One Piece Chapter 1081 Review "Cold Shoulder"

yeah didn't see that coming did you yeah yeah that's like Oda with these chapters man he just comes in boom right hook to the face blown away and then he Retreats backs up takes a break week you know and the next thing you know next one piece chapter is just bam left hook right to the face and you're reeling and you're like whoa and you try to fight back but you can you you back up again he's like all right we're taking another break another break week okay all right ready for one more oh yeah I'm not gonna release another Banger chapter right it's not gonna be another bam two punches in the face I don't even know if that's legal in boxing if you could just run up to somebody and just bam punch somebody twice in the face but that's what oda's doing man that's what oda's doing with these chapters okay oh man we got Shanks doing stuff we got GARP doing stuff in this chapter we continue to see GARP do stuff GARP was too epic he has to have two chapters focusing on his stuff the aokiji does stuff too kuzan's in this as well but GARP is still the headliner ladies and gentlemen all right so this will be one piece chapter 1081 review titled captain of the 10th ship of the Blackbeard Pirates koozon and uh this is actually kind of unique for One Piece there's actually an alternate title for this chapter Oda doesn't always release these alternate title something everybody figured out several chapters ago okay because you know it was pretty obvious I mean maybe at the beginning when we didn't really know much about Blackbeard's crew it's like ooh who's the mysterious 10th Titanic captain but last couple of chapters considering we've seen kuzan in the background more Consulting with Blackbeard directly um because also keep in mind like the first time we learned that kuzan was working for Blackbeard I think it was when Akainu was meeting with the Goro say and uh you know the goros say we're like we heard that kuzan is working with Blackbeard you should do something about that and a kind of is just like yeah that idiot left the Marines let him do what he wants you know what I mean it's not my responsibility any anymore so we didn't really know it was kind of up in the air like is kuzan working with Blackbeard is it just a cover operation is he a member of Sword is he doing something else is he secretly working with the kainu that'd be a Twist well the answer to the question of how they met and and how Blackbeard you know convinced aokichi to join I shouldn't even use air quotes because yeah how Blackbeard convinced kuzan to join his crew we're gonna see that in this chapter it's pretty interesting um so we get the cover page uh it's just the color spread this week no like fan art or anything although it's a really interesting spread with the men of the straw hat crew so Nami and Robin are unfortunately not in this cover spread um just the men of the straw hats all hanging out and taking a nap with a bunch of squirrels just uh there all sleeping except for Sanji who's awake reading a cookbook so that's nice all right so continuing on where we left off last chapter with GARP Bringing Down the fist Galaxy packed boom and uh we get a different perspective of it now it actually doesn't look as like impressive as it did last chapter to be honest with you last time when we saw that shock wave it looked like he decimated the entire town so we zoom out a little bit to see um Hachi nosu now Hachi no Sue we've we've seen it before it like a like a establishing shots and things but we're now getting to see it in its full View and think of it more of like the mountain is up here and the entire Island kind of slopes up slowly with the uh the town okay the town is all made out of rock and like the actual stone of the island okay so you got like the rocky Port which I guess is on the perimeter and then you have like this Hillside that slowly goes up and up until it reaches the skull mountain okay so GARP brought down that that Fist and it like leveled you know a good chunk of the Town not the entire town though okay it's uh it's pretty rough and we see all of the different Pirates getting blasted away by this thing I am still convinced and like like GARP lands like boom like like ground zero right where the attack went off and um there's like nobody there like in the immediate vicinity I am sure plenty of the Pirates were killed immediately upon receiving that Galaxy impact and we see a bunch of people get tossed around but I think that's where the people that were like within like you know the blast radius they weren't immediately like killed but like they were knocked back and like whoa It's like a scene in the war movie when like a shell hits and everything's dizzy and goes kind of sepia tone like whoa whoa you know it's it's kind of like that right so GARP is there his fist is Armament hockeyed up it's like sparking um all of the Pirates are like oh God it's over he's gonna just gonna kill us all you know and um we also have GARP ship which got sent flying out of the ocean in the last chapter still we have no idea how that worked um it's very likely that Garb could have pulled like a mercenary towel from uh from Dragon Ball where Tau like picked up that pillar through it and then jumped on the pillar and like traveled on it so GARP could have done something like that too he's like all right everybody hold on a second he Dives under the water picks up his ship throws it jumps out of the water lands on the the bow of the ship and then like rears up for Galaxy impact you know could totally have done that so um GARP lands right in the center of that Courtyard area and also his ship is about to fall down on him but then Prince gruce walks up up and he uses clay ordination that's a cool name so he summons just just a giant blob of clay to appear uh in the center of the courtyard and that's what the ship lands on so it's cool so it doesn't like immediately smash into splinters and everything um we see a bunch of people on the deck of garp's marine ship I was looking for Bogart could not find him so I really hope he's there somewhere Bogart please Oda I know Bogart hasn't showed up in like forever but back in the day man when GARP was around Bogart was always there as like his right hand man and he was the one that like trained Kobe and helmeppo at the beginning he was there and he's not in his Lobby he was their post and he's lobby at Water Seven when he met the straw hats so it's like dude I understand it's been a while and Bogart has been a relatively minor character in this story but please please have bogar do something cool before the series ends please Oda so we don't really see him but we see tashiki we see how mapo there's a lot of other Marines they were