statues they have gods that have eyes and can't see they have gods that have ears and can't hear they have gods that have mouths and can't talk but aren't you glad that we have a god that can talk to you in the midnight hour aren't you glad that we have a god in the words of the old church he'll walk with you he'll talk with you and tell you his own there's no god like jehovah because the only god is jehovah and we serve him on this sunday morning for all that he has done for us i'm feeling good this morning because it's palm sunday ride on king jesus ride on king jesus somebody type it in the too hard that god cannot solve listen if you can have it god can heal it and whatever you have today god wants you to bring those problems to him the bible says cast throw your cares on the lord because he careth for you aren't you glad we serve someone who cares about us yes we are so glad we serve a compassionate lovering and considerate god listen it's our time for our scroll patrol that's you for the self-esteem that we need god some people that we rely on are using us for their own ulterior motives remind us that all we need we can find in you master we come asking you to continue to all right all right come on if you're home stand with me thank you jesus thank you thank you [Music] just imagine [Music] when jesus came riding in [Music] and the crowd were gathered around them saying hosanna to the king blessed is he who's come in the name of the lord hosanna that being saved now lord somebody needs some salvation we praise you now [Music] for salvation one last time [Music] my soul [Music] my mom [Music] jesus [Music] jesus at the mention of your name every knee will bow tongue proclaim jesus [Music] jesus you our savior you are lord and you are your god yes yes luke 19. as we remember the triumphal entry of our savior today i dare not preach anything else but that luke 19 beginning at verse 28 and concluding with the 38th verse i'll be reading from the new international version of the holy written and it says after jesus had said this he went on ahead going up to jerusalem as he approached beth fiji and bethany at the hill called the mount of olives he sent two of his disciples saying to them go to the village ahead of you and as ye enter it you will find a coat tied there which no one has ever written untie it bring it here if anyone asks you why are you untied you'd say the lord needs it those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them as they were untying the coat its owners asked them why are you untying the coat they replied the lord needs it they brought it to jesus through their cloaks on the coat and put jesus on it he went along people spread their cloaks on the road he came near the place where the road goes down the mount of olives the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise god in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen blessed is the king who comes in the name of the lord peace in heaven and glory in the highest i want to focus on that 30th verse says that when you go into this village you will find a coat tied there which no one has ever ridden untie that coat and bring it here i want to talk today simply about considerations from the coat considerations from the colt c-o-l-t why don't you look at that neighbor someone in your home or you can look up at the screen at me and say hey neighbor this morning's message is considerations from the coat come give the lord a big hand clap of praise will you god bless you it was shakespeare was credited with the saying that there are tongues in trees there are books in brooks there are sermons in stones with my machology working with me today can i make one addition to shakespeare's statement i would say that there are sermons and stones books in brooks tongues in trees and there's an academy in animals you can learn a lot from looking at the animal kingdom even those listed in the word of god in genesis chapter 8 we find that there's a dove that teaches us that safety should always come first remember noah sent out that dove the first time and he came right back to let noah know that it was not safe for them to come out of the ark send that same dove out again he comes back with an olive breach in his beak to let noah know that it's almost safe but not safe enough for you to come out and the third time he sent that dub out he did not return because it was safe for them to step out of the ark you learn a lot from animals look again at genesis and when you look at genesis you can begin to migrate over to the book of proverbs chapter 6 around verse 6 it says go to the ant thou sluggard consider her ways and be wise that even in the summertime the ant prepares their food in the summertime for the wintertime and can i tell you something that summer in winter is metaphorical because when things are going well that's the summer of your life but how many can attest that winter is coming and you need to make preparations for your winter not when winter comes but while you're in the summertime of your life you keep going over you see in the book of mark chapter 5 that there were some demons that were exercised from that man he said his name was legion and when the demons were exercised they begged could they go into the pigs and the pigs the bible says ran off the cliffs and drowned because they teach us that the devil has no right to occupy space in your heart and mind you you can learn a lot just by looking at animals they give us much to consider when you look in the book of numbers with the donkey remember balaam's donkey they were riding along and balaam's donkey the bible says god opened the donkey's mouth and he began to speak to balaam which lets me know that god can use whomever he wants to use to speak his work you can learn a lot from animals but brothers and sisters i want to tell you that there are some things that we need to consider from a coat now i'm not talking about uh coat 45 come on help me somebody i i'm not talking about the indianapolis coats no there's a different type of coat that i want to lift for your examination and you may say pastor you just told us about the donkey with uh of the particular prophet of balaam but now you're talking about a coat isn't a coke and the donkey the same thing they're similar but they are different a donkey is usually referring to an adult a donkey but the bible says here that jesus is riding not on a donkey he's riding on a coat and a coat is a young male who is not really above the age of five and jesus rides in on this coat because zechariah 9 9 says that he would come this messiah would