okay hello can you hear me YouTube I think I am live hello hello it is I let me tag everyone on my server everyone YouTube livestream right now wait let's see him YouTube livestream right now right now here we go let's go okay hello everyone greetings welcome welcome to my channel as always hello coated I recognize you I recognize the first person who posted that's exciting how's everybody's day going so far I'll let some people get in here so what I'm gonna do I'm gonna practice my voice today I'm gonna do some voice e stuff how you look gorgeous oh well thank you so much I really I really appreciate that much appreciated I actually did my makeup today unlike usual but yes hello oh my god hi hello Valarie hello Michael but you look cute girl thank you hello Lorelai or Laura Lee Lorelai I guarantee right okay um hello my Vincent hello welcome everybody welcome to my lovely channel so we're gonna do all kinds of fun stuff today um it probably won't be a 7 hour stream like I did last time okay who of you here already we're here for my 7 hour stream be real be who has watched the whole stream let's hear it I'm a rehearsal so you can't hear anything oh that sucks but I hope you ever get your hustle and that the music flows and everything is beautiful and wonderful hello welcome everyone you were there perfect okay so we're gonna have a fun stream today as well so I'm gonna just start doing voice stuff I guess let me do it this way too so wait I guess I'll wait a little bit longer and let some people kind of you know flood in here and trickle in and everything like that but yeah it's a nice Saturday today is my first day off in like quite a while I'm really excited you share that I actually have four or five videos that I'll be releasing soon I filmed two or three days ago and I'm really really excited about the content that I made so I'm really excited to share that with you all I think the topics I am gonna release the art of voice Immunization part 3 so if you I have been a fan of that particular series and those have been the videos that help me the most I'm gonna drop the third one I don't want to say a date but I'll drop it soon ish once I finish it about to head to sleep Oh little is so lovely chatting with you Cecilia nonetheless I'll see you around of course yes I have a discord my my discord is based on my patreon so it is a it is a patron tear but my my active private students also get they also are in my server I'll just go ahead and yes my server is accessible let me just type that Lemmy's my server is accessible here okay so let's do some voice stuff okay so I'm gonna say a few things so first off we need to know a few terms if you're new to the stream I've got to share a little bit of info for you okay so let me hide myself over here while I come over here we don't want to uncover wait till you see the stuff I'm gonna do today it's gonna be so fun okay so first things first you need to know the difference between our one oh I'm clicking on their own thing you need to know the difference between r1 and r2 okay so when you're speaking you basically have two primary residences that are based on certain factors about your body we call these are 1 and we call these are 2 okay r1 is basically the lowest resonance of your voice it is a value that is created based on the size of your throat farik's and a back of mouth so the bigger that space is the space increase so when you hear a cell when you hear a sound like that that means that I made the space bigger back there okay and then r2 is basically everything like up here like in your mouth forward now of course this is a simplification it's a lot more complex than that especially if you really get into like the nitty-gritty acoustics of it all but let me go ahead and pull up a picture here for you just to kind of just so for the new people cuz I just want to do residents today and like really use the voice a lot but for new people at my we gotta define a little bit so you can actually understand what's going on so let's see here let me scroll up and find what I'm looking for doot doot doot doot throat to mouth no I can't find it I guess I could share my screen but that'll take a while so basically when you speak you have a cavity like this this is like imagine this superimposed on my mouth like this like my vocal tract so this is like the throat area here and this is like the oral cavity structure okay now the relative sizes between these basically control everything about your voice what your goal is in voice organization is to essentially raise r1 as high as you feel comfortable doing it as long as the sound is good while making sure that the voice doesn't actually cover or get blocked by a bad technique so we're looking for a good technique that raises r1 oh my god so many questions also from Australia welcome welcome oh your name is pronounced Mei okay gotcha I'll never forget that thank you so much oh I'm fine weird static coming through the audio oh it was myself um sorry I'll put my phone further away it was that uh phone reception stuff okay yes you're right I do worship the harmonic series so philia that is actually completely true okay so r1 and r2 are basically these cavities let me let me do this how long I need to be able to have my window paint hmm and I'll be releasing a video on this topic soon because I realized every time I start talking about voice in any server people will start asking me what is r1 what is r1 mean what is our to mean and these are just like the very very basic starting points to even discuss voice at least the way that I discussed voice so we're gonna look at them here we go vocal tract is that what I'm looking for oh not what I'm looking for I'm looking for window capture window capture new we're gonna capture paint with this window not Explorer paint okay so here we go so r1 and r2 so basically if you're looking at a vocal tract you'll see that they actually have kind of a a tubular shape no pun intended they have this little curve here well what ends up happening is acoustically this ends up kind of separating and being separated into two sort of separate containers okay now they aren't fully separate they are pseudo independent which I'll demonstrate in like three seconds hopefully if we can get to it so there's our one here's our two okay now of course this is a simplification technically there is an infinite many number of resonances inside of your vocal tract so we could even describe this area here as r3 if we wanted and r4 is like I'm not quite sure I think someone told me r4 is like a frat like a like a partial of like this area back here but I'm not hundred cents sold on that so but we have lots of different residences but the two that we are most concerned with manipulating for voice immunization is r1 and r2 particularly r1 this is what makes you sound male or female if this value is low it means that the tube is big and your voice will sound like that as the space back there gets a lot smaller as the space gets smaller back there then the r1 value will climb higher okay so enough of that stuff now that I've defined that I can also show it to you like this so here I have to do this again hold on to go here maybe go to paint wait bring paint back here bring it back Oh wrong thing hold on well oh my gosh wait stupid OBS okay so now I want to show you at this perspective too so basically when you have a voice will say FL let me go here and we want to send this out to you where is it nowhere it doesn't work it's just not going to show up really is that how it does it that's such a bummer you know okay hold on let me do it this way now I try to set all this up before I called but wait is there anything I need to not show stream Oh student info let me close that clothes right there okay we're good now I can show you my whole desktop okay so residents one back here residents - up there okay they have entirely different sounds are one sounds very throaty it sounds like so when it goes up and down who's going to like going like that kind of sound Mook down okay well let this on a graph later - I'll visually show you them so the sound of r1 sounds like this is a very dark and throaty pipe-like sound it sounds like you're listening to a pipe take a listen I will try to isolate our one here [Music] [Applause] [Music] and the other day if somebody reminded me about this method you can tap your larynx here that frequency there that's your resonant frequency that's the the frequency or the tone that's basically gonna be brought out in your voice that makes you sound one way or another so if you hear it slow really dark and if it comes brighter ah okay see I sound exactly like I just did when I tapped it right so that's our one we are always always always trying to learn how to manipulate our one I would say the overwhelming majority of stuff that you're supposed to do with your voice should be our one and that's also the hardest thing to change because it's the thing that we learn to do the least let me read some comments I've been going for a little bit hazy I use your techniques to feminize to help feminize my voice and now everyone says it passes best of all I feel way less self-conscious while speaking thank you so much you changed my life oh my god my little heart is still with joy I'm honestly so happy that I can help all of you in this way I know how much my voice mattered to me and so to be able to transfer that to other people I'm really happy about that wow that's really weird but kind of cool yeah exactly so that's our one so basically think about it this way when you pour water in a glass you know that the water takes the shape of the glass right that's like not even a question well that's because water is fluid right well why breathing air vibrating air is a fluid as well and so really what we are doing when we are changing resonance is changing the container so we can reform the fluid passing through our tube okay so you have to think that your sound is this whenever you produce sound is this nebulous field of fluid that's pulsing and fluctuating and when you stick that fluctuating fluid in a pipe it's gonna take the shape of the pipe just like when you pour water in a glass and it takes the shape of the glass am I going to turn this into a resonance explanation video for your channel you bet Jeff I actually filmed another one which up which will be a little bit more formal but the one is gonna be a bit informal yeah that was kind of my goal with this though el something hi I want to know if the tone is like I want to know if increase the tone is like the voice when you cry um I think what you're asking I could be wrong but what you're asking is when you cry is that the kind of tone of voice you want sometimes sometimes when people cry there are one goes up like from fire ah that's a higher one sound not too often watching your videos gave me a ton of confidence in how to make my voice sound the way I want to and it would sound right to people thanks well honestly that's my mission in life so I'm really happy you feel that way okay so I never bought that stuff now let's do some voice okay so I've got this set up here for us is gonna be exciting so in case y'all aren't woke on this concept there's been somebody who I really respect a lot they have built this incredible application which has been being used by different trans people and different servers and stuff which is a resonance tracker okay well we'll kind of use this I'll explain how to read this here to you in a second but we'll set it up like this okay so I'm gonna make some sound let me edit the settings on this hold up so I'm gonna do this so it's a little higher resolution make the lengths a little longer okay so I'm gonna just make some sounds and let's see what happens okay so first thing that we want to know is that each of these hot streaks are harmonics okay basically when you're making sound you don't just make one sound you are making a numerous amount of extra sounds think about it like a rainbow you're not just creating one color when you make a noise your nose you're creating an entire spectrum of colors you're creating the entire rainbow lots of different colors all coming out at once we call these harmonics okay and there are these lines and they are always in this pattern they never change away from this pattern and when we change our voice all we are doing is choosing which of the colors of our rainbow gets let through so let me show you what I mean by that if I go from male to female sounding oh you can see here that the bottom colors of my rainbow quote-unquote to continue that analogy they're louder they're really orange and the brighter I go the more feminine I become the quieter these ones become that's because this resonance here r1 which is the size of my throat is getting smaller and as the throat gets smaller the volume of the lower harmonics get turned down so you're basically taking the sound that you started with and changing it now here's how you can read this so this cyan line here is my pitch you will notice that whenever I do resonance exercises I try to keep my pitch as flat as possible the orange line in this is r1 I'm going to change the color of r2 right now to more of a reddish also we're gonna have red for r2 and I'm just gonna go ahead and turn off r3 and r4 for now you don't need to know about those so I'm just gonna change my residents let's see what happens [Music] [Music] now this was harmonic singing isn't that cool see how the reason why you heard watch so literally what I'm doing is I'm subtly altering the amount of space I have inside of my mouth and I'm doing something called a velar pinch which which basically makes it so check this out it makes it so r3 and r2 converge watch and I'm basically creating a super resonance which then allows me to easily show the harmonics to you okay this is what overtone singing is as well it's where you do basically well there's several ways you can overtone sing so that was overtone singing with my r2 but I can also overtone singing with my r1 ah it's a little less perfect though because as we change our 1 the r2 is always going to change reflectively unfortunately um ok let's see some comments here the application is Z is demoing right now oh let's see here 2 2 2 you have an interesting way of explaining things that makes it a weird amount of sense well that's because I'm describing natural things that exist in the universe that should be rational ah don't listen on speakers the applications he is demoing right now where can you download it someone post a link ID on the link right now but someone post it feel free to DM it awfully oh ok what would you say is the thing that influences your voice most to sound natural ok ADA great question so most of the time when people do these techniques and don't sound natural it's a myriad of features one of the biggest features that make somebody not sound natural is when they do something called covering now this should not be confused with the covering that people talk about in classical opera which is where they actually track harmonics and they and they like cover the the weak spot in the middle covering for me at least as it relates to resonance covering to me is where you basically flex your body too hard and then you kink the tube so that the air can't pass through very well anymore here's an example I'll start out very bright and then I'll cover so much you'll hear the sound will get dark here that I actually covered and reduce the space so much that the airflow is actually more impeded passing through the tube so the residents actually fell instead of going up so yes we want to shrink our tube and we want to be small but having a small vocal tract isn't all we're after we're looking for a small vocal tract but an open vocal tract we want the airflow to pass through we are looking for a geometric position of our vocal tract in which we have the maximum