OODNADATTA TRACK TO COOBER PEDY WITH A CARAVAN! - Corrugated roads with a hot spring and outback pub

g'day guys and welcome to another episode this is actually our first episode since we've been traveling australia full time so we're super keen to take you along we're already about to start the earning data track we're just about to hit hit dirt for the first time i got a couple a couple of friends would say from top end tourists with their patrol and lotus caravan going to be heading up we're on our way up to the fink desert race so get a bit bored of the bitchman so we're going to hit uh hit the old in the data track heard a lot about it obviously never done it ourselves so i've got the caravans in tow got the motorbike trailer as well so uh taking all the toys along going to stop alongs a few sort of uh railway ruins and stuff like that uh we're just about to air down and we're going to get into it so let's do it [Music] all righty earn a data track we're into it we head down to 25 psi all around so the car and the caravan um that's sort of our go-to uh sort of pressure for uh for our setup you know we are that touch heavier we do run the mud tires so you need to go a couple of psi lower but hey i think it's a good starting point especially when you're carrying if you don't want to be um you know pulling out brake and stuff so it's uh it's the number one thing you need to do on tracks like this it's not also it's not just the corrugations it's more um the rocks as well that you really need to have them as uh air pressures down gonna be stopping at a couple of ruins uh or railway lines there's a bit of historic stuff along the track so and hopefully find an um nice campsite i'm not sure not too sure where that's going to be tonight but um yeah excited to see some um some awesome outback roads got our first little stop we're only maybe 20 30 k's in it's called wang yana ruins or something um not quite sure the history of there's a lot of um a lot of graffiti in here um the best way to sort of the way we're finding this stuff is um on wiki camps wiki camps has got all the little bits and pieces along the way um because honestly you know there's nothing too crazy and interesting out here on there in the data track so you want to stop in um all these little ones while you can but highly recommend wiki camps um to find where they are let's have a bit of a look through a couple just rolled in on their on their mountain bikes they've just um apparently left a month ago they've just ridden uh road the birdsville track and now they're riding the uh in a data track on their mountain bikes with a little trail and so heap of water solar a little setup going along with them massive headwind today so we're struggling up and the guards are bloody using fuel in the headwind but these four guys but good on and they's just awesome just because they just love wanting to get out and you know see the country a little bit slower as they're doing on their mountain bikes how cool is that [Music] hello foreign [Music] foreign [Music] oh i'm [Music] found a bit of water sounds a bit odd trying to get out of the wind here we had seen uh seeing water out here um a little bit here it's meant to be called a bit of artistic in spring but it's sort of a bit of water coming through the rocks there but you know nothing too crazy but just just back before there we drove our little bridge there had some running water through which is um pretty rare and pretty cool to see out here we just pulled up for a look at a part of the old gun railway so there's heaps of these along the track so we just pulled up for a look pretty cool to see up nice and close [Music] all right well you're nice and air down what what pressures you're running in the tires no uh 23 actually yeah yeah there's no excuse for that yeah it doesn't have a lot of weight yeah that's corrugations for you all righty a good couple hours in now and um i'm really enjoying it like i won't be i won't lie i was actually kind of expecting it to be sort of you know we love just being in the open roads if there's nothing anyway but you know to me not that sort of interesting but so far every sort of 10 10 15 k's there's been um being something that's something to stop over and have a look at which is um which is really good the road's been awesome um you know a few corrugations and that but um you know nathan's towing a bloody motorbike trail down here so if you weren't too sure about bringing you know if you've got a semi off road or even um you know be careful about you know a full-on road caravan let your tires down we just cruise along at sort of 70 k's an hour um average and sort of 75k is most um and it's been good so nathan just had a little issue with his um driving lightsaber sort of heard something right along um both the brackets snapped on his on his lights so he was nice and haired down so there was no no issues there um but look like that's you know that's when it's gonna you're gonna tell your you know yeah nothing against the king slides like they are absolutely amazing um they put out some awesome light but you know when you get out to tracks like this um you that's when you're sort of going to tell the difference between that cheaper gear you pay for and the more expensive stuff when you're out on this sort of terrain all right we're just pulling up in the lake yes this is obviously the first time we've um we've seen it before so i think it's dry it's hard but sort of looking along there and um that sort of salt lake look where it looks like it's got water but you can't tell but i'm pretty sure it is dry um but yeah let's um let's get the drone up and have a bit of a look really excited to check this out [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh this one's a little bit um a little bit eerie in here it's like a freaking old prison or something oh just um yeah nah i would not want to spend a night i wouldn't