Paper Mario (All Bosses) by Yoshi_Zilla (RPG Limit Break 2019 Part 36)

[Music] still waiting on the on the screen transition over there yeah there's a very high chance that might get pushed through your shoe I got this alright we good yeah looks like we're all ready to go on the layout there as well do an introduction first all right so hello everyone I'm Yoshi Zilla you may you may recognize me from last year when I did thousand adorable guess what we're doing the original Paper Mario so I want to thank everyone for donating towards the glitch exhibition I'm very excited to off by the end of the run let's do a quick roll call on the couch I am Andy perfect I am ghost Kubo and so Ora who is just the runner of the world then you also read this game you'll be couching for us however he had to go get some breakfast because being here for over eight a little bit much without some food yeah you don't missing much the start of this game is a little slow yeah so the last time Paper Mario was in RPG Limit Break it was actually glitchless which was ran by that man right there and drifting's guys or doctors guys that forget changed his name but this time we have a glitched category which is all bosses and you're gonna have to see a lot of the game and well we're not gonna exactly be all the bosses in the correct order but we're gonna be all the bosses so yeah anyways with that good to go all right let's play some Paper Mario in three two one go [Applause] so welcome to the og Paper Mario so one thing that is already very great about this game is you'll lose no time on tech smashing because well you don't have to match text all you have to do is just hold the B button so for like almost the entirety of prologue I'm just gonna be holding me to scroll through text and as you'll notice we're running on the Japanese version so apart from saving about eight ish minutes on tax it varies on category Japanese has a few version exclusive glitches that make the run considerably faster oh sorry here here's Luigi hopefully we won't see him again oh yeah for people who do not know at the end of the run there is a little skip called Luigi Luigi skip and there is a bid war for that so if you don't want to see the ouija at the end of the game donate for him to not come to the party every time he comes to the party he never does anything in the room just to update check on that bid war we are currently in $625 and 10 cents to bring Luigi to the party and $65 so movement is pretty unique in this game that so basically you can just mash help or in this case well L in my case but it's actually ZL man 64 to spin and at the end I'm basically doing a small jump out of the battle or not how about I just out of the spin because if you just spin normally then at the end you'll get a little bit delaying just spinning Lexton in place and we don't want that so I'm either trying to get spin cancels which you may have seen off those stairs or I'm just jumping at the end those spin can suspend cancels that Yoshi was docked I was just whenever you like change change level or change gradient or something like that to go up or down on the terrain optimizing spin movement is one of the key components of getting at a high level on this run so basically just at this story as much as I love as much as I love this game it takes a while until the like thousand-year door before they kind of a little put a little bit more work into the scenario and the story writing so it's really just Bowser kidnaps the princess I mean isn't that all this this time he does something cool he buries his castle under hers and just raises it up to the sky which how he did I have no idea I mean he has curvy star rod he can do whatever he wants yes that is literally what happens Bowser goes to the Haven of the stars and steals the Star Rod which congruent wishes alright guys so let's see if we can beat Bowser I think we have a chance we've beaten him many times sorry here's something I'm actually doing is I'm uh I'm actually mashing a to get something called a quick jump because basically you can either mash a or press a on the certain frame and it will cut more as animation right into his jump so it saves like about a couple frames or so yes if I remember right somewhere between like 8 to 12 I don't know the exact number but since we're gonna be doing quite a few jump attacks it saves many seconds over the course of the run this jumping is gonna be the main food a magician Spencer uses the star rod here and he is now invincible no no this is not looking good all right let's see maybe with this jump dang it we couldn't even beat the first boss [Music] run over yeah so then we're dead so you can actually hack this fight to try and do more damage than Bowser's program to have health and if you do that the game just hard crashes we're dead that is unwinnable and now Bowser has the princess and her castle and we may or may not be falling to our death horse were made of paper so and we are falling back to earth unfortunate and Sally I don't know if the there's a prologue even feature any glitches in any category it's very very open the Mario story everyone I like my favorites Mario story this is the Japanese name for this game originally it was kind of trying to be Mario RPG - but it's different studio than the square and Nintendo and Square did not collaborate for a very long time so the developer team for this game is intelligent systems who are most known for the Fire Emblem series as well as the thanks Kirby so also the soundtrack of this game which I actually think it's kind of underrated is composed by so you get you kazoo gioco who composed most of the early fire emblems I think there's a few songs that you can actually hear some comparison to so right here the start spirits are trying to provide Mario yeah Bowser we were basically trapped all the star spirits in the car so you need to go get the seven of them back we're not but there is a category called Ark all cards win which you technically have to specifically touch each of the star score cards yeah doesn't matter how you go about doing that and there's some glitches cutscenes yeah that's why it's not called all star spirits for instance you can probably fit in a couple donations all right and they certainly have some Shaunie seven one eight one four seven eight dollars he says hi Yoshi hi Shan II smorg donates $10 Smaug there that I got a little spin hands off that table so that's kind of an example of getting us been canceled because it's actually better to click the ledge to cancel your spin instead of jumping it looks like a little bit faster so anytime there's an opportunity for like a Ledge or just something for me to click on I will try to get something hits on there this kind of introduces you to the world of Paper Mario this is the world in which you actually go around the Mushroom Kingdom and find these NPC characters who are kind of good guy or just regular full versions of enemies you seen throughout the series this is the Goomba village these goombas just kind of live way off on their own little rustic setting so now what we need to do is find our way back to the back to the castle town of toad town I make our way through the goober village unfortunately something's not right here yeah so the veranda that was on here just completely fell and we're gonna have to find out what happened to the GUP Goomba the Grandpa Goomba cuz all the names in this game are kind of funny when there was one of the few instances you actually see anything to do with this game being paper they don't actually implement that into the game mechanics until the second game so I guess going into the all boss catagory talked a bit about it some we will be beating every boss this includes all the chapter bosses all the optional bosses every single Jewish group but the dojo boss is the anti guys just really anything that for that point is fine got it so there's actually a glitch here there's gonna be a tutorial boss fight coming up here that you could skip in some of the categories this game but because we're doing all the bosses we will be doing this one to this technically counts as a boss yes it's it's jr. Troopa we must fight them yeah so we're gonna see a lot of this guy I want to say there's five total fights in the run if not six and every single one features a new gimmick yeah you've learned a skill recently that allows you to fight in a casual setting Jared jr. troupis should usually be fairly easy he's kind of like a stats check to like test whether or not you know the mechanics of the game well enough to proceed there thereafter if you ever died to this fight you either do it did it on purpose or I don't know because the way did theirs you would have to literally say to do nothing for the entire point yep so he has 5 HP I'm not even aware of what happens when you're dining just as first instant rattling [Music] and right here he says I mean it I'll be back yeah he will be back he's not lying so now we got the hammer so we're allowed to you can break blocks now so that's that's pretty cool so I'm getting a fire flower items are gonna be pretty important throughout the run they're going to allow us to do a lot of damage at least for the early game and a little bit in the late game because since tomorrow is gonna be such a low level he's not gonna be doing it that much damage until we get a specific batch so fire flowers are an item that you use yield three fire damage to all enemies I do say fire because there are elemental properties some enemies are resist urge resistant to it some enemies die instantly when hit by fire like the bombs for instance so three damage you know coming off of some of the other RPGs in this marathon does not sound like much the damage figures in the Paper Mario series a kind of the Mario RPG series of general are pretty low generally games right young people who don't have to do a whole lot of math can kind of follow along with but in actually England's well to their longevity in there don't really have to like it like really numbers don't in the numbers inflating doesn't really change a whole lot so now we have our first partner game barrio the music you get when you get a new party partner in this game is actually different from the North American Beauty version and there's a few music changes between the two I don't know why so gonna immediately even clip our jump because we're gonna be using it so right here is a very very hard screen because of those Goomba this is just a very narrow path but thankfully you can move around them quite easily but it's kind of hard alright let's see if I get the thing I did the thing so that's another swag hammer it's basically I just hammer as I'm entering a cutscene I just ignore the goober Bruce yep I'm just like I'm not I'm not gonna face you so you don't have a whole lot of options in combat right now the one thing we're really trying to do as far as strats go for this fight is we want to kill the both of them at the same time because if you kill one first there's a fairly lengthy text text box slash animation that you have to sit through so even though you do have to sit through an extra attack it's still faster oh hi Oreo I Ora you got here right in the middle prologue so you're not missing much you've got my failure cut paper Chloe oh wow I just I just guess oh yeah we have Yoshi's brought some he or she plushies for them speaking of these adorable Yoshi plushies just on the couch right behind her couch you can see that there are some adorable Mario and Luigi cat plushies and for a donation of $15 you can be in the running to win these plushies so if you like those plushies please donate as per usual Mario's on the top of the bottom these are not for sale yes not the Yoshi plushies so the Goomba bros after getting thoroughly stomps literally they go back to their to their leader the Goomba king who is sort of the roadblock of the prologue you might recognize this character from Super Mario 64 DS but he debuts in this game under a different [Music] interesting mechanic that has never seen anywhere else in the video game you can actually attack the background there's a set of chestnuts here I think this is really to teach you that you can switch targets I guess and it actually does more damage if you hit hit it with guevara than if you deal with Mario and does three damage to each of them the two Goomba bros are weak so they die instantly the Goomba in here has 10 HP it's a pretty standard fight so he's dead right here so Goomba king is kind of considered the pro-life boss so he's pretty easy all right so now coming up is the first glitch of the run which it's very minor to say like a second but it's pretty cool so let's see if I can get it there we go nice you can hit the switch as it's spawning so by doing that saves about a second but it's actually Virtual Console only it crashes on the n64 yeah so we're running on the Wii U Virtual Console here which saves a couple minutes to loads yeah seems like we haven't done official timing everyone just guesses which is not really the proper way but probably for all bosses it's probably around a half or something I believe and I believe the Wii U version is the fastest version across all categories mm-hm so yeah there's three different versions that you can run this game on you can run out on the n64 of course you can run out on the Wii Virtual Console which is the slowest than n64 second fastest and you can run on the Wii U Virtual Console which is what I'm running on which is the fastest overall this character here her name is a candy koopa sorry but in thousand-year door last year but basically she's one of Bowser's head underlings and so she kind of serves as like a as a spy to kind of keep an idea of what Mario is up to the first during these cutscenes if we don't really have much to talk about to the Cooper Bros will be the boss of shooting star summit to go meet up with the stars spirits because we kind of skipped it we're skipping a lot of texts it's also Japanese so we can understand it but basically so basically the star spirits are like saying hey you need to meet up with us okay so you know takes us around 15 minutes to meet up with them or whatever our time is that see a lot of spin cancels up the up those stairs also our partner just kind of zipped back up to us yeah they'd like to do that yes so for anyone familiar with thousand or not this one our partners do not take damage in combat so they're mainly useful for additional turns it's not have quite as much combat death as thousand-year door but it makes up for it and sort of like movement ability and its own unique kind of charm to it so here we're getting another peach cutscene and this is where we get introduced to twink who sort of serves as Peach's liaison to like contact point with mario twinks main function is to just inform you of important story related things like hey you should go here next a lot of the peach scenes usually revolve around peach discovering where the next our spirit is hidden and then twink relays the information to Mario and then that sends you off on your way I'd like to see if the host could do a twink impression when he comes I just make him sound very cute I think that needs applause all right so yeah we're thankfully nearing the end of prologue prologue is twice thankfully yes part is wonderful know we had some prologue no feel like it's slow we need more Gucci's what do you see he's asking if this runs glitched everything in this run is intentional yes so we would probably be able to skip skip this part except toad get around sorry toad twink gives us the anime reference here and yeah this is the lucky star it lets us use action commands which are timed hits and those blue are damaged considerably yes so now instead of mashing a to do a quick jump I'm actually just going to be timing it oh by the way for those who like goombario it's kind of useless throughout the run sorry all right so coming up is the first glitch and what you may have seen me do right here is I switched controllers because I use a classic controller for specific glitches but uh or would you like to explain first or well second glitch coming up so yeah this is gonna be black toad skip there's gonna be some block toads that may or may not be the Cooper brothers we'll leave that up to speculation but there's a little bit of a back and forth we have to do with going into Merlin's house and telling him that there's these block toads in the way and we're just gonna skip all that we're actually gonna be going out of bounds and out of bounds in this game is a little interesting so when you go to bounds and fall off the edge of the any of the worlds you're popped back up to the nearest like stainable spot you can so we're gonna try to clip out with this toad here if he cooperates oh let's go with Hugo because Koala prints us of all the names you have to choose that one it's relevant so we're gonna get launched back up here and we're gonna land in the corner of the post office ideally and then we're basically going to be navigating out of bounds around sort of the top right corner of this section of the screen and it's basically gonna land us right in the organiz own and we're just gonna go right past them [Applause] like a rose thing that probably stays 30 seconds a minute or so of yeah is this big long cutscene with Merlin like zapping the toads and revealing that the other Cooper brothers and all this nonsense also he bores Mario if you hit that tree and then collect the cob walk around the same time the switch actually spawns as you're grabbing the padlocks though like saves like a second or so unfortunately didn't get it wait again you blood toad skip is actually evolved quite a lot over the years - there used to be a couple other versions of it there used to be a method that just skipped Merlin you just flipped out of bounds with that same toad and just went right into Merlin's house and skipped a little bit of the back and forth but not quite all of it there was another version of block toad skip as well aware you'd go around the bottom right instead of the top right walk on the scene of the level and then fall into the