amount of space reduced with the minimum amount of disruption to the flow of air that ensures that we have a good open sound so that happens to you all the time yes that's called covering that means you're trying too hard there are lots of ways you can cover you can cover by pulling too far back and too far down which is an all cover that sounds like this ah that's like an all cover where the root of the tongue curls back and down and it creates this little bulge in the back of the throat which essentially blocks the air from coming around the tube there's other covers too there's a top of mouth cover many people do that like so that's a top of mouth cover where you basically are taking the r-1 and you've lifted the tongue so high that now you're blanketing the sound okay so all of these covers you want to avoid anytime the sound starts to get low any time it's like that you're covering don't do that okay so we're looking for an air and you can even hear covering an airflow so the ideal optimal resonance position for the highest possible and brightest possible resonance with the least amount of physical effort on the body is this structure I call this the absolute structure sounds like this that's basically a 1600s 1700s are 1700 are one where I have zero tension I'm not doing nothing like I doesn't even feel like I'm doing anything and if I cover it listen to how the air flow the stream of air gets disrupted that's a form of cover that's a form of cover that's a form of cover that's a form of cover actually that's a form of changing the tongue position of the wrong structure but still all of those are have you tried switching residents in a gradient in 5a oh I like that question how come I got retracted I was like that was a musical question with Poly rhythms and stuff okay let's see so that's what covering is you have to avoid that so that's one way that you can get your voice to sound a lot more natural listen to how how unnatural I sound if I speak with a covered resonance fire fire from heat like it sounds bright but it sounds chunky it sounds like it's got like that thickness to it that we don't want in the voice so that's covering you don't wanna do that if I don't cover heat from fire fire fire at never part poor pet pop pool Pete purr purr right you can hear I'm not covering so my voice is like open so that's what you're looking for don't cover let's see okay other stuff that sounds natural don't over press sometimes when people basically cover with our to get these kind of thing like this which is really really unnatural you don't want to do that kind of thing there's literally so many reasons that you could sound unnatural but those are the big culprits as it relates to your r1 structure okay very good will I post this afterwards alive yes I will absolutely I'm not trying to hide this information from people just know that I found all this information nobody taught me this you know I've just been doing researching exploring I've got some basic acoustics that I learned but otherwise I've kind of found it myself let's see you know I've worked with hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of trans women's voices around the planet and feminized lots of voices so that in combination with my background in acoustics and music composition and aural skills allows me to figure out what's going on with people's voices quite well the lasagna of residents exactly yes exactly very chunky thick interesting r2 didn't change as much you will get that here in a second hazy I've been working with the raising legacy from fire I've found the range of two things I found two things to continue with it to continue oh there's one after speaking a long time with the speaking of the long play starts to crack okay if your voice is getting fatigued okay you can have like a pretty good sound but not have the right structure okay so like this high heat from fire like this is not comfortable for me but yet it sounds okay whereas okay whereas this is a lot more comfortable for me and it sounds better and the difference is incredibly subtle but if I spoke in the first one all day I would end up tense by the end of the day and if I spoke in the second one well I do it all day and I work with my voice for about seven hours a day professionally so whenever I drink coffee I find it hard to maintain the same level that's actually really interesting there's some other people in chat who know a fair bit about vocal physiology but I would assume that has something to do with dehydration it's a what is it what's it called what's it do it dehydrates you so I imagine it may be is dehydrating your vocal folds which then is causing it so that your vocal folds are at a higher pitch so they're hitting each other more often per second which then in turn will might build more irritation if you're dry and if your techniques not that good and you're speaking with maybe a sort of forced closure or bit too high of a close quotient sound close quotient plus dehydration plus a higher pitch than you're comfortable with well can create cracking and which be irritation on the vocal folds so it just depends it depends on you let's see is there a download link for the program yeah it's not showing up hey Can somebody message me the download link on discord and then I'll post it I don't want to tab off and try and find it but I'll post it if someone sends it to me this age affect the voice later in life yes it does the voice is affected by age in a few dimensions the vocal tract length changes with age and some of the structures atrophy the vocal folds become a bit more stiff and since they don't have a tendency to move as fast through the stiffness we can think of the stiffness as a sort of increased mass which then in turn creates a lower pitch so as you age your pitch drops and as you age your vocal tract length typically shortens in male cases except for in the female case where the vocal tract actually expands because postmenopausal hormonal palate or the hormonal landscape and the female body post menopause typically is a much much much less estrogen and there are trace amounts of testosterone that start to be more present and make a bigger effect so there is a miniature larynx expansion expansion event or a Ferengi expansion event when somebody gets older if they're female so there's a bunch of other stuff too yeah like I said send me the link and I'll post it here I want to post it but I don't want to pull the link out look you see if someone sent it to me yet okay thank you I got it alright here's the link everybody this is the link for the residence tracker now I'll say this it is very very useful to practice with but it's only useful if you know what you're looking for if you're a beginner and you don't understand a lot of this stuff this might hurt you more than it will help you okay so if you feel pretty comfortable about changing you just want to play with it go for it but just make sure that you're not like thinking oh the Z said I've got to keep my r1 above a thousand Hertz and but yet when I say the vowel e all of a sudden I'm at 300 oh my god I never pass this thing is not going to tell you whether you pass or not this thing will tell you the values of your body well only the ears will tell you if you pass or not because that's what matters is to listen okay good how do you keep a local accent that's a good question so a local accidents got a few different components about it I mean for me it's more about the effects so instead of thinking about what I really want to do or really what I want to do with my mouth I think about how I want to sound what feeling I want to convey you know what feeling are what to convey to the person so if I'm looking for a particular feeling I can just switch into that feeling and kind of occu I'm not expert with accents I'm an expert with voice alteration in the regards to feminization but with accents and stuff I find that if I if I get too analytical it becomes very difficult and if I get very thinking emotionally affect this the way that that accent makes me feel the style of it the vibe of it then it then I can usually hop into my accents a little bit easier you're really thorough are you a Virgo like me what sign are you I am actually a quadruple Sagittarian so take that as you will let's see here I have to go can't wait to watch the rest of it later keep up the great work thank you so much yes this video we posted on my channel singing with this voice is a good exercise but I don't know what boys are talking about but yes let's see here thank you for the content living in a rather poor country it's a struggle to pay for any private lessons yes I'm sorry that my private lessons are so expensive I know it's cost prohibitive for a lot of people in other countries and stuff I just have about a 400 person waiting list right now so I have to set my rates really high otherwise I you know just yeah so let's see here I am about to hire an apprentice I've got a craft that runs a need to send out emails I'm gonna be meeting with some people tomorrow doing my I've selected a few finalists about five or six finalists to go into the interview portion of my apprenticeship and so hopefully once I have an apprentice I can start training them and then I can start having some individuals who have a lower cost or lower income status then they can work with someone who's a qualified voice expert in the way that I am in terms of feminization and learning through my techniques but it's perhaps a little less skilled and a little less in demand so that you know the the sources are more affordable that's my goal with that let's see Linux support unheard-of well that's our badass friend Chloe duh they are the bomb of course let's see if they're any good Andrea Android apps that you know of to use no I don't know of any good vocal training apps I meant as a trans way student you how do you avoid copying the accent of the teacher oh well we learn how to control residents and accents our particular behaviors of residents and so you kind of think about the voice occurring on a local level in a global level an accent is a global well I'll phrase that differently actually it'll make more sense for this particular discussion an accent is more of a local resonant event where on a phoneme by phoning basis there are certain events that are a little bit more different whereas a gender is a global construction of the vocal tract it is a definition a parameter description of the entire tube so when we are learning gender typically accents don't start to rub off now I will say I really like to use the rota size to English American are her I really like to use that as a way to teach the valar pinch and a t-chart to control so sometimes I do get students who speak non rota sized are such as my students in the UK or my students in Australia and sometimes it'll start to rub off but in their actual speech it doesn't rub off it just gives them better control I'm gonna do a little bit more residents then I'll take some more questions okay so this is the r-1 gradient and the key there is to see how r1 and r2 are moving linearly together right there locked in a pair gender will always behave like that if you go from a male sound to a female sound you will always expect the sounds to linearly and in a fixed relationship shift upwards if I have a male for example II [Music] so uh I wasn't reading the lower one that should have dropped lower you know well you know this is an application that's not perfect so it can only it can only show us so much but it is a very very good application to help so but what we'll see is that whenever I go feminine with any vowel we will actually see a significant shift let me get a different color for r3 I want something kind of not super noticeable maybe this will be cool Oh that'll be cool okay so for instance if I'm doing a vowel gradient let's watch it with the harmonics oh oh right and we can see that they're resonances are trending upwards which is changing the relative volume of these harmonics and that is why the voice is actually changing so we are changing the geometry of the body it then in turn manipulates the volume of all these little pitches that you generate that are called harmonics and depending on the configuration that you have you emphasize the harmonics and different patterns this is a vowel gradient where I move harmonic by harmonic up oh and what you also notice is as my resonances tend to trend higher the vowel will start to shift towards it ah okay the vowel at is basically your brains understanding of the higher R one and it's the sound that we should always be listening for in fact one of the biggest common issues that I see people do when they're trying to feminize their voice is they'll start to do the resident's exercise like this but instead of going towards ah they'll go towards the e like so [Music] if you're doing that I know I know it 110 people watching right now I know that one of you is doing that stop doing it don't go towards the vowel e okay I mean sometimes you can I don't want to make that a hard rule but generally speaking if you're doing voiceless r1 exercises meaning that you're using breath or you're using noise to hear r1 it should not sound like II listen I'll do the e1 this is what a lot of people make a mistake on like so here that the reason why people do that is because look what happens to the resonance Oh basically what's happening is you're hitting a biological point where in order to raise r1 further you have to use your oral pharyngeal closure but what happens is maybe you haven't learned that muscle yet or you're not tugging the right muscle but your brain here is you want to keep going up so instead what it does is it approximates the behavior of r1 by just shooting our two way up and then r1 drops so this is why if you're practicing the voiceless r1 exercise and you're going and you're going towards this e this is why your voice isn't feminizing I have seen students I've seen countless students get completely stuck at this particular point it is because as you shift towards the eval your R one's gonna drop meaning that you're going the opposite direction that you want yes something in the sound sounds like it goes up like you can hear its lifting still but that's because you're hearing the R to lift not the r1 lift okay very very good okay I'll take some questions now that was a nice little nice little resonance cuz there's so many questions I just can't I just take a moment and say how thankful I am that you're all here and how incredibly overwhelmed and blessed and so thank you all so much for supporting me it really honestly means so much to me it's a little overwhelming so I just love you all so much and thank you for being here also I guess while I'm thanking you all I should shamelessly plug my patreon support me if you would like if you would like more of these streams you want more content do hang out with me in my server you want to get voice feedback from me I have a patreon where I have lots of different tiers of different information and stuff so I'll just go ahead and share that because you know that's what a good streamer would do okay so please support me if you like my work thank you okay so let's see here where are we at due to so many amazing questions 400 people oh gosh that's why I'm having trouble reaching for a lessons yeah if you've emailed me in the last like month and a half you're deep in the waitlist okay I'm sorry it's pointless for us to message people back and go okay thank you you've been added to our list like that's just a bunch of manual it's a bunch of manual labor that we have to do like every day over and over so instead my assistant and I are prioritizing just like getting getting into the into the the cases so however I'm really happy to announce that I had a few goo students graduate the past couple weeks I'm about to take on about 10 to 15 new