Picking fights at the Jetty, Surfside TX / I nearly got beatdown 😳

[Music] now that we've got them ix loaded up we're gonna get the rods and the gear and then we'll get out there with a couple of bits of tackle you get a popper spoons Hydrabad and the water bottle that should be it right there we're gonna make one last check I do believe we have everything we need I'm gonna grab one more rod just in case we're gonna get an ultra-light just in case the big fish aren't biting we can go after some small stuff or maybe even double back into the marsh crucial crucial piece of equipment that needs to go with us okay there we go gotta get the radio made it to the launch now what we're gonna do is show you all the unload process on how I get the kayak down let's get started [Applause] [Music] that is pretty much it right there it's really simple you just take this Malone white rat cart I've got two little tie-down rings from Rand mount and yeah you put the strap through there lift it off you are ready to go we're gonna hurry up and load the kayak down and get started [Music] ready to go let's hurry up and launch [Music] and they go Parker right over there all right we got our own spot lock we'll let her do her thing and we'll just go park our truck I tell y'all what you really got a love spot lock what is it it's able to do it's just such a fun toy to play with my gosh turn it off all right girl well hello there how are y'all doing let's get started all right ladies and gentlemen what are we doing today fishing the Freeport jetty system on the kayak gonna practice our social distancing so that we don't have any issues with bringing home the crud to the family all right now that we are all set up ready to go let's talk about the three setups that I have right behind me what the game plan is right here starting with mr. gorilla pimp and himself this is my heavy-duty rod and reel combo it's a lose old 18 setup I've got a 1 ounce spoon with a single hook right there and we'll put this fella back it's 20 pound braid that I'm using on that here goes the medium light set up another lose old 18 combo I've got a bug's fishing hydra bug on this guy also 20 pound line and then last but not least in the event the heavy setups back there do not work I've gotten ultralight and this another lose old 18 combo right here we have a bugs flats bug with a Strike King trailer it's a little paddle tail and that's got ten pound braid on over the place I just I am not figuring out to retrieve I've been lucky enough to get hooked up but man oh gosh that dude just came and whacked it oh right oh yeah another little fella doh look at that it's a shame that these are all undersized I really want to get one that's nice and big there we are alright this one's got a little bottom into him nope same size man seriously thought we had a keeper on the line that's all cookie cutter nevertheless quite a bit of fun I don't know yeah I think we got one but I don't know I mean I didn't feel the thump or anything didn't really even feel it he's a big one too compared to what we've been catching a little bit bigger you idiots almost he's 13 and a half alright alright alright go back in we'll see oh there we are that is a hookup I'm hoping that he's gonna be a keeper I got some torque on this reel buddy you don't messed up and hit the wrong line turd oh great oh yeah that's a keeper for sure that is a keeper first keeper of the day thank you for the quick release all right there it is look at that 14 and a half at the fork all right I think I'm done with casting over there towards the jetty I'm gonna turn parallel to it and just start trolling it'll hopefully keep my lure inside the strike zone will let some line out okey-dokey let's see gonna slow ourselves down all right for speed setting a four I'm not too sure how far down we're gonna be we're in 20 feet of water let's just see what can happen all right we just got slammed and we are hooked up on the troll that's got to be a jack for sure all right there we go gotta be one this was the fish that I had been waiting for the entire day oh my lord it's only 3:45 now so let's see how long is it gonna take to land this fella no need to worry about rocks or anything like that all we got to do is just fight this fella that is it if it's a jack that's gonna be the second one for this setup right here yeah it's not beneficial to hold spot lock on I'm gonna turn it off we're in wide open water anyways nowhere even near the rocks let's goodness gracious there goes you keep switching from side to side let's see how long we are in the fight cam got about a minute right below the surface he's like literally about ten feet away from me oh yeah that's a nice one okay what we're gonna do is pick up the trolling motor because I don't want him to snag it there we go man these guys have got some muscle this is by far one of the most underrated and underappreciated fish that we have here in the Texas Gulf Coast such a brute fighter if you love here in your drag scream and you want to come test out your gear just hook into one of these fellas and if you can land it on your gear well consider it fish approved because not fish approved monster approved because these guys are just ginormous monsters oh my gosh we got them here it's just a matter of getting them to take a couple of breaths of air turn his engine off oh my gosh here we go come on baby give it up bro come on did you hear that high pitch in my voice oh my gosh I we've we got I mean the fight is pretty much over this dude is just digging because he's got no quick but he's right here under the boat gosh sorry about not being able to get the hook set because I'm on my last battery that definitely got the lens whip sorry about that oh my gosh I'm trying to get my face away from the rod because if this thing gives way I don't want to freakin smack myself there we go there we go come on breathe that air oh we barely got him hooked - hey hey we are no nope nope nope I'm gonna keep you up so I can grab that tail just got to make sure you're done oh my gosh ladies and gentlemen oh one heck of a fight it's what I came out here for it's just a shame that I had to wait forever just to make it happen there we are oh my gosh we get ya we got ya holy cow this is the monster killer right here gorilla pimp in the losin old 18 one-two punch oh wow let's get the lure out and then we're gonna hurry up and send this guy on his way Oh mission accomplished that was a 20-pound Jack fully revived I thought I was recording for the release but I wasn't so what I'm going to do is make another pass right alongside the jetty and hopefully we'll be