out of balance load examines like that is very annoying yes the turtle shells which should not be biologically possible okay he's literally stealing their skeletons this is Cooper so Merlin in a in the cutscene informed as we need to find a blue shell Cooper well here he is he's gonna be our second party of partner up the game chase sucker down [Music] it's kind of interesting in this game this game features very little RNG compared to a lot of RPGs you might be used to we include so much orange you talk about and the times that it doesn't include a little bit of RNG it's very minimal and this is one of those times where there's just a very small amount of rng that can save or lose you a little bit of time you see yeah you say this there isn't a whole lot of like RNG like factors but where orangie does come into play is little commercial and it hits our four it hits hard thankfully for all bosses there's not too much RNG that will kill your run except for one point and match to put the beat and anyone else knows yeah so it's kind of hard to tell sometimes cuz he go so fast but a quick little fact if it's an even number he's either in the same tree or the second tree over or if it's an odd number he's in one of the other trees so it may look like he would have been the same tree but since it was a 7 bounce it was actually in the other one so shots again who has failed that minigame many times it's not the fuzzies attack they only have 3 HP though which is why we have that fire flower from the very beginning of the game [Music] they're dead yeah this fight kind of teaches you about attacks for meeting your moldable enemies Cooper has a skill called PowerShell which hits all enemies for to damage we're really gonna use that we're gonna use with any bars guevara is useful for one fight in chapter 4 but due to me doing a safe strat I'm not gonna do it [Music] that money is pretty important in this run there are a couple extra coins I can grab in the village if we need to we should gon take the quiz before I received $25 from Zilla mom thanks for bringing me along way through the window for me oh my gosh I wonder how many people are gonna know that reference probably not alone all right so this coop this parent revisit sure Korey Kuhl there's a lot of hidden items in this game later on we're gonna get a party member who as we see invisible blocks so that's kind of a way if you really want to definitely wrap this game out in a casual playthrough just check every screen for these hidden items we get that partner but we already know that that's there so usually the location is fairly obvious but not always [Music] black of this freakin AdWords like oh she where is he already here assume a notice I'm skipping a bunch of enemies so basically every enemy that's not boss or a for spy like this I'm just gonna be skipping or else I'll get into an encounter which wastes about ten seconds every time so I want to avoid as much as I can throughout the run and especially the time loss because in early game your coin your coin count is extremely important whenever you run from fights we specifically need to have 50 coins when we get back to toad town after chapter 1 for a bad so we're gonna be picking up so right there he just leveled up like an RPG level up this game what they do is they let you level up it's an RPG yep so leveling up in this game lets you uh lets you increase your hpfp or BP HP is obviously run at die FP is your kind of your resource like magic points and then BP is bad points so the only form of equipment really in this game is badges also doing a glitch right there flip through the same here and just kind of excuse out of bounce to just skip over to the store that we're not really supposed to get to for a little while anyways BP is required to equip badges some badges require more BP and once you run out of that you can unclip anymore so that's really our kind of equipment resource so right there you may have no smari oh it's literally paper-thin so you can just kind of click through the stairs and it skips the pit fights temporarily because we want to have bomb bat for the pit fights instead it's a little better it's using this cutscene to switch controllers so here in this prison we're gonna get a third party member which is AB a bomb and her name is Babette and she is cute so Yoshi what do you what do you find useful about switching the controllers what do you find advantageous for each one basically when it comes to certain see movement tricks or like just kind of directional tricks I use the classic controller because the directions are better than game controller the defect kind of stinks on the GameCube controller yeah it really does and it doesn't help that I have an adapter called the raft net which it kind of messes with your angles a little bit so basically I just kind of avoid that by using a classic enjoy so you'll see me switching controller as a couple times throughout the run so bombette exit here explodes and breaks out of prison she actually references this and she just says wait why he says wait are you asking me why I didn't do that before she says well I just kind of got really angry here and blow up a bunch of blood something to do that all right so this is random is exp is tightly routed in this category as it is another so hopefully doesn't fail again so we have to use in there fright jar so everyone less aren't you coming up right here we're gonna attempt to first strike the paratrooper here with bomb that it's a little tougher than it may seem so let's see if I can get it that's gonna do for damage to bill it instantly save a little bit of time they can just all right and now we have to use the parterre one more time the good thing is is leveling like over leveling isn't really that big of a deal so if I if this does fail it will be fine but uh bless orangey yeah some points right jars here could actually available could actually that's very good freight cars obviously scare away and it means but you don't get exp but it is faster than killing them so it is an efficient use of resource to throw out the router when he's talking about routing experience it's it's too later on the run you'll often want to keep your HP low for a and whenever you level up it restores your HP if you and some of these some of the run from run to run are very tightly routed when it comes to experience and leveling up to certain times and if it doesn't have a level up happens at a time you're not expecting it to also you could be dealing with bosses in a way or enemies in a way that you can't without sitting at that 181 credit when HP critical amount a little known fact if you jumped over these fire up several times they dissipate and drop a bunch of coins that was really hard to you on the coin so I'm one point shorts I'm gonna have to go back to the Koopa village to get back which is fine only I was like the little rotating capes but I forgot the drops are nine points here's the key that we saw much earlier now that we have the map we could get that and that's gonna be like we can skip to that room where we have to fall to grab the bomb bet but we don't have a key to progress so yeah we get lucky we'll get her to get that key it's now coming up here R is not actually glitch it's uh literally a jump called high jumps found by the runner ironically called PI ie hi hopefully don't fail if I fail it I've to take the walk of shame back and lose thirty seconds but you can just jump around this wall and skip the puzzle those lines there we go nice he's trying to run away in stream big but but I stream Paper Mario say mi RA dream big yeah about as big as you can it's not as staircase gets lowered if we can finally break this crack and get the key that was in this Jail that the cuckoo Rose is like Mario you'll never get this we just did a little playful sense of humor to itself you'll never get this thing when you totally have craziest then in that fight we just used several the items we picked up to deal with those cannons pretty fast they have like two defense which is pretty bad at this point so here comes the chapter one boss so obviously the first the first boss is Bowser yes this is the final boss of the game right here getting a little preview watch out for his karate job all right [Music] dang yes he has one defense alright see if I can block his karate chop I did it it's nice you alright so get your sour please ready and check because we have one of the best songs of the game coming up oh yeah it's not gonna be there for very long so enjoy it while you can so here's the actual boss it's the Koopa rose let's go ahead and let you guys enjoy this music [Music] but sorry to say the music's so these coolers are very weak they only have 5 HP so we just bomb them to a knock it's not their tower over then use a POW block and then fire flower they're all dead so technically we don't actually have to collect this card okay what's that okay they're all in jail they have a picture piece to look at while they're sitting in jail like how the bombs were so kind as to repair the chain oh yeah as they escaped anyways so we wouldn't actually need to collect this star card because there are glitches to actually get to the next chapter however there is a box on the way there so for the all bosses route we do have to still get this card spend a lot of time in the beasts got Stan this is alt star the first of the star spirits once we collect each star spirit they give us a special ability which is a new resource called star points alt star uses one star point to heal your four five five HP and five FB we only save I believe for a three star spirits throughout the whole run so yeah if you like B chapter two three four five stars spirits sorry when I'll save them we don't get a bigger kick today we do not get to bake a cake today no that is the worst cuts yeah that's the soap cake there's literally category on the on the X category extension boards where you bake a cake you put sofa if you feed it to Vega and the category ends the second he spits it out it's such a clean taste there are all kinds of silly categories on the category extensions my favorite is 116 and 70 Starfleet's it's I think the most painful CAG or extension is consecutive LZs jumps yeah this is a frame perfect chumps I think the record is 160 something it's like I think one one ninety for him I have I have like 170 so so here we here we snoop on Bowser's on Bowser's diary and in the diary he says stuff about how he wants to defeat Mario how he has this giant crush on Peach and then information on where the next star spirit is so we got to go to the desert to the south this is also a really good - yeah I actually really enjoy how the peach segments have these sort of little clever ways of giving you this information it's not just like NPC tells you where to go it's like oh we're eavesdropping on Bowser's diary that's also one of most important dialog boxes to signo - yeah there's a long tour yeah you better say yes you may even notice me skipping almost all the tutorials that's because tutorials are slow we know what we're doing hid hint superstar saga hint hint alright so I do have 49 coins so I do need to take a little bit of a walk of shame to go get a backup coin but like it was orange ease fault because I didn't really explain this by like the way the coins spread after you jump ten times over it is completely random I just got absolutely horrible like so we're gonna quickly detour to Koopa village the topic on the fire bars is a little bit tighter too because there's quite a bit of an animation after you jump on them enough times before they actually like despawn and spawn coins so he ended up grabbing the key while that was d spawning and it gives you a little bit of a fighter at you there's a coin sorry bless you we received $25 from Watson this is my first donation to a whole bad shot optimal is I believe first try on the right yes yes it's a 75% chance but the world record for it is I believe 9th try so so point 25 to the power of 9 go for it you also have to go two screens away in order to reload the shop so it's really really bad to retry every time I read every time you need to retry it takes about 25 seconds all right let's see how lucky I am [Music] get off the couch goes he's not right yet we'll see we'll see how unlucky I am marathon luck man similar to charlatan and thousand-year door right here yeah kind of have to go at least two screens away to respawn the bad shot I told you team second try so the spin was just kind of something that exists in this game I'm not really sure why they put it in but like we're thankful they did because it speeds up movement considerably and they actually have a few badges built around its BB spin lets enhances the distance for each spin and there's also a dizzy spin where if you hit an enemy while you're spinning they get dizzy we're not going to do that but it's just kind of they actually put some thought into how that ability works we also picked up the first of four seeds that we're going to be needing to get into Chapter six so I'll be picking those up along the way as we're doing other stuff alright a train so little cutscene you're probably fit a donation in we received $15 from Ray hello I've been waiting for Paper Mario 64 months shoutouts to Strider 7x for showing me how broken this game is we also received $5 comment says yeah yeah yeah which roughly translates to good luck Yoshi shoutouts to spike vegeta in the crowd link alright so we found her chapter two so on we're obviously gonna beat this chapter right yes now obviously we have to do everything in orders there are bosses here so obviously we have to beat it yep also for everyone who is a fan of Wacha don't worry we're only giving one whack of them so you won't see that much Wacka abuse just a little bit just a little bit here's parakarry he's our next partner and he is a mailman cool costume so his whole thing is he kind of just terrible at his job he dropped mail all over this all over this pass so we need to go find it and this is Wacka and KB's favorite character alright that's the only way I hope we get in a hundred percent you actually kill Wacka Wacka drops whack of bugs every time you hit him up to eight and then on the eighth one he gives you a few additional points so whack up ups they're really useful because they sell for a ton of money and they heal for both 25 HP and 25 fps so really kind of take your pick which is honestly one of the best healing items so we have to go find off para carries letters there's a little bit of tech where you'll see him spin into an item and then hammer it and that actually saves just a little bit of time to do so yeah if you were spending and you go into an item account again you kind of finish the spinning animation in place before you actually pick up the item hammering wraps up the spin and immediately gets the item yeah it's roughly enough time for you to face pawn because you just you just you can just see that you just made a huge mistake that's really nice and the times it is using Cooper to pick up items as well because you can Cooper an item and then while Cooper is returning the item to you you could still move so you can make a little bit of a movement progress while the item is coming back to you yeah a lot of this rad is these tiny little optimizations like that so now we're gonna deliver the letters to parakarry and then we're gonna deliver the letters to pare carry and then he's gonna join our party skip him in the 80% category now we do not actually be still good night okay I know he's like I know he can be skip Parker is actually a very useful partner with glitches and he's also very useful for combat til now could like like Bombeck could do five damage on the ground parakarry can do like five in the air which is really useful for floating enemies all right so all I'm going to say for this next glitch let's see if I can break the curse yes coming up is blue house skip there is a blue house you skip into it because there's a tiny little part of the seam on the outside where you have one frame which in this game is one thirtieth of a second to make a second jump and angle it into the house you also specifically need to have a neutral stick input when you get the jump and then immediately switch to an upright angle and then rotate that into an up left angle in order to clip into the house this trick is extremely precise and definitely one of the hardest tricks in the game yeah so I ate your pie I got this trick first try in sgdq 2013 and since then I don't believe any marathon runners if I've got it first try sense so let's break the curse see 2019 let's go days since last incident zero hey spikey hey spike at PI say somebody's broken my heart was pounding so much I just wanted to break the curse that's all I wanted or I can runs over that's all I wanted to do Thank You bags that was the only boss in the game and we did it pack your bags up next is Chris Tallis my dragon and and that blue house cape is actually very difficult it's just to learn in the first place it can take runners several several hours each of practice and trial and error before they even get there for their very first attempt so here's the first example of where our G really comes into play in this game power bounce is so yeah so we bounce has what they call a cap you will know that you correctly powered bounced and you hit the cap when Mario kind of Springs off an enemy if you if you miss an input you just kind of falls off it's right here I drop to the ground so that means I failed it what you did on purpose yeah blooper there has 30 HP we fight this boss in pretty much every category because we have skip but yeah so it is kind of important that you don't get caps too hard we took the five now and those power bounces like every single or different bosses oh she's different bosses can have different thresholds at which they will cap you at and it's just totally random you could have like I say like a 2% chance of getting capital three bounces or an up - don't jinx and I'm sorry or and or and normally you can like an average you averaged you'll get capped at like five or maybe