Peak September Abundance - But Will They Sell?

$1,000 at our markets this year our last two Saturday markets have uh have exceeded that and our last one was one of our best markets all year so you know like that's been good the stand's been selling well but now the kids are back in school it's September that means that the summer is coming to an end but once the kids go back into school the traffic at the farmers market definitely goes down so we're curious to see what's going to happen this week can we keep up with the good sales it's the end of the market and we didn't end up selling very much we sold $230 today it's kind of borderline if it's worth it you know probably below the borderline monetarily for us to do this Market we're going have to regroup for Saturday I still think we can have a strong Saturday how did the market go well it's a good thing you're sitting down did you sell everything no it's 230 bucks oh man that's like that's really stinky yeah that that might be a record breaker worst Market ever well I don't know if you remember our first markets 5 years ago I don't know 230 230 is pretty low that's really frustrating because we spent the whole day we made like 60 bouquets cuz I was thinking there was like a good chance that you could sell like 30 I you know you brought like 40 down to the market and there's no way there's no way we're going to be able to sell all those yeah I think we sold 10 and then some dried flowers that's like a lot it's a lot of flowers the stand has been doing good but yeah maybe this I don't think we've ever sold that many out of the stand and like this is the quiet time of the week too um know that's that's disappointing makes me nervous for how the rest of September is going to [Music] go looks pretty good in here M it's Friday afternoon and I'm starting in on making bouquet I'm a little bit behind schedule because other times this year I've been done making bouquet by now but I have everything picked pretty much there's just a few things left to get and you know honestly after Wednesday did so poorly I don't know how many we we really need to make but I have some exciting news up at the stand there's a chicken we we got to get the chicken first you're on the run there lady you're on the Run sometimes they're hard to catch hey it can like relax here eat some green grass for the day before we get it back to the neighbors this is the last of the bouquets that we made that were in the cooler you know this is this is the last day that we'll sell them but I mean there's a lot that stands for but you know the cooler was filled to the brim we've sold so much and the stand has been like crazy busy all day today too so I I don't even know how much do you think we sold in the last I think we're close to $300 around $300 yeah and we we did like 300 or more yesterday and the day before so you know Market's stinky but the stand is doing better than it has all year so you know maybe everybody's buying their teachers First Day bouquet yeah I don't know maybe no I'm I don't know what it is but hopefully it continues next week [Music] [Applause] [Music] too I have a few bits and pieces that are missing before I can you know really settle in to the bouquet making including Lizzie anthus [Music] sad it's the end of an era I think this is probably the last week that I'm really going to have Liz an this the good news though is hopefully this is the last week that I don't have dalas so kind of as these finish off I'll have lots of these to take me to the end of the season you know and there's a chance there's a chance I might get a second flesh of Liz anthis maybe probably not but uh yeah no these look incredible are these gorgeous look how big they are mhm they I'm pretending that they're actually bigger right oh make them really big look they're the size of my head can you believe how big these lanthus are have you ever seen lanthus the size of someone's head no but for real they are like the size of my hand pretty decadent looking flower right there [Music] fil [Music] the I want you to cut this daily I was going to save it to look at when I was in the tunnel no you love L more all right let's [Music] go how about that for a handful though 20 bucks this is like $60 in my hand right now okay what else you need to get let's get some zois do you have enough of these that you could send me with a zoi bunch no I want a Zoe Bunch no they're too precious I'm making a bouquet that has like six zoies in it no Zenia bunches [Music] I love these they are a favorite they look like money to me so I like [Music] them okay it's back to flower bouquet making if I don't start soon it's never going to get done hello hello how's it going it's going pretty good it's pretty late it's like midnight now yeah oh really yeah I was feeling on schedule you know I was thinking about it though and I've had some days this year where all the bouquets were're done by 2 o' and that felt amazing and I've had some days where the bouquets got done right before you left from the market at 6:00 in the morning and that felt uh you know I'm not going to say amazing but didn't feel bad having some days with no help having some days with lots of help it's kind of nice to get to do these these nights on my own you know it's like