Plowing Sod with 1066 and 4 bottom Plow

beautiful Monday May 20th 2019 standing in a lush green field I'm about to turn it black got my 1066 got a four bottom Paul this is gonna be white popcorn I planned on spraying this and killing the grass early early and then trying to no-till this corn in here but for the time of the year it is if popcorns not gonna do very good unless we have a nice seed bed and this isn't a perfect seed bed I could no-till soybeans I don't want a no-till popcorn so we got the tractor out here for bottom plow kenny Schaefer @kn a trailer sales in Martinsburg hooked me up if you guys need a trailer hydraulic hoses anything go check him out he's awesome his daughter used to babysit me and I actually worked for him for a little bit in high school I rented the plow from him for the day I've got my tractor out here we're getting ready to cut some furrows we've got rain coming in so next week after this rain hopefully it dries it out mellows it out we're gonna disc it twice spread some fertilizer field cultivate it and plant popcorn shouldn't have much of a weed problem hopefully Oh No all right I'm still talking I want to drive tractor I'm gonna hop in here and get going [Music] [Music] the first cut which is always ugly and I'm a novice at this this is only the second field I've ever plowed so we went down one side and came back the other which throws this ugly hump that I'm going to have to this blonde and smooth out we'll have a little Ridge there but now we've got our groove cut and this tire right here where we don't have a duel on right there is going to ride in that so it's basically going to drive itself which is really cool if you ask me and it just kind of sits down there in an angle and as long as your first row straight the rest of them are all gonna be straightened you just make a big it's like a NASCAR race except you're going three and a half miles an hour um hopefully you don't hit a wall I don't see any walls does these plows are just grabbing it because we've got this Coulter here that's cutting a slit and then this plow is catching and it's just taking it and go slab work there's your grass it's turned over I'm gonna die here's what I was talking about your tractor tire just rides in this burrow it's kind of sticky oh crap which is riding in his burro and you've got this lip here then cut down so it doesn't want to hop up that wait it doesn't want to hop that way so as long as your first cut is straight you just keep following the same one look at that look how straight that is mmm that's beautiful that's turning over pretty good in my opinion I like it look at that [Music] [Music] you
