new birth come on come on if you can stand to your feet this morning and tell the lord good morning good morning new birth put those holy ghost hands together and act like you came to shabbat the lord in this house today turn to your neighbor and say neighbor i was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the lord good morning again new birth did you all know that you are a beautiful people this morning first peter 2 and 9 says but you are a chosen generation and the royal priesthood a nation his special people that you may proclaim the praises of him that called you out of darkness and into the marvelous light sons and daughters of the most high god today we came to give the lord praise we are faithfully and wonderfully made does anybody believe that today oh your soul better know when your soul matter boasted the lord that you are great and mighty in the lord today maybe you had a long week maybe you had a rough week maybe the devil stepped all over your toes this week but guess what you made it give god praise today because you made it give god glory because you made it if you're standing here today that is proof that god is worthy just to be praised this morning god stepped out in glory and he peaked down below the heavens and he picked some flowers to come up to his garden and for those of us that are remained he sprinkled a little water on us and you got up out of your beds this morning and you stepped into his marvelous life this morning i want you to act like you've acted you've lost your ever-loving mind and give god all praise all glory because he is truly worthy to be praised on behalf of our senior pastor bishop victor tyrone curry and the new birth baptist church we want to welcome you you and you this is your call to worship stand for the reading of god's word the kingdom of gender 2021 the year of victory give him the glory the passion of scripture is taken from psalms 27 verses 1 through 6 and i'm reading from the king james version it focuses on it focuses on god and is our salvation the lord is my light and my salvation whom shall i fear the lord is the strength of my life of whom shall i be afraid when the wicked even my enemies in my foes came upon me to eat up my flesh they stumbled and fell throwing whole shall encamp against me my heart shall not fear the war shall arise against me and this will i be confident one thing i have desired the lord that will i seek after that i made the will in the house of the lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the lord and to inquire in his temple for in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion in the secret of his tag of navajo shall he hide me he shall set me upon a rock and now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies around about me therefore will i offer up in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy i will sing yea i will sing praises unto the lord why don't you just put those hands together and give god a resounding praise out our praises praise [Music] in our lungs [Music] and so the significance of this is what if he didn't give you his breath and so and so we take it for granted that the air we breathe is ours the ears we have to hear their hours the eyes we have to see the the mouth to taste the hands to touch and feel so i learned this way back in elementary school about the five senses has ever dawned on you that those are not your senses what if you couldn't feel what if you couldn't hear what if you couldn't see me we take those small things for granted so so we so we hold out on our thank you jesus or our hallelujah until we get the car until we get the house until we get the spouse or until he get the money but have you ever stopped and woke up one morning and realized you got breath in your body you got eyes to see you've got ears to hear you got a mouth to talk i wish i had some real praisers in this place who would get outside of the suit you got on or the the dress you got on or the the car you drove to get here and just say lord i thank you for the small things all right thank you for the little things that i'm glad i could wave my hands and i'm glad i can open my mouth to honor you and i'm glad i came and i could see the saints in the sanctuary where are the practices [Music] we pour out our praise it's your brain in my lungs so we poured our praise pouring our praise it's your [Music] and if you mean that would you honor him at this place [Music] oh come on if you need that would you honor him not not me not the bishop not your friends not the elder would you honor him in this place today did we not come for an experience of him today did we not come to worship and get a word from him today are the praises of new birth hallelujah listen we didn't come to bother nobody but we came to bother everybody if you had an ability to enter the sanctuary of our god whether you're seated or standing you ought to give him a crazy praise in this place i don't hear no hallelujahs in here i don't get no thank you jesus in here i don't hear no glory to god in here you may be seeing it if you can not y'all y'all got to stay standing listen we we came to honor god in this place and i was sharing with somebody this past week every time we get an opportunity to enter into the sanctuary of our god it is such a blessing and so i don't know about you but i'm just glad to be among the living amen and so that's what we're celebrating our cancer survivors we're also celebrating those who have gone through domestic violence and and as heinous as that is if you