PALIA: The Order and the Forbidden Magic of Palia (Lore Analysis)

I want to go ahead and say don't let the room fool you okay I'm not a cozy person I play cozy games and MMOs because I get frustrated very easily getting to the video the lore that we're covering today it there's like three major points in today's video it's like a three layer cake all right we're going to start off with the first layer then the second layer then we're going to wrap it up with the third layer with the icing on top let's go ahead and get into the lore that we have today this one is not spooky by the way I know it's October and I said we're going to be doing spooky dookie but I want to get this one out of the way I I want to cover flow so yeah what is flow in the world of palea the concept of flow holds great significance it's a Mystical Force that plays a central role in The Game's lore inar and hecka by the way if you don't know who inar and hecka are one uh what the two they are NPCs in the game that are gers gers are like golems in Minecraft like iron golems in Minecraft yeah that's probably what best way I inar explains that flow is essentially the embodiment of life itself the very soul of living beings this force is something that nature and the world can absorb making it Eternal and indestructible it's what is often referred to as Mana in other games mana's magic it's World of Warcraft Skyrim all that there's Mana which is also considered a life force of practically everything however heckla the other Galer has a more practical approach to what flow is flow is a force that can connect the elements and influence the properties of plants and animals also flow could be stored within Crystal or flow Stones making it versatile and a crucial element in the game Flow Stones as explained by zi in the game zi is a grimlin he's my boy Zaki explains that flow stones are the fossils of dead magical creatures and beings so that force is encapsuled in a stone now flow isn't just a generic Magical Force in pelia it is closely connected to the elements kind of like what hecka said for example there is something called pyrro flow which is a combination of fire and flow serving as a fuel source in the game this is found in the fire temple and you learn that ancient humans use this as a fuel source this is they were like we're going to put this together and this is going to do stuff for us you also learn by Gina doing the water fish constellation that the water released from that Temple had flow infused within it so with this concept we can go and assume that flow is attached to elements like there's pyrro flow obviously Hydro flow obviously Gina confirmed that she didn't call it Hydro flow but we're going to go ahead and say Hydro flow and then there's going to be like an air flow and an earth flow those are the four elements and together they make the Avatar who went missing over a 100 years ago so let's talk about the Maui for a second the maeri are the unique inhabitants of pilia who are notable for their distinct purple appearance which might also be connected to flow there's a theory that we're going to dive into for a second but if you really focus on the world lore it's it's a Croc of it's a good theory it's a really good theory but the mjeri have a governing body called the order or the United order of the palean Republic but that's a mouthful so we're just going to say the order just like everybody else in the game and they're headquartered in the capital this organization was established with one vital mission to regulate the use of flow and prevent conflicts that could arise from the use of it one of the most noteworthy aspects of the order is it strict stance on the use of flow mairi are unable to use it it is outlawed only certain people within the order can use flow and they use it to hunt down evil Sorcerers and things like that however they avoid using it at all cost they rarely employ it this strict flow prohibition stems from it being perceived as highly volatile and associated with a mysterious event response with The Disappearance of humans in the game in ancient times humans used Flo almost daily but something drastic and catastrophic happened because of flow which forced humans to go into the ground to lock themselves away got F real quick but that's when the maeri came however because of what the humans did and which caused their disappearance the order put a ban on Flow use let's go ahead and get into the nitty-gritty of everything who can use flow who uses flow and who can't use flow first off gers can't use flow like they literally lack the ability to use it so hecka inar is just not something they're able to use however grimlin their use is somewhat paradoxal they're known to use they just suck at it and it's not illegal for them to use Flo it it is not illegal they are not majeri they can utilize it any way they can and they do so operating a cartel or engaging in piracy which you learn by Anie Anie talks about how grimlin pirates use flow and one of the reasons why I feel like this is the law and it was established this way is because the only known species was mjeri at that time on Paleo and I feel like the order just did not rewrite the law since grimlin can use it since they're not majeri so can humans humans are allowed to use flow it is completely legal for us to use it however it is illegal as from aeri just letting you know that the order exercises strict control over the US of flow allowing only those who are connected to the organization and granted approval access to use it this level of Regulation enables them to Monitor and manage the usil flow especially in smaller tightly Nick groups now the librarian CI in Kil a village has connections to the order and I firmly believe that there is going to be an order story line that's going to be coming very soon not very soon but like within the next year there's going to be more order focused quests and things like dodging