but there have been times in your life and my life i'm doing it without permission yeah well there's a testimony in here that know for yourself that you don't cry about your situation you don't hit your car but they're already taking it you act like you're on vacation but you really don't have a job and you crying to the lord and say lord do something about this mess in fact you got me in this thing what you gonna do now and god is silent it is yeah the silence of god that teaches us that he is the protector of our souls is the silence of god that teaches us not to get into the things that would normally kill us oh yeah if the silence of god that god is always in control joseph simply says you meant it for evil but god meant it for good notice everything that joseph went through every time they tried to trick him up and do him wrong and and this is free be careful who you tell your dreams to oh yeah but i'm glad tonight that every time they went to try to get rid of him the text says and god was with him and you wonder why you ain't lost your mind tonight you wonder why you ain't in a uh-huh crazy house you won't know why you ain't on the street corner with a sign saying i need some help you wonder why you still in the church i tell you why grace god bless you tonight grace is right there when you need anybody here no god's grace did you hear what i said god grace oh yeah i cried to the loud uh three times take me out of this situation move everything from me but god said i'm not gonna do it when god says no it's knowing just knowing one thing that they that wait upon the lord shall renew your strength anybody here tonight that can handle your thoughts i'm leaving when i tell you as a seminary student at american baptist college in 1981 i was glad just to get to american baptist college my father in the ministry dr a camel jr wanted me to go to bishop the mama didn't have no bishop money so she said he said go to abt and i got there i was down one night i felt like giving up but you know we had chapel every wednesday morning can i get a win and chapel that morning i got up out of my days yeah and went on the chapel and the speaker that day was the late dr sandy ray did you hear what i said and i heard sandy preaching a sermon that they hold on help is on the way it seemed like god taylor made that sermon for my situation i enjoyed it and then he got to the end of it and he told a story and i like to share with you tonight he said while he was at morehouse college he felt like giving up one night he was in the dormitory he was writing a letter to his mother after receiving news from the dean of affairs that he wasn't gonna be in school no more he said dear mother dear mother this is sandy the dean of schools has told me to come home and while he was writing he heard somebody singing a happy song yeah but he kept on writing he said mama i know you don't have no money to send me i'm on my way home but right then the song got familiar to him and so he got up and wanted to see who was singing a song he said how could anybody sing a happy song when i'm so sad he walked out the dormitory and and got downstairs and he looked outside he saw an old man who had holes in his shoes he saw an old man who had cataracts on his eyes he saw an old man getting food out of garbage can he saw an old man eating on the garbage can and sandy said the song he was singing why should i feel discouraged should the shadows come when jesus portion a constant friend is he his eye is on the spiral i know he watches over me i sing because i'm happy i sing because i'm free ain't it all right you
