khiry Robinson Vince shear reps did all three of those guys I know is a stellar split wide to the light on second and seven Craven fires it out of bounds in the direction of skilar good coverage by the giant secondary and they needed it because there was no pressure on Drew Brees this offensive line as we mentioned together for the first time the starting five since week two you can see right to the tight end Benjamin Watson for a 25 yard pass play boy he's really just kind of first on the scene here has a play getting vertical up the field you had safety Craig Dahl walked all the way down he faking that blitz news was it recognized before the snap exactly the Saints hustled up to the line of scrimmage got that snap to prevent that challenge we'll go back here and take a look at the end of the play to see if this was an actual completed catch now the officials have got together to determine whether the challenge flag was thrown prior to the mixed Saints standard his hands looks like the Giants as a team flipping the field their office doesn't get anything but the punt team gets him knocked down inside the file again Sean Payton continuing to be aggressive here in the first half of the team throw coming off his own backhand second at 30 this is cotton it is close to a first down and you know the Saints are going to test the middle of this Giants run defense outs for Dallas nice out there on the edge but when we talk to defensive coordinator Steve spagnolo his big concern was the success that they had in the middle he felt that they roughed our guys up a little bit on the inside Robertson did pick up the first though a new set of downs for the Saints from the Giants 40 [Applause] the staff new still infraction defense number 95 five-yard penalty Jonathan Hawkins you know used to be that really only the center could snap the wall and you'd catch that guy in the neutral zone now you know the adjacent line and you're even two away if they feel that they're first to Steve and now cooks and down on the log illustrious career of Drew Brees he has just sent yet another career-high 162 yards passing in the first corner alone yeah it's fun to watch him I mean all the way from he come here on game day to watch his pregame rituals of getting ready for the game and then when he comes out he's got great chemistry and and he a made it but he made a great comment earlier this year I think some fans for the Saints got a little bit nervous about the direction of the team after that Philadelphia game he's the listen we've got the right type of guys here we're young were inexperienced we're growing we're gonna get this thing turned around and he saw something with this group that a lot of people didn't see and you can see the way they've played here the last couple of weeks they really are starting to build the chemistry with this young wide receiver group and you got to understand this is a guy that is missing Jimmy Graham Jimmy Graham was such a huge part of this Saints offense and with him not there in the red zone at critical times drew Brees always had that go-to guy he's trying to develop that rapport now with a very very young group of wide receivers you take away marques colston this is a young group well Brees telling us on Friday miss might be oh and three start we knew it would begin to click so we started to find our groove well weights you go over to shortly continue today possession of the Saints went three and out back-to-back touchdown drives Harris out to the 22 [Music] and Ally lie batting and the Giants offense will go back to work and we talk about those little herbs and flows of momentum during the course of the game here's one right here for the Giants and have a three and out right here you've got to come out we've got to establish a little bit of rhythm and it strange is similar to that Philadelphia game where they just marched right down the field against the Eagles and then really kind of struggled the rest of the game the opening series here this afternoon very impressive they've got to get back into that rhythm that they had for that first series while a dark - am about 200 times - the outside in that situation we've seen Eli during the course of the season when he's making these vertical throws down the field Wayne Harris at the top of your screen just a little shake and then series and gain some momentum back and and right now if the Saints are making it easy for him you know poor run defense that allows a big run by leans dark wire and right there adding 15 to the end of to have guys like Willie Snead on your roster if you're gonna have success now what it will each need to do during the off season he worked as a counselor at the Manning passing Academy he asked he after that Buffalo game happen that the little the glitch in Philadelphia but other than that they're hanging in there they're finding ways to win football come on time down in Seattle later today on Fox movie Eagles and Redskins have the weekend off so the Giants with an opportunity to open up some ground on their division rivals they trailed by seven one of the things that Tom Coughlin's shared with us is he asked the players I want you to define and what you think some of the characteristics of our team is and this leadership comes about 50 players they start talking about about being scrappy about being brilliant for this Giants team they just find a way whether it's gray hairs with