what's the personality type of taylor swift you know my entire moral code as a kid and now is a need to be thought of as good it was all i wrote about it was all i wanted it was the complete and total belief system that i subscribe to as a kid do the right thing do the good thing and obviously i'm not a perfect person by any stretch but overall the main thing that i always tried to be was like just like a good girl there's certain personality types that naturally care a lot about what other people think this is because of a decision-making style called extroverted feeling that's very clued into other people's needs reactions emotions perspectives we all get self-conscious sometimes we all look around for approval from other people sometimes but the reason that what taylor's bringing up here really strikes me as specifically extroverted feeling is because these phrases she keeps bringing up wanting to be seen as good wanting to do the right thing wanting to be perfect all those qualities are being measured against compared to an outside standard an outside expectation that's bigger than herself and that's what she qualifies things by that's what she measures herself against that's why extroverted feeling is called extroverted feelings because her way of making emotional decisions sort of value-based decisions involves her looking outward outside of herself all of the fj personality types use extraverted feeling as one of their strongest personality superpowers and it's so strong for them they often have a lot of trouble taking some steps back from it not thinking about this outside expectation these outside standards i had that praise of taylor you're doing a good job at your work hey this is taylor swift and thanks for listening to cat country 98.1 you're doing a good job at being a songwriter you're doing a good job of being a musician like those pats on the head were all i lived for exactly for x-ray feelers making other people feel good bringing people together sort of creating that group harmony or consensus it's so energizing for them knowing like oh when i did this this made that person feel happy when i did this this brought people together that's like crack for them extrovert feelers can be sort of chameleons because they're constantly adjusting themselves to accommodate other people other people's needs and wants and perspectives it's very easy for them to shift their personality a little bit so other people can feel good or other people can feel welcome i was so fulfilled by approval that that was it i became the person who everyone wanted me to be you know extrovert feelers sometimes get a bad rep because it's like oh my gosh why do you care so much what other people think why can't you just think for yourself do your own thing why are you being so fake adjusting yourself to other people i actually think there's an element where these personality types can't really help it and they've done brain scans of all the 16 personality types the fj personality types so the extroverted feelers the parts of the brain that attend to social feedback that feel embarrassed that pay attention to what people are saying that can mirror other people's behavior for the fj personality type so the extroverted feelers those parts their brain were wired to were used were prioritized all the time and so at a brain wiring level you've got people that are super clued into social feedback oh wait when i said this to my friend they got disappointed oh my friend was sort of hurting but when i said this it made them feel good of course that's going to be hard for them to not care what other people think because their brain is literally wired to care about what other people think man so happy everybody was so happy watching it they were so happy and that makes me feel happy i really like this scene trying not to think about you calling me with grammy nominations i know i'm trying to get the full list because right now um in the main the big categories of album record song you are not nominated oh okay it's um this is good this is fine yeah and and it's very similar everything is like this you know what like this is fine this is i just need to make a better record no i'm making i'm making a better record that right there was an amazing example of introverted thinking the logical critical side of the fj personality types that's often overlooked that a lot of people don't know about introvert thinking is a hidden sort of quieter decision-making style fj personality types have that likes to analyze that likes to critique that likes to take all the emotion and bias out of things and just sort data points it turns everything into data points feelings relationships intentions facts even themselves they turn into a data point so they can sort more accurately try to make sense of things try to figure out what's actually going on the strength of this decision making style is how unemotional it's trying to be so in this moment when taylor is receiving some pretty disappointing news notice how quickly how harshly how bluntly taylor sort of shuts down her own emotions she's trying to detach herself from her own personal feelings her own personal bias so she can just sort things out so she can sort of process them register them as like data points it's sort of intense how coldly she shuts down her emotions how quickly she puts all the blame on herself and goes all right well those are the data points those are the facts i guess i just need to make a better record next time all of the fj personality types have this logical critical cold side to them and unfortunately for a lot of them this is a constant sore spot for them this introverted thinking side of them it plays out as a negative it makes them overly critical of their needs emotions perspectives basically it makes them not very nice to themselves there's so much pressure going into putting new music out if i don't beat everything i've done prior it'll be deemed as like a colossal failure there's gonna be from from 16 to 20 songs on it that's what i'm guessing it's going to end up at but that's what i was hoping for i mean think about that you've got an extrovert feeler who doesn't like disappointing people who's always in a position where they could potentially disappoint other people it's funny because extraordinary feelers often put themselves in these positions they're at their best they're happy when they're managing other people's needs and emotions collaborating with a lot of different people so they often happily put themselves in positions where other people are depending on them but the more people