come riding in on a coat on a young male in experienced donkey and i think that if we look at this particular text i i know that on this palm sunday we often look and cast the limelight upon the crowd that begins to shout hosanna to the king blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord and i told you that hosanna means saved now these people did not want a spiritual leader they wanted a political leader that would save them from the tyranny administered upon them by rome they did not want a spiritual leader when they were saying save now they were saying save us from political oppression but jesus was coming to save us from spiritual oppression and here he is i i know we focus so much on that crowd but but the the coat said there are some things i i think you need to consider because although those people were saying hosanna to the king and then john's account in john 12 said they gathered these palm branches and they were waving the palm branches why because palms are symbols of victory but but but the quote says please cannot tell my story because if i tell my story the people just won't have a symbol of victory they'll be able to experience victory in their life okay if we're going to experience victory by telling your story what are some things we need to consider he says number one look at the fact of where i was jesus tell the disciples go into the village and you'll find a coat tied there untie the coat and tell the owners thereof that the lord has need of it watch this now it it seems to paint the picture watch this i'm about to throw a little preaching nugget on you right here that it seems as if jesus is intimating that the lord can't use you if you all tied up i don't know what has you tied up on today but he said that whatever that that has you tied that it needs to be loose and it seems to appear that that god did not use or could not use this coat until it had become untied but permit me to tell you if that's the case if that's the signature mark for being used by god can we be honest none of us fit the bill for being used by god if we have to be untied to be used by him why because all of us are tied up by something don't you sit there and look at me this morning with that tone of voice i can't hear you but i can feel you because you're trying to sit there as if you have been delivered from everything in your life let's be honest this morning all of us may be saved but we ain't all delivered it's still some stuff that has us tied up i wish somebody would talk to me it's still some stuff that has us tied down and i'm glad this morning that irrespective of what has me tied down irrespective of what the restraints are that god can still use me beyond me being tied up watch this because what i want to present to you today what the first consideration from the coat is that often we think that tying being tied down prevents us from being used but if you look closely at the text it teaches us that being tied down does not prevent you from being used it prepares you for being used how do you reach that particular uh particular thought process pastor watch this now notice if you will jesus tells the disciples go over into the village and you will find a coat watch this now you must understand that back in those biblical times that a coat was an animal of choice watch this and cults we are told by theologians have a proclivity have a tendency to wonder coats have a tendency to leave the pasture that they're in if they are not attended to and jesus already knew that before he told the disciples but watch what happens jesus says find the coat that's tired watch this because if the coat wasn't tied up there's a good chance that the coke would have wandered off and missed its opportunity of a lifetime because no other animal can say they have the pristine privilege and the delightful pleasure of ushering jesus in during its triumphal entry no other animal has that particular designation and this particular donkey this young male donkey could have missed its opportunity of a lifetime if it were not for the restraints holding him and keeping him tied up i'm trying to tell somebody today that a lot of you are are feeling as if because of the restraints that are holding you down because of whatever still has you tied up it may be your job it may be your finances it may be you all together whatever it is you may not need to look at it as a burden it might be a blessing because if god didn't tie you down when your opportunity of a lifetime would have presented itself you may have wandered off and miss your opportunity of where you needed to be at the time that you needed to be there i'm trying to tell somebody today don't miss your opportunity because you're so busy trying to chase what's right there in front of you god wants me to tell somebody stop getting in a hurry because it may be god is restraining you not because he's trying to hold you down but god has peeked into your future and he sees what's better for you down the line but many of us will settle for the immediate and bypass the ultimate i'll say it again don't you miss your ultimate blessing because you're so enraptured by what's immediately in front of you god says i have something better for you but it's in the waiting room and if i have to tie you down by your of your own recognizance i will because i need to bless you then you hear job said i know it seems like he's killing me but he said although he slayed me yet will i trust him because job knew that although the suffering was holding him back it seemed because he put his trust in god what restrained him in the blessing him uh uh it's a blessing for this coat to be tied up because it has the tendency to wonder and he could have missed the opportunity of a lifetime if he was not tied up also you must understand that if he wasn't tied up the disciples could have easily missed this quote what do you mean pastor because notice we're talking about second century palestine jesus is time you act as if there was just one coat out there in the field that they know this particular region was populated with many cults and if it weren't for that coat being tied to whatever he was tied to then the disciples would not have known which particular coat for them to choose have i got some help out there because a lot of times we think that something is actually hindering us but it's actually helping us to fulfill the destiny that god has for us i know i'm right about it because there's so many times it looked like i was experiencing a problem but the problem was getting me closer to my promise so many times it looked like i