stuff i i'm pretty sure y'all know that by now i've never been hesitant about telling y'all yeah i'll be finding some crazy stuff but uh this video is called frustrated dragon throws a bottle at entrepreneur dragon's den now going back just a second it says uh guy jeremiah from aquatina entered the den seeking a hundred thousand dollars in return for 10 equity state okay so this is kind of like um shark tank this is what is this like a knockoff shark tank or is this like a very hot uh huge and prominent show that's just somewhere in another country you know what i'm saying so i don't want to disrespect by saying it's a knockoff shark tank you know what i'm saying but you never know these days on youtube the internet man this could be just like a whole parody type video you never know so i'm always cautious going into it but you know what i mean y'all don't you normally steer me wrong in in some occasions y'all do but for the most part y'all y'all hardly steered me wrong so i'm gonna check it out i'm gonna check it out uh let's see what's going on here it's kind of like the same setup almost in a sense man i wonder where this takes place at you know what i mean where they got him at though it looked like they upstairs in some attic or something why you had to come up downstairs like that hello i'm guy jeremiah i'm an environmental businessman and managing director of aquatina i'm looking for a hundred thousand pounds for a 10 stake in our company bottled water is environmentally unsustainable to make this one bottle of water it can take a quarter of a bottle of oil and seven bottles of water here in europe the average person did he say oil he didn't just say oil did he unsustainable to make this one bottle of water it can take a quarter of a bottle of oil and seven bottles of water here in europe the average person throws away 85 bottles every year so what's the solution we believe we have it and we believe it's called aquatina aquatina don't that lawsuit's coming for you buddy hear me we believe it's called aquatina aquatina is a refillable reusable pocket bottle so extend it fill it up drink and then compress so re-pocket and like your keys are a mobile phone you can always have it with you the aquateen is the perfect accessory to the water cooler so you can find watercolors in schools gyms and the workplace so that neatly identifies our three target markets which are kids corporates and sports and leisure in parallel to all this we've developed finderfountain.org this is a website where you look in your location and it'll tell you where you can find your nearest water cooler or nearest uh pub or a cafe where you can fill up your equity now for free all right i want to make my my prediction or or give my assessment so far i'm not really feeling it um yeah it just it doesn't grab me to say oh we need this or oh you're solving a problem oh are you it don't give me that now what most people try to do they try to judge the faces on on the people that's that's sitting there you know what i mean waiting to either receive this pitch and whether or not they're in or out most people be trying to judge their faces but for me i'm just saying it's just not it don't seem it seemed like like this could be anything like anybody could have did this right here i just don't see where it's filling the void it's it's it's a need it's i don't i don't see it the market for bottled water is now worth 80 billion dollars a year but last year for the first time in its 30 year history sales of bottled water started to fall now at the same time the reusable bottled market has been grown hold on let me see when this came out y'all okay 2019 because i was about to say last year bottles of water should have been at an all-time high the pandemic was playing war you couldn't find water i'll say what is this food talking about but this is this is an older video so i'm gonna let them slide on that one now at the same time the reusable bottled market has been growing fast and is now worth two billion a year we need your investment we need your expertise to help us take our share of what is an enormous and growing market so this year we're offering consumers a choice a choice between 100 pounds for all these wasted bottles or five pounds for one green bottle thank you very much so it's the reusable bottle is what he's basically saying you know what i'm saying okay still don't do nothing for me [Laughter] an eloquent presentation from a confident guy jeremiah who hopes his collapsible refillable water bottle can help stop excessive waste he wants a hundred thousand pounds and is willing to give away ten percent but something one thing i don't like about that if y'all ever familiar with those kind of bottles right those squishy ones once you get a dent in the side now you're trying to always push out a dent from the inside of the bottle like that's one reason i'm not a fan of that you know what i mean and and jen who's trying to do uh pull that out why you can just give me one that don't have to squish put away like it's too much man like i get it you're trying to to feel the need of you know what i'm saying all those wasted bottles you want to dispose and i like reusable i get that but i just don't see this happening has annoyed peter jones when you came in you've you've pitched this but i think you've made a statement that's a complete red herring okay by bringing in a box of empty bottles and then telling us that actually 80 billion dollars worth of bottled water is produced each year yeah you gave the impression that potentially you sold us that you had a solution and i think that that is a complete red herring this doesn't eradicate that in my opinion well we've based all our models on the two billion market which is the refillable bottle market not the 80 billion market so i mean my figures are that we take five percent of the uk market so you are not going to at any point penetrate the 80 billion dollar market they be trying to sell you a bridge in brooklyn with with the wording and trying to trip you up like they were going to but we he saw right through that and was like no you're not even going to make a dent bro in that problem so what are you talking about stop using those stats to say that you were going to solve that no no no well the idea is you don't need to buy that if you always have a receptacle that you can fill i disagree do you truly believe that that's going to eradicate water a ted [Music] he just got real gangsta uh okay okay we might be able to do something with this i like this chi exchange not a good start for the entrepreneur now james khan wants to focus on the business plan guy i am james guy what's the price point that you're selling the bottle at um it's up to the retailers but the price point is 4.99 what does it cost you to manufacture um it will it will cost 50p right now it's costing us a pound you've sold how many of these so far and the last four weeks we've sold a box of 340. just give me numbers 340. revenue-wise hammer 702 pounds so you're proposing me a business with a turnover of 700 pounds that you're valuing at 1 million pounds yes is that correct i've got those numbers correct haven't i yep so you ain't so much or nothing yet but you're here asking for a lot of money and you don't even have a track record i'm gonna make it very easy for you and just tell you i'm out guy's confidence takes a hit as he loses his first dragon will health club owner duncan bannertine see the benefits of his invention you know the thing is that the reason i don't need this in my inside pocket is because when i go to the gym i need to take my sports bag because i need to carry my trainers yep so