Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Is this really true? If so, that would mean that on average PS1 games only used less than 333 MB of the total 660 MB maximum capacity of the CDs. I thought games would've used most of the available storage space since there were even some games that used two or more discs (like Driver 2, Metal Gear Solid, and FF7).
But maybe there were a large number of games that were actually quite small and didn't even fill the disc halfway? Nevertheless I'd like to know how the source of this data.
It's interesting to see them bring up that ISIS scare related to the PS4, I had almost forgot about that. It was such ill informed nonsense. Here is a pretty good article on the subject http://ethanheilman.tumblr.com/post/133488739430/is-playstation-4-network-traffic-especially.
Gets technical but the TLDR is that it isn't hard to read PS4 network traffic if you know what you are doing.
I'll preface this saying that I really enjoy my PS4 and am a mild fanboy, but this wasn't that good of a DYKG.
This video mostly talked about the controversies surrounding the PS4, but there was a lot of interesting stuff behind the scenes involving the initial creation of the system. Good amounts of pull from parties that wanted to create a Cell 2 CPU for the ps4, and developers pleading to get something easier to code for. Or how mark cerny of Naughty Dog fame took up the helm to lead development of the PS4 and spent most of a year traveling to countless game studios asking exactly what they wanted out of a new system. Both never been done before as well as having a non-japanese lead console architect. Or how sony acquired smaller companies to just improve features of the PS4, like the buying of Gaikai for shareplay. Or talk about how they had PSVR planned before the launch of the PS4, leading to last minute design changes to allow for such a system, but they didn't know what they were aiming for exactly yet.
I could go on but spending half of the video on lack of a CD player, ISIS threats, and how the PS camera allowed room broadcasting through the ps4 was just almost irrelevant when I feel much more interesting stories can be told, and ones that can actually be proven, unlike spending a minute and a half on ISIS issues that have no proof at all.
Out of all these, I'm most shocked that it doesn't play Audio-CDs. Really?
Another interesting fact is that the PS4 was designed to have only 4gb of Ram. Adam Boyes was having a round table with developers and Randy Pitchford of all people said βIf you go with 4GB of GDDR5, you are doneβ. Which in turn made them expand to 8gb. At the time it was known that the xbox was going to be an 8gb machine.

Does anyone have more information when he talked about the white pillars in the boot up of ps2 having a relationship to your save data?
