[Music] hey every one egman here with a another video and today we have a top 16 breakdown for my eb1 double winnner box tournament that I held last night it was over 100 players and seven rounds of Swiss into this top 16 that we see here today and a couple things before we get started first if you guys are new to the Channel please make sure to hit that like And subscribe button it does help the channel grow and I really do appreciate the support from that also I do want to shout out both Brian and Ru for being the judges for this event I wouldn't be able to host it without them and also my co- commentator human for doing the commentary with me if you guys want to see the live stream for it is on YouTube and twitch for members and subscribers respectively which you can check out right here and then I will also be re-uploading an up an edited version of this on Friday of this week so you guys can watch that that'll be open to the public too and you guys can check that out there but I do want to say thank you to all the subscriptions and memberships on Twitch and YouTube respectively again I really do uh it helps a lot too and I I do really appreciate it so that's kind of what uh I have to go down we're just going to go over the event now as is but again it was held last night May 7th 127 players seven rounds of Swiss best of one and there are the streams so if you guys want to see on the deck list there are also on my website Eggman events which is linked in the description and uh let's just jump on into the leader so uh this is you know a the first event uh you know first week of EB one so I think a lot more people are doing experimentation I do know it's 127 people but it's more of just like a giant locals so uh you kind of make sure to keep that in mind when looking at what decks are doing well and just the the breakdown but I am really pleased with the the amount of with the amount of diversity that this event had uh for the top 16 we had four copies of stard deck 10 troger law uh three sakazuki two Nate two anel one stard deck stard deck 11 UTA one yam one Sabo one gecko Moria and one Monkey D Luffy so honestly from where we are at where it's the big three of sakazuki Moria and kataku taking up you know 75% on average of the top 16 and of the leader breakdown uh they're not even in half on this one which I think is really fun so uh in katak didn't even top uh three people took the deck for this event too think a lot more people are testing out a n again for this one and uh yeah just seeing this shift from uh you know a half set kind of thing I think is really interesting and uh it's kind of giving me hope that maybe there's going to be some diversity in the next couple weeks for eb1 still kind of wish that the sakazuki ban hit earlier than that but I do think it's in a good spot too so uh honestly it was a lot of fun it was really easy to find some diverse matchups for the event and again it was serious there was prizing on the line but it is I think again a giant locals at the end of the day uh so because of that you know there's some some Decks that might not be able to do as well maybe at a regional level but uh it was really cool to see uh play and there's some really interesting matchups for it so I don't really have much more to say on that kind of low end but uh I do want to go over every leader that topped for this event which again we got nine different leaders uh top this event which I think is really impressive for 127 people and just how big this event was in general so anyways we're going to go over each one of these lists starting off with our uh each one of these leaders rather starting off with our winning leader which is Cameron with uh the sakazuki and I think it's a bit of a shame that uh it you know we do have so much diversity in this top 16 and sakazuki still wins it so I don't think it's a bad thing necessarily and I think there's still diversity but don't don't just see that sakazuki one and thought that all this meta is just kind of done uh because I do think there's a lot of room for experimentation in a lot of ways but uh sakazuki uh only got buffed from eb1 technically we do have the new 2k T-Bone which uh is a Navy type which means that you can search it off the brand new and shigi the fact that Rebecca can add it from to your hand and it has a kind of relevant onplay effect which uh being able to KO two or less just by playing it so not a terrible card it's just like another card of removal and uh you know we used to play Virgo in the spot uh and so this this Virgo would never be played but sometimes you would play this T-Bone if you need to get removal on something too so uh the winning build was also the uh Navy HQ build uh which I think is a little bit more popular I just with red purple law being around in this meta 2 they just have so many four drops that exist and there's some you know need for an additional minus one all the time as well so I think it's worth it in this meta I think that we might see the Marine Ford version being a little bit better than I'd say the standard version but we'll have to see what it looks like in the next couple weeks as well uh but other than that just kind of the standard package that we've been seeing for sakazuki so nothing more to say on a deck building I do think it does still take a good amount of skill to Pilot this deck and make the decisions for it and Cameron was able to do that for this event too so congratulations to Cameron for their finish and uh just with sakazuki we got one more month with it we'll see if it continues to top I think it will but I guess we'll see there too so anyways next up we do have troger law which is the new deck on the Block this is Cody's version of it here and uh I do like the fact that draf foger law has enough Tech options that uh you do have some diversity in the builds just based on what they're using uh I think the newer card that I don't see as often but I see in this build is the Tony Tony Chopper it's a three drop blocker so not too bad it's a 4K so uh you do need to some removal in