survive that we are we want to celebrate with you we want to we want to give god praise for you you're a survivor if you know somebody who's a survivor we want to celebrate them and so fellas let's jam real quick it's a song that says i got a story to tell you about some things i've been through the answer is is i'm healed and so can we celebrate healing in this place come on let's do it like this come on and turn the band until we start thinking i just like to hear the band come on [Music] clap your hands in here won't you lean over somebody tell them i'm healed i'm healed i'm healed [Music] [Music] wondering what went wrong but i'm here church i see y'all had some sunshine [Music] [Music] my heart [Music] this is an advanced place to [Music] tell your neighbor i'm telling you i'm [Music] wrestle all day here sometimes wondering what's going on [Music] [Music] he set my soul free [Music] don't change [Music] he's delirious [Music] god [Music] my heart is [Music] tell them [Music] still [Music] [Music] but i'm still here somebody [Music] disappointed like y'all [Music] oh [Music] they have some scars [Music] [Music] disappointment [Music] disappointments [Music] [Applause] [Music] yes [Music] because with his strengths [Music] more oh [Applause] [Music] come on [Music] if you hear practice [Music] disappointment's young [Music] [Music] brothers [Music] that can yeah make some healing noise in this place no i don't hear you're not loud enough for your neighbor [Music] you may be seated if you can you ought to yell to your master say i'm showing up here yeah [Music] look at somebody say if you've been through what i've been through you would show enough praise him too yeah don't nobody know your story about you but we give god all glory in this place amen one last time with the crazy praise honor him in this place for healing in this house [Music] i said healing in this house [Music] man y'all play it with it by hand boy our god is a healer hey man tell me he's a healer i hear y'all don't play with me in here all right so listen we got to move on somebody shall educate in church i don't hear you somebody shout educated church yeah i know you got your mask on but you could talk through that mask come on talk to me and so we are an educated church and for 30 years of this church's existence we've had nothing but a great teacher and preacher not not just preacher we've had a great teacher and preacher and it is always at the heart of our bishop that we be in the educated church and so i got some information i want to share with you but just before i share that information with you i want you to get a little education so if you're ready for me upstairs would y'all turn your attention to the monitors is being rolled out and has proven to be 95 effective in stopping the spread of this virus but should christians be taking the covet 19 vaccination and could it be the mark of the beast okay so let's jump in so there are arguments as to whether the mark of the beast is some physical mark or whether it's something non-physical now we're not going to get into those arguments in this video but rather we're going to talk about whether christians should take this vaccination and is this vaccination somehow connected to the mark of the bee so here are six things that i want you to consider consideration number one is if you believe in the rapture more specifically the pre-tribulation rapture which is the teaching that i subscribe to which is the idea that christ is going to return for his church and he is going to rapture or take away all those who have placed their faith in christ then that means that by the time the mark of the beast is even offered then we aren't going to be here to accept it anyway because we are going to be in heaven with our lord and savior jesus christ so if you believe in that which i do then taking a vaccination or a chip or anything is not necessarily anything we need to be worried about because we will be raptured and long gone before any sort of mark of the beast is available number two according to scripture the mark of the beast seems to be something that people will make a conscious choice to take not something that they will be tricked or duped into taking without them knowing notice what it says here in revelation chapter 20 verse 4 it says here i also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to jesus and for the word of god and who had not worshipped the beast or its image nor had accepted its mark on their foreheads or hands so i want you to notice here all throughout the book of revelation the mark of the beast is associated with people who pledge their allegiance who pledge their worship and who willingly identify with the beast which is the antichrist so if you are not pledging your allegiance to the devil and you're not pledging your allegiance to the antichrist who we don't even know is even alive at this point then you don't have anything to worry about in terms of taking some sort of vaccination as being a sign or a symbol of the mark of the beast another scripture also says this the beast was caught and with it the false prophet who had performed in its sight the signs by which he led astray those who had accepted the mark of the beast and those who had worshipped its image notice this isn't something that people are forcing on you you are accepting this and by accepting it you are identifying with the devil and his henchmen and you are pledging your allegiance by worshiping the image of the beast so if you're not doing any of that you don't