six bounces and it just depends from Boston Boston some bosses you kind of need some decent luck or just not bad luck you can get three or four capped and sometimes that will just straight-up kill your rug so progressively these games is kind of interesting it's based on certain triggers that make the game think that you're in a certain chapter when you're not so the game thinks we're in a chapter five state right now so a bunch of things are essentially triggered as done that happened chapter one through four so we're able to like sort of artificially or insert ourselves in the later point in the game and we're gonna actually have to reset ourselves back into the earlier chapters in order to those bosses for those chapters so we're basically coming in here grabbing sushi and then we're gonna be leaving pretty quickly afterwards yeah we're also gonna get a badge and his power Craig so I guess I didn't mention this but the order of chapters we do chapter one three five four two six seven eight so that's how you play this game right this is sushi she's sort of a mother figure to the Yoshi kids here so she desperately wants us to find the Yoshi kids I believe her name on the Japanese version is Susan there's a lot of name differences across the Mario series sue she's also probably probably my favorite or at least second favorite partner of this game by chapter 5 so now we're gonna go off to chapter 3 and we're gonna be fighting a bunch of gark dark hoopa's which is why i equipped a power quake there I'm also gonna purposely get it beginning first truck here because I want to get as close to the cam to 1 hp so we can easily take these guys out with just power quake [Music] ideally at the end of this fight he will drop either a flower or he'll drop a log I just need one of those things to save a little bit of time for later I don't want any hearts though if I get one heart it's fine if I get more than that's bad buta flower yes so by getting that flower drop I can skip using the honey syrup that I got earlier and use it for a different place later kind of the sewers of this game service a bit of a hub that you can use to basically access shortcuts to various locales in the game but since we've already skipped into chapter 5 we can use this as a way to get these warp pipes they'll take us to destinations like like the one forever forest in Chapter three so I'll say this really improves the sequence braking in this run so I dropped a block off to get rid of that later also he grabbed a jam and jelly from chapter 3 chapter 5 no seal 50 FP that is the actual cap of MP at this game so yeah late game items can be really useful also I should mention that the cutoff for the Stanley fate bid war is about to end soon so if you want Stanley to be saved or or not then get those last-minute donations and then because it's the cutoff is gonna be relatively soon so cut off for that is coming up soon we did get a $5 donation from astor 61 who said I wanted to donate this not only to give the charity but give to charity but tell us a wish my buddy Watson a happy birthday I hope this could spread out because I'm sure he's watching right now thank you for being such a good friend you mean a whole lot to me thanks to all the runners good luck thank you so now here comes a kind of annoying glitch no his record skips so I'm going to slightly push this boo and then I basically need to spin and jump in a way to interact with the chest it's very janky though yes this boo is guarding a treasure it has the weight in it set the weight on this handle ear earlier it's not actually there yeah so because we entered chapter 5 the game thought we finished chapter 3 so we actually have to reach trigger ourselves into chapter 3 in order to get the rest of the game to progress normally and actually so we can fight the bosses of chapter 3 you have to go through this whole little minigame to access that record and you have to play the record which plays the Mario under like a churro jazzy version is the Mario level 1 theme that dududududu to do and that will kind of cause the boo to dance and move out of out of place and that would be how you would have to get the weight normally but by accessing that little trick there it's a it's a fairly considerable amount of time so one thing actually we didn't touch on too much this games experience is sort of fixed you have to take you have to get 100 to level up every time and the game makes up for this by if you are lower level enemies will give you more star points or experience points in this case so that enemy mob that we fought back there gave us forty which is quite a lot so we're still level two right now so any any time we do get those encounters it is a big deal you remember which one it is so it's actually completely star debased how many times he throws it so he threw it nine times not including the first throw and that's like pretty bad the worst she get is ten so that gave us super boots that allows us to ground pound through these kind of cross shaped boards on the floor it also increases our jump damage and fights which is gonna come in pretty handy they call it spin jumping for some reason I mean you spin when you do it so yeah for for anyone who's played this game their favorite partner is most likely coming up I think a lot of people like this partner mm-hmm so the scenario here is basically there is a giant there's a giant beast named tubba blah blah who sort of a been a weakling who's always been picked on by the moose year he became friends with Bowser and kind of sucked up to him and Bowser being that he can kind of grant wishes now has given him the ability to be invincible as they call him essentially there is no way to defeat him but he has a secret that we need to figure out in order to defeat him yeah he's also so so not the nicest guy like he really doesn't have a heart I mean that can't be literal right not there's no way all right go ahead and cut off the stanley bid war are we saving stanley are we killing him so with a difference of $25 with the higher amount being an add a hundred and five we are saving Stanley yes all right you don't need to say you don't need to see Stanley uh get eaten by telephone yes so tell the Bloodless favorite snack is ghost I don't know how that works but yeah he just loves gobbling up ghosts because he's kind of invincible right now he kind of just has free rein to terrorize the residents of this area which are all boos something I like on the English version is it says bow joined your party like it or not I I think it I don't know she if they mean like because she's kind of in a bad situation or like because she just kind of forces herself herself into your party either which any either which way she's very welcome because she's one of the cooler party members in the game her whole gimmick is that rather than dealing a bunch of damage at once she hits enemies for several little taps also I love this theme this is probably one of my favorite songs definitely Spanish guitars alright so now coming up we're gonna save Stanley now this glitch is actually faster so in every run they usually a safe Stanley but I want to make I wanted the people to the side is his face it's fate I mean all right I'm gonna go ahead and save here because it is possible to softlock on this haven't softlocked in practice but you never know so when you use parakarry here just kind of live in fall out of bounds and we save Stanley we'll save time by skipping a fairly lengthy cutscene this is a repel gel for two turns we could take no damage although it does use one turn to use so mainly it's mainly good for defense rather what offense I'll be using a lot of those in the run it's a very similar move that a bow has which enjoys your partying to be able to make Mario invincible for a turn so there's a bunch of enemies these little like helicopter things in this dungeon that you're intended to use bows out of sight field ability in order to dodge them but you can just kind of spin past them a speedy spin normal pretty much all of them we're actually gonna use them at one point to get around a little bit faster we're going to use one to exit the the dungeon and then we enter just saves a little bit of time on movement so you have to go all the way over here to hit this key and then we can go on the right side chapters full of such banging music every song in this chapter is good snare we're upgrading parakarry parakarry is very useful upgraded gets a new ability and also gets an extra attack power yeah every time you upgrade a partner to get a new ability I got caught they get a new ability and then they do or damage on everyone with their attacks in the case of Bo she gets an extra hit rather than more damage because I would just kind of be broken each partner can only be upgraded once until about Chapter five and after which you can upgrade them twice although you need an item for that and that is behind a story sequence alright so I'm gonna have that padlock for a long time so I need to be careful I don't accidentally use it in battles oh yeah I'm not one HP by the way so any if I get first struck at all by any of these enemies I'm pretty much dead which is why I did save in a couple places and the reason we're at one HP is because they're gonna be getting a very useful badge arguably the most useful the entire rung oh yeah so you don't need bow for this if you're fast you just skip all that and the best part you don't need to go back and just take damage and then you go back here and I'm like thousand-year door taking overworld damage in this game will not kill you so I think Marta's very strong we've been working out and getting some haricot and also fly higher than it seems yeah so you can kind of ledge into corners of structures in this game and if you parakarry when you're wedged into a corner of something you'll kind of get pushed up and in this case you just kind of push up on to the ridge roar there instead of opening the other one and flying across so we just grabbed was the mega rush make a rush is +4 power if you are at 1 HP and again every point of damage in this game is considerable because the highest anything in this game has is a 99 HP yep there's actually two bosses that have 99 HP kind of one of the really cool things about the all bosses we're at is we get to do all those like auction all side bosses that really aren't found in almost any other category there's a lot of kids a lot of kids who played this game at a young age a lot of people who played this game at a young age can remember there was some really nasty side bosses like Ken like Kent C Koopa dude I wasn't even born when this game came out I still I still have bad memories of trying to get past that fight here's a little fun fact about Yoshi's Lilla this game came out two years before I was born so yes I'm yes I am that young love you too the young Z yeah that's kind of my I guess title and the speedrun community young Z Oh and so this is yaki yaks a lot he is actually the key to the secret and so he wakes tubba-wubba up but joins our inventory he's quite literally the key to the secret we have yet another banger oh yeah this is probably my second favorite song in the game alright so if I can get this so during this cutscene when Mario's escaping you can get either a hammer a jump or a spin so I'm just gonna kind of mash a bunch of inputs to see if I can get something so sorry that sounds loud to anyone I got nothing unfortunately so instead of exiting the castle the intended way we're actually gonna come back here and use parakarry to clip onto this plank of wood and just save a little bit of movement by yeah that just saves having to go around to the right side and go down the stairs normally it is quite scary though because there is the risk of gain to nikeyra --then but if you do the movement I just did you avoid him almost all the time but I still took a safety safe so these boos are terrified but they decided they want to help their maiden bow in her fight against tub of lava so they're gonna kind of keep tub at bay while we're running back down to the window which we saw earlier that it was locked yes Texican nice yes hex box that pops up there with you know everyone's screaming as the door is being blockaded if you don't move fast enough you'll get that extra text but donating here I have a question goes to come all available for lunch crazy oh my gosh depends what you mean donation goes to not bringing Luigi because that's faster I just want to mention real quick on the rotor there there hasn't been a single marathon run with the Luigi bid war that has left the guys left Luigi home so can we just get one marathon where he's left home we do anything in this game we broke the curse with blue house skip because I break the Luigi curse it's not even a Mario and Luigi game in this merry that was last year and the year before tonight knows - it was two years before that oh yes so tell it doesn't have a heart literally his heart is here [Music] I'm sorry but Rex sang no also amazing song here see thankfully it isn't the amount of chat messages that decide Luigi's fate it's the money so that's money talks all right so it is 50 HP but thanks to mega rush we can actually kill him before he gets off his first attack his attacks are pretty nasty they take two turns they take a turn to charge but they hit you from 12 damage they want you to use bow to kind of use her ability that makes you invulnerable for a turn to dodge that however we do so much damage that we actually hit the damage threshold to finish off that was hard so yes that is literally double of his heart and his secret is that once his heart was removed from his body his body became nigh invincible yeah but the thing is is coming up this fight is this guy is pretty hard that was only just like the first phase this is the second phase this is a really hard fight there's I might die so hard yes Oh ain't no no mine we're good easy fight high-level VP well so I guess pals is a surgeon that just uses patches to discover up the surgeon area I don't know yeah and it goes for fun that is a lot of ghosts and Stanley's been find this whole time in the first place exactly so bode decides that now that we finished finished our mission she wants to stay with our party for the rest of the game even if you say no she still joined you so sorry you're stuck with her it's that bad she's like the best part during the game all right controller switch so we're gonna see our first instance of loading zone storage here this is basically going to be used to trigger the or hit the card and trigger the trap for being completed but we're gonna skip the peaks cutscene we're gonna overwrite the loading zone with the technically the loading zone of hitting the card by card oh yeah that doesn't good try on a few small carts yeah in all cards we actually would have to use that stretch look at some storage is it is important that he does bring that up though our loading some storage is a trick that is found in all bosses yeah we'll be later yeah as we've mentioned with regards to your something called a neutral jump which is where you jump from not actually moving so that's gonna be how that works yeah sorry for that for the context there I in all cards you would have to do that yes because you have to touch the card we don't know if this is all bosses and this is a boss so we need to do it scare true play is floating in he has 40 HP since we got a heel after that last fight it's just not worth it to take to take nine damage anywhere else he wants to guard that first hit and then he's gonna not guard the next one and he's gonna finish him off with a power bounce yeah very very easy fight this is another boss that has an absurd amount of HP for when you get here casually he has 40 HP and does a lot of damage to some I'm pretty sure there's also a type 1 type on the English version it says like junior twice or something I forget I forget how many bounces you I'm pretty sure it's three fall just do another one yes the caveat with bows out of sight ability is that she uses both her current turn and the next turn worth of her attacks otherwise it would probably be the most broken ability in the game so forever force here is kind of like lost woods type dungeon if you're familiar with that from ocarina of time I probably reference it during my run a couple of days ago the way it works is if you take the wrong path you actually work back to the entrance so Yoshi's remember his memorized kind of this dungeon backwards so that he can go and get the one necessary plot relevant item here which is another one of those four seeds that we're gonna need to get to chapter six yeah also right there is a demonstration of spin canceling so I'm holding my control stick in a specific angle and I'm just basically mashing the spin button and I clip on a Ledge and I can instantly get another spin so you'll see that couple more times here assuming it was to say I wasn't where that's been canceling in this room it's very easy to use have to hold slightly basically just not set slightly right like not exactly right or left but like just slightly down from that you get it yeah if you ever look up how to do tricks in this game on your own on you know the YouTube tutorials that are available you'll hear a lot of tricks referred to as you know angles of they're like slightly down from down right or like there's a lot of weird in between angles that you need for tricks in this game alright hey or oh what's after Chapter three I don't remember in this route I'm not gonna make another wrong guess before for of course right well it's Chapter five you're progressing an odd number order I thought after three it was Windows 95 there's a five in there stone alright so um hope you guys like yo she's at least baby Yoshis you're not gonna see him again sorry so here we're here in the background mister Colorado getting hit repeatedly by spear guys so interestingly enough that trick that Yoshi just did is also slightly different on the English version and it's actually quite a bit harder on the English version as well you can still do it got it we just skipped to the volcano