students okay I believe the waitlist is somewhere around November so if you sent me an email in mid-november or something you should maybe be getting an email back this weekend or at the beginning of the week but you know I'm trying my best to get through the waitlist as fast as I can people come and go and some people you know they were they wanted lessons three months ago and then sorry I found somebody else or you know they're doing something else with their voice so you know if you're deep on the wait list don't think that it's hopeless like we're gonna definitely get to you and your your your there on my list you know for sure but yeah definitely overwhelm with students at the moment let's see how do you make some male singers reach very high whistle notes probably a good question to ask somebody else I don't do a lot of whistle notes I can when I wake up in the morning when I have like edema and my vocal folds are very stiff then I can do whistle I usually can't let's try let's see no that's just for Seto I can't uh oh there was my read for a second did you hear what was that I never do that wait I've had it for just a second I don't know I I usually don't whistle I wouldn't be the person to ask for that I don't see why being male or female would change your whistles at all I mean as far as I'm concerned the whiffle the whistles don't even use a vibrating mass of your vocal folds as far as I'm aware in three or flajolet or a whistle it's basically when your vocal folds are so firmly squeezed together but they form a tiny little crack that the air then whistles as it blows through due to the turbulence of the whistle structure so this means that if you're male or female technically whistling shouldn't matter at all because what matters between the difference between male and female pitch is the vocal fold mass and if your vocal folds aren't moving then the vibrating mass isn't even taken into your equation so I don't think there's any difference between male and female whistles generally speaking the highest note I've ever whistled was a c8 I whistled the highest note on a piano once I've got our recording let me find it actually or maybe I was a b7 I don't think I got a CA on recording but I definitely did it let's see it sounds hilarious I sound like a teapot just like boiling over oh I'd also thank you all so much for uh sending me the link so I could post it in the chat for everyone okay let me see here search discord from zebra little zebra let me search for whistle let's see if I can find it I'll post the clip if I can find yeah I found it here's me doing a whistle register from F sharp 7 to b7 this is the most like a teapot I've ever sounded which is pretty pretty interesting okay so there's that oh let me get these questions going again okay uh no matter how hard I try to feminize my voice there's always a deep bass undertone is this resonance what is it yeah the undertone is r1 literally the tone underneath the tone is r1 so you'll notice that okay like even if I go to a high pitch and I have a low r1 here like I don't sound feminine really because my r1 is low it doesn't matter how hi I go if my r1 is low but I'm gonna sound but I'm gonna sound like a male and of course everybody has to do for r1 if we just start to shrink the r1 back up a little bit then we'll get something a little bit more like this okay so yeah if you're practicing your voice and you feel like you still have a darkness or a deepness to the bottom of your sound 100% the only thing it possibly can be is r1 okay you would if your voice was was was not progressing due to r2 or progressing to the vocal closure or progressing you to pitch you would hear it as these other values but the fact that you described it as there is this aloneness still present in my voice that means that your r1 is too low and you need to bring your r1 up okay Wow this speaking in a male voice erase voice feminization progress no it doesn't um wait uh I'm really trying to write no I'm really I can't do that I says today I had a day yesterday where I had a cool guy voices but today is not the day for me to do guy voice says let's see do you do I'm a beginner of what sharing the voice have problems speaking loudly my normal voice not being able to sing higher notes but it didn't really sound like your example with covering do you have small vocal cords folds yes I actually do have a slightly smaller vocal folds than average although that is not why I sound the way that I do and I've worked with many students who have extremely large vocal folds that are much larger than average and they can sound just as feminine as anybody else so if your vocal folds are big or small that is not a barrier for you to succeed and achieve your goals okay yes the difficulties that you face might be a little different what does the but but it's not based on biology what is the voice inside your head sound like has it changed since you started training your actual voice it didn't for a long time but then I actually spent about three months training myself to change the voice inside my head so now I'm happy to say that the voice inside my head sounds like the voice you're hearing right now if anything it sounds maybe a little more okay I think the voice inside wait the voice inside my head sounds a little bit more like this like a little bit more like an androgynous feminine or whatever something something around here is probably what the inside of my head sounds like unless unless I'm have a certain emotion it depends on what my emotions are that's what how my voice sounds really I try to let effect power the voice once you have good techniques you have to default to emotional effect that's really where the voice is all about okay spooked lol I called out with a voice yes that's right I caught you that's right Rene I knew it everybody does that this is good ASMR glad you liked it I loved here support thank you Wow wait that was a bummer I picked around there's been so many questions I can't keep up with him somebody said that was a good question away okay jeez hi Z I have it quite a deep voice but when I sing I tend to go in falsetto and sound odd I can also sing deep but just for you what should I focus on as a beginner to sing higher and more right well singing high doesn't make you sound feminine you can my god was that like oh my god that's like four hundred and fifty Hertz so there I am all the way at 450 Hertz hella sounded like a boy okay it's cuz my r1 was really low I did this I kept a very low wood so what is your priority when you start training your voice well it depends really it's hard to say without being in a more one-on-one situation with you but I would encourage you to start making healthy sounds work on sustaining notes for as long as you can not high notes just healthy rich sound once you think you have a healthy rich sound then take a look at some of the videos that I release it involve r1 exercises the voiceless exercise is probably the one that's on my channel that will give you the most result mmm practice resonance is what I would say we practice residents lots of different ways voiceless voiced r1 r2 watch this video because I said a bunch of stuff earlier that might be able to help you to that's a tough question you have any tips for keeping a feminine tone while singing a low/medium note yes and I actually love that question so much thank you for asking it the reason why that question is so poignant and apropos is because when you go to a lower pitch your rep your resonance moves relativistically let me show you what I mean so I'm gonna keep my r1 the same here on the chart so I'll go I'm guessing that's fourth harmonic yeah okay so you look one two three four so that was a fourth harmonic dominant tone a one against four against seven ratio 6h is what I'd call that I'd call this a 1 for 6h voice I bet this is the sixteenth harmonic let's see if my brains right one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve Oh twelve yeah that would be my other guess so so this is a 1 2 4 2 7 6 H 12 structure now if I keep my residence here but I start lowering my pitch what we can see now is that I actually just raised my residence I just raised my residence relative to my harmonics so at this pitch which is a slightly higher pitch I'm on the fourth harmonic here see how bright that is and then I start going down and all of a sudden now I've transitioned to a fifth harmonic tone now all of a sudden I'm on a sixth harmonic tone so what this means is that when you try to do bright residents at lower pitches you experience a significant greater amount of acoustic resistance at your vocal folds it's not bad for you resistance doesn't mean tension it just means that the signal literally becomes more complex inside your body and it's harder to sustain it sounds like this ah yeah this is like a really really high resonance but like a really low pitch kind of structure right and it's like bright so tips for learning how to sing at low pitches while maintaining the residents you're gonna have to conquer the sensation of that impedance I've learned to experience that impedance and I can lean into it based on sensation so if I'm like a-ha happy birthday to you [Music] write that one down there gosh we can't even that's not even get a register on this my r1 was like my r1 was well it's not there that's not what my r1 was it was like here ashore something like that is sure so or no I was on a new vowel so that is my r1 I just added that with an eval so you could have seen it but basically due to the fact that I'm at such a low pitch we end up getting all these crazy harmonics clustered together and the crazy harmonics clustered together creates a very buzzy unstable high complexity just into native structure which is much harder to sustain on so what I would do is practice singing down scales if you're if you're always is already feminine and you're just trying to feminize the pitch so that you can have it at low pitches I would recommend doing descending scales and trying to keep your resonance structure the same ah it's so much easier to go back up and so learning how to maintain your composure and maintain your structure of residence while you're actually shifting through to the lower more impeded signal is very powerful for that now I'm gonna order some food here I did that last time and then I ended up streaming an extra four hours after I've ordered food so let me get some food there's another thing see whenever your pitch actually starts to move around it requires structural changes in order to preserve sounds it's a really interesting property ok let's see here have you seen that little pool total debris Laurel - no I haven't seen the the mean for it but I can only imagine that the Meatwad voice training beam is terrible because the Meatwad voice is created by that like nurdle thing or whatever sort of we had a contentious discussion or not contentious we had a nice discussion about it last time we kind of tried to define the word but both of the little sound roar and that is actually one of the key things one of the key issues that a lot of trans women fall into when they try to feminize their voice so I mean could that voice help you learn voice organization and help you learn voice technique absolutely I have had students do that voice before to show them what not to do but in terms of it somehow being able to be leveraged into a feminine voice I would assume that that's not the most optimized approach towards voice feminization simply because it is actually training and encouraging a covering technique those little cover room took news remember all talked about covering you know it's a covering technique so we want to try and discourage covering techniques when we're actually practicing resonance using the advice in your videos has really helped great I'm really happy to hear that thank you so much viola you know I want to do a lot more of my videos I hope this video will be a good step forward and that my videos are a bit light on the how-to stuff so far for the most part and that's kind of an intentional I really wanted to get all of the the information out there first so then I could start talking about exercises and not have to for instance one of the reasons why I didn't make a YouTube video for a long time with like instructions on how to do this is because in order to talk about the instructions I'd have to say okay now your are one's got to do this and then I have to then make it make a part of the video that's like three minutes explaining what r1 is and it was just so much prerequisite information to explain before I even start doing exercises that I spent the first like year of my channel just releasing information about voice so that then it's on my channel and I can say if you don't know what this means go watch my other video you know it makes it a lot easier see it's a squeaky toy ooh whoo yeah that's true I am a squeaky toy perhaps an auto responder would be worth implementing for a new student increase yes true else--something but I also get tons of emails every day that have nothing to do with working together so I would have to I would have to make everybody have the same subject header to get an auto-reply and honestly I've got videos on my other channel that translates lesson mean there's so many videos I've made that don't have the instructions to email with a specific header that there is gonna be a ton of people who still message me and don't get the auto reply so then it becomes really a nightmare of like wait they didn't get auto reply to you these people did so I just think yeah there definitely should be a better approach for it we'll try to figure it out as we go well I think one of the most challenging part of voice training is practicing inflection any tips lots of guides are quite vague and how to practice inflection yeah a few things so I can't give you this but one exercise I like to give with my students is I take audio files of female voices and then I completely filter them down to nothing but their constituent sine wave the fundamental frequency I remove all harmonics which means the presence of resonance is no longer felt so it purely becomes listening to a melodic line painted by a voice here's an example of this I'll play some audio for you so I think it's really great I think this is the best way to learn contour is to work along and try to imitate and mimic files that sound like this which I give to my students here we go here's a female voice with just a sine wave no harmonics [Music] so I like to create entire like tracks and playlists of the very stereotypical cliche feminine gestures and that are just a sine wave expression so that there's no resonance influence at all and then I'll have my students hum with that or sing along with that and try to imitate it now of course you might not want those exact contours that's it's not really you know I'm not trying to get people to sound like that exactly but it's a social learning thing a fab individuals have these pitch contour inflection behaviors not because of a biological reason like they do for most of the r-1 stuff but the sociological reason where they are conditioned to talk in this capacity based on the media that they consume so it then serves to follow that we have to immerse ourselves another tip if you don't have access to the files that I give you can actually just make playlists of female YouTube bloggers you beauty bloggers and you know just different female content creators and just make a playlist and listen to that and don't actually listen very carefully to it just leave it on in the background and via exposure you will start to hear some of these melodies I think about it a lot like jazz okay when you go to play jazz you learn all this crazy theory stuff and then you learn all these licks that famous players learned like so like like buh buh doo buh buh buh duh but but like that's