was facing a burden but it opened the door for my blessing so many times it looked as if i was facing an obstacle but it was an opportunity in disguise let me see can i make it live for you when my dad used to work my dad was what you call a master carpenter i mean my dad can do the thing and one day my dad because he was trying to get another promotion he got up on this ladder he shouldn't have gotten on and my dad fell down on the ladder he hurt himself y'all and he had to go to the doctor he went to the doctor and said i'm complaining about my side hurting and guess what after the doctors ran all of their tests they came back and said mr mackey the reason why your side is hurting is not because of your fault it's because you are in stage one of prostate cancer y'all don't hear me today and the doctor told my dad you ought to be blessed you ought to thank god because if you wouldn't have had your fault you never would have come in and your cancer being as aggressive as it looks it would have progressed y'all don't hear me today and i know y'all saw my dad preaching on last week but if it wasn't for the restraints if it wasn't for the fall he wouldn't have been able to stand y'all don't hear me today as if it wasn't for his fault he wouldn't be able to stand and i'm trying to tell you you want to thank god for the restraints in your life thank god for what looks like a burden because when god gets through with it he can take your restraint and make it your release he can take your burden and make it your blessing he can take your sour lemons and make it some sweet lemonade is there anybody out there that know all things still work together for the good of them that love the lord yes that's the first consideration the second consideration from this quote is that the bible says luke says that this coat had never been written on that's very good because that means this particular coat was not trained and can i tell you something if this coat was not trained that means that the coat was supposed to be out of control he was supposed to be bulking and he was supposed to be jumping he was not supposed to be standing still and carrying jesus where he needed to go so if he's never been trained if he's in experience if he's supposed to be bulking and jumping all around because he's never been ridden on then how was he able to keep his composure how was he able to do what he needed to do when he didn't have the training when he didn't have the experience can i tell you why because whenever you're in the presence of jesus he can take what's supposed to be out of control i wish about it would help me out there and he can put it in in control and i got a witness out there i know it seems like the world is out of control when you look at the border you see all those children trying to make it to the united states every day have y'all seen the pictures five and six-year-olds are taking it upon themselves to go and out and look for a better life it seems like it's out of control these shootings are out of control you heard about what happened in atlanta you heard about what happened in boulder colorado but some of y'all didn't hear that in the bronx in new york somebody pulled out a gun on a playground where children were playing and i got some help in here but thank god nobody was injured it looks like this thing is out of control and i know that the congress the democrats in particular are saying we need to get tougher on gun laws have y'all heard that that's what we need to do ban these assault rifles that don't have any serial numbers that's out there on the black market and in the streets and i got some help out there and they're saying we need to do all of this for these particular policies and i agree with them but let me tell you something let me give you this for free we have too many politicians that are concerned who don't want to do nothing about guns they are more concerned listen with the power of the gun than they are with the effect of the bullet i think i just said something we have too many people that that want to give more power for the power of the gun than the effect of the bullet and they think that all we got to do to get this thing in control is pass another law but can i just be honest with y'all regardless of how many laws they pass somebody in a few weeks it's going to kill somebody else somebody tomorrow is going to kill somebody else that's just the world that we're living in but can i tell you something if we really want to take this situation that's out of control and get it back in control can i tell you how to do it we don't need more policies we need somebody powerful and i got some help in here i said we don't need another policy yeah it'll help if we want real change we need power to come from above because if my people i need some witnesses out there call by my name would humble themselves pray seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then he'll hear from heaven forgive our sin and heal our land is there anybody out there that know we serve a god that's able hug joe biden may be in charge but god is still in control kamala harris may be in charge but god is in control grand juicy may be in charge but god is in control because the earth is still the lord and the fullness thereof anybody knew he got power the world and they that dwell therein we serve almighty god maybe you don't serve the god i serve but anybody out there no he's so mighty he can speak to the wind and speak to the waves and say peace be still if you get it for wind if you get it for waves he can do it for the united states of america for thine is the kingdom the power and the glory forever amen let me tell you one more thing and i i'll leave you alone the consideration of the code number one he teaches us that your restraints may end up causing you to go into the release of your next blessing then number two it teaches us that although things may look as if it's out of control the presence of jesus can bring it back in control but lastly look at this coach because where jesus is sitting the coat is sitting on top of jesus right that means that the coat is humble enough to let jesus be lifted up and church if we gonna get the victory we got to learn to humble ourselves enough where jesus can be lifted up i don't know about you but but i'm glad that i know who deserves to be lifted it's not pastor mackin no it's not you it's not me but he deserves to be lifted and i'm wondering those watching me today how many of you know that god deserves to be lifted and the reason why you came on this live today is because you know he deserves to be