it does get wider at the top right well the reason I put it down was because I was doing Christmas knitting that year that's why I put it down and I absolutely loved the colors that I have in that show no you're the colors on that show but I had to figure out where I was so that was the whole thing figured out where I was right we did we figured it out now where is that you shelf it again I did because I want to look today why didn't you notice what did I notice you're gonna blow I know where I am now if I picked it up now I could but I thought I was on the last section I really did but thanks said wait a second I'm on section 606 I think I wanna have seven so baby shy but but if I said I'm gonna knit a row a day if I knit rows a day I put have it done by next year no Jake's blanket Jake's playing in to finish Jake's not in kiss spontaneous I thought I could do a row or to her dad you can do it it's not that I can't I just haven't done it wow this is now two hanukkah's that a dad was to hona yes oh my good it should have been done you're in a big needle with it I know wow wow think you're gonna do a row a day and it just doesn't happen when you just commit to the project well I also then that brings me back to like a cloud same thing I love like a cloud I want that done by one but that's what you should make it a squishy which basically next thing will tour even you know Marsha is making it emotional I love every time sir okay anyway so just to say this real quickly I now have about around 300 stitches on the needle maybe 280 300 okay no you joined all in one oh yeah yeah you're on strong I like it when she's down from the zoo l2 engine but I have to I could do eight rows put it down eight rows just do pattern repeat okay well that and that's the thing too so then I say well if I do four rows it's still gonna take me time to get that thing done it's like it's not gonna be done soon so then I say well I'm not doing it I'm just gonna work on this and finish this so the other night we had guided knitting and Rita is doing it I read it to Lanza and she said okay I have to leave by 9 o'clock I'm sure she said 9:00 to 10:00 she this is her method from 9:00 to 10:00 she knits four rows yes she does have rows half a repeat that his neighbor so usually I could do eight rows in one day she does four rows and she's moving along she's moving along smart so anyway so I thought that's always interesting so what do you do how do you approach your knitting do you do I mean it in the morning one project well but if you knit in the morning and then you should have the time later on to knit are you working on the same project manager and you knit at some point in the morning but you don't knit it all in the evening not usually I'm not tired I usually I'm too tired yeah that's what happens with me I can't I can't I can't because sometimes it just don't happen like the other day you know what it is I get home I start cooking right Sophie yeah you're you're a mom I go visit my mom I mean I'm just doing things like I'm mentally exhausted I always find that when I get home I always think oh I'm home I can it's always right and I'm hoping it by the time I do dinner that's my my damage like I'm too tired yeah I can't suppress things yeah so anyway that but that's my problem so right now I'm like I could pick up I really should pick up my like a cloud a little bit every day you should or even if it's every other day even if it's for 15 minutes right or the vaulting blocks by Stephen West which I love the colors on or the blanket for Lucy you know it's hard because those projects that you're describing especially with building blocks and like a cloud there are a lot of stitches on a raft inches so I think in that particular case rather than saying maybe okay I'm gonna do an hour and night you might dedicate a day of the week like on Monday I'll work on this what would be well like doing but then I feel like I never have what did you knit what did you say well then right that's true because you're slicing that is very true but if you were to say okay like I was just thinking all right you were 15 minutes or half what are you getting done Robert XY some reason works for an hour and she does for ROS that's a lot that's a yes it's like it's like this much no that's a lot well but the body is actually not it's not that not the one I thought it was Steven yeah no I made it I mean you can make whatever you want clearly but it's not as deep as everyone for stick to one love that sweater I just wore yesterday yeah love that I know that is a sweater everywhere you know what I want to make it again that's why it's it's such a good sweater it's a very easy where Barbara did it in squishy speaking of squishy you know lovely delivery a we did and we brought it here to show you yeah let me get something well I'll start tell me what are you tell them what squish them we just squishy is a beautiful yarn from Anzu Ola it is a blend I think it's merino wool cashmere and Lucien nylon mm-hmm so let's say this is petals it's a new colorway for us in the shop that's not good I would go look good go close to the screen let's see if I just push hold on a minute mmm it's a light yes there's orangey though they're they're not that's petal mm-hm beautiful color right mm-hmm and then we got a nice delivery in charcoal tried to hold them for a little bit this is the new color love this color curry I think it's a little bit more intense there it is great great colorway this one is a restock madam let's see that's a great color madam not coming up that wall this is a great color seaside of course it sells hand over fist because our sample is made in this color which is our little Paxton baby sweater yes and have she's just very one pocket