PAVING IN THE RAIN IN JUNE?

hey guys I have been on standby at the asphalt plant here for like an hour it is raining and honestly I was wondering if we were going to get cancelled but I did just get the call that it is time to get loaded so that is what I'm going to do now we're going to PVE in the rain okay we got got it all taken care of there now we're going to go make sure we're on the right Channel Yonder bd1 coming to get loaded with asphalt it's kind of garbled he said Silo 3 right first I can't understand what he's saying can you hear me I can now that I couldn't hear you before 4 is the first one you drive under so back up I thought you said thought you said Silo 3 but okay all right okay get loaded go pave in the rain everybody loves Paving in the rain they have a a read out your weight a lot of these scales that are underneath the asphalt plants don't have like a read out of your weight so that's cool I wonder if that box out there is the printer I haven't been here in a really long time I always had to go into the office to sign your paperwork before and it would be a lot easier if you could just pick it up out there I wasn't supposed to work today and so I had no plans on coming to work and then I was sound asleep at 6:30 this morning and I got a phone call asked me if I wanted to work they had a truck call out and I was like absolutely so here I am we got some noise we got something happening oh usually when you get loaded with asphalt it doesn't sound like that that sound of like a giant rock just hit the Box oh CU they dropped the whole load all at once that's crazy M you got it thanks okay is the tickets out here I haven't I haven't done this in a long time here y but they're in the gr box okay great thanks go get my ticket okay drop Backle Got My Ticket okay let's go now today we are going to an apartment complex well I guess we were there in the last video but we were doing the grinding but yeah like I said I wasn't supposed to be a part of that Paving crew and just so happens with somebody else didn't or basically said they weren't coming this morning and here I am pretty exciting so we're in Everett right now and it's like a 30 minute drive depending on traffic I didn't check traffic cuz I don't really care but yeah so now we're just going to head down to the lwood Edmonds area and go pave we'll see how this goes uh this is a Paving crew I've never worked with before and just like the grinding crew last week never worked with that grinding crew before it's always a new experience because you never know how the operator really likes to do things until you've actually worked with them so let's go check this out door is still open [Music] w [Music] all right we're turning back into the apartment complex here other truck is right behind me they did say that we were going to be Paving where they started grinding which was up here I think yeah on this one yeah and keep going straight back here they're up the middle okay [Music] [Music] this is going to be one of those Paving days that's weird it's not just like a whole Road it's like little patches the other fun thing about this again is is the people people that live here in and out constantly it's definitely doable of course going to get out and spray the tailgate with some pave Pro and check in with the man in charge I think it's going to be very quick I do have good news though the body shop has my new hood they've had it for a week or so but hopefully they're going to have a chance to paint it this week and then maybe next weekend or next week sometime we'll be able to go get all of the stuff taken off this hood and put on to that hood and get it on the truck I'm so excited about having a nice pretty Hood it doesn't have a big patch in it from being ripped apart pretty excited I have a camera with a battery that's about to die so hopefully we can get this done before the battery dies but that's like how it goes I grabbed the camera and I was going to change the battery and then they seem to be setting up to like actually start Paving so then I had to stick the camera back and just hope that but it has enough battery to get through this one we'll see all right back up oh that almost my I can see apparently he's going to come to me never paid with this crew hopefully it goes well down never been in a p where the asphalt falls out the front like that there's no like lip okay there's a ton of asphalt on the ground that not because I fell out of the paper but because there's like no guard on the front to keep it from falling out it's weird ooh this is the point in the video where you cue the comments of if she did that on my job I'd kick her off the job hey he's on the move I think today's going to be a little bit of a long day that's okay I'm just happy to be working f tell me to go down here I'm guessing they're going to start on this part over here pull up right here hope I'm out of the way how many of you guys have paved like this like PVE where you just dump a little in the paer and then drive away and then come back and give him a little more it's not something I'm used to pull up this paper is like literally the width of the truck h I know what that means okay up that's our universal symbol but we're going to push you okay little bit of break you down and almost okay okay apparently they uh they have a special symbol for they're going to push you I'm just used to being pushed so I know you guys can't see it but my my tires are not rolling at all they're just pushing me in the dirt but if I let off the brakes I roll forward oh is it empty empty you're empty okay okay let them empty oh down here what is this person doing okay I was going to let them go by me and then back up and go around you sorry I'm going to go down here and make sure the back of the truck is not a bunch of asphalt chunks on it right here and then we go back for another load okay my scraper get my pay Pro got my mess of junk scraper yeah see there's that something almost always got a rock stuck in there hi okay looks good oh this is an extra extra couple branches for me something is sing is I don't know what the squealing is okay well P our window up get rolling out of here go get another load of asphalt and try to pave the rest of this I think this is going to be a little bit of a long day we got to pave all of these spots we've driven through [Music] plus all this up here there's a bunch of spots over here down this side road here that we were grinding on and then over here down this other side road that we were grinding on so yeah this the rain and you know the 8 hour minimum helps definitely helps was like a 7h hour day so you get an extra hour so if I get home within the next hour which we'll see traffic doesn't look very good but if I get home in the next hour that means I got paid for most the time I was out driving around today which was great but I'm excited to be heading home now because Davey has volleyball tonight and I'm going to be able to drive her I was prepared to just drive the truck to her game and you know not be able to drive with her but all in all it's a good day well thank you guys so much for watching
