[Applause] you can't dear me how about now it's just better good stuff good stuff I'm sorry I'm sorry all right well here's the panel I believe most of us have been waiting for myself included so our first guests who are returning from Vince Vaughn 2k16 are Rick and Connie horny [Applause] and then also returning from Pentagon 2k16 are Mike and Ella Brasi and also returning from 2006 communion is miss Angelica Maldonado [Applause] and what an honor it is this year that we get to love them even more pizza parents depends upon the lucious [Applause] last but certainly not least we have Ernest and Tammy Sallee joining us today I should be getting back one more round of applause for the kids [Applause] can I start with a question I lost my badge and I keep everything [Music] [Applause] thank you all so much for joining again we're very excited to have them here to kick things off we do have a bunch of questions we've been gathering well we'll go through those as well but to kick things off can you just give a little intro to you know yourselves or family where you're from that sort of thing just kind of go down hi my name is Angelica Maldonado I'm Thirsty's mom and we're from Arlington and I had a dog named Tokyo and I'm mommy Syd I mean I'm tor mommy sitting on a scale and Olaf's [Applause] well I'm Mike Rossi and this my wife now we've lived in Arlington for about 30 years but we're originally from upstate New York but we consider ourselves Texans yes and obviously we're midgets parents I'm Tony Cohen and this is my husband Rick we are Scott's parents and yeah we're from Arlington Texas this whole crew and we also have lived here about 35 years and I grew up in Iowa you grew up in well every where they travel or his dad moved around a lot we had three kids one of which is here Lindsey and her two children couldn't make it today I think they were sad so they'd say hi anything you want anything we really enjoy this thank you hello everybody I'm Tami Salinas and my husband artist elite and we are in Southern Maryland originally from Baltimore childhood sweethearts we have three kids my oldest is artist jr. and Matthew has his youngest sister who's on the side who is hiding triangle Samira silly and we are excited about being here my name is Wally lucila and this is my wife curly and this is my daughter Candace younger brother is not able to join us but he's Indian his name is Caroline he's our secret weapon so we currently live in Maryland we lived in Kentucky for quite a while and but we started our journey in California and this is just I guess I'll tell you this is our first time here and this is overwhelming just beautiful everybody has been extremely nice I am I did not expect this so you guys have exceeded my expectations [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm not a parent not a parent single as a Pringle so I'm Kevin's sister I'm the reason he can dance no no so yeah I'm a sister Candace I'm a pharmacy student finishing up my last year of pharmacy school again pray for me and super excited to be here especially after finishing my second rotation for pharmacy school and just needing the break so you guys have been a breath of fresh air so thank you so much for being so warm and welcoming for us here so [Music] all right so we got the questions here so one quick request as well for everybody with a mic if we also hold it close just to make sure that everybody can can hear in the back but the first question is going to be from Jenny Youngberg so a few years ago I mentioned that following them for so long I feel like a proud parent I just love them and watching their journey but I wanted to know what your proudest moments have been over the last few years during this pinnate onyx journey cuz I don't like my I have my dog here and I'm so proud of her and I just can't imagine like having this feel well I might as well start again it's all overwhelming it's a I can't wrap my head around all of Scott's success in the group success it's been incredible that all three of my kids are freaking awesome [Music] [Applause] all that apple of our eye and the joy of our life and they've all three given us amazing what we call PPM's proud parent moments and then just come one after another it seems like since they were babies since i sat up for the first time and everything else it's been it's been a joy as far as scott success goes again i can't wrap my head around it I can't believe all this has come because of the group and it just overwhelms me too it's it's amazing what do you think as Rob reactor said ditto that's right we've had many PPM's throughout the years and it's unbelievable you know what all yes I mean this is three kids that it started with and then grew to five and goodness and it's amazing but I will say one thing that made me probably the proudest is when we were in LA and can't remember what concert it was or anything was the after-party where I was talking with people who like managers and I don't know just different different people in this all involved and I remember them saying you know this got so special I mean for Scott he he just wants to bring the best out of everybody in you know and that very moment probably even made me the most proud in this you know his 26 years and it was just you know that people thought so much of him that you know anyway I don't know it's hard to explain but anyway we have a lot of PPM's well I think there's so many proud moments I mean when this all started I really did not know where this was all going and then before we knew it there's one grander than two Grammys really it's a it's a dream come true and like like we said we also have to be children and I three children are doing very well we're very proud we feel like we've done a good job and we thank God for that and each one of them is special as kandi said she's going through pharmacy school and I younger son is working eyes MD at Columbia Medical School source we are we feel like we've been