makes this newborn sweater yeah with a hat and even booties if you want very cute it's actually unbuttoned but it's like an off-center yeah it's pretty it's chopped down off center button band top down sweater once gain all-in-one and I believe the sleeves are done on dpns to learn magic loop right the Hat the Hat is a pattern it's called simple lace identified called simple lace it's I believe a free I think it's a friend much I think you have to purchase what I do and I we took the lace section out of it to keep it unisex right I believe that you'd have to do this either on a 9 inch or a 12 inch needle for the Premio or the newborn hat unless should you Magic Loop or I did mine on a 16 did you lose your tight the first row was tight but then after that it was fine very popular sweater very sweet easy absolutely love Len it's nice with squishing it's a nice Sean never then we have black no brainer and own natural and then look at this these are stock colors yeah Oh should we read them off good this one is called toffee and I love this one a Seabreeze Nimbus Nimbus gravity pewter storm Navy Victoria this one certainly sexy I like that name I think that's a pretty that's one family of colors colors in this and the name is so appropriate for the yarn it's so sad squishy you have the attainment this is Sofia this one Sofia rosebud this colorway ballerina that's this one here I think that's Sophie again lipstick I'll lipstick excuse me very similar but different this is the natural Oh naturally showed that we start each very pretty like that color that's nice for a baby Arizona right color like that name this one is a knee lift in yeah that's I love Danny that's a great color plum Danny of course it is and Irene and what did you the color that you major to check that out of squishy I want a bubble gum that was bubble gum I don't think we have bubble gum right now makin grab it but anyway at Eggman is another nice thing yeah that's a beauty but so there are a couple of things that you can actually do in the any color work sweater fingering cup anything absolutely I know that Chris actually was just inquiring she wants to do a girl's best friend shawl she could do that which is gonna be you know this would be lovely yeah this friend I'm thinking I might make money yeah and also I just thought of this like this in the garden I do did Barbara to hers out a squishy or cricket the like a cloud I think she made she did a squishy she did that's so you can do right as a matter of fact I recommend about to Tracy because she wanted to make another one right so right right right I except I were to make another one I wouldn't do this yeah we do I think so too now the original like a cloud just to remind you do it in a linen like is the summer wait I'm trying what better could you could you could do that you know what you could do well maybe well whatever you could do something like sleeveless you know how it's just curls under like that that would be cute anyway I just sort of thought possibility and I can't remember it but the squishy that they are the like a cloud you know the original pattern she used Shibui Seema held xoauth soul cloud that's the original thing I think was on a size 4 you're on a size 14 I grabbed four yep and again they're sized for needle you have 280 stitches in a row do you know I love it I want to make another one it's nice so what else do we have done well so that's one of our new products that we have in stock we are restocked in our Zuni markers in popular why don't you take one and I'll take one in a sense then I got the gems I got the phases not really that well fate the emojis are fine the emoji sometime so in case you haven't seen these before this is a look you have on your face when you realize you have to revamp if you can see it that's good there you go little gems and there are theirs I'm not going to show you all of them I had different faces I think there were 13 you took fun yep then wired they lay on your needle they don't take up a lot of room which is kind of nice because sometimes it gets better it gets in the way yeah and this is the face you make when you can cast on another project make a joke to enjoy it we know there's love our oh my god I can go crazy come on come on I don't know speaking of accoutrement here do you want to cover thee yes new a correct yes backer works a car works these just walked through the door yesterday you asked me to do an unboxing and this is a new gauge from again it's called akka works and you use it yes you said it's a little different take on a gauge right and it's got the cutout cross it looks like a cross or a tea or an X whatever you want to say and you can measure of course your your four inches and you can also measure you wrote your Rose with this I do a rope you can check your row gauge as well as your stitch gauge and actually what are these things that you can actually set into your work oh so wait it doesn't move around you see the little teeth there yeah there you go that's like trim yeah so that you can put it on the work and it stays in place doesn't slide around as you're trying to measure it so this is a swatch gauge which is lovely thank you know what diana has oh this is really cute this is adorable what is it it's called it - a kit also from aqua where sustain company and what you'll see in here is the same exact swatch gauge tool that's on top which actually pops off yep and then you have a cute little sticker in the inside like well there you go here's the inside and it's brilliant because it's magnetic so although you have all those components inside then I'm gonna send this a needle have the needle is staying in there yep so you have your needle you have tapestry needles two of them and you can