able to hook right into another one here we go our second run we're right up alongside the jetty just out of distance from all those anglers spoons they're launched and I swear it's just like being at top golf and everyone's casting their spoon jokingly trying to hit me no I'm just kidding I don't think they're trying to hit me that would be very like bad alright so let's keep this guy cruising in the strike zone we're moving at about two miles an hour it should be fast enough and give it some more line right there waiting for that ever so subtle thump from this guy that's all we're gonna do is just cruise until we get whacked we got a big one down there 22 feet it kind of just let our spoon drop as far as it possibly can we've got the distance as far as line is concerned okay there we go we got quite a few of them right there now eight feet actually 10 feet down fish in 19 feet of water midway through the water column quite a few arches but that's the sonar I really want to see them on the side scan because and that lets me know exactly where they're at if they're underneath me or if they're out to the side of me oh there's a dump we got him just like that made it twitch baby we got you jack number two oh my gosh this one feels significantly bigger Wow here we go we're gonna put spot lock on I don't want to go over there towards the rocks so we'll just fight them from here it's a shame that I don't got any more batteries because I would be able to turn the fight cam on these I mean you darn near got to let these guys Tucker themselves out because that I mean gosh that tail that they have it's designed that flat body all of its a design for speed and they just thrust back and forth back and forth just trying to have their way with you I am so so happy that I was able to come out here and hook into two Jack's I just wish that would have been a lot earlier eight hours on the water talk about a grind but I knew it with the conditions the way they are the water is clean as it is I knew it was gonna happen today and it's just a matter of time all right we got 30% battery life left we got to land him before then so I start putting some pressure on this fella there's nowhere for you to go buddy like seriously no oh gosh yeah he's bigger he just came up to the surface oh my lord that is a massive jack holy cow I hope I have enough battery to get this entire fight oh wow that is a big freakin jack holy moly man that dude is massive this guy is just digging that's all he's doing you're gonna hear me say it over and over again because that's what he's doing I mean he is really big Wow I'm tired people I am tired everyone got them right here underneath the boat I don't know how much muscle like I don't know how much stamina this dude has got but good night bro there yes come on get up here breathe some air get up bro give it up you're right here you've been bamboozled son bamboozled by a spoon what do you know about guerrilla pimping that's the name of that's the name of this setup right here which has got to get him to take a few more breaths of air I mean he's right here like literally yeah that is a great hook set to all right come on no don't wet the camera here we are ladies and gentlemen what a spectacular catch all right here we go there we go oh my god gorilla pimping this jack is massive like seriously massive oh my goodness here we go and pace they raised these thongs mr. Jack this dude is way bigger I'm not even gonna try to weigh him but thank you so much my buddy thank you and there he goes to fight another day we barely have a little bit of battery life left oh my gosh which I'll know about them jack boogers right there look at that we got some jacks not now let's bring on the start of the show gorilla pimping this fella look how tiny that thing looks but oh my gosh this guy's got so much power the rod both of these guys unsung heroes taking it to it one of the most underrated fish out here in the salt I am done ladies and gentlemen I am done just trying to make our way back to the launch Bay as well troll right oh there's there's a thumb here we got him told you we were gonna get whacked [Laughter] all right here we go spot lock engaged just try to make our way back to the launch and I knew we were gonna get whacked this guy doesn't feel that big so we should be able to bring him in in no time huh maybe he's just trying to make a run for the end of the jetty gosh turn this dude is digging yeah oh my god herbs are done people oh my goodness gracious lord have mercy I can't do anything else besides chuckle because my arms they are done like seriously done goodness gracious bro give up already man boy this is one amazing setup right here has completely taken me by surprise with what I'm able to do alright everyone we're going to run out of juice but we finally got to see what it is and this dude like he seriously fought me super hard but we got him right here I had to not record the majority of that fight he just kept going run after run after run but we finally got him off check him out we're gonna run out of battery though it's about to die I had like 10% left so ain't no guarantee on how much I just really want you all to be able to see this before it dies alright my god this by far the strongest fight that I've ever been through and we finally were able to land this guy he got zero juice in the battery just revived him look at how massive this fella is like this is by far the biggest and the strongest fight that I've ever had to go through this dude I mean my wrists are broke I'm so so amazed that the loose being able to that's gonna do it ladies and gentlemen I want to thank each and every one of y'all for clicking on the video and watching it in its entirety three jacks oh my lord and I am just completely heartbroken that I could not capture the entire fight for the third one it was by far the most taxing my muscles my forearms everything was just so hurt I thought I liked I honestly thought that I had in foul hook because usually it takes a long time to bring in a foul hooked fish he was right inside the mouth that dude was massive I'm estimating anywhere from like 42 to about 45 inches that guy was just an absolute beast and again the unsung heroes of the day the lose Pro T I that guy is an absolute beast picking fights with big fish and able to bring them in plenty of drag and then the old 18 oh my gosh that hollow point was a magnificent rod so both of those things paired together just spectacular again thank you so much I'm gonna get home get some food and whoo I've got to like relax all right that is gonna do it until next time tight lines [Music]