everyone ordinarily what you need to do is need to save the Yoshi kids one of the Yoshi elders tells you how to get to the deepest part of the jungle and then that's where you fired Rafael Rafael Raven from Yoshi's Island and he would set up a bunch of miniature here he would get a bunch of the many crows to set up sort of like a little zip line to get into the volcano but we've skipped all of that saving a lot of time I would guess 15 minutes something like that yeah so there's a pretty precise angle you want to hold during that cutscene as as soon as that cutscene with Colorado ends you want to spin and then start jumping across the platforms and there's a cycle and the platforms that you can make that saves about 15 seconds or so yeah 15 luckily got it so we go chapter 5 has a lot of cool stuff good being a fire shield there and so the four putrid piranhas fight in the jungle is not treated as a boss correct yeah okay it's a lot of really fancy little movement tricks in this dungeon as well including this one which is called a lot of puzzle skid aka a half-baked pie jump up below actually what it's called yeah there we go nice good job so right here a lot of people I think figured this out cash you only need to push this one block instead of both of them and you have just enough distance that you can fly over with bare carry there is actually a couch you can do called like old tram or early it stays like five seconds but it's hard so no thanks so that's all tram er it is the second upgrade to the hammer we have not actually gotten the first one and from the basic hammer it upgrades damage by four four fully charged it's not fully charged to upgrade two by two you know this character is Colorado he's uh Cooper's neighbor and his he's kind of like monkey Indiana Jones trying to explore everywhere except for Indiana Jones a smart guy Colorado all right so before we fight law praana I'm actually going to purposely get into peril which is going to involve doing a little glitch here with these fire bars we're not going to be jumping over them this time but we're going to basically if you just tap a direction in the c-stick then it will cancel the animation of Mario taking damage so Mario uses parakarry and then immediately gets burned now we're at 1hv today a khadeem convenient to because you'd have to wait there anyway for that platform to come over yeah so now I've got another small truck coming up called Colorado skip there's another little cutscene here and we're just gonna try to go over the trigger and right into the loading zone thing there's a little bit of the load zone that extends outside of this rock that we can just accuse Parker to clip into yeah those have to hammer like you have to move a block and then hammer a bunch of these ultra blocks and it takes quite a bit of time thankfully we also say that the Colorado's back from getting utterly crushed by this giant spiky rock alright and now here's a very very fun glitch called lava piranha out-of-bounds so I'm gonna clip out of bounds right here need to get the very edge of this seam should be good that can fall into this little log will maneuver down to this one there's a lobby we first struck him also because we first struck him we got rid of the lava product music three caps oh that sucks that's bad no that's fine I think you could deal with it but it's actually count as a boss music yeah I'm a really cool theme that plays I think I think we'll hear it in the second phase right bless orangey for a five cap if I get four cap that will be fine but that's very unfortunate marathon luck man I think that's like around 2% so yeah cool five cap you usually want to go for a 5 and a 3 cap but I guess I did the opposite worked out so by doing la fronte out-of-bounds you'll actually see that there's gonna be a ton of cutscenes skipped after this boss so first off that wasn't actually the end of the boss he's going to go into his second phase it's pretty cool cuz we really get to hear some of his boss theme was actually really good alright luckily you only need a four end of three cap so shouldn't be too hard Cara tries to help me he wasn't much help fire is hot apparently yeah who knew so Fiat this guy with those weakness of due to extra damage in the second part a lot easier and since we did a lot for an out of bounds remember how I said we're gonna skip touching the chapter five star spirit card well watch what happens okay I'm still out of bounds okay I can skip to the end so that just skipped all the cutscenes having to do with getting the card and stuff a lot of time so in other categories you can actually use that out-of-bounds to completely skip the fight but since this is all bosses we do need to defeat him also I just realized because I remember Kirby mentioning it I have Paper Mario shoes here I'm gonna put one up to the camera the other one has Yoshi so yeah custom design they're really cool and and this is actually my first time seeing the original Paper Mario big fan so far this goes towards naming the hero and crystallis Fox because she's one of my very best friends and it's her favorite game we have five dollars from a ska gay does all bosses include the triple ante fight guy yes I would say unfortunately but there are some pretty cool strats for that one actually but it also sucks we don't we don't get the jam and jelly so we really didn't want to buzz in before any of the other guys do but if you just mash a you just do that that's a parasol what this disguise is any minion in the castle why they give you that I don't know he even says that don't go off sneaking around with it it's like okay why did you give it to her then I mean that's really not what she can do they don't realize she can actually relay important information so remember to stay hydrated actually like that little touch of have the jungle sound effects in the background while this this you know Stark Spirit theme is playing get a monkey noises other monkeys that don't exist bless you so we would be seeing this cutscene a lot if this was all cards but this is all bosses I don't believe we're gonna be doing any peach birthing all right people people gonna like this so we're gonna get coconut coconut you'll see what we do with it later oh yeah so a side effect of doing raft skip all the baby Yoshis are really gone we killed them knots good game and on the couch speaking of your your lovely Yoshi plushies though we do have the cat Mario and cat Luigi that are available for possible I've been trying to keep me hidden I guess we have to another dimension for a possible prize if you donate $15 during this run the Yoshi plushies are not up for prizes sorry big surprise okay okay so there's a hidden block right here that has a if I can hit it there it is so there's a hidden block with this repel gel that we're gonna be using later like ghost said repel those are gonna be very useful we have a question in chat for you guys what is the question what mario speedrunner ever cared about yoshi's this one that's true see them as the inverse then they learn to hate mario for all is crying so this is the whale also there there's a few pie emotes relating to the seagull for any pie so taking this exit for chapter 5 is actually very important as opposed to just taking the pipe back out because we're gonna get another jr. troop of fight from this which is probably the best because that's the junior cuz he is a trooper he swims across the entire ocean seems easy yes so ordinarily you're supposed to go in this you're supposed to ride this way laughter helping him out with a little side mission in order to get to chapter 5 but you know obviously we skipped straight ahead to that we wouldn't even need to ever interact with this whale however the junior trooper fight and one other fight relating to the whale are necessary in all bosses so this fight is very similar to the last junior troop of fight we just had the only other difference is that he has a spike on his head so you can't jump on him thankfully he's extremely exhausted from having to swam across the entire ocean so his HP is cut in half from where it was before so now he's at 20 instead of 40 so remember that coconut we got [Music] well guess what wait really I did not know about this part of this route oh it's awesome no that was not for swag this is actually required and then para carry and in starstorm that does exactly 20 HP originally we used hammer throw but then I'm glory whose when with speed burns as this game was like yo Yoshi what if we get the coconut and it does enough damage to kill him so you might have noticed there on that menu as well that we had access to every star spirit that you should have had all the way up until the chapter 5 one and that's basically another byproduct of the way that the triggers in this game work and as far as it thinking you've completed everything up until where we are but we actually haven't so we have access to all the other star spirit abilities from prior chapters even though we've never saved those star spirits clearing here's the secret hideout of the shy guys this is chapter 4 so after chapter 5 is chapter 4 and yet again the game thinks we're in a post chapter 5 state so the train is already here otherwise we'd have to go do this little side quest of going to get it and there's all this back and forth between the toy box and toad town but we just completely skip all that this was the kind of nice thing about doing this is rather than having to manually unlock each of the four stations in this dungeon which is sort of the way you navigate it all of them are basically unlocked from the get-go we do need to go to green station and to read into pink gotta have to do a very roundabout kind of thing here in order to complete this chapter properly basically by doing this when we revert the chapter 2 back to chapter 4 well for whatever reason the switch does not get updated so if we update it now and then revert the chapter back to chapter 4 it just lets us go right back to the read station I should mention that on wii vc this chapter lacks so much it's ridiculous upcoming boss fight is really really hard on Wii Virtual Console I've lost runs to it on Wii Virtual Console ok which is where I used to play on but not anymore so you saw kami there kind of thing she does is in the beats cutscene in chapter 3 after chapter 3 Bowser asks peach what Mario hates and you can do you can like give yourself tough enemies or you can just give yourself items in this case it's automatically generated to be a fuzzy thankfully it doesn't just like crash the game otherwise the route would be very different oh yeah and you made notes I clipped into I've just clipped into the building that avoids having to like go all the way right to spawn the shy guy and have him open the door for you and we're actually gonna do it again to avoid this fly guy that can be very painful if you have to come back normally there's just a slim chance that the flying guy is just in a perfect spot that makes it unavoidable now we can go back to the red station we don't know baking any cakes the sir all right so now coming up is a boss is very straightforward but there's a very slight chance I can get double for capped which is only a 4% chance but it happens more often than not so yeah it's savor quickly there's also an early cycle you can get similar to the one in chapter 5 but it's a little more orangey this might oughta call definitely not gonna get it now it's actually gonna be much slower yeah if you're fast enough you can make the cycle not these sets of platforms but a platform's later on just one right here unfortunately I missed it I missed it a lot more than why you complete fell down so so this is normally the other fight where you would use game Barrio but due to me doing a different strats a little safer I'm gonna switch to bow this is the big Lantern ghosts his whole gimmick is that you cannot damage him unless you can see him so we need to attack the lantern first he does actually take damage from the whole shirt though which is pretty nice and again this boss does five damage so we need to guard one of the attacks and then let the other one do full damage that we're at one HP again normally you'd use can borrow their but let's see what I get alright so we're good so like I said there's a chance to get double for capped on this fight so if I had gotten for capped there I would have done a little backup to ensure that I don't die because after these sets of bounces if he doesn't die he attacks and kills Mario she's also intentionally only hitting that Lantern twice but both I got work out there you charge up with Bo entirely it'll do four slaps and there's just a time waste you only need to charge it up or slept the lantern twice to make the ghost hittable so the partner we get now is watt she's the partner we alluded to earlier who allows you to see invisible blocks she also has another very important property which her basic attack completely bypasses defense and that's gonna come into quite a bit of play she doesn't have quite as strong specials as say parakarry or sushi but she makes up for that and being able to do really good damage to enemies with high defense we're just gonna come into play with the next boss or rather sort of lament to come into play with the next boss at least yeah it's not a whole lot she does throughout the run but for casual playthrough specifically yeah we do use her at the final boss though because final boss has a lot of defense all right I'm going and take a little bit of save real quickly saving in a marathon run what is this all right so everyone get ready for probably the best thing about this chapter is the screams screams and one trips alright so we can't see anything so uh gonna use white here this is sort of the roadblock keeping you from advancing yeah so liqueur oh I was saying earlier this fight really sucks on we've only VC it doesn't lag as much on the n64 and there's a little bit of like very slight like that you may see on this fight but it's it's manageable also another vendor this is general guy you got to fight his mob of shy guys before hitting the main body sheds - I your PI who died on this fight because he danced during this at sgdq 2013 I mean I guess it was someone like donating saying they'll donate on Earth Day if everyone dances but he died so Rep [Music] so the first phase is just going to be spawning a bunch of his minions to take care of Mario but since we're in peril we can just easily take care of them I have 99 dollars from ulta biscuit hey all set $99 for the 99 HP bosses good luck to Yoshi do the thing thanks salsa I like how that last one was waiting in the tank the entire time I know so you shot guy stacks have a bit too much HP ideas power QuakeCon so we're just gonna defeat one immediately and then use one of wot supers to paralyze the other one probably more than most people will ever use wot supers they have a few little perks but there are more supporting skills I mainly use her for a remain attack alright now we can actually be a general guy now this boss has a little bit of RNG with what attack he can throw he even throws lightning or bombs bomb is the fastest animation so let's hope we can get double bombs let's see what we get lightning so as you can see it's much slower they also further incentivize you to use wat on this fight because what's completely immune to that lightning bolt that would otherwise hit your partner and unlike ttyd since your partner doesn't have a health meter in any way shape or form whenever they take damage they're basically unusable for that amount of turns which is really really bad double lightning hit the guard that's okay so general guy here has 30 HP and three defense but with how much power we have from mega Ryan Watts you know piercing ability it's pretty quick fight oh they'll be more screaming destiny was one day alright so you guys know that very boring cutscene we have to make a cake yeah we're not doing this best part of the casual nope alright so I'm you know this is all bosses not all cards so we're gonna go ahead and just kind of peace out but there is one more boss in chapter 4 which a lot of you guys might be familiar with as one mr. spike vegeta over here can attest to this is this boss sucks spike have you had bad experiences with this fight here's a clip on his channel alright oh wait this way well actually it's faster someone sent me my clip later I want to see it look at his face the best clip I've seen from spike is after he beats thousand-year door casually I [Music] gotta take a little safety save fights not that hard [Music] sorry spike he guards this chest that's guarding a Power Plus badge he's an optional boss that's meant to like be really difficult and they wants you to go and use the cookbook which once you get the cookbook what that does is lets you bake two items into one in the game's cooking side quest and you're supposed to bake like a cake mix and lemon to make lemon candy which this guy really really likes and will let you get the chest for him or you can fight him he does ridiculous amounts of damage like 10 to 12 a hit does anyone want to start explaining the next glitch coming up now which one is it early well early well okay I can I can explain this one so early wail so we you saw we wrote a wail back to town after Chapter five you can actually access that wail pretty much anytime in the game because the loading zone is there it's just not accessible inbounds so we're gonna use what it's called a loading zone storage which is I'm gonna let yes you focus alright so that's the first half so I'm out of bounds so series of frame perfect neutral jumps that being he has one thirtieth of a second to press a as soon as he hits the ground now loading zones have that one little frame that you can kind of extend with jumps and if you extend it long enough I when you enter the neck when you enter the next screen you'll actually kind of fall out of bounds cuz you'll get it from a different angle and now he's trying to get around the seam of this screen here I had it I'll let him focus I had it but I clip out of back in bounds cuz I had a bad angle the seed