a famous like right there's all these famous licks right and it's not that you're learning the lick so that you can be a Charlie Parker copy but you learn the lick so you can understand where Charlie Parker came from and then take the lick in your own way right I'll demonstrate it with my piano my pianos not plugged in hold on I was thinking about playing some super smash brothers melee on stream what do you guys think about that okay so we want to think about pitch contour like we think about jazz melodies now here may not be a jazz er so I'll fill in the blanks for you but basically if we take a piano like this this is all in the content on the discussion of contour by the way or melody in your voice so let me get my piano loaded up I've got my piano plugged in waiting for sine waves beautiful and then piano okay so for instance if I want to learn jazz first I learned I learned chords I learned basics I listen to the music a lot that's the number one thing you got to listen to it to sound like that you've got to listen to it and that's true with the female voice as well so a lot of trans women aren't given you know the the the traditional female socialization so we sort of have to give ourselves it by exposing ourselves to all this content that was created by women for women right and so that alone is exposure therapy it's like listening to like hard bop and then you start playing hard bop if I start listening to cool jazz or whatever then I probably am going to mostly play cool sounds when I play so here's what a lick is a lick is just a simple little melt like melodic fragment like this [Music] that's called the Crimea River lick it's from this old famous jazz song and tons of players you know I use this lick a lot and basically we take a familiar pattern that's like the backbone of like what what's happening in the process right and then we can alter it in different ways so maybe instead of oh hello can you hear me hello did my stream die my computer like died oh I opened too much stuff at once I think hold on I have to reopen youtube it just crashed my stream just crashed wait hello can you all hear me am I still here present I hope I am can someone DM me on discord and let me know if I'm still here am I still alive hello please DM me on discord and let me know if you can hear this cuz on my end everything broke okay I'm still here good I'm glad it didn't break on mine thank you all very much for messaging me okay so I don't have to reopen the chat and everything like that so I can't answer any questions but back to the thought about melody so you want to think about it like you have these little melodic fragments that are like cultural things that have been learned and you take those cultural fragments and then you sort of twist them in your own ways and so we can do the exposure therapy to hear that we can create audio files that have just have melodies and learn the melodies and everything like that okay so those are the ways that I would practice I would recommend practicing pitch okay now let me go ahead and there we go everything's fixing itself now here we go wait go back to YouTube everything looks good still there we go sorry I wanted to do that demonstration with piano but I guess I have too much stuff open right now okay so that's how we think about melody okay um let's see here um cause there's so many questions let's see here you almost got a guy voice for a set um wait uh yeah I'll try and do my best welcome Chlo welcome welcome close the awesome human who created the application I'm using how did you train your internal voice well I literally just sat there and changed my voice inside my head and started talking to myself I would like to reset it every time I every time inside my head I started to clock my voice and it sounded gross then I would just like fix it just like we did in person with my actual voice just being a singer help yes although not always singers just so singers have really good control over their source the source being held the vocal folds behave vocal fold closure the air pressure the way the lungs work the way the vocal folds work singers are really good at that stuff and the resonance stuff they're OK at they do it intuitively though because they're just trying to get a good sound but the so I've actually had some singers who their background in singing actually hurt their ability to modify the voice in terms of trans voice simply because the demands of what is required to execute for trans voice really it's not that all similar to what we might do when we sing so now I do think that singers have a natural a better bill ability not natural its ability they learned through practice but they have a better ability to just create sound and just be more free with the voice in general which can help but sometimes sometimes you'll get singer students who are very stuck in their ways and they're like well my opera singer my opera teacher told me that by raising my lyrics I'll destroy my voice you know so there's like a lot of that too let's see um r1 it's the first veto oh yes indeed yes yes vocal charts residents I like that right now I actually had a little image here let me bring it back up on the screen I actually had a little image on the screen earlier I was the very first thing I talked about on stream was what r1 and r2 means so if you haven't if you didn't if you missed that the first time maybe go check that out because it is important to our discussion that's what I opened our discussion with today so check that out if you haven't seen it let's see okay more questions more questions see to me my questions this pleases my nerdiness hell yes how long of doing ha would it take to see progress well just by doing ha ie the exercise I taught in the art of voice inhalation part 2 just by doing that does not guarantee your voice is gonna sound feminine you have to make sure that your ha sounds correct if you do this that's not gonna get you to sound feminine because you stopped on a neutral act oh we have to go much further to sound feminine for ultra feminine so it's not as simple as just say say how a bunch and you automatically sound feminine you have to know why you're saying how you're making the H noise because the H nose is a voiceless sound which is spectrally rich it means that it produces lots of frequencies and it does not have harmonics which means that we can hear the resonance all of that is resonance bending and so you have to know that when you're doing that that exercise with your breath why are you doing it you're doing it because you're making the H sound so you can manipulate the shape of your body too and try to find the right structure the right sound which sounds like this and there's other approaches towards this you don't have to start from lately I've been starting with all my students starting from K instead like so I find it to be a much less invasive motion to go than it is to go but then again the lower one too the brighter one that's a complete r1 gradient whereas the ket is more of like a neutral mid to a a lift at r1 so and if we look at this on a chart the difference so let's go oh that's the equivalent of okay we end up hitting the ceiling here this is basically where we end up with uh well something very special now if I go from edit it's a smaller motion okay so it's very useful still nonetheless ah if I go all the way up with it it's a very useful motion it's just it's one it's like two harmonics worth to change instead of four harmonics worth of change that we get with the default r1 gradient so it depends on what you're looking for you know I use tons of different variations of this voiced voiceless phone based external physical impulsive based sound structures consonant approaches there's so many different ways that you can look at so even perspectives that you can track these behaviors with and so you're doing the noise because your goal is to listen to that noise and make sure that the resonance is not and absolutely make sure that you don't go you know that little silly e noise that keep recent huge issue like I already talked about that one early in the stream but that destroys your residents immediately wait where can I sign up on the waiting list for a lesson or to email me at trans voice lessons at gmail.com and it will be added to the pool ok so there's that question this pleases my nerdiest welcome ok getting French if you have experience do you experience less vocal range singing because of voice feminization no the opposite my vocal range has exploded because of voice feminization um yeah I've got a huge range now thanks to voice organization I will never understand what's in Axl Rose larynx or vocal cords asking myself since 89 oh and Axl Rose's lyrics yeah well he belts seat belts and he has really really tiny structure so that's well not into not biologically but such an interesting pedagogical perspective thank you very much do you have to get students or quit do you have students requesting help them doing their voices more deep in masculine yes yes dolly I do work with female to male or trans masculine students I also work with non-binary students who want a non-binary voice ie we work together and destroy any discernible sex based behavior from the voice I really love jobs like those now I'll be the first to admit I'm not a trans masculine voice expert I do understand the subject very well naturally due to its closeness to transform and eyes but you know is not my expertise but I do love helping trans mask voices I especially love helping trans mask voices who have already had a pretty significant course on testosterone and have a masculine have a deeper voice but yet maybe there's still these qualities about it that they pick up as feminine I like doing those more than I like you know pre pre t FTM voices I love all voices but pre T FTM voices are just a little bit more limited by nature it's much easier to reduce away at the space than it is to increase the space and so but yeah I love that and I love I love where he went non-binary voices I love working with people who bring me cases that are so out of what I usually do because then it's a profound learning experience but I have to make up and invent while I go and figure out new things and you notice how teaching works so you said you'd order food but you didn't oh my god Thank You Riley you are like my Savior thank you I didn't order food oh my god I'm starving hold on let me do that right now it's just I'm having so much fun I love you all so much and I love this is so great like can you guys believe this is my job like like really like can you believe this is like my job it's like so cool I just sit around and teach people how to change their voice and practice my voice and uh here we go I get five guys I think why is the delivery length on this so long right now wait that's not the five guys I normally order from did they get rid of the five guys I normally order from I'm gonna be so angry if they did what the heck hold on what do you guys think I should eat you ask me I should get Indian um Thai something more like local should pull okay I think I'm gonna get chipoltle a let's be real I think I'm going okay okay Chipotle wait no yeah what do I think to pull a Indian like a burger kind of thing or Thai or sushi could be an option I don't know let me know what you guys think I should eat and then I'll order okay let's see the lake is like a catchphrase yes exactly a lick is like a catchphrase and so we want to take like the melodies like the catchphrase melodies of female voice which are cultural like culturally disseminated there's not natural you know you're not just a woman's not just born out of the womb going yeah you know that's a 100% socially learned behavior now we could argue that that behavior became culturally reinforced due to a biological basis you know well whatever it was you could argue all kinds of things but nonetheless it's like a catchphrase that was socially learned and so you should try to learn those catchphrases and tweak them in your own way okay very good what about the lick oh yes of course the lick do that's actually a great example I should have used that example a long time ago okay yes de I would totally sub to your gamy channel thank you super based I think I'm gonna make it twitch and start streaming melee I main Falco Juneberry I am a Falco main in fact let's do this let's play a little bit of melee while I talk him teach voice I need to warm up a little bit so that I can crush everybody else that I play later melee okay let's see I'm a progressive medal or an occasional jazzer so I got you that's awesome Eevee did you know that I was actually in a progressive metal band that was actually fairly well known ish I guess I mean we were signed and we toured and stuff like that I actually grew up playing progressive metal and like deathcore and like stuff like that now I was never a quarry core person but I was really always in like prog metal and like my band always mixed like electronic music and experimental art with like progressive metal so that was like where I got my upbringing musically was I would just sit in my garage as a kid with my drum set that my dad bought me and then I would just blast beat you know I'd like do that all day but I don't do that anymore now I'm a lot more nuanced with my musical expression wow I have so much to catch up oh my god there's so many amazing comments okay thank you for answering my question I really appreciate it I'm really glad it was helpful could you upload a video of yourself teaching a student yeah I would love to I'll get permission from a student at first I was thinking no I had one of my one student recently suggest that to me so I think I will yeah I think I might release a public lesson or that'd be cool yeah how can I become your student please email me at trans voice lessons at gmail.com I have quite a big weight weight list at the moment but all emails will get responded to at some point production background really helped me I agree with that completely that's that that's like my you know that's my secret my production background and my ro skills background I've been obsessed with ear training my whole life basically since I was like 17 I started training my ear and production you know carving away white noise I used to do this thing where I would take tons and tons of strict filters and I would actually try to build a harmonic series out of white noise like I would take a block of white noise and I would try to reduce it so much to where it only had hope excuse my hiccups it only had like hold number values in it so it would sound like a sine wave with harmonics basically so wild okay wouldn't care lead to more of an S sound at first yes it does but you shift it towards a listen the goal is to work from the ad to the app I find that that approach actually stops people from going which is the big issue that most people have because if you go from AD to eat it's like very obvious it's very obvious that it's a front of mouth thing not a back of mouth thing which is what we want Haizi i just want to say thank you so much for the patreon voice seminar from a while back I've really made a lot of progress since then honestly I'm so happy to hear that and you actually just reminded me that I need to release the third part which was based on fricatives so after this I will release the third part to my patreon seminar that I did and of course actually now is a wonderful time of course people if you would like to support my work or you want to support me in any capacity or you you know please check out my patreon I hate to be a sellout and post it but you know that's my lifeblood so thank you all very much okay let's see will this video be archived like the music channel livestream oh you betcha how much time is it really made how much time does it take to make a YouTube channel really good I'll get back to