this is incredible this is my favorite interview i've ever done in my life oh my god let's try and get to know you even better okay so olivia i'm gonna give you 30 seconds to list off as many weird and wonderful facts about yourself are you ready for this all right three two one go i am half deaf in my left ear uh my screensaver is a picture of taylor swift on her reputation tour um uh just today i got a baby pink electric guitar which is really fun um 10 seconds hi i um i was born at 3am um my mom is a teacher um my nails are painted black right now we're stopping there well done a couple of things there yeah mum's a teacher yeah my mom is a teacher my mom is the loveliest woman in the whole world and she's very camera shy and will never ever like be on instagram or like take a photo with me she's she's very shy what's her name my mom's name is jen well it was mother's day here on on sunday just gone so big love to jump no you guys like the brits like post like mother's day stuff on instagram and all the americans are like oh my god is it mother's day i forgot about it a relief you find out that it's like different in the uk in america confusing there's one thing that you didn't list off um when you're telling facts about yourself olivia and and that was because apparently you took four attempts of passing your driver's license to your test um not technically i only like drove once with the teacher but i i scheduled two appointments that got cancelled and then the third appointment i went there and the the horn on my mom's car didn't work and so they said that like i was like my car was like unsafe and i couldn't like go out to take the test for like legal liability reasons and so i literally like could not even drive out of the dmv that day but the first time i got my driver's license and i got a song out of it so i think it was meant to be is it an urban myth because apparently you used your mum's parking sensors in the song i like was sort of like scared to say this idea to my producer because i thought it was so stupid i was like what if we like put like real car sounds in the thing and i like expect him to be like that's dumb but he's like yeah like let's do that let's do that and so i like called my mom on the phone and i was like hey mom can you like open your door and then like have like the thing like like can you like just record that on your phone and send it to me and she did and that's what we used in like the final cut of the song and i think it's like a cool little great question before we sort of went on air you were saying how you spent all day in the studio and then obviously we keep seeing you you know leaving the studio with a certain conan gray so what can you tell us about that song apart from the fact that you kept leaving pistachios in the studio yeah um no colin's a friend of mine and um uh the guy who produces most of my music produces most of him most of his his name is dan nigro he's the best and so um yeah no we're just pals and i think he's so brilliant and um pistachios are my like studio food of choice um if you ever like catch me in the studio i'm probably eating pistachios and so i just like left some on the piano the other day and he's like did you like leave these here and i thought it was the funniest like most me thing ever so i had to find instagram oh no so you're like the messy friend oh my god i'm so messy i'm so bad i am like literally you are like so lucky that i'm like not showing you the bottom half of like like what is below this screen because it's a pig's dye in here i love that everyone will know you're about because you leave a trail of pistachio nuts just everywhere i love that um speaking of uh collaborations there's one that i think everyone wants okay and now she is the screensaver to your phone you just told us when is it gonna happen when are you and taylor swift gonna collaborate whenever she's down i'm down i just you know but like honestly like i learn so much just like listening to her music i think my absolute dream would just be to like watch her in the studio write a song i think she's just such a genius and yeah i know it's a really exciting thing um to know you know like get to start to think about collaborating with people with anybody i think it's a it's a really interesting like facet of my career that i'm exploring now so yeah we like to just put it out to the universe on this show because we did it didn't we with a few artists it happened so much you have no idea not only olivia are you a chart topper but you're also in disney plus high school musical the musical series um your character is cast as gabriella in the show um has vanessa hutchinson reached out to you at all about the performance about the role you know um i actually haven't heard from vanessa yet but i'm dying too she seems like the coolest person ever and i would like love to be her friend um but there have been a lot of um original cast members that have reached out and it's been really lovely kenny ortega who directed all three films kind of gave us his blessing on the show which was super super you know i just grew up watching this movie so it's like really cool to get to be a part of this like new retelling perfect oh 100 i mean and fans have been waiting a year for season two so what can they expect oh boy oh i don't know how much i can give away um there's just such great music this year which i'm really excited for um and i actually got to write a song by myself for the series um in season two i wrote one um in season one as well but i wrote another one for season two that i'm really proud of so i'm really excited for people to listen to it if there's one thing that we love at capital um and me personally as well um i love all of their scrumptious little faces one direction right oh gosh i really do olivia i don't know if you know but i'm very good pals with the lads so isn't that right sunny isn't that right the power yeah we're good powers we gotta it doesn't like to talk about it i don't have to talk about it right i mean look just look at the instagram comments that's all i'm saying do you know what i mean sean yeah but look we know we know we're not the only ones who are big fans you know i remember when you did the big top 40 with will manning and you spoke about writing your own one direction uh fan fiction take a listen to this this is sort of embarrassing but i'm going to tell you anyway yes please take your light one direction fan fiction when i was in middle school like just like like the cheesy like oh harry like proposes to you and like asks you to like be his wife like stuff like that like i was that die hard of a fan how does that feel it's not embarrassing i don't know why i felt compelled to like tell that story live on air i don't know what i was thinking well i think the fans loved it olivia i'm not gonna lie it blew up on instagram um and just when you thought that you you know could go and put that behind you we have found the actual well sort of harry styles okay we have got harry styles coming in and uh he is wearing a pink blazer there we go and uh he's here he's getting in with his entourage here we go olivia hello oh my god split second oh you were so excited i was really thinking i was about to meet harry styles i don't know if you know olivia but i've heard that you actually would like me to do was a remix of your song oh my god i feel like we're surprising a proper fan this is incredible this is my favorite interview i've ever done in my life oh my god which of mine which which of my outfits do you like the most is it the one is it the one i'm wearing right now was it the grammy's one the feather bow was iconic i i gotta hand it to you what about the high heels and the lacy blouse so good so iconic yeah yeah that's so good so you want me to do a remix of your song i this is so weird i would love that that'd be incredible oh yeah really me it's such a good impression like if i close my eyes i really wouldn't believe it it's so good i actually feel like i'm watching you meet harry styles more exciting like i'm more thrilled by this but the planning and like the comedic timing that you guys had was just incredible can we talk about you getting a mcdonald's with cardi b please i like cannot express to you how much i would love for that to happen i'm actually like the biggest cardi fan like i listen to invasion of privacy so often i'm obsessed with her so that would be insane um so yeah let's manifest that what is your mcdonald's order you know i don't really eat meat but something the best thing at mcdonald's is their oatmeal for some reason that sounds so lame but their oatmeal is literally the best oatmeal i'm sorry yeah well done olivia rodriguez everywhere that's all we got time for me olivia olivia i'm going to stop you there i'm going to stop you there guys don't knock it ice cream type person i don't know i think i tend to like eat all of the ice cream first and then all of the fries second you
