Itβs amazing how slow the government was to react to this. Purdue was doing the same thing in 1999. Great job boys! It only took 20 years.

This is nothing. They used to wine and dine doctors, expensive weekend vacations, all expenses paid, trips abroad, etc etc.

White collar crime is so abhorrent. It's sad it doesn't get the attention it deserves considering how malignant it is for our society. I wonder who much of the lack of attention stems from the less flashy nature of the crime versus the institutions that would normally hold it accountable (law enforcement, journalists, doctors, etc) benefiting from it.
This is a very old sales tactic. Not unique to pharma.
We had a pharma sales rep that was a recovering addict come and speak to our class one day. Told us all about taking doctors to strip clubs and getting shit faced.