they weren't the only ones that showed up just like the the strike unit of Sword there's like regular marines that well I don't know if you're working for GARP on his personal ship I don't know if calling you like a regular Marine is really apt at that point all right you've been through the ringer in terms of training at that point all right even if it's just like you know like like Petty officers or like lower ranked Marines or whatever that are on this ship they're probably stronger than your average petty officer you know what I mean so tashiki's there and helmeppo's there those are the main characters that we know uh we haven't seen smokers so I don't know if he's here right now uh it would be rather interesting for tashigi to be there and smoke or not to be um but I'm thinking he might be because aokiji is very relevant in this chapter and aokiji and smoker do have kind of like a relationship like they're good friends so it would be cool to see him again anyway so um the Pirates are there and they're just like are you and so garp's there standing in midst just this absolute destruction and he's like all right if any of you Pirates even so much as blink I'll send you to Davey Jones's Locker bam and then you imagine every single pirate there is just like did you blink no no God no correct yeah you're gonna shut up when you know Grandpa GARP is in town okay yeah uh GARP himself is actually lamenting the fact that his attack was not strong enough he's just like hmm what a letdown it's so frustrating I can't possibly deal with this I've really lost my touch it's gotten weaker and then so obviously GARP is like pushing 80 at this point he's like 78 I think garp's the same age as Rayleigh so uh yeah even though he's not sick like Whitebeard was um he is not in his prime anymore okay he has clearly gotten weaker since he's brawled with rocks at God Valley and he's fought with Roger and Whitebeard back in the day you know what I mean so he's not as strong but still this is the level GARP is at right now able to destroy damn back in my Heyday I would have been able to obliterate the entire Island which he doesn't say that but maybe May maybe I mean if he's lamenting that it's that much weaker and we see the full scale of this with the establishing shot we see the size of Hachi no Sue and how much damage he was able to incur on the town back in the day I was able to destroy a large town now I can destroy a small town this sucks you know something like that all right so who knows maybe back in the day he would have been able to obliterate the entire town whatever GARP is kind of upset by this the other Pirates though are just like are you kidding this enough is a destruction for you look at how much you obliterated town with like one Bunch Jesus this isn't enough for you old man you know what I mean this is insane you're really starting to get the vibe for how pirate and Marine Warfare went down like 30 or 40 years ago during like rox's Heyday you're starting to get the vibe there you know what I mean like there were hockey blows and like giant sword swings and every every battle had like an emperor ring over it you know what I mean like it was rough okay and GARP is a veteran from that time so we see Prince gruce and kujaku again uh they're okay they didn't die so that's good I guess they got out of the way of the giant impact right so they walk up and they start kind of talking about like how GARP called Kobe the future of the Marines all right and and Prince crew says maybe a little jelly about that he's just like I won't let that one slide you know because they're all high-ranking Marines they're all rear Admirals at this point and they're like Kobe this Captain he's the future of the Marines well I mean I guess he might be but like he doesn't have to say it you know so I don't know Prince screws a little tsundere I don't know who Rocco's there and she's like oh it's cute though Prince Cruz you know they care about each other you know uh GARP cares about his pupil you know that's that's nice you know by the way we now get like kind of a full view of both of them and I love Prince Cruz's jacket okay it's like this big uh like down jacket it kind of looks like a pimp jacket to be honest with you right you know this big jacket's super high collar he's got the big cap he's got the chain he's got the bling so um that's print screws it has Justice written on the back of it so he has a he has a pimp jacket that says you know Justice okay sure anyway uh they're there we also have Kobe and hibari they're not dead that's fantastic so they're off to the side and you know they're like ah Kobe come on get on the ship we're going and then habari's there and she's like all right but you know Mr GARP you gotta know that Kobe ain't gonna go anywhere she talks in like a um and some people have pointed this out so hibari talks in a like southwestern Japan accent Southwestern Japan not Southwestern America Two entirely different Southwest all right but now she talks in like a Hiroshima kind of dialect all right the only other character that talks like that at least in the Marines I think there are some characters in wano that use it as well because wanna was based off of Japan but the only other character in the marines that talks like that is a kainu is sakazuki so this has gotten a lot of people to think that hibari is sakazuki's daughter which laughs which I am a hundred percent for that because remember it Marine Ford when Kobe was like standing up for everybody and he's like I can't stand this anymore please everybody stop the Bloodshed and he like throws himself in front of an admiral and it kind of is like we don't need weaklings in these marines what he goes to attack him and then Shanks shows up and blocks the attack and Gobi like has his life flash before his eyes and you gotta know that GARP uh probably vouched for Kobe because after everything was said and done at Marine Ford okay after the battle had ended all the Pirates left they're tending to the wounded and uh you know I've always thought it would be awkward for a kainu being the fleet Admiral and he'd be like I'm the fleet Admiral now where was that that stupid like chief petty officer that that you know threatened the whole Marine's integrity and whatever and he's like oh he's down there oh look he's talking to your daughter holy holy oh that's how it goes hibari goes up to Kobe one day and habari is just like hey Kobe I saw what you did at Marine Ford and you were really brave and you stood up to my dad and everyone's always scared of him but yeah I was wondering if you wanted to go out and get ice cream sometime and Kobe's like oh gee Shucks I don't know maybe and then akaido's up there literally like an active volcano about