hello friends welcome back to severe CAD in this tutorial video I'll explain the procedure to convert a PDF file to a drawing file and scale the drawing file to mass for the dimensions in the PDF file [Music] before exploring the topic I request all of you to subscribe to my youtube channel severe cat if you haven't subscribed already and hit the bell icon to get instant updates on my future video uploads thank you so let's get started first of all I'll import a PDF file to AutoCAD drawing so I'll click on the application button then import PDF now I am asked to select the PDF overlay and I have file as a default option so I'll just give an enter to execute that option now I'll select for the PDF file from the desktop and I have a particular PDF file over here and I'll give open and this PDF file is made up of a number of pages and I'll select this particular page which is a 13th page and I'll give ok now you can see that the PDF file is imported to AutoCAD now let's check the dimensions for example let's take this reference dimension here the dimension is 22.5 now let's find out this distance and check whether it is 20 to 0.5 so I'll click on the measure tool then I'll click on distance and I'll select this endpoint as well as this endpoint and you can see that the distance is one point seven seven one seven only so I have to actually scale up this drawing and how will you find out that scale factor you can easily find out the scale factor by dividing 22.5 by one point seven seven one seven to perform the divisional operation I'm going to make use of the quick calculator in AutoCAD so I'll give the command calc now I have got this calculator interface you can perform a number of functions using this calculator we'll have an exclusive video on this later now I am going to divide 22.5 by one point double seven point seven now I've got the result as 12.6 double nine double six seven so let's give the scaled command so I'll go to Home tab and I'll click on scale from the modify panel when I'm asked to select objects I'll give all because I want to scale the entire drawing now I am asked to select the base point I'll choose the origin as the base point so I'll give zero comma zero now I am asked to give the scale factor which is twelve point six double nine double six seven now the drawing has gone outside the screen I'll double tap the scroll wheel to bring it within the screen there is a zoom extents now I'll close that quick calculator now I'll erase this dimension next I'll perform a dimension so I'll go to annotate linear I'll choose this as a first extension line origin this as a second extension line origin and I'll pick a point over here now I have to scale the dimensions so I'll go to dimension style manager click on modify under the fit tab I have an option by which you can change the overall scale factor so I'll take ten now I'll go to primary units and set the number of decimal places to 2 and I'll give ok and close now you can see that the dimension is exactly twenty two point five so this is how you import a PDF file to AutoCAD and scale the drawing to mass with the exact dimension in the PDF file hope this video was useful please hit the like button of this video if you liked it I once again request you to subscribe to my youtube channel Sabir cat where cat training is made easy also don't forget to visit Sabir cat or teachable com we're in AutoCAD 2d 3d is taught from basic to advanced project-based you can also learn 3d visualization using AutoCAD 3d 3ds Max and Adobe Photoshop and this website once you control the courses you will get lifetime account means there is no deadline or time limit to complete the courses you will also get on future editions of lessons for free you can get all your queries answered through whatsapp chat and mail [Music] you