extremely blessed so we have every day we wake up inside why extremely blessed so but honestly every time I attend the pentatonix concert one thing that gets me is the crowd the crowd we were just last weekend in your paws in the Seattle and 40,000 people from the beginning to the end you can feel the energy and the crowd is what gets me the most and the laughter the smile and it seems like one big giant size family and that's what Stephanie's a lot coming you guys you guys are awesome now it's telling you without you none of these would be possible so again I want to thank you guys ok feel free okay well as you know Michael and I don't get to go to too many concerts unless they come here you know it does seem a very often a couple of times a year three times because someone's in the school for finishing up my master's and working two or three jobs you know trying to get graduated by the end of this semester things will calm down a little bit which is what I face people I'm sorry I have to support Mike's playboy lifestyle now every every opportunity that we have to see Mitch perform see pentatonix perform is a proud moment I the whole time I'm watching them I'm smiling and you know I I just feel so proud for all of them because they feel like they're all our kids you know and as a matter of fact I feel like I'm at a family reunion all feel like family because without you they wouldn't be where they are today so thank you very much and thanks for gathering again and loving us visit with you again the proudest thing that Mitch has shown us that especially and I don't know why maybe in the last year or so is the level of maturity that we've seen such a big change in him taking responsibility large responsibility buying a house and buying a car and doing those things on his own really without consulting us sometimes not but his overall maturity and being able to take care of himself and and doing what he loves that you know I used to probably heard heard me talk about this before but we've always beat into it not beaten we made it clear cover you for reasons I'm not serious she's tougher than me anyway but where was it going with you always you know encouraged our children to do what you love and it sounds like you know terribly like a cliche but really I mean I wanted them both to do what they wanted to do and we always said you know eventually the money will come and if it doesn't come you live within your means and we have one that's you know Mitch is doing the superstar thing and our daughter Jessa is a magazine editor and that was her dream to write and she does that and does up there's other writing on the side so the the pride is always there you know and then we come to pentatonix concerts I'm just never gonna get used to this I mean you walk out less than when we wore a Thursday when we walked out and saw everybody you know and they're coming to see you're coming to see our children and you know it's like they're that I still can't wrap my head around that like brick says I can't and we are very appreciative of every single one of you you're out here spending your hard-earned money and your time to come here and to go to a lot more concerts than we go to it's very very much appreciated by us all it's very important that you understand that because you're without you like Rick said kind said there we wouldn't be here so we really appreciate everything that you do and every concert you go to and everything else that you do it just amazes us all the time so so Matt is the new guy and being the new guy you're always like wow with what's gonna happen you know what is it going to be like and so for us his parents we've had quite a journey try to journey along with him like everyone else has said we're parents of three and we love our children dearly they are the apple of our eyes and of all three of them Matt's oldest brother lives in Tampa he works for Disney as an IT PM IT project manager this is his sister is here Tamara so she's kind of think they say she's full and maybe she is wrapped around this finger but that's okay but Jesus she's going to be a freshman at Southeastern University the sports medicine series we're proud of him he's always he I was telling someone as we were coming in that he he's always been very very outgoing from his from the day he was the day before he was born or that day we're in the waiting room planning to go to the delivery room if you ladies know there's a room they put you in and then they put you in that room to wait for you that you're in labor and then they begin the process and they move you to the delivery room well we didn't make it to the delivery room in charge the world that they had to break down the table in the in a waiting room or whatever before and ever since then he came out like we're just proud of this journey he's been he's a hard-working young man and he works really hard in terms of you'll see him like when he performs he gives 110% all the time the word is family that we sense this this kindness and you up said the word that I just rings in my head when I come around Pentatonix and the pentathol exes as you call its kindness you all have such kind hearts and it's genuine and so we really appreciate that it made it so much easier for us to become a part of this process and we're so grateful to God and to you that you [Music] I think Kirsty is really I guess the proudest I've been is this past year she's really starting she's just really finding herself I guess she was becoming himself she's gaining the confidence and she's just this is just especially after having such a hard year last year I'm sure a lot of y'all know about that but I'm just really proud of her because she you know just too strong [Music] and I think it was god-sent she got to be on Broadway and that was like she was you know would also that was just amazing saying huh do that so all right so the next question is from Emily sighs yeah sorry what okay so for the not mad [Music] no-ho-ho