Mumma is the worst there we go that is one of the hardest trips in our all bosses so again the loading zone is right there and inside of the whale actually is this little yes nice so you can actually encounter him early right there if you just jump there's this little bug here by the name of fuzzy feed he has 20 HP so he's not that difficult but he does count as a boss his main thing is that if you don't have what you can't actually attack him because the room is dark and he hit he hangs on the ceiling making it very difficult to hit because you can't jump or hammer him wotz attacks work parity carries attacks would work if they get hit and then items and starstorm all hit him so we've been leveling up BP a lot by next level up if I'm where correctly is FV I dunno I didn't I do have the round memorize mostly but do you need me to check go for it yeah I should be in chapter 6 so now we're equipping Power Plus which allows us to do one extra damage alright so obviously guys I know how to count after chapter four is chapter two so next level you should have 10 10 HP 15 BP 12 or sorry 15 F P 12 V P so we get our second blooper fight here that there's three different blooper bosses and based on which order you trigger them as the order you fight them and so you'll always fight the small blooper then the bigger one and then the electro one I believe this when I was fifty HP I always thought bloopers were supposed to get cut alright so gonna jump on him on purpose so now basically this next attack Mario get put into peril I didn't say that I order two I forgot electro comes first cool all right controller switch again what where is it there it is yes next level up is an F speed my bed I was looking at I was looking at the previous level you're good all right that's one for the blooper reel we just fought blooper I mean alright so now we're at chapter 2 this is this is dry dry desert it's kind of this gigantic like 40 screen maze might be like 30 these bandits here that will run into you and steal your money and run away there's also pokies which are really annoying I think it's like a 6x6 grid yeah it's pretty big and thankfully again we're in a state that thinks the game the game thinks were wood we've completed chapter 2 at this point so there's usually a little side quest where you have to go buy some items in a certain order to get this gem that lets you detect we're dry dry ruins is but it's just here so I could see it's one of my favorite in the game so since we completed chapters and different orders a lot of stuff is already finished for us so by doing that we can actually grab two keys right here which is not normally supposed to be possible I think your specter to drop some sand down from the room yeah we can also get this chump early since you already have the hammer yeah all right so I don't want a hard job because I'm in peril so if I get a heart drop it's gonna mess up peril thankfully there is a little backup my wires are all tangled thanks to dropping the controller so there's three stones in this dungeon one shaped like a triangle one shaped like a moon and one shaped like a little star thing there usually required to access the boss the boss is actually open right now but the boss isn't there because the game thinks we've defeated him already so we're gonna have to pick up the super hammer to trigger ourselves back into chapter 2 and then that's gonna seal the boss again so we do need to pick up these three keys so by doing that we can actually skip fighting all those pokies but the game is still even though the text is still there the game is still in a post there right now it's a post chapter for state because uh the early whale going to that loading zone is actually a trigger so it's basically pre Chapter five state right now but will revert it back to over it back to chapter two soon enough no hard jobs the last one is the most important if I get one from the last one we don't have to come up with some sort of backup which shouldn't be too hard so - you know what this puzzle we have to do well we have the old tram so we can just grab the super hammer now so we actually downgrade but actually now the game is in the chapter two state thankfully hammer is not especially important in the run like any time we would use quake cameras just you know it does enough when we're in barrel so you don't really ever need to upgrade back to ultra hammer quake hammers actually add asset damage so your clay camera doesn't get more powerful if you upgrade your hammer would there be a way to upgrade back to ultra hammer if you wanted to nope okay this is just when you actually pick up the chest all right last chomp fight so it is actually faster to just tap left rather than to like just let it sit there on the hammer little action commute you sure took a bite out of them all right no Gaul the stones and don't know the temples collapsing all right so now coming up is Tooting good but Tooting kuba is a very easy boss best-case scenario I get a five cap I think it's a very fast fight let's see if I can get it or get the legendary three cap which is a two percent chance no nope luckily I won't die if I get 3 cap one cap you know it no cap no cab just just used a regular jump is there even a percentage chance that a to cap as possible or three kept the lowest three three cap is the lowest because if you use normal jump you get two jumps so yeah I want to say the like scale of how how it goes up this like kind of logarithmic nice no three cap and you didn't even get five caps I want to like if my understanding of the oranges directs nice didn't even summon any chocolate is very nice I want to say like it is theoretically possible to get infinite hints but it's like such a ridiculously low chance that it's not ever worth counting forward all right um so she would get this card yes I mean we can I mean we'd the glitch exhibition wasn't met you can't demonstrate it Matt just gotta make me look bad for bringing it up earlier fault sorry hey you had a good run we got it we got a kid you gotta take you down to size that's true I wasn't actually trying to bring you down I was just asking it in general should I go no I understand it's okay so despite the fact that we would basically warp out of this dungeon it is faster to move out of this dungeon than it is to go through the peach cutscene which is a fairly lengthy one where you'd have to kind of you have to kind of stealth your way through in order to in order to get the you over here these two minions talking about tub blah blah blah where you find out about is like him being invincible and him having a big secret well of course we found that already so we don't know how to count all right so normally it's actually faster to go through the blue pipe again but uh there's a there's a little someone that we skipped earlier that we need to fight because this is a boss so normally once we get parakarry we kind of travel through mount rugged here in order to head into the dry dry desert at the very end is this sort of roadblock it's his character named buzzard and Buzzard is kind of keeping an eye out and we'll ask you hey you look like this Mario fella that Bowser told me I can't let through and he gives you three options one of which is Mario if you say you are Mario he'll fire actually I think it's a she she'll fight you if you say peach which is one of the options you'll say do you think I'm stupid and then you can also say Luigi and she's like wait Luigi that doesn't make sense well I'll let you through because I trust you hey do you know who also doesn't know Luigi the people that don't see him at the party believe game into thinking you're neutral stick position is not neutral and you use that to get out of bounds and skip power carry there it's really pretty neat how it works actually also sucks to do which is why we do all bosses and we don't need to do it so what comes after two thanks because look at it this way we've currently skip actually skipped like oh yeah here so here's the map we've skipped four star spirit cards and now we're in chapter 2 so 2 plus 4 is 6 basic math and so the trigger to enter chapter 6 is placing all four seeds fun little facts on the North American version specifically if you give her the seed from chapter 5 before the seeds from chapter from the one on the island if you give that one to her before you give you finish off the other three you will just softlock because the gate will not open yeah there's just just only that one I believe just only on the North American version and only that the yellow seed basically interesting yes is a just placing the seed so you was really no skips for this in any category there's still no like very little skips in I mean you just get the second half of this entirely and in any percent but that's about it all right we have a bunch of moles here so we have to live to defeat all them luckily were in peril we're about to level up though unfortunately but we'll just get right back in the peril so yeah mostly for this chapter you have to do it in order so there's not really any big glitches all right so this level up is a FV so there's four fights here each one of them has a different number of Monty bowls there's one with one two three and four each we're gonna do them in a very specific order as far as this level up and getting back into peril is routed there so an upgrading bomb that she has the ability to power bomb which hits everyone for the same damage the bomb does Wow all right we're in peril true they're actually rocks though or are they just coconuts shaped like rocks or they're rock shaped ooh coconuts hmm not that complicated you guys are trying to cosmic brain this yeah these guys are noxious they're like 12 A to B and they're kind of just routing this like up hitting this flowers roots so she really does not like them basically this is flower fields you have to go through a whole bunch of these little side sections cuz the entire area is in turmoil the flowers are you know being attacked they can't they don't get any sunlight because the Sun is being blocked by these really dark clouds yeah so there's a cloud generator we need to shut off we need to get the Sun back into the sky you need to plant a giant Beanstalk and we need to get some colored barriers in order to pass some gates on the way yeah a lot of small little things you have to do in this chapter yeah alright so now coming up is the room of death as spirits like to or the hallway of death so there are there's a B in this room that is really if you do the movement wrong you will you will die how many bees I mean this year okay our gain to yell berries though one to eat cuz actually sets us up to where the next fight we can get into peril depending on what the lakitu does so it's very useful all right come on okay we're good we have to go through that room two more times so let's hope I don't get up is AB is it the name of those bees yes yes does that exclamation point specifically yeah they have three HP but they deal six damage a pop it's so similar how Bowser in Chapter one is called Bowser with like four question marks I think it's like three Z's to please no it's a Japanese it wasn't look the same I don't even know what they're called in Japanese so on that screen you can actually see this game sort of equivalent of a metal slime which is the amazing Daisy normally the crazy Daisy's the little guys only have about eight HP but there is a golden one that I did not know you just neat little enemy does a lot of damage but you can kill them for a ridiculous amount of exp to answer someone's question yes that is there so right there that flower her name is Lily she is in danger of wilting away there's the amazing Daisy let's bless this run a little golden one and yeah so she needs to find the water stone in order to get enough water to to evolve her Edie Saturday thought Evie can't evolve this flower is really sad he thinks there's no good tasting blue foods and you give him a blueberry and he says he loves it just like there are good blue things after all all right this next level is BP um it's a lot of character and inject it into the NPC's in this game it's really charming so coming up so speights very easy so the fastest thing that you can get with this fight is if the lakitu here attacks Mario because that does exactly three damage to put you in a peril if you spawn the spiny they have to do star storm again and it will unfortunately lose some time so let's see what is it gonna do have to do a little bit of a slower slower fight to kill the spiny as well so you may notice earlier we actually got runaway pay we actually only need to run away pay for this fight depending on what happens in this fight because if you get the spiny spawn you get extra BP or I'm sorry star points but if you don't then you lose out on it so if you don't get a spiny spawn you want to use runaway pay later to make up the star points but if you do then run away pay is useless so sorry you won't be seeing right away pay anymore so this girl has the water stone and she thinks it enhances her beauty which is kind of selfish given that all the flowers here are kind of dying but she says you know what I will give it to you if you can give me an object of equal or greater beauty all right let's go find something so know if many people knew about this either but there's a hidden block up here yeah so that's a shooting star it's an item that does six damage to all enemies I heard that Kirby by the way all right only one more time through that hallway of death so this girl gives us a bunch of soil but she also gives us a crystal berry I believe and that is basically gonna be our little substitute for the water stone and forgot the name of the flower I think her name was like Rosie she says wow this is so much better than that then that crummy ol water stone yeah her name is Rosie I don't know all the names of Japanese but yeah they it's a localization thing come on go you can translate for us I mean you leave the text on for like three frames I can't I thought you were a site owner I don't even think Kay can read that fast now I gotta catch a couple of words here and there but now [Music] all right now I got the Laura stone and now we can just make our way back to Lilly that's a name to give her the water stone so just a lot of seeing it but if you come back after you destroy the cloud mr. cloud machine you get a little happy Sun tune so ghost would you like to tell everyone what Lakha Lester's name and Japanese is or do you know no I remember I can barely see the next I forgot it's like Johnny or something yeah it's Jonathan and he's embarrassed of his name yes so he doesn't like his name so he calls himself spike in the because I I would like that all right it's a very simple fight we just need to use that Thunder rage and star storm this will kill all of them [Music] it's interesting to me that this chapter is more or less I mean if you look at compared to like glitchless that's more or less the same do you know if there's any like where people have searched for glitches or where like the Holy Grail is for this chapter or anything like that I have no idea there's two glitches that pertain to this chapter first of all a lot of people don't realize this but you want to hit this machine on both sides I you as a kid we just hammer it like repeatedly over and over on one side that would do anything so there's one glitch that involves using loading zone storage to bypass the bubble bearing but you also like in this category you can't really do it because another part of this category involves basically once you get lackluster you kind of just skip to kind of just use a wrong warp tripe glitch in order to just skip this chapter entirely but we can't do that because there's bosses that need to be fought and cards that need to be collected but so it really only comes into play in any percent the Holy Grail would probably believe me oh wow sound effect caught me off guard the Holy Grail would probably be would there be any way to use to activate the Beanstalk early you can somehow get the key items that the great like key items early somehow so now we have planted the magical Beanstalk and it will sprout for approximately 2030 seconds a long time so yeah donations if you have any mozzie oh she that's super jump charge there are charge badges in this game where they take a turn and the next time you do an attack you will do increased damage this is important because every power bounce will improve on damage every time you use a super jump charge this is Hufflepuff also absolute banger of a boss theme he has 60 HP and it's a very obnoxious fight because well he has no defense he summons these little mini tough cuffs that you have to mash in order to like stop them from doing damage to you and they do a lot of damage over the course of several turns and huff also has several really nasty attacks throughout there's also a huge variance on power balance caps we can get on this fight and some of them are pretty bad don't even remind me so that attack animation is pretty long so we're skipping that without a sight both the name of those hidden ability or hiding ability and I don't know if any of the Power Balance caps will actually allow you to not finish I think they just it slid a three cap that will allow me to not force the foe is it okay alright we're good we're good I didn't even get five caps that's actually like a 10% chance to get a six kappa so yeah I was really good yeah we do not want that fight he has attacks that would one-hit kill us at this point pretty much and I don't have a life for him alright so unfortunately or maybe fortunately we aren't we do have to get this star spirit card and we do have to go through the longest peach cutscene it is also the best one if you want to talk like just casual experience though but baking cakes know as a kid I kept on failing that cake because I didn't have a time you do realize they give you 23 the 36 seconds yes I do I would like count one two three like completely off and I'd be like 22 seconds or something I was at a big analog clock in my room that I would use for it it's really handy