always add more you have these little markers the safety pin removable markers so they're open it they can be removable and right then you have this tiny little scissors that a travel sensor it is I actually called them no it is travel safe I'm not sure if it's actually officially TSA approved but they're definitely travel from the other wouldn't take them from you yeah and then there's a tape measurer which is right here pops out the other side around yet tomorrow we're gonna there you go and then this is less really clever but you see your needle gauge right here on the side yep so you could put your needles through there to see what neo gauge you have that's fabulous it's just a great tool kit just something different something fresh something new put in your a knitting bag definitely up my luck that's the way nicely yep and makes a great gift we have dark rock coming up and you know a selfish pleasure it can be you don't have to wait for someone else to get it for you but exactly it's certainly a nice little treat that softly this is the Acker Works toolkit knitting toolkit and certainly good for push Ayres - yep and late yeah over there over here we've got the new the latest lane which is issue number 7 yeah so we're super excited to have this and you've seen posts and heard about it you're gonna get shot yep what is him is there anything in here that not of course there's lots of stuff in there I don't mean to say anything but little bit lovely recipes the photography is great always always lovely yeah that's another divine hold on right there don't believe it or not another design and loved is that rich is that I have to put on my deadline I don't know by heart the name of the designer cuz that's a new one I can't pronounce it it's spelled kou hei I didn't know about this one and it's by Whitney Hayward no I didn't know that this so there's another lovely design that looks is just so popular yeah hands on it the new pattern ho he ho he right has this quote no that's not hope which one is dark cloud dark cloud is by hokey Locatelli and very very messy has another one does she yes she's gotten interpretations yeah no I don't think it isn't it I don't think it is but here Stephen West designed a new one this is that color book a telework owl of course you have Shelly Anderson which we've been right there what's a cold look there's my truck Michael cardigan the Hat that I just previously showed you this night oh my - Triton this is what I'm looking for one that we had many of you may already know the turbo dog collar work not the color work in here lovely yeah so this is great you know we had done the to be done on boxing on this I think we did I think so and who was it that came in and wanted one right away she was having her knitting glue tonight her net night at home with her little knitting group mm-hm and she was so excited so just put it on the coffee table don't get so lovely they you don't even I mean it's just that's what so many of the magazines are now looking at pom-pom and yeah the photography the broke the size of it Lana mentioning there are recipes in here yeah to find one these are the patterns but they're in here so it's not just knitting look at this list when I'll show you I guess it's just a cardigan with the Caribbean Inc on those magazines do you smell it yes yeah I feel like getting high on it it's so strong right now and here's a recipe there's a recipe but in any event this before um let's see this is where to stay in London they tell you where to stay in London in all these different places and I guess huh shops to go visit Apple guys travel guides and employment recommendations really sweet yep and then as we all like to do just create look at all those samples and that great so anyway issue seven in the house in the house well that's it for new product I think it is for you attitude we did have a week or two ago we had Becca here from Clinton Hill Kashmir yes we have a trunk show well she had it we had a trunk show here in the shop and she bought all of her beautiful lovely samples and she was Becky was kind enough to actually read some samples with us what did she leave so what are you gonna start with this one I think time this was palpable of the day of the trunk show yes it was and I forget what it's called it she's called the Grand Square look at that she designed this she was inspired by your traditional I'm a scarf and then you can fold it in half yeah and this is great yeah I love the way you can wear it like a triangle yep well you could put it like a layer but you have to tie one I really do look very silly here but anyway you know and how colors are you know very classic for Kashmir she's starting to add you know new colors but here she has her classic sand and camel camel mm-hmm which is lovely yeah I like the variations that we sold it and it's just a DK weight so it's not as heavy so when you wrap it I mean I think of his four skeins of the main color in the body and three of the edging right and then we have what's this clothing wonder warmer cowl now you can wear it either way you can put the black you know your one color down or up it's just a basic just a basic it's lovely it's this is a bespoke cashmere the worsted weight I wouldn't say I mean basic and design but so luxury well that's where right but that's also elegant yeah and we've had fun with that one because people have come in they picked their own colors they've major browsers I mean you could do whatever you want to do with it you can alert I was going to say how many times I mean we breeze did that yesterday yeah so that's a fun one that's a fun one that takes three skeins of bespoke and this is I think a once game is that that's her classic cowl and that's DK right one skein