John's reaction when y'all first heard Matt and therefore Matt's parents what was y'all's reaction you know when y'all heard of his sing for the first time okay I've met Matt several times says you know we go to as much as we can and every single time we walk in the back here in the green room or they're warming or whatever all Matt does is exude joy energy he's just a breath of fresh air he's fun he's an incredible incredible gift and where's you know yes when that's all good but we love but we'd love man is he's just yeah I feel like already I know him really well so and that's how he is that's you get to know him quickly because he's just anyway I really love your sorry even before that if we make Matt I think Kevin was already here calls about him and he's really bragging about him and I'm telling you when we met when we met Matt is just a bundle of joy a release he's awesome and I'm amazed how quickly it fit right in ages I mean he picked it up just like that and his performances are awesome and I think it's his father since he puts in a hundred and twenty percent yet these that he's the real deal and he's just done extremely well I know my daughter Tamara actually introduced me to the pentatonic it was actually 2016 she was playing the Christmas CD and we you know we hang out a lot so every time we get in the car that's all she would play [Music] and then I watched in 2016 Christmas special and so when I was like I like this group I like this group and when Matthew was going through the process and he figured out I remember the night when he actually was going through the audition process so originally they did not tell them that tell him it was for the pts and the night that he kind of figured it out he texts me said mom I think this this audition is for PT X and then when I met the group the first time I believe in Chicago I went to the first Christmas show and of course it's a mom you're always worried about whether or not your baby is going to fit in and my baby and I was put at ease and instantly I mean the group they hunt on me and I could tell they were genuinely hugging and loving him and then when I went to the show and he's like he wasn't even official then I just felt that this was a godsend instant and and I'm still thinking for [Music] okay one more thing I know when Matt first was doing a Christmas show and stuff Scott would you know talk to me about Matt and stuff and he would say how they would say you know Matt you don't need to learn that and you don't have time would you know just do bottle-blonde Matt would come back new everything you know and they'd say and there's a lot of songs they've done he knows them all and that really impressed Scott and pressed all of them and I remember him saying that anyway it's a hard worker too so next questions from the Lauren Seaver hi okay so pentatonix has talked about how difficult it is to be away from home for so long so I was wondering as parents and sister how how does it feel to have your children for brother be away or be away from home for so long and how do you cope with that yeah that's good we were talking about this the other night when Mitch was here briefly and we only usually get to see Mitch maybe about two times a year and last night when he was last night away Bert was he wanted to go out and visit a friend of his and they were gonna be out very late and you know here's Mitch out there in LA has been now for seven years and when he's out with his friends or out partying or whatever he's doing it's really not it's not that I don't we don't worry it's he's there and I don't know what the difference is but when he's home it's like okay we're working this stay up and wait sorry texted me to say where are you we you said can you bring me to my friend's house because I think I might drink I don't want to drive I said okay so we drove him to his friend's house and I said when you're ready just text us and I'm coming and it's like okay or I can take uber I said no no no it's okay we'll come and get you no matter what the time is so it's getting later and later and later I really don't want to drive over there and I texted him it was probably about close to midnight and I said are you are you any close to being ready yet he was like I'll just take over it's okay don't worry about it and I said okay so I let that go a couple minutes later I texted him back and said look when you go out to the parking lot that's a dangerous area really and it's ridiculous we're never gonna get used to him I mean our daughter lives to two hours away from here and we still stress about maybe she do and where's she driving you never steps out in the country what's gonna happen but we are never going to get used to have an MV away so much and hopefully in the next couple years we can visit him more than we have been able to in the past but it's more stressful weirdly when he's here than when he's out there it's a parent thing I guess when you center Kirstie's my only one so I'm really I'm so sad all the time but I actually try to go see her like every eight to ten weeks like I try to fly out somewhere or wherever that and try to go and see her and in fact tonight yeah I'm gonna take a run off in Pascal and we're leaving and we're going to Boston I'm gonna see the show in Austin stay with her and then I'm gonna drive her to Houston we're gonna spend the night any any little bit I can get she said mom I really miss Olaf and Pascal and I thought to myself that's code for mom I miss you for us it's it's different because all her children left home very early because they went away to boarding school for high school so it has been very difficult we sort of kind of God we used to it but you still haven't you know it's very difficult we I used to leave home as soon as they call us if this sound like if they sound sick I get really sick to my stomach ready to go to the bathroom he's the right he's ready to he's like okay you get a ticket fly out flying to go