i carry one of those balls inside the sports bag now in all good health clubs they have filtered chilled water in the gym so what i do is i refill mine using the filtered water to my gym some articles in newspapers will suggest that there are health hazards associated with single-use bottles the internet is full of scare stories so am i i don't do that you don't have enough information you're just gonna say some articles so now you're gonna start oh that was a bad move that was a bad move there are health hazards associated with single-use bottles the internet is full of scare stories so am i now killing myself because i've been using one of those bottles and refilling it for the last six months um i think if you use it a few times it's not a big issue i see that's why you don't go down that road right there that is why you don't know so you sound bad you're upset it's it's okay to not go down that road man but you you're trying to figure out a way to get this to the pitch this to them that you're willing to go down roads that you have no idea where it leads to man don't do that i just cannot see the point of this i mean there's so many problems if you have done your pocket first of all it's cumbersome to have in your pocket so it's not good to me but then if you're going to use it as a disposable pocket what happens is every time you want some water you go to this cafe where you can get the water for nothing and they give you the water and you drink the water and then you throw the water and then you fold it back up again you put it in which is a complete waste of time it's disposed you might as well just have a paper cup and then you're talking about going around fountains around london where does these fountains are we can drink the water free turn it up the most environmentally friendly way to drink that water is to drink it straight out the top you are therefore harming the environment by a bottle that you say is here to stop these balls you might as well throw up my monster it's a terrible invention i'm sorry guys really made me angry and it's 4.99 you can buy them full of water it depends it's ridiculous and it's ludicrous i'm sorry but i'm out hey i don't care how you feel about my invention though you ain't gotta throw it at me fam that's when the meeting would have went left right there i picked it under the water bottles and threw it back at you for them don't disrespect my invention like that an irritated duncan vanatine refuses to do business with guy deborah meaden the cameraman is next to interrogate the shell-shocked entrepreneur guy can we just test the environmental credentials so in terms of the production of this the carbon footprint is exactly the same as that this is you'd have to use this three times so once you've filled this up three times then you're a break-even point and you can use this we've we've tested it it'll last for nine years and it still goes we had it on one of those machines so it's your constant use so therefore this is actually more costly to produce if it isn't recycled exactly if i got one of those bottles and i did what duncan did and reused it for even three months it would take me nine months of use for this to be a better a more efficient way of doing it first of all you'd have the health risks of reusing a single use bottle they are picking you apart like how you letting them pick you apart like this you can put it in the dishwasher so a lot of the bottles if you take the other ones they it won't get inside you know i smeared this with marmite on the inside put it in the dishwasher and it's clean and hygienic but you really only have to refill that three times and you've got the equivalent of a single use bottle guy it really is one of those i'd rather stick pins in my eyes moments i've noticed a hysteria about you know people get excited about this bottle you honestly believe that people go around with this in their pocket looking in their busy schedules for somewhere to fill it rather than have a convenient bottle which they can buy from anywhere so i'm going to go into a shop and say look i'm not going to buy your water can you feel that from the tap for me please i wouldn't go into a news agent and ask them to fill it up but it's convenience the whole reason that market is so large it's convenient sure see that's what i was saying just not so eloquently put like they put it bro but in a nutshell i was trying to say this at the beginning fam he should have listened to me taking the convenience out of it you're claiming to take five percent of the market five percent of the bottom line yeah well in my boardroom i have reusable bottles because we have the filter system i'm not going to use this so you're not going to touch that market what is the refillable bottle market answer only that question a refillable it's a range of different types of bottles that people can buy to take to school to take to to work to take to take walking outdoor pursuits it's a sports bottle it's great again dunk has already said when you're doing sports you've got a bag you've got five sophisticated investors here who don't want to be treated like idiots i'm out thanks [Music] an infuriated theopha fetus is the third dragon out and guys chances of investment look slim peter jones is now ready to declare his position i really feel quite strongly that your opening pitch i understand why you've done it now but i do think that that is very misleading i'm going to tell you exactly where i am i i think that this is not something that is going to sell in the volume or anything like the volume that you think i think your valuation is is beyond ridiculous and i think that you will struggle to get a 100 000 return over the lifetime of this product so i'm not going to invest today and i'm out thanks so guy down to me um you had a high spot for me because i absolutely one of my pet hates is the waste that we actually accumulate through bottled water people just need to use taps but i don't like the fact that you have to use this three times to make it even comparable to one of those because it narrows the difference that it actually makes you know i would like to see a product that completely wipes those bottles off the face of the earth for that reason guy i am out okay thank you bye-bye and i ain't cleaning up my mess either i don't roll the body and left them water bottles right there y'all shouldn't do my bottle a fiery encounter yo i did not know they had like a another show like this out this ain't that bad it's pretty funny you know what i'm saying but i want to salute the the guy for bringing up you know everything is all fun and entertainment but uh salute to him for even like most of us don't have a product that we can take up there to pitch so you got to give him his credit for coming up there giving it a shot he may go back to the lab tweak a few things you know that means figure something out and then you know what i'm saying because they do have those stories outside of like shark tank where people came up there pitched their ideas it didn't work they went hit the pavement figured it out and then blew up and then did it without the help of the shark tank so it's not the end all be all let's just say that you know what i'm saying but this is just a way to give you some tough love tough criticism and i respect it you know what i mean i respect it a lot of the stuff that they do on the show is for entertainment value you know throwing up the water bottle they got to keep you entertained so they got to keep you vested to watch to keep the numbers up but dope show dope episode y'all get at me let me know what y'all thought of this video and uh if you want to
