OEX RAKOON 2.1 DOME TWO MAN TENT. Review of the oex rakoon 2.1 dome two man tent.

right everybody english words of me welcome youtube channel most of all thank you very much clicking on my video today i'm out doing a review video of the raccoon 2.1 rex backpacking camping tent now i've seen one or two other people online using this tent you know one setting it up and there's something i don't like about it in the summer i don't like about it more to be truthful but as a summer tent i do think it would be good for you know summer camping winter camping probably not now watch the video and you'll see exactly what i mean and i want to know if you agree with me on the situation what i'm gonna you know bring you to and you can see i think you can give me your advice in comments below if you agree with me now at the moment go outdoors we've got a massive sale on tents especially the oex range i think i paid 80 quid for his two man 10 i've got a lot of the oex brand i've got the fox wound fox 2 bobcat uh what other ones have i got yeah krueger i've got quite a few of the ox tents this is the new one to my addition now let's get it set up so straight away it comes in two parts you got your fly sheet in one that's good if it gets wet at least you've got a separate carry case for that you know stuff stack whatever you want to call it and then you've got your your poles and your inner i think your temp pegs have been here as well so what you can do with these is these side things here you can strap them to each side of your rucksack so you don't have to have it in your bag because it is a bit of a bulky tent it's a two-man tent it's going to be a little bit bigger than you'd like you know to stuff inside your rucksack so yeah like i say you can put it on each side of your tent uh your rucksack so not your tent put your tent outside of your tent that don't make sense does it but yeah you know what i mean you can stick your rucksack side parts through them there and strap it there now watch this one this is your inner yep i'm gonna say stuff wrong i always say stuff wrong when i'm doing videos it's just part of me i don't mind crack on and get on with it brand new not even say okay there's your poles and i don't feel no pegs in there oh let's hope the fallout anytime soon this may be a letdown already where are the pigs so your pegs are in with your fly sheet i thought we're gonna have to go on then do this video again but yeah let's sort of stuck to the alley pegs and not the cheap mild steel ones yeah lightweight alley ones really good right so these poles are absolutely massive the alley ones so do go carefully if you've got any problems in you know getting it into the slots don't over push it because remember they are ali so they are going to be quite they'll be strong but they are possible to break i've seen quite a few people with the bobcat tent complain but you know they've been uh snapping a little bit yeah they are extremely long poles you've got one two three four five six seven eight you got nine of these sections all in one pull right let's be honest here i've set up a lot of tents and this tent is confusing i don't get it you know first of all it's a two-man tent right so why i've not done it where you set the outer sheet up first in case you know you're camping in rain maybe yeah i don't see that at one mountain yeah in the first but two mountain out of first maybe this is different and normally with a two-man tent the poles should go through some guides on the inner this don't have it you've got to mess around with it like this so you got across them wow what a stupid tent right so on a serious note now i've done it now i understand it a little bit better if you're gonna buy his tent getting that as it is it takes a few minutes to sink in because that is just absolutely stupid i don't know why they've done that i really don't i don't know why they just didn't do the runners you know so you can put the ball through there so you can just feed them through and then clip it out i just don't know why they did it like that right let's put the fly sheet on right so when you put fly sheet on you'll notice you've got some tie points i think needed time around there probably looks more like it with air vent and event in on the inner there i'm just going to fast it's not going to be up for long really so i brought you right in to see this you have to go under your pole and connect it that way let's give that a bit of a talk there to tighten it but we'll go around afterwards we'll do all them we're not no point doing this one now and by the time we get to the end you know we ain't got no attention so we won't do it completely up we release it a little bit and we've got a little bit to play with at the other side yeah and it's like that on all four your corners so you need to lift your pole up and connect it in place like so there we go right so i've set the temple just a quick mention of oex if you need 12 pegs don't pack 10 these two will pull the guidelines out for there but on the other side you didn't pack enough pegs for it if you need 12 don't put 10 in just don't make sense right so the height the length all that sort of stuff so from this pin out point here where the door opens to the opposite side of the docks it's double doors it is 230 centimeters and then from your length where you're going to be sleeping from one side to the other is 225 centimeters so just over seven foot so your headroom when you're in the tent you've got 110 centimeters now it's over two point seven kilos yeah is that a heavy tent to you are you happy with that being a two-man tent whether you could put on each cellular rucksack i don't think that would be too bad your pack down size is 52 centimeters by 22 centimeters by 13 centimeters 5000 hydrostatic head over here in the uk that'll do you for winter time with rain you don't have no issues with that if you go to scotland or anywhere we get really bad wind snow and stuff yeah i'd consider you know look at the higher one the alipos are eight point millimeters that's the you know the thickness of them so the ground sheet is 4 000 hydrostatic head i'm sure they said that with different online 68d polyester there's not much to do actually put on them uh raccoon 2.12 person dorm 10 yeah sort of a dorm right let's show you inside so if it's two year you both got your ways of getting in and out of the tent without passing each other and you both get a set of pockets at the each side as well that's all right i do like the idea of that i do like the idea of double doors as well because last thing you want to do is camping with your mate or someone is you know you have to climb over him all right friends are doing it uh to get in and out this way you got your own door or if you are pitching this tent up where you know you got rain driving in from one side you can pitch it up and just have one door open so you got a break from the wind and rain that's not bad so there are your pockets two decent sized pockets for your mobile phone maybe a battery pack or a torch and i do like this decent size mesh vent and that leads to the other mesh on the other side the vent on the other side what we will take a look at right i do like this tent the way it's not a concern now i've put it up it's not so complicated doing the next time round i think if you get a 10 it's a little bit different to your little ones you do struggle a little bit but if you're going to buy this tent do set it up in your garden one or two times just so you use trial then polls go because then polls i don't like the idea that i want to be honest with you i just don't see why they didn't do it everywhere around so what is my concern i said at the beginning you know i've got a concern and this is one of them did you see the top of the tent so this here is my concern if you're gonna use this tent just say if you go anywhere where it snows you know pretty decent like scotland maybe anywhere like that i'd be a bit concerned about the snow will build up on there and cause weight pushing down on the tent you know if you do get a good foot and a half of snow overnight or summit yeah that is a real concern to me being out in snow this tent the weight of the snow will push it down let me know what you think about that please right so my overall thoughts about this raccoon 2.110 i do like it i must admit i've had a bit of whinge i've had a whinge about the you know the poles at the beginning of video but now it's up i do like it like i say i'm not too keen on the roof if you're gonna be out in really bad snowy conditions i don't think the rain will affect it i like the idea of double doors like i said once you and your friend can be in it and you both got your in and outs and if you know you've got the rain coming one way you can leave this shut up on the other side and you're all right each side in the door you've got enough room to put a rucksack or a few bits and backs maybe your boots or something i like the air vents the air it's a decent size to help control the condensation levels 5000 hydrostatic head well waterproof for over in the uk the room's all right just at the beginning i was a little bit frustrated about the temp you know the tent poles yeah they need to put two extra pegs in but that's no concern so i've got plenty of pegs at home would i recommend it i would recommend it to you but what i would recommend is like i've already said set it up in your garden one or two times just to get used to them poles i've never had a tent like that before and quite a few questions in my facebook group i'll put my facebook group link in here the oex facebook group is do i prefer this one or the bobcat well i will do the bobcat and this tent side by side so you can see them both together just remember the bobcat is a one man tent this is a two-man tent so whatever you're looking for that video might help you and i also i like the way to stick into the woodland green color and the yellow it's a lot like the van gogh tends to yellow in it even got a little mesh there i forgot to mention that so let me know what you think in the comments
