OFFICIAL: SSC TUATARA BREAKS WORLD RECORD

this is a space race you know we're not the only ones competing in this space you know you you have koenigsegg you have bugatti we're committed to ensuring that this car is fully developed and it's the fastest car in the world you can buy there is a lot of pressure right now we want to put a big number up but you know we only have 2.3 miles i'm always a little nervous about a customer driving the car but he's he's getting more seat time at these high speeds and i think today's the day i think i think it comes together i'm focused on this pass is the car ready am i doing everything i need to do am i executing the way i'm supposed to execute and and what does the car give me the whole team has really embraced the fact that we're in this together jared's done a great job his team larry everybody is always staying calm cool and collected we're being methodical we're looking at the data we're seeing what we can improve upon and we just keep marching forward towards that goal [Music] so [Music] oh so [Music] oh today the ssc tuatara set what would be respected by the car community as a new world record for top speed runs i have verified data from race logic through these passes we have a northbound pass the runway goes from from north to south and back on the northbound pass we have a speed of 279.7 miles per hour which was run at 2 38 p.m local time southbound the second run which was run exactly 50 minutes later at 3 28 pm local time at 286.1 miles per hour this is a two-way average of 282.9 miles per hour this email is verified from uh race logic from the representative that was here operating the multiple race logic v box systems that were in the car a couple things that are important to know about this test run it was run in 2.3 miles so the car was using 2.3 miles of the runway to perform its top speed and the remaining mile to slow the car down a big shout out to the ssc team for pulling this off working so hard to get through this i know they have goals of faster speed and from what i've seen the car is more than capable i'm excited to bring this story to you guys as it unfolds and as this car ultimately chases the ssc goal of 300 miles per hour [Music] you