have anything to worry about number three let's talk about the timing of this mark of the beast well the bible says that in order to take the mark of the beast you have to worship the antichrist but the antichrist is not going to be revealed until one major thing happens in eschatology the bible says that one of the main things that's going to identify the antichrist is that he's going to set up some sort of abomination of desolation in the temple of god and this is going to be one of the key events that's going to identify the antichrist as being the antichrist well as of the time of recording this video there is not yet a temple that has been erected in the holy land and therefore it is not possible yet for the antichrist to set up some sort of abomination in the temple of god and so if that is the case that means that the antichrist has not yet been revealed which means it's highly unlikely that someone could take the mark of the beast without knowing it number four according to scripture the mark of the beast seems to be an actual mark or imprint or stamped image of some sort now i know there are arguments back and forth but whatever it is it doesn't seem to be any sort of vaccination notice what the bible says it says here it forced all the people small and great rich and poor free and slave to be given a stamped image on their right hands or their foreheads now some people will say this is symbolic because the right hand represents kind of what you do and then the forehead is what you think so it's like you're pledging your allegiance to the devil and the antichrist and you're also following that up by your actions and what you do now that is one interpretation but if we just take a literal approach to the scriptures a stamped image on your hand or your right hand excuse me and then your forehead seemed to suggest that it is actually an image but also if you look at the greek word here the greek word here for stamped image or mark is the word karagma which actually means a mark or an imprint or some sort of image and more than likely as i read the scriptures i would see that this mark is probably some sort of tattoo or some sort of image of the antichrist that if you have that on your hand that and on your forehead rather that is you signifying that you are uh pledging your allegiance to the antichrist so to be clear there is no biblical evidence anywhere that the mark of the beast is some sort of implanted computer chip or any sort of vaccination that you may unknowingly take number five the bible says that the mark of the beast will determine those who will be able to buy things and sell things notice what it says it says here it forced all the people small and great rich and poor free enslaved to be given a stamped image on their right hands or their foreheads so that no one could buy or sell except one who had the stamped image of the beast's name or the number that stood for its name and so because this vaccination more than likely goes into your bloodstream and is not something that is imprinted on your skin or uh implanted in your hand as a computer chip or something like that it seems highly unlikely that this vaccination is something that people will be able to point to and say okay you've got the vaccination that means you have the mark of the beast and therefore you can buy and sell but you don't have the vaccination so therefore you can't any more than we can identify people on the street who have the flu vaccine and people who do not so because the scripture seems to indicate that this is probably something more visible then it seems highly unlikely that this vaccination is in any way tied to the mark of the beast and number six our salvation is not determined by whether we take a vaccination or not it is about whether we have placed our faith in the finished work of jesus christ on the cross the bible says this about those of us who are saved it says for i am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor present things nor future things nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of god in christ jesus our lord that seems very clear that there is nothing on earth nothing present nothing in the future no power no government no authority no principality that is strong enough to be able to break the bond of love that we have with god through our lord and savior jesus christ listen when you think about the character of god god is not someone that is going to save you from your sins only for you to get to his throne on judgment day and send him say hahaha the joke is on you buddy yeah you're not going to be saved because you took the covet 19 vaccination without even knowing that it was the mark of the beast and therefore all of the work that you've done for me by serving me using your gifts making disciples and spreading the gospel is all for naught because you took that vaccination that doesn't seem to be consistent with the character of god nor consistent with what the bible says about what determines our salvation so what are my final thoughts i personally believe that there is no connection with the covet 19 vaccination and the mark of the beast i think it's a conspiracy theory i don't think there's anything different than taking this vaccination as compared to you taking the flu vaccination now whether or not you decide to take this vaccination is between you and god and your family but one of the reasons why you shouldn't take it shouldn't be because you are afraid that by taking it you are going to receive the mark of the beast if you are