hey rap bags it's Jay today giving you my wish I knew before I played Planet craft video it's out now in 1.0 I'm sure it'll be coming to consoles in the near future it's a great game it's a chill experience crafting and trying to survive on this Dusty red planet as we transform it into something beautiful and Lush there's not seemingly many dangers though with this game other than the basics of survival so do you really need tips guide well it's about time and it's about efficiency and about how much you really want to see your world transform a bit quicker and that's what I'm focusing on in this St guide today with lots of start stuff that I wish I kind of knew a bit sooner and things that definitely would helped me progress a bit quicker the planet craftter despite it being a relatively easy game still has a playthrough of options to make it even easier you can check a custom mode out and from what I can tell it won't interfere with you getting any achievements it's all pretty self-explanatory and you'll be able to see it for yourself but don't be scared of starting one of these up straight away you'll be able to choose the game mode that you want so you can have it as intense where you lose some of your items hardcore where you have to start completely again or relaxed where you don't have to worry about survival with food and water as much of course the base game mode is standard and that will give you a good balance but what the game doesn't really explain for a good while is the pace of stuff if you're expecting to have a lush planet or the beginnings of one after just a few hours it does require a good amount of a Time sync and with the added multiplayer you can adjust this to make it easier or harder now that you're going to have other players join you pretty much on most game modes you're going to be spawning in relatively the same spot although it does change slightly but there are a number of ways and places that you can spawn and you can choose some of these and they'll give you a little description whether or not they're easier or harder but some of them definitely are prettier one other aspect to remember though is that you will gain access to teleporters much later in the game meaning you can set up a base anywhere you want and simply transfer all your goods from your old one and I guess that's what I really wish I knew a bit earlier as well as making sure that I did start my base somewhere in the middle I must have spawned in at least 10 times and each time I spawned in this same location on standard and only changed slightly when I put it on Intense or relaxed which was pretty much only a few hundred yards away and it is pretty much the middle of the map and that's where you want your base your drop podt is obviously where you're going to be starting out in the first stages helping you get certain basic materials like food and water and you may be tempted to go off exploring to find the perfect vist start to go ahead and base build but you do want to make sure you're within just about reach of the middle area I call it the middle area but it might not actually be that when you look at the map over top but you won't get access to map materials so you can see where you are until a bit later in the game also but we do have coordinates as you can see here in the bottom left again you won't be able to set any way points or markers down for a while so you might want to use your phone or good oldfashioned pen and paper to mark down some locations that you might need to return to when you've got a better tier tool to break through certain wreckages particularly pay attention to any ice caves that you find you'll find lots of caverns and caves blocked by Ice that will only start to melt when you get to a certain heat level these can offer vital resources much earlier in the game if you've got your base close by or shortcuts to other parts of the map so do remember where these are and revisit them once you think you've got to the right stage so pretty much anywhere within this Basin that you first sworn you really want to build your base although it would be helpful if you put your start modules a little bit further away so that you can use your drop pod as a temporary space to get oxygen while you go and explore other places from this location you should be able to see the wreckage of a crash ship maybe a cave with dust and sand falling across the entrance but if you head slightly uphill away from the wreckage of the ship you'll come to a much more flatter Plateau where you'll be a to see the aluminum fields and a lot more basically this is a great spot to build your first base at least anyway you'll always respawn at the last visited pod that you've placed so you do need a doorway so make sure you've obviously got the materials I would start by building on the ground rather than making anything too complicated above the other thing to note is that water will start to form eventually and you don't want to be too low in fact pretty close to where your drop pod is that's where water lakes will start forming so do try and make sure you're elevate he a little bit or just be prepared to move your base a little bit more as you start to get water forming on the planet the early days of Planet craft are all about just getting enough resources and the basics you'll learn along the way obviously realizing that titanium and silica are going to be used a lot for crafting Cobalt is used for oxygen and ice will be used for water now you won't necessarily need a lot of food straight away as there's plenty in the chest that you land in in the drop pot and a big mistake I made was once I got to the stage where I could grow my own food as you'll find loads of packets of seeds I kind of neglected to start setting up my food Growers you need a huge amount of biomass which effectively is lots of food and once you've got tons of it growing that contributes to the overall level for the planet to become green and Lush so you don't really want to ignore once you get to the stage that you can unlock food Growers don't neglect it just because you've got plenty of food that you found in wreckages as well you you start building up your food supplies and the quicker you'll be able to go ahead and unlock more of the advanced stuff once you get to the biodome phase you unlock new technology as you'll see from your progression screens that you can place down and the overall terraformation screen you can see the three key things oxygen heat and pressure ideally you want to keep these balanced you want them going up about the same kind of rate so if you're lacking in oxygen it doesn't seem to be moving then you make sure you put lots more plant Growers likewise with heat put more heaters down and pressure put more drills by keeping all three of them relatively going at the same sort of speed you will find that the terraformation will go a bit quicker however I do recommend that you put a bit more effort into heat as heat will melt them ice caps and give you access to parts