Original Air Force One being restored in Bridgewater

around the valley in March of 2016 the very first Air Force one landed at dynamic aviation in Bridgewater the company purchased the plane in 2015 and restored it to fly from Arizona back to the valley the man behind the purchase is speaking this Sunday about future plans for that plane Monica Casey spoke with him about when it might be fully restored and flyable Monica members of dynamic aviation worked for almost 7,000 hours to get the plane out of Arizona and back to the valley but there's still plenty of work to be done this Sunday Carl Stoltzfus will be speaking to the Augusta County Historical Society about the progress so far it was probably one of the most amazing days of my life when the original Air Force one arrived in Bridgewater in March of 2016 the airplane had not had any serious maintenance for 48 years the time in Arizona was both a blessing and a curse by being in the desert it didn't the aluminum did not corrode but their Steel did rust rescued it from oblivion and are restoring it and bringing its history back to life Eisenhower's plane has national importance Queen Elizabeth flew on the airplane the premier of France flew on at the Shah of Iran John Foster Dulles and significance here in the valley he spent a day here in the Shenandoah Valley in Augusta County his mother Ida Stover was born in Augusta County and lived her teen through 13 years here Carl Stoltzfus wants to use the airplane to teach about the 1950s pretty good years in America and so we feel like the airplane could be used very successfully to teach young people about that era of American history he hopes the plane will be ready for the public to see in three years it's a piece of American history that needs to be preserved and needs to be preserved properly the meeting will be in the Board of Supervisors room at the Augusta County Government Center at 3 o'clock no pre-registration is required for the event and it's open to everyone all right there you go oh how cool would it be to be working on something like that and think about all that you know the world leaders it's carried and they're also 48 years which means they had a lot to catch up on yeah absolutely so this part still exists I guess we can ask this Depot on Amazon and two days later through prime yeah free surely Amazon Prime this like old Roe tiller or whatever the right the propeller propeller yeah my goodness