everywhere they are always on the road he's not joking like sorry so boarding school like we went to boarding school in Massachusetts so super cold we all have the sniffles up there okay it just comes with the snow and you know you know hey mom that next thing I know it's a 16-hour Drive and I'm coming from class my friends are like yeah your mom was just having once with us in the cafeteria [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] all the time I used to take all of my friends out all of Kevin's friends at all Kevin's friends out so up till now I have kids everywhere all over the world and now with heaven gone kept Candice killer they're all everywhere he is always having heard from the camera he has his little dog on the phone he's always monitoring where they are oh they're here 35 checking people call them I see it as you're at your home [Music] he's always monitoring we're like you're a stalker yeah [Applause] [Laughter] three kids growing up with three kids mass chaos most of the time anybody has a bunch of kids at home who knows that it's it's just crazy so Lindsey the oldest she went away to college got a little bit quieter Lauren went away to college got a lot quieter then Scott finally went away to college and we were wow this is nice and peaceful so then when they come home now it's almost like hey to a degree you know I grew up all over the place and older brothers and sisters and we lived in different places and Connie's the opposite she grew up in the same town in southeastern Iowa and she went to you know finger garden with the same people to graduated high school with so we have two different perspectives on things so she calls Scott every single day you know and with electronics we have today and everything else I can text we can call we can I mean it's just like you stay connected even when we're many many miles apart well we do see Scott a lot and if we if he doesn't come home to see us he knows we will go to see him we see them quite a bit I think y'all know we try to go to a lot of concerts and we're both kind of semi-retired now so or even seeing more of it yeah yes nomads well my to max oldest brother and Matthews they graduated from college and then they stayed and the states that they graduated from so Matt's been gone a little while also and honestly of course we miss them and Matt we do you know my husband accused him of being a mom of two mama's boy we do text and talk at least if not every day every other day and so I don't you know I when he's home as a parent being hot is the room looked a little different the living rooms you know this okay now we know the kids are all because all over the place but but we stay in contact and like you said like trying to twist the following names and the time yeah you're able to stay connected so from the sister perspective you're asking like mom said we've been out of the house forever Kevin left home when I was going into high school and he was going into eleventh grade so we've been apart for almost like over 15 years I think I'm at this point but I think what's different now is from a sister's to same what Kevin and I are like best friends he would I mean to the point where when I was a when I was a kid mom and dad didn't have to wake up in the middle of the night because Kevin was in my crib to make sure I was not crying before they go they were like Oh Kevin got it right so we're like we're best friends so I think I worry about him traveling so like anytime he's on a plane I'm praying my heart out you know I get worried about everyone being on a plane the whole group and I'm not a plane I love sharing my brother with the world but sometimes I wish I could have him back so I am thankful for technology we try to stay in contact as much as we can their technology and he face times with me a lot we love to have really deep conversations with each other we like to have Bible study together over FaceTime and we pray a lot together over the phone and we usually talk a lot when he's driving somewhere and so I know when he's like when he's home I get a lot of phone calls because he's driving somewhere but otherwise I know where he is because you guys let me know through Twitter for letting me know where my brother is and what he's safe that makes me feel very comfortable but even though we had been apart for a long time physically it doesn't necessarily change the fact that I wish my brother was closer and the same thing with my little brother too it's even worse with him because we're both in school so we we don't see each other hardly ever even during holiday sometimes he can't leave and I can go home or I can't leave but he can go home but because Kevin can move around when he has concerts when they try to do concerts close to where we are so he can get to us that's why we see him individually more but as a unit I guess the three of us as our trio we don't get to see each other like that and that's hard but otherwise I'm thankful for the techno that we have to be able to stay connected so next question is from Kendra Regan my question was do you all get to listen to me new music before it's out or do you'll have to wait himself wait here as well oh yeah something's done and Scott can email it for me I'm all over it yeah yeah always with the promise that it's always with a promise that she won't spread it around anything I don't even give it to my daughters she was like the last weekend though very simple answer with Mitch no no we don't forget anything [Music] [Music] [Applause] sign here first he never sends me anything and I never listened Tommy [Applause] it depends sometimes we get to make fix it it really really depends rarely Kevin usually it's just like not knowing where it is supposed to be and when they're supposed to be somewhere because we find it up from you guys well Kevin why did you tell me about this is like mom this is my job I just think of it this is my job I don't tell you what I'm supposed to do is my job