foreign [Music] welcome back to my kitchen we are gonna do this delicious ooey gooey butter cake now although I don't consider it a box cake mix hack you know we are going to use a box cake mix today there are several variations of this ooey gooey butter cake or Ooey butter cake cake whatever you want to call it but I'm gonna do what's more the classic recipe y'all it is so good I thoroughly enjoyed this this recipe my husband my dude number one I don't think he's ever had ooey gooey butter cake I don't think so um it may be a little too rich for him but we're gonna see and I'm also his little area that he's gonna taste I'm gonna add him some pecans so maybe that'll help okay so this is what we're gonna use today we have this I'm gonna use the classic yellow box cake mix of course you guys know I love Duncan Hines though that so that's what I'll be using uh you can use a white cake mix if you choose you can use another brand whatever you like okay so one box of the yellow cake mix I have oh girl don't knock over this bottle you have melted listen okay one large egg now the ingredients I'm giving you first they're for the base of the ooey gooey cake okay one large egg uh one stick of melted butter we'll have to use two sticks in all but one is just for this first part of the base and then after that for the custard part we're having we're going to use one eight ounce block of cream cheese and you guys these ingredients are room temperature because it's just what I'm used to doing okay so it's room temperature my eggs are room temperature one block of the cream cheese we have another stick of melted butter my butter is unsalted all right and then we need two eggs for the custard part two large eggs as you see I've already cracked them we have two cups of powdered sugar that we'll need and then let's see a tablespoon or more of vanilla and you guys I'm gonna use some vanilla and I'm gonna use some cream bouquet just because I want to totally not necessary but I want some cream bouquet in my base part and probably in the custard as well again totally not necessary and then I have my chopped pecans here pecans pecans whatever you like I'm going to add just a little bit four fine dude number one just because he likes pecans okay now we're gonna bake this at 350 degrees my oven is preheated and probably Gonna Bake for about 40 minutes you do not want to over bake this okay because it's supposed to be a little gooey so you want the center of it just a little Jiggly when you take it out okay because it's going to firm up a little bit more after you leave it out and it sits okie dokie okay of course I have thoroughly washed my hands y'all don't be in the kitchen with nasty hands because that is just nasty I'm using this nine by 13 inch uh parrots dish and I'm just taking these rather than spraying it with Baker's Joy these are my butter wrappers yeah I'm trying to get all my butter honey these are my wrappers I took the butter out of and this is what I'm just going to coat my casserole dish with me hopefully that'll be okay um y'all know my last video my uh hand mixer did not want me to be great so I set up right I sat right up in my bed and ordered me another one off of walmart.com is it pretty y'all because it's green so this little Black and Decker hand mixer I ordered from walmart.com I will put the link in the description box below they have so many cute colors um but y'all know I had to snag this green one okay and I think that it may not be too loud it may not be too loud so I might be able to mix and talk to you all at the same time so we will see okay we're gonna start with Daryl oh our bag on our cake mix first and we're going to add that to the Bowl and then we're going to I'm gonna add just a little bit of vanilla just because I want to okay I just want to y'all like I said this isn't necessary I just want I want some flavor all the way through honey just a little bit then we have our one stick of melted butter and then we have our one large egg break that yolk up a little bit okay okay now we're just gonna get this mixed up a bit I don't think that's too loud and you guys this is gonna be a little thick and that's exactly how it's supposed to be God I'm gonna like this mixture that's not loud another thing too I um in addition to the color I like the fact that the Beaters um has this I guess like a silicone over the beaters so when I am using it making a whole lot of clinking up against the side of my bowl so I love it you guys let me know what you think I don't think it's too loud but if it is too loud then you all let me know and I'll just have to go back to um adjusting my volume and not talking while I'm mixing with the hand mixing okay I'm just trying to swing on with it mix off the beer okay okay foreign take our casserole dish [Music] and we just want to get it spread out all over the casserole and then wanted to we want it to come up the sides to just a little bit [Music] and I like to take my finger and just kind of go along the edge like that and then you know you can go back and just kind of push the sides down a little bit so it won't be you don't want it up too far on the sides but I just think that helps it look neater okay then you kind of make sure that the custard that we're gonna add gets all the way to the edge okay okie dokie now for our custard okay so we're gonna zip it and sit to the side we're coming back with this same Bowl you guys the same Bowl we're not rinsing it out we're not washing it we're not doing any of that okay so let's see we're going to start with our cream cheese let me get my ingredients a little closer to me all right so we're going to start with our cream cheese and I'm going to mix this up just a few minutes by itself well maybe not by itself let me go in and add my little cream bouquet and my vanilla and y'all I realized I had my Baker's Joy sitting out because I thought I was originally I was going to use it but then after I saw the little butter residue that was left oh my little butter wrappers I said you know what I'm just gonna butter the dish all right we're gonna mix this up just a few minutes by itself not a few minutes a few seconds shall I say butter foreign [Music] foreign go everywhere foreign foreign casserole dish oh and just spread it out as evenly as you can get it pushed in the corners good see they are almost forgot to add my dudes pecans I almost forgot foreign because like I said this may be a little too rich for him and I'll be gonna put all these little pecans in here he doesn't want it okay foreign [Music] [Music] as even as we can run away pecans I just put it right there in that little that little end all right again 300 and 50 degrees about 40 minutes but I'm gonna check it about 35 because again you do not want it to over bake that middle needs to have just a little bit of jiggle to it okay but I'll let you know exactly how long I baked it um when we come back but of course oven temperature's vary so it just depends on your way all right guys we have cooked 40 minutes okay so now we have to sit here and totally cool but is that not pretty girl don't tell this too much it's custom beating hit the floor right okay but y'all that's pretty okay we have to totally cool I guess we don't do number one and um then we'll be ready to taste it foreign is Papa coming yeah okay go tell him to come on tell him say papa papa say come on yeah what you got come this way baby what you doing today oh that's what you're saying blue oh he's saying balloons something I'm trying to figure out the best way um [Music] you guys die yeah you want to see you want to see the guys want to see guys messy kid that has pecans in it pecans it's probably no I don't want him to eat butt pecans because it's probably too I said hey everybody hey everybody hey everybody look you guys see what I put pecans on your side I tell you what it is in a minute are you looking are you frying don't be back there frowning now listening I'm gonna tell you in a minute okay y'all okay let me taste I said and I told y'all he's he's probably never had any of this so I didn't know I don't know how he gonna be back there making all the faces it tastes kind of like a cookie okay it's kind of like um I'll get some cookie in it let's check out it's got a bunch of taste in it um it's almost like a game my mind's saying like um a papa and another one no I'm saying my mind said because if it may look like a I thought it was a pawpaw MossMan ooey gooey butter cake so y'all the bottom of it does I've never even know who would do anything I didn't think you had so how am I supposed the bottom of it a cookie kind of reminds me of a cookie Tony's gonna love this because this is one of the things he wanted me to make so you have to take a lot of the stem tomorrow that's good and then the bottom of it is oh I didn't put it in there this time because it's not like we're doing okay it's the yellow uh cake mix at the bottom the yellow cake mix at the bottom so it's something different I wanted to add the pecans to yours because like a cookie in the cake and but for some reason I'm thinking about good y'all micro um eat casserole or something like an egg I don't know it does have like a custard right like it doesn't matter if it is custard exactly that's the point I'm making it looks like that's good all right y'all well I hope you guys enjoyed this video is it good basic too rich for you I don't know whether or not it would be too rich for you