a believer i trust that by the time the mark of the beast is even available as an option to take that you and i will be long gone in the presence of our lord and savior jesus christ now i know this is controversial so i'd love to hear from you what are your thoughts on the mark of the a doctor raise your hand if you got a doctor like you like you got a doctor you say at least twice three times a year okay well if you trust that doctor to send you to walgreens or cvs for your prescription if you trust that doctor to see about you and they poke you and stuff and they put things you know if you trust that doctor enough to do that at least two or three times a year then ask that same doctor what you should do about concerning your vaccination shot and do the right thing amen let's can we give god praise for our bishop i said can we give god praise for our bishop at this give you all the glory we give you the honor we give you the praise because you alone are worthy god and lord if it had not been for you who was on our side where will we be so god we praise you this morning and we thank you and love you and adore you and magnify you and worship you and god we just want to say thank you thank you thank you thank you now lord we thank you father god for the word we thank you for this assignment i plead the blood of jesus over this place god lord we come against every form of hindrance right now in the blessed name of jesus god we curse every work lord god for every worker of iniquity right now in the name of jesus christ and father we pray that your word would take root and good soul and that will be not only hearers of your word but doers of your word father we bless you we adore you god anoint me so that preaching will be easy hallelujah jesus god equip the call equip the call in jesus name i pray amen amen amen if you turn your bibles to hebrews 4 12 hebrews 4 12 and the word of god reads the word of god reads for the word of god is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-ed sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and mirror and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart before i go any further i just want to give god all the glory i want to thank my pastor for this opportunity it's been a while since i've been here praise god but god is faithful he has his appointed time for everything so before i deal with the with the focal verse okay let me give you a little history when we were in minister in training class and bishop would teach us that in the outline the structure of a body of a sermon that you know your opening you know you give a little history on what you're going to preach about amen all right so let me give you okay a little history concerning the book of hebrews as well as chapter four now the book of hebrews is meant to challenge encourage and empower christian believers according to this letter jesus christ is superior to all of the prophets and all of the claims to truth since god has given us christ we ought to listen to what he says and not move backwards the consequences of ignoring god are dire hebrews is important for joining on many portions of the old testament and making his case that christ is the ultimate and perfect expression for god's plan for mankind this book presents some tough ideas about the christian faith a fact the author makes specific note of now paul the apostle was thought to be the author however since the third century this has been questioned and the consensus among most modern scholars is that the author is unknown in a special sense jesus christ stands as the center of the book of hebrews his work for us as high priest in heaven is foundational to the entire message of hebrews and especially the urgent yet beautiful appeal of chapter 4 verses 9 and 10. now in chapter 4 the writer points out once again that it was disobedience not a deadline that caused israel suffering long after moses and joshua approached canaan writers such as david encouraged the people of israel to enter the rest offered by god in psalm 95 this means that the rest provided when joshua took cana was not a one-time opportunity or something no longer available as stated in hebrews 4 8 for if jesus had given them rest then would he not absolutely have spoken of another day this chapter refers to joshua who eventually led his israel into canaan according to hebrews chapter 4 god gives those who obey him everything needed to accomplish their assigned tasks so in other words god supplied all the necessary resources they needed and god doesn't call the equip he equips the call so joshua obey god and found christ was on his side unlike those who fell into disbelief joshua exemplified the ultimate results of confident faith now the real problem for israel at canaan was a failure to obey god because of fear according to the writer of hebrews the bible states in hebrews 4 3 and 4 that god rested on the seventh day from all his works when he had completed his creative work israel forfeited their rest in canaan when they fail to complete the tasks given them by god stated in hebrews 4 6 so in a very literal sense the rest offered by god stated in hebrews 4 9 and 10 is not about the relaxation or leisure it is about the rewards which come once we have rested from or completed the works we are assigned so we as christians should make every effort to obey god while we still can ah but god doesn't leave us hated no he doesn't he gives us a key the key to our ability to complete our work is the word of god specifically the written scriptures new