all right everyone we have a bit of a situation there's a huge low pressure coming in from the Gulf of Alaska we really need to find a secure place to haul up and I think we have one right next to us we might even Beach the boat over there I'm just going to hop into the dinghy and have a look I'm just now going to go ashore and check the river we might go all the way there and beach beach the boat completely that way we can also do some adjustments on the propeller I need to try and adjust the propeller a little bit all right so there's some rocks here and that's obviously not good but the river bed here looks pretty even and I don't see any big rocks there there's no rocks here except for the ones that are here in the river itself so when the river is running here it of course carves out the soft stuff and leaves you know some rocks but this is off on the side so as long as we keep the boat in the middle keep it centered here then uh we we should be good I might already go and uh get our shorelines and set up one line from this Shore to the other Shore so that when we come in with the boat we can just grab it to keep the boat to make sure that we can keep the boat centered [Applause] for all right I have the shoreline a little bit over 300 ft of line or actually closer to 400 so I don't know 120 m whatever we're going to go and set it up over there the tidal difference in Alaska is usually around 4 to 5 m the plan obviously is to wait for the high tide before coming in with the big boat it's a bit hard to estimate how high the water will rise so so I just eyeball a spot that I hope we can reach before hitting the bottom with the river flowing out here hopefully the line will also be going out so that we can grab it easily directly from the big boat if that doesn't happen then uh one of us is going to hop in the dinghy and fetch the line and then you know we'll bring the line to the boat and then we can use the line to position ourselves let me show you how I set up the Shor lines I make a really big loop so that uh when we leave and when we have to untie the lines you can hopefully just come in here with the dingy and untie the line without leaving the dingy or at least you won't have to climb all the way up we only have two really long shorelines so I cannot set up the stern line yet because we would have to run over the line to get in okay the tide has come up just enough so now we go now we give it a try we have now be Beed Lumi a few times already but it still feels a bit surreal to voluntarily Drive ground it's not really a difficult process but with a bow that weighs around 16 tons there's not really that much room for big errors for foreign spee yep [Music] so we hit the bottom just as she reached the uh bow line with the boat hook so now we are like somewhat secure already but uh we still need the stern line yeah I'll give you the r just come to the turn so I'll give it to you so somewhere over there you might have to climb up a little bit to get to a good tree right this is the last line and then we will be all set all set up yeah it's like Christmas again the winter is back our biggest danger here is to be honest the trees wouldn't be nice to have a tree fall on the boat there are some trees here that have fallen down and tomorrow when we wake up we will be on firm ground [Music] if you want to display this exact scene on your own wall then hear me out I just released a limited edition print run that is only available until the end of August so let's do a quick cut and get a look at the special aluminum prints yep these are printed on an aluminum panel they are super high quality they don't need any framing and they come ready to hang on your wall if you're wondering why it looks a little bit different here now it's of course because the video footage um was shot a few weeks ago in April and then it always takes me some time to edit the videos and this time also I really scrambled to get the samples ordered for the photo prints and I tweaked the colors and so on so now the prints are ready for sale these are really high quality aluminum prints that are ready to hang on your wall they do not need any framing so let's take a look at the prints I really like these first two ones that you just saw in this scene uh this second one is going to fit in all kinds of strange spaces on walls because of the horizontal shape then we have a look out of lum's window in the winter and then these last two prints are actually from the previous video and I have to say I really like the last one as well because it's very hard to make a sunny scene look good in a photo but that one turned out really well and it looks really good on the aluminum these prints are available in various sizes and the shipping rates are really very reasonable I really worked hard to make the shipping rates as good as possible and if you order two or more prints then um the shipping is free to most countries in the world anyway I hope you check out the web page this is a great way also to support the project and um all of the video making and the video creation process and so on and uh I really like these Sprints myself I really like how the way that they came out to be and I already mentioned which ones are my favorite so now we're going to have a bit of um quiz tell me which one you think is s's favorite and in the next video I will have her present that one and out of those of you who replied correctly we'll have one Rand randomly picked out and then we'll send you a medium-sized print for free and if you already happen to order a print and you win then I will refund your order no matter what size print you [Music] ordered all right so this is as low as the water will go tonight and tomorrow the low tide will be much lower sitting in here pretty well we are a little bit healed to the starboard side but I don't think that really matters and uh we're also a little bit bow down but I think that's just the natural way that the boat sits so yeah pretty exciting it's only the second time that we are doing this but uh I think we just have to get used to it it still feels just so weird to have the boat sitting on [Music] ground oh the Big [Music] G okay so it actually did get windy it's way more windy in here than I thought it would be there's just like some really big gusts coming through every now and then you know it's wind still and then suddenly boom [Music] it definitely was a good idea to seek some cover from the storm but looking at all of these trees swaying wildly in the wind did make me a little bit nervous a tree falling onto the boat was actually a real Hazard that we did not take into account but uh it's something that we'll keep in mind for the next time luckily as quickly as the wind came it also died down and the next morning we woke up to a completely different kind of a world [Music] [Music] here under the Bol I just need to adjust the propeller a little bit I'm just adjusting this one screw two turns clockwise uh I first need to losen the lock screw there or the lock knot and uh that's because this is a Feathering propeller and that adjusts the angle of the blades and uh we want to have a little bit more pitch other than that the hull looks pretty good I mean we have some slime and so but we are going to haul out and uh do some maintenance in preparation for the Northwest Passage so we're not going to do much cleaning now just so we just clean the animals and uh that's it [Music] [Music] big CLI [Music] [Music] for [Music] okay this Lagoon here is actually also a potential Anchorage and the cool thing is that we can get to our Anchorage just by Crossing this small piece of land over there so let's go and uh carry the boards [Music] cross okay we have our premium snack served directly out of a trash bag ah it's so nice to sit on a very sharp Rock we have hot coffee we always have the same snacks which is not super amazing but what can we do we don't even have chocolate this time no we have nuts this time not even selfmade more no it's cheese deluxe [Laughter] oh it's bit difficult to eat yep look I am outside and I am drinking coffee now thousands of people are going to copy your idea with the crack girl and chamack I kind of actually thought that ble boarding is a bit boring and lame but it has actually quickly become one of our favorite ways to explore the anchorages that we visit you have much better visibility than when sitting down in a kayak or in a dinghy and you also see what's going on underwater and best of all your Bump doesn't get wet or cold unlike when you're sitting [Music] down a minut [Music] [Music] there's something great about staying in one place for a bit longer we spent around 10 days in here and really enjoyed watching the tides coming in and out and the snowfall turning into rain and back into snowfall [Music] and while paddle boarding is fun there's at least one activity that we consider to be even more [Music] fun [Music] fore fore spee [Music] clouds are coming in so we're are going to ski down we are just I don't know 100 m vertical shy off the top [Music] yeah I'm going to leave you with these skiing shots don't forget the print sale it only goes on until the end of August and then those prints will never ever be available again the link to the store is down below in the description and also somewhere here on the screen thank you for watching and see you all next time bye-bye