to erupt he's like mouth Vesuvius just yeah I love it I love it GARP was probably the one that was like all right I kind of you're not kicking Kobe out of the Marines it's not happening okay and then also after the rocky Port incident and Kobe's now a hero you know if if habari really is Kobe I mean if habari really is a kainu's daughter then oh my God the the hilarity of that alone you know would be great well anyway habari's there and just like hey GARP we gotta get the chain off of Kobe he's not gonna be able to escape you know and uh you know everyone's like all right well Kobe come over here so Kobe has his iron ball and he begins to walk over to garpin everybody and habari's right behind him and habari begins to walk forward and then just just gets turned into a popsicle just like that and I'm like no not hibari and everybody's shouting you know um you know kuchaku and Kobe are like hey Bari no it's like you can't freeze habari but what dastardly man would have done such a dastardly deed and uh of course we already know the answer to that it's uh it's aokiji so aokiji steps up and he walks out all cool uh get it cool because he's he had known me the chili chili fruit he walks out and he's just like um sorry uh Kobe can't have you escape while teach is away it'll make it look bad on his record as a yonko you understand and so everybody doesn't really know how to react at first and Kobe's just like who's on well done unfreeze habari please you know and just like she was like we had a thing going on here I don't know what's going on man she was maybe waifu material come on you know what I mean and so um lkg's there and just staring down GARP and I love the lot well actually okay before we get to that before we get to the line between GARP and uh kuzan we now cut to the flashback of how koozon joined the Blackbeard Pirates okay and I love this scene I really do everything about this scene is like peak one piece for me and Oda in his element while writing okay so a little bit of a refresher here as like an establishing thing for this uh with the narrator okay so two years ago right after Marine Ford aokiji and Akainu fought it out on punkhouser to see who would become the next Fleet Admiral okay that happened pretty much right after Marine Ford so two years ago so it was probably like their wounds had maybe not even healed entirely from Marine Ford yet and they were like all right let's go okay they go out to punk Hazard they fight for I think like seven days or something I always confuse their fight with Jean Bae and uh Aces fight because I think one of the fights lasted 10 days and another fight lasted seven days which is absurd right I can't remember if it was Ace versus Jean Bay that was the seven day one or if Akino and I I feel like the Econo and aokiji one was 10 days because they're Admiral so they fight for longer anyway they fought a kainu won he became the next Fleet Admiral sakazuki and then kuzan left the Marines all right so this flashback takes place about a year after that fight and we're on a certain island in the new world and it's an island that has a pretty cool aesthetic it's like um the island kind of looks like you have a bunch of like I don't know like balloons but they're made out of rocks not like okay it's it's like basically like a like a sucker you know what I mean like you have like the the stick and then you have like this big orb on top of that you know what I mean but they're made out of like they're like rock formations and the buildings in town also have that similar structure like they're up on stilts it's like a cool design for a town well anyway we cut to the town itself and everybody's freaking out and running away and we see San Juan Wolf the battleship completely frozen over the town all right and so then we have Blackbeard showing up and um he you know the idea is Blackbeard's crew was hanging out on this island and San Juan shows up and then he's just frozen solid and then teach sees that and he's like oh what the hell there's only one person on this whole stinking Planet that'd be able and capable of doing something as stupid as this where are you and he like opens up the bar and he's really pissed and he he knows it's Al kiji because he's the only person that could possibly freeze somebody as huge as San Juan right so Blackbeard opens up the door to this bar and aokiji's in there sitting at the bar just drinking just in his just in his malaise and he's just depressed and he's just like Ugh yo would you calm down teach your guy attacked me first what'd you think was gonna happen glow glug so this is aokiji after his fight with a kainu but before he joined Blackbeard's crew so at this point he is essentially a Drifter he is just a Wanderer of the new world he doesn't look like he's that happy right now he even says you know I'm in a pretty heartbroken mood right now and who do you think I have to blame for it I assume he's meaning Akainu and uh this is what he's been doing I guess for the whole year after the battle after he recovered from his fight with Akainu his wounds healed he lost a leg he used his ice to replace it as like a prosthetic and he's just been bar hopping I guess and dude I I imagine this bar we could call it the sad pheasant because he's a pheasant he's aokiji like blue pheasant so it's called the sad pheasant and he's just hanging at the bar like uh I don't know if they have a jukebox in the one-piece world I'm assuming they do and it's just like I don't know Hank Williams Jr no Hank William senior him going even further back it's just Hank Williams Senior on the jukebox it's just like oh this is sad just it's so sad he's just like give me another sir I think you've had enough give me another on the Rocks you know I'll add the Rocks I'm the ice guy here he goes you know like that's that's how kiji's life all right so Blackbeard shows up opens the door he's pissed that San Juan is frozen and aokiji's just cold as ice man he's just like hey teach be careful using those quick quick Powers you got from Whitebeard if you're not careful you're shatter your friend up there oh man uh so we then have a little bit of a hard cut where you wonder what's going to happen like is Aoki cheese is Blackbeard going to come in and try to beat the crap out of aokiji and take his devil fruit or whatever uh no uh we actually just hard cut to the whole group outside so we see Blackbeard and Vasco shot Katarina Davon Lafitte is there Burgess is there auger is there um I think the whole Blackbeard crew really is here at this point uh San Juan is there he's unfrozen now and the whole group is just chilling outside the bar just getting drunk and having a good time they're just laughing aokiji is telling them the story of how the fight between