birth and those of you watching on social media preaching and teaching about entering to god's rest is not my assignment this morning that's another sermon okay my assignment this morning is to enlighten you on the living powerful word of god that's the title of my text the living powerful word of god now the first thing each and every christian must fully realize is that the holy bible is truly the inspired and infallible word of god the bible is god breathed and has come directly to us from god the father through the holy spirit the actual words of the bible are anointed by the holy spirit himself and they have the full ability to completely change and transform you if you're willing to work with the divine truths that are contained in the actual words jesus says in the bible that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free however you first have to know what the real truth is before the truth can start to work to set you free amen so this is why king david said we must meditate on the words of the bible so we can find out what their true meaning is and how all of these divine truths can apply to our daily lives meditating on the bible means to think about to chew on to study to find out the meaning of all the different verses in the bible now i know i know i know the bible is long okay it's a big book all right but god has made it as simple and easy as he possibly could think about this there is only one bible let me say that again there is only one bible in one book god has given us everything we need to know about himself his son jesus christ the holy spirit the basics of our salvation through his son jesus how he wants us to live this life the things that he wants us to do and the things that he doesn't want us to do in this one book are all the ways and commandments of our lord along with all the information we're going to need on what is awaiting us on the other side when we die and cross over heaven for the saved and hell for the unseen all of the bible has been given to us by inspiration of god through holy men who were moved by the holy spirit to write what they wrote so in other words all the words in the bible have come directly to us from god the father through the holy spirit the specific authors of the bible wrote under the guidance inspiration and illumination of the holy spirit this is why you can completely trust that what you read from the bible will be a hundred percent pure solid god truth there is no other book on earth that contains direct words from god the father and his son jesus christ other than the holy bible god himself has personally arranged that all of the revelation that he wants us to have in his life about himself his son jesus and his holy spirit will be contained in this one incredible book the bible now since all of the bible is coming direct to us from god almighty himself then the bible is the only book that we have here on earth that is totally and completely perfect in knowledge that it is trying to transmit to us this is why the bible has the ability to change your life no other book on earth has the amount of wisdom and knowledge that this book has and this is all because this knowledge and this wisdom is coming direct to us from god the father himself now there are four verses from scripture that specifically tells us that every word that proceeds from the mouth of god is a hundred percent pure solid truth we find in proverbs 30 verse 5 every word of god is pure here's a shield of those who put their trust in him do not add to his words lest he reprove you and you'll be found a liar psalm 12 and 6 the words of the lord are pure words like silver tried in a furnace of earth purified seven times psalm 33 and four for the word of the lord is right and all of his work is done in truth he loves righteousness and justice the earth is full of the goodness of the lord and john 17 17 sanctify them by your truth your word is true now notice the first verse says that the words that come from god are pure words the last word verse then says that all of god's words are truth put these two verses together and you get that all the words that come from god are pure truth pure means a hundred percent pure that means that all of god's words are pure solid truth with no errors or mistakes this is why the word of god is also called infallible inherit if the bible says that a thing is so then it is so in a discussion god said it that settles it so the bible tells us in hebrews 4 12 that for the word of god is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-way sword and piercing even to the dividing of sunderland's soul and spirit of the joints and marrow and is the discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart the word of god the word of god the precious word of god if we as christians properly grasp and engage the word of god can be a powerful winning tool in this race and battle of life now there are two primary greek words logos and rhema that describes the word of god especially in the new testament the word logos is used to refer to the constant written word which is recorded in the bible principally to the inspired word of god into jesus who is the living word john 1 1 tells us that in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god and we have the greek word rhema means the spoken word the spoken word of god or the god-breathed word or a spiritually enlightened understanding of the word of god it is often used to differentiate between a spiritual and natural understanding of god's word now both logos and