[Music] we are talking today about daughters get pregnant by their fathers and have the babies we're going to hear one story of a family where three sisters had 13 children between them the father of all 13 of the children is their father and we're gonna meet a woman whose mother and stepfather used her as a surrogate at age 13 to have the baby her mom could never have she's the mother of two children by her stepfather my first guest had her first baby with her stepfather when she was 12 years old at age 13 he divorced her mother and married her by the time she was 18 she had four children by her stepfather meet Cathy Ashcroft and next meet Cathy's daughter Julie Julie's father is also her grandfather he molested her when she was 5 years old and we are talking today about a very serious subject perhaps if you have children watching you'd like to use your own discretion I have in the past 10 years of doing talk shows it's done a variety shows about family abuse and sexual abuse I have not in my career read a story like yours or like the stories of our other guests today so when you were what age did your father start he started at 10 started molesting me at 10 years old I told my mother I told a lady that was a friend of ours she was to take us around and they found that lady dead two days after she told my mother about it so little girls mind you know he used to say things like he he had superpowers and and he could destroy anybody without even touching themselves but we were you 10 when you first started having sex with your father not he was molesting me touching me and fondling me when did the actual sex begin I would say 11 mm-hmm 11 years old and at 11 years old you don't quite understand what's going on I knew that it was a right I would tell and he would continue to do it what'd your mother say when you told her she told him and confronted him with him and then he would beat me in front of her and say I was a little liar and I was just trying to ruin their marriage I was just trying to ruin things for them so your mother believed him sure because he actually did it in front of her you know I mean look at this she's just a little liar you know and and he would do it to win my mother's confidence in my mother's belief you know in here and when I was 12 and I was pregnant I had my first son he was arrested on the day that I gave birth to that son so at the time you're having sex with your father did you know that this would make children I didn't even think about that mm-hmm I didn't think about did you know where babies came from not really dude you didn't come back I was a little girl I had my dolls uh-huh you know I it's a different thing to sit there and think about sex you don't think about sex as a little girl so how did you find out you were pregnant and that pregnant laughs in school I was taken to the nurse's office and that nurse called my mother and how old were you then 12 you were 12 and the nurse called my mom and my mother and my stepfather came to the school and they took me to the doctor's office along with the nurse mhm and the doctor said my god she's pregnant and my stepfather starts slapping me and saying who is it who is it I mean whose is it yeah yeah the doctor says this is not gonna solve anything so he did that as a front right this is what's his whole power he would beat me to make me look like I was lying I wasn't telling the truth but who so you didn't say anything right I mean he's beating me find a doctor and a school nurse and my mom what's he gonna do to me after you two know so we left there and four days later he was arrested and on that day I gave birth to my first son so how so how pregnant were you I had the baby four days after they discovered I was pregnant I went through the whole school year of being pregnant one time at one time I did say I had butterflies and he slapped me for that and said don't ever say anything like that again mm-hmm and then when I when he was put in jail the day he was put so how did he get put in jail someone told the police the neighbors I think because when the police came to the house they came into our house and then they went out and he said he was gonna go call for another car and he just went across the street to her neighbor came back from that neighbor and just looked at my stepfather and said are you the guilty one and he said yes I am and they took him to jail and took us to jail so it took us with him to sign a statement against him and my mother really didn't know you know she was in turmoil you know your mother got him out of jail though she bailed him out with a help from one of my sisters why would your mother bail him out of jail if he confessed it it was his child I really don't understand that but I think it was more or less going along with the system I have to say right now I do not blame my mom a lot of people feel where was your mom we know it was wrong we know what she did was wrong but she isn't here to I mean we really can't say where her where her head was at we really can't unexplained what she was trying to do mm-hmm I think [ __ ] now that I'm older I think my mom went along with the system because the system went along with it this man got out of a 1 to 10 year sentence because he married me now if the system goes along with it my mom goes along let's get to the marrying part so you have the child right a baby was there and his lawyer said divorce my mom get her pregnant again go to Canada because if you have a lawyer said don't wash your mother right and get you pregnant again right because so after you had the child well she moved out of the house no no no no this is see this is a tweet the state let me stay there and knowing that your your step no he wasn't allowed to come back and by was there okay he was supposed to not come around me but he did at night he would come in they would come in the window he'd come in the back door I have sex with right and my sister who was about two years older than I was also had a baby 11 days after I did fire well he denied it they look like twins