the now that's a subject [Applause] those words pretty scrappy mentally tough that has been the identity in our wins it really has and I think it's important if you're gonna have a good team those are characteristics that you have to have because you faced adversity multiple times week after inside but he continues to hold that fake to come back and fake play-action and that that confuses your defense they haven't made that transition from pass rush to run tracking at that one nine yards for Spiller second down and water most trip into the red zone for the Saints their fruit touchdown span from outside the 20 second down it's grommets in it he picks on the first as we head towards the two-minute warning Marin New Orleans with the Saints leading the Giants 21 14 and Robinson remains down even though this is running back by committee that they functioned very very well together as a group khiry Robinson very physical like Mark Ingram in his running style he gets a lot of these carries down here close to the goal line know if his ankle got trapped and rolled up on down there at the bottom of that pile so the Saints medical staff continues the tent to Robinson that wasn't the same saw fence surrounding the injured running back Tyree Robinson has scored two touchdowns in last week's game against the Colts injured on the previous play yeah it's a significant lower leg injury and right now what we learned down here while we've been here this weekend with the Saints is there's a different vibe in this locker room these guys are tight they're close Sean Payton talked about it a lot of this team coming together and you can see a great example of that right there and the emotion on some of these Saints players faces knowing that they've lost khiry Robinson for the season you see Zach Strief right there drew Brees earlier that there is something different you know you hear it and sometimes you know you wonder if it's true or you're trying to put a positive spin on some momentum you've created I think it's legitimate here with the New Orleans Saints and I think this is a great example I mean these guys have built some bonds they are tight and you have to have that I mean for them to be able to turn this season around you know from that start and get to this point right here and playing the way they're playing here this afternoon a lot of that has to do with the bonds the respect the feelings that they have for each other beyond being a teammate alright 80 yards in under two minutes a minute 44 seconds and as we mentioned they will get the ball back to start the second half what was we've seen a couple of instances of really good management by the coaches we saw the Saints with Sean Payton and his staff you know hustle up get that snap before the challenge could come out probably was going to stay anyways and then after all that confusion the first play out of that he's a flea-flicker for the touchdown so a really nice sequence there by the Saints early on and then right there I mean the Saints have just been up and down this field all afternoon long the Giants defense can't stop them you know you get those timeouts you if you put one in your pocket for your office just in case they need it you get the opportunity Eli Manning takes his team all the way down the field gets to touchdown but if you've never had to use the timeout that they had I'm always impressed by the poison composure of the quarterbacks the NFL level in those situations because I might call the timeout call the timeout what he do it when we spoke to Tom Coughlin about Eli Manning yesterday he said beginning with the Buffalo game we were there he said the way Eli has wanting the game directing traffic changing tempo changing protections it's been terrific he said a lot of the things that Eli does does not show up at the box score absolutely and that's the conversation right there with coach Ben McAdoo getting used to this system this is only a year - he says he's much more comfortable in it but just as an example last week and that Dallas game you up CJ spiller for a loss of two that's got to start with the guys up front they struggle to get to the quarterback all season long they only had nine sacks coming into the game today the second least only behind Atlanta this year and they've got to start doing something they've got to shut down this run game they've got to make Drew Brees uncomfortable in that pocket the way that they did to Eli opportunity to catch their breath candy Vaquero looks like the Saints player who's down the field still now he's chomping at the bit to get back out so long as he's been on the sidelines all game Saints defender as he's coming down the ball goes over his head right to Dwayne Harris how you break contained okay somebody worked he's waiting for somebody to work their way out to the right he games due to a concussion but Damian Swan is actually the player who leaps up just missed times that jump and gets undercut by his own player and you can see all the way down and we talked about helmet to helmet we talked about these these knees to the helmet elbows to the helmet that are part of the game and say the one area that they're the concussions are still a big issue is helmet to ground helmet to ground these these players they elevate the the big bodies driving people into the ground it's it's still that area that the NFL struggled with the gets to get some production in this