quiet and uninterrupted other than you coming and seeing me um you know I can just like get into the groove and play with the flowers you know it's it's fun I'm I'm a night owl so I like the nights well I have no idea what the market is going to be you know last week best Market of the year right last weekend before school started Wednesday worst Market of the year but the stand has been busy so I don't know yeah do you know how much we sold today I don't know how much 460 bucks that's that's crazy so I don't know I don't know what to expect but I do know for sure that the bouquets are going to look amazing when you got buckets of this yeah yeah it's hard to go wrong hey did you make my daily a bouquet they're may or may not be a daily of bouquet going to the market May ended up being a for Ian how how about you make me one right now well I have all my stuff on the table I know but you can stop to make a one single daily bouquet but I was going to show off my rainbow bouquet look how good my rainbow looks looks pretty good look pretty good and then look my zoi bouquet very fall lick M Nelly made us a bunch of dried flour bouquet yeah don't they look incredible yeah they look really good Nell looks so good at dried flowers dried flowers scare me to make bouquet cuz they're they're very fragile they're very fragile yeah you know I like dried flowers But Nelly might actually like dried flowers more than me which is saying something she's been like looking forward to it being fall and it being dried flour time all year she's like I can't wait I am stoked on these CU they're going to make the top of the like the top row of the stand look really good well I have the top row of the stand for you this there's your top row these are my little brutalist display that I've created for you concrete it's so brutal look how brutal this one is I tried putting dead flowers in it dried flowers in it and then it just made it brutal but I like like it okay but let's not get distracted let's make that daily a bouquet oh yeah I'm supposed to not stay up till 6:00 in the morning today so I have to actually get some work done is that actually a clock you didn't know get a clock on the wall I only have my pocket watch this is how I I track time in novel's finished I I'm currently only halfway through a novel so I got another half a novel until it's officially late for me okay what these do you want what do you think sure do you like it yeah I like okay what do you want what do you like I think it looks really good with these lianas I mean how much P me D is and lianas that's pretty expensive I'm being indulg want like a $100 bouet is what you're saying you if you made me put water in a vase there's a $10 fee for that you want a n sisa yeah what I need it looks good here's my trick I put it up to the V oh look It's tricky because the I usually just do it at the table length but this is this one's got the curv bottom no it doesn't it's not bottom all the way this base is actually really shallow going to do a different Bas dude I a little bit but let's just do it because it will look nice it's just going to be hard we need to put more stuff in here or else it's all going to fall out we can do my trick though here's my I don't have a frog and I don't actually want to put a million stems into the vase of flowers this is a trick that I learned from someone doing dried flowers they took all their stems and they'd like bulk up they' bulk up their base so that they could use the wreath clamp great thing about status is it's like a cage I put it in and then it's almost like having chicken wire what else do you want cuz I'm going to put the that stuff the fancy stuff in last uh uh did I get a couple of these pink zenyas don't give me focals are those pink doubles over there the cranberry the cranberry ones yeah or the or the purple the the pink this is apricot this is purple it seems like whoever made those names is like color blind this is cranberry and uh can you guess what color this is white i' hope no it's snow puff yeah but all the other ones are named by colors okay do you want purple I don't know is this I don't think this is going to match your no no no I'm not doing it it's not going to match it's going to clash you get apricot instead well sucks me you oh here you know what we should do I got this look at this look at that oh yeah that thing's great okay maybe we will pull your gios in these look perfect look how good my sticks in status is doing for holding everything up huh yeah it's actually a good technique see does that look good aren't you glad that I ignored your request for the color that doesn't match maybe we'll do something I never do maybe we won't over stuff this bouquet well you do that's don't use it as an excuse to not put some Lian this in there no no I'll put Lian I thought you were trying to we but you only get a couple because I do want to sell them I have to dig through and find the ones that are very short I'm not going to like take my tall ones then cut the stem off just for you like look this is like you should go and pick the ones that are I I want you to pick them based on which one would look the best in the bouquet not pick them just giving me the leftovers M this one right down here in the bottom of the