lifted what are you waiting on won't you take some time right now to lift him up and give his name praise some of you may are watching me haven't given god a good praise yet well take some time on this palm sunday to give god great praise for all that he's done for what he's doing right now and for what he's getting ready to do thank you for your praise but guess what y'all there's another way to lift jesus up not only should you lift him up by praise but lift him up by position what you mean brother pastor because if jesus is riding on the coat that means the coat is down here and that means jesus is up there what are you saying brother pastor you want to live your life where you're not the center of attraction you're not the center of attention but jesus should always be the center of attention jesus should always be above and lifted in your life and when you look at a whole lot of people when you talk to them they talk as if they woke them own selves up they talk as if that they got what they have because of what they have done but can i get a witness in the place that can testify that you live your life with an open hand because you know that you got to keep jesus lifted at all times you got to stay low so god can always elevate you don't get the big head don't start smelling yourself don't get too big for your bridges i know you're smart but it's somebody else smarter i know you work hard but somebody else works harder than you but they haven't gotten further than you cause you got something that they don't have you have the lord on your side and the book says it's not by might i feel preaching coming up my left side of thy power but by my spirit say of the lord haven't you heard folks say but i pulled myself up by my own bootstraps haven't you heard some folks say that but i just got one question for you if you think you pull yourself up by your own bootstraps who gave you the boot and who gave you the strap it was nobody but the lord and if it had not i feel pretty good now i said if it had not been for the lord that was on my side where would i be because i realize i'm dressing like a dress not because of me but because of him i live where i live drive what i drive because of the lord on my side can somebody not brag on you but take some time to lift jesus up make him the center of attention and brag on him i'm going pilgrim since i talk about animals today it reminds me of a little story i heard on how you ought to brag on the lord that one day all the animals in the jungle were having a testimony service the birds said we'll start first they start testifying we're glad that god gave us a voice so we can sing beautiful melodies all throughout the day when they got through testify the hulk got up and said well i'm glad that when the storms come and the winds blow i have a wingspan that's large enough that allows me to glide through the storm god bless you brother brother hulk finn on top of that the monkey got up said i want to thank god that i'm able to swing from treetop to treetop thank you brother monkey then the lion got up the king of the jungle and said i'm just glad that i'm the king of this jungle and then the owl the eye was the last one the owl got up and all the owl said was who they said what's wrong with you al now all of us already told our testimony what you getting up here talking about who who who fought because they all said i want to know who woke you up this morning i want to know who started you on your way i want to know who gave you food on your table i want to know who gave you shelter over your head i want to know who gave you joy and sorrow i want to know who gave you hope for tomorrow i want to know who gave you peace in the midst of confusion i want to know who gave you favor in the midst of what you're going through see some of y'all shouting cause you got your little stimulus check and i got a witness in here thank god for the stimulus ties and offering ought to go up this week i said thank god come on help me pilgrims thank god for the stimulus because 1400 10 of 1400 is 140 and i got myself a witness in this room that can thank god that you got to give the lord what belongs to him but guess what church if i didn't get a stimulus i thank god i got something better what you got pastor i got his favor is there anybody that can praise them this morning that you're glad for your stimulus but you're even more excited that you've got favor on your life because favor will open doors stimulus can't open favor will give you an opportunity that you didn't qualify for favor will keep you healthy and you ain't even got a vaccine yet baby favor will give you what you need i'm wondering this morning how many can praise god because you know who did it for you if you got that same testimony that the owl had look at your neighbor look at somebody close to you and say neighbor help me praise the lord help me lift him up help me glorify his name because neighbor can i tell you everything that happened to me that was good god did it said like you mean it everything that was good that happened to me god damn it i got a few questions who woke you up this morning who started you on your way who put food on your table who gave you favor who died for you who got up fire who's coming back for you nobody but the law go don't don't you get beside yourself to think because of where you are it's been because of your own might your own power no the coat teaches us that he has to be the center of attention and whenever you become the main attraction of your own movie it's time for you to be replaced the lord is commissioning you today to put him in his proper place god's supposed to be on the high horse we on the high horse we're sitting on the donkey wanting people to adorn us with praise oh i'm so wonderful oh i'm so marvelous oh i just broke the mold when god made me yes your bible says you're fearfully and you're wonderfully made but although we're fearfully and wonderfully made don't you become arrogantly manufactured and that's because we don't look to god we look to our selves thank you colt for your your story for those considerations today and maybe you are watching said pastor mackey i i've tried to do this life thing by myself listen you don't have enough power in and of yourself to do it but i know somebody who's able to do exceeding and abundantly above all you can ask or think according to the power that's at work in you and in me come on to jesus today be saved today how must i be saved believe one friday on the skull shape healing of blood so cross jesus died for your sin but he didn't stay there early sunday
