I was contacted by a local gun collector who claims to have a very interesting flint lock rifle he would like to sell he's never fired the weapon but is totally interested in seeing if it works so we're meeting up at a gun range to see if there's a shot and making a deal here you must be Rick I am well I'm Rick so this is the weird swivel breach loading fitlog yes it's a uh Queen Anne 65 caliber flint lock rifle built in the 1700s okay I'm so glad you called me about this I mean I own a couple really weird breach loading FL locks a few things like that but this one is really fancy looking where did you get it I got it back east in a in an auction okay looks like it had some gold scroll work on it at one time it did That's What attracted my attention to it was the detail work so that sort of looks like a FLIR of Lee right there an odd one but it looks like that but you sure it's Twan English I'm sure okay it is yeah okay that early 1700s I mean for hundreds of years the Holy Grail was to find a practical functioning breach loading rifle because let's face it you know grabbing your gun turning it this way pouring powder down with the ram rod and everything else like that it was slow I got to admit I'm fasinated so how much you looking for 12,000 all right so I called my gun guy Alex he said he was going to bring a bunch of different caliber bullets black powder everything we need and if you're up to fire it we'll shoot it sure yeah no problem I'll be right back I'm going to give him a call okay look at this beauty hey I'm Alex I'm Rick nice to meet you to meet you well the one weird thing I have with this gun he says it's Queen an that doesn't that look sort of like a FLIR of Lee right there so you're thinking it's French it looks like that that does look a bit like a FLIR of Lee although I think it's really more of a grotesque mask see the face yeah but yeah I do think it's English and as a collector we would refer to this as a Queen Anne period gun so Queen Anne reigned from 1702 to 1714 was it made exactly then hard to say but it definitely is of the style of a queen and Firearm so you have a round Barrel moving to octagonal um it's a carbine length oh that's neat oh is it a brake open it is that's awesome so this oh that is so cool so that's a removable chamber essentially so this is like a removable reusable steel cartridge you see the little touch hole okay so you load this put it in here close it and then fire it and if you have a second or third one of these it's a very easy quick reload put a new one in and go so like that's like the first cartridge gun more or less yeah okay do you think it still works think it's even safe to shoot let me just check the tension of the hammer okay so it it it holds on half coock that's really important it holds on full yeah and it's strong that's that main spring is very strong all right you do what you got to do with the gun okay Chum said he put some Targets in the back of the car for me who knows what it'll be y I know if it's Chum it's probably Crea y okay it's not paper targets I know that I just hope I can hit them are those flowers they're ceramic cowboy boots planter thingies doesn't matter we're gonna shoot them all right I'm gonna load it up okay there's the shot a little wadding all right I'm going to head down there okay I'm going to put my ears in 3 2 1 yes godone gone oh that's hard to shoot that was awesome it works it totally works this is super cool it is what do you think this is worth so there aren't many examples like this and the thing that sets this apart is that removable and reusable cartridge that's very rare and the Sid swing breach opening so because of that and how early it is this is a very collectible gun I think the range would be somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 so if we split it down the middle 17,500 okay maybe this guy can make a deal maybe I will leave you to it okay I will come back and get my stuff than you sir good luck okay you're asking $112,000 and I think that's a really fair price I mean cuz it's going to take me a long time to sell this so but if if you're willing to take 12,000 I'm willing to pay it outstanding sounds good to me all right deal thank you sir yeah just come with me I'll get your info I'll get you paid [Music]