of the map that you might not get for a while and never let any resources just sit idly by inside your storage except for a few key things which will go through but basically if you've got it go ahead and put it down if you've got lots of seeds make sure you're filling them up inside your plant Growers don't spend too long trying to design your perfect base and then realize that you've just not been having anything happening with your heat your drilling or your oxygen remember you can always dismantle everything once you've got this cantle upgrade which you learn how to get in the early stages and you don't lose any resources so you can always take things apart and place them again and build your perfect base but do keep production going in I did find that you eventually skip a lot of the ery stuff really quickly if you're being efficient and gra Gathering the right resources you'll find that you'll go from maybe the wind turbines to tier 2 solar panels almost skipping tier one completely so one thing to do is dismantle any of your older technology I kept my windmills around a bit longer than probably I needed to but other items is definitely worth upgrading in fact it's a bit of a criticism of mind that the balance for the game does skew quite heavily towards tier three too early on and you get access to a lot of this stuff now there's more tiers but the tier three stuff sometimes is five or six times the amount that you would get whether it be oxygen pressure or heat now all of these upgrades are unlocked behind certain things that you need to concentrate on so if you do see that you're fairly close to getting a next tier of heater or potentially power then it might be worth focusing on that there for a good a while until you hit it this is already really basic obvious stuff but it's worth keeping an eye on and make sure you use the progression and the blueprint Checker to see how close you are to unlocking stuff some screens are definitely not worth it as much as others like you won't need the messaging screen for a while as it doesn't give you any real extra benefits until you've got the antenna or the radar some of the stuff you just won't be getting for a while and it does need a good amount of DET ter formation levels to get the really good stuff to craft all your technology you need make sure you loot every blue crate you come across there's a pleora of these that you'll find all over the map but there are also golden crates that these are in specific locations that will give you a lot more advanced Loot and never forget to dismantle the crates this will help you stop going after ones that are empty or half empty CU you left one item in it and you also get certain resources iron back from the blue ones but more specifically super alloy from the gold also don't ignore upgrades for yourself you can get boots that make you go quicker eventually a jet pack but more importantly always make sure that the minute you get a chance to upgrade your inventory then you absolutely do so so you can carry more resources this should be a priority above a lot of the other upgrades keep going higher and higher in the tiers so that your backpack gets bigger do make sure as soon as you've got a base adequately set up to get oxygen make yourself some water and potentially get some food that you go and start exploring the wreckages in fact really you could go explore these almost straight away as inside you'll find guaranteed blueprint chips and these are going to give you upgrades for certain things these wreckages will always have a lot more loot as well so always go and explore them empty-handed but look out specifically for some of the smaller boxes you will find the blue chips inside some of these larger ones but the smaller ones also have them and they can be a bit easier to miss the first time I ever play Planet crafter I kept forgetting to go ahead and check them out in the blueprints Tab and realized that I was missing out on a bunch of stuff some of it might not seem that useful like speeded up mining speed but it does all help eventually this is also how you unlock certain Rockets that'll help map out the world for you while in wreckages I may have mentioned it earlier you can find sometimes places or pieces that you won't be able to dismantle until you get the tier 2 dismantler now that won't be for a good while so again Mark or make sure that you come back to some of these wreckages later also always have it out and ready as there can be sometimes false walls or secret areas in some wreckages these are the some of the best places to come and find food seeds as well as plants to help grow and get your oxygen levels up so if you Runing around and you've only got a few plants make sure you go and explore the wreckages if you've always got three pieces of iron two titanium and at least one silica you can always put a pod and a doorway down just outside some of these wreckages and then use it to go ahead and transfer any of the loop from inside or giving yourself V oxygen in fact you should do this periodically as you explore the map giving yourself just quick checkpoints that you can set up and these will obviously help you respawn just remember you will respawn at the last one that you entered so if you're trying to get back to base quickly don't ever just give up as it will just respawn you at last one you visited which might be miles away in the early days idium and uranium are really vital alongside some of the seeds that give a huge amount of oxygen the more of this that you have especially uranium the more you'll be able to craft rockets and such like later you won't find ability to get uranium until good while into the game unless you start calling in more certain asteroids so definitely stock up on it as soon as you see it anywhere that should be a priority idium is a bit easier to get in more abundance inside certain caves especially the one with the sound falling down like I said near the first original spawn point after this something I really wish I knew earlier was that super alloy was super important it's really important for a lot of the Machinery that you'll need to generate more massive amounts of oxygen heat and pressure and more importantly you need it for your Rockets once you've got your rocket platform down this is the probably the best way to go ahead and make advances in terraformation it gives a huge boost no matter what kind of Rocket it is so the first rocket you get access to is usually one where makes uranium asteroids fall but you get a massive heat bonus from this as well I ignored rockets for quite a while not realizing how much of an impact they would have on helping they give a huge boost and they'll tell you what boost they will give when you go and check it out on the screen so once you get to this stage it's vital that you focus on making a few Rockets to help boost off once you unlock the advanced fabricator crafting station you will be able to go ahead and make some of the super alloy and it basically requires