Some background on S:76 since this short didn't tell anyone that much about his story:
Before he was S:76, he was Jack Morrison. Morrison joined the military at 18 and quickly made a name for himself. He earned a spot in the governments classified "solider enhancement program" which basically turned people in perfect soldiers, a la Captain America.
Morrison and Gabriel Reyes (who was also part of the soldier enhancement program, Reyes is also Reaper) were two of the first members inducted into Overwatch. They quickly became friends and Reyes became the leader of Overwatch.
After the Omnic Crisis, Morrison was rewarded by making him the first official commander of Overwatch (this led to a rift between Reyes and Morrison) and he became the face of hope and Overwatch.
Overwatch later received tons criticism and faced many different allegations. Reyes started an internal rebellion. One year after Overwatch was disbanded, Morrison and Reyes got in a fight at the Swiss HQ and it led to an explosion.
Morrison was announced dead and was apparently buried but his body was never recovered.
Five years later, a guy going by the name of Soldier 76 started attacking financial institutions, shady companies and former Overwatch buildings. S:76 began acting in a Punisher-esque way, not necessarily good, but not bad either.
S:76 is now the target of an international manhunt.
The characters in the game don't know that S:76 is Jack Morrison, but we do based on the Jack Morrison skin for S:76 that is in the game.
I really like the "Punisher" aspect to his character, where he almost seems to care more about punishing the guilty rather than saving the innocent up until the last moment
I love how he almost chooses to go after the thugs rather than save the girl. Just a little detail that goes a long way in developing his character.
All of these cinematics ooze so much personality it really makes me wish Overwatch had some form of campaign - or even lore files to unlock.
Bad parenting animated.
"Alejandra, here is some money, go buy some food. But make sure to carefully avoid the dozens of street thugs in the neighborhood."
"No problem mom, bye."
Man, I forgot just how gravelly 76's voice actually was.
On a serious note, Blizzard knocks it out of the park for another cinematic. I'm getting stuck on whether I love theirs or Blur's more.
Though I still think Dragons was way better considering we didn't learn too much about 76 here. Maybe it should've been another duo trailer?

Calling it right now, we're gonna have a map set on the moon in an expansion at some point. They showed Winston on a moon base and that last shot made it clear, that a city or some major structure has been built on the moon. I doubt they'll never bring this up again.

I find it insane how well made these shorts are. Seriously can't wait for the game and more shorts to be released.