but he denied it and now that that boy's 26 years old of course that's my son yeah and that ripped my mother's heart that sound - yes grant he has children and he says that's his grandchildren I mean a man soafter okay your father comes back to the house after you had the child right and then your father married you but where did he marry you he took Canada we went to Canada and I had to go I remember going into a doctor's office and the doctor examined me and agreed that I was pregnant and then we just went to I guess it was a justice of the peace so the lawyer told him to get out of it this time right marry her right and you were how old at that time thirteen then after that after I was married to him I caught him in bed with my 14 year old niece and I got the scar on my eye yet where he beat me and I mean I caught him in bed with in your room you had four children by your right technically genetically biologically he isn't your natural phenomena father and you you came you came to live with him when you were how old he came to live with us as a boarder when I first met him I was probably seven years old so was he like a father to you oh he was a nice guy in the beginning he was nice we were very poor and we didn't had that much and he would buy us the soda and ice cream and treat us good new clothes so Julie is what which child the fourth just the third to the third child and this is this is your stepfather we're looking at her yes right that's how that's him this is your father and your grandfather so you finally got out of this relationship with your father husband because after having Julie did you find him molesting Julie I suspected it I really suspected it because I used to open mouth kiss her and daddy was everything and he used to find excuses to take the children and leave me home he used to open mouth kiss her in front oh yes oh yes and I used to check her all the time to make sure nothing was wrong but in the long the long run we found out he was molesting her after the same school nurse takes her to the doctor calls me say we have to take her to a gynecologist who confirmed she has a severe infection which was caused by sodomy I mean this is his baby he was doing it that the doctor said to cover up because it would have been more noticeable and so do you remember the the sexual activity is with your father I remember at least five I remember the pain I remember the pain and I remember he ejaculated in my mouth and laughed when you were a baby this is very hard to talk about and when we come back we'll meet a mother [Music] so we're talking today about something that is very difficult to talk about particularly if you have experienced it in one form or another we're talking to women who have had children by their fathers and Julie is the product of such a relationship and her father is also our grandfather so you were telling me during the break that you confronted him yes I'm several years ago couple years ago he was up for my brother's wedding and we set out in the car we had gone somewhere and we were sitting out in the car and I told him I said listen get I I was doing it for myself I I thought it would make me feel better okay because I went through a stage of my life where I thought I was a lesbian I didn't you know and I told him and he sat there in tears come to his eyes whether they were real or not I'm not sure because I told him you know what I'd remembered and I told him and I've gone through in my life because of it and he apologized and he said it was because my mother neglected him and I told him that that was a lie mm-hm and I said because I remember two other little girls that he was messing with at the time and I remember the feeling of jealousy so this is a you were jealous of the other little girls yes because what my father did to me I didn't know it was wrong I just thought it was love okay I wasn't you know I mean I didn't know it was wrong until I got older and and it started I had a little bit of counseling you know and and when the police were there and when I was telling people you know and he that's when I found out it was wrong and but I confronted him and he cried have you ever confronted him oh yes yes what what is puzzling is what kind of relationship did you have with this man who was originally your father and then your husband at thirteen years old where you were you then taken out of school did yeah you were a wife to him and took care of him and I was a wife and everybody accepted that I was his wife and so what to your mother my mother used to go visitor because we said move back and forth from New York to Maine all the time and your mother condoned all of this yeah well he was my husband he what he used to be hers but he used to be her husband right but now he was my husband and it was 26 years ago Oprah when you have a child who has another child you're also you have you have a daughter with illegitimate child at the age of 16 it's bad at the age of 13 it's worse and the system I don't know how I ever why who was ever I was ever chosen to be the one dad this happened to it but it happened and I'm not alone out there I mean there's a lot of girls that this happens a lot and these men are still doing it and there's a lot of these men out where is your father husband grandfather father now Kingston New York the same time where he did it to me and he is walking around and yeah he sure is he wasn't he was caught by one of my niece's on top of another thirteen-year-old girl eight months ago kids with the bathroom on he had a bathrobe on and he was on top of her kissing her and so oh my why isn't he in jail my niece turned a man and you know what happened they talked to this girl and she denied him doing anything and the lady from the sheriff's department I called her I said well I want this this is my chance he's going to be locked up he's finally gonna get it and you know something they said this girl feels he's the best thing that's ever happened to her in her life she feels like she's got a festive that best friend she's ever had