some cases for it uh it's a blocker and then Dawn times 2 when attacking give up to one of your opponent's characters minus 3K power for the turn so being able to be like a 6K attack but then also being able to be a version of like the Gordon I think is very strong I see a lot of people run like four copies of Gordon and four copies of rais Max but Cody's version specifically did not do that they're only playing the Gordon for it which I thought was interesting uh so that means you do get a little bit more Flex exibility on less copies of bricks uh we are playing four copies of troger law which is helpful for getting things into range too uh so this was able to get you know with leader effect this gets rid of 5Ks or less and this gets rid of 6ks or less uh and then Tony Tony Choppers the same kind of thing so I think that's impactful and then we also have uh the seven drop Ace as a top end for additional removal uh it's pretty easy to play this on turn seven use the minus three effect afterwards and get rid of a six or less with this Ace and you can maybe even do some trades on some stuff that's already rested so I think that's good if you're not playing uh you know four copies of rais Max as well I think Ace is good as an inclusion for this one and then we do have the bond clay the new cards like the rest of the stuff I think is pretty standard for the deck uh but that's kind of the the alternative ways to get the removal based on giving minus power I think is unique in this build specifically specifically from Cody so uh that's really it for for this one I think red purple law is going to be quite the force in the in next set and probably going to be one of the big three uh going into it as well so not much more to say but congratulations to Cody for their second place finish with this one next up we have Newgate so we have Zachary here with their copy of Newgate we got two new gates in the top 16 for this one and uh he's just kind of the leader who just won't go away completely right uh definitely not as good as it was in uh previous metas and I do think it's kind of in the set where if your opponent has like a somewhat like suboptimal play uh nugate really is able to take off I also think like uh sakazuki can be one of its better matchups and tfal La at times where you are just kind of difficult to hit down uh without your opponent having their own copy of Shariah and because of that it's in a good spot in that I think you're good against anel sometimes though I think anel was able to stabilize a lot of situations and uh sakazuki too again you just have so many Rush cards uh and if your oppon if they're not able to efficiently remove your cards while while doing it it's in a you know I think Newgate has a bit of the advantage so um it's a very personalized build for this one we see lots of ones and twos uh which is which is interesting to see like the otama one copy sharah as well as having uh some bad maners kick course one guard point and a jet pistol of all things too so a very personalized list again I think Newgate is going to continue to be on that kind of Fringe where uh it is still able to take advantage of uh some players who don't know the benefits you know the the way to play against Newgate sometimes it just hits very hard consistently and uh is able to you know uh be aggressive enough against some of the slower decks too so not much more to say but congratulations to Zachary for their third place finish with new gate and then uh for fourth place we do have Antonio with stard deck 11 UTA uh I have tested with this build 50 cards for 50 I think this is pretty close to the build for the deck uh there's been uh you know this this build has done very well and since we are uh so needed to play the film cards uh this is I think standard for for what UT looks like for this one specifically we do have like the bluno blocker new from this set it's just kind of a better copy of Bart just because we do want to play it off the usus kid uh there are a lot of decks in this format that get punished by this card existing I think sakazuki is one of the few that does not it's pretty easy for the deck to remove this card but so many other ones do not have the options to do that Red's not super prevalent meaning that they don't get like the Minus cost for it gecko Mor can remove this card but it's a little bit expensive at times and usually it kind of gets at the point where you remove this by uh you know giving up some better turns on Tempo unlike sakazuki which can get removed and also build the board uh and then additionally like yellow gets hit by it very hard which I think yellow's pretty healthy across a lot of different decks right now so because of that I think it's very uh strong for for what this meta looks like I also think that uh red yellow gets to uh or like it gets uh rid of black yellow Luffy pretty good I've never really lost that match up with this deck if we set up kid because they have to like set up board go wide but then we have this 8K that is really easy to defend especially since we do have these blockers that are hard to interact with for for the stard deck 13 Luffy so I think that's impactful but just kind of like what the build looks like I think this is a pretty uh safe build for it and sard 11 UTA is the only real weakness for it is that it has a really really tough matchup for uh sakazuki and then uh sometimes uh red purple law can go either way uh the biggest thing about it is that uh if they use like they can Su use like Gordon or something to make the usus kid cost 5K even if they can't remove it outright with their leader effect they can make it a 5K and they can attack into it pretty easily compared to a lot of other leaders too so uh so I think that's impactful but the deck is still in a good spot and uh as long as you are able to get your uh you know your value train going you can get so many cards early and it's it's very very strong for you so not much more to say but congratulations to our uh YouTube player Antonio for their top four finish next up we have Yamato so this