I just would work every day I said oh okay you said if you need to know something then just ask me every day ask me what I'm doing usually we go to counts if we go to California and we are in his albums if there's anything that he wants to play for us there is excellently so Kevin usually lets us preview like stuff that he's working on personally does she know that stuff thing he likes us to listen to it's not like I like to be surprised by pentatonic says I want to be just as surprised as you guys so I wait but he usually likes he likes to send me stuff when it's his personal stuff cause he wants me to like critique it and ask me and my advice and if there's anything that I think should change or whatever and he'll go back and have some minion cut and be like how about this one so like he was he says he respects my advice as his sister so that's doesn't easily what he would send me but otherwise I like being surprised just like you so well Matt is the new guy so I'm not sure if he knows what he's supposed to be doing with the guy I think it's because it's all new to him it's not like Kevin all we have just that I'll tell you maybe wouldn't be because it's kind of tells us anyway and if you remember the movie Meet the Fockers we're in the inner circle and again with Mitch know so next question doesn't have a name but basically what's the most surprising thing that you've heard of your child I assume like from from probably with interacting with fans or something maybe something you've heard something that was surprising [Music] I gotta think about the nil and this has been on more than one occasion mitch has gotten a tweet or something I'm not really that savvy electronic so social media or any event but that he had saved somebody's life because they were thinking about suicide and because Mitch came out and he's can he's comfortable in his own skin and encouraged him not just Mitch but Pentatonix and they were thankful for pentatonix but they were talking to Mitch specifically and so just the effect that pentatonix has had on so many lives this is just [Applause] [Music] and then for us because kevin is very involved with the cello we get a lot of emails from teachers university college professors they talk a lot about their students who have now begun to pay more attention to the cello young students schools who hated to practice who's not practicing or picking up the cello and even thinking of the violin the instruments and looking at it with new eyes now and with a new bigger and that to me is remarkable and it's like oh my goodness you know people who come up to us and come during concerts and it's telling us that all because of Kevin and because of his love for the cello my child is now picking up the instrument again and it's and studying again and so so that is a really big surprise and it's for me it warms my heart because I love the cello and I love orchestra music so much and another thing is that university professor some university professors are actually studying cello boxing [Applause] [Music] we were in the gym a few months ago and one of the students came in and said they were discussing Kevin and cello boxing in there and there at the classroom that day and we have emails from university professors and talking about how they you know they discussing cello boxing and you know Julian so that is the topic so that was amazing you guys already know how open kevin is about his face and I think what's been really surprising for me is to hear we I get messages all the time from all over the world from people who are going back to church because of Kevin being open about his faith I've had young people as young as 12 13 14 telling their parents hey I think I want to go get baptized you know and I've had kids tell me that you know my parents don't agree with me for wanting to love Jesus but I Kevin's testimony in and of itself has been strong for me and I decided to go to church with a friend and going to church has changed my life and I'm gonna follow Jesus and hopefully my parents decide to as well so I think seeing that you know when you are true to yourself and you show people you know something is strong as you say I believe in God and not being afraid of that and seeing how that impacts people even as young as 11 12 13 where you usually get made fun of for something like that and that kids are feeling strong enough to be open about faith and even adults they were saying that they're wanting to go back to church and they haven't been back in decades and they're wanting to rekindle their their walk with Christ I think that's really been amazing for me to see it brought the cello thing subject that because one time we're in Philadelphia and Skype they had a concert and Scott went to dinner with us so it's just the three of us and we sit down at those nice restaurant and our waiter comes up and he's like hmm hello there you know who Scott was right away you know when I'd like a picture with them and all that and he said can you tell Kevin something for me it's got like sure and I don't know if he did it over Debbie but anyway this waiter like it was probably five six years before heard heard Kevin played the cello giving him the interest in the cello and he was at that point studying cello in college so because of Kevin yeah so that was pretty neat we've gotten a lot of private messages about how pentatonix affects autistic children and that has just blown our minds that you know parents saying their child and never spoke until they heard than intense music and anyway that's been yes that was really awesome [Music] so if you want remember a panic on 2016 there was a yellow man you understand in a second so there was a moment where stuff from the panel got on Twitter and we did you know tawny says she gets hold of new music in Scotland she can buy ticket Angelica like please send it to me we want to see it our way so then Mitch tweet school and that Esther responds when Mike drags you and then