of DK so who doesn't want some luxury around their neck once gaming how could you not mmm that red looks so good on you that's her scarlet yeah that's pretty isn't it yes it's nice you know keeps your neck one hopefully and then we have some more this is great this one was just recently finished by sandy one of our customers this is called the hidden lines pattern sandy decided to do a scarf but you can also knit it as a shawl look at how that one turns I was just gonna say that that pattern wait my site is not as good as your site but it look at that textured pattern oh there is when the light gets light are you out there beautiful it's absolutely gorgeous this is the course hidden lines this took six games yeah this is the scarf version it's done and they bespoke and if you wanted the shawl version it would be it's actually 73 inches long this is supposed to be eight inches wide on in 12 from 12 inches 12 and 20 oh excuse me 12 inches wide I'm sorry and then 20 inches would be the shawl that's right and that would be 10 skates yes so that's lovely she's gonna be so excited she's done maybe she'll see it you think she'll see it well yes if she comes in before we shouldn't wait and see I should watch the podcast at fan lady she usually wanders it to the tail she does Chris Andy always comes in and said I want this and this because I saw it on the podcast she said I liked the fun kids because I know what I want to make them it's true yeah this here is called the Belgian babes this is a cute little v-neck pull over this takes how many schemes are there he does seven to eight million yeah so it's just a basic be absolutely lovely who wouldn't want to wear that right and again these are all cashmere they're all cashmere pieces which is just lovely lovely and Dinah's rug oh don't imagine we mentioned the that it was the Krista class it along but under cash that's done you know that's the whole thing was I think the whole thing behind the middle long is she's turning 40 yeah later than that and she wanted to treat herself to something so I guess that's the premise behind it right yeah so it's exciting she paired up with Clinton health and so Danny's gonna be able to wrap herself in a cashmere rug because I'm worth it who isn't right we're all worth it who isn't all right so that is it already Clinton Heylin I believe so so thank you Becky for letting us far as your samples we're continuing to enjoy them yep I know you might want to get your hands on some so that's always fun and then we have another fo oh yeah not ours though we should have to share yes but we spoke earlier Isabel Kramer and this is Rafael Rafael oh this is done in Madeline Tosh life I think she modified the patterns slightly because she purchased one skein of each colorway how'd she notify what she did I think she was supposed to have two skeins in this main color it was supposed to be at the bottom or what I got you okay I'm not sure me but that's the nice thing you can play with it I could even use a yarn that changes color absolutely and use that for your absolutely should be pretty okay but this was Madeline Tosh like Madeline Tosh light so you can check the quantities on that that's a lovely sweater also knit from the top down and Isabel Kramer yeah we love our Isabel very much yeah okay so I think that's it for that's it for project yep we actually I should say I came in early today I got a phone call oh that's right now it's Mathematica Thea you had two special visitors today a special show that to Kate and Laura we drove all the way from Connecticut and brought us delicious cookies look at that which we actually we did have one tasted prior we figured it might not be so great to eat on screen oh no you don't do that that's not pretend delicious chocolate chip oatmeal cookies we were just trying to figure out if they were opening raisins or chocolate chips that's it so he had to try them yummy yes they are crunchy cake I'm glad I didn't bite into them I'm screaming baby yeah thank you so much thank you for making the trip down to the shop yeah that was really very sweet you know whenever you have to cross a bridge that's a trip yeah but I asked her it wasn't that much traffic didn't take them a long time no she said about an hour or I think was somewhere between an hour an hour and a half not for them to come down but you know again how many bridges do you have to use it just one bridge dang I think it's just the best I think it's just all the whites don't either one right right yeah but it's still a bridge not so bad and they've been coming they didn't come down in rush hour no and it was kind of nice I mean on the off chance that would happen to be here today and they were making a day of it so they were traveling down coming touched on I'm stopping for lunch and then I'm gonna head back yeah with their new projects yeah I'm excited for them big that that well you know another thing that Dinah has going on coming up soon is the Long Island John crow oh yeah we have some we have some in enough announcements actually we do this what else to it yeah starting Friday we are changing our store hours right three of several things so let doesn't affect you if you live in Kenya well could it actually could they're driving in it could no but seriously speaking we are changing our hours we are going to be opening everyday at 11:30 so if you haven't received the email and you're trying to come visit us or reach out to us or call us off 11:30 to 4:30 Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday and Thursday 11:30 until secondly we also have net night coming back until tonight is that the first Thursday first Thursday of every month it's not this Thursday it will be next Thursday how many more actually excuse