rhema are crucial to our christian life god uses his logos word to speak his rhema word to us and god's living instant speaking always corresponds with and never contradicts his written word so the more we read and meditate and memorize the written word the more god can speak an instant word to us his instant word would guide us in any situation if we obey when he speaks to us let me give you example you're having challenges on your job and you're being aggravated by your boss or your co-worker co-workers or both you're sitting at your desk and you're thinking to yourself that you're tired of all the foolishness and you're about to lose your mind up in here up in here and you want to tell them y'all better try jesus and not me okay but all of a sudden when you got to lose it you hear my grace is sufficient as i was with joseph so shall i be with you you are in the place of god so as you turn to the lord in your spirit you save from being consumed by your negative thoughts and hearing that the ram word from the lord brings peace and calms your emotions now you're feeling god's assurance that his grace is sufficient for you and for what you're going through and as he was with joseph so shall he be with you i'm speaking to somebody in the day now how did this happen the lord used the constant written word logos you previously read and memorized to speak an insta-word and personal word to you rhema in your particular situation the lord's instant speaking strengthen you to turn to him and supply you with the peace to handle the situation right where you were four points and we out of here for the word of god is quick for the word of god is powerful for the word of god is sharper than any two red sword for the word of god discerns for the word of god is quick when the bible says the word of god is quick it means it's living and it's real the word is alive it's not like the average book that simply contains information that usually becomes obsolete and or outdated in contrast our god's word is living and becomes more renewed and concise in the hearts of our understanding the word of god is living and active god's word his spoken word is living and active each time we open the bible and read it god's word is not dead god's word is not dead god's word is not dead god's words are not just words written on a page thousands of years ago lying around dormant god's word is a living word it was alive in the past and it's living and acting for us right now and when all of this passes away god's word will remain alive living active god is a living god and his word cannot be separated from him his word can never be exterminated as isaiah 40 and 8 states the grass wither the flower faded but the word of our god shall stand forever hallelujah thank god let's give god a can of praise my second point for the word of god is powerful you would expect a book that is divine and living will be would in fact be active and so it is paul writes in first thessalonians 2 and 13 that the word of god does work jeremiah writes in jeremiah 23 29 is not my word like fire declares the lord and like a hammer that breaks the rock into pieces god's word is so powerful that his word created heaven and earth he's saying let there be light and there was light god's word is powerful the word powerful in the greek word is inner guess and it means powerful in its action and affected in its operation the english word for kinetic energy comes from in a guess now let me tell you about kinetic energy kinetic energy is the energy an object has due to its motion like walking falling flying and throwing so one way we can translate 412 to read is god's word has motion the word of god is is living energy because the words of scripture are the very life and essence of god himself that god's word has god's power and his earned energy and it accomplishes what god intends for it to do as stated in isaiah 55 10. the word of god reads that for as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater so will my word be which goes forth out my mouth it will not it will not it will not return to me empty without accomplishing what i desire and without succeeding in the manner for which i sent it because it's god's word it is an undefeatable word the bible has all these centuries of life and the power of god to do his work isaiah says that the word of god does not return for the empty it does his work because the word of god is powerful it's living it's active it has energy as christians we cannot live a successful christian life without the word of god hallelujah jesus jesus answered and told satan when he was being tempted in the wilderness that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of god there is no way around it when the enemy comes against you jesus gave us an example fight him off with the power of god i feel my health i don't know what you're going through this morning but i do know god has the answer to help you overcome your challenge and is found in the word of god when your funds are low and your debts are high the word of god says the lord is my shepherd i shall not want the word of god says he shall supply your needs according to his riches in glory his word says give and it shall be given unto you good measure press down shaking together running over shall man give unto you his word says i have been young and now and old yet heaven i see the righteous forsaken nor seed breaking bread when you're feeling lonely the word of god says he will never leave you nor forsake you that he is with you always even until the