him and akine who went and I love this I love this scene it's just like oh man let me tell you a story man all right it would be like if you were hanging out with aokiji at a bar you know you go to a bar some loner bar you know like a dive bar kind of place you walk in sad music's playing no one's dancing it's there's no live band it's nothing like that it's just a bunch of sad drunk sitting at a bar at like 11 o'clock at night all right and they're just like all old guys and trucker caps and they're just like you know and then aokiji's there and you sit down next to him he's like what's your story and like let me tell you a story and he tells you the whole he's like all right all right so then we're fighting right and it's epic and then I throw a giant Frozen pheasant in him and then he throws a red dog at me and they clash and made this giant Lake in the middle of the island it was it was crazy you know what I mean so they're just he's telling the story as they're getting drunk and I love this line and then one of the Blackbeard Pirates was like oh what did that kind of say next what did he say next and he said he's like all right uh you know the time we had together you know and now we have to fight it makes my blood boil you know that was something that a kind of said you know we were friends we fought together we were we were raised in the Marines together and now we have to fight one another it makes my blood boil aokiji and he's like oh what did you say uncle what did you say he's like well that would be the magma you idiot I was like oh God it's crazy um let's see um he shows them his leg he's just like yeah it was a crazy battle bastard took my leg he lifts up the leg and just snaps it off because it's made of ice which by the way that would be great at parties aokiji would be great at a party he shows up you know after some drinks or whatever he's like hey everybody check this out Crack just cracks off his leg and just throws it out the window and he's like oh my god what happened you know so this is this is great they're just all getting drunk of alappuzaros there and he's like oh man all right he took a leg off of you did you rip an arm off a kainu and aokiji's like nah I didn't rip off any limbs but I'm pretty sure he got banged up you know what's it's interesting we actually have not seen that much of a kainu's body you know like a kind of has a scar like a pretty nasty Scar from like a like an ice scar I guess an ice burn but uh we don't know the rest of his body like a kind who could take off his shirt calm down and uh like part of his like his like kidney could be missing or something like that you know what I mean like he could have really you know his limbs are all still intact but you know Akino might have Frozen something all else off of him maybe I don't know uh take that whatever you will um by the way by the way this also reminds me of the scene in Film Z when Luffy and Zoro and everybody are in the bath and they meet aokiji in there and it's like a better version of that scene because that was a movie it was non-canon right and so obviously they couldn't address things in the Canon that had yet to been talked about in the manga yet so it led to this really funny scene where Luffy meets out kiji in the bath and he's all covered in scars and he gets out and they see he has no leg and he has to make the leg with his ice and he gets out and then Luffy's there and his first question is just like like why did you like why did uh why did you leave the Marines and aokiji's like uh did anyone ever tell you you don't ask personal questions because that well that's one of them I'm not answering that it's like okay um well then why did you and that kind of fight I thought you were friends yeah gonna have to pass on that one too I'm not telling you and then there's like oh okay well okay what's up with this Zephyr guy Zephyr Zed you know being the main villain of the movie and then finally aokiji is like oh all right well I guess you're not gonna let up guess I gotta tell you the story about him I love that seat in the movie because it's basically like Luffy being like can you answer me this Canon question nope sorry kid we're in a movie all right well how about this other tanning question I told you we're in a movie I can only answer movie related non-cannon questions right now so what's up with the main villain of the movie there you go all right here's the story it's like I love that but here it's just like he can actually answer it's like an actual more conversation I love that so he snaps off his leg he's like yeah he took a leg off me and everything like that um at this point uh they get brought up of the uh the poneglyphs okay so he's although speaking of you know the red poneoglyphs right they're these road poneoglyphs that apparently if you get all four of them you get to go to laugh tail and you get to find the one piece right so the Blackbeard Pirates a year ago were aware of these red um Road Panic lifts or load Panic lifts depending on the translation whatever you're following now okay so they're talking to aokiji about this because aokiji apparently had no knowledge of these things he didn't know the the red Pawn Eclipse existed he only knew the original ones he even says that at O'Hara I did not see any large red pony glyph at O'Hara okay so um Blackbeard mentions they you know two of these Road pawning glyphs are in the possessions of kaido and big mom at this point and there's two of them that are up for grabs that nobody knows where they're at now one of these is the one at Zoe that's located in the whale Forest so to most regular Pirates they have no idea that that's there and it was a very rare opportunity the straw hats were able to get that one first okay because they were allies of the minks okay but the other the other one though he's like this so they have no idea about the Zoe one they have no idea where that one's at but they said the uh four throwed Pony glyph the one that has been missing purportedly the man marked by Flames knows its whereabouts or might even have it in his possession okay but nobody really knows what that is and it's a funny scene where alkiji even says man marked by flames you mean me because he's like covered in Burn scars and so Vasco shots just like no it's not you you got those Stars recently this guy's had scars for a while all right so check aokiji off the list of possible um you know suspects for the man marked by Flames um and honestly maybe mark off Saul as well because I was just under the impression that Saul was the one that had it um but in a moment we'll get to that so um actually right now Lafitte walks up and he begins to mention he's like yes the man marked by Flames they say he sails around the new