Mitch goes he gets famous on Twitter and suddenly he's melting [Applause] all right so next question is from Athena well hi my children weren't singers what job like do you think they'd be best at like what do you think they'd be doing Scott I took him to a concert waves four years old and it was - trout fishing in America in a little duet band that did children and adult music and he came out of the concert saying dad that's what I want to do when I grow up I want to be a singer well he worked on it his whole life went off to college and started thinking it's hard to become a singer and make any money at you know that everybody's poor who's a singer everybody was around was putting their hat out singing in the streets and everything else to try to make a living and it's just very difficult that all the planets have to line up - you know for everything to happen right and to get to where he won't be in the singing business and so when he went to college he started playing you know putting his backups in order and one of the main backups he had was film scoring you know you wanted to be film scoring and then he also looked at being a pianist or a studio pianist and anything else did he it was over girl kind of business music get me all of it all music related I mean music business pianist session or you know just all that everything revolved around music I really couldn't seem doing anything else kevin was of course he was doing he did pre-med and he did East Asian Studies he studied he studied classical Chinese Chinese politics economics and so and so he wanted to do if he didn't go to medical school he was going to go to medical school he wanted to do cultural diplomacy so some of this is someone I think that he was interested in he did a lot of when he was in China he did a lot of work for the footage for the embassy for the Chinese American Embassy in China he worked with ambassador Huntsman when he was there and he did he did a lot of interviewing on Chinese television and things like that so he was very involved in a cultural stuff when he was there so that's probably what he was gonna do well I know that he never had a plan B he never had a plan B and when he was going through high school his music teachers and all his teachers have really loved him and they were trying to encourage him to get a minor when he was went to college and education and that started you know he thought about it for a second but he honestly never had a plan B but as his mother I can tell you that Matthews loves children and if you have ever seen him around kids you would see it that that was his second love music his first God his first was in second but he loves children so anything dealing with children and music that would definitely be a great job for him yeah well when pentatonix was touring and when they first started you know touring out of the country Kirsti was still trying to work on a degree online and so she was actually trying to get like a speech therapy degree I can't remember a time when Mitch wasn't doing music and he did talk one time about doing musical therapy which I thought would be really good and hearing some of the stories about what Nell was talking about earlier I think that would have been perfect for him to do because he has a very caring heart and he people tend to gravitate to him for advice and you know for his for their feelings and stuff like that and so maybe I don't know maybe a child's a compliment maybe not a child psychologist either that or a tattoo artist one of the different it's always it's really always been music and that and I remember he said a lot of times through the years that if if he if it wasn't for music if he didn't have that to fall back on that he there were times in his life where he thought I don't want to be alive anymore so that really got him through a lot of stuff and he's very sympathetic to people that are in that same boat so but other than that I really it's always been music of some sort next questions from Zoe hi so my questions like it might sound kind of confusing today with the best of sentences for some reason so is there like an embarrassing story about each of your kids like growing up like do they have an embarrassment [Music] [Applause] the last thing Scott said when he left this morning was don't embarrass me I don't think we would live to tell about it you know kevin is extremely religious he has been that way since he was a little little boy well there are two stories when he was about seven in about seven or eight a church you know he used to go to church and he he decided to the grand piano in church he decided to engrave his name one [Applause] he used to sign his name his that talking to you wanted to sign his name and D like his dad because he was going to be a doctor Kevin or Lucilla MD so many scientists named Kevin dilution and be on the piano they were urea the piano that we had a church we didn't know it but it was it belonged to this lady who she had just moved into town and she didn't have a place in her house yet she was renting a condo so she didn't have a place in our house yet for the piano so she wanted the kid to church - yeah until she bought a house so she was furious so we fixed the piano we had it her fear and so many years later we moved to Chattanooga Tennessee we went to visit Candace and she and her husband invited us over and oh how sad they were [Applause] it was repaired his big binder that he wanted Kevin now to autograph it if I only knew now I have to get your autograph in this binder leaving it on the piano the second story is you know middle school they have dances so Kevin went to this little school dance and of course he had never really been to any kind of dance things and you know he is this little Christian kid and he went to the dance and how am I dropped him off and went home and he called me him a few minutes later he called me back is like you have to come to pick me up I'm like why he said just come