end of the world when you're sick in your body the word of god said he sent his word and healed you and deliver you from your destruction when you're feeling afraid the word of god says that god will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind on him when your enemies come against you the word of god says be strong and courageous do not fear being dread of them but as the lord your god who goes with you he will not leave you and he will not forsake you if you're facing danger the word of god says in psalm 23 yeah though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death i will fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod and my staff they comfort me and in psalm 91 he that dwelleth in a secret place for the most i shall abide under the shadow almighty i will say of the lord he is my refuge and my fortunes my god in him what i trust surely he shall deliver me from the snail the foul and from the north north some pesos he shall cover me with his fellows and on his wings shalt i trust his truth shall be that shield and buffer thou shall not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that fly by day not for the pastors that walk in darkness not for the instruction that wastes a new day a thousand shall fall in my sight ten thousand at my right hand but it shall not come not me only with my eyes shall it be hard and see the reward of the wicked because thou has made the lord hallelujah which is my refuge even the most time my habitation there shall no evil befall me neither shall be bad i'm not my dwelling for he shall give his angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways let your body up in your hands let's say that's their foot against the stone that's a child upon the lying in an hour the young lion the dragon shall they travel undefeated and if you're in need of salvation the word of god says that if you confess with your mouth the lord jesus and believe believe in your heart that god has raised him from the dead you will be saved you will be saved hallelujah god has given us an answer to whatever we need and it's found it's found in his word his word tells us if we declare a thing it shall be established and that death and life are in the power of the tongue you want to see a change start believing declaring praying meditating and acted upon the powerful acted living and energizing word of the god hallelujah god oh god help me finish this god for the word of god is sharpening into a sword oh there's my third part piercing even dividing of the soul and spirit of the joints in maryland then the word of god is like a sword that has two edges cut in both ways hallelujah jesus glory to god you're gonna seek and doing terrible damage to an aggressive a two-air sword is considered to be a dangerous weapon because of the two edges handle improperly it can cut the user just as easily as it can cut someone else now what is the significance of the two-edged sword referred to in hebrews 4 12. well you will find this phrase regarding the two earth sword appears all over the new testament for instance in revelation 1 16 when the apostle john received his vision of jesus on the isle of atmos he said and he had in his right hand seven stars and out of his mouth went a sharp to his sword and his countenance was as the sun shining in the strength notice that this two-edged sword came out of jesus's mouth now why would jesus have a sword in his mouth shouldn't it have been in his hand the phrase two edge is taken from the greek word dystopias and i found that it's unquestionably one of the oddest words in the entire new testament why is it so odd because it is a compound of the word d meaning two and the word stomach which is the greek word for one's mouth when these two words are compounded into one they describe something that is to mouth so why would the bible refer to the word of god repeatedly as a two-edged sword or literally a two-mouth sword ephesians 6 17 calls it the sword of the spirit which is the rhema word of god what does this living and affected word do it pierces for what purpose to divide to divide what soul is spirit well what does that mean preacher make it make sense well i'm glad you asked the writer hebrews gives this analogy it's like divine in joints and marrow joints are the thick hard outer part of the bowl mirror is the soft tender living inner part of the bowl that is an analogy of soul and spirit the word of god is like a sword that is sharp enough to cut right through the outer hard tough part of the bone to the inner soft living part of the bone some sores less sharp may strike a bone and bounce off and not penetrate some sores may penetrate part way through the tough thick joint of the bone but a very sharp powerful double-edged sword sharp on each side of the point will penetrate the joint all the way to the marrow soul and spirit are like bone joint and bone marrow so is that invisible dimension of our life that we are by nature spirit and what we are by supernatural birth jesus said that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit and spirit without the awakening created regenerate work of the spirit of god in us we are merely natural rather than spiritual as stated in first corinthians 2 14 and 15. so the spirit is that individual dimension of our life that we are by the regenerating work of the spirit so the word of god divides and separates the soul and spirit of man because they are two separate and distinct entities there would be no need to divide them if they were the same although the spirit