hello again so i am back with another video on how to do voice meter for vr chat so you can play music through your microphone originally i was having issues or not i was having issues but some of you are having issues with voice meter banana uh and i had an index headset at the time so that's what worked best for me so i'm assuming that you have oculus headsets so this is what's going to work for you so follow these instructions and you should be fine if you have voicemeeter banana go ahead and uninstall that once it's finished uninstalling you're going to need to restart your computer so once your computer's restarted after it's been uninstalled go to voice look up voice meter potato and download that once it's finished downloading and installing restart your computer and then we'll start from here so first things first uh oculus is off it's not even connected so don't even worry about that go to internet or go to google chrome or whatever you're gonna use typically it's probably better just to use youtube find a video that's like music for instance this should be able to hear it leave it paused minimize this all right so you're going to go down to your search bar type in voicemeeter potato click on that and this should pop up it's like a big big like panel like this so originally uh the way that i have it set up because i've already went to menu and loaded my settings so once you actually set this up how how i have it go ahead and save it and then put it on your desktop so you can always come here and load it so you never have to do it again so right now make sure to copy these so highlight these that one these this one this one this one make sure it copies exactly like it is for mine uh you could change this change like how deep or how clear your voice is if you want to it doesn't really matter it should set up automatically like this so how mine is set up it has wdm headset microphone oculus virtual audio device for hardware input 1 and then go to a1 do mme headphones oculus virtual audio make sure to put that one then leave it just like that once this is actually up you should be fine you don't have to touch this anymore but the first thing you're going to do if you follow along with me go down to or go up to oculus open up oculus app leave it up don't turn your oculus on yet go to your voice uh sorry open speaker settings so you would right click here open sound settings don't worry about any of this yet go down app volume and device preferences go down some more for google chrome since this is what's right here your actual video you're going to set this this top portion right here you set that to voice meter input so check change it to that literally you can access out you can minimize this whatever you want to do i leave it minimized so it's easier to set this back to default whenever i'm ready to listen to my music again so i just leave it up so you can minimize that sorry um and then come down to speakers and you're going to change you're going to just literally click on it and then click this and then go to voicemeeter aux input so you're gonna press that and you'll be set up for this i didn't do that because it's gonna change my audio in the video so just go ahead and click this then that's when you're gonna actually start up uh your oculus so once your oculus starts up and it's connected make sure to come back to here and make sure that this is still set as aux input uh if it gets changed to uh some anything related to oculus make sure to change it to aux input because uh for one if you have it this uh when you click on this and it says like anything related to oculus headset or anything it actually makes your game laggy um typically so it's best to just change it to literally anything else but tip if you're doing this for music change it to voicemeeter aux input and you'll be fine so everything should be connected at that point changing this to voice meter input lets you play it through your headset and you shouldn't be able to hear anyone um talking through your microphone and you can still talk through it as well if your music is playing so you should be good as far as that goes um once you actually start up the vr chat itself make sure to go to the volume settings in your menu on vr chat and change the input device to voice meter output so once you change the voice meter output try speaking into your microphone you should be able to see the bar moving so it's taking your voice and then you can play a song so you can go back to here and click on your song and you should be fine and it should work if you run into it into any issues with this make sure to take your time when you're going through these actual steps as far as what you need to do but this is what works for me with using the oculus headset so that i can play music and it's been no issue for me so far so make sure to copy those um steps and you should be fine hopefully this video wasn't too long for you if you have any questions leave it in the comments but if not this should be it so have a good day