actually so what is the reason for needing to do this one because the the chapter sequence doesn't actually get updated until you but you can't access chapter 7 unless you go through this peach cutscene yeah if you tried to wrong and use the wrong work to also initiate this cutscene he would have to go a considerable distance in order to do that so it's just faster to activate this you'd be losing time you'd be losing a metric ton of oh yeah so we're not gonna go to that dark who-who down here we're gonna go right here you can just kind of barely barely transform from there which say it's like a second so during this cutscene I'm holding be because I do not want to accidentally transform back into Beach and get hot and then have to do all this again this is already a long cutscene enough so I don't need to hone I don't need to transform back into peach and then I've done that before just mindlessly just pressing a month or something while you're just walking around yes so now we need to head back to the front to the castle and we're gonna meet the guard who was supposed to relieve the guard we just talked to he's slacking off so we're gonna end up transforming into a club uh shut off the slop stop by the way dang it you beat me - it's the slot Dot slot tops icon is a club uh and I some kinds of funk I mean they bottle people don't shower that they don't wash their hands because they're evil alright okay so now we're gonna finally go on to chapter 7 here yep so remember how well I guess we don't remember because we never talked to Merlyn but uh actually who's Merlyn not met this man once this entire run but it looks like he's got some important information that we can't read really it is a really useful MPC in a casual playthrough if at any point you get stuck you can pay him a few coins but he'll tell you basically what to do next also if you ground pound three times here you'll get the quick change badge which is something you're supposed to go on a fairly long side quest to figure out somebody tells you like hey if you run around this Merlyn tells you hey run around this tree a bunch of times and then you do and then these two towns folk in the desert are like what are you doing and then they say well so I heard if you fat ground pound in Merlin's house he drops the quick change badge but if you don't know if you do know where it is you don't actually have to go through that that quest at all and the quick change badge allows you to swap partners without burning a turn yeah it allows first that's a big blooper it allows for some great strategies that get you through some bosses so the thing with the bloopers in this game is they're free there are three points in which you will see the bloopers after you defeat one the other two points will up like well you will fight a stronger blooper so this one is kind of the blooper they want you to fight first but since we fighting in last is the super blooper super Buller has 70 HP and is prone to charging up his attacks a good quickly I get ready damage slap so those slaps aren't actually required but it's possible to get four capped it's not that I have a chance but it doesn't cost much time to uh doesn't cost much time to do this slap so it's just kind of safety factor that looks scary we're gonna want to avoid that so we've charged so much that after a blooper attacks here we're just going to was going to do a bunch of damage and kill them yeah thankfully super jump charge does not wear off when you when you use other things some games like using some using your charge ability you have to use an attack next but not this one thankfully [Music] that's fifty eight damage in one attack by the way another loved one it's not going to be leveling up with BP and we're gonna immediately throw in that quick change badge alright who wants to explain Clippy boots coming out ok so this is a trick that's gonna allow us since we downgraded our hammer to reach rigor chapter two we don't have the ultra hammer to get to ultra boots so what we're gonna have to do is open our partner menu frame perfectly as we're getting into an encounter and it's actually a weird frame because it's not the exact frame you touch the enemy it's like there's like a small frame window afterwards so we're gonna be opening our partner menu and switching to sushi as we're starting a fight and then we're gonna immediately run away from that fight which is gonna put us in this weird we call it Clippy state or you kind of just have this weird physics with objects and we're gonna use it to pop on top of the ultra block jump on top of the door frame and then sort of slip out of bounds into the loading zone and completely bypass the ultra block this is definitely up there as far as the hardest tricks in the game and there's some very precise angles like I said it's a frame perfect input to get this menu open and a lot of it is just this actually is a lot easier than it sounds it is a 30 FPS game so it is one thirtieth of a second instead of one sixtieth of a second like in some other games and it does kind of come down to muscle memory after a certain point but it is still extremely hard and extremely precise yeah I've already failed thankfully the run chance starts a little up pretty high on this one so retries re free and going like slightly too late I also find this trick to be a little bit harder on a GameCube controller which is what Yoshi's using pretty sure right now alright that's the first part hopefully I get this next part first try we're also have to do the clipping mode again switch back to the lackluster there we go nice took a while get in the cliffy State but get the trick first try is really good he messes that up he's good takes quite a while to try again yeah when you're learning that trick I nice honestly say nice honestly the hardest part is probably finding your way into the loading zone once you're on top of the door frame the frame perfect' part is honestly probably of the easiest parts to learn which is kind of funny so we were plotting for is that spin jump that he did to hit that block that was ahead of the spring on it is actually a pretty tight jump saves a couple of frames pretty much we can actually get it without the spin jump which is also very precise it's a very scary room we need to be at 9 HP for the next boss coming up and if I take damage there oh man wait so much time so is there there is a method that goes kuhmo mentioned earlier where we can sort of wrong warp into chapter 7 and it puts us in a state where chapter 7 is completed but like in all cards we would trigger that and then re-enter the dungeon and then go 2 feet the boss and collect the card however for this category there's two bosses that we need to defeat in Chapter 7 near the start that we would otherwise skip so we do need to come in here the normal way oh yeah so we forgot to mention lacklustre is very broken in terms of glitches let's just uh well let me show you so yeah sort of with how parakarry worked where we kind of nudged ourselves into corners of objects and then used him to kind of clip into things and increase our height and things like that laka Lester just kind of pushes you into buildings when you do that and açaí fact is this glitch is it's completely dark except for the characters and it's actually a really easy thing to do at home too so if you boot up your game and just kind of like move along a corner until you see Mario start to partially push into it and then just hit si down for laka luster you just pop right in easy engage stairs so this whole scenario is go to the mayor's house to kind of figure out what's going on the mayor's basically knocked to the ground and his wife's pant starts panicking because she thinks Mike was dead and because Mario is like the unfamiliar person here like she invites us into her into her house and then the mayor's dead so she thinks we did it so we need to figure out a way to prove who killed the mayor this whole little penguin murder mystery is like kind of a little darker than like this whole situation should be but as we'll find out here the only other person who could have done it theoretically is his friend this other penguin here named herring way but it just turns out that the mayor slipped and hit his head and passed out nobody actually checked his pulse so his wife thinks that he's a ghost he's like no I just I just hit my head on the floor he was trying to get a present for his friend from when he visited the Mushroom Kingdom therefore Towton and so that whole situation resolves itself pretty pretty cleanly all right get ready for some comedy gold coming up so next glitch is gonna be involving sushi which you're gonna love this this going this next clip is going to allow us to skip a ton and I do mean a ton of chapter 7 so I'll going to I'll go ahead and let one of the commentators explain the switch after I do it because it's it's pretty esterified I just have to see it yeah he's gonna have to see it so sushi has a a very hidden talent she can swim on land so there's a very precise spot where you can get on sushi and instead of properly putting you into water it kind of just clips you back into the platform and you can just kind of do this see if she swims on land I mean we saw Mario walk on water earlier so makes sense a nice thing about this is this ahh-choo persist through fight so we're gonna come out of this fight and still have the state active as long as we have sushi out yeah switch partners and bowels that deactivates the glitch so dude you're trooper here has 50 HP and 2 defense I want to say but he also delves eight damage per hit so he tells quite a bit quite a chunk in a switch the bow here doesn't actually deactivate the glitchy yet it defeat it deactivates if we leave the battle with though so before this battle ends I'm going to switch back to sushi and do not super jump charge please the quick quick change about it is really really important here because otherwise if we didn't have it on changing a partner would completely eat our turn well eat our partners turn I should say we only have one more to jr trip with a go alright so yeah see she's swimming on land again and I actually can't switch partners a long in the state so the normal sort of puzzle you're supposed to do here is you're supposed to get a scarf and a bucket to complete those snowmen on that back wall there we're coming here which is something you would do normally to fight a boss and then we're just gonna kind of use sushi to get around that trigger so this is monster it's just very fierce and ferocious boss he does but one damaged by ironically that would suck for us yeah he's good negative switch to bow oh yeah so you may have noticed that I swam out of bounds and then in fought this boss out of bounds well because this totally makes sense by fighting a boss out of bounds you just spawn over here so one of the neat little things with that probably my favorite part of this little scenario is to the east of there is starborn valley which is where all the star kids live and it's kind of where they kind of grow up to become stars in the sky but unfortunate because of Bowser they can't do that star war in valley just has like just really peaceful music one of my favorite songs in the game and I said I've said that about a lot of songs but like I do really mean it so we actually need to be able to jump again in order to get past the screen so we actually need to get into an encounter to get us off of sushi so we can jump again and as soon as we go to the next screen we're just gonna go right back to swimming on sushi just because of how this sort of weird state we're in works [Music] we can swim them out of bounds to avoid this puzzle but now we're actually gonna deactivate the glitch and I forgot to switch controllers uh because for the next which coming up I use a classic enjoy so we have two oh there we go yeah well I run away laughs - like quickly switch controllers actually I'm just gonna get out of the way because I don't want to encounter this club of that many times so I'll just take a bit of time loss to switch enjoys anyone want to explain this next glitch coming up so this is I staircase skip we're gonna again use kind of the broken properties of locket luster to kind of smush herself in in this corner and then fall out of bounds and then this is gonna put us on the seam so we're gonna walk down to this this kind of horizontal seam that's at the forefront of the screen right now and then we're gonna walk very precisely across that seem nice and then fall out of bounds again and this is gonna push us all the way back up to the top of the screen and right in Crystal Palace it's a pretty decently tricky little skip there so getting a first try is very good oh yeah it actually is possible to softlock doing it - if you mess up so yeah so what it does is it skips this whole scene where you have to go into like this invisible wall and grab this little key and then put it in the hole and you have to sit this very long animation of the staircase kind of leading you into the entrance of Crystal Palace which is where we are now and yeah coming up but you know I'm just gonna say like Lister's broken yes so the gimmick to this dungeon is that mirrors you go kind of in between the foreground and the background parts of mirrors quite a lot in this dungeon actually so it may not look like anything happened I just clipped to the other side of the mirror nice that's I believe a three frame window to get that yeah it's pretty not too hard it's pretty easy so you basically just push lock a lustre into the pillar and then you kind of walk around the pillar while still like much nothing against the wall and as soon as you see lock a lesser sort of flyaway you need to hit C down and it just pushes you to those side of the mirror I also need to eat this Champa jelly oh yeah a nice side effect of this glitch is we never fight the duplicates cuz that's where it skips so we're gonna have our clones on screen from it for the rest of this chapter except for on this screen where it's intended to be disabled it's kind of curious that they actually have the wall that they actually let you bomb the wall for the right side on that screen - mmhmm yeah cuz you're not supposed to be able to do that alright it's coming up it's gonna be a cool little glitch it's not it doesn't actually save time but I think a lot of people actually like this so which one's the real bomb bet I have no idea the one that doesn't have anything after it's text yeah pretty much the other ones are trying too hard so what I can do is I can actually clip into this long zone and then I'm going to do something pretty great so I'm gonna I'm gonna switch to Cooper then come back through here and I'm gonna complete the puzzle so mario has his way you know vomit gives him a kiss after after this fight or after you do this puzzle but bomba it's not gonna be the one to give Mario the kiss this time mario has a secret lover and it's Cooper it actually crashes was with some partners doesn't crash the Cooper though I was gonna have a donation incentive for what their favorite like crew Marius secret love was but then I figured out crash was a law partners whatever reason so I was like yeah it might be a bad idea she's nice little way to gamble save her kill this entire room well I only had the partners that actually didn't crash selected at least I thought didn't crash all right now a bunch of forest fights here thankfully they're very easy by magic koopa thankfully they run away all other enemies are killed so everybody's next right guys yeah each one of the different magikoopas is colored based on kind of the support action they have and they're generally just there to support the other enemies as soon as the other enemies are gone they so are they 10 25 18 is what it says here Oh helps fail that all right cool thanks guys all right then last fight luckily peril bombette very overpowered [Music] the love of FP [Applause] can we just mention how great the music is in ice levels honestly this entire chapter is full of really good music this whole game well game but seven especially I think as as a whole just has so many great songs I feel like regardless of game the music is the only good part about ice levels ice physics nice pun by the way so you actually just got the triple dip badge which is gonna come into play on some later fight so what it allows us to do it's a badge and when we have it on and we get another ability under our items menu and it allows us to use three items on a single turn which is extremely extremely useful all right so guys I'm gonna be honest I do not know who the real Cooper is I don't I heard he went through that door yeah it could be it could be Colorado could be the keys in the shell in the background I think it's Luigi alright but we're gonna skip this so similar to how I skip the bond back cutscene this one actually does save time and you just skip the Cooper puzzle fun fact about that switch to is you can actually hit that switch with Cooper leave the room and then come back in it will have done nothing you got you have to sit there and wait for the bridge to come out in Jam jelly here and a hidden floor panel for star pieces oh we should get our piece hey I submitted that RPG Limerick declined it I think as all bosses is better maybe sometime in the future Kirby that's P up D down it's a badge that upgrades defense or upgrades offense by one point and downgrades defense oh I want to point and of course we're gonna be in peril for most of the game so that defense really doesn't matter oh yes yeah our arty blue ghosts are still there but then they're gone another back so now about to the final part of this chapter where we get the key and then fight the boss which probably has the best like boss music in this chapter because I mean it's ice all right so now coming up here is a little puzzle which the way I'm doing is actually the fastest way to complete it some people don't actually know that there's like this is the fastest way to complete it but the way I'm doing it is how you can quickly get through the puzzle yeah so the gimmick is that we move the statues