depend on them the more there's that pressure to do better to not mess up to give more to the group so that the group is okay i'm really happy for you i'm let you finish but beyonce had one of the best videos of all time [Applause] it was so echoey in there at the time i didn't know they were doing him doing that i thought that they were bullied me that was like sort of a catalyst for a lot of psychological paths that i went down it was all fueled by not feeling like i belonged there i'm only here because i work hard and i'm nice to people i was like i'm gonna prove myself i'm gonna make sure people know i deserve to be here it wasn't until the personality type stuff that i was able to register to realize this sort of a struggle this angst that extroverted feelers these people pleasing personality types go through all the time these personality types when they're taking care of people all the time when they're thinking of other people all the time when they're adjusting themselves to other people all the time it's impossible for them to not feel the imbalance sometimes for them to go wait why am i taking care of everyone else but are do people also care about me this clip is a perfect example of how much taylor thinks about the group the group is basically her identity but at the same time the more she helps the group the more she thinks about the group the more she feels pressure from the group there's also that constant harsh self-critical voice that comes from the introverted thinking side of the fj personality types it's always nagging to do more not mess up so that they can be seen and appreciated and accepted by the group they care so much about if you're an fj personality type one way you can sort of balance things out a little better for yourself is if you remember and affirm that you are an important part of the group you yourself are part of the group and just like you take care of everyone else around you and are so clued into their needs and emotions and perspectives and wants you need to do that for yourself you need to factor yourself in going oh i'm not just a data point to critique all the time i'm actually a real person with real feelings and needs and perspectives that are valid and i need to balance out the group with myself being factored in taylor swift the singer she goes to court today against a former radio dj she says once groped her i was there for a sexual assault case and [Music] this day a year ago was the day that um uh the day that the jury decided in my favor and said that they believed me i guess i just think about all the people that weren't believed and the people who haven't been believed or the people who are afraid to speak up because they think they won't be believed and and i just i just wanted to say that um i just wanted to say i'm sorry to anyone who ever wasn't believed because i don't know what turn my life would have taken if somebody if people didn't believe me when i said that something had happened to me so in this part of the documentary taylor sort of starts speaking up about certain things starts championing certain things and this is exactly how extrovert feelers can supercharge their extroverted feeling to do some incredible things notice here how taylor swift's extroverted feeling that adjusts to other people's needs that is really clued into other people's emotions and reactions it isn't being used here to just make everyone else happy to just make everyone feel good to just sort of get other people's approval she's going no i am part of the group i've been taking care of myself and what i realized makes sense to me what i really really care about is pushing us all together in this direction it's a i'm with you and i'm for you this plays perfectly to these personality type strengths and here extra feeling introverted thinking is being focused in a direction where she can also still take care of herself she's not neglecting her own needs for the group she's fighting for something she really cares about with the group if someone needs a voice and is getting left behind she wants to fight for that person and if that person is herself if she needs a voice if she's feeling left behind in this healthy headspace she also knows how to take care of herself this is exactly how efjs tap into their full potential for 12 years we've not got involved with politics or religion imagine if we came to you and say hey we've got this idea that we could halve the number of people that come to you next to it i'm saying right now that this is something that i know is right and you guys i need to be on the right side of history and if he doesn't win that at least i i at least i tried it really is a big deal she votes against against fair pay for women she votes against the reauthorization of the of the violence against women act really basic human rights and it's right and wrong at this point i need to do this i need you to just i didn't need you to forgive me for doing it because i'm doing it i need to do what makes sense to me he or she is actively going against what the group wants what people she cares about want she went inward and sorted out what makes sense to me you notice when she's like giving this really impassioned explanation she's listing out reasons she's going no this doesn't make sense this doesn't make sense this doesn't make sense i need to do what makes sense to me and i don't care if it's going to throw off the group a little bit because this is what makes sense to me that type of sorting things out is exactly what introverted thinking is and what's really compelling to me seeing this clip is going wow this side of her that has historically been really bad that's led to a lot of overthinking and self-critique and insecurity and low self-esteem is here being used in a positive way to help taylor stubbornly stand up for what makes sense to her her introverted thinking instead of pushing herself into the ground is helping her fight for people she cares about take care of other people in the way she really cares about okay i think you guys get the idea there's still a lot of different sides of taylor swift's personality type that we didn't get to today if you guys really want a follow-up video let me know in the comments down below hit that like button if this video gets a thousand likes i'm more than happy to make a sequel i'm personally a very big taylor swift fan i think it'd be sort of cool to unpack the s sensing side of taylor swift's personality type that we didn't get to today taylor swift is an esfj personality type just like olivia rodrigo i think these people pleaser