you when my YouTube channel is really good I think that I do oops my bad accent clicked on my music um I think that I greatly greatly under underutilized how I could use YouTube in fact you're gonna see coming from me soon I'm going to start releasing more clickbait videos now I don't mean that clickbait like you're gonna get scanned when you click on the video but like I'm gonna create more stuff like Oh like voice like I've filmed this the other day let me know what you guys think about this I filmed a video where I steal beauty bloggers voices where I listen to their voice I steal their voice and copy it and then I analyze how I stole the voice and why how what their voice is the way it sounds like to me that's like clickbait t ish because it's not like voice organization and it like it like has like current events and current topics but it will allow the YouTube algorithm to pick me up a lot faster and I'll grow a lot quicker so I'm gonna start having a little bit of that peppered in between all of my content which i think would be a really positive thing it'll just be more like fun like more fun content you know so I don't think my YouTube channels really good I think that I have really really high level content relative to the rest of what's on YouTube like that's something I take pride in is like my content is like very high level content you know you basically can't go anywhere else in the world and get this kind of discussion relating to residents anywhere so um but I really under utilize the the social media aspect I don't have a Twitter I don't have an Instagram I need to make a Twitter I need to make an Instagram I don't I don't know so I could do a lot better with my YouTube but this is good so far I'm just so thankful to even have the platform to attempt this stuff okay let's see here ooh we stay in a funk non curry yes of course yummy your voice yes perfect you pulled Lego there's so much good food now order currently working on an offline not real-time speech than the sounds would be more accurate yes this is nice to have in the background look a wonderful clone glad to hear that disease daily life ASMR in the morning dew' voice all day typing in the toilet piano sounds preyas at the harmonic god that's straight up wake up lamb ped post on discord for about an hour and a half slowly get out of my bed my voice at that points mostly warmed up just because I'm awake take a shower get straight to work I usually see about five trans women a day or you know it can be anyone non binaries to whatever it just if anybody goes but I typically see about five students a day and then get off work make some music try to edit videos try to teach post on my discord server hang stuff Chipotle's garbage that's a hot take Mary yeah this is well that's it that's a hot take I don't know okay I would love to make a career out of something translated I never anticipated it I thought I was going to transition and then move on from the trans community and be stealth and never no one will ever know I'm trans again my hot I'll be such a such a move you know that's kind of what I thought but I just realized that's just I don't want to do that I like helping my community this is the community that I'm part of and no matter how much I pass or have a bunch of stealth or whatever I'm still a trans woman you know I will be till I die nothing's going to change that so it means a lot that and no one else is going to help our community other than us it's up to us to empower and lift up other trans women so the end trans men and trans people and gendered on binaries and gender non-conforming x' and anybody anybody who doesn't feel like they fit what societies tell us we're supposed to do you know I love all the people I myself I'm actually kind of non-binary like internally you know I case you don't know that so I mean I definitely you know she hurt for sure I'm a girl but at the same time uh I just I view myself as like sex female but like genders not real well it's real but it's not like real real you know so like I don't know whatever genders giant confusing thing to talk about so let's see Indian food okay now you'd order food a 15 year old Brazilian boy how can I self do it no I can't be your girlfriend you are a child I'm almost 30 I would never ever ever ever ever ever be comfortable with anything remotely like that how can you self do it record yourself you can download there's some apps for free on the App Store there are looping apps where you can sing and then it'll loop back over and then you know you can you can sing like that yes will you ever do videos on how to really ever do videos on how to do countertenor singing yeah yeah that'd be really fun um yeah absolutely I think I saw the nurse comes hot yeah you see that make my yeah that's what I was talking about Kelsey wants me to make her voice lessons public so I think I will I think that'd be really cool by Nick it was great to see you I hope you have a great rest of your night oh you can't stay long but you help every time oh I thought you were leaving already okay but I hope you're good senpai Kerry Oates Emmanuel Villanova simp I notice me my comment this is me noticing you really really intensely I'm noticing you with all of my focus okay hopefully you've been noticed dear I lost haven't fall so deranged after a tonsillectomy made it 34 Jesus that makes no sense umm I think it could be from Farex damage probably not because your vocal range isn't dependent upon the vocal tract so if you got like structural damage to the pharynx or something like that then it shouldn't affect your pitch the only thing maybe the tracheal intubation because you were put to sleep so well you probably weren't intubated either duh that wouldn't make sense to have you intubated so I don't know why that would happen it shouldn't happen I would assume that behaviorally you could remediate some of that and bring your range back to where it was it's hard to say without knowing your case oh my god that's crazy I know I D had a programmer background that's so awesome if you love prog metal yes I do love it oh I know of all about Tigger and Hamas you know he's cool transferase chen notice me notice you again hell yeah sister yes so let's get it on the click it click it where can I find this analyzer you use and see it's great Chlo made it I I linked it before I'll link it again oops I had that call me face it I swear it wasn't trying to promote my patreon again I swear I just try to the like okay let's see it's actually so funny to do there we go thank you all for messaging me telling me that my stream is still alive I had like a weird little file break okay here's the link I got it back here's the resonance tracker I'm using and the person who made it is actually in chat they are lurking somewhere working on another application but really though cloak how much do I go to how much money I got to throw you to build that that drawable resonance curve with a visually scalable harmonic structure I want that so bad okay let's see here please that's actually an awesome title will definitely gain traction thank you I'm really excited about the whole stealing of voice thing yeah so it's like 20 styles but from voices yeah and exactly and I do on the spot it's not like I pre plan it you know I just listen to the person's YouTube and I do my best in that moment to copy their voice and tell them why it sounds that way I love your energy great well thank you I'm happy I love you being here I really appreciate it too broke to afford patreon lessons your YouTube is my Savior well that's totally fine you don't have to give me anything I'm just glad that I can give you something hola welcome princess Alana amen yes gender is real but it's not realreal yeah I caught me on that like when I'm dead and like y'all are like mourning me and my funeral I'll be by the way I'm not dying anytime soon I'm allowed to be like I want to live like a hundred and ten year old bitty you know some old lady hobbling around with an awesome voice and just like doing all kinds of crazy stuff building I want to build a harmonic temple when I get older I want to build an entire building that is structurally tuned to a very particular low resonant frequency and then I will create harmonic structures inside that building tuned at hole number of ratios of my reference structures that the container of the room is actually vibrating in so then I will allow myself to have as close to possible a static pressure structure so I will literally be able to sculpt the air and I can sculpt the air right now like this is an air sculpture on the blaster ears to the near sculpture like this is a beautiful beautiful base frequency this is a beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful air structure but well it's not gonna play it's just gonna it's just gonna crash and lock up like that oh it's working wait it's not gonna work it's gonna work it's not gonna work it's not gonna work okay I'll play it a second but like so I why harmonic tempo so just imagine me on like a hundred hundred years old I'm like four foot eight because I like had so much osteoporosis I'm tiny I'm like hobbling around in my harmonic temple I go out to my harmonic temple and I sit there and I build the most beautiful complex just insanity structure in the entire room is a geometric sculpture of air pressure that is like my my ultimate dream and I'm just so happy that transitioning and gaining more peace with my body has even given me the ability to imagine myself as an old person you know I think before I transitioned the idea of making it past 20 like eight twenty thirty it was like impossible so now it's much more possible cute laughs game on let's go okay I would send the link but YouTube blog blocks yeah I posted it no worries everybody's got it let's see I'll post it again if anyone requests Oh sheriff er got em assists on my YouTube account oof that's okay that's good 46b okay item um ah my oh I'm on my team can I see her saying I see her saying okay let's see here uh key both Harburg thank you you're almost 30 you look amazing Jesse why I ain't done just you wait I'm gonna keep leveling up we're gonna keep leveling up what are your thoughts on nikkietutorials I actually she is one of the voice hello guys she's one of the voices that I copied in the video I filmed the other day so what are my thoughts on her I mean her makeup looks not my style she's kind of very very dramatic makeup looks very glam I think she's an awesome youtuber I mean she's probably one of the most influential beauty bloggers on the entire platform which is mind-blowing and I totally stand a queen who comes out and owns it so I love that she's awesome okay good is he really one support no I don't really want support I accidentally posted it just to drop it and say love I respect what you do for people thank you well I do want support but I don't wanna ever beg people for support I'm I'm this is I'm good I'm stable you know what I mean do you speak any other languages if yes how is the process of voice minute so I speak very little German a little bit of German I envision not so much but I can I can typically have a mild conversation with somebody in German and I can read German fairly well voice feminization as it relates to other languages is quite different structurally though the different the biological difference between a male and a female vocal tract are pretty consistent across the board of course sex is a gradient so it's not like oh you're male so you have this structure oh you're a female there are lots of male individuals with female to like structures in the vocal tract and there are lots of females with male like vocal tract structures so it's not even about sex it's a lot more about hormones and a lot more about tissue configuration and so the how yeah so different languages call for different special sort of uses and for the most part us all the same are one's got to go up r2s got to go up but the certain certain behaviors like fringe particular you has a look has a lot of dislike curved out lips and so for a French trans woman she would want to take that behavior and then nullify it a little so she would have a little bit less you in the voice and it's not necessary because as long as you have oropharyngeal closure and you've got a higher one around like a thousand Hertz mmm I can push my lips out as far as I want and sound normal right but there are certain subtle differences German voices are typically lower r1 and have more blur like a circularized structure in the back and so working with so many different languages and cultures I've heard with people in Japan and China in Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh and India and Iceland the UK obviously all the Europe countries are really obvious worked with some people in like South America around there she'll a Brazil I've worked with an African student like maybe like I mean like like like in Sudan which is crazy I think that's that's probably like to me like the most like anomalous anomalous case I've had but no you know I've worked with students all over the world and so I've learned a lot about what certain languages do certainly basically the languages you grow up with is in a set of blueprints and instructions for the behavioral modifications that you do when you're using your vocal tract so certain languages may have better or worse behaviors that can help her hurt and so we adjust and we slightly alter what we do for different languages but generally speaking the core concept is the same dear you made what many doctors and professionals never made thank you I really appreciate that a lot if there's anything that has so when I was younger so I've degree a music theory and Composition and when I was in school I was very much like an academic and I was like of course academia so so rigorous and so wonderful and thing to give the answers and it's the research in peer review and I love all that stuff I mean I'm an empiricist so I always will love it but I've learned a lot in my life that the best answer is and the best solutions aren't always in academia and especially in trans voice like I'm very confident in saying that I have the best trans voice technique and pedagogy in the world I'm confident saying that if anybody wants to show me another case of someone who has sort of advanced it as much as I have I would love to see that but that being said the speech pathologists have PhDs and they charge more than me still to this day and they don't even know what they're talking about I started reading their books and their books are garbage I have actually read the other day I went through I'm actually I'm thinking about making a YouTube video critiquing one of the comment I guess am I messed up my eyeliner but I was thinking about making a YouTube video critiquing one of the most commonly cited voice books in the speech pathology literature it's garbage it's terrible like there's like 80 exercises in the book and like five of them are for resonance everything else is like all this other stuff that's like filler it's like it's like all filler and like two things about resonance that might actually help somebody remotely so and these are people with PhDs who are supported in academia supported in the institutionalization and who like go out and say like hold you got to watch out for DIY you could really hurt yourself like oh you know when they charged exorbitant amounts because they're writing checks to ensure answer because insurance is writing them blank checks and stuff so it has left me very disillusioned with institutionalization and academia now I am always going to be an academic and of course eventually I will publish all the findings that I've created here in some academia in some form of academic prose you know but it's just it's really taught me that there's a lot more to reality than what we learn in school you know okay let