world in a pitch black ship all those that approach him get sucked away in a massive Whirlpool that appears out of nowhere as if it's protecting his vessel he most likely has a devil fruit ability all right so we get this is like one of our first substantial Clues as to who this individual is the man marked by Flames are you goes on to high posit um shiruyu thinks it's a member of the world government it's like yeah we all know the world government isn't full of saints so I would imagine they would probably keep one of the road pawn and glyphs for themselves that way if they could just get one of them that would mean nobody could get the one piece by the way I love it whenever the one piece is referenced by name in the actual one-piece manga it's happened more frequently now that we're getting into the final Saga but every time I see a character actually saying the words one piece I just get giddy I just leave you boy um so it's it's happening um anyway man marked by Flames pitch black ship creates World polls probably a devil fruit user um my first thought with this dragon that was that was my first inkling um I I'm kind of not thinking of Saul right now because Saul is all bandaged up staying at um El path and the implication is he doesn't leave the implication is he's like wanted by the government he probably would not leave elbaf also he was severely wounded at the end of O'Hara I mean that was 20 years ago but the wounds might have he might have been you know to the point where he might not be able to move under his own power anymore you know what I mean I mean he was damaged a lot at O'Hara he was covered head to toe in bandages so maybe you know the bandages have come off but he might still be severely wounded right so I don't see Saul just getting into a pitch black ship and just sailing around the ocean for no reason and Saul did not have a devil fruit ability I mean it's been 20 years maybe he did eat one and now he has some kind of you know Whirlpool manipulation ability or something but I immediately thought a dragon because Dragon um revolutionary he sails in a ship called the wind grandma and we've seen it before and while it's not entirely a pitch black ship it could be I mean this was 12 years ago maybe they painted it or maybe this like the color scheme of the anime was not correct um so it could have been dragon and dragon manipulates the weather whether or not he has like the storm storm fruit to manipulate all weather or only maybe particulars like wind or whatever but he can definitely manipulate the weather in some form okay so if that's the case then maybe he's the one summoning this whirlpools that was the first thing I was thinking of but also let's not discount shiruyu's theory of it being a member of the government oh it might be em um okay here's the deal you might be wondering about that because eem backwards IMU is Umi Umi ocean a popular theory is what if eem has the ability to manipulate the Seas or eem is Mother ocean something like that okay now you might be questioning why would aim ever leave marijua well if eem is a deity or the closest thing to a deity or is a ghost or something like that you could totally have a situation where like eem's physical body has to reside at marijua but they might be able to split their Consciousness to another body or even could teleport warp around the world I don't know sailing in an ominous pitch black ship creating whirlpools wherever they go seems to be something that I could see eem doing you know what I mean it might also be a way to lure people out you know I was like oh are you looking for the last Road poneoglyph come and seek the man marked by Flames the one that sails in the pitch black ship set that rumor out there and then people start following the trail and then they get eliminated so everybody that would even be attempting to look for the last Road upon a glyph is wiped off the map and is sucked into a Whirlpool game over right right um if even can teleport or if eem can just like I will split my Consciousness between two bodies or I will send my physical body out there or my soul or maybe aim could transform you know eem has like the shadowy silhouetted form we've always seen we don't know what aim looks like aim could always take off the uh the mask or whatever and go out to sea every now and then even is the ruler of the world technically they can do whatever they want you know and if and if this being truly is like a deity or demigod some kind of abilities maybe even Lafitte thinks it's a devil fruit it might not be a devil fruit it might be something else Beyond devil fruits okay it might be because the mother ocean um the way that vegapunk talked about it mother ocean Mother Nature hates and despises devil fruits so if that's the situation it might be something along the lines of like just direct manipulation of the ocean itself okay so yeah that's another thing too it's like I'm sure there are devil fruits out there that could create whirlpools there are devil fruits that can manipulate the ocean out kiji is a perfect example of that he has a logia he has the Hino me but he could still freeze the entire ocean with his power he's still weak to water but his devil fruit ability is kind of like the hard counter to that if he's about to fall into the water he could just freeze it and I mean not a big deal um I'm sure there is a devil fruit out there that could maybe like maybe similar to like buffaloes like you know rotation fruits something like that where you can make things spin just by looking at it and that's what creates the whirlpools you could look at it like that or maybe this being can literally just snap their fingers and manipulate the ocean summon whirlpools summon tsunamis whenever they so desire I don't know a lot of stuff on the table there this is where aokiji mentions that like oh the pony glyphs bear nothing but bitter memories for me I did not see a red stone at up like he's the narrator like if if the O'Hara like flashback with Robin was a movie this is like alkiji narrating the beginning of the movie and just like I knew a friend once he fought against the world government and on that Island covered in fire with a mighty tree of knowledge burning in the background and a little girl's crying eyes I took Justice into my own hands that day opening credits Ohara coming next summer okay yeah that would be basically it okay so he's in the middle of about reminiscing about Ohara like he's drunk and he's about to tell the story of O'Hara and they're like oh what's with the sob story but while he's telling that story Lafitte kind of like you know kind of leans into Blackbeard and lafitte's like hey Commodore um I think we should steal his devil fruit I mean it's a logia it's