we did a we did a series of television shows we saw magic all over the world went to Egypt China and India and every magician we saw had a version of the cups and balls and the trick all around the world didn't change very much but the props did and in China they had these metal cups handed down generation generation in India they had these hand carved wooden cups but we used plastic cups because we were representing the United States of America so these are the plastic we use we also use four balls we use tin foil balls so we have the totally American totally disposable cups and balls goes like this is where it's on everywhere take the ball we place in our hand we vanish it and it appears underneath the cup that's when it's done all around the world just take the ball we place in our hand we vanish it and it appears underneath the cup here's a little variation teller came up with we takes the ball placing his hand then shows you underneath the cup that it still appears underneath the cup now if I do the center ball place it visibly can send a cup then to do side balls put them anywhere we want they still reappear near the center cup they've already seen a little juggling here but there's a little more of it than a giant ball in center cup one more giant ball on either side and of course for the finish it's a baseball as American as you can get Oh it's told not done yet he's that was good enough um that's that's the standard version of the cups and balls after we did that for a while we wanted to kind of zoom in and do a Penn & Teller version of the cups and balls which involves breaking a few rules imagine the first rule of magic is you never do the same trick twice you had the sense of that right away you're going to get us out of there don't do it again we're going to do it again second rule is you never tell an audience how the trick is being done so I'm going to tell you exactly how the trick is being done the third rule of magic is you never let the audience see your secret preparation they must not know what is hidden in which pocket and the fourth rule of magic is unwritten but I think any magician in the world would agree with us in a second that you never ever do the cups and balls with clear plastic cups this is the Penn & Teller version of the cups and balls we take the first ball pretend to place it our hand having already snuck in and eat the first cup did the second ball simultaneously secreted beneath the Gumpert into place in our hand and showe it take the third and final ball pretend to place in our hand pretend to shoot the cover release of the competent secretly secrete it and reveal it now we're all set the second after he cups all loaded three balls on top the senator ball please center cup these are the side balls ready put them waving even more we have three duplicates and he sent a cup with each new balls come over here this is not juggling this is called misdirection four I looking over here tell us things to find the ball under one more he decide and of course for the finish it's an American baseball pun Wow shall we get my

Even when you can see what they're doing, it doesn't make it any less magical to me. It's still astounding the skill, speed and mental agility needed to pull it off.

got to see them in Vegas, and even knowing how some stuff is done, it's just mind blowing

they did 1 trick, where in hind sight, you realize they're telling you EXACTLY what the trick is as they're going, but you don't see it coming

just great

the most amazing part was after the show, they stood out in the lobby and talked to whoever wanted to talk for at least an hour

I love it when they "reveal" a method, but don't actually reveal anything.