one of each resource aluminium Cobalt titanium magnesium you get it that could end up still being relatively expensive unless you spent a long time Gathering them resources there is a better and quicker way to get some as soon as you've got your heat up to 100 NK you will then be able to go and explore certain caves that will have the ice melted this is maybe a bit more advanced tip but I think it's worth pointing out now when you go into that cave with the sun falling down you'll find plenty of aridium and other resources and there should be a ice blockage giving way to the outside once the ice is melted this will lead you to the sulfur fields and you'll find plenty of sulfur lying around here you won't be utilizing sulfa that much until you start getting some of the chemical biodomes where you can start making explosives and stuff so don't panic too much about picking up loads of sulfur instead keep going across and you'll notice there's a few different things you've got this small cave here that will lead to lots of more resources new ones like OS minum as well as more sulfur and it's worth picking up at least a couple pieces of the new blue resource that you probably wouldn't have seen elsewhere it has more ice block in the way so ignore that for now as you still need to heat up a lot more to get access come out and keep the cliffs on the left hand side and you're looking for this little cap here once you come through this place you'll find all of this sand falling down like a waterfall and this is where you're going to find huge amounts of the super alloy you'll find plenty of other resources and it's well worth putting an oxygen pod here so you can Cate and take your time you do have to hunt and look for it in the actual sand and the stust falling down so it can be a bit tough but eventually you should be a to find plenty of deposits as soon as you've got the ice available to be melted in that cave absolutely head here and go and do this it will help so much with production in getting a lot more of the machines you need rather than using up all of the basic resources to craft some yourself be careful about going up the actual sand desert waterfall though because if you fall or you could damage yourself by now hopefully you've managed to get yourself a tier three four maybe even five upgrade for your backpack and you should be able to absolutely load up on all the super alloy just then got to remember the way home so make sure you put the Pod maybe facing Direction you got to go and then work out exactly what resources you're going to be taking back with you I'm going to say it again once you get a lot of that absolutely again don't save it up for anything specifically just go out there and use what you've got to go ahead and get the next tier upgrades to generate more heat get nuclear reactors to give a lot more quick and easy power but for sure make sure you unlock the biodome as soon as possible in fact you get this relatively early and you may have found some super alloy in some wreckages that you might think you might want to spend on making it it does give a huge boost of oxygen so it's definitely worth it if you want to sacrifice not making other items just so you can use and get this up and running the Biol laab is also something vital although you will need a lot more advanced materials to really utilize it so I would hold off for now until you've got some of the other stuff really in crafting that you need and then just use up the super alloy if you need it to make this a bit later it's also worth putting on the edges of your base as you won't be coming here often cuz like I said you probably won't have enough resources to be doing much with it these pods are giant but they are really good for also putting certain things that you don't want to mess around and keep moving around things like the heaters which I put in the biolab I think it's a good space to have your tier three ones but the biolab will be useful for crafting lots of bacteria samples the biop plant nuggets and as I mentioned earlier things like explosives and maybe more importantly fertilizer I'm mentioning it here cuz it is one of them things you wonder how to get more of and you might come across a recipe and not put this down and realize you can craft items here but we are stepping into the Realms of an advanced guide here looking at the mutagens and stuff with the biodome itself obviously you can grow and craft a whole bunch more now to do with plants to do with forner more and this is where you start to see how much of your biomass you're building up with hopefully lots of the food planters that you might put down again like my mistake I only put one down and I didn't really have enough going and so I had quite a low biomass amount but you need quite a lot to upgrade and unlock a lot of the new stuff there so like I said do make sure you've got plenty of food Growers down even if you've got plenty of food the advanced craft station does have some pretty nice things including the backpacks like I mentioned and it's definitely worth upgrading them first as a priority other stuff though you may think is it really worth it do I need the jetpack the jetpack does move a little bit faster than you running around unless you've crafted the best and highest tier boots but you don't really need it if you're desperate for super alloy it was worth making maybe Rockets instead until you've got to the point where I showed you where the super alloy fields are you obviously upgrade your exoskeleton that gives you more slots for a lot of the upgrades as well so don't start skipping that and basically once you've done the upgrade to your backpack that's something else you should focus on so you can have things like a torch and put in things like a compass and the map locator on as well there are so many components with Planet crafter keeping track and on top of everything to make sure it's all even so you're contributing to that terraformation score can be a bit challenging but you can take your time there is no real rush there's no real efficiency going on just yet one new thing or relatively new thing they've added though is the ability to overclock certain stuff you can find modules that you'll be able to pretty much speed up or improve the optimization for a lot of this stuff and that's what I'm going to be covering in separate little guides looking at some of that newer stuff that's happened in the last few updates all with 1.0 there's so much more to Planet craft than than when I played it already can't wait to start exploring more of the kind of procedurally generated dungeons or caves where you'll explore new stuff as well as the teleporter was I had completed the story in my first initial run about a year and a bit ago but looking forward to seeing how much more they've added and if it's been fleshed out so look out for more guides from me hopefully this has helped you get prepared and ready if you've never played the game and I'll see you for more live streams soon bye-bye