and pick me up so I went and I picked him up and he came into the car and he's crying is like my mom mom this kids the winner of dancing don't they realize that it's not appropriate they're doing inappropriate thing Jesus doesn't like that [Applause] lovely happy to know that Jesus is in there he has business in heaven he never liked this things and I'm telling myself these are young people and they're having fun but no story that I don't think Scott would my name's Billy he's very young that's why I'm thinking I can get away with this he was probably eight or nine years old and he wasn't a musical theater production I can't remember the name of it oh darn but anyway he had to wear this old Treasure Island a thing and there was he he was he had to wear this big long wig and it had to be weaved into his hair and so they had like a dress rehearsal or something well that lady who was doing it it doesn't realize children don't understand sarkis sarcasm and the lady said why don't you get your hair a little shorter it's got Kenny in the car and said mama I've gotta get my hair cut it shorter it's too long I like really it should have talked to ask you know are you sure you want his hair practice I was so picky about ever doing anything to your hair and musical theater but he was he know I got to get my hair cut so I mean we and it's not long anyway so it's like short short so we didn't buzz it but it wasn't much longer so he shows up the next day for the show it was not pretty I thought that hairdresser lady was gonna just stroke out right there but another mother came and said here I'll I'll do it because she was just beside herself and so anyway I'll never forget that you know just talked about this not too long ago he did the lead and Greek grease you know how Danny's careful okay not like Matt well met through his hair out a little or you know just a little and I took them to my hairdresser and he got it her so he got a perm and he got in waves and he was the best-looking black daddy ever [Music] [Applause] but afterwards so it's all over and he says my hair is straight will it ever get bad but me I couldn't see my hair and he was so worried they would never get his hair back to my supposed to look well so he was something he was really concerned I was like Matt the perm will wear out trust me if you will look like Matthew again actually if she reminded me of it because Mitch and Scott grew up in theater together and Kirsty as well yes they went to cats theater as well in Arlington I now remember Mitch was I think he was 9 when he did this well I don't know he did Annie with him Scott yeah but I'm back that that year that same year he did or he might have been a year after I don't know he did what is the Christmas show that Christmas Kara okay and he got cast as Tiny Tim and they he and as the set in its pre small stage as she was bigger than theatres Norrington anyway they built this ramp that he had to walk up okay and he looks like Tiny Tim and he's got you know like a crotch in the whole thing and they've got his leg all wrapped up and everything and so he has to lean on you know the whole effect and the shoes that he was wearing were and some old pair of shoes that had no traction on the bottom so they were supposed to the people that helped with the profs and so forth and the costumes were supposed to you know scuff up the bottom of the shoes before the show so that he could get up that ramp with that that crutch so it comes to that part where he has to go up the ramp and he keeps sliding I need to go up here and pick him up I was oh my god yeah one of the one of the guys that worked on the crew oh okay yeah Bob Mitch was like twelve shades of red the other actor he actually thought fragile yeah he said I want to do this anymore [Applause] [Applause] okay maybe fourth grade and he had this little friend in him and they decided they wanted to make a magazine and sell it if their their elementary school I guess it was and it was called well I can't remember what it was called but it anyway it features a like Bucky you know like a Bucky the beaver type thing you know and and so this was back in the days the early days of computers and the early days of software in the early days of of porn so Scott wanted to get some ideas on this beaver so he types into her [Applause] a search engine takes into the search engine you don't London and all the sudden a thousand bucks and it starts I hear screaming from the other [Applause] he was quite embarrassed [Applause] sell the magazine t-shirts to go with next question from destiny the question patience so my question is more for the striplings how do you guys deal with the theme of your siblings and the fans there's Lindsay back there well Candice can start I can start in the fame of my sibling so I mean I've always kind of been in the shadow of the family my siblings so it's not really any good everyone's always known me as Kevin's sister I've never had a name no I mean I've always been proud of my brother and what he does and I've always wanted to like doesn't make anything he did so at the same time what everyone else is like oh my gosh your brother is amazing I just think of like him being my brother yeah so when people say oh my gosh she's so cute I think praise God big game embraces you you guys you guys see him at his the Simba that grew up I see him I think you know in the song when they like skip over his teen years that's the part I see campus I see that a little clip you pass through Simba that's how I see came back the same of Kevin I it's weird to me still because I just see him as my brother and because he's he's like my mentor all the time he's constantly calling me to make sure I'm doing what I need to do he's constantly giving me advice he's constantly praying with me he's constantly he's conflict lifting me up he's just like literally my best friend so his fame is just something that I can be proud of and I can share with people and just kind of