of soul and intertwined with the nature of each person they can be separated from each other because they are two separate entities but they can only be separate and distinguished by the word of god for the word of god is greek for the word is powerful for the word of god is sharper than any two-way sword and my final point for the word of god deserves god's word is able to cut so deeply that it can deal with the thoughts intents of the heart god's word cuts down to the heart evaluating and dealing with the unseen thoughts and unspoken motives god's word is powerful enough to expose our sin not to embarrass us but to bring repentance and healing the word of god cuts down to our inner thoughts and feelings revealing to us the things that are not pleasing to god so that we can repent of these things and receive god's forgiveness and are god's restoration only the word of god is able to do this saints of god human nature makes it easy to confuse selfish piety with true godliness we can fool others and even ourselves because man looks at the outward appearance but our hearts are deceitful and wicked but we can't fool god the bible said god searches our hearts and examines our moles and gives every man his reward according to what he deserves so like a razor sharp knife the living and active bible can distinguish even those things we think are inseparable this is important since all of our thoughts and actions will be judged by god you may come in here on sunday and fool bishop and fool all of us but you can't fool god let me say that again we you can't fool god so as i close i leave you with this god's word is alive it's active it's powerful it carries the very essence and energy of god god's word is pure and god's word is true god's word is light and god's word is undefeatable god's word would change you and god's word will save you god's word will deliver you god's word will bless you god's word will heal you god's word we convict you god's word will cut you god's word we encourage you god's word we give you hope and god's word will come for you god's word will protect you god's word would teach you god's word penetrate and god's word judges every thought and attitude god's word will increase your faith and god's word will help you love your enemies god's word will prosper you god's word will strip you god's word will help you forgive god's word will instruct you for god's word is a letter to my feet and a lighter to my path every word of god proves truth he is a shield of those who take refuge in him in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god and the word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory glory as of the only son from the father full of grace and truth the grass withers the flower fades but the word of god will stand forever heaven and earth will pass away but god's word will not pass away for the word of god is quick the word of god is powerful the word of god is sharpening in a two-and-sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrows and is a discerner of thoughts and tents of the heart let's give god glory for his living and powerful word of god hallelujah thank you jesus thank you jesus hallelujah god hallelujah to god be the glory to god be the glory the doors of the church are open and they have been open for over 2 000 years so at this time we offer christ to you it may be someone here that you you hear this word and he was like how can i experience that but we offer christ to you just come on down this is the living word it's alive and it's active and it's sharper than the two is sore we offer christ to you or it might be someone here that you're out of fellowship you've been going on about your way you know you was raised up in the church and let me let me simplify that okay because the pandemic showed us that a lot of people they had a relationship with the form the act of coming to worship but not with god himself so a lot of people was lost when they couldn't come into the building but if you want a relationship or you want to restore your relationship with the lord we offer christ to you we the doors are open you can walk down the aisle i will meet you if you want to come i will come we come against the spirit of fear right now in the name of jesus christ so if you want to come if you want to accept christ as your savior if you want to rededicate your life i'll meet you i'll meet you or maybe you're visiting and you're looking for a church home where bishop curry will be delighted to be your pastor is there one is there one is there one this will be the most important decision that you make the most important decision that you'll make and you can look at the signs of time i'm not trying to scare you but we don't know where death is you could be at the grocery store and some somebody comes shooting up the place you want to make sure that your salvation is secure will that be one well bishop look like we have a save house today praise god increase in their lives lord god we ask you lord god to continue to bless their lives and order their steps we thank you lord god for the word on this morning lord god we ask you lord god to continue to cover and order elder moser mason's steps lord god we ask you lord god to keep her in your peace and your strength and in your joy lord god we ask you lord god your perfect will be done in and through her life lord god we ask you all god to continue to bless your people lord god as we leave this place but never your presence to keep your word in our hearts to meditate on it lord god to be