me continue on with my thoughts um oh gosh there's so many I'm gonna skip a few questions so I can get back to like where it's live harmonic temple yes glad you like that I didn't order food no I'm sorry shoot I need to order food I didn't you didn't save me from starving because I forgot to order food hold on I'll do that now do you have a let's play account no that sounds cool though what's your favorite air sculpture or building thing oh yes what's your meat what is your favorite air sculpture Billy think I'll show you exactly what so now unfortunately buildings in terms of acoustic environments I have a few that come to mind in terms of acoustic structures let me show you let me show you some of my favorite so here are some beautiful beautiful acoustic acoustic structures let's see I really want to play where's it at I think it's a tri decimal color yeah here we go I got it wait try decimal major seven sharp fifteen quintal evo that's exactly looking for here we go so here is it really I don't want to get into music theory because I find that I already did a music theory stream on my youtube channel my other youtube channel the other day so we'll keep this about mostly voice and stuff but here's a beautiful sound [Music] that's one of my current favorite air pressure structures that is the air pressure relationship of 26 against 39 against 58 against 66 in 74 against 98 against 111 now I know that probably doesn't mean anything to you but if you want to see it it's this it's this structure here and I call this a try decimal major 7 sharp 15 voice quintal eie it's basically doing like a fifth approximation motion and since it these are all of the sense of the cord and yeah so I know a lot of that probably will stick to you non-musicians but for those who are musical they bring the pitch back up so these are just intended structures you're basically hearing special chords these don't exist in normal music these are my favorite sounds in the whole world period there's nothing that I enjoy more than a good good good just in sedated cord there's just none here's a beautiful pencil minor 11 with a falling kama [Music] what's the geology Oh metric part okay so look normally when you listen to sounds or pitches or four chords and stuff you're hearing frequencies that are irrationally superimposed these ones are whole number ratios you're literally hearing pressure relationships into air like for instance this sound about that I'll try to explain it I don't wanna get too into this because every time I do my viewership drops okay so here we go this is what I'm about to play for you let me do it this sound okay this is a five against four ratio if you could examine the air now of course I'm wearing headphones so it's a little different but if you could examine and this coming through speakers are coming through an instrument and you can examine the air you would literally see four pulses of pressure superimposed on top of five pulses of pressure it is literally a four against five frequency relationship and it sounds like this now here's what our pianos give us if I try to play this exact same thing but on a keyboard it sounds like this here out-of-tune that is here's what nature gives us here's being out of tune on the keyboard okay so basically there are lots of ways to create different sounds and I like to create sounds by choosing perfectly structured ratio patterns of air pressure so I define so it's a it's a geometric structure because we're actually referring to the ratios proportions lengths and size I'm defining the behavior of the air I'm defining the behavior of the air and saying look I'm gonna have this many Paul pressure pulses on top of this any pressure pulses and the relationship they have will be this relationship okay so that's why it's different how do you raise our one aside from raising the larynx well racing r1 is several things so it looks like this if we do it with pitch there it is any vowel gradients which here it is with a single vowel [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so there it is on the vowel e you can raise our one with like really any sound it's always present and sounds but basically our one is controlled by the tongue root position so we want to pull our tongue a bit back the tongue elevation we want to put our tongue sort of in the we kind of want our kink our vocal tract so instead of it looking like this which is kind of what we had what we are starting with we want to kink it so it's like that basically okay and we have a bigger mouth and we have smaller throat so our one is raised by that our one is also raised by I made a video of this the other day but or a friend show closure see that now we can do that with the tongue going or without the tongue going but basically to raise our one we pull the tongue up and back like that and then we close the throat Oh from fire okay that's what you're looking for there all those things change our one there's some other ways to change our one to know there's a little epiglottis things and stuff like that but generally speaking raising the lyrics is the path of description of the process it's actually you don't think about I'm going to raise my lyrics and then you raise your larynx you think like I'm gonna like move my tongue I'm gonna move my oral fax and it's gonna raise my larynx because it has to so well does it have to but usually does okay let's see here oh very big brain oh thank you uh think you saw that when will your music theory book come out good question I've been working on it a bit lately actually check this out so I you guys are gonna laugh at me I'm such a geek okay you guys aren't gonna laugh at me if I would Keith right I don't think so right hopefully not check this business out so last night I actually started doing a bunch of work on my book I've got a book it's essay I'm doing an essay on wait let me do this writing I'm doing an essay on my music theory my Jes intonated approach and here it is I was working on it last night yes this is the writing terminal I use I know I'm a super geek it makes me feel cool but so I was just working on some things here macro harmonic structures and basically it'll it'll outline the way I use my destination structure and it'll lathe off the process and then it will talk it'll it'll walk the student on how on how to use Justin's nation in the way that I do and then it will also define the idea of macro harmonic structures and then I'll give examples of them and then I'll render the macro harmonic structures through the prime modal systems which I'm writing about there and then of course talking about interval approximations and the explanation of why I use prime numbers for this process instead of the other ones factoring behaviors the names for all the primes harmonic try prime will pintle acceptable in decimal try decimal Sefton decimal novum decimal advise and more tercio try some o primal try sesamum or septal now these ones I'm still questioning there's one here I can't find a good one 429 unfortunately so I'm still kind of working on that part then I did the first four factors of every single prime number up to 61 these are really important because the first four factors basically give you octave fifth octave which is like the fundamental backbone of music so if we repeat this structure at a different prime say 13 to 26 here everything between all the numbers between this are now going to be unique ratios that are like basically a digital read a vision of the harmonic octave it's very interesting and then of course some other stuff so I started working on this last night got some thoughts out which I'm really proud of because I've been trying to get some I've been trying to get this essay out but I've been having trouble getting the pin going so last night I buckled down and I'm pretty proud of what all I wrote last night so it seems pretty good so yeah let's see here yes writing music theory and a terminal looking esque matrix a window is impossible not to be able to feminize the voice I don't think so I mean sure everything's possible right yeah but I mean I think with good training and as long as somebody is physiologically well heck you don't even have to be physiologically fully accurate you know like I mean I worked with students who have actual deformities of the vocal tract and they can still been able to feminized the voice so I don't see I need to order food now for real something really yummy pizza you know I actually haven't ordered pizza in like ages ages age I mean it's been ages ages since I've ordered pizza mmm I don't want to none of that pizza looks good though hmm let's see maybe pasta let's see here so we're all pianos are slightly out of tune oh hell yes absolutely they are and yeah exactly what you said moniker they take the power of two and up the octave and and basically it's like it irrational like it's like an irrational root like it's like a twelfth twelve-tone equal temperament is literally the twelfth root of two like who's all that was a good idea it's so stupid that means if you looked at the air pressure then then like the the the air pressure would never close it's just it's based on a rational ratios it's like buying a desk from a carpenter and like the ends aren't flush it's actually like falling off the edges and stuff you know do I have perfect pitch no I don't but I have an insanely good scent hearing I can hear things down to about five cents so if you play an interval I can say that sounded like six hundred and seventy five cents you know and I'll typically be give or take five plus or minus okay I'll something okay yeah I three blue one Browns really cool I haven't seen my particular video but I love it I laugh at myself because I'm a geek yup I'm also a geek I love you sis thank you I love you too how much appreciated hi Fiona I wish I'd seen this livestream a little earlier don't worry it'll be up on YouTube so you can always watch it I'm starting to be afraid of you you call yourself a geek and you are he fits you see true well we're still alive yes we're still alive and I haven't gotten food you are so smart sometimes it depends on what we're talking about thank you for the guide as well oh yes of course yes adalah stuff is easy stuff yes indeed well some things a wonderful friend and coke patriot I guess I'd say and a former student of mine or maybe current student who knows I haven't looked at my calendar okay I might be really silly but I'm also interested in how to raise our two it's not silly I was going to talk about that our two that's the sound of our to raising whistling is our - my lips are really dry one started whistle right now but whistling shows you are too is as well are too is like that space there it sounds like [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's hard I really I need to find a new I need to invent a new technique to go beyond that the xvi partial is very hard to harmonic seeing up to well you've been somewhat pitch trap but that's all our two by the way so if you're watching and you're like what program and i using i'm using this amazing program that a lovely person in chat made let me find the link again i've posted the link a few times is it still copy pasta let me check no it's not pasta hold up let me go up and find it here it is oh no wrong thing here we go here is the application i'm using it was made by a wonderful community member there you go i listen to a voice clip from a year ago that it's hard to believe is on the same person i feel you there my voice here i'll sure I've played my dead waste before on stream it's not that cool i don't do it again it's I mean I will if people want to hear it but I've already done it a few times so it's not that cool um let's see god I'm so starving but I don't know what I want to eat this sucks that place looks really freaking good what the heck what I think I found what I'm gonna get oh I don't know though oh yeah okay uh oh grilled chicken wings what they make those they make those grilled chicken wings that's crazy Chipotle you're right I originally felt Chipotle but but this place looks pretty damn good I won't live specialty pizzas maybe I'll get a pizza Pizza sounds kind of good you know it to be true you're right you're right Chipotle has got damnit I didn't ask for this that's not the path I asked for it's the path that was thrust upon me by life let's see I actually really want five guys but it seems like the five guys that I ordered from back then is not the place that they have now here we go so there we go there's that hella spicy salsa chips in case though and we're done so okay now I can move on and get back to the things that really matter like sound not food and and sustenance okay let's see so yeah how did you learn to control the Ferengi lols by chasing sound and chasing comfort I made sure that my body felt as comfortable as possible and then I chased and raised the harmonic up or the r1 up above the harmonics like so all that stung position but in order to do that you have to learn to squeeze your throat or the walls of the pharynx like that so so basically I learned to hear it and the sound the sound is always the guide for all of this it's always the key it always should be to the technology these days I want to hear this clip you're genuinely interested sure grilled chicken wings I know I should have did grilled chicken wings that's okay Chipotle is gonna be super bomb and super fire anyways I've got this really spicy habanero mr. Renfro salsa which I will probably put on the burrito to make it like extra extra kick II you know what I'm saying although I love how they I like to put the I like to ask for the queso and the red spicy like I like to get the spicy salsa plus the queso that's so good don't you even come at me with that okay Dead Boys my boy voice boy voice I think I'll find it here we go high voice my voice che I was gonna play a song on stream but it'll probably get flagged by you - I want to listen to this artist I've been listening to a lot lately call her names now na oh I don't know what pronounce it but she is amazing and I love her music and I want to listen to it right now but I'm on stream so instead I shouldn't listen to it okay there we go that was funny I saw some funny things on the server okay here's my voice so just so you all know cuz here's what I sounded like when I first started training my voice this is after 3 months of voice training ok now there was not information out there there was no transferase lessons to learn from so this is what I sounded like actually it was more than three months this was like how many months in it I can't remember like six months 7 months so just so you know you are not doomed here is me trying to sound feminine like six months in classical thinkers employed classification has a way to define and assess the quality of poetry named poetry Oh and my r1 solo I'm spouting like this this is a common voice that people run into when they try to feminize their voice this voice has a high open quotient a good pitch but a low r1 and so what I would have to try and do to change the gender of that voice is a raise the r1 back up and then we end up sounding like this so that was after a little bit of voice training also somebody said wow you reach a thousand I can only reach 750 um you mean frequency or a resonance watch frequency I can reach about 1,300 yeah about 1,300 dead on actually resonance wise I can reach our one might Marwan has anywhere between a 200 Hertz window or like 150 all the way up to like 1700 like so yeah so I covered there that's why I got darker but so you know out 1600 1700 on some days so my are while you go from about the 200s up to the 1700s my r2 can go from you all there's our two so about 300 up to about 4 k e peaked at 3500 that's a really hard barrier that's where my r2 bit barrier is right now not that you would ever need that for speech or from voice ionization