bucket the best the best one I've ever seen oh really yeah oh sweet that was lucky that's I'm digging to find all these best the best of the best you know what would actually be really good in this maybe good enough to go outside and go pick what it really needs is green lizy an this oh yeah that's you know totally should should we go get green Lizzy empist to finish it sure we this is really pretty I know I like it a lot let's go okayer I can't decide that I need more flowers tonight I just got to use what I have CU this my players are going it's too late but we can go into the [Music] greenhouse look at that [Music] okay how about that or maybe I should get [Music] some there is that pretty good handful yeah for your $0000 B overcharging me you want to get any sort of like friends and family discount yeah you get the free discount so that we don't have to pay taxes on me giving you a bouquet but should be $100 you should appreciate all [Music] right we said we weren't going to overstuff this so we could stop here but then we went we picked all these Lizzy at this so now we're going to do you L yourself now we're going to go for [Music] it you know when you look down at it it like you maybe don't see the money but then when you're sitting and it's at the table Yeah right then it's then it's fine [Music] there we go there's your dalas all done up and you better not sell it I'll just put it in the stand for it to look good better not do that you got to go put it on the kitchen table and enjoy it because I like this face so well I have to pack the truck and then go to bed cuz it's like okay I have to make another few buckets too many flowers I don't know where to put this okay I need to get done see [Music] [Music] you it's 3:00 and I'm finished and the bouquets look amazing so I'm super happy I ended up making almost 90 maybe 90 the stand's been so busy that you know I want 20 for the stand for tomorrow and we did 1,300 last weekend so if we send 70 down to the market you know maybe there's a chance we can do it again we'll have to wait and see [Music] what do you think B are you ready for bed nothing thing says late season farmers market like waking up to Darkness I'm really excited for today I know we've had some challenges with our Wednesday Market but uh the bouquet look amazing and we've had a couple good Saturdays in a row so I'm hoping that that part of the trend continues maybe we'll have a really good market and a really good roadside stand day that would be great Serena made 90 bouquets which is crazy and uh 20 of them I'm going to put up in the stand 70 of them I'm going to bring down to the [Music] market it's going to be a little bit of a challenge to get all these bouquets to fit the dried flower bouquets that Nelly made look so good I don't really want to throw them in a rubber made tote so I want to bring them inside the cab which means more flowers are going outside the cab oh man okay no more talking to this camera I need to get [Music] busy [Music] [Music] [Music] n nah nah n nah nah n [Applause] [Music] you take it off every little bit it's 8:00 the market is open I got set up just in time so it was busy busy this morning I'm already feeling feeling it but uh we sold two bouquets so that's that's a good start and the colors and the stand look amazing it looks so good here um with the dried flowers that Nelly made too I'm just really excited about uh what what's going to happen today if we don't sell five of these dried flowers today then I will be surprised it's just after 9:00 and things are going okay last week I think by 945 we'd only sold like five bouquets or something and that's kind of been a trend for the last few markets where it's been you know really slow at the start uh but then there's like a crazy Rush 10:00 it just goes crazy till the end of the market I'm not too concerned about a bit of a slower start but you know this is actually pretty strong cuz we you know we sold 200 bucks so you know like that's decent if that's the slow part and we get that big rush then you know maybe we could sell all 70 of these bouquets today it is funny how people's tastes change as the season goes on so far today the coral bouquets and the pink bouquet are the ones that have been selling and you know they've almost been the only ones that have sold so far so uh is you know those ones aren't always the first to go but this week [Music] it's 10:30 so we're halfway through the market and we're halfway to our goal of $1,000 we're at 500 bucks sold a bunch of dried flowers I think we sold three of those already as soon as we start making some more dried flour bouquets they sell so you know things are Trucking along I'm going to take advantage of a quick break it's been crazy I just sold uh $200 in 15 minutes that's a lot of bouquet and uh it's 11:00 we're just over a th so you know it's a good day we're Trucking along we got another hour to uh you know see what we can get and you know it's already successful so I'm I'm pretty happy the market is about to end we ended up making it to 1,00 so that's pretty good that's three straight markets over a th000 that's you know what we're hoping to do so after a very poor showing on Wednesday we ended up having some really good days at the roadside stand and then a