me by the time this posts it will be the upcoming Thursday right right tricky when you're podcasting exactly I know well today is well we should say taste when it's not tomorrow it'll probably be following Thursday next Thursday February 27th right just for the record yeah we didn't even that day is a wise now yes can you believe February is almost over we didn't even introduce ourselves I'm Pam or Pam sac on Instagram you just do the blog right if you didn't know that already and you are Dinah from the Knitting place and you can find me at the Knitting place on Instagram but it in place on Facebook and the Knitting place on Ravelry yeah whatever a minute it's like Who am I oh my god should open with that sorry that's okay that's okay switch it up a little bit so do we have any questions for our viewers well I was well I asked them how do they knit you know do they knit like only on one project what do they move it around a little bit okay how many projects do you travel with in your bag the other thing that I I'm wondering and I'm wondering when I say travel I don't mean my take with you from How to Train it's exactly like you in your back oh you do mean that so you mean the day to day basis how many projects do you have in your back like if you're gonna go somewhere and you take your knitting with you you just have one project and the bag or is there more than one project to the bag that's what you're asking yeah what I know the answer for me more than one okay do you oh you must have I see the big you bring it every day I actually have only one in there right now but that's because I did finish my might rahat I did finish my Prairie mittens and otherwise I would write what that was I in there I did have three right but now I'm down to one which means I think that is we were just joking the other day Davis said oh I finished a project that can cast on three more very now that's what we like to turn exactly whatever works right no but we were also saying about young crow oh yeah that's another announcement so April 4th to April 7th correct mark the calendar we are going to defeat lo well or not so late don't come last year we had people drive in from Maryland which is really sweet Connecticut they didn't actually get through the entire Long Island Yarn Crawl way but they certainly got two key shots it's I think that we should I'm so participating this Union is it ten I think it's ten I'm looking at the door because our poster is posted on the door and even without my glasses I think it's about ten I could say so that's going to be exciting April 4th to the 7th we have 10 shops participating you can follow the link or the page on facebook you can follow the long island John Hall on Instagram and you can follow any of the shops that are participating download the passport is there anything special that's happening during your own quadroon your own car hi I mean any shop any shop can do what they want they say that thing that's um I know that we are doing something I don't know am I allowed to say I don't know you know you know what we'd have some we have an exciting thing that's going to happen at every shop meaning something is going to be you can collect something at every shop and at the end of your on call you will have something unique to this particular Yarn Crawl we have our yarn fall bag that it's been I think it might have been publicized actually you can look on Instagram you might be able to view that you get that I think with the $40 purchase for free or you could purchase the bag I know that each end of a individual yarn shop will be hosting or having different specials right or different events and we will have some as well yes but we can't say what they are right now no we're gonna keep it secret for just a little bit stated agent so this is now February 27th so you're saying April 4th so the 7th is about 5 or 6 we launched is a longer month but so when do you think would we podcast before you uncle oh absolutely look better I mean I am going to ey act next well that's the other thing too that's even giveaway on cross yeah so get like tricky but I'm gonna be going to you my ass which is exciting thing with yawn crawl is that we don't have to take anything no I mean that makes it so much easier so much easier we're gonna organize the shop a little bit more get our things together you're excited for the new things we're gonna have in the shop yeah and stay tuned we might be trying to do an it along for Yarn Crawl the reason I'm saying it out loud is because you should all stay tuned if we do a long on we know you say it we might be doing you mean all the knitting stores are gonna do again it's voluntary if the yarn if the yarn shops on Long Island the bite to participate but it's one thing that it's it's we're going to pick a shawl I can hopefully it will be a niche shawl and a crochet shawl so you could whether it's your knit or crochet also there'll be a crochet pattern and a knit pattern correct and you can knit or crochet either one and I'm kind of speaking ahead of myself because we really haven't decided whether or not we're going to do it ou could always Jones if we do you could always participate because then there might be door prizes for you participating shops I was going to say something now when I do the other go ahead no I'm just gonna finish my thought the tricky part with this is that we're starting it now if we start it as of March 1st or March 4 it the only the material know what's hardest for the shops to actually be able to present a sample right well that's how really speaking out of tune I really should edit this whole section out so we don't do this renovate it I don't edit so I just spoke out of turn that wasn't - whatever listen we did have a