for voice organization 3500 r2 is like come on that's that's like too high but nonetheless that's the range I have with my resonances uh please give us warning ouch my ears what did I do oh I I sang really loud didn't I do you think you can sing in soprano mezzo-soprano yeah but I don't think those words are like real you know those words like describe particular stylistic intersections of biology and education and it's kind of a little bit more would it be possible to put a compressor on your voice that's a good idea yeah I'm sorry the vault volume fluctuations are a bad I apologize for that I can't put a compressor on it right now but I can promise you I can promise you next time I stream I can compress my voice let me just double check let me see I don't think I can use a compressor on OBS and I don't have my audio going in through something right now so yeah sorry I can't do that now but I'll do that next time that's a good idea I'll start doing that then I could play with reverb and I could really sing for you see I hate singing on stream like musically unless I've got other stuff going on only cuz acapella singing and my dry room sounds really bad but put a little bit of reverb on and then all of a sudden was like wow amazing you know so reverb really makes a huge difference let's see have you analyzed a fart yes I actually made a dubstep song in 2011 where I took the audio file of my friend farting and turned it into a dubstep bass I don't know I did that but I did it oh my god that's funny oh my guy boys that's what I was looking for so there was my like stupid bad poopy boy voice or not poopy boy voice but my uh my voice before I got good with it you guys all heard that it sounded terrible you guys all heard it so you know that I didn't just I didn't just start sounding like this from the very beginning let's see um Oh has a link clip here we go okay so here we go my boy voice my boy voice what did it sound like greetings and welcome to my favorite something like that but I can't do it the way I used to do it hold up here we go oh I'm coming up on it hold on sorry about the volume fluctuations again by the way let's see happy birthday keeping it together with an ad not what I'm looking for not what I'm looking for all these are really good oh here we go here's a few masculine voice files I did these this was this isn't even my dead voice I did this like five I didn't like nine months ago I woke up and had a good guy voice 403 clip not found excuse me hello 403 excuse me clip not found oh I don't have permissions hold on let me change my clip accounts I have to get permissions for these cuz they're my boy voices wait I want to hear them so bad no there we go is this it still no permission granted what what account was the song so it's not on the Emilia account is it on I bet it's on this one I know where it's at here we go I'm gonna show you guys some crazy voices nope what's wrong password gosh darn it voice lesson password invalid email or password Oh maybe it's I can't find it darn it there was some files I really wanted to play for you all which which I find a hilarious and I find really really fun to look at and listen to but I can't find them so here is my dead voice I can't find it I thought I had it is this it alright so what does this voice sound like to you no this is actually it's just me trying to do joy and mask and run feminine pitch mannerisms it's slightly brighter but at the same time it kind of has like a masculine quality to it I think it's somewhat androgynous it's really interesting voice actually I hadn't listened that clip in ages huh interesting what's this sound thoughts on this voice what is this sorry so what does this file that's the same voice hold on I don't want to click on that what about here what's this mm-hmm so I think that the oh darn it I tried to get masculine there so those are like practice like me practicing oh here's a cool audio file this is so I've been invited been trying to create a bi tonal polyphonic androgynous voice technique I think it will be really cool to learn how to do really well dip Lefou ouch my ears gosh I'm so sorry friends so yeah a dip lafon ik technique check this out I want to be able to delete gender by creating two pitches at once and modulating it this isn't perfect this is a little like play around file I was experimenting with but check it out by tonal thing I actually wonder if this is a way to create a type of androgynous voice which can actually be heard of a third stream kind of voice rather than a binary gender voice I think that if you if you I think that I think that if you speak in the and like a mid vocal range like that and you actually Wow so I actually have somewhat bright resonance but I'm speaking in a low vocal range with the by tonal voice and I actually think that it was like pretty much ginger lit genderless like this crazy plus enough that may go fun fascinating and I think I'll take it down oh man if I if I dig it down right now but if I do I if I dig it down by if I dig it down I want to be able to sustain speaking like that because then I'll basically have non-human speech I will literally sound like a damn robot and I think that's really cool I want to be able to sound like a robot okay here's my voice dead voice found it greetings and welcome to my favorite sound of the day with me today we have my own trumpet playing with valve Tremeloes and lots of delay and reverb so that's kind of where I started even that's a little bit brighter I think I did a tiny bit of practice isn't vocal fry' exactly like that no sometimes some of those moments were true Diplo phony aware his vocal fry is something a lot different than that it's like I was doing like vocal fry mixed with two pitches mixed with two different resonance tuned to different harmonics I don't know it was a really weird voice oh oh gosh what's this oh oh I was thinking about this there's all kinds of cool audios here what is this it says interesting I don't even know what it is let's see what it does what is it I was trying to sing that was like like two years ago I was trying to sing a whole new world and Finn I sounded like right there that's why I deleted it oh my god my ways gotten so much better since then already what is this yeah really in the last like eight months I've kind of feel like I'm coming up on a point where I'm really really comfortable with singing in feminine before I was always like oh god I need to like keep it up I don't want to fall it was like it was kind of a hassle for me but now it's gotten like really really comfortable especially cuz I've been singing to a lot of like pop like female pop stuff which has really really been beneficial I'm trying to cover got any other cool audio files to show pushing r2 to the limits what is this what is this what is this I see why I say push the limits yeah that's about as high as it could possibly go okay I'll gender the melody as a girl that's funny thanks for giving me all my friends tell me if it sorry for my resonance sucks yeah that's the hard part honestly is it possible to reach frequencies or am i stuck at 750 as a ceiling I'm not sure what you mean by that cuz it means like you can use a compressor on OBS tell me how please please tell me how to compress on OBS what the heck settings audio audio wait I don't see the do you have to advance audio monitoring device no stream delay Ottoman clear King let me know how you can use a compressor on OBS because that would be really really beneficial for me to have okay I do I lightly compress my youtube videos like super light because I want my dynamics to be there but at the same time like you know it's gotta be louder let's see here so there's that there is that I wanna be able to sound just like you all thank you I appreciate that um it's a compliment um feed your Andrew a robot in the clothes voice 1/2 that'd be crazy how's your film excuse me hiccups how's your fin voice melting pretty good oh they're home let me keep it let me keep it into a belt hold up it's been a little bit since I felt it hold on I think some music I'll sing over it and I'll do it that way because I really don't like all capella stuff very much I just I like to mesh with harmony harmony is my favorite thing and so singing without harmony is sort of empty to me [Music] [Music] that's wrong oh I want to do it this way instead wait get that right [Music] sorry I forgot is really loud I don't want to blow your ears out I'm sorry I can't bail on Mike if I bail on my gonna literally crush you guys his ears straight up can I do anime girl voice yeah but I'm not going to I'm not super an anime and I uh whatever you know I've taught people how to do lolly voice and stuff but it's not it's not really my thing um I I do kind of have like um I do kind of have like a little voice so you know like and it doesn't come out very often but sometimes like and stuff like it'll like it'll come out and stuff you know so I don't know yeah yeah let's see do I smell YouTube copyright no of course not wait how would you spell YouTube's copyright I've only played my stuff can you sing a fem-pop song yeah I would but I'll get cancelled by YouTube I want it I would love to sing to you I think the rule is five seconds and it's good I would love to sing to you all this song because I've been seeing it every day for the last like two weeks I don't you cancel oh my god I've got YouTube's gonna flag that anyways this video here or this song to you I would love to sing that for you alright now but I just can't yeah sorry I saw text what's my food coming okay I would love to sing for you I just don't have a good backing track too as I sing with right now in terms of like music I guess I could play in saying but I've been working on this song by now called orbit I'm thinking about doing a vocal cover of it because I just love listen how feminine I don't wanna get cancelled crap okay listen how feminine her voice sounds and I've been singing and I've been singing with her every day so I haven't kind of copping her sound you know I'm saying if you sing acapella is it okay no yeah it's okay I just musically I don't want to right now I'm not gonna create sounds I want to make my room is super dry there's like my like roommates are like in the living room it's just there's no music I want to sing with music let's see hmm doesn't be really cool doing duets yes I've done that if you can steal people's voices can you steal people's singing voices yes I can mine ears yeah sorry I'm not gonna belt or go really high let's see here I have band band ears a band camp ears oh dear maybe I'm twit you can do that a few more minutes and we'll hit the two-hour mark ding you can add a filter to any audio device right click the audio source should give you a menu where you can go to the filter option [Music] hey let's see here okay let's see like filters filters Oh oh thank you so much thank you a noise gate oh my god thank you whoever who said that thank you twonk oh thank you so much that's crazy let me compress my voice for you all so first off where's my actual uh uh I'm just kind of getting doop doop doop doop doop attack well I use that in milliseconds okay ah that's too much compression hold on oh whoa that's why is a ratio default 10 that's insane ah I should probably a little bit better the attacks may be too too fast ah should be a little bit better let me know if there's any weird artifacting off it or anything it's hard to uh it's hard to don't be afraid to sing I'm not afraid to sing as I don't know if being afraid to sing I sing literally hours every day I warship sound and I worship the creation of sound and I sing when I have music to express if I have no music to express then I don't want to sing I'm not a jukebox you know you can't pay me to sing I don't I don't do concerts anymore gigs anymore I stopped performing live because I want to perform music for the universe not for people really so um it's not about me being afraid I you know I have music out of singing done lots of shows it's just to me it's a very spiritual experience and unless I am spiritually feeling that I want to create an expression then I don't want to I don't want to force an expression I don't want to create our feminine Punk shouting vocals possible oh yeah definitely would you say that for Angela narrowing is especially part well the pharynx is a lot bigger than what we're narrowing so I wouldn't necessarily call it that but yes it's definitely an important part of him singing absolutely being able to create a higher one is is its foundational so so so so so important we always have to have a good r1 does voice training work for Preeti FTMs yes it does although there are limitations so that's what I'll say usually if I'm gonna work with a Preeti FTM I like to get an idea of what their vocal range is like pre H pre HRT like I can create fairly high AR ones you can click fairly high AR ones and what else we're gonna say Oh would it work for singing okay so singing is well first off as you change throughout your register at three registers and you change throughout your vocal range the technique required changes a lot at lower frequencies when I'm in like my modal voice I'll sing like like something something in this area like see I don't have anything to sing let me get something to sing here let me just find this [Music] [Music] so basically as you flip through out your arrange and stuff the techniques gonna change you know so up high and my falsetto I have to use a lot more closure and I got to keep a very small structure like that you know as you lower in the falsetto you have to like oh well there's lots of ways it just depends on what style you want to sing it's hard to teach you know if you're going to each time I sing you I don't know that style they want to sing because if you're looking for a more operatic or a full body like operatic or Broadway sound like it's gonna be a much different technique than if you're looking for what I do which is like hyper-feminine pop singing which is kind of what I and you enjoy or like hyper-feminine jazz singing alive and well thanks seem like they're always on the uh cuz I'm going all the way home I swear I'm glow and so that's like modal voice right where I'm sorry but I got stopped by a train with your food be there ASAP that's okay um but yeah so when I'm in a modal lower range I'll keep it very high or one you know most of that structure and we're kind of trying to operate on that and then falsetto kind of takes away that structure because as your pitch goes up so high in falsetto I mean that's thirteen hundred Hertz so my residence oh I should have had this song I'm singing here here we go oh well notice is it my residence we'll track my harmonics kind of ah I changed gender though so there I intentionally kept my residence the same and we noticed as I went down I started sounding sort of androgynous here and then yet I kept my residence the same but I sounded more feminine because as the pitch went down relative to the residence we end up getting a higher and brighter sound so there's a lot of things that we're doing when we sing the feminine that we're basically manipulating certain points where our residences has to change so if I'm going [Music] look at that my r1 locked in perfectly in tune look at that my r2 is as well oh my god and look at my r3 is as well now of course this application is based on format tracking so it can only really find when you're this high up it really only has options there but nonetheless perfectly to informants following up the structure ie the resonance has captured the entire way up the sound is preserved at each note if I don't change my structure then as my pitch increases my Tambor will change relative to the resonance right so this is kind of what we're creating and there's other things so [Music] there's this lock in position a fourth harmonic fourth harmonic like [Music] didn't