Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Iβm not even going to lie, I accidentally followed this sub like 5 years ago when I was searching for magic the gathering, but I always see videos and amazing tricks. This is one of my fav subreddits. This was amazing. My 12 year old son was mesmerized by it!
It's a mind-blowingly beautiful routine but I really don't like AGT framing Chien as an amateur nobody out of nowhere. Here's his winning performance of the same routine for FISM where he won the Grand Prix for Closeup Magic in 2018, one of the highest honors in magic. Then again, they also tried to cast Shin Lim as "plucked out of obscurity" when he'd already won the FISM for Card Magic and fooled Penn & Teller _twice_ before doing AGT.
Without a doubt this level of talent is real even though the "overnight success" stories are not. Why can't we just appreciate both the accomplished hard work and the talent?
It was freaking awesome!! My siblings and I were in awe of this performance!
Also, canβt wait for penn and teller fool us to be back!
The extreme close-ups in this video really make you re-assess some of the techniques. To create such an amazing act for FISM and then continue to evolve it less than a year later is so impressive to me.
I love it when I figure a trick out... and then some variation comes along and I'm dumbfounded. I've watched his grand prix video like 100 times and two tricks clicked for me, only to be blown back to "how the fuck did he do that transition" land.
Also, AGT is about showcasing talent to the general public, not us nerds.
So, this is his BIG act. This is his ABSOLUTE best work... and he blew it out on the first show. Now how does he top this?
I swear I've seen this exact trick before I can't find out where tho someone plz tell me lol
Incredibly impressive, always love his performances. But I wonder if some of these could be done to a spectator sat directly in front - or even 'worse', directly to the right?
With the camera being awkwardly fixed at the same position on the left for the entire show (something very rare on these talent shows) it looks like he's not able to hide certain moves from all angles.
This is a wonderful act, it is definitely his best. I don't know what he is going to do in the next rounds, it will be very hard to top that. In my opinion he should have saved this act for the later rounds, but who knows, maybe he has invented something new and better.