the ice fruit I mean it'd be pretty damn useful and now kiji just kind of looks over at them and just like I can hear you you idiot I'm not that drunk okay and he immediately like kicks out all the tables over and just just flash freezes most of the Blackbeard crew like that like Vasco of allo Burgess everyone just gets frozen uh San Juan is still there he's not frozen but the only one's not frozen or San Juan and Blackbeard I think I don't know if Lafitte managed to get away he might have been because Lafitte can fly but most of them are just like frozen solid and now kg's like getting ready for a fight just like I knew you son of I knew you guys were after my devil fruit I heard it I knew it so bring it on you gonna fight me and so uh Blackbeard is just like now hang on a second say haha my pal over here Lafitte was just being a dumbass he was just telling a lame joke We're not gonna steal your devil fruit all right if anything I wanted to ask you to join us being part of my crew comes on come on you're you're you're you're jobless right now right you're homeless we offer amazing health benefit package come on over right and aokiji's just like you idiots do you think that pounding back a couple drinks will be enough for me to join you guys and Blackbeard's like ah say look it you got us all wrong kuzan all right we're not just a bunch of idiot pirates that go around drinking you know we're in this for a common cause so that we can all benefit from it you know and Blackbeard is actually not entirely wrong the way that pirates operated back in the day they were not just like a bunch of Merry like oh I like to drink oh you like to drink do you like to fight oh I love to fight all right let's be Pirates okay you know like that's not how historical Pirates were they were usually ex-marines or ex-navy you know and they got together and there were criminals on board of course and um you know even and actually they were traitors to the crown or whatever so they were all you know know they like the captain like a like a Henry Avery who was the King of the Pirates historically he used to work in the Navy and then he defected right he mutinied basically so but but there's like a contract in a thing it's just not like let's just sail around and fight against the Marines you know it's like we're gonna write a contract who gets what share of treasure we're in this for a common interest and all that kind of jazz right so Blackbeard basically is saying Hey listen you know uh we're here because we have our own agendas and we're all working together to get those agendas okay to achieve those dreams so to speak and it's like that's what makes us pirates now koobs on you're free from the Marines you can follow your own sense of justice from here on out so what do you want to do not what you want not what aokiji wants to do what is koozon the man standing before me right out right now want to do with his life and so we cut back to the present where we have the title box announcing kuzan as the 10th captain of the Blackbeard Pirates okay now I'm beginning to wonder at this point like you know I originally assumed that aokiji might have very well have been a member of Sword because like working double agent and trying to help out Kobe now I'm not too sure now that could still be the case you know what I mean like a year had went by for Mac hainu to this meeting with aokiji and Blackbeard so a lot of stuff can happen in a year it could have been a thing where he was recruited by GARP and like hey we want you to hang out on this island we know Blackbeard's frequency he's going to be there set it all up like this whole thing was just a setup from you know the moment one and aokiji's obviously not going to be like hey Blackbeard I will now join your crew yay no he's gonna pretend to be his enemy first like don't think I'll go with you you know it could be like that it could be like that or as I think about this more might have just joined Blackbeard's crew because he wanted to he's just like I want to see the rest of the perspective of the world because here's the thing we as the fans know Blackbeard is is evil right he's trying to like take over the world and okay and he's he captured Ace and he killed Whitebeard and he's not a good person right but I just want to ask you a question okay should aokiji give a about any of the horrible things that Blackbeard did to the point where aokiji would not join him so let's go over the list of the horrible things that Blackbeard has done well first and foremost he killed thatch he killed thatch and stole the yamiyami Nummy why would aokichi care about that he's like you killed a pirate and stole a devil fruit aokiji doesn't have any connection to like Whitebeard in that way he has no connection to thatch he doesn't care he captured Ace and threw him to the government it's like I'll teach you doesn't give a about Ace he's a pirate you know he fought him at Marine Ford you know uh well uh Blackbeard you know he betrayed the government and got in there and he killed Whitebeard it's like aokichi left the Marines in the government he's not part of it anymore and he Whitebeard was just a pirate to him I don't see any reason like or any overarching reason why kuzan would be like I'll never join you Blackbeard you killed Ace a man that I have no connections with whatsoever and then you killed Whitebeard In Cold Blood a pirate that I spent most of my life fighting against anyway I'll never join your evil crew you know nah I really don't see any reason like actually pounding back some some booze and talking it out kuzan might be like now he's he's defected from the Marines and not part of the government anymore he's like maybe I should join you guys all right screw it let's go you know maybe I mean he gonna just join them right anyway cutting back to the present we have this interaction between kuzan and GARP now okay so he bari's Frozen Kobe's there he can't really fight with the iron ball and he has to tend to habari he's got to get her out of there so GARP is there and he's just like you better unfreeze habari let us get out of here with Kobe and put on a damn uniform get back in uniform out kiji let's go right and now kiji he's you know icing himself up he's ready to go and he's just like oh GARP you were always so blunt like that that's why I respected you so much but I just can't let you leave let's see who's stronger let's see who you care about more your new Pro your new Protege or your old protoj implying that aokiji was like you know back in the day GARP raised alkiji as like the Kobe of that generation okay like that was the first person he really took on as like a student okay we kind of see that throughout whenever aokiji speaks to GARP in like the Strong