show last year that we did but you know every year is different we do something different every year yes thanks to John Forgione that was very nice she gifted us a shawl that was lovely I was going to say project that I would love to cast on is and I don't know the name of it it's also Isabel Kramer it's that of the shore not the one that least says nothing yes what is that class oh my god speaking of Lisa oh where is it hold on let me get it we forgot all about that I'm gonna get it what are you getting don't we have them Lisa oh I don't have to get them you have them oh I've been making these wonderful project bears and the reason well as you know they're alive ever gotten a lot of knitters have been sewing lately yeah I think I need a sewing machine I have one I got rid of it look at these terrific bags go closer Kirti girl has been creating these beautiful project bags and it says made by pretty girl with love and profanity we'll leave that to your interpretation exactly it's got a beautiful gusset at the bottom this is sweater this is a sweater Darius 29 thighs it almost fits the entire screen mm-hmm I've got a gusset and it's lined lovely beautiful handle mm-hmm but wait there's not she doesn't only have the zippered version who's the chick Penske have in stock right now but she has a drawstring virgin version as well and I think that the Virgin you did say the urgency she hasn't had anything to drink yet either let's say after the purge and I think this one has a pocket because I think Michelle's had a pocket yes the half it does it does right yeah so there's a pocket inside it's a nice deep bag and if you can tell but just hold it up dinah let it just stand you can see the weight of the fabric it's not a flimsy fabric it's got some like a cotton candy yeah like a canvas prints a lovely yeah yeah so hopefully we'll be getting more prints stay tuned and that is are they online they are you can check them out on our website pretty girl project bags right again those quantities are in it's not like you would would have 20 of these many they're definitely limited the prints are also limited so continuing yellowy field will always be something kryolan about that well what else could we share you're going to eat why if you didn't say much about that I'm taking a class one one on how to fix cables and think you can do that yes but you have this is actually I mean I got my homework I haven't done that what is your homework I've done it several swatches and cable pattern I'm gonna take you with Anna so of course if it's a right twist Kate or a right holds cable front cable then fold cable bond sometimes it's two cables going at the same time so of course if they're both supposed depending on how they slant one of them in the middle of the swatch is slanting a different way who's teaching the class I forgot her name would their choice is Devon you're gonna take like in terms of classes or definitely choices it's just so hard to get into I mean clearly I did not get into the class that I wanted but I did want to take the class right right right you know when we couldn't but we never have time to go class that's right so I just especially these we want to I want it to be on the other side just to see what that was like do you remember Dinah when you and I went to a class in the city John flood yes it had to be how many years ago is that I don't know what that was fun we went to a class on a separate day it was at Lion Brand how that worked out I don't know what that connection was but there were two classes you couldn't get into the first one I got into the first one the two of them and I can't remember what my first class was now what you did the Hat all right I think it was the four squared before the shaping of the Hat but then I joined you in the other class and the class was a shawl or something in the directional knitting we the provisional cast on is a lovely class he's a great teacher right and then what was so nice about the first class was and I don't even I don't know what the class was now but I do know that he started about seeking and he took us from where we were sitting at this table into another room where he proceeded to sneak something and they were maybe 10 of us in the class and I'm so annoyed with myself because I never did anything you know if you don't if you learn a technique and you just you don't do anything with it I know about you but you really don't remember it unless you do it and so can you imagine we took that class with Jared Mike a class with Jared flood down for the diet I would love to I know isn't that crazy I would love to I don't take enough classes well we can't though but speaking of speaking so it's interesting you know Nicky finished her sweater yes that's correct yes she did so she knit the sweater she did the rambling woman yeah from Kaitlyn hunter right and I actually had to call a lifeline because I have never staked it was a superwash wool and of course I called I did reach out to Christy and Christy had mentioned that her sneaking was always done in a non superwash wold correct so then I made a special call to Kathy at the knot house whose done was done several and she said you must reinforce your sweater with Serge knowing mr. song did she do it Nicky so Nicky is waiting for Susan I believe Susan who Susan laughs all to help her she's a sorry we're dropping yeah that's probably inappropriate a friend Susan yes it's supposed to help her with her surging okay but a very special thank you to Cathy hope you have really nice that I could pick up the phone and call you for advice so we haven't done that yet but as soon as we're all gonna stick at Dinah yeah two things that have to be on the list or sneaking this is 2019 and I rocks okay sticking