Picking Up A Mercedes CLK-GTR

[Music] hello all and all what can be seen through glass you joined me back up near Milan I am exhausted it was some like crazy end of the world thunder and lightning storm in Siena last night and I stepped about 30 minutes I've also driven about four and a half hours to get here but who cares because I've had about 17 coffees and what I'm about to do is incredibly exciting I have come here to GTO GTO Motors which is a Ferrari service centre to meet up with the founder of what auto me automobile iammoz automobile ammos I'm very bad at Italian more about exactly what automobile yamas are later we are here to collect his Mercedes CLK GTR [Music] so here it is the CLK GTR one of just 19 at KU pays in the world and the first time I've ever seen one in the flesh it's the bloody spaceship it is so mad and probably one of the only Mercedes hyper cars ever to be made this thing is unreal [Music] if it wasn't enough to have a CLK GTR does sitting here in the service center there's also an MC 12 just hanging in the corner oh where are my heaven maybe [Music] look at this Challenge Stradale oh my good lord I fall in love with this immediately I'm pretty sure that's Tour de France you know maybe even blue pot see I should probably our bar it's got a tan leather interior and no stripe and IRS [Music] [Music] [Music] this is one of the matter sort of pick up collections days in my life the CLK GTR is so rare I don't know where to begin obviously one of just 25 19 of which were Coopers and 6 were roadsters they were made purely sort of homologation reasons for the race cars but they were like oh we need to have some road ones so that we can actually raise these people everywhere taking pictures because it's just batty you know what it doesn't even look that old I have said the rear lights are a little bit dated but oh no I couldn't believe how narrow and how sort of you know intense that cockpit was those huge side sills anyway the cars went to be choir the owner was saying there's got two massive scientists on the back let's give the owner a name I'm going to call them EA like EA Sports so yeah I mean did he just try and drifted around the roundabout I think he did oh yeah it's got two massive suns some nice it's not that loud just looks what is life right now [Music] so he actually headed up I love the way that one can be a you might hate it but I'm going with it he's headed up to an event for these super car owners Cirque it's basically a two-day tour around Switzerland I think you ever would have heard all I really wants to attend I bought the ones are gone free and a few other bits goes on this begin which means I quitter so I'm kind of going halfway with him today I would go all the way about I think most of the cars there to show you and it was just too good an opportunity to see a city county RK GTR the name isn't he's going to talk about automobile iammoz a war automobile a mosque is is a very similar similar concept singer with the 911 Wow for them sher Delta Integrale a I think arguably wannabe Italian cars ever made anyway as you can tell it's quite windy because I'm chasing a CLK GTR so I'll tell you more when we're going a bit slow [Music] we have now arrived at the Swiss border which means it's time to buy a vignette which is like this at a road tax for Switzerland so I think we're gonna pull in shop quickly what a hilarious car parks cover that would be if you were just cruising through the switch then you blow what what's that Mercedes each condition that's based on mercy okay let's all remind ourselves what a CLK looks like and then that [Music] pierces through the Swiss police don't quite like the CLK GTR dead wasn't predictable oh he's on his way okay well wait wait let's do this [Music] so he was just saying I was asking about what it's like as a driving expense almost like in the car from whether the silence is being food thing a big difference because inside it's a really mechanical sound it's just a race car it really is a race car did all you hear is the kind of over for wine and the gearbox which is actually a full manual gearbox is operated with the paddles I thought it was like a very early sequential or automated gearbox but it's not you start to use a clutch and use Pelops if you do the paddles backsplash nothing happens that one of you quickly old school were really cool but it says yeah in there you see a lot of clunking clinking and it's not necessarily the most central tone bar that's often the way with race cars [Music] how's beautiful it's whistling there's definitely gonna rain here so I need to find a way to put the roof oh I've got a few some kind of junction ahead he's going for the quicken he's going for the pickin I do love that feature of the one to four right so we've turned off the highway and put into Logano because I think there's a dealership that we're just gonna have a quick visit out which could be the good turnoff point for us a good point to wave goodbye to the CLK because I gotta head back into Milan this evening as I think I fully repeating myself I've slightly lost my brain through tiredness too much caffeine and the crazy government following [Music] and just like that it is all over by ridiculous few hours with the CLK GTR also what an absolutely awesome dealership Quetzal Auto I need to come back here I didn't film that much because we've got sort of taken in to all the top secret areas of classy show and race team prep and private storage and it was all no camera only but some that white Dalia anyway I'm now finally gonna head to Milano for what I feel like I've been awake for about seven years but well worth it I'm so glad I got the chance to go check out that car I am fully planning to meet back up with EA to learn a lot more about automobile iammoz because I've always thought as I mentioned that the Lancia integrally was a very very cool car and I really like the idea of someone doing something similar to singer reimagining a very popular classic I think it's gonna be incredibly cool I cannot wait to share more details on that project with you very very soon but for now I need some sleep give the video