in her life in this man because he buys her things he treats her the same the same cycle right did they pick on people I don't have anything they they so you finally left him after you found out he was molesting Julie I didn't find out at that time I just I just left him I was tired of being beaten I was tired of the way he treated me and the children he didn't only beat me my three sons got beat severely well your son sexually molested by him - by him when my one son I don't want to say which one was only two years old he sodomized my he did other things to my sons when they got older this is these boys father I mean with all of the diseases and everything else that's in the world to think that this man ripped apart our lives and he's still out there and he's still able to rip apart more lives at age 13 my next guest had a baby girl at age 15 she had a baby boy her mother told her it was okay to have sex with her stepfather so she could have the children for the family because her mother wasn't able to get pregnant she says that she put her kids in foster care because she sees her sees him in her children and sometimes feels like she doesn't love them so meet phae-phae your children are how long they're the children you had by your father it's my daughter will be 10 next month my son is 8 and you've put them in foster care because because I see them a lot of times and their father I they have a lot of behavior problems you weren't able to do what kathy has done and that is keep the children and love the children because the pain of being sexually molested by your stepfather is too much for you yes basically do you hear your story and Kathy story does it sound familiar to you a lot of it you know she it was hers and his idea that I get pregnant at what age did your mother come to you and tell you this I was 12 and that's when Steve came to me and said me and your mother has decided that you're gonna have our child and so you would have sex with him regularly and your mother knew about it well he we left for Alaska we were living in California at the time he took me to Alaska took us a month and where was your mother she stayed in California to wrap things up and she was gonna meet us in Alaska uh-huh and so after you had the children was your mother than responsible or were you responsible for the children after I had Stephanie she more or less took care of her I tried but you know I was so young that I it was kind of like a baby doll to me mm-hmm but after the age ii ii was two months then I was on my own because Steve didn't want her in the house anymore how old were you then thirteen and so what did your mother say to you she always accused me I've taken her husband away from her but originally she wanted you to have the children who wanted you to be with her husband right she said she did it because she loved him so much where's your mother now she lives in Ohio and your father husband he's he's in Alaska he's in jail do you have any kind of relationship with your mother no no relationship with your children well we get them every weekend and because you've drawn another life yeah we try it with each other but it's just hard because there's a wall up there between both of us so I didn't know how to love them I didn't know how three children by her father she says he created a prison she had no friends no contact with other boys but her loyalty to stay with her mother and sisters was greater than his evil she says that if she ever sees him again she will kill him her older sister Myra has five children by her father she says that if you fought him he would knock her unconscious she says she feels sadness and pity for her father who is now serving a 10-year jail sentence he's been locked up since October of last year so your father was a Baptist minister is that not true so in the community everybody thought of you all is upstanding citizens in the community that's true you both were honor students yes one of you was one of you and who's who among you were at something Chandra who's who among American high school students so from the outside it looked like the perfect family and mr. Elliott was doing an incredible job of raising all of these children correct yes now how old were when you started having sex with him 13 years old 13 years old mhm and if there are three sisters in the house all around the same age everybody's having children did you think when you were having sex with your father that you were the only sister when did you find out that the other sisters were two at first because we never talked about it at first mm-hmm I mean it was just it it was something you didn't want to tell anybody did your mother know not at first I didn't tell anyone so when did you tell somebody I really don't remember exactly when I told the first person but uh after a while I really started to hate it and I went out of it and I slowly started telling people and what kind of people family friends no school friends what this wasn't until after I started working mm-hmm and I've already had a child by that time yes I had my first child three months before I started my job so when you had the child who do you tell who's the father of the child your mother had to know then Oprah I didn't start talking about my problem with anybody until I got pregnant and I just turned 18 and I had my first time and I started to talk to my mom and your mom said she was very upset she felt very betrayed I was angry at her I was angry at him I was angry with myself mm-hmm I bet you had already had a child no no I was the very first you ever have children by my dad okay later to learn he was my stepdad but that still didn't make me feel any better about the situation so when you were having sex with him you didn't know that he was not reply illogical father because he this is the only father you all have ever known right I didn't learn that he was actually my biological father until I was not not yeah until until the second time we went to August the 28th of last year so this has been dad to you right yeah protector