and the in the background and the Rhinos in the foreground will also move to match and there is a pretty pretty funny glitch I'm going to show off as well in this room can we get a reminder of about how far we have away before the Luigi cutoff comes give me just a minute to shows off all right we're gonna push this here also there's a little swagged up we can get here are you ready we and then swagged up again yeah it's just kind of a funny thing that can happen he's pushing Mario just levitate is like by this is crystal king it's got 70 HP to defense and a bunch of nasty attacks and patterns for that time cut off for Luigi will be after the final boss but before the end of the run yeah there's a pretty lengthy cutscene there so let's say when Mario gets the star Rod will be yeah probably did you see Mario hold up his hands to grab the star rod that should mean the cut off alrighty yeah probably about 45 minutes or so all right that's good I have to block all three of those attacks if I don't want to die now we're at 1 HP and we still don't want to die so I'm gonna switch the bow this is also a banger all right so it's possible get three capped on this boss it's the only it's the only cap that you can't win with cuz they'll heal it's a two percent chance but it happens it happened in one of the practice runs I had so let's see all right we're good 5 Kevin's the best again I didn't even get capped up 5 nice bike shouts - giggity B who got double like double 3 caps when he was doing a no reset run as a gdq submission so if you wanna it's a two percent chance to get three captive ones so yeah those are the odds in case you're wondering that is actually a mustache on this on this star spirit yes I think it was just an open mouth a lot of people think mustache is our mouth apparently so does that mean Colorado just was like an open mouth on his nose how IM duplication which is actually japanese exclusive so i'm basically gonna do is i'm gonna be writing lackluster i'm going to eat an item as i grab an item and dupe this repel jealous oh oh man that's perfect I'm just gonna assume I can get it yes and there we go we have to repel gels even with the tree blocking I was afraid of that happening to me one at one point of course happens in the marathon but I guess I guess I still got it no chair trip was God kind of funny actually if you return to that screen you see Jeff trooper just frozen in a block of ice but now he's gone fight him one more time yeah now it's time for the last upgrade which is sushi so sushis upgradability is waterblock which is often gonna come in very handy on the final boss you'll see that a little bit how much does increase defense by one ones one I mean if you have four multiple turns that ends the back so do incredible saving quite a bit all right so now the one thing that I really like about all bosses is that we get to fight the dojo so who's ready to become the dojo master yeah this is also some really good music oh yeah we haven't unlocked the blue house yet now we do for the longest time how you're supposed to do that as a kid save that your fights pretty pretty straightforward but so good to have safety saves yeah there's a couple of optional kind of suits superbosses around town there's the fifth-ranked dojo you have to fight through five fights first the two guys here who are named Chan and Lee in the English version obvious reference there and then the master you have to fight three times and then to the east of here is also a character to the name of Kenton Koopa who serves as a roadblock thankfully this guy only has 15 HP so it's a pretty quick fight even even without mega rush activated yet and now because we have Cooper out the stupid list is going to turn into Cooper which is very useful so as the name suggests do Buddhists can turn into your partners Cooper has the properties of a Cooper which means if you jump on him he loses his defense and it takes a turn to have to get back up so pretty much docile all right now it's time for the dojo fight you heard the master we have to fight three forms of him luckily not a whole lot of rng except for power balance caps because power bounce caps are the best [Music] and so in this first phase he has 50 HP with each upgrading we need to progressive phase he gets more nasty combinations of attacks so this is like this is the first time we're using alt star this entire run yep so that gets us exactly 5 HP as well as 5 FP and as you saw he does 7 damage with this Cain attack so that's gonna put us in peril pretty nicely Knight 7 cap nice so that quick kills them alright now we got the second form which used to normally be very orangey heavy basically what you would normally do or what you used to do is you would use smooch and then you need to hope he gives you his regular attack and not the strong attack if he gives you the strong attack the backup is literally to heal at the toad house which is very very very slow yeah thankfully if you if you die in these fights you don't game over but you don't want to you don't want the resources that you use to go to waste oh yeah yeah this fights very free it's also rather convenient that you don't get star points from these fights so you can just maintain peril between them track cap is fine [Music] jess is a strong attack which can be very bad very good and I'm gonna eat that Jam jelly I got earlier yes this final phase he has 99 HP 0 defense and he has an attack that will hit you three times if if it's allowed to connect all right so this fight has some rng in terms of the Power Balance caps so hopefully I get some good cap if I get three six caps I can actually quit killing four cap it's fine if I get double for cap though or triple before cap that might not be the best but we'll see this for the Louis threes the Louis because of two for three here use that other apology I'll for again [Music] got chill for cab I've no idea how bad that is I was really probably let's hope not [Music] all right good he's dead we're good I've actually never gotten triple forecast on that fight so I have no idea what's gonna happen we're good though technically a guy caught Drupal for kept I did I have a 15 dollar donation from Coco Mouse okay greetings from the front row Mike okay I have just one thing to say leave Luigi at home thank you this is Kent C Koopa as his name suggests he can't see very well so he has 70 HP and a whopping six defense if you flip him on his back he has three yeah you think however you can't actually you can actually hit him on his tail which is kind of nice here we're gonna flip him over and because he is asleep he will not flip back over oh I'm bad it's okay we're good we'll be fine I just straight up and missed that actually man it's fine you're fine you actually should die now I got four kept anyway however good and we level up again so how likely is is it for lullaby the star spirit ability to use their to miss it's like 85% that it or 85% that works right on it has failed twice before though the if it fails once the backup is to use bow and then go for it again and if it fails there well say goodbye to everything you love aka run that HP level up isn't that is that solely for Bowser yep the final bells are fight because he does he has like nine attack well based on all the defense that we do it makes it to where every attack those seven okay yeah we do have PPE up D down so alright so now we're gonna finally head off to star Haven now that we have saved all seven of the star spirits and there we will find a ship that will allow us to finally get to Bowser's Castle and settle the score once and for all [Music] and honestly it's really quite insane how how far this run has come like only the late six or six or seven years ago any percent was about as long as this category is now any percent has recently broken the 100 minute barrier it's at about one hour thirty nine minutes and 52 seconds yeah there's a point where even with all the bosses that we're doing it's still do this in about three hours 15 minutes well the one point of that Lucca could see goombario goombario way back in the background on that loop yeah he's just trying desperately the but yeah as ghosts was saying I shout Stein glory who grind painfully in that category but any person if you ask any Paper Mario runner they will say the worst category is any percent the orangie you need to complete the run is about two percent so uh yeah good luck yeah it's also just an incredibly difficult run to execute the tricks you know you need a lot of stuff to line up how much a lot of that energy comes down to the final Bowser fight right yes so it's later in the run yeah it's a lot of people don't know this in their casual playthrough but there so there's two Bowser fights and the first phase of the first Bowser fight the only case I you can actually use the star spirit ability time out on him which you wouldn't think that an ability as strong as paralyzing your enemy for several turns would work on one of the final bosses but it actually does but it's a 30% chance so yes all right does anyone want lots and lots of shrimp cake there's no cake in this run very true yes we see all of the townsfolk wishing for wishing for various things various things the prosperity of the kingdom the safety of Mario in the princess and this kids like I want to eat shrimp cake I want to eat tons of shroom cake so much in cake so now we have to start with Bowser's Castle and make our way up to Peach's castle now fun fact the music is very slightly different on the Japanese version of this uh I think as far as this dungeon theme goes but it's mostly the same finally chapter 8 so chapter eight thankfully has some very cool glitches here and there you'll see that that first off there's this forced fight right here but it's very easy all you do is knock them over with power quake yeah ku patrols are kind of nasty they have like three or five defense when they are standing up and they have spikes which is no bueno dang I thought spike was cool right spiky is cool that arty baby hey I won't leave you hanging Kirby also I might have brushed against the mic so I apologize to my competition I've had worse it's got a fist bump the mic to you okay we're good and by having worse I mean I've had star screamed into my into the mic seventy times so we're going through the floor so yeah this is really annoying lengthy sequence here we got to go through these like lava pits and then you got to go through these dark rooms and nobody likes that particular person so thankfully there's a few ways of getting around that we've also been imprisoned again yeah happens a lot can you get this light room for backup it's not required but tobacco okay just spit in place all right so we're gonna get a very important batch coming up that's why we're going all the way over here to get a very important badge why you do not even river the rhythm of the music come on I can't make it in time to music this game hasn't put the life all right so we don't actually need this badge so try to split at home it's very easy so this is called a block clip or bass with skip you can just kind of tornado jump into that block and impair carry over here and that skips in the entire basement yeah that's a very lengthy scene with no bosses only like one pseudo boss which is just a enemy mob fight it doesn't look like it seems that much time it saves so much time yeah and then worst of all like there's a dark room which you would either need to move around in which you can't see enemies and like we'd have to awkwardly spin jump or spin around in or you'd have to have what unless you wouldn't be able to spin so it's very slow to move around and it was such a really cool strat for glitchless runs that a lot of runners use where they actually like alter their capture settings so it's artificially a lot brighter than it should be and you can actually see where you're going a lot easier money because I just turn up my TV my I just have my TV set perfectly to where I can see it yeah I would do that when I would do glitchless I would turn my OBS brightness up and so I could see the the outline of the map on OBS but not on my TV it's one of the people that do it with their capture tubes you can see it on streaming it just looks absurd all right so um like I said sushi swims on land so Mario walks on water so by doing this you skip having to use sushi but then we can take that a little further clip back in hit the switch clip back out clip back in again just go through here switch scoop Cooper but the water and grab the key this is this is the one part of the run when I ran glitchless that I was envious of because these few water rooms are just so boring we just can't clip here now we're metal mario doo doo doo all right it's now coming up is a very original name cannonless you know sm64 has it scandalous so pm6 for us to have its Canlis this is actually pixel perfect so I can just clip into this wall if I do it right should be the right pixel like let's just kind of in the way and then I can just walk across the scene and avoid the cannons completely that's actually actually unfortunately the last glitch in the run or last skip unless hint-hint Luigi skip these enemies always terrify me trying to get into some of these doors with the phones coming aren't you or the Hammers alright now I'm gonna take a save because I need to manipulate Mario into peril but right here there is a chance that I cannot run away from this fight and I do have a life shroom but I'm just gonna save anyways yeah coming up is what some people would call the hardest single fight in a casual playthrough like by a considerable margin it's not often it's not necessary in any other category in fact you really should be able to just avoid it but since this is all bosses gonna have to fight the triple ante guy so we use this fight to get in the peril first kill the magic koopa slow now hopefully I run away all right way as ghost was saying unfortunately we have to fight the anti guys so first get back on PFT down the anti guy fight kind of sucks because the thing about a Wii U that we didn't mention is when mashing for whatever reason it kind of drops like half your inputs so I have to kind of mash in a certain rhythm instead of like just fun going hand with the mashing so I'm gonna save I'm gonna hope dizzy shell works because dizzy shell is mashing if it doesn't work off the reset will take like two minutes but I've gotten the approval from a limit break staff that if it fails once I'll go through it again I'll make a backup safe state just because or else we just have to go through this quiz again so we'll do one attempt without the safe stay and then one attempt with the safe state or then we'll just make a safety from there yes this is a seven question quiz with Alaska things like how many blue shy guys were there how many feet are on the screen like really silly things and ordinarily if you get three wrong you have to fight three anti guys which is kind of basically a delayed game over if you aren't specifically prepared for that fight because anti guys as we mentioned that 50 HP their attacks to either ten or twelve damage and there are three of them yeah [Music] all right so we're getting all three of them wrong and now uh well bless RNG because unless I make it the meter up to 100% it's gonna be up to oranjee if it works on all three of them's bless all right all right all right G all right now the thing that sucks is if we get four capped we are kind of we have to go for it again all right so we don't have to go for it again but we have to go for a power shock that's let's hope it works all right what don't fail me please if it does fail I could maybe back it up but I need to hope that works yes nice oh my gosh I was so scared about this fire all right let's see if I get all right so that was actually a perfect fight that was like that was the one thing I was most stressed about and so that is showing up all of these Paper Mario runners I guess I am so this will probably be a no no safe state run so yay Oh what the heck did they even get me this wasn't in countless run to reset and magikoopas a troll all right nearing the end of chapter eight so again get donations and if you want Luigi to stay home good running at a time I really like how as you progress through the dungeon the music gets more and more dynamic to just add more instruments to it really cool we did receive a thousand thousand my apologies one hundred dollars from the sound defense what ones here too many I'm immensely dude enjoying this shuffled up glitched out speedrun of one of my favorite RPGs use this to get Luigi to the party he deserves to have a bit of fun after doing all the chores at the house he does nothing you-you-you can literally go in the game he's just kind of sitting there singing writes in his diary which we're not supposed to know about he does nothing so real quick at the start of this area you see this little clue for how to proceed in this room you have to kind of go through these loads in a particular order which is up down down up down up and I mean I have this memorized from just years of playing this game and runners haven't memorized from running it but yeah if you go take the wrong path you go back to the entrance we are making very good time right now actually oh yeah so there are no more encounters at least that will waste time that we can get into the run so this was almost an encounter let's run unfortunate also we found ptrd I guess we just don't have to fight bouncer yeah all right get ready on time just kidding oh man world record by 12 minutes all right last level Oh coming up which is VP this is actually one of the first times where we actually fully charge the Quai camera and then we use bombette control is what the heck it's that's new that's new alright let's do that that's new alright pause buffer runs invalid that happens sometimes I don't know why all right let's see jump charge and then take off that alright hey look who it is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Cooper's that somebody had to say it anyways to neutral just kind of takes them out and we have to fight jr. but