the order or aiding the order we don't really know yet however CER has connections to the order and we know this because she has a secret back room containing a bunch of baned books and we know once you go back there that the order prevents certain knowledge being spread that's why there's banned books not Penthouse back there all right it's it's it's a different type of thick it's a thick book of you cannot do however and to No Surprise despite the ban of flow there are a few residents in Pia specifically the Kil a village who continue to use it WTH for example smuggles flow and fuse or magical objects for Zaki and he smuggles them for the cartel and reth smuggles them for zi and the reason why reth is employed by Zeki is because he actually needed to get a flow infused item for Tish now I'm going to tell you something really dark in this game okay and I feel like I am a man telling his child that Santa doesn't exist cuz this is how sad this is he has this item and he gave it to Tish and this item is an illegal flow in fused flower that she puts in her hair the reason why she has this is because she has a terminal sickness if Tish does not wear this flower she will become unived she would be dead dead so WTH did a good Big Brother move and got himself involved with illegal so his sister can continue living good guy reth another notable flow user is Tamala who possesses an hourglass necklace infused with flow granting her an exceptionally long life of possibly several hundred years honestly like if you look if you go through her house and you read the books and everything you figure out that she's old as hell like she's practically like a g I don't know if I'm going to keep that in the video or not I might need to cut that also in our house you learn that there is a treasure Trope of alchemy there literally there is a pot in that pot she's obviously brewing a potion and she's also known to use a love potion I on hin before disposing of him not like killing him she dumped his ass she used love potion on him got what she wanted and then dumped them she didn't she didn't the mystery deepens when an ancient note is addressed at Tamala from ammani ammani is uh a person in the order one question about it Tamala claims to be named after her grandmother who worked for the order however there are hints that suggest she'd been around for a significantly longer time if you go through her stuff you learn that Tamala and that hourglass like I said earlier grants her extremely long life so Tamala is a shyy character and she is just my type now getting to the point of this video and why I wanted to do it Singularity 6 posted in a Reddit AMA ask me anything and they answered a question if there's going to be an antagonist and they said there will be a main antagonist in the game they don't go and say that the main antagonist is a person an entity or a political system however ASI a character in the game reveals that humans in Pia are confined to the valley and cannot leave until the order has fully investigated the situation this raises questions about the role of the order and the impact of the game storyline I firmly believe the order is going to be the main antagonist I think they're going to come in and try to add rules and regulations against humans and I do think this is when tala's character becomes significantly more important because then I believe follow me here that we'll gain an flow skill or an Alchemy skill since technically it's not illegal for us to use flow we could use it and I I think that would be a very dope twist where the order comes in and tries to take control of the human situation and regulate things but they did confirm there's a main ant Agonist there is a bad person a a big bad coming and I I believe it has a connection to the order of some kind I don't know how exactly we would fight back or to push them out or maybe to prove to them that flow isn't that bad so let's go and dive into a theory that I found in the Discord even though it is not true it is not connected to pan lore whatsoever if you if you look up real paleion lore and you connect the zodiacs and the signs and the moons and stuff like that you learn who created the majeri and who created the humans that's another video so I'm not going to dive completely into it right now but there is a theory that I totally dig and I wish was true but it's not however in pilia there is room for an intriguing theory about the orders and evolution of flow some players speculate that humans perfected the use of flow however something catastrophic happened with the flow prompting humans either go underground hide or even shift into another dimension but the ones who remained outside the ones that are left out and theing cold evolved into the majeri that would be sick however that is not the lore that the game's going to go with I wish it would though I think that'd be really cool because we do know that the flow does alter the users for example the Beast of the Elder Woods beast of the Elder Woods has made a flow inar has confirmed that so who's to say I can't transform a human into a majeri and I think that'd be really cool I think that would be a really neat thing as let's say they give you a flow skill or an Alchemy skill you use flow and the more you use it the more it transforms your body and eventually you kind of evolve into a majeri I think that'd be really sick you drink a potion and you're you become a majeri and then unlocks a new character customization I think that'd be amazing I think that'd be a really cool and unique thing to do that is flow this is possibly the the longest lore video that we've done and we Dove pretty deep because this is setting the groundwork for some other videos I had to get this one out of the way I had to get it done because a lot of the things that we're going to discuss and a lot of the lore that's going to be coming from this game is going to be focused around flow and we
