Plowing Up a Field of Sod with a John Deere 9620RX Tractor & 10 Bottom Plow

Facebook at farmhand Mike hey everyone welcome back for another video in this video I am out at Briar farms near Attica Indiana with race and Jason himself as he is doing a custom job for a neighbor here mobile plowing up this sod field in the video you're going to see him plowing using his John Deere 9620 RX tractor pulling his 10 bottom John Deere model 3710 mulboard plow this field has been in sod for many years and the landowner wanted to tear it up and plant some soybeans here so he asked Jason to come over here and do it luckily I was in the area to get all the action for a YouTube video they let it dry a little bit they ran over this a couple times with a vertical till disc smoothed it out and planted this to soybeans two days later now before we get to talking about all the interesting comments I got when I posted a short clip of this on my other social media platforms let's watch them as he pulls into this field and splits it down the middle foreign does not do a lot of moldboard plowing but they do plow a few Acres every year when they need to again they would not be plowing sod normally this late into the spring this just kind of come up last minute and this is how it worked out now moldboard flying videos generally do pretty good on my YouTube channel they get a lot of attention a lot of comments and so forth and first thing I'm going to talk about because I'm sure we're going to get a lot of comments on this video I put a picture of this tractor and plow on my farmhand mic Facebook page did a YouTube short and some of the comments I was just blown away with but this did reach almost 3 million accounts had 8 400 likes on it 146 shares 506 comments nine sad faces and two angry faces I did not get to read and reply to all 506 comments but I read quite a few of them and some of them just blew my mind it's actually hard for me to keep up with all the comments on all the platforms I'm just a one-man show here and normally when you respond to a bad comment it just starts an argument I mean at the end of the day I'm just a guy here making some awesome farming videos I don't know why we just all can't get along and enjoy what I'm showing but hey I'll mention a few of the comments that I did get on there and you can always head over to my farmhand my Facebook page and read them yourself so here we go he's only plowing three inches deep why is he plowing if that was my field I would have sprayed it and no-tailed it the tractor sounds like it's going to blow up that tractor should be pulling a way bigger plow plowing brings sand up to the top of the surface all this field is going to wash into that pond you see in the background there we're going to have another Dust Bowl because this guy is moldboard plowing a field his plow's not set properly it's too wet to be plowing that field looks too dry to be plowing and I am the best Farmer in the world and everybody should Farm exactly like I do okay I might have made that last one up and there was probably many more that I just can't think of off the top of my head but anyways I hope this video on YouTube gets close to 3 million views like the Facebook picture did I'm sure it'll draw a lot of interesting comments one comment I do want to talk about though is why does he have a 620 horsepower tractor on a 10 bottom plow this is the tractor the farmer had free his other two tractors that he normally would plow with were hooked the Planters and this one was hooked to a tillage tool this was just the easiest one to unhook and hook up to the plow to do this job and that's actually a comment I've got on some of my other videos as well we can pull that same Implement with a lot smaller tractor Farmers don't always have a tractor for each tool and not everything matches up perfectly you use what you have personally I would rather have more tractor than Implement instead of more Implement than tractor it only took him about an hour to plow this field then he went over and did about an acre and a half piece across the road that was all weedy and it was actually chisel plowed looked like last fall I do have some on the ground shots the Drone shots here so let's turn this video over and listen to the sound of this tractor and plow in action [Music] thank you foreign tractor here has the Cummins X15 six cylinder turbocharged diesel engine in it the same motor that the big versatiles have and these motors do have a very distinct sound to them they almost sound like they have a little bit of a missing or if you go back and watch some of my versatile videos you'll hear the exact same thing I'm talking about there's nothing wrong with it that is just their distinct sound for that motor foreign [Applause] [Music] foreign foreign foreign [Music] [Music] [Applause]