is Andrew's version of it here and uh one of my favorite things about yam in op6 you know vanilla format is that there are a lot of different ways to build the deck and still be strong and I still think that's true for this meta too if not more so we do get a good amount of new cards we've seen uh Flume just be a really good generic yellow card uh especially since there are a lot of decks that still want to like go down to one or less life pretty quickly so that helps you out a lot there uh we are playing like the uh uh what the sky island uh par uh variant of it where we have a lot of Sky Island cards meaning The Omen holy uh is in part of this deck uh we have the rush Ace which has been fantastic since release in stard deck 13 since we go down to two life pretty easy and it's a five drop 7K which on the turn you play it it's a five drop 9k because you can use your leader effect to put D two on underneath it uh inherently we're not playing Kiko nojo in this build which is really uh bizarre cuz I think a lot of builds are playing that card but I do understand like it can be a bit of a consistency issue where it can be the best card if it's in your life but if it's in your hand it's the worst card so I understand that and I think being able to use Ace instead is just as strong uh and then we also have like the enel we have the hody Jones we're also not playing like onami which I think is really interesting but more of just like this Rush get make sure we have cards that we get on board and then we can buff them with our leader effect because again like Rush with yam is fantastic because it means that you have this extra Dawn immediately uh usable which is helpful for uh you know getting some bigger attacks we also are playing four copies of uh I am God or did someone say Ki uh it's lets you play an L from your hand or trash and put your life down to one so that's kind of why flampe is great because you get to draw cards out of your life instead of like losing them from trashing them from uh this card here so and then anel a good again is great uh it's a little bit tricky for your opponent to remove it sometimes uh I think Ace is better uh in a lot of ways but being able to play it for four is you get so much pressure if you're able to do so and then uh we have like the 200 million volts and the uh zero cost events to help us survive uh while having some bricks in hand so uh a really you know Rush build build of yam but I think it's very strong when it goes off and uh yeah it's it's terrifying if you don't have the defenses ready for all of these 7K Rush attacks or really 9k Rush attacks with leader effects so that is the build here congratulations to Andrew for their finish with theam and then next up we have anel itself so anel I think has been very popular in uh you know this new eb1 just because we did get a couple cards we already talked about uh did someone say God but we also do get the copy of Ryo which is just a great clear uh just main KO up to one of your opponent's characters uh with the only strings attached is you have to go down to one life which is not really a cost for a no more times not and then otherwise than that I've seen some more like Rush bills that look kind of like that Yao list we looked at but uh for this one specifically uh more of just kind of the standard uh we are a bit of a control deck right we do have like the a drop katakuri the uh nine drop yam we have two copies of linlin still playing some copies of Ace 2 because it's a great card on curve and then we do have some new tools as well including the Sher hosi which is an okay blocker for the deck it does have the when this is ko'ed by an effect you get to add one card from the top of your deck to your life some decks uh are better at answering this card than others but it's a 1K that's a blocker so I don't think it's too terrible if you have the space to add it uh and sometimes it can just be a Blocker in uh some some good spots obviously it hits gets hit by uh the 200 million volts pretty easy and obviously that sakazuki can bottom deck it too but sometimes like gecko Maria doesn't really have a way to get rid of this without koing it with abelam so it's just like being able to guarantee a block for two I think is strong um so I don't really have much more to say about it now I think we're going to see a lot of it for E1 a lot of people testing it again now that it has some new cards and then again for sure in opo 7 next month with the release of the 10 drop Ace so this is list here congratulations to Daniel for their finish there uh next up we have Sabo so this is Garrett's build and Garrett specifically as a person's been topping a lot of my events with Sabo and he's got such an interesting build with it I think a lot of people inherently would be like oh I got to play the two drops uh to go into it but we're not playing those we're not been playing uh the seven cost Ace in or the five drop Ace uh sorry five drop Ace 7K in this one which we've seen in the anel list and the yam list G's not even playing into this one we're just playing the Luffy and we're playing the kiden killer which kid and killer is pretty much the same as Ace uh but the opposite of of you know Ace you're at two or less life uh you get the rash uh kitten killer your opponent's at two or less life you get the rush uh uh you still get rush anyways but you become a 7K which is very strong so uh I think the fact that this list is really unique uh doesn't play I would say a lot of the obvious cards means that there's a room for cards that are not uh as typical or maybe you're not used to and you get some Advantage from it too so uh I do like the idea of that we are playing two copies of Shir hosi in this build as well we're playing some Charlotte cracker which I saw in one of the matches just get a really really early uh double attack which is really helpful for being in range for your kikon nojos and uh and then yeah just the you know tiny any Revolution Army package like kosu if you're able to set this up is silly strong uh being able to make a leader 