want to spend it on this one it's an old railway or railway station i used to do a thing or a nice fireplace yeah not for me [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] my [Music] how's your van time along there danny yeah is this for is this sort of the first time you've been out on this sort of long corridor dirt roads on that thing uh for this long year um [Laughter] you know this is not too bad it's like really big rocks on it right yeah copy yeah you're going now for the motorbike trailer [Music] good old leaf spring live eh all right bit over halfway across the track we've come across coward springs what a way to wash off the wash off the bit of bull dust for the end of the day uh two bucks you can come in have a bit of a dip it's nice and warm a bit of a museum to check out uh you can sort of camp as well it's like 12 or 15 bucks um nice camp sites of um a bit of a fireplace now to have a bit of a campfire so it's um we're not camping in tonight we're going to uh keep pushing on on for the day into this uh massive headwind but for now again i might have actually might say actually definitely check this out on your way coward springs camping ground what a freaking awesome place i did not expect everybody to go on for a swim today so especially out in here that was an awesome place to cool off after a dusty day out in the out awesome camping area uh we're pushing on the williams creek um because we're killing for apartment he really wanted to um really wanted to go to the pub while we're um while we're out here and we're going to push on and just find somewhere on the side of the road pretty much but definitely put that on your list it's probably we're probably over halfway um between here we're heading to cooper pd um so you know definitely put that in your books for if you're going to do a decent day coward springs would be an awesome place to pull up for the night [Music] all right we're absolutely killing for a nice warm feed we've pulled up at the william creek hotel after a massive massive day today has been absolutely awesome it's um it's risen above my expectations the united track has been absolutely awesome gonna go in nice warm feed for the night i'm gonna park up somewhere a lot of fire i only got a couple under caves about 170 k's to go to kupiti tomorrow so we'll see what that's got to offer but so far this has been absolutely unreal [Music] so what an absolute awesome sunrise to wake up to we're just talking about a bit of fuel in the car we were talking about 50 we always carry out 50 liters of fuel just to get out that gets about 200k still on the caravan so william craig's got has petrol and diesel but 2.10 so you know that's what they're going to do they're the only sort of fuel um you know out this far so that's all good but we're going to use this um qp is only 166 k's away so that'll get through to the uh through to there if you are going to fill up along the track um marie i think it was called um their fuel was a lot cheaper so i'll definitely top up the tanks there but um yeah a bit of juice bitter just blowing a bit of dust off some stuff and checking a few wheel nuts and all those little bits and pieces and then back into it [Music] [Music] all righty so we're back into it we've taken a left turn onto williams creek road towards cooper pd so you're gonna turn left the way we're going or keep going along the data track uh to unidata itself i know there's sort of that bit of famous pub and all that there which would have been absolutely awesome to see uh but we're gonna head left because we're heading up to alice springs we want to go to cooper pd have a bit of a look around there uh get some supplies and then keep uh keep trucking up the highway from there it's pretty rough after bloody willie was breakdown oh look at that all right made in the cooper pd was about to um yeah the tyres back up unfortunately it's been so good cruising along the dirt roads for so long um it wasn't too much to see along williams creek road a lot of the sort of good stuff is um just sort of along there in data track but in saying that still and some awesome drives um the track was in pretty good nick so um it's crazy how much the train changes once again to cooper pedia this is obviously our first time here and so rocky in all the mines now it's pretty cool so i'm just going to air up and head into town a bit of a look around alrighty so just filling up some water at a coin operated station so about one dollar gets you about 30 liters so we'll chuck a couple of dollars in gonna empty out the toilet fill up some fuel and wash the car to everything that we need right in the one spot which is awesome oh alright foreign all right well there you have it the south of unidata track up to cooper pd and what an awesome drive it was been here in qvpd been in the underground underground mines the went to the uh the bar had to look a bit opal and that um we've seen the photos and videos ourselves for being here and just experiencing it being underground in that is absolutely awesome highly highly recommend the drive um there's nothing too crazy um again good set of all-terrain tires is a must uh the guys took their leaf sprung motorbike trail through so you know that's a good sign if you're wondering if you could take your caravan or camper trail through no drums at all obviously the conditions uh vary all the time but 25 psi around 70 80 k's now tops um and happy days so we're gonna go find a campsite uh out of town we're gonna keep pushing up to the pink desert race um hopefully we'll see around there if not we'll see on the tracks we just pulled up for a look at a part of the old garn railway what'd i say is that good yeah we're just filling up some water at a coin operated what is it um it wasn't too much along with um what's the right call william creek i expect to be um going for a swim today so two bucks to get oh just turned 30 not body 13.