even pick my rhythms up there well I don't think I was one the one I don't think oh I guess I was I was singing the valley okay that makes sense so basically when we're singing we're tracking and coupling our residences to our harmonics and a good singer is a voice that couples well and a bad singers have wasted couples poorly have you ever tried to break a glass of harmonics no because that's more about amplitude not exactly tuning am i doing something wrong if I'm accidentally triggered gag reflex yes it means you're going are you going Oh which means you're actually advancing the tongue root and not advancing it per se you're like drawing the like ooh the bottom of the tongue up it's a low covering technique you don't want to do that I talked about covering early on in the video so you might want to check that out you're tuning r1 to h3 there yeah it depends pitch has to change and stuff like that but you are correct I tuned r1 to h3 h4 it depends on what kind of sound I want depending on the Tambor I mean really when you're talking about a belt versus like a classical sound the difference is where your are one's out on the harmonics primarily ie a belt is gonna have you on the fourth or the fifth harmonic which is why it sounds like a shout if I go now my pitch is extremely high so there's no way that I'll be able to get onto but I'm like ah hey [Music] ah that's like defined as a pretty high r1 sound that's why it sounds like that yelling it's lifted and like kind of I know ones like that as opposed to look Oh see we can see excuse me hiccups we can see the Opera it's basically just justly tuning on the second and fourth harmonic not always it depends on the vowel the vowel o and opera commonly sung by male speakers around this pitch range we'll be saying is a one two to four ratio one to two to four to 12 or a 1 to 2 to 4 to 16 ratio the all the operatic calls I mean that's just a really well tuned one to one to one against like six right one two three four five six yeah so one two one against six we got the one to one pitched one to one ratio six on the harmonic and we're on the looks like the ninth partial here actually dropped to the eighth which makes a lot more sense it's very strange that I sang this with the ninth partial first and then I shifted to eighth and then back up I actually tried to manually shift back up cuz I was like wait what the hell did what did I change to change that so I tried to do it in isolate our three independent right there which I managed to achieve but so we see a pretty common e to nning at this pitch would be something like a one to one to six to eight which is a very harmonic signal I mean that's a root a perfect fifth it's a root of root a perfect fifth and the and the third octave so naturally that's gonna be a very warm and buttery tone basically operatic singing is when you tune your resonances to non-complex ratios you avoid the primes you're singing all in the first harmonic second harmonic fourth harmonic the third harmonic to the sixth harmonic even though the third is prime it's the lowest it's so it's the fifth but so we end up with all these different tunings and stuff you know oh yeah absolutely have no lower everything absolutely they have lower everything because their entire technique is all about expanding the space pristine thank you all so much the it's the compliance that you're above our one that your pitch locks onto yeah I completely agree when you're in high falsetto how do you get these characteristics for singing styles I imitate other singers and then I analyze what my voice is giving me in terms of their research that I that I see on the chart or one of my ears and then I can make a pretty decent distinction and say ah yes of course of course that's the structure that's going on because I literally copied their voice being able to copy voice is good because I can copy people's voices and then I can feel what I did to make that sound then I can reverse-engineer what it is that they're doing wrong based on what I felt they did when I copied their voice it's a very good training technique here we go I play a little bit of melee I'll warm up because I'm gonna hop off here and eat in a little moment please save this live oh you betcha let's see here so let me get this on screen on stream for you all so I hope you all like the stream so far I would love to do more of this in the future as always you know check me out on patreon if you haven't if you'd like to support me you're welcome to okay let's see here uh is this it no that's slippy whoops you can't see that huh wait I'm at work oh I see why wait none of these dolphin there we go okay now we got this going on now y'all can see me play wait I have to not look at my OBS oh wait so I'll just warm up a little bit I'll probably stream for another like my food is almost here so I'll probably shooting for another 5 or 10 minutes get my hands warmed up eat some food and then let me see here also if there's any other questions about voice and stuff please feel free to ask [Music] yes I love smashing Louis 45 Hertz yeah that's it I need to click going for that I go for that a lot in my games right where I try to hit the tech chase before the tech chase actually happens yes here we go please yes if you guys would like to join my patreon I saw someone asking about that I'll just go ahead and post a link again of course you know you're a nice stuff doo doo doo okay yes you can see like anybody you want to sing like now will you be as good as her that's a that's the question you know it's different question they're different to be able to sing it's sounding like somebody and sting is good [Applause] thank you so much for sure you go first I'll definitely be tuning in for future streams thank you for being heroes it's been really awesome there's been a great stream did you focus on feminizing your speaking voice before working on your singing voice why did you work on both from the start I mean I'm a musician so I was like kind of doing at the same time only cuz I was literally like releasing an album and I couldn't really sell them unless I could sing feminine so I at least so I at least try to do that you're definitely a girl we guys can't be more than one thing at a time uh oh yeah I'm definitely okay let's see here oh ah I'm starting get warmed up now you're making what the hell are those movements you're making in the game so these are this is a - dance it's where you go back and forth on the control stick like this really fast see on most smash games when you - you get like stuck in a really long thing in this game you're - can be interrupted by a - so you can remain in a state of dashing which allows you to change direction so if I'm like running in this direction and I try to change direction this is called fog that's called Foxtrot like that's a Foxtrot like where you like do this kind of thing and so you want to get good at dancing so you can like react so like if I'm doing this and somebody runs at me I get it immediately turn direction etc oh these are wavedashes let me get a good one that's a wave - it's where you jump and then air dodge it a direction but your air dodging diagonally into the ground and if you do it fast and you do it with a good angle you slide and this can you can do this out of stuff like you can do it shine the shine can be canceled today by jump so if I jump cancel shine and wave - we now have a wave shine which is what I did I'm not that good at this game I'm trying to get better I've started going to locals more and like trying to compete more so right now I'm just working on - dancing you understand how fast your brain goes yeah kind of I don't know not fast enough not fast enough to catch that joke Jase well I used to be a professional gamer lately - when I was 16 I was a sponsored halo 2 player during like the MLG scene doesn't nlg crow gamer you know I'm saying but melees knew I've only been playing this game for about a year I mean I played it when I was a kid - but like I've only been practicing it for a year that's like an actual game it's crazy because you can do all this like movement like this this is why I like it way better than ultimate you can't do this kind of stuff on ultimate like on ultimate you can do this you can't it's a double jump slide off like that's crazy like I'm sliding right here with my wave - I had a frame perfect wave - up here this slides off and you can immediately do Dario so it's like it's like so sick I love melee it's so fun also mainly eyes this ain't called shield dropping but the other games don't have where you can hold a shield on a platform and if you input a very particular combination of motions and ankles you will immediately fall to the platform you can't do this on Altima on ultimate you have to like press down to fall through the platform or you have to move off the platform like that in melee you can just you can just hold it hold the angle so you can literally drop it immediately use an area like this so if someone's on the platform with me and they threaten me in shield when I'm on platform I can literally just immediately back here and amount of shield and drop to the platform it's so good and that doesn't exist in ultimate it also makes movement way faster when you have that option because if you're like here you can like immediately you could like watch or you could be on the up platform threatening up high then you can immediately fall through it then jump and wave land and off it like this like you could look like you're here on the platform you look like you're go below the for him but then you actually jump up and slide off the platform like this let me see if I can do this like that and you get slide off why did I choose Falco because Falco is super sick and he has the most in my opinion as a most creative game and all the creative person so I like to play with characters that force me to like think about things differently let's see here your work has been coming up a lot from me well I keep trying to bring it up anyways vocal stuff when talking to the singer at school I mostly use your compositions to try and introduce oh yes 3180 oh I'm so glad you like it it's a I've been playing a lot in Justin's nation if you look at the stream here earlier I started doing a lot with Justin's nation and seeing in Justin's paint and stuff yeah I'm also into making songs there any problem with my boy summarizations before alone for my shifting effects can obscure by resonance yeah it's unclear whether you attribute this for this and CVT there's a concept of metal yeah I'm actually a little unsure about CBT I really love what CVT has done so far like it seems really really cool but there's a few things I'm not sure I fully grasp I would like to learn more CBT so I could maybe form a better opinion on it hi Amy it's so great to chat with you I hope you've been well let's see here you understand how fast your brain goes already read that see any skincare tips yes I do have skincare tips avoid the Sun wear sunblock every day if you're going out in the Sun use Tretton Owen which is basically a huge trend no.1 CBT cognitive behavioral therapy if someone like to talk about CBT and chat um I don't think I said CDT that I so know said but yeah so skincare tips avoid the Sun at all costs sunblock is good treta no it is good oh I said CVT don't CBT yeah see me P stands for complete vocal technique or complete local theory but I don't know it's a school of voice there does some really cool stuff and have a feel nice research but ya know so thanks for your teaching sleep well in Italy I've been dyin oh well Italian heritage I'm not Italian obviously I'm American but take good use sunblock every day it's so important literally letting the Sun touch you is like beauty suicide I mean like to put it bluntly like like you'll be fine but like that's the thing that ages you the Sun ages you more than anything else if you avoid the Sun you basically don't age like straight up if you avoid the Sun and use Tretton Owen and take and moisturize regularly and make sure that your skin you're like cleaning your skin and taking care of it your skin will look youthful like all the way till you're like mid 40 if you avoid the Sun and you Stretton Owen and if you do that plus you like fillers and Botox then you can your skin can look beautiful like all the way through like your 50s honestly you just have to put in the work for it most people haven't that's why I like when you see most old people like they look like sort of wrinkly or whatever like I'm I'm thirty so I mean I'm kind of getting up there but like when you see like older individuals like you can notice the aging more that's because like it wasn't a cultural thing to try and like we didn't know how to combat aging throughout your life back then you know like when you're looking at somebody's like 70 80 or like it's because it's only now understood that the Sun is like the one of the biggest indicators of age like the more the Sun touches you or the faster you of your skin ages especially if you're pale that's why you look at your baby because he never got side exactly yeah yeah same I hate going outside screw that why would I go outside I can play melee and stay here on my stream and hang out with my people and like maybe not yet okay I'm a little bit more - I don't know why I keep missing that I I pick up a bad habit recently that I need a break I'll start using sunblock and stuff good yeah if you're right nearby the ear equator right near the equator well well moisturizer is not just about like yeah I mean it's if you have oiler if you have oily your skin naturally and you're in like a hot place maybe use a little less moisturizer but you definitely want to moisturize your face at night before you go to bed I rescinded it playing smash yeah I just kind of get warmed up I'm about to get up stream and play with some people grow away I'm gonna invite a friend over I've got a CRT so you know we play it a good way just kind of warming my hands up getting moving you know trying to keep some inputs going I definitely they start using sunblock more I start using some lot more avoid the Sun yes it's a favor Helen looks received yeah I've got a receding hairline kind of not too bad but I actually um I actually have a hair transplant surgery in a month so March 2nd actually Wow almost exactly a month March 2nd I've got my hair transplant which is gonna be amazing and credible incredible incredible it's like probably the last thing I'm really actually to spark about on my body so getting rid of fixing my hairline is going to be a huge that off like lost my vote no you can like the Sun but I can't like the Sun I'm basically a I'm basically a time-traveling cyborg vampire know what I mean like I'm an auditory robot I'm so pale that if the scent if the Sun touches me for more than like five minutes I get burnt that's just how it goes so plus it's also bad for your skin and I my skin's like one of the most like yeah I'll talk I thought indeed I'm actually so funny that you just post that and chat with them thank you all I really appreciate that promote plastic tits huh I don't have a plastic tits i have natural breasts not that that's bad if you get fake tits you know whatever dress implants addressing face lots of people have them I don't have them though I probably won't need them either I'm pretty happy with pretty happy with what I ended up with from HRT let's see here chosen x a moon what's that you're playing girl I'm playing super smash brothers melee just kind of getting warmed up kind of - dancing around wavedashing around Shyne combo one vote my foods here okay I think I want a hop off stream I don't want to in it there's been so many great people but I'm a hop off here and go play some melee and eat my burrito and everything like that it was honestly such a great time chatting with you all today I'm so infinitely thankful