4K or get the reduction on something else uh we have Luffy as well as a great finisher and uh and just kind of the whole package so a really unique build I don't Garrett Garrett's been running some really unique builds for this leader in the last couple weeks and every weeks it's a little bit different and especially with the addition of eb1 we get some new cards like that kid and killer to to help you out so it's going to be interesting to see what he comes up with the next one and uh this list here Cong ulations to Garrett with their finish with Sabo and then next up we have gecko Moria which I'm not used to seeing this deck so far in the end of the video but uh it definitely didn't do super well in in this event in particular uh we did have it be like oh the fourth best uh or fourth most BR leader for the uh you know tied for third I guess right because both 18 for sakazuki and Moria but it only got one copy in the top 16 so uh I'm curious to see why why that is I do think like it does have like a really good match up in a purple law too which was a really popular leader for this format or for this event but um I do think maybe people are experimenting this build has some interesting tchs with it so this is uh the list from Piper and we're playing the six drop sakazuki which I've seen tched every once in a while we're also playing esow which is great for uh some card removal on play if your opponent has six R uh more cards in hand they have to trash two which is really good and we also have like the new addition of the brook so this has an onplay when attacking give up to one of your opponent's characters minus one cost during this turn then KO up to one of your opponent's characters the cost of zero so uh if we end up going second I could see this being like another another copy of Hina obviously not as impactful but if you're trying to get rid of a three or less which is not too terribly hard to see at that time uh we are able to like use Brooke and then go to Absalom and get that effect off we also have some times where we can get Brooke off of the Rebecca which is lets us get like a minus one on something too so I could see some synergies with it I think this probably might be better in sakazuki because we already have so much good removal or like cost reduction in that deck as is but Moria is a not like the worst ad with it and you can get some compound stuff with it especially since you can just play it out and use it uh only thing is that it's only a 4K so you do get some uh you know you do have to bump it up by putting a dawn to it on times and I think Mor is a little bit less flexible when it comes to Dawn management compared to other leaders but uh you can still get the the benefits for it so other than that I think a pretty standard list for the gecko Moria and uh I think gecko is going to still do very well in this format I still think it's one of the best three lists for our leaders for the form as well but it was really curious to see it do uh like underperform uh for this event in particular so don't have much more to say but congratulations to Piper for their finish there and then wrap it up we do have stard deck 13 Luffy and uh I will say this is probably the most unique build I've seen of this deck there's a lot of interesting deck cards for it so this is Daniel's version of the list uh in particular we see kind of like a little bit of this uh Thriller bark package for it so we have like one cop or two copies of Corgi which on playl look top five cards of your deck place two cards in the trash and then place the rest of the bottom of your deck in any order so this lets us put like five costs into our trash if we need to uh are also two cost boys are also gecko Moria which we can then get back with Dr hog back so I think that's a neat little combo same thing with uh Teran being able on playay or on KO just trash the top three of your deck uh since we just have so many ways to recur cards uh with you know our Luffy leader lets us get from the trash into our life and then we're also able to uh if gecko Mari is like one of the cards that we get so much value with this deck as well so being able to get the gecko Mori a little bit more consistently with hog Back Being able to find it uh and also like Sabo being able to cycle for it uh it's a really really unique deck that I haven't really seen uh for from others so I think that's important to to note like we have like the addition of like also the new Viola which is a great blocker and also lets us uh if we need to like heal uh for the turn we can use our Luffy effect discard a card from our hand put two cards that cost five into our life and then we just play out Viola uh we get that healed too uh which is also great because we can do something uh like in between where we use Viola's effect we put a 2K and like maybe like a Sabo into her life uh and then we can uh get them back later or I don't know like we just get some great effects from it um as like a blocker and sometimes like we want to rearrange our opponent's life sometimes we need a Blocker in general um we can also uh like if we play this off of like gecko Moria we can play Viola and then like put everything face down in like one of the two drop boys and get that like extra heal which is strong so I think there's some really great synergies with a lot of these and it's a again a very atypical list very interesting and kind of I kind of want to test it myself to see what I think about it so this is Daniel's list congratulations to their top 16 finish with this one and that's going to be it for this event again thank you guys so much for uh just supporting these events they've been really fun and I'm happy I was able to host this one for you guys uh this will probably be my last one for uh a little bit and probably to oppo7 uh so uh but if that changes I'll let you know so make sure to check out my socials and uh that's going to be it for this one so again thank you guys for watching I really do appreciate it and I'll catch you all next time damn it it [Music] it Dam it damn it