and provider right and I understand in this family because your other sister didn't he had told her she was going to be here and your mother and father she was gonna be here and then decided against it that there are a lot of mixed emotions in the family because this is the only father he's known and there is a lot of used to love him the situation gets very calm I wouldn't say that yeah I got the love I don't hate him you don't hate it I don't hate him you did yes I hate him for what he did and maybe I wouldn't hate him as much if he had a reason for doing what he did but he doesn't he does not have a reason for it you know maybe if he was on drugs or he had a drinking problem so all this sex is going on in the house and nobody knows about it well I feel like anybody does I mean when when it was happening today's everybody have separate bedrooms there and so he come to your bedroom at night and it's like you know what's going on with you so when the situation presents itself then you wonder about the rest of but you don't definitely know okay so we we understand in the same case with Kathy you understand how it happens one time but you have five children by so doing during this during this time was everybody still living in the same house I've always lived at home I left home for the very first time in December of last year and so what does your mother say when the second child comes my mother was she didn't really say anything because she also was under a lot of pressure because he constantly threatened her to kill her us and she never had a job before and that stability I guess is what really will you all got marched off the church over Sunday and going to church and not every Sunday but almost every Sunday mm-hmm so who did the rest of the community who did they think that all these children no one ever no one ever questioned it at all I mean you know it was like what about the church no they just thought that the Elliot girls are head girls well girls we we were always responsible I mean you know we always worked on our own took care of our own so it wasn't like we were I just we're dealing on everybody yeah I mean you know everybody had the idea that we were just decent respectable people like everybody else we just were choosing not to marry I didn't have a lot of children having a lot of children yeah 13 children 13 one house 18 if you include all that all the children by your mother too when we come back we'll talk to their father Louis Elliot's from his jail [Music] so we're talking today two daughters who have had children by their fathers we were in our last segment talking with Chandra and Myra who were straight-a students honor students who's who among American high school students their father was a Baptist minister in a southern town and the three daughters in the family one who is not with us today had 13 children among them all by their father Louis Elliot who is now in jail mr. Elliott do you understand that you're a slime wait a minute [Applause] respect to you Reverend you're a liar you're a liar and you're a slime you a little me read nothing that's why I didn't want to get on the show Bacall what you don't you ain't listen to me I'm listening to what you're saying but what you're saying what you're doing now is nothing to take them but then they are lied to you but they 27 here though they knew what they were doing they kept coming back from oh the whole family to do about this okay just put it off for me okay I understand that I understand that but they know about Negron women they know about this she wrote love letters here to me in this jails they're not being in here oh yes they love the humorous boat to write but she did ask you this let me I just got caught in that be proud of you me for a skate go get out of oh no use you as a scapegoat right let me ask you this though let me ask you this 26:20 right I got a guy here named for a moment you be quiet for a minute let me ask you this what you want at me - okay let me ask you and I'll let you answer okay when you started having sex with them when they were 13 and for 2013 it was older that they lied to you my plan would no this is my oh no wait a minute okay [Music] so I want to give you all a chance to respond as I said to your father too many times in this country when this happens a lot of people who are sick demented molesters are allowed to continue to do it and rationalize doing it because they believe that the children wanted it or at least that is what they tell themselves he does pose a good question however because people throughout this country who are watching you want to know how it could continue through your 20s you're 27 years old and one of you just had had a child about eight months ago is that not true three months three months ago three months ago three months this has been going on for the past 18 years all my life all your life and three months ago you had you did my idea your last child by your father yes and it's a very complex thing I mean you think of your children your sisters your brother's your mom the consequences of what could happen if you rock the boat say for instance so were you in love with your father Myra I think in my early teens that was very true were you allowed to date other boys no were you allowed to go to the prom bring friends home No and so then that's what makes that's what makes you get suspicious as to something being wrong yeah really so this was the only man you were allowed contact with correct yes but then I started to read the Bible mm-hmm Leviticus chapter 18 tells you definitely this is wrong what I do is wrong and then you did you not know it was wrong before not really but I mean cuz that's all I've known all my life I mean it's you you grow up trusting your mom and your dad to teach you what's right to learn you about life and people I plant trust your parents who can you true so do you remember being placed in the bed with your father and your mother and all of you having sex together I do and I wish to God lugia we'll be right back [Music] so dr.