and sucks and you know what I was going to say before was and I don't know if we would find this helpful we should both try to do it and see if it works this is what Christy lasted she made a list at the beginning of the year things we want to do of projects that she knew she wanted to make or I don't know if it was project she wanted to make enchanted yarn for she probably has the on but I think they were like 25 or 26 items on the list and I think if you write things down even if it was just a circle that I made Lucy you know when you look back at what you've done yeah it's like accomplishments also right you can see what you've done so what you've done and what you want to do and then you may you may go to e YF diner and you may add a project teal alright my god I've so many projects from last year I said I would finish my DuBose cardigan cardigan we was working on the others card again I need to finish this sir she started it against base yesterday and the way she finished her half mitered is she was on the sweater is Nitin in four sections four quarters for whatever you call it it's four quadrants she's on the third quadrant we found jealous but just because she's on the way wait but just because she's on the third quadrant she still has to do the fourth quadrant you start to do the saw leaves no the sleeves are done sleep but she still has to do sew the sleeves you pick you know you knit the bottom bound the bottom hands and then when it's a big front border it's a big front quarter so she said she would see if she could get it done for you I am I wish I could but I don't think I can't pull on anything yeah I want to finish the rug right that'll be very useful so in any of their sentence I would make a list of your projects maybe for the next podcast okay could make a list I think it's you know should do atop I should do type 9 now of things that we so yeah the words file do that okay cuz I really I would like to make a sweater but you know my problem it's like what color do you use another shutter I would like to make a sweater well I know but that yeah well well again there you go so what's gonna happen then I said well I'll work on the my should now but the weather is getting too warm to wear it so I have to make something else but making a list right dangling we talked about that making a list so we have two questions for you how many projects do you carry in your bag and the second one is as I started posting some videos on Instagram technique videos do you still want to see them and do you want to see them with and if you haven't seen them check them out I think what that's no no no I don't with sound or without would you prefer that I I mean right now it depends on the technique I don't like talking I don't I just think you need to do sound I think that well what the ones you've done we're no sound but again it depends you know I feel like for me showing the technique sometimes it's easier if I just go try to go slow I know someone said can you do it a little slower well you know what Michelle hunter said open it girl hunter she was a schoolteacher and she said to us at tienen a wants that you need to repeat something three times for it to second yes you need to do with every time listen how many times all of us that's happened just for going YouTube to look up a video and you look at it it's like 13 minutes well I am not watching 13 minutes now to see how to be like a son I'm not doing it well the other thing is is I've been actually taking videos of things that are what I'm actually working on what do you mean meaning I do it ababa like me it's like which is kind of fun because it keeps it very relevant to me in my work okay so where are our Japanese short lives so it's funny that you should ask because I was gonna cast on a swatch it's difficult because that you have so many stitches I have almost 200 stitches Oh see it's not enough times you do it I can do it I can do a swatch and do it but I but that's that's okay so what we want to see from Dana is the Japanese short row at some point that to be tomorrow at some point and we want to see you fix the cable welcome back anyway yeah when she comes back she'll show a little video of how she fixed this the cable yeah that's almost like doing I mean I had done it like on that right my AK sweaters that we've done I remember my yes for this day no ok well that again well that was easy to fix but remember the Jared flood one that I started for Daniel I screwed up the cable yeah and I said well I'm gonna drop this down it was a sleeve in the round and boys tricky well right I just should have ripped out it was just too many it was more than one was excited because it's different patterns too it's not just one not just talking at cable dropping down right so stay tuned so sound or no sound on those technical videos well that also leads us we were talking before the podcast about Danny was saying that she might want to do lights for the podcast new life new lights yes do we need lighting or and sound and I'm a new microphone and a microphone we don't use any of those things no I'm not very techy so if you guys have any advice you know my way that's what was it was it the gals that were here Laurie yeah Maureen Kate they said that what they were asking what we use you know right there was so much that we were back to podcaster like well where's your studio we're like odd cat ear where your lights there are no lights lights are in the ceiling those are our lights which is why we look washed out yes right anyway all right you guys it's time to go that's a wrap the cookies yeah yeah a coffee I do she have our Duncan she is dying a time to run we're going happy knitting or crocheting till next time bye [Music] [Music] [Music]