be baffled that people actually like my brother it's literally just Kevin yeah it's cool that I can think like again I can share his hugs with the world like I'm always like please you have to get a Kevin hi God and people tell me when they get a Kevin hug you know and you for seeing it right you know it's just so more just awesome he see he loves giving everyone else hugs now because me I completely different hug from him I've always been the one to because I'm so little compared to him I do this to my little brother too but if they're sitting in a chair they already know I'm going to climb into their lap and expect them to embrace yeah they hate that now it was cute when I was little but now that I'm 28 it's not cute but I mean the fame the fame of your brother is just like just being proud of them for being comfortable in what they've always been in call to do so if you have a sibling or best friend that's doing something and they're doing it to their best ability at 110% and they're loving it to the fullest it's the same thing it's just this one is on TV and on Twitter and on YouTube and on Facebook that's the only difference so did you want to talk about your brother even talking about Matt well it doesn't really it doesn't feel much different now but like when I first found found out you know everybody at my school found out and I was like oh my god your brother like I wouldn't give a big reaction because this is not my personality but like I'm really proud of him so you know he's the thing he's just you know like she said just everybody knows [Music] so I think they pretty much covered it but I would just add that um like how special it is like we all come together and we have our little like family like gatherings and how at home everything feels and everything so and just I don't know it's really fun like actually having a famous brother so like when people have heard of them or you mention it or it comes out of it people are like oh if they heard you know we've always just been really like proud of him in whatever he's done so before pentatonix we were proud of him for like whatever you know he was a high jumper in like junior high and he did this needed that Vera was just very proud of him and each other we're very lucky to have him very supportive family like that but yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] we got a couple more questions and I promise I'm handpicking the question so I know it seems like it's just all coming in the front I'm sorry doing my best the so max okay so my question is do you guys ever see like covers art or edits that fans do and if you do then what do you think of that that's easy you should see her house notice guys sometimes we he has to give us stuff and and then I get it home and then I'm like I really want to keep this guy and we have art up I mean up in the music room especially they shoot what was anyway the fan art is incredible I mean summit I get on Facebook and see some of the pictures and I am blown away I mean you guys are some of the most talented people I've seen it I mean it's just amazing what some of you especially some of the artists good heavens [Music] [Applause] no oh wow yes [Music] I [Music] [Applause] sorry sumit tweeps is a tweet is that is that what everybody's so talking about the the beaver story so Scott said it was cuddles the deeper I love seeing art if I see something that like a good drawing of Kevin I'll like I'll text it to him like my work I know you haven't seen it you need something to keep it on your own save it I'm going to say that your problem you know I like I have this like picture saved on my phone just from fan art it's just so beautiful and I go through the like the black hole of Facebook or not Facebook of YouTube when I listen to like choirs do covers or fans do covers or just I don't I just think it's just super cool when you guys appreciate what they do and then you do your own spin on it or do you get like a group of your friends together and you do like your own birds and the Potala nice and you like a sex tectonics thing like it's beautiful but I think we appreciate it and we think it's really cool when you guys do your own creativity you need to put your little spin on it I think it's really cool and I hear acquired like school choirs do it I love that I keep saying that they need to put out more like choral music so now more schools can do their own version pronounced but I think I think that just be super cool thing is started printing out more coral versions of their music so more corners could do it around the world I'm leaving now but I wanted to tell everyone thank you so much for all of your support supporting all of our kids I'm supporting her steer it just means so much and I love all of you you're you're great and yeah I just have hold people eyes and if I don't leave now I won't be able to see [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so that's going to be it for the questions we do have some some gifts and actually you know related kind of to the last question in a way so we want to start the okay so actually the last question was fantastic I think if you remember you were here last year remember we had little gifts as a thank you to the pinch parents for arriving well this year we got one of the fandoms most popular artists to do something for each of you representing your children and it's super cool and I wanted to sit on one of the committee members that I want to Jen to give you these herself because it's by Pizza holux for print appearance [Music] and I'm also going to be the one that I want you to open them because I want you to see the magic [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] I hope you guys can talk to this dude is taking all over vinyl albums [Applause] [Applause] [Music] oh and you know how we have flat attacks we have a pocket tonics too [Applause] okay so once again thank you all for coming today give them all really round this [Applause]