World episode we see that there uh they were like you know they were good friends okay so that's what happened there GARP taught aokiji personally also probably an idea for his sense of like moral Justice and how that came to be right so they're getting ready to fight and GARP is like oh oh kuzan there's not gonna be a fight there's just gonna be two hits me hitting you and you hitting them and then al-q does ice ball and just freezes GARP solid do you think it's gonna work you think it's gonna work freezing GARP solid no it's not gonna work it just boom breaks out of the ice and just like and you hitting the floor grabs aokiji by his jaw blue hole shoves aokiji through the ground like a tent pole like one of those like you ever you ever put together a fence a couple summers ago I was helping my friend put together a fence and he has one of those fence post things that are like you know you rub it up and just fires the post right into the ground it's like that times a hundred all right boom throws aokiji straight through the Cobblestone breaks through the sidewalk breaks through the Bedrock and straight down the name of the attack is Blue Hole which is the the implication of like you're going all the way down to the ocean I am throwing you straight through an island into the ocean all right that is the attack listen up kuzan only weaklings lose their way boom and then just one shots aokiji now aokiji's not dead no aokiji's not dead even if aokiji hits the water just freeze it provided he's not unconscious which he might be freeze the water he's not gonna drown he's not gonna die but this is GARP just man and handling an admiral not a big deal for him all right this is like an ordinary Wednesday for him okay um and then we just cut away from that scene we just got away now here's another thing too I I'm split at the moment between the whole kuzan being a legitimate member of Blackbeard's crew like he just really went over to their side or him being a member of Sword because if he was a member of Sword you know it's not like he's gonna announce that it's not like he's like GARP I am a secret member of Sword I will help you no they're gonna if he is a member of sword and GARP is too they're going to want to make the fight look good you know what I mean and just like hey man if we ever have to fight you know you go full power because I can't let my cover be blown and garp's like all right I won't but you know that kind of right so um yeah and he also says you know if you've losed your way so maybe aokiji hasn't lost his way maybe this is his way it's just that they have to you know they have have to you know wrestle so to speak they have to put on a show for everybody and it has to be believable so whether or not aokiji is a member of Sword it's not like he would just reveal it right now you know what I mean the Blackbeard's crew is all around him the 10 Titanic captains are still there we don't even see them we don't even see Vasco or um you know a Pizarro or San Juan in in the context of the the present we see them in the flashback but that's it so yeah GARP just grabs out kiji and just throws them through the ground just just just a standard move just not a big deal for him okay right so um yeah I'm guessing if this works though they could just grab Kobe and at least get out of there hibari is probably not frozen permanently it's similar to Robin if you just put her in some water and just heat her up then she'll eventually thaw probably something similar to that I don't see how kiji being so cold-blooded as to just freeze you know have already solid and just kill her right away you know what I mean so I I think they'll be able to get out of there now but we'll see what happens right uh also keep in mind um oh a couple of things Kobe does mention that they're not all sword members so he's like oh Tasha jiggy's here even non-sword members are helping so even though tashiki is not a member of Sword she knows about swords so sword is not as secretive as we all thought or at least a few people outside of sword do know about its existence and the second thing Katarina Davon and Lafitte since aokiji is confirmed to be here at Hachi nosu we know that Katarina Davon and Lafitte were probably the ship that were heading toward Egghead so we have Blackbeard's group at weiner Island we have aukiji's group here at hashimosu there's one more Blackbeard ship and I'm assuming it's I mean I guess it could only be one of them but I would assume it'd be Katarina and Lafitte together and that's a dangerous combination because Lafitte is a hypnotist that can you know Mesmerize people and also Katarina Davon has the ability of the Kitsune mythical Zone that allows her to transform into people we don't know how she transforms if she has to like physically touch the person like Mr tube on clay or maybe she just has to see them or just think about them or see a picture we don't know how her ability works but it works and she can transform into people with lafitte's hypnotizing ability that's going to be very devastating anywhere they go but they're going to Egghead where there's already a lot of characters running around so just keep that in mind okay so now we cut to the last scene of the chapter we cut back to weiner island in the new world where Blackbeard was facing off against the heart Pirates against Law's crew and um uh we took down Eustis although you know what I'm not going to take down law over here not yet all right so we see the island we see laws hatch laying on the ground covered in dirt and blood and we cut under the ocean to see the polar Tang the heart pirate submarine just absolutely destroyed it's like ripped in half screws and bolts are everywhere it is sinking to the ocean floor Jean Bard is there and he's out there and he's like floating in the water and Blackbeard's just staring down like Blackbeard is there looming Over Law and Beppo they're on the ground beaten to they're like oh you know and the narrator comes on and says you know the polar Tang is currently sinking to the ocean floor so Blackbeard is like ah you know those 100 Hearts you gathered to become a member of the Warlords those were taken from Pirates at the rocky port a lot of the Pirates are still my men that are working at Hachi nosu they're gonna be overjoyed when we kill you right without a ship you can't even be considered a pirate anymore and so law is there and he's like he's trying to think of some way out of this his other crew is all beaten Beppo's there bleeding Beppo is on the ground and he's just kind of like okay I got one last effort so he takes something we don't know what it is and we see him eating something like Munch we see like the the chewing sound effect and a little bubble of Chopper shows up