Open PDF with Live Text of Missing Font & Keep as Vector Outlines in Adobe Illustrator

hello and welcome to my channel in this video I want to go through a scenario in Adobe Illustrator where I've been provided a file with live text that I don't have that font on my computer but I need to edit the artwork and maintain the vector pieces without disrupting the text so for instance I've been provided a label that I need to mock up and it has a white background and I could easily remove the background and illustrator and keep the text high quality so for instance here's a PDF with live text that I want to open in illustrator and you'll see that when I open it in illustrator that it's very apparent I'm missing those two fonts so I don't need to edit the actual content of the text but I do want the text to be scalable so let's open up a new document and this time we're going to go to file place and this happens to be a two-page PDF so I want to make sure when I'm placing that it's checked to show import options and so now we have the artwork but we can't select the text yet so let's go to object flatten transparency turn on preview and here's where you need to make sure it's checked to convert all text to outlines and there may be times that you need to preserve transparency or spot Colors Let's go with this and now you'll see I can click into this group or clip group and now I can select that text as Vector so that's an example of how you can open a file with live text and keep the text formatted even if you don't have that font on your computer I hope this video helped with your project if it did please like the video and subscribe for more content like this thanks for watching and see you next time take care