also a slower version of this music yes this is kind of the stat check for everything you know in this game he has 70 HP and does eight damage and he kinda alternates between his various different forms he's gonna go and like he can go into his spiky head forma his spiky head form and then he can go to as his magic wand form this wasn't the pretty sure was actually supposed to attack with what and I didn't this will be interesting I received five dollars from Shawnee high Yoshi hi Shawn bring Luigi no smiley face no face alright he's dead Joe Gipp is dead I didn't get three caps [Applause] all right so now it's time to take off that badge - got that equip these it's also what I need that we are nearing the end admire your dedication and mashing up those stairs yep my button mashing speed not with one hand but with two is actually 16 inputs a second 18 on a good day with one hand it's like 13 I think so who's up for Mario Party later Luigi is a value my palms too much all right so Bowser here is uh well he's actually pretty pretty easy if as long as I don't get three capped which is a little higher chance in two it's like I think 16% then this will be a very fast fight I just need two four caps all right that's one though out of sight you're making great time all right cool and Bowser doesn't even get to use a star shield this fights like scripted to almost always give you like 40 star points it's like it doesn't scale much at all all right Bo what a surprise that wasn't the final boss got to fight him one more time as spoiler yeah so he killed him so fast he never actually used his star rod he does the thing where he kind of becomes quote-unquote invulnerable on that first phase it just ups his defensive dam and doubles his damage but like you can't actually still hit him while he is in his uh well he has the star rod powerup he just has like a really high defense he ready for a long mashing I just realized this game sets up some pretty deep lore implications that Bowser knows how to make someone invincible while removing their heart but he doesn't do that to himself he uses the star out instead so that presumably he could keep his feelings for peach that's pretty dark now we're on the final arena you know it's final because it's in space oh my gosh for most games it's usually on a mountain or in space like it's just how RPGs work and now Bowser gets an electric charge and he's more powerful if only this was lunar dragon song and Bowser just fell off the platform [Laughter] all right so four caps pretty good it's actually a 50/50 if you get past the three cap at least in phase one phase two it's about 27% chance you get capped at three yes so this fight has two phases and there's a cattitude there's a kind of just throw away fight in between the two thankfully any damage you do in this space carries over into the next phase so he's gonna use this star rod to basically make himself actually invincible now you cannot damage him in this form at all and the star rods gave us their star spirits gave us the ability of star the star beam and this is supposed to get rid of his shield but as you can see it does nothing what do we do what are we doing now very lengthy cutscene cut saying this is a tough battle all right wing now is your time yes so this is a kind of this is a fight that happens it's basically the game basically turns into earthbound at this point it is completely scripted yeah it does kind of be on earth that actually is impossible dies of this fight so so peaches command is to say a prayer or basically to make a wish to basically bless RNG the RNG is so blessed that this fight is entirely scripted yep come on twink so now he's starting to do damage and what this kind of reveals is that the true power of the Stars comes from people people asking wishes and believing in them so if any if anyone is a pie or red Falcon sub you should spam the Twinkie moats in the chest by happy I forgot anyways so once we've done 10 damage to Cammy here way less HP than she has a thousand-year door I don't know the discrepancy or the reason for the discrepancy she also learns how to do more than just throwing blocks [Music] yeah tongues getting stronger and we powered up twinks so much that thanks nothing dink we beat Kensi Koopa I believe that's not Kenzie Koopa if you can be Koopa I believe if you buff twinks HP using like an action replay code you can again crash the game ski wants you to do things exactly as it once Cerie come to the final boss this final boss is not really about orangie heavy the only thing I need to do is hit two blocks if I hit those two blocks I will pretty much win the fight so let's RNG is just as peach is different yeah just bless orangey anyway even though it's not orangey just bless orangey anyways cuz I'd you know I'd like to beat the boss first try so twink is distracting Bowser now the star spirits are coming to our aid to power up the star beam and make it the peach beam this cutscene is also absurdly laggy on Wii these seats yes oh yeah alright alright so this is the final fight after this fight I believe will be the cutoff for leave or bring Luigi so if you have if you would like to snipe that or just push it out of reach go we're at a head that is time time to focus and get these blocks I like the North American version of this song better it has like a synth guitar rather than just sin that's wine and don't use the lecture [Music] sizzling I guess we forgot to mention is the damage that you did in phase one carries over it's a Phase two yeah so thanks to triple dip here we can use three of these shooting stars which does more damage in one turn than we should be able to do without having doing like some sort of insane superpower bounce we're in there nice these are last repel gel so one really important thing to note about this fight is Bowser can heal himself for 30 damage up to three times and this is awful because that takes a lot more time than we really have resources to deal with however if you're in danger which means you have five HP or less he does be less actually heal nice beamless is very freeing all bosses it literally just needs to be not turn three which is like about 15% chance I okay - never mind no beamless cuz I suck for fine all right that was my bad where we'll be fine all right so I complete jinx myself [Laughter] yeah it's Dora we'll be fine normally beamless is free but if you get one capped like I did totally what all right and he'll die with this bounce regardless and I have a live stream too so it's like if if I were to die it would be like very unlikely all right we're good that's Bowser all right go ahead and cut off the Luigi bid war all right so I do have a couple of donations that went towards that $50.00 from Missouri I Missouri glitch hunters and people just put decades so much time Bonecrusher robbed dog at JTA ster clover i'm glower they've all glitched hunted this game and like gone into like like looking into like the resources and like the codes of the game so they've just diving pretty deeply into it and mostly glitches you found or I'm sorry mostly glitches that were in the run that were found by some of those people shots to some of the additional runners I'm sorry if I forget you I love you but I'm sorry there's so many I'm glorianne one Giga DB Jake Agha butter Lord Kenda or Kendall max Hillman Evan 44 slopped up there there's so many I'm trying to remember all them but like even if I didn't mention you still shouts to you shouts to my commentators for providing amazing commentary also shoutouts to a Zilla mom who puts up with me dragging her to these events so if you see Zilla mom or mother's ill I forget what the tag was give her a high-five or something in fact it Mother's Day is this weekend so you should love your mothers give one last scene where we kind of figure out postgame what all the partners are doing and then peach decides to invite everyone to a party now there is a glitch where you can actually hold well there is a knock glitch that you can hold down as in the final cutscene and Luigi will not follow you to the party and that is what the bid war is for so we all have to wait seven seconds to watch this Luisi Luigi drags is slow behind to the party and if I skip him I have to do the whole boss fight again we got time actually no we don't pitch well thank you on Sunday when she does Mario RPG yeah but yeah paper mark comedians put in like so much effort there's so many runners that are like really good this game some of the relatively new runners like our butter Lord Jay cog and like let me see Kendall also Chomsky forgot Chomsky my bad they're relatively new but they have very very decent like very good times like with in the past like year-and-a-half of running who go way back to and they put a lot of work you know way back like you had you know although pie and AD like just a lot of this is this game has come a very long way oh yeah last decade had a pretty lengthy history of speedrunning oh yeah also also shoutouts to the K and D K and D crew a carton and dog and crew it's a it's a discord server I'm in with some of the Paper Mario writers the I mentioned and they're all they're awesome they're pretty much I guess like they're one of my great online discord friend groups so Andrea shouts to all the people who supported me like some raising money for Nami year after year alright so time is coming up wow it's gonna be this gonna be sub 320 that's a really decent time my PB is a is a 315 so like this is very very decent so she raises her hands to the end of this cutscene this time yeah yeah this was an awesome run I think thanks to my commentators and everyone for letting me run it and time so like basically every Mario RPG this game actually has a really awesome credit sequence but it runs for about nine minutes oh yeah no we're not watching it so yeah three three nineteen forty nine that my goal was sub three twenty so I'm perfectly happy with that that was absolutely fantastic run we beat all the bosses I didn't have to reload any save states or saves so it was a no reset run completely just didn't reset all right there I hit the spring down there basically how the springs work is there's a spring down lower that basically marks Mario as entering a cutscene and that spring marks Mario as completing a cutscene but if you hit that spring basically the game thinks that Mario ended the cutscene without starting one so I can spin jump into this block and get something called save block storage from here I'm going to swap the bow when a use bow press No alright who's your favorite partner so you're shoveling it spike spike let's go spike well we can't do but we're using bow right now so alright wait sushi sushi so sue she's pretty small we're gonna go ahead and do that again the same thing lacklustre is probably or spike is probably the best one thing I should mention is if I actually messed up that spin jump I actually softlock so let's not do that all right it's like you're gonna like this okay yes thank you I like Flavio all right I'm gonna do it one more time let's do let's do a parakarry that's really small some tiny boy Carrie strike so hard it's pretty strong all right Stella another thing we're gonna do is we're gonna do the same thing with safe blocks towards butts gonna be a see with Cooper and then you're out of Bounce but now what we're gonna do is we're going to maneuver around this little scene oh let's many we're back down there we go all right so this is for everyone who wanted Luigi to come to the party oh I missed it I missed it though dang it all right I'll do it again cuz you didn't even get to see you heard the sound effect oh you didn't get to see you're not actually jumping on Luigi you're jumping on a shy guy that's stored out-of-bounds that when you're in chapter 4 you um there's a shy guy that's like caught like that's just kind of roaming around more in the we geez house and Luigi's trying to catch it so you're bouncing on that shy guy and you will gain a bunch of height and if you wait around forty seven minutes no I'm not kidding forty seven minutes you'll gain so much height that you'll crash the game now now I don't think we have that time to wait forty seven minutes but I have a different glitch that could crash the game you know all right first off I just realize I need to make sure I have full inventory so I'm just gonna buy some dried terms or quickly yeah that's for everyone who wanted the ouija to come I just stomped on Luigi all right so we're gonna go a couple screens in the desert I'm also gonna switch to lack electro and we're gonna do item duplicate duplication again not to dupe on ion though but to get something a little better so gonna wait for this twister to come oh I missed it oh it works out anyways oh wait no it didn't work dang it I got you I got to ride again let's get this fire flower for the run perfect so I wouldn't say that the sleeve is not good and rested but it's sleep I guess it's sleep it counts it's fine shorter run so this is your third time running crystals actually in a major marathon how is this what keeps bring you back to this game this is just sort of one of those one of my games I guess like I've been running this six seven I forget what year it was it's I've been running off and on for like a long time and my buddy matric has helped me work on like optimizing the route over the years like a lot and we've just we have brought the time down from like my time way back on the SDA days was like a 109 and now we've got a route there I mean I had it I still have a time of a time of 58 14 now and now there was some new tech discovered two days ago that I had a z' ago two days ago that I spent the last two days rerouting the run so surely it won't be ready for today oh what's ready oh oh okay so it's ready to go so what is that what does that change with run changing something up in the last couple days don't have any major changes to how you run it uh one section of the game had a major skip that I had to completely reroute and because now we're skipping a spell that we normally would have I had to route in some extra items to cover for that so my muscle memory is not built for it yeah I've had I've done literally two runs two full runs with it I feel cold I feel comfortable enough doing the run but I'm sure it'll go fine I just I physically not had enough time to get muscle memory built for this so it's good it's gonna be like I have to stop and think about what I'm going to be but once I knew what the once I like knew how to do this skip is like no I can't just not put this in I just wish he discovered it either a week later so I wouldn't have had to do this or a week earlier so I would have had time to set it up properly get the muscle memory of it worked in yeah it's about how much time does it save you think initial estimates are about seventy-five seconds seventy-five okay it's a lot major that's a lot for what been an hour-ish run right so hmm so I see the last couple times you actually did this as a race I believe both of them with uranium anchor correct once of this category and once of the hundred percent category do you prepare a little differently for a race compared to a solar run or nope I prepare exactly the same I just I just when I'm doing a race I don't really focus too much on who I'm up against or what they're doing I just focus on my play and I just practice like it I practice like it's gonna be a solo run even though it's gonna be a race and I just play just do it to play my best good good so another later this marathon you like should be running a vagrant story on the PSX console what are you doing to get ready for that if I give us a quick preview so far I've done absolutely nothing to get rid of get ready for that up and focus I've been focusing on this game so my plan is after this run then maybe I'll do a little of practice on that but I was um I'm coming to the marathon a lot less worried oh that game that I am about Crystalis because I did a ton of rerouting and optimization for that like within the last like month or so in just a couple of weeks ago I took the record for that by about nine minutes so a lot of good rerouting then yeah so hopefully someone doesn't find another another skip tonight and make you after we're at it again if the only person I would think of that would likely find a skip would be risk break or why and he can't record right now cuz he doesn't have capture equipment perfect everything they find that so so you're one of the member of people members that have been here to every limit break since the first year in 2015 how has it been watching her for actually you started as an attendee you've been both enforcement and now your staff this year how's it feel watching the event grow from a humble beginnings to now this 285 odd person event it's just been amazing seeing the growth of this over the years because I mean the first event I think we hit I don't remember the exact numbers of it we were all just crammed into a censures house or sorry we got to get the name right it is cafe Denton cafe Denton yes the food there was excellent I just have to say but it's just really awesome seeing it come as far as it has and go from you know I mean we raised I mean we've raised six figures the last couple of years and just seeing all the new faces here meeting all the new people and it's just it's just been awesome I mean I'm I'm similar because I was going up and all the gdq's since almost the beginning not the very beginning but close and it was the same thing there where the event was when I first went I think was like 80 people the first year and now it's you know 2500 people going to these events and it's just almost overwhelming to see just how much growth potential there are for these I'm a support there are and how many people are interested in actually coming to these and it's just really awesome to meet everybody who is able to attend I agree it's been wonderful because I was I think is what was at that first event and seeing the growth from then to now has been amazing to see a lot of fun actually over the years so so it looks like it was about time to get you started with your