like Beppo is remembering something Shopper sends a chopper is like okay I don't know if this will work with you but just be careful here you go and so Beppo is like I gotta try foreign so now what are we gonna do with the op-op fruit I guess we could sell it I guess we could use it actually do you fancy making me Immortal laws all right so a couple of very important things there first of all Blackbeard is aware of the ability of the Oppa fruit also it also means he does he has not stolen it yet okay because he asked law to use the immortal surgery The Immortal surgery or the Eternal youth operation has to be performed by the user of the fruit on somebody else and in exchange the person that performs the operation the user dies so this confirms Blackbeard did not steal the op-op fruit yet that is important okay so he's having that conversation when on all of a sudden Beppo shows up Sue long form and just boom a giant tank of a polar bear we're talking like 10 tons of polar Fury and just rips the out of black weird and Van auger just knocks them all back with a mighty paw swing and they all get knocked down and he's like what the hell is that a Soo long the moon's not even out right now how did he go so long and Beppo's like oh drugs I'm cocaine Bear Let's Go I mean he kind of is all right so I'll just finish the chapter really quick and then we'll talk about the awesomeness that is Beppo so long so he knocks Blackbeard back he picks up law and he dives into the water keep in mind Beppo is a mink he's a polar bear mink in fact polar bears can swim crazy good in the water their paws are huge to basically be used as like paddles in the water okay and a regular polar bear can swim like I think upwards of like six seven miles per hour maybe a little faster if they're like really booking it but this is Beppo he's trained in the Pirates you know he's he's a mink he's so long he's ready to go he's hopped up on cocaine so he's probably just he's booking at like a motorboat down that freak he's out of there he's out of the island they're firing cannons at them and stuff law is there and he's just like Peppa we need to go back for the crew we need to go back it's like no Captain no it's okay we survived the Frozen Waters of the north all the way to the Grand line they can survive you know they can we'll make it out alive but you need to survive captain please don't die so it's kind of like is a war movie like Peppa Peppa we gotta go back we gotta go back for for our crew my hats what we gotta go back for my hat Peppo it's the only hat I have those hats are really rare it's I bought it from a dude I can't get another one go back for the Hat Peppo it's my it's my character trait Peppo we can't we can't lose the Hat if there's no time Captain I'm sorry damn it and that's the end of the chapter um on this day the heart Pirates led by Trafalgar D Walter Law were soundly defeated not completely annihilated it soundly defeated annihilated kids crew annihilated laws crew soundly defeated they're just putting them to bed okay um at least with this situation like a kid is probably still alive too but we weren't we weren't really given a knowledge of like oh maybe I don't know maybe he killed him uh maybe Shanks just killed him but no kid is still alive but here we have a hundred percent confirmation law is still alive and Beppo and him are getting away so uh yeah thank God for Peppo man Beppo I knew it man I knew you were gonna be the savior of this manga oh man Beppo Soo long that's great okay cocaine bearpo Sue Long Rumble ball technology so that's probably what it was you know Chopper was working on the rumble ball Tech with Caesar and they're doing some signs or whatever and maybe after working with the minks for a little bit you know you know carrots and everybody like that maybe Chopper was like Hey you know it's weird um you know you're going into Sue long is kind of similar to my monster Point form what I used with my Rumble ball I wonder if there's a connection I wonder if there's a connection between Minx and Zone users it would make sense if there was honestly so what if Chopper took a rumble Bond he's like okay I'll give this to you Beppo this might be able to unlock your Sue long form Whenever Wherever You Are doesn't matter if the moon's out or what I'm not sure if it'll work and I'd have no idea what the side effects would this be on a make but here you go if you want it so Chopper is a nice guy and he helped out the mix maybe he gave some to Karen and Wanda too like all the minks in case they needed it but Beppo definitely needed it here and so he went rage mode cocaine Bears so long and just knocked back everybody we already kind of knew about sulong Beppo Oda alluded to it in the SBS uh in the law light novel he uses it and it's really devastating there if you've read that um but my God he looks just I don't even know if this is his normal sulong because he's on drugs you know any anime power up that has a specific condition just drugs you could you could drug away around it you know what I mean like yeah so I don't even know if this is Beppo's original Soo long form this might be like a more roided out version of that right well he knocks away Blackbeard and auger in like one attack and then grabs law and then just books out of there like 80 miles an hour all right so yeah oh so uh you know Jean Bart Sachi penguin ikaku Panda man Panda went man was a member of the heart Pirates we see him so they're all out of there they all left they all left them behind so hopefully they won't die they'll be captured by Blackbeard most assuredly brought back to Hachi no Sue to throw in his prisoners um and so that's the end of the chapter oh man this week break next week also another break so we're hitting and fading is there a break next week I remember reading there was it wasn't listed here on the chapter but I'm pretty sure there is a break next week because I think it's golden week coming up in Japan so it's not a break on Otis part it's just golden week it's a holiday so yeah anyway uh this was a crazy chapter not I don't think it was as crazy as the shanks chapter and then the GARP chapter but you know we got to see guard fighting against kuzan we got to see kuzan's backstory with Blackbeard we got to see um maybe a kainu's daughter get frozen solid and uh we got to see the heart Pirates being soundly defeated by Blackbeard okay and so law still has his fruit thankfully and as long as as long as law has Beppo he'll be okay Peppo is his time-honored best friend it's like it's okay Captain we'll be okay it's just you and me as long as we have each other you know I mean so Beppo is the MVP of this chapter